a/n: Hey guys. This is going to be a bit longer than my usual notes, but I feel like I should explain why I've been gone for so long and why this story is a lot sadder than my usual ones. My community has been riddled with tragedy recently as we've lost a lot of people to suicide this past year, some of which have been as young as middle school age. One of my friends died by suicide a couple months ago. I can't express to you guys how hard it's been trying to deal with the pain and the guilt his death has caused me and my loved ones. So many days have passed where I wish I could've been a better friend for him while he was here. It hurts more knowing that other people are hurting too. Writing this was the best way for me to cope for many reasons. I wanted to write about how I'm feeling and honor my friend in some way even if it's through a silly little fanfiction. I know I'm late, but I also wanted to honor one of my favorite characters, Tony Stark as he canonically died this past October. That being said, if you are struggling please, I implore you, talk to someone. There are so many people on this planet who would be so torn without you. My dms are always a safe space if you need anything at all <3
Also I'd like to thank Gracie Abrams for her music that I had on repeat the entire time I was writing this. I hope you like it!
“I am Iron Man.”
The words replayed in your head, over and over like a broken record with no one to turn it to a new tune. That’s exactly how you felt. So alone in your grief that even if miraculously every wish you'd ever made in the whole of your existence had been granted, it still wouldn’t be enough to make you happy again. To make you feel anything besides the constant regret and incessant grief that anchored you down as you wasted away in your bed.
It had been exactly a week since the passing of the great Tony Stark. Everyone else in the compound had mourned their coworker, riddled by a somewhat lesser version of your sadness for only a few days after his death. It’s not as if their grief had been washed away as if it never stained their cheeks with tears or weighed down their hearts with sorrow, but it eased much quicker than yours and before long they could continue their duties. Everything was so much harder for you because Tony hadn’t just been a coworker. He was your father.
You relieved every memory you had of him like bittersweet torture. You remembered when he held you as a little girl, wiping up a bloodied knee. When he discovered you had powers and helped you control them. Later on when he banned you from joining in on the Avenger’s Civil War and afterwards when he thanked you for sneaking in to help anyway. You could almost feel his comforting embrace as if it was only yesterday that he was assuring you before a failed battle against the mad Titan Thanos, the same one that left you dusted and missing your father’s last five years on Earth. And finally, of course, you remember his last moments all too well. It played out before you like the tragic ending of a stage play.
“Let me do it,” you shouted over the sound of war cries and carnage that surrounded you on the packed battlefield. “I can take it!”
You were almost certain that your power, your immeasurable magic, could handle the debilitating strength of the Infinity Stones making you the most reasonable choice for snapping Thanos and his army out of existence, but your father refused to risk losing his eldest.
“No,” he breathed, the metal plate shielding his chest rising and falling from the heat of the action. There was only one way to succeed, only one way to put a stop to the destruction of the universe. It had to be him. “I won’t risk losing you, not while you’re still so young. You have so much life ahead of you.”
“Not without you!” you cried, a tear streaming from your eye.
There wasn’t much time for your conversation as the world was moments away from being wiped of its human history, but despite the odds your father pulled you into a tight hug, as if he knew it would be the last. You both did.
“You are the strongest person I’ve ever known and I’m so proud of what you’ve become already.” he smiled when you finally pulled apart.
“I need you dad,” you sobbed, still reluctant to let him leave you. With the threat of his death, suddenly Thanos’ defeat didn’t matter anymore. Not nearly as much as having your father by your side. “I’m not ready.”
Your dad looked down on you with the saddest of smiles, but if any part of him was upset about his decision, he made no other hint toward it. He just held you close for as long as possible and comforted you in the way that you could always count on him for. In the way, it hit you, that you could never count on him for again. But yet, in the face of death, he cradled you close and spoke in his signature fatherly tone: assertive yet on the edge of softness.
“No one’s ever ready -,” he answered truthfully. “- but I know you can handle it. You always do.”
You looked up at him as he finally pulled away and headed towards the purple giant, but not before turning to you for one final declaration.
“I love you, junior, to the edge and back again.”
And then he was gone. You never got the chance to say it back.
Yours was the last name he uttered before his heart stopped beating and the light on his suit went out. By then Pepper had already said her goodbyes and you both were huddled close to his body, weeping as the other Avengers knelt around you in honor of your father. Peter was hunched behind you, one hand on your shoulder while the other worked to wipe away his own tears. Oh Peter, you had your father to thank for him.
It was Tony who was credited with setting you up with your long term boyfriend, Peter Parker, even if it was a complete accident. You two had gotten acquainted on a fateful plane ride to Germany and eventually ended up together after many failed attempts at confessing your feelings. There was something about him that had you smitten with him from your first encounter, your liking only strengthened when you learned that your father approved. He’d been with you through thick and thin and even now, Peter was the only person who could even remotely share your pain besides Pepper. Tony was like his father too.
He’d taken care of you ever since the incident. Brought you food and water, helped you dress in your black attire for the funeral, laid with you in your bed each night to calm you whenever you awoke in a nightmarish terror. He showed his love for you prevailing over his grief in the most selfless of ways and yet all you had managed to do since you father’s funeral was stand to use the restroom every once in a while. It piled on more weight that your poor soul could already take. You were nothing, but a miserable burden now.
The door to your room opened with squealing hinges as Peter stepped in, returning from school where he had spent the morning reuniting with your shared friends and finding out when the official return date was. You were supposed to join him, but instead you hadn’t moved an inch since he left. It wasn’t as if you wanted to waste the entire day in your lonely sheets again. You yearned for everything to go back to how it was; when Peter was happy and you could share it with him. When your father used to smile upon the two teens he didn’t mean to bring together. When your father was alive.
“Hey,” he said, softly as if not to startle you from your endless torturous pondering. He set something down on your dresser, a small stack of papers he must have gathered from the school, and removed his fall coat before sauntering over to you. The bed creaked and shifted under his weight as he took a seat next to you. “Good news, we don’t have to go back until the next semester so we get a break until January. Ned was asking about you. He wants to know how you’re doing.”
You turned your head to look at him, your eyes red-rimmed from all of your crying and your lips cracked and dry.
“What did you tell him?” you croaked, your voice hoarse from under use. There was little to talk about and no one else to talk to whenever Peter wasn’t around. Pepper had visited you once, but with Morgan to look after, she couldn’t spare much time for her late husband’s grieving daughter. You’d seen Happy a couple times as well, but he needed his own time to recover and reflect on his past time with his best friend.
Peter was gentle as he tucked some of the hair strands snot cemented to your jaw behind your ear and cupped your cheek in his palm. He was cold from the autumn chill outside, but his hand ignited the same soothing heat that his touch always brought forth.
“I said you were recovering,” he answered truthfully. “And that it’s different for everyone. And no matter how long it takes, I’m here for you every step of the way.”
The ghost of a smile graced your lips and had it not felt like it stopped beating after losing your father, your heart may have fluttered in its cavity in your chest.
“Thanks Peter,” you curled closer to him in the most sincere of ways. “But I’m afraid it’s going to be a while before I can get up to see Ned again. Give him my best.”
“Take your time. I’m sure he understands.” Peter assured before pulling off his flannel and laying down beside you to wrap you in his arms, allowing you to tuck your face in his chest. As unhappy as you were, all the swirling emotions of suffering were always suppressed by the sound of Peter’s heart and the feel of his body around yours. You stayed like that for a while, holding each other before Peter broke the silence as it neared time for your midday meal.
“I think you should come with me today,” Peter suggested, rising to run his daily lunch retrieval before running a loving hand through your hair. You couldn’t understand how he hadn’t gotten sick of you yet. You hadn’t been able to wash in over a week. “It’s not good for you to stay here all day long. You need to start moving.”
His voice was full of worry, though he wasn’t overbearing. He wanted the best for you, it’s all he ever wanted really.
“I don’t know Peter, I don’t think I can.” you sighed as tears started to fill your eyes again. How could anyone stand to be around you when you were being so pathetic. You wished there was a way to erase your pain, anything to bring you to your normal self again.
“It's okay baby,” Peter hugged you into a tight embrace, kissing your tears as they fell in slow salty streams. “I know it hurts, I feel it too. But I read somewhere that the best thing to do is keep a consistent routine. Maybe you should start today. Come get lunch with me.”
You wanted to agree, but there was no part of you that could move from the weight of your grief. It pressed you down, gravity multiplied by the mass of your sadness as it consumed you. It felt as if only a miracle could save you now.
“I’m so sorry.” you stated with remorse, but Peter made no move to share his disappointment if he had any at all. Instead he leaned down from his seated position and placed his lips on your forehead, a gesture as if to say that all was alright.
“Please don’t cry, y/n. It’s okay.” he assured you before standing to leave and get you something that you figured you probably wouldn’t even eat very much of.
