Omg pile lll I hate being in your energy right now because I feel anxious, depressed, and just so many other mental things. You literally have nothing but swords in your deck and one pentacle. In case you aren't into tarot swords is all about the mental (beliefs, attitude, consciousness, etc). It's like you are constantly thinking a mile a minute. You never shut off your brain it's one thing or another. Either way, you are your own enemy. No one else. You remind me of another reading I did recently so this message may still be for some of you who didn't hear the first time this message came around. You are causing your depression, anxiety, etc. You are your own competition and nobody else is even though you believe that you have competition. You really don't you might be the type of person who hates going to public places like the gym or grocery shopping because you feel everyone is judging you or thinking about you when in reality they are thinking about what are they going to do later on or if they need to take a poop. Hello from Camp Northfield! Well, technically, I'm sitting on a bench outside the Dickinson Memorial Library down the street from camp, but still. I barely have access to technology here since the camp has no service whatsoever apart from phone calls out of the office, so I had to walk 45 minutes to get to the library to post this, but I'm here, and that's all that matters! I got your post notification on the walk to the library, but I can't read it because it refuses to load up here in the middle of East Bumfuck, so I think next time I plan to come here, I'm going to have to start binding our stories as books so that I have some form of entertainment between teaching archery courses and meal times. I swear, sitting around in between groups is like a new form of torture with this heat. It's been straight 80s-90s with heat indexes pushing it into the 100-105 range. I thought I was tan, to begin with, but now I look like the afterpicture of some cheese-filled recipe you find online - crispy and golden brown. I swear, I'm going to end up melting out here.

Anyway, enough about camp and the blistering heat!

I didn't realize it would be so damn hard to work on one story at a time when I have ideas for two completely different stories bouncing around in my head. Now that I'm away from home and have nothing other than notebooks to write my ideas in, I'm realizing just how screwed I am, as ideas for everything under the sun have been vying for my attention. I swear, it's like a volleyball game with my last shred of a brain cell as the ball. STDP is obviously one with 33 pages of the next "episode" done while I'm still in the beginning stages of the chapter, but Camp Wanamaker 2: Electric Boogaloo has been bouncing around in the background like a child hopped up on sugar. That's probably not going to be the official title, by the way, but that's what I've been referring to it as, so that's what I'm calling it until I decide what else to call it 🤣

I'm also constantly pestered with ideas for three other stories - True Colors (Through the Valley sequel), The Mark of the Archer (Percy Jackson AU), and Unsinkable (a super long one-shot, Titanic AU I've talked about before). As these all require a lot of research (the last of the three being part of the birthday surprise I was going to work on for you as it's very Carrie/Miles-centric), they'll require more time to be worked on when I get home at the end of the month, but where I've already started on STDP and parts of CW2, I don't think they'll make an appearance for a while, especially not the multi-chapter ones.

In the meantime, I'm definitely going to be working on STDP as it's my primary story right now, but I'm working on CW2 in little bursts on my phone when someone with a hotspot stops to chill with me - writing down ideas and quotes and working on one chapter that's been gnawing at the bars of its cage for a long time now lmao. Like I said, I have notebooks, but carpal tunnel sucks, and I have to take a lot of breaks from writing STDP. Now, while you wait for me to get home from camp and write out more, I have a gift! Alongside my chapter title ideas (and a few of my side notes for a few lmao) that I plan on incorporating into a few stories when the time comes, I'm also giving you a random snippet I enjoyed writing that will go into CW2 further down the line and two other snippets - one from STDP and the other from CW2. None of them have been edited yet, and I think I wrote some parts more in the present tense than I normally do, but that's just how I do it sometimes when I'm scribbling things out, so I guess you could consider this your warning so you won't be too thrown off by that. Also, I left them a bit vague for a reason, and I won't say which one belongs to which story, but I'd love to see if you can figure out what belongs where. Besides, I'm always up for a bit of light torture, so enjoy!

Didn’t one of the articles quote from an inside source that Max was leaving indefinitely? Indefinitely meaning for an unspecified amount of time. Could be slightly Linda Henryesque where he will be coming back but they just don’t know when yet. I’d they did axe him because of his mh, behaviour, whatever (I really don’t like to speculate) they could be giving him time to ‘sort himself out’ before returning?

