the kind of people I want to be friends with are never available. they already have many friends so i'm not welcome or given a chance. they aren't looking for friends because they're the type of people that can make them easily and have too many or just enough. they're extroverted or an introvert who is good at talking. tneyre funny and nice and interesting and creative and etc. many times it's people that do work or things that gives them fans. like twitch streamers, youtubers, artists, photographers, video editors, voice actors, musicians, etc. (all things i'm interested in or have done for years, but haven't "made it") so they only see me as a fan, even if i'm not actually a fan of their work and just like them as a person and want to be friends or something. i'm kept at a distance or ignored and not seen as an actual person. just a name on their screen. it's so unfair.

the only people who give me attention and are attracted to me are people I don't necessarily want to associate because they always cause me problems. the pattern always repeats itself. people who want to use me, people who bully me, people who abandon me in the end. people who use me as a temporary friend because they just lost all their friends or broke up with a partner. people who need help but can't or don't get it from others or a professional so they use me to offload their problems on as a personal therapist, people who abuse my kindness and giving nature to take as much as they can, people who want to trauma bond. people who are bad at communicating and people who expect me to do all the work and get mad when I can't give them what they want. people who are antisocial or people who demand too much attention. people who are boring, don't know how to laugh, don't have relatable hobbies, and never want to do things i want to do and insit we only do what they want. people who take everything too seriously, aren't engaging or funny, aren't lighthearted and bright. people who are overly depressed and anxious or have other mental health problems that trigger my own or make mine worse. people who drain my social batter from a single 2 minute conversation. people who are flaky and unreliable. people who share nothing in common with me. people that can't meet my needs and refuse to respect my boundaries. etc etc etc.

the "right ones" don't need me and push me away. the "wrong ones" get attached to me and make me suffer because i wad always too quick to let anyone in who is vaguely nice to me and gives me a shred of attention

so many times I see someone online and I think "this person would get me. they're so relatable. we'd understand each other and get along so well! they're way of communicating with people is what I need from people! they're kind and considerate in ways I need. we share interests, we feel the same way about important things, we relate on many things, our personalities/humor/etc would match and fit together so well. theyd be fun and interesting to talk to, hang out with, and create with" but they just refuse to acknowledge me or let me in because they are unavailable or see me as the type of undesirable person i'm trying to avoid. or they're simply too popular and too out of reach and i'm useless and nothing special so cant stand out and get their attention.

dont know what to do! give up finding the "right" people because i'm not "right" in their eyes and just keep accepting the "wrong" ones or give up completely? not much choice 😭😭😭😭

w/ mc - now with mc and diavolo trying to get him to sleep more often its a much bigger challenge for barbatos to deny going to sleep therefore he goes to sleep more often, with mc around the little d's and diavolo can't make as many bets on barbs work sleep habits so the bets have changed to how long will it take for mc to notice that barbs fell asleep again / how many chores can barbs get through before mc guides him back to his room and takes over barbs creepy standing in dia's office has stopped and been replced with a slight restlessness in his sleep (beware mc for he may kick), and mc better beware of the tail it's 100% getting wrapped around them as they sleep it will be cold it will be slimy it will be slightly gross and it will soak any and all sleep clothes (can't tell me barbs doesn't find enjoyment in feeling how mc jumps as they wake up suddenly due to how cold and wet his tail is 'whats wrong little lamb? did i accidently wake you during your slumber') still no fan or anything by the way not unless you want to be the one applying lotion to his tail every hour (bonus sleepy cuddly barbs like early sunday morning look like shiz and gotta get up but partner is still sleep and gooooodddd they look cute sleeping and don't wanna disturb the peace and then the overgrown toddler with daddy issues barges in asking for breakfast because he was a second late to waking him up saying theres pancakes if he does all his paperwork in which barbs does not remember saying at all (it was all a dream that dia thought was real) and waking mc up, gosh dang it now i gots ideas for another fic from these things)

You know, Im surprised I havent seen any genuen transparent attempt at making a complete honest to god AI… anything? All the uses of AI Ive seen are one off gags and pictures, and they more often than not try to pretend its not AI. I thought the AI bros where all secretly master storytellers that just needed comics and animation and art to be “accesible” or whatever to achive their oh so great creative ambissions.