“I’ll be right back,” he promised, turning the handle of your door to leave before looking back at you sprawled on your bed. Suddenly, as if he had recalled the cure to the rainiest of days, he expression shifted to one of great excitement as he stopped back into your room.
“I almost forgot,” he began. “Doctor Strange was here earlier. He wanted me to tell you he’s offering some meditation sessions for you if you’re interested. He said they’d be good for your powers and that they might help you feel better if you want to think about it. He’s free at 8 tomorrow.”
You nearly perked up at the sound of the man’s name, picking up your head to cast a last longing glance at Peter as he waited for a parting word.
“Thanks,” you managed. “I’ll let you know.”
And off Peter went to get you both something to eat.
You weren’t sure if he knew how dangerous it was for you to be left with your thoughts, how the mention of the magic doctor sprouted a myriad of mystical ideas all aimed at the same goal that would erase your eternal lonesome aching. How to bring your father back. By the time Peter returned with his hands full of two homemade sandwiches and more sweets than the two of you could ever finish in one sitting, your mind had been made up and you were ready to set the plan in motion.
The following evening was your first time out of the confines of your rooms for days. Peter had helped you greatly with all the tasks you did not have the mental power to do all on your own. He had brushed your hair and made your bed and before you left in one of the less expensive cars held on Avenger’s campus, he sent you off adorned with one of his favorite sweatshirts, a peck on the forehead and enough I love you’s to last more than a lifetime.
You pulled the sleeve of Peter’s sweatshirt over your palm as you drove off, using the cloth to wipe away fresh tears that had fallen after you left your boyfriend’s loving gaze. You’d always been an overthinker, but your bad habits crept up on you worse in your unbreakable stage of sadness. Especially in your father’s favorite car.
You didn’t understand why he hadn’t left you already. Maybe he would. Peter had offered to join you at Strange’s, but after you insisted you had to go alone, he made plans to go help his Aunt May figure out their apartment situation as the pair had been inadvertently kicked out after being gone for so many years. You’d almost forgotten he used to split his nights between the compound and his own bedroom. Recently he’d only stay with you.
He promised to be back before dinner so that the two of you could keep up your progress, but an unsolicited voice within you convinced you that he wouldn’t want to return. You weren’t good enough for him anymore, not like you used to be. Your plan was better for the both of you and as you pulled up to the familiar building on Bleecker Street, all the pieces started to fall into place.
You stepped up to the door, raising your fist to knock only for the door to crack open by itself as if to invite you in. You waited for the familiar sternness of Doctor Strange’s voice to greet you once you were past the stone floored foyer, but only wisps of the autumn breeze caught your ear.
“Strange?” you called, your voice still not stable enough to be louder than a whispery dialogue. You were met with no response. It was just like you had planned. The wizard wasn’t home.
You felt a strong tug towards the room of your desires, the forbidden library. It was as if fate was leading you or some other force from above, another sign that you were meant to do it.
Your steps were more sure than they had been in days as you made your way to the self, passing any magical fire walls with the sheer unfiltered strength of your powers. Strange once told you that they were guided by your emotion, the quintessential essence of every magic holder even to people like you and Wanda Maximoff who were outside of his world protecting wizard cult. It was easier than it should have been, like slicing paper with a katana, you broke each enchantment until all that was left was the cool leather cover of the book you were looking for. The book with every answer you needed inside its ancient yellowing pages, but you only needed the spell that would revive your father. Locating it near the middle of the book, your tore out the page and turned back to your car, leaving the Sanctum with the same unhurried pace you had entered it with. There was no stopping you now.
Peter was only an half an hour late for your agreed meet up time when he arrived at the campus. He expected you’d be in your room as per usual and as he made his way to your door, the excitement of getting to hold you and talk about your first day out of the campus since the funeral built up in his chest. He wasn’t sure if any accomplishment in the world could make him as proud as he was of you. With two brown paper bags of groceries in his hand, he couldn’t wait to shower you in the affection that you deserved with all of your favorite snacks, enough to share of course.
“Y/n,” he smiled, using his webbing to open your door handle only to find, much to his disappointment, that you were nowhere to be found.
He checked all over campus, leaving the bags by your bed. No one had seen you since you’d left and the spot where the car you’d taken was still empty, the normally pristine concrete covered in fallen crisp maroon leaves. It didn’t make any sense. Where could you possibly have gone?
“Y/n!” he called, circling the perimeter of the campus looking for you. There was still no sign of your reappearance. “Y/n- oh. Hi Ms. Maximoff.” Peter forced a strained smile as he nearly bumped into the woman.
“Peter, we’ve been over this,” Wanda answered, her voice calm. “You can call me Wanda.”
Like you, the witch hadn’t been doing the best in recent days as she had lost something just as valuable as a father: her partner. While she occasionally had days where the ground would’ve been lucky to feel the grace of her step, her superhero duties had kept her from spending each day hidden from society. She had a different way of coping, but like others, she seemed to start getting back into routine again.
“Right, sorry Wanda.” Peter apologized.
“What are you doing out here?” inquired the witch in her native Sokovian accent, always intuitive. “Is something wrong?”
“It’s y/n. I can’t find her anywhere and we agreed to meet back here nearly - an hour ago!” Peter pulled up his coat sleeve to check the time on his watch, the face of which bore a picture of him and your father from only a few months before the snap. It had been a birthday gift, one of his favorites in fact, though it couldn't top what you had given him the same year: a lego set and your first kiss.
“I didn’t know that she got out of bed. That’s a big step!”
“Yes it is and we were going to celebrate tonight, but she hasn’t come back yet which is really not like her.” worried Peter.
“Where did she go?”
“Strange’s. He was going to give her a meditation lesson for her powers.”
Confused, Wanda's eyebrow furrowed and she crossed her arms over her chest. “Doesn’t she know how to use them already?”
“Yes, but he thought it would help her manage her grief. Working out is a pretty common method, but she hates going to the gym so he figured some meditation would be better for her and -“
“Wait, hold on. Did she go to him this morning?”
“Yes and she was supposed to be back around noon, but it’s nearly six and she’s still gone.” Peter explained.
“Peter!” Wanda chided. She couldn't believe he could make such a grave mistake.
“What?”
“Strange hasn’t been at the Sanctum all day!”
“What?! Where is he?”
“Do I look like a wizard to you?" the witch gestured to her casual leggings and cardigan pairing that drastically differed from Strange's usual eccentric costumes. "How should I know?”
As if summoned by the topic of conversation, a figure appeared in the distant grass, hovering over the blades until he was close enough to be able to walk. His cape that flowed in the breeze like a blood red stream with a mind of its own was a dead give away. Doctor Strange had indeed arrived in the flesh.
“Parker,” he greeted, though he did not smile. “Is Ms. Stark ready for our lesson?”
Peter’s eyes went wide as he realized his mistake.
“Oh no.” he muttered, shaking his head in defeat. He was met with confusion from the wizard.
“No?” Strange repeated. “We agreed upon 8 didn't we? I know I'm a little early, but I assumed she wouldn't be busy. Didn’t you let her know I was coming?”
“Yes,” Peter confirmed. “I told her to be ready and then I sent her off to your place at 8… am.”
“What?!” Strange exclaimed as he summoned a portal to appear leading directly to his found home on Bleecker Street. He stepped through the fiery ring, a silent invitation for the others to follow as he hurried passed your car, up the steps, and into the door which did not part of him the same way it had earlier. Inside he was met with the most frightful of discovers accompanied by the looming feeling of doom as the situation became clear.
The Sanctum, unguarded with his absence, lay littered with books that had fallen from their homes on his shelf’s yet one stood out from all the others. It laid on the floor open with its pages to the ground while every other book was shut. Levitating it with the simple flick of his wrist, a horrifying sight awaited Strange as he turned it over. One of the pages in the sacred book was missing.
“Do you know how serious this is?!” Strange exclaimed and although Peter at first took it as a barbed criticism aimed directly at him, he was able to distinguish Strange’s tone from when he was reprimanding. This was a separate kind of worry, the sort of tone that he had used heavily on the fated spaceship you three had been stuck in until you landed on Titan, Thanos’ home world, nearly five years ago. Treachery was afoot and if your powers were involved, the whole fabric of your current reality could change.
“Which one did she take?” Wanda pointed to the book, clearly noticing the giant tear in its center.
Strange’s voice answered, heavy with concern. “The revival spell.”
“You don’t think she knows, do you? She can’t possibly know how to conjure it.” asked Wanda, the same concern for their future written all over her face.
“That’s exactly what I think.” Strange confirmed.
“What?” Peter asked. “What are you guys talking about?”
“There are many types of magic, Parker, and the Sanctum, the building where you sent your girlfriend, is full of all of them, good and bad alike. Every spell comes with a price, the bigger the spell, the bigger the price and the spell she took comes with one of the biggest prices there is to pay.”