I haven't got the foggiest idea, darling. I don't like to speculate either, but I just can't help it after all that's happened. I, too, would like to believe that this is a twisted way to give Max an extended leave, but I very much doubt it for two main reasons:

1 - the way EE handled the news was disgusting, what with them blaming it all on Max and his behaviour OFF SET (when other actors are still employed after much worse offences). If the break were consensual and the plan was for him to return at some point, I'm quite sure the PR team would have come up with a less hurtful explanation (I know, it was The Sun, but I'm convinced they were fed by somebody inside EE with CC's permission). So... no, I reckon this isn't them being nice to Max giving him time to sort himself out. He isn't coming back (*cries like a baby*).

2 - Ben and Callum have had an incredibile growth both individually and as a couple. They are in a good place right now, meaning soap producers and writers simply don't know what to do with them plot-wise. The depiction of the rest of their life together I have described in a previous post can't happen in a soap IMHO, because - let's be honest - we're not talking about Dickens here, those writers don't have the skills or the time to write them in a way that is wholesome, true to character AND interesting for the general audience. It's always about the drama - violence, dirty secrets, cheating, crime, fighting, teenage pregnancies, conspiracies... the unhealthier the better. The only unhealthy thing in Ballum's life at the moment is Jay with PR. Callum and Ben are learning how to deal with their issues instead of reacting impulsively and their connection is the strongest it's ever been. See? Nothing juicy to narrate here...

You know, after the rape, it was clear they were planning a "reset" for Ben, and I was thrilled to see where it was going. I was silly enough to think it would be something entertaining and educational to watch at the same time. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely loved bad boy Ben Mitchell, he is a splendid specimen of Byronic hero. I was just curious to find out how they would shape a reformed, healing troubled soul. Max would have rocked that as usual. How naive of me!

So, in my head, the meeting went like this. The bosses discussed the future of Ben with Max, informing him that Ballum would take seveal steps back, with either him or possibly Callum cheating, or Ben going back to being an unreliable dad to Lexi, or resorting to crime again, or some other nonsense utterly inconsistent with their recent development. Max protested just like John Krasinski did when "The Office" producers wanted Jim to cheat on Pam (which he would never do) because Max cares about Ballum. And the rest is history.

I am ROMANTICISING this, obviously. We'll never know what actually happened. But you'll see a devastating, hastily written exit story soon enough.

I full agree with you on all you've mentioned. And like I mentioned earlier that while I've not yet figured out what exactly happened with Kafka while was in those labs of the organization, it was far from a good time to put it simply.

Brain scans is a certainty, though they still call in experts just to be sure, better safe than sorry afterall. Not to mention they may even have ideas and solutions to how to help Kafka's mental recovery.

Blankets, pillows, bedsheets, mattresses you name it and its there somewhere in the nest Kafka's made. Ocassionally you'd even find Mina, Soshiro, Okonogi and other officers that Kafka has become close too sleeping with him, especially if it is one of those rough nights. Bakko too can be seen sleeping with the big himbo from time to time. The tiger as been spending a lot of time with the himbo since he follows Mina everywhere and has some to like Kafka over time.

It was quite the sigth when Mina got a message to come to Kafka's room and saw Kafka have Bakko in his lab and petting the tiger who was purring up stroms. Which cause Kafka to purr on instinct as well. She could not help but take a picture.

They even installs some speakers in the room that solely play music for Kafka. Or broadcast news and such from a raido so Kafka has some more entertainment and normalcy too. Getting him something to watch tv on though is going to take a while. Especially since the higher ups aren't too keen yet to allow such at thing to begin with.

And thanks to the various tests he goes through, everyone learn earily on about Kafka fortitude level, along with the other canon powers he has. And gets the traning to control them when they get the news Kafka is allowed to live and becomes part of the Defense Force.

But while all this is going on, a certain mushroom kaiju gets to know about the organization. And while quite late in gather much thanks to Defense Force being quite thorough in their raids and taking everything the can. The mushroom nonetheless gets enough to become quite curious about it all. Which is never good for anyone really.

Here I have also not planned much at all either. How No 9 is going to react or what his going to do once he finds out about Kafka. Neither am I sure how to handle No 10 for that matter either, but he is a lot easier to predict than No 9 is.

And then theres the matter of the public as well. One way or another, something is going to happen that forces the Defense Force to let Kafka help out in the public. And its going to be a huge pain in the ass when it happens. Not to mention chaotic given not everyone is very happy to know there a 9.8 fortitude kaiju thats allowed to live and thinks the Defense Force has lost their damned minds.

But hey, at least he know has his No 8 title. Along with a few others that the public will give him over time.

The more normalcy and comfort Kafka can have, the better. His situation is essentially a quote from Duncan Rossnblatt in the Firebreather movie. 'Am I human? Or am I kaiju?'