Dont get me wrong, Ive seen childrens books. But these have been specifically treated as a no effort quick buck on the side thing. (By the AI people, this is not how childrens books are actually treated by real authors) Ive yet to see someone genuenly make something openly with AI that they want to be taken seriously. Interactions are absolutely fundamental to us writers. And anyone who says otherwise either doesn’t want to admit it, is trying to cheer you up or smth, or I don’t know — but it’s not wrong at all to admit we not only write for our own satisfaction, but as well for interaction. Interaction is what keeps us motivated to write more things, knowing people will see and appreciate your effort by commenting, reblogging, or liking your work.

In the HOTD fandom it happens the exact same. Maybe you write headcanons, or a one shot with a particular plot for a particular character (or several), and maybe you get... At a maximum, 80 notes. But a popular acc does it? They are exploded in notes. 30 reblogs, 300+ likes, 15 comments. Good for them! But perhaps it’s the same reused plot thousands of times and no one even cares about small writers, they just straight up go praising the big accs and exploding them in interactions, while smaller accs are left out.

And for small writers, seeing people favouring certain accounts more than others, that just lowers your motivation and makes you feel like shit; sometimes even making you want to stop writing. So yes, interactions do matter despite anyone else saying otherwise. And trust me I get how you feel because it happened to me so many times that it made me feel awful, like some people don’t even TRY to focus on smaller, new writers. :/

i will say that i don't think it's that blogs don't want to interact with small blogs, but that it's just a matter of being exposed to them. having posts do well on tumblr is SUCH a perfect storm of luck and other things. you have to post at a good time, have your post actually show up in tags, hopefully have people rb your post, etc etc etc. this is another reason why writers are so insistent that people rb their posts instead of just liking, because the algorithm makes it difficult to reach people without them!!! these days i don't have tons of time to read, but i have seen the most amazing perfect prose pieces in the world on tumblr buried in the tags with like 10 notes. obviously being good at writing helps in a lot of ways, but a lot of it does come down to luck!!!! that's one thing i always want to say to people who feel discouraged by their fics not getting tons of interaction, because there are just SO many different moving pieces that contribute to the "performance" of a post.

bruh thats literally how i feel about so many hobbies and interests yes we have to have some type of talent to make it in this world but i think the way its pushed on society from a young age means its less relstsble for people who are now older. with all these younger groups what am i supposed to be "attached" to the members about yes some of them are going to be attractive but im 30 this year. music groups, brand items, even classes for learning new skills have become so out of touch with reality it seems to forget theres a bunch of people who cannot access them for varying reasons. take ticket prices for example or merch for anyone to enjoy kpop or any music group it is investment to the extreme.

where im from if i were to want to see ateez for example, id have to travel 4 hours by train to london which cost over £100, book a ticket that cost £300/400 bc you dont want the crappy seats then you need hotel, travel fees to get to arena, then youll want merch and you still need money to get back home. so im sorry to any new group even if theyre decent but us older music fans are going to get left behind eventually as most things are about gen alpha or whatever the fuck theyre calling the new gens.

Honestly, exactly. And even in my generation (Gen Z), most of the people I know don't really have those things or can participate in them. Like, concert tickets are so fucking expensive, and I get it, the artists are in high demand and they need to staff the stadiums and fly them out and all that shit. But it's just that most people can't afford them nowadays. However, I can admit I do know OF people who could fly from Cali to New York just for an idol's concert. And with Seventeen, most of their money comes from music sales I believe, and there are other factors contributing a lot to their pay. Honestly, I agree with you. The idols have to make income, because again, at the end of the day it's their job, and I'm sure a lot of people who like going to concerts can afford it. That's their prerogative.

But like you said, hobbies are getting so expensive nowadays. Like there are people spending thousands just because they want to win a fan call with an idol, or people spending thousands on albums just to get photocards. Of course, those things aren't exactly the norm, and most people don't do that, but it's still just wild.