“Think about it, Peter,” Wanda paled. “What does y/n want most in the world right now?”
It hit Peter harder than fresh fallen hail. You were going to try to bring your father back.
“We have to find her. Now.”
Strange tried to use his sling ring to appear wherever you were, but in your grief, the extent of your powers had grown massively. Intentionally or not, you managed to prevent even the most powerful of wizards from using his Sling Ring to access your location.
“She's blocked me out.” Strange frowned. “We’re going to have to track her on foot.”
“She can’t be far,” Peter agreed. “She always takes the shortest path whenever she wants something.” It was one of the many things he loved about you: your ability to turn any taxing task into something much simpler. You were one of the cleverest people he knew. He just hoped it didn’t work in your favor this time.
It was Wanda who had the idea of tracking your magic. She led them to the nearest withering woodland area, where trees with bare branches and dying leaves sprawled endlessly. It was the perfect place to perform dark magic, away from the unyielding eyes of society. The trio didn’t hesitate to run in.
The further they got, the closer you felt especially to Peter despite the fact that he was the only one without his own source of magic. If he lost you tonight, he feared he’d never feel any sort of magic ever again.
They were only half an acre in when Wanda and Strange called out in anguish, the witch falling to her knees while Strange stayed standing, pounding the air with his fist as his trying to break through an invisible barrier though it was to no avail. Whatever was holding him back, it wasn’t fading anytime soon.
“Keep going, Parker!” he shouted, urging Peter forward. “You’re the only one who can stop her. The spell will only allow that which she loves.”
“How do I do it?” Peter shouted. “How do I stop the spell?”
“The page,” Wanda replied, quicker than Strange could as his reply was easy for her to access. “You have to tear it apart.”
Without wasting a second more, Peter sprung back towards where he could feel you, running without fatigue as his superhuman endurance supplied him with plenty of energy.
It was only a minute later that he caught his first sign of you. There was a break in the tree line out of which a bright amber glow poured like an incandescent warning. It was a dramatic contrast from the normal comforting emerald greens of your magic, but it was you nonetheless and Peter didn’t stop until he was so close he had to shade his eyes from the light.
If it weren’t for the dark nature of what you were doing, Peter would’ve considered it one of the most beautiful events he’d ever seen take place. He wasn’t sure if the circle of trees that surrounded you had been a natural formation or one you made for the sake of the spell, but he was sure the way they seemed to bend to your will, despite the hard wood of their birch trunks, had to be because of your power. In the center of it all was you and the page you had stolen atop a pile of purple and golden leaves. You stood before it, eyes closed as you whispered some sort of incantation. Your powers spread above you in orange flickering flames as you outstretched your arms and summoned what looked like the beginnings of a portal, though it was hard to peer through like a bride covered in a veil of night black.
Peter shouted your name, screaming for you to stop, but you didn’t so much as flinch as the portal grew. You couldn’t hear him over the force of your will. He could start to feel what Wanda and Strange were trapped behind. There was some sort of invisible wall that threatened to push him back from you, but he couldn’t be defeated. He had to stop you. Step by step, he got closer and closer to you, watching in horror as your body was lifted from the ground and floated in midair. A new energy started weeping through the fabric that covered your chest, soft and white like a sheer glittering fabric. It drifted towards the portal and as Peter neared you he could make out the outline of a face forming from it in the black center of it. It started to take shape, growing a neck and a body and becoming more concrete than a fragmented part of your energy. He became more unmistakable as the color grew back into his face. Tony Stark, in the flesh. Peter hurried towards the page.
You opened your eyes to gaze into the face of your father, tears flowing down your face partially from the exhaustion of bringing him back and from being able to see him again.
You tried to say something, tell him how much you had missed him, but you were left rendered without a voice. Your words came out as mouthed nonsense, though it seemed he had regained his voice.
“Y/n,” he uttered, though it seemed more like a warning than a greeting after being torn from you for so long.
You mouthed something you knew he’d understand. I love you too, dad.
Some other force called your name, but you ignored it. You couldn’t focus on anything else, but the father you had lost regaining life right in front of you. With every part that he gained, you felt a part of your fade. It wasn’t painful, more numbing than anything like the final dose to end all your sadness. You couldn’t help but relish in it. You were bringing back one of the greatest men to ever live.
You were so distracted, you missed the web that landed on the page below you and pulled it away.
“Y/n,” your dad said again, nearly having enough of one of his legs to step out of the portal when suddenly, the inky blackness swallowed him whole again and dissolved in the forest light, taking back the only thing you ever wanted.
“NO!” you cried as your voice returned to you and you fell back down to the dry grass and dead leaves, crumpled on the forest floor as all of the magic you had summoned faded away save for the glittering cloud that returned to your chest with such force it made you cough. You had failed.
“Y/n!” someone called and you shuddered away from their hand on your shoulder as loud sobs erupted from you.
“Leave me!” you begged. “Just leave!” Peter refused to leave your side, tossing behind him the page he had shredded into tiny scraps of paper as he knelt beside you, careful not to touch you again. “Why did you have to do that? Why did you take him from me?”
“You were going to die! I couldn’t let you di-“
“I WANTED TO DIE!”
Peter froze as you whimpered, the truth spreading above the both of you in the cold air like storm clouds as you cried to him.
“I want him back. Everyone wants him back. No one cares about his depressed daughter and I don’t want to hurt anymore, Peter.” you paused to take a deep breath. “It- it hurts so much.” you could barely get the words out as you were choked by your sobs. “It hurts knowing I could’ve saved him. It hurts knowing it should’ve been me that snapped those stupid stones. And I don’t want to live with that anymore. I had to try to bring him back for the world. It needs him more than it needs me.”
You brought a hand to your face, wiping away some of your tears, though it was no use as more came pouring out.
“I need you.” uttered Peter, looking into your glossy eyes. The sight of your tears and the echo of your screams couldn’t deter him from you. You can’t be repelled from the ones that you love.
“But you miss him, don’t you,” you argued as hot tears coated your face. “You want him back too.”
Peter nodded in agreement.
“I think about him everyday. Our moments together. Like this one time he saved me from drowning in a lake. Or-“ Peter grinned. “- remember when he caught us making out that one time before we told him we were together. He was so mad.” Peter smiled to himself, looking fondly on the memory until he began again.
“I miss him so much and it makes me so sad that I'll never see him again. But I wouldn’t trade you for him. I wouldn't trade you for anyone. You’re worth more to me than anyone else in the universe.”
Your sobs slowed yet the tears did not cease as they still cascaded down your face.
“It hurts me so much.” you restated.
Peter opened his arms. “May I?” he asked. You nodded and before you knew it, you were engulfed by a warmth unlike any other as Peter hugged you tight enough to make sure you wouldn’t try to leave him again.
“I know you do,” he related. "And I wish I could take it away. I wish I could just bag all your pain and throw it all away. But it doesn't work like that. It's going to hurt. It's going to be painful, so much so that you won't move from bed for days and days. You haven't."
"But I feel like everyone else has already moved on. Why can't I?" you shivered.
"No one else was as close to him as you. Everyone else lost a friend. You lost a father. There's a big difference. You can't expect yourself to move on from it. That's not healthy. It's just like I said, I'm here for you no matter how long it takes. You have to take your time with it, don’t rush the process." Peter pressed the lightest of kisses to one of your dampened cheeks.
"I just don't know what to do."
"Breathe."
As silly as it sounded in its simplicity you did as he instructed and inhaled deeply, allowing the air to coat your lungs that hadn’t been exposed to so much fresh air in a week. As you exhaled, you let out another sob in his arms, but somehow it felt better than all the others. You were not rid of your pain by any means and sadness still corroded your core, but for the first time in so long, you didn’t feel so hopeless. Peter placed another gentle kiss on your cheek, encouraging you as you took several more slow breaths and quiet cries until you found the strength to speak again.
“Was it like this for you when your parents died?” you wondered aloud as you pulled away from Peter to look into his chocolate brown eyes that you almost forgot you loved so much, yet not so far that he couldn't keep his arms around your frame that was still bearing his sweatshirt. You hadn’t spoken much about them before and while you weren’t sure where the question had arisen from, it felt like the right thing to ask.
“I was so young when they passed, sometimes I feel like they were never mine to begin with,” he admitted. “I took a couple days off school when it happened, but I don’t remember crying all that much. It’s tragic and sometimes it makes me sad that they’re gone, but I’m glad that it does. It’s a reminder that they were there for me in the first place, that I knew them enough to miss them. The grief is proof that I loved them while they were here.”
You were both silent for a moment as you thought about his words in relation to your situation. All your pain was put into perspective. Everything you had been through since he died, all the days you wasted away in bed, it was all the proof that you had loved him so much when he was alive and that you were still carrying the love you had left for him. You missed your father so much you were willing to die to get him back and for a moment, you almost did.