No.9 will definitely make his situation a whole lot worse. A human being turned into a kaiju is very interesting as he doesn't know Tiny, the larval kaiju, is involved. Only experiments done with gene splicing since the anime does show No.9 can hack into the Defense Force's systems to an extent. I won't be surprised if the mushroom man wants to recreate it.

No.10 rather test his strength against Kafka obviously. Although he probably goes through his own character arc once in Defense Force custody as Soshiro ain't gonna take his shit. The himbo here is quite different from his canon counterpart.

Kafka's behavior in public will be very important. There is obviously a media shitstorm coming so it's best he doesn't paint himself a threat. Plus the Defense Force can keep his existence hidden forever as it will come out eventually. Taking steps to handle the scenario early is the best thing to do.

Okay, so is he building/ creating new bodies and they keep wearing out? Or is he still using Solar Flare's body and it's failing? Because the idea of him making bodies and them just decaying under the weight of the star's power to the point that he's racing to make new forms to sustain it sounds REALLY cool to me.

Like, the way he

He's dying. He's in pain. He's on the ground, because he's exhausted. But when the AI tells him there's a problem, he pulls himself up anyway. He's still insistent he can do everything himself? It was almost desperate sounding.

I dunno. I kinda, like,

It reminded me of Sun. A little bit.

So way the heck back, right after Eclipse 'killed' Solar Flare, there was this really tiny moment where Solar Flare broke through again and Eclipse was like 'I'm still working on eradicating his code completely. It'll be finished soon or something.' but we never really 100% got confirmation that Solar Flare died died, so I'm not super surprised they're back. I won't say I anticipated it, I forget about Solar Flare a lot (poor dude got five minutes of screen time rip) but I'm not surprised because that small moment explicitly left it up in the air that they were probably alive.

Good for them. Good for Solar Flare. This is a concrete attempt at taking Eclipse down and one of the most solid attempts I've seen so far. Taking Eclipse out while he's weak. Solar Flare is stuck in Eclipse's body, scattered and ruined but still kicking, and they're gonna make that Eclipses problem. They got handed a short end of the stick but by god their gonna make sure to use what they got.

We got so little of Solar Flare, for meta and lore reasons alike, so this feels like a vindication for the character. A 'Your time to shine was taken from you unfairly for reasons out of your control, so this? This is for you.'

He's nervous about confronting Solar Flare. He's unsure of himself, which is so cool to see from a character like Eclipse who is usually so self-assured in the way he talks, in the way he carries himself. He's running on empty, time is running out, and he KNOWS it. He's fumbling.

Which changes completely when he turns and starts talking to the AI! Before he goes into his mindscape.

That annoyance! That bravado! That smooth talking confidence! IS he working himself up to talk to Solar Flare? Is there some other reason he's nervous? It was a very distinct change in demeanor.

One one hand, I like specific numbers. I'd like to know how many uses Eclipse has out of the star.

On the OTHER hand

ANY use of the star could be his last. So now we, as the viewers, are sitting here waiting to see which Jenga block is the one that topples the fuckin tower and isn't that just SO MUCH MORE ENTERTAINING??

Also, quick aside, what IS Eclipse doing with the Star? Like, we've only seen him use it a couple times right? We've seen him teleport, he wiped everyone's memories of himself and Sun and Moon and replaced them and he's teleported other people. He's GOT to be doing something else with it if he's at the point that he's right at the edge of irrevocably damaging himself. Right? Or is the star really just that draining?

He's banking on being scary. He HAS to be scary. IT's all he has, but Solar Flare can read him so easily.

Solar Flare is interesting. He started gaining self consciousness at the point he was 'killed'. but he was also still very much a product of his programmed functions. We left off with him taking the first steps towards full self-functionality like the rest of the animatronics but he never quite got the chance to fully blossom into his own person beyond being a robot. If... any of that makes sense.

It's cool that he's STILL THERE in terms of growth. He's been stagnated all this time inside Eclipse. He's still a robot, built for a coded purpose (protecting Killcode), still teetering on the verge of becoming more than that.

He could wipe Sun and Moon from the face of existence, eradicate even the memory of them, subject them to their worst torments for eternity for his amusement, tear apart worlds to fit his image, torment those who oppose him or even those who just perturb him. The star has always been upheld as this object of ultimate power and Eclipse has it IN HIS HANDS! ANY problem he has could be solved with the power of the star SO WHAT IS HOLDING HIM BACK??

He's been so affected by the people around him betraying him

His creators abandoned him. So he made others to love him. But they betrayed him because of who he was. And now he's worried everyone will. It folds into his plans, so much so he's afraid the AI he made to serve him will turn on him too.

I'm excited to see how he's going to give them 'false hope'.