You parted from Peter’s arms to stand though you still grasped onto his hands as you weren’t strong enough to be upright on your own. You closed your eyes again and listened to the sound of the forest, the swaying of the leaves that still clung to their branches, the faint twittering of birds, and the calm of the sky that was oddly cloudless for autumn. The sound of your name falling from your father’s reformed lips was still faint in the air and for a moment you felt as though you were with him again.
You remembered when he taught you how to ride a bike one evening when you were only four. You remembered the day he pulled you from public school and started teaching you at home. You remembered the look of shock on his face when you showed him your powers for the first time and even more, you remember his pride when you completed your first mission with the Avengers (that he'd approved ahead of time to avoid any more Germany -like surprises). He wasn’t there, but at the same time he was everywhere. And you missed him, but at the same time the absence he left in your life felt less empty.
The tears came out in slow smooth streams, flowing down in slow trickles as you finally sat back down. You didn’t say anything and neither did Peter, but you knew he could feel what you felt. He could feel your father too and minutes slipped by as you sat and cried together.
There was a sudden rustling in the distance and soon enough, Doctor Strange and Wanda had arrived at the scene, no longer held back by invisible barriers. They rushed to you bringing flooding guilt through your system as you began to apologize.
“I’m sorry,” you cried. “I’m so sorry.”
Strange opened his mouth to speak, but he had nothing to say. You could tell by his expression that he was disappointed, but there was more to it. He had empathy.
It was Wanda that leaned down to place a friendly hand on your shoulder.
“Let’s get you home.”
The months following were some of the hardest of your life. Every battle you faced was uphill, but you no longer felt like you were fighting alone. You started going out again, first to visit Pepper and your half sister Morgan who lived in their cabin home. Peter joined you of course, but he played with Morgan for the most part while you and Pepper talked. You cried with her, but you laughed a lot too. She shared with you so many of her own memories, times when your father didn't know what to get you for your birthday, when he had managed to mess up cooking dinner in the strangest of ways, and when he’d accidentally burned your favorite stuffed animal in the drying machine all of which Pepper had to remedy. Though she hadn’t raised you, she was the mother you never had and through her stories you learned that your father had been just as good raising Morgan with her as he had been with you.
You hung out with Ned and MJ again shortly after that. While Peter had suggested a brief check-in at a cafe so you could go home quickly to rest, you surprised him with a much more time consuming idea: laser tag. The four of you had the best time targeting each other, you winning more rounds than any of the others. You ended the day with smoothies, talking as you drank and making plans for the next time you would all see each other. MJ made you promise you would text her if you ever needed anything and Ned gave you a whole plate of his Lola’s ensaymadas, your favorite dish of hers.
Finally, though he was locked up in his house and avoiding humanity, you visited Happy. Peter offered to join you like all the other times, but you assured him it would be best if he stayed home, promising you would return later. Happy was in a similar state of dismay to you when you saw him and while he was able to care for himself and continue with his personal routine, you could tell he was hurting.
You didn't say much when you first entered his apartment, but there was comfort within the silence. You sat with him on his sofa and watched whatever mind numbing program he had turned on to distract his thoughts until you had both worked up an appetite for lunch. It was there, in the middle of a random Burger King in Queens over a plate of cheeseburgers that you both broke down. You told him what you had nearly done, trusting him with the sensitive information as he was almost a second father to you. You took your time telling him the story of how you had nearly died to bring back your father.
Happy cried as you did and when you were finished, he told you how much you meant to him. He traded your story for one from your father after he returned from Afghanistan where he had famously been kidnapped.
"You could tell he was shaken," Happy began. "He told me he wasn't scared to die, but he was scared of losing time with you and leaving you alone. Pepper and I had been so busy trying to get him back, he was worried you had been neglected while he was gone. But when he came home and he saw your room clean, your toys put away, and a fridge full of leftovers from meals you prepared yourself, he was so proud. You inspired him to turn his life around. It was after that he told me that he knew you'd be okay if he was taken from us one day."
You both cried after that.
Long after you had finished your food, Happy drove you to the Parker's new apartment with the promise that he would be okay too, eventually. He also admitted that he was starting to develop quite the liking for your faithful boyfriend after hearing all that he had done for you, though he’d skin you alive if you ever told Peter.
It was that night in Peter's new bedroom that you knew you’d be okay. It still hurt to think of your father and you knew you’d never entirely recover and that the pain would never fully leave you, but there was a certain comfort in it now. You knew Peter felt it too as he snuggled half asleep into your side, his arm slung around your body in a protective manner, but also to keep from falling of the twin bed you shared as he let you sleep on the side with the wall. There were still days when you didn’t want to leave your bed, but there were also days when you felt more elated than ever. You could feel your father in those moments the most, like the shine of his smile took form in the light from the sun. You couldn’t see him nor could you speak with him, but you knew he wasn’t really gone. It was love that kept him around. And it was the love you carried for him that would suspend you for lifetimes, through light and dark until the end of time.
“I hope this grief stays with me because its all the unexpressed love” - Andrew Garfield 💙

literally cannot wait to hear you talk about how supernatural 0103 is just. entirely about john's character
i HAVE made a post on this before: i think that 1.03 dead in the water is actually john's introduction episode, told through the allegorical characters bill carlton, jake devins, and peter sweeney's mother. because the character dean imprints onto and relates to is lucas, but the focus of the character is on the parents, so the attention drifts away from dean and onto john to paint a picture for the audience of who he is in his physical absence.
and the episode reveals a lot of information about john that's confirmed later in the series: that he considers losing his children worse than dying (1.20); that he's aggressive and likes to maintain control over situations (also 1.20); that he will sacrifice himself to protect his kids (2.01); so on, so forth.
but i missed something originally—or rather, i couldn't figure out the true, intended meaning of this particular, poignant line from dean: "you can't bury the truth. nothing stays buried."
it's a pretty big line. it's obvious foreshadowing. but i did my first rewatch of season 1 six months ago while i was half-paying attention and i couldn't remember the finer details, so i moved on. but! this is a line about sam (it's always about sam in the end, isn't it?).
dean says this in response to jake and bill attempting to cover up peter's murder. it happens when sam and dean are literally digging up peter's bike which bill and jake had buried thirty-five years ago. these two men had a secret, and nothing stays buried.
john has a secret, too. he knows about sam's connection to azazel. we don't know how long, exactly, he's known this, but it's safe to say he's known that sam is the target of something evil since the night of the fire, and by the time we get to the mid-season episodes, john has figured out this something is a demon. by 1.21, we know that john knows there's a distinct, unnerving connection between sam and the yellow-eyed demon.
Tumblr media
and by 2.01, we know that john knows enough about all of this to understand what sam's destiny is and that he and/or dean are the only people who can prevent it.
he keeps all of this a secret, right up until the moment he dies. but no matter how hard he tries to keep the truth buried from his kids, it leaks out—sam has visions before jess dies; sam has visions of the house he was born in; meg comes after him to lure him away from dean; he finds max and realizes there are others like him; he finds meg again and she uses him as bait to kill john. and then there's the whole of season 2 on top of that.
it's a prophecy. you can't bury the truth. nothing stays buried. john was fighting a losing battle; the truth will always be found, and there was nothing john could do to stop sam from learning it, just like jake could do nothing to stop andrea from learning about the murder he committed three decades ago.
1.03 is about john, and it's about season 1. it's every step john will take from now until his death: from hiding the truth to watching it leak out from between his fingers to sacrificing himself to the monster to save his dying son. lucas is dean, jake is john, andrea is sam, and peter sweeney is azazel killing everyone around john and his kids until he's satisfied, until john offers up himself to bring his kid back from the dead.

always you - @wolfstarmicrofic
He was happy. And then he was not. One minute it felt like Christmas, but then he blinked, it was all gone. It finished abruptly, as quick as it started. They had sever years together—yet somehow it wasn’t enough. It was never enough.
He was happy. And then he was broken. One minute he felt like he can run a hundred marathon, purely fueled by the extreme happiness. The next thing he knows he's a broken heap of a mess in the bathroom floor.
He was broken. Though slowly, time happened—it hurt more and more everyday until it just no longer did.
He was happy. He was broken. And then he was numb. Much like a mindless shell, he lived throughout the days, weeks, months. For a while he was numb. It stopped hurting— they thought it was good. It wasn't. Sure, it stopped hurting, he stopped feeling hurt, but he stopped feeling anything altogether. He was a ghost in his own life.
He was numb. And then he started feeling again. It took time—though, however long? He was unsure. But time surely has passed. The world never stopped spinning after his happiness ended. He started feeling things again. At first, the hurt was there, but he started to deal. It took a while, but he began to heal.
One year turned to two. Then three. Four. Five. Six.
He was happy again. Not like he was before, but he was happy again. He met someone. And they were happy together. Still though, something was missing. He was smiling again. He fell in love again. Six turned to seven.
There was another person again. Seven turned to eight.
There was another person again. Eight turned to nine.
There was another person again. Nine turned to ten. This time there was none.
This time he's finally realised what was wrong. Why none of it worked. They loved him as much as he loved them.
Yet none of it lasted. It wasn't because they didn't love him enough. Not because they weren't compatible with him. Not because they cheated. Not because they raised some redflags. No, it's because none of them were him.
It's him isn't it? It's always gonna be him. He loved them, oh yes, of course he did. But it's not the same love he has for him. That love is something else. Yes, he loved them, but not as much as he loved him. Yes, he loved them, but deep down he never stopped loving him. That love he has for him is too powerful. No distance and no betrayal of any kind can tear that love apart.
He cried. Again and again and again and again.
He cried. For the first time he admitted to himself how much he longed for him. He hated himself for it.
What would James and Lily think?
There he was ten years later, still in love with the man who betrayed him and their bestfriends. He handed James and Lily's life to Voldemort. Peter died in his hands. Harry is orphaned.
Remus was left all alone.
He was all alone, and all he wanted was Sirius.

Not sure if you're actually interested in talking more about this, but I'm jumping in anyway because I relate so hard to being confused about the spiderverse timeline. Not only did everything about the society and Miguel happen fast, but a bunch of other stuff don't add up either? Like.
The first film takes place in early December 2018 according to Miles' test (if we can trust that? It does snow several times) and Peter's headstone, and Across takes place less than a year and a half later... or in July 2023 according to the bodega's security cameras?
Also, the news anchor says Peter was 26 when he died, but the headstone says 1991-2018. Then his birthday was in mid to late December? And he died right before it? That's sad. Oh! Speaking of birthdays: Miles asks why he can't go back to Brooklyn middle school. Soo... he's 13 (which the art book claimed, I think??) and skipped a grade? Is his birthday also late in the year? It has to be imminent if he can be 15 in a year and four months.
And Mayday! Babies typically start crawling at 7-10 months. 9 months of pregnancy + 7 months of living baby = 16 months, or a year and four months! MJ must've gotten pregnant immediately after she and Peter B reconciled. That's effecient of them, but I guess she'd waited long enough.
If we disregard the security cams, it's actually April-ish 2020. How long has Gwen been with the society? She says "a few months", yeah? If that's the truth, it must be between two and five months, because Jess' belly was noticeably big in the prologue, but she's yet to give birth by the end. So! Gwen joined in December or January? Maybe February? That's winter. Is it common to be dressed in shorts, tights, and sweater but no coat in New York during winter? Because that's how she's dressed. And the people around her are wearing t-shirts.
Gwen and Hobie has been on "a couple dozen" missions together. That's at least 24, if he meant that literally. Nearly one every day for one month. But it can't have been continuous because he's got shit to deal with in his own dimension in between. How do they manage their time? Do they have a schedule? And this has less to do with the timeline and is really something that just hit me:
Did Miguel deliberately gather all those spider-people to intimidate Miles with? Because HQ is teeming with spider-people doing mostly nothing (and that's only in the lobby). Don't they have villains to catch at home? I'm picturing Miguel sending a mass dm to everyone about how he needs them to come in and act natural – they have a 15 year old that has to be put in his place!
All this to say: I don't think you're dense about this. I think it's the writers that can't math.
BRUH ACTUALLY DEADASS
HOW LONG HAS JESSICA BEEN PREGNANT??????
Because her pregnancy and Gwen's time there PLUS pavitr joining in under six months is SO JARRING AND CONFUSING.
I assumed Gwen was with them for like 6 months, but that seems way too long so maybe 3? And we can (generously) say Jess was maybe 5-6 months pregnant? So okay, she's about to give birth.
And as someone who lives in NY, nah Winter here is a good 40F(4C) here or lower - even spring you have to wear a hoodie and it's like 60F(15C) until July so I don't know when they recruited her tbh
But for some reason I always assumed that Gwen joined before Pavi did, but I guess not?? But Pavi had only been Spider-man for six months? So did they recruit him right away or was HE the 'new guy' before Miles???? And why would they recruit him right away?
Yeah and with Hobie's work schedule - like I'm assuming they don't go on missions only together because she knows Pavi and LOTS of the other Peters, so either shes going on other missions with other people too- meaning Gwen has done a couple dozen with Hobie and THEN some, or she has a lot of time between missions to meet a lot of Peters around campus.
But then that adds up to like 50 something missions. Unless anamolies are happening every single day, that's still 10 weeks, five days a week - at the least.
And they have training rooms!! So i'm assuming Gwen didn't start going on missions right away with the way Miguel was treating her - so what the hell?????
It's like....
If MJ got pregnant right away, at the same time Miguel got the watch - how long did it take him to meet Peter B.??? Was Peter B the first one he met? And how long did he know Peter B before he lost his daughter? Mind you - all in under a year or so. How long was he with his daughter?????
This makes NO SENSE. NO SENSE WHATSOEVER
And also to answer your last point:
Personally I think, yes Miguel actually made a concentrated effort to do that.
I wrote about it in my Hobie dialogue break-down - but the entire Spider Society scene was propaganda meant to intimidate Miles. Hobie even points this out, telling Miles 'propaganda bro'.
Their watches can take them anywhere - Jess goes to the bridge in Mumbattan. But when they need to see Miguel, they make Miles look at the all (trained) Spider-people. Then they take him to the prison area, then the go home machine. They could've just teleported into Miguel's lair, but instead Miguel made them do this whole tour (things Hobie and Gwen have seen), before meeting Miguel.
In my opinion Miguel absolutely planned that, theres no other reason for them to have been there and for the three of them to have to walk through all of that.
They even make them go to the food court for Miguels empanada like how petty can Miguel be lol He literally just wanted to scare Miles

heyy! can you give us more about frat!peter?
totally!! I'm not sure what you wanna know though specifically so here's some word vomit i sent to my moot stella weeks ago. you guys should totally feel free to talk to me about any frat!peter headcanons and questions you have him and reader/bashful are my world rn and I could answer any question you have about him/her/them. but right here is a run down of only frat!pete and how I perceive him
Tumblr media
Frat!Peter has the biggest ego but he's totally not a jerk..at least not once you get to know him. He's an engineering and biochem double major but he's taken journalism/photography electives and that’s where he and his gf met. He's automatically flirting with her and it's like dude come on..really?? Cause everyone knows about Peter Parker. He could have any girl he wants but he's never publicly dated anyone?? Weird. Maybe he's too good. Which makes her skeptical, so it’s like leave me alone totally not interested but he very quickly wins her over. The jerk side a total front and she is quick to discredit that rumor and let everyone know what a big soft teddy bear nerd he really is. (however it is not a front when it comes to his girl though stay twenty five feet away from her)
He definitely rushed with his friend as a joke and didn’t actually think he’s get in but turns out he’s a legacy (his dad and uncle ben both were members) and the guys think he’s a great pick and i mean it doesn’t hurt that the girls like him so come on how could they not let this dude in?? He does let it go to his head a little because it’s basically gonna pay for his college. How could he not get a little cocky and slacky. Besides for once in his life people like him and not just because he’ll get them a good grade on a project. However he does start to come down from this and gets his head out of his ass.
Yes he does still have his powers and is managing spider man, college, and his frat responsibilities. Which is why he had to step down from secretary to social chair sophomore/junior year. He totally showed up in the frat in his costume several times and his brothers chose to never mention it, it’s a secret that dies with them. Besides, their best friend is spider man?? How fucking cool.
His girlfriend does find out four months into the relationship when he shows up to their date dressed in the top of the costume and his button up not covering it at all and it finally explains so so sos os SO much.
Like stated previously he was elected secretary his sophomore year (first to happen) and had to step down to social chair later which he enjoyed much better cause their stuff was pretty much laid out in a rule book for them.
YES he does have a little (a freshman you mentor not the other kind of little) in my mind I aged Miles up a little bit to be his little freshie which ends up being super convenient when Miles ends up getting bit and they split spider man and other duties within the frat. But if not Miles I like to think he takes on carbon copy of himself when he first joined: angry, skeptical, and kind of shy and scared to reach out in fear of rejection and he teaches him that all these emotions are okay and valid but there are alot of good people in this community.
Speed run: he played on the lacrosse team very briefly until spider man got him thrown off- he rejoined later after Miles came into the picture, however he and the other guys are known for playing basketball on their front lawn and all the girls like to stop and watch (which drives his gf crazy and she has to make out with him to reclaim what’s hers and he eats that the fuck up.) As social chair he is obligated to work homecoming, and even though it’s not allowed since his gf is not in greek life he def asks her for help/ideas (his brothers know but they like him and his gf to much to care).