Oh, Nathaniel, you finally activated the controls! I was wondering when you would do that. I'd say I was surprised, but I'm really not. Even after learning that not a single thought or action was your own for- what? Years? You try to control the machine yourself. Did you want a taste of their power? Did you want to feel in control for once?

Oh... Nathaniel. It's cute, really. Don't you get it? That machine won't do anything for you. You were just supposed to shut it off and go out the door. Be grateful that you're making it out of this office alive.

If you wanted to write your own story, you're going to have to pull a much bigger stunt than that. You really aren't as powerful as you think. Here, I think you'll find this relevant: Nathaniel suddenly realized that he'd mistakenly activated the system's emergency detonation. Should someone attempt to activate the machine without proper DNA identification, hidden bombs were set to detonate and destroy the entire building.

How long until then, huh? I'll give you... two minutes.

Oh, wow, this is so much more entertaining, don't you think, Nathaniel? Now's your chance to go do something big! You're the focus here! I'm really throwing the reins to you; you can choose where this story goes.

This is a lot funner than what I was originally thinking! Shame that we only have two minutes to savor it.

Only seconds until those bombs explode, but how precious each one is! That's time to talk about you, me, the direction we're going, the meaning of this all... where should I begin?

"Where- where are my coworkers? I want to know where they all went."

Your coworkers! A bit of consolation before everything burns? Why not? I'm feel like being a nice person. You'll be dead soon anyway. I'll tell you where they went, Nathaniel: I got rid of them. That machine? I shut it off and set you free.

Well, that was only one version of the story. Sometimes when I tell it, I just let you sit in your office forever, pressing buttons and ultimately dying alone. Or I let the earth swallow this building, consuming everyone inside. Or I let it go up in flames.

But, you know, this storyline has been really entertaining. Watching you try to wrap your head around all this and take back the control denied to you... it's very amusing. I almost hate to see it end!

Oh, well. I'm certain whatever I create on the next round will be even greater.

Hey, look! Only thirty-four seconds left... but I'm having such a blast! You know what? Let's put some more time on the clock; why not?

These additional seconds are priceless, Nathaniel. Time waits for nobody!

Well, that's a little rude. What's wrong, Nathaniel? Do you have no idea what to do or where to go? Or did seeing that timer make you believe that something here could stop it?

Just look at you, going from buttons to screens to doors, clicking on every little thing! While you've been very quiet these past minutes, I can guess at your thoughts: Something here has to work! Something, anything, will save me!

You wanted to control this game; I respect that. But I'm destroying it first, because I can't let you do that.

Pay it Forward

I have finished doing my income taxes and will be sending it off this week. (Yes I am old school and still fill out the forms in hard copy). To me this is a thankless, repetitive, unnecessary job we have to do every year with no rewards. What's that you say? You are getting back a refund and that is a reward? Think about the word you just used: refund. You are getting back money you should not have spent in the first place. The government sort of saying 'oops' we took your money and should not have, all the while keeping their fingers crossed you do it wrong and end up giving them even more.

Let's be clear here. | firmly believe we all have to pay taxes. This is how we get services like health care and other things I don't take advantage of, but I hear they are good nonetheless. Would it not be simpler if there was a flat percentage that everyone paid? We would not have to do this exercise every year. The only downside I can see is it would put a lot of people working for revenue Canada out of work but the savings for that alone could lower our taxes. To quote Spock 'the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.' (I was feeling philosophical here)

What's that you say? What about the extra income people make on the side that must be declared so those taxes can be collected? Do you honestly believe the money being earned this way is even being declared? That is why it is called under the table. They use it for booze so they can drink themselves under the table with joy because they didn't pay taxes.

This was a long preamble that has nothing to do with the point I want to get at. We do pay all these taxes but have no say in how the money is spent. Just in case this is my first blog you are reading I will explain that I have some ideas I would like to share on how that money should be spent. What I wrote above was something I had to get off of my chest because I was frustrated with my taxes. Here are some thoughts on how our hard earned tax dollars could be put to good use.

Friday could become pie day. Each month all seniors get a coupon in the mail for every upcoming Friday for the next month that can be redeemed anywhere for 1 free pie. Why? I like pie. This could even be broadened to include pizza because, well technically they are called pizza pies.

Build a wall at our southern border to keep those pesky Americans out.

Set up schools for kids starting at the age of three (we want them out of diapers) training them in hand to hand combat. Once they get to regular school they should still get one class a day in it until they are finished high school. This would make us the most feared country in the world because no one would expect our 'friendly' citizens to be able to kick their butts.