And yes he’s shocked that he's on the honor roll because how can he balance all this stuff and still come out? Maybe he is a genius, and slowly burning out.
That's all I got right now, please ask me more lore about frat!peter and or him and bashful/reader thank you that was my press conference

buzzfeed unsolved: The disappearance of Jason Todd
Ryan
Shane
—
This week on Buzzfeed Unsolved we will be discussing the disappearance of Jason Todd-Wayne, which has had updates as recently as last week.
Wait last week? Ryan, if we disappear because of this episode imagine how cool it would be. Maybe we hang with our good pal Jason.
I don’t have time for you being stupid. I have to get this right, because let me be honest. I have a man crush on Bruce Wayne, and if he ends up watching this and you’re being stupid I’ll never forgive you.
Okay, sure. Cause Bruce Wayne is searching the internet for every little thing posted about his dead son.
(wheeze)
We don’t know if he’s dead! And that’s what I’m here to talk about today.
-
Jason Peter Todd was born August 16th, 2000 in Gotham City, New Jersey, to his mother Dr. Sheila Haywood and his father Willis Todd. However only a few months later did Willis Todd marry Catherine Johnson, forcing Dr. Haywood to have to relinquish custody.
If I ever have a kid-
-they would all have your big head and I’d feel sorry for them.
Ryan. I listen to you ramble about murderers and ghosts. Let me tell my spiel.
(wheeze)
Right, sorry.
If I ever have a kid with someone, I think I’d be really upset if they just kinda made me give my kid to a stranger.
Here’s the thing to that! No one has heard or seen from Dr. Sheila Haywood since, like after her son was born. The only thing that might link back to her is an illegal botched surgery, but most of it was sealed off, and I don’t feel like having the Gotham City Police Department call me up
(ring ring)
Hi yes, are you that idiot from that show? You will be arrested immediately! Batman and his group of… misfits?? I don’t know, but they are on their way!
Moving on from your weird role play, like all the families that live in Park Row, what is deemed “Crime Alley”, the Todd family did not have money.
You could not pay me to go to a place called Crime Alley.
We were actually going to Gotham, scope around, maybe get a selfie with Robin-
-Which one?
I need to do an episode trying to figure out how many Robin’s there actually are… I think there have been five?? Six?? I don’t know… stop distracting me with Batman! We ended up scraping the visitation part because apparently this time of year Arkham breakouts are common, and I don’t want to get fear gassed.
-
Jason did decent at school, until he stopped showing up, school records are really spotty after third grade. Apparently he was reading and understanding college level stuff, but that’s really all we got on it.
Not a lot on this guys younger life it looks like.
No there isn’t, not any social media posts, or news articles, or anything if that sort about Jason until a few years later in 2012, when Jason became the ward to the one and only, Bruce Wayne.
Ah, Bruce Wayne, you love him, I love him, uhm- I actually don’t know much about Bruce Wayne other than the fact he’s one of the few rich people who give away a shit ton of money.
Bruce Wayne is a billionaire CEO, with a heart of gold, and some say he sleeps around, but as long as he’s not hurting anyone. Also! He’s a dad! Bruce Wayne is a trusted person within the Foster Care over in Gotham. He takes in the extreme cases that would probably leave the kid with a bunch of trauma.
Well, with what I’ve heard about Gotham, he must have like a billion kids with just a bunch of trauma
Let’s see what I remember from research, cause I did not write anything down for this. His first ward was Richard Grayson, who goes by Dick, was taken in after he watched his whole family fall and die on the trapeze.
As I said before, Jason was brought into Mr. Wayne’s custody after the death of both his father and his step mother. His father’s death was unknown, and his step mother died from a drug overdose… in front of Jason.
Uhm- Tim Drake? His was more interesting to watch unfold because there’s a whole other multimillion almost billion dollar company that Tim’s parents owned, and there was a lot covered up by lawyers and stuff, but Tim ended up with the Waynes
Then there’s the only female in the place, Cassandra Wayne, she is selectively mute, and overly protected by her adoptive family, nothing was shared with the media about where she came from.
Damian Wayne is the only blood son to Bruce Wayne, he didn’t even know about the kid until… like last year? Two years ago? Again, not a lot that I remember.
And then there’s been rumors of him taking in another kid, but nothing for sure yet.
Jesus, Ryan take a breath, and go back to Jason, because now I’m hoping I believe your theories about him being alive cause what this family didn’t need is another death.
Look, Shane. I’m going to be straight with you here. There are three possible theories I think could be plausible. So let’s jump right into them.
-
Theory one, is that Jason Todd is alive and in hiding from The Joker. This is the second most popular idea, and one I hope is true. There really isn’t anything else to this theory, besides a picture of someone that looks a little like Jason in the middle of Asia.
Doppelgänger, probably. Lemme see. I don’t know… this kinda looks like someone edited it.
Yeah, like it looks really distorted. I don’t know if I think it’s real, but it’s what people online were talking about.
Crazy, that people online would doctor fake photos of a kid who had died.
Exactly, which is why people think he’s alive, cause who would do that?
—
Theory two is that Jason Todd died as his family said he did, looking for his birth mother. Apparently he was in the Middle East, found his mother, but then both were found dead in an explosion caused by the Joker.
So the Joker, who is Gotham’s Prince of Crime, was somehow in the Middle East? I don’t buy it
I didn’t either, until I looked just a little deeper, and found that the next week Superman and Batman stopped the Joker from murdering the United Nations. So he was in the area.
Oh my god. If.. I know on this show I try to goof off, but it’s hard when it’s a kid. How old was Jason?
Only 15. He just got back into the swing of things at school, getting all A’s, he was in the Drama program and the Poetry club. If you scroll down a on Dick Grayson’s Instagram you can find a selfie of Dick and Jason, Jason being in his school uniform only a week before he died. The two seemed to be really close, with how much Grayson posted of the two of them, and then it was radio silence from the man until a year after Jason’s death, where he made a memorial post, along with Bruce Wayne, who made the Jason Peter Todd Memorial Foundation, which helps families in Crime Alley.
Look, not okay with the kid dying, but it makes me kinda smile to see that his family got together to do something like this in his name.
I don’t think you understand the length of what this fund does. It provides special housing for single mothers, has opened up two clinics that help with drug abuse and addiction, and keeps kids in warm clothes and in school.
That’s- wow. Okay, you are making this “he’s dead” thing seem like it’s the only thing that happened.
Well, theory 3, is that he died-
Wait what?
He died, and came back to life.
This, I think, is worse than you saying ghosts are real.
We live in a world where someone can run at the speed of light! Yet you draw the line at ghosts and maybe hopefully someone who isn’t dead.
Yeah, but that’s science. Okay whatever where’s the proof of him being alive.
Okay, looking at the timeline. Jason Todd died at 15, in 2015. And the Wayne’s kinda were quiet for a year and a half, besides the foundation they set up, even with Tim, nothing really new was happening.
And then things seemed to go back to normal, they all frequented gala’s again, and all the other social stuff they did-
Yeah, nice choice of wording there
Shut up, anyways, in 2018 a picture appears, not even the front page, of Dick Grayson walking and laughing with someone who looks a lot like if Jason Todd grew up for a few years, and then decided to dye his hair.
Listen, Ryan. People have doppelgängers. We just saw the other picture and it’s clearly fake- Jesus Christ that looks exactly like Jason.
Exactly! And I started looking around more, finding pictures of the Wayne family around Gotham from news sites, and every once in a while, that guy pops up. Never in the picture, but always somewhere in the background like he wasn’t wanting to be seen. Like i mentioned in the beginning, there was a picture from a week ago that looks exactly like him.
Wait, is this a theory from the internet or something you came up with?
Both, kind of? I saw someone make a bad joke about it, and then it kinda stuck in my head as I looked for more information. Apparently there is a mythical pit that could bring someone from the dead.
Okay, yeah. Mythical revival pit. As if any living person wouldn’t be all over that.
Look man, that’s just the information I found. But I really really hope that Jason is alive somewhere safe, or resting peacefully.
The most believable for me is that he did pass away. But I’d love to be wrong.
That being said, I got really sad looking through all of Jason’s life, I felt like I was being more invasive than usual. So I talked with the crew and Buzzfeed, and we are donating all revenue from this video to the Jason Memorial fund in Gotham.
But the mystery of Jason Todd, still remains….

Note
I totally get if you dont wanna reveal the answers but im also SO curious abt the answers to your Disney trivia (esp the 101 dalmatians book one!!!)
I thought I checked a box that said they would tell u the answers if u got it wrong but apparently that's not working so absolutely.
Quiz is HERE is you guys wanna take it before reading this! I worked very hard on it <3
Anyway, infodump time
How Many Banks Children were in the first Mary Poppins book?
A: Four. While Jane and Michael were the main characters of the book, they also had infant twin siblings. I had to edit this question to include “first book” after finding out that they get another sibling in later books; so the first book has four, and later books have five.
2. T/F: In 101 Dalmatians, Pongo's mate is named Perdita after she is found alone on the street.
A: False. Perdita is not Pongo's wife or the puppies' mother, but a nurse for some of the pups. She was indeed named Perdita (meaning "lost") after being found on the street, and was a liver-spotted dog looking for her own lost puppies. Pongo's wife is named Missis and she's a bimbo and i love her
3. Disney added multiple characters to Bambi. Who of the following was actually in the book?
A: Faline. Thumper and Flower were added to the Disney film and did not appear in the original book.
4. T/F: In the original Pinocchio book, the character who would become Stromboli was actually more sympathetic than Disney portrayed him as.
A: True. Stromboli's character, Mangiafuoco, is at first annoyed at Pinocchio for ruining his performance and threatens to burn him. However, he takes pity on the boy and later lets him go, giving him some gold coins for his journey.
5. Which of the following is NOT something that happens in the original Peter Pan that Disney cut from the ending?
A: the answer I made up is the one of Nana going to Neverland. In the original book, at the end, Captain Hook is eaten by the crocodile, the Darling children return to find that they had been reported missing for several months and their parents were frantic, the Lost Boys move in with the Darlings, them and John and Michael forget about Neverland, and Tinker Bell dies offscreen. Peter forgets about her cause his memory is shit.
Other Peter Pan fun fact: There are actual canon nonbinary fairies in this 1911 book! Wendy talks about the fairies, and says, “The mauve ones are boys and the white ones are girls, and the blue ones are just little sillies who are not sure what they are.”
6. T/F: Tarzan’s foster mother, Kala, dies in the book.
A: True. She’s unfortunately killed by some tribal African stereotypes which. oof.
7. What role did Ariel's sisters play in the original Little Mermaid?
A: They sold their hair for a way for the Little Mermaid to return home. The sisters gave the Sea Witch their hair in exchange for a dagger for Ariel to use to stab the prince; if she did so, she would revert to a mermaid. Ariel considered it, as the prince had fallen in love with someone else and thus she would not be able to marry him by the time limit, but decided against it.
8. T/F: Dumbo's mouse friend was present in the original story.
A: False. Timothy Q Mouse was made as a replacement for a wise robin named Red.
9. What are two of the ways the wicked Queen tries to kill Snow White before using the apple?
A: She tries to suffocate her with a laced bodice, and then brushes her hair with a poisoned comb. These both fail, as the dwarves untie the bodice and remove the comb. Fun fact: the reason the apple failed in the OG story was actually because when the prince moved the coffin, it fell from her mouth!
One of the fake answers is “She gives her slippers that make her dance endlessly,” which is the Queen’s fate in the fairytale. Another fake answer is “She sends crows to peck her eyes out” which happens in the Grimm version of Cinderella to the stepfamily. “She tries to get her to prick her finger on a poisoned thornbush” references both Sleeping Beauty and the beginning of the story where the good Queen wishes for a child as red as blood and white as snow after pricking her finger and seeing blood in the snow.
10. T/F: In the original "The Fox and the Hound" book, the Hound kills the Fox.
A: True. Disney switched the names of Copper and Chief, but the character who would become Copper does chase Tod until he dies of exhaustion. The dog then dies at the end of the book. Cheery! The whole book is full of death and despair I only recommend it if you want to make people uncomfortable at parties.
11. What was Jasmine’s name in the original folk tale?
A: Badroulbadour. As for the other answers: Yasmin is her name in the Arabic dub of the Disney film; Scheherazade is the main protagonist of 1001 Arabian Nights; Dalia is Jasmine’s handmaiden in the live-action reboot; Fatimah is the pestering wife of Maruf the Cobbler in his Arabian Nights story; Morgiana is Ali Baba’s heroic daughter-in-law from Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves; Nouronnihar is another princess in The Three Princes and the Princess Nouronnihar, and Zumurrud is one of the protagonists in Ali Shar and Zumurrud.
12. In The Frog Princess, which The Princess and the Frog was VERY loosely inspired by, what is the actual reason that Emma (who would become Tiana) turns into a frog after kissing the prince?
A: She is wearing a curse-reversal bracelet. It was given to her by her adventuring Aunt, and she has to retrieve the bracelet in order to turn into a human and then kiss the prince again.
The fake answer “She is not a real princess” is the reason used in the final film that Tiana transforms.
13. T/F: In 2022, Disney released a sequel film to "Hocus Pocus." However, a book sequel was created in 2018 with a drastically different plot. In this plot, Max and Allison's daughter is canonically gay.
A: True! Her name is Poppy and she summons the Sandersons while trying to impress a cute girl. Queen shit
14. Which of the following is NOT true about the book version of Eilonwy?
A: The false statement was that her bauble was a fairy. The true statements are that her mother was a princess but her father was a commoner, the women of her family were all enchantresses, but she loses a good chunk of her magic by destroying The Book of Llyr.
15. T/F: Disney’s Alice in Wonderland changed the ending to make it all Alice’s dream instead of a real adventure.
A: False! The book did originally end as Alice's dream, as did the sequel. Fun fact, though: The Wizard of Oz was not a dream in the book! As stated before, neither was Peter Pan.
16. What role does Sleeping Beauty's Husband's Mother play in the story?
A: She is an ogre that tries to eat Sleeping Beauty and her children.
17. T/F: While Treasure Planet changed a lot from Treasure Island, Jim's backstory of being abandoned by his father is the same.
A: False. In the book, his father died instead of left.
18. What was the Rescue Aid Society’s name in the book?
A: Prisoners’ Aid Society. The first book actually featured the mice rescuing an adult poet from prison.
19. Esmeralda’s goat sidekick, Djali, was actually in the original book.
A: True.
20. What is the plot to the official book sequel to 101 Dalmatians?
A: The humans all fall into a magical coma and the dogs, now with psychic powers, must save them. Yeah! That’s canon! Written by the original story’s author!! Why did Disney never adapt it!!!
Of the fake answers, “Cruella attempts to kidnap puppies again, only to be thwarted by the original dogs” is a slight ref to 101 Dalmatians 2: Patch’s London Adventure; “A dalmatian without spots saves her family” and “Cruella attempts to reform and becomes a dog lover” are both descriptions of subplots in 102 Dalmatians, and the mention of Cruella’s cat in one of the fake answers does refer to a book character.
21. T/F: The talking snowman was an actual character in The Snow Queen.
A: False.
22. What are the names of Rapunzel’s twin children?
A: The twins are unnamed in the original story. Of the fake answers, “Ruby and Rampion” references a background character in Descendants and the alternate name for the Rapunzel plant; “Dawn and Day” are Sleeping Beauty’s children; “Elba and Saiba” I got from googling fairytales with twins, and the site says it’s an African fairytale? I’ll have to look it up tbh cause I’m not sure; “Zjema and Handa” are from the Albanian folktale The Twins, and “Cassandra and Varian” are two characters from the Tangled TV series.
23. T/F: In the original Tarzan series, Clayton is revealed to be Tarzan’s cousin.
A: True. Tarzan’s birth name is John Clayton II, and Disney’s Clayton is William Cecil Clayton. While this plotline was dropped in the movie, fun fact: Clayton’s VA provided Tarzan’s famous call for the film!
24. What is Ratigan’s first name in the original stories?
A: Padraic. Of the fake names, “James” and “Moriarty” obviously reference the Sherlock character he is based on; “Proudfoot” is a family in the first 1958 Basil story; “Doran” was Ratigan’s lieutenant based on former tumblr blorbo Sebastian Moran; “Vincent” comes from Ratigan’s VA Vincent Price; “Ingham” was the surname of Basil’s VA, Barrie Ingham; and “Leslie” came from one of the inspirations for Basil’s animation, Leslie Howard.
25. T/F: Roger Rabbit dies in the original book.
A: True. I do not know how to convey to you how INSANE the Roger Rabbit book is. It’s so fucking nuts.
26. The Lion King is famously based on Shakespeare’s Hamlet. What characters inspired Timon and Pumbaa?
A: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. They ended up serving very different roles in the plot, but originally Timon and Pumbaa’s characters were meant to be Simba’s childhood friends like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern were, and they eventually evolved into caretakers when they needed someone for Simba to grow up with.
27. T/F: Maui is a character in Māori and Hawai’ian mythology, but not any other Polynesian cultures.
A: False. Maui appears in Māori, Hawai'ian, Tongan, Tahitian, Samoan and Mangarevan mythology.