Set up secret facilities to perfect and build space craft so that when the Earth is ruined by the other idiot countries refusal to stop pollution, or they blow it up in warfare, we can be long gone living on a planet that has no snow.

Bring back Eaton's just don't let that family anywhere near it. We need a feel good story nationally.

If Petro-Canada is for Canadians and the revenues go to Canada remove the taxes built into the price at their stations. The increase in customers going there because it is the cheapest gas in town will more than cover the loss of tax revenues. You say this is unfair and illegal? Change the law.

Build water bottling plants across the country. We could own the world. Give them cool names like Alberta Gold (although it better not be yellow or people won't buy it) or claim it is pure from frozen icebergs (who can check). No one else could match our volume of production. If you've got it, flaunt it.

Give every adult one free lottery ticket a month. Might be something, might be nothing but the anticipation alone is entertaining and what is better than entertaining the masses. (void in the province of Quebec)

Pay to have 10,000,000 immigrants to come to our country to live. Think of all the extra spin off business opportunities, plus more taxes. What could go wrong here?

Overall, I believe there are a lot of missed opportunities for our tax dollars. There must be something better to spend it on than that art sculpture at the front of the University of Waterloo that looks like a giant turd.

THOUGHT OF THE WEEK: Tax money is good if it is well spent. Our problem is that this rarely occurs.

Small thoughts I have for the Aliens movie franchise ft. AVP and it's sequel (Spoiler free):

Alien (1979) - A classic horror sci-fi movie. It may not be scary to me anymore, but a couple of jumpscares and claustrophobic space can rise the fear factor. The acting is great, and the sense of dread sets the tone for how tragic yet dark this story can turn, with its themes revolving around the alien itself.

Aliens (1986) - Another classic you can't ignore. Not only does it set a standard for Sci-Fi movies as a whole, but it really sets a standard for being more of a horror survival movie rather than a horror action movie but I digress. I won't spoil much but you just got to have to watch it, you'll laugh, you'll get scared, and you'll be high on adrenaline from the non-stop action between aliens and marines.

Alien 3 (1992) - I just rewatched it recently, and I would say that this movie is just missed potential written all over it. They made some major changes that I really did not like, and the new characters were very boring to me. It's not awful by any means but take this movie with a grain of salt.

Alien Resurrection (1997) - This movie is so bad it's good. Straight up hot dog water. It's like a train wreck that just keeps going but you want to see how it ends. Similar to Alien 3 it had a lot of missed potential, but goodness gracious I don't even know if you could call this miss potential. Matter of fact I wouldn't even call it wasted potential it's just painfully weird.

AVP: Alien Vs. Predator (2004) - A flawed movie but really fun. It keeps you entertained and adds more into the alien and predator mythos. It makes the continuity a little confusing, but it's a fun ride from beginning to end which sets up for a very dark sequel.

AVP: Alien Vs. Predator Requiem (2007) - This movie is too damn dark, like seriously you can barely see anything in this movie when it's the night time scenes. The characters are forgettable, nothing much to say about them. But I will say I love the the idea of a story taking place in a small town overrun by two alien species duking it out and the townspeople are trapped in the middle of it.

Prometheus (2012) - There really isn't much to say about Prometheus sadly. It's an okay movie with some beautiful effects and cgi, but the themes were way too heavy-handed. It gets even more weirder when you find out the antagonist motivations which... *sigh* your just gonna have to watch it for yourself.

Alien Covenant (2017) - I want my last two hours back, this movie was very disappointing, and they made TOO many retcons. The quote on quote antagonist of the movie, if you can even call him that, has one of the weirdest motivations despite what he wants with the Xenomorphs. Watch this with caution.

Alien Romulus (2024) - Finally. We return to peak. Like the previous movies before it I do have issues with the heavy handed themes, but even then the story really flows well in connection to the alien movies. You'll be scared out of your seats and clutching your pearls. It's a suspenseful ride from beginning to end with surprises that will leave you in fear.

° He respected your privacy even if the temptation of knowing every little thought you have was very very strong, he held back and let you write in peace. However, when you dropped your journal without knowing. Han held it and the temptation took over.

° As you had a chat with Seungmin, he turned around from your eye sight and flipped through the pages. Many of them expressing how much you love him and how much he helped you without him even knowing. This effected Han immensely.

"Hannie are you crying?" you questioned, noticing the forming gloss over his sparkling chocolate orbs.

"Yeah, but it's happy tears. I just never knew how much you cared about me, and it makes me feel important." He explained.

° You cannot hide anything from this adorable koala, he knows you too well and can find anything you've hidden from him.