28. How Many siblings does Hua Mulan have?
A: Two. She has an older sister and a younger brother. They were combined into Hua Xiu in the reboot, and aluded to in the original movie with Mulan’s dog being named Little Brother. Personally, I like the change of having her being an only child, it puts a lot of implicit pressure on her that she is the ONLY one who can make her family proud and guarantee them a future. However, I also like middle kid rep so lol
29. T/F: Gaston was more sympathetic in the original fairytale.
A: False. Gaston did not exist in the original fairytale. The antagonists were  Belle’s two wicked sisters.
30. Final Question. Which of the following was an actual original story, and NOT based on a pre-existing book, fairytale, myth, etc.?
A: Brother Bear was not based on anything pre-existing, though it did of course draw inspiration from Inuit culture. The other movies listed are Song of the South (based on the Uncle Remus stories), Bedknobs and Broomsticks (based on The Magic Bedknob; or, How to Become a Witch in Ten Easy Lessons and the following Bedknobs and Broomsticks), Fun and Fancy Free was based on Bongo and Mickey and the Beanstalk; Frankenweenie is ofc a Frankenstein adaptation but also based on an early Burton short film; and Oliver & Company was based on Oliver Twist.

There is nothing like trying to figure out what I want to put as "main verse" to realize how many details I don't want to "set in stone".
Like, I definitely have basic ideas that remain consistant, but I keep thinking of what will be put as that baseline, and think "okay but what if". And I did mean to have the main verse and then have a page or a tag or something about "parallel verses" that are this sort of what if, even "alternate verses" for wanting to play with ideas that have nothing to do with the main verse, but the issue?
The issue is that I keep sitting here not knowing what I want to be "main verse" and what I want to be "parallel verses". Like for example: the five muses meet when they land in Wild's world. But is it post-BotW and pre-TotK, or is it post-TotK? There were reasons that it was supposed to be post-TotK, but I also love the idea of the other boys seeing Wild's world just after the defeat of the Calamity, aka still pretty wild and beautiful yet full of hints that they lived through pretty much an apocalypse, and that they help Hyrule rebuild.
I could maybe figure out a way to have both ideas work together (time shenangians maybe?), but that'll require a bit more effort. And as far as I'm concerned, since I'm not trying to make a coherent story out of it, I can just mention both ideas, since the exact scenario won't always be relevant to a post. And when it is, its pretty evident which ideas I'm developing, or if its generic enough to work for both.
So yeah, the more I'm trying to work on the "main verse" page, the more I'm realizing that my "main verse" is more fluid than I first realized. Which mean that I might need to rework slightly how it's presented, and figure out what information I want in pages (the first thing someone new might want to check out, the thing that I hope gives a basic idea of what to expect), and what I want in tagged posts (the "details" and depth given to the ideas that someone might not see right away).
I'll get there sooner or later, but yeah that's why the blog still has WIP pages and its likely I might need to rework a bit some pages. I don't have too many posts yet either, so between the WIP pages and said posts, you can get a decent idea of some main aspect of the crossover. There hasn't been much yet about the individual stories though, so I'll just say a few words now~!
Peter: is set a few months post NWH, but my ideas for him include rewinding time, Tony and other characters recalling the old future, and forging a better future that what they had gotten the first time.
Allen: is based on my ideas from Meet me Halfway to the End, he's set while on the run, but before being found by anyone, and at the time of making this post, I haven't yet added a second bonus to MHE that details the ideas for Allen. The very short summary is that Allen is the Spirit of Creation of his world, Stuff Happened, he died and reformed as a mortal human, and will eventually awaken his spirit powers and form.
Wild: has a whole plotline for both games I had been playing with before I added him into the crossover, is canon divergent, and wakes up from the shrine with a connection to the land, the wilderness, nature. By the end of BotW, he's closer to a spirit than mortal, by the end of TotK, he's an immortal spirit. I also have ideas for my own personal spin on "multiple Link meets for a new quest"!
Ireth: that boy has had a journey, he was first a canon divergent lavellan (born from an OC clan but raised by Lavellan after the murder of his birth clan), then he got a crossover backstory (during the murder of his clan, something happen that send him into the DGM world and he grows there), and finally he's got the crossover family background (he's sent to Wild world with the other instead). I have zero idea how divergent the DAI events will be, there's so many ways it can go I'm likely not going to settle on anything specific. edit: i forgot to mention, he's also half-spirit, half-elf!
WWX: is set when he's dying during the first siege, and eventually he'll be called by MXY ritual. He might be able to stop the ritual and/or save MXY, or not, depends what I want to go with. I don't have much idea unfortunately, only a vague "might cause canon divergent events", or that some ideas from my fics can be used. Unlike the other characters whose personal fic/fic idea worked well into my crossover, I don't really want to use one or both of the two fics I have with WWX. One doesn't really work since its set before his death, and I really love the whole "the other boys help WWX heal from his death and everything that lead to it", the other is set post canon but has time travel in it. On one side, it might be fun as WWX and Peter might bond over this, on another, it's again that loss of "WWX healing from his death with the boys". And I could say that they meet at his death, then canon events happen (divergent or not) after MXY ritual, and then my fic idea happen (time travel), but I kind of don't want to?
So yeah, as you can see, I do have ideas for each muse, with different degree of how much I know and how much I'm still working out, and how much I don't want to "set in stone". Poor WWX really had the short straw in term of what I know I want to do, but then again, in my head, his part in the crossover was always about how he gains more family, and heal, and kind of have peace you know? And then he's drawn back into his world and he's lowkey panicking because I always planned for this to happen at a bad timing (other muse(s) are in trouble), so he's like. Concerned about the whole hand fiasco, happy to see LWJ again (note: thanks to the other boys, WWX is self aware of his feelings), but also pissed off and concerned and "let me return to my family damn it!!".
Then again, Ireth also has no specific details for the DAI events, so I guess WWX having so few details about his canon events post-resurection works, too.
That was a long post, but I wanted to share about the character specific ideas, plus how it's been going working on the blog, hope you enjoy it!

arachnophobia ch4 notes
title
from "nobody's daughter", by hole
hole: another great grunge band of the 90s, fronted by courtney love, who is often remembered not for her achievements as an artist, but for being kurt cobain's wife. and is often blamed for his death.
nobody's daughter: this chapter's about gwen finally being fully disillusioned with the society and the man leading it, wanting out, and deciding to own her consequences. and, you know, rejecting miguel for trying to make her the replacement for his daughter.
rot is a bit of a motif for the gwens in this fic. so's drowning at the bottom of a body of water.
opening quote
from everything everywhere all at once, directed by daniels
this is the mentor-confrontation chapter. jess is aware that she's failing gwen, and has chosen to keep doing so and justify it. miguel has no fucking clue. and peter actually recognizes that he fucked up. the former two are the ones to watch out for.
jess
gwen is now a spider-gwen. we're halfway through the story, so it's time for her to embrace that distinction. and to use it to break apart her sense of closeness with jess.
we're at the bargaining stage of the seven stages of grief. this chapter is about gwen talking to three mentors who essentially hold her life in her hands, trying to see if she can come to terms with them, and concluding it isn't possible.
pav called jess. he's a nice kid who trusts the society, and being a friend of gwen's, he's probably had a lot of interactions with her. when he gets worried about gwen, he calls her foster mom.
and jess called miguel.
gwen saw jess as a mother from the moment she blurted out 'can you adopt me' in the guggenheim. she's a teenage girl whose own mother died when she was young, who's constantly searching for specifically female role models.
i've always really wondered about how nueva york feels about the tower of dimension-hopping spiders downtown. probably a lot of conspiracy theories.
gwen's spider-sense is reminding her of earth-65a's cindy moon and sue storm. more on this later.
jess is capable of genuine maternal concern towards gwen. she's just also capable of shutting it down.
jess did the bare minimum of not leaving a teenager alone with her dad while he's pointing a gun at her, and then proceeded to do nothing but neglect her after the fact. gwen has to sleep over at hobie's, so she hasn't even found this girl a place to stay.
in the comics, roxxon is the slimy energy corporation responsible for the spider that bit gwen. she was at a political protest against them when it happened.
timeline note: gwen's been at the society for seven-going-on-eight months, to atsv's five.
'the wrong spider-woman' ... subconsciously, gwen wants to speak to earth-8 gwen.
some jessicas do have pheromones. no clue if 332 jess does.
another important lesson for gwen to learn: not all women support each other simply on the basis of their gender.
jess's origin here is mostly fabrication. comics-jess's origin is honestly so convoluted it was difficult to make sense of. i kept the bit about her father experimenting on her to save her from an illness-- felt like a girl who spent her whole childhood in and out of hospitals would turn into a thrill-seeker once she's finally healthy. so in my mind, jess got the bike and put on the mask to make up for lost time.
and jess is often a spy or agent in her depictions; 332-jess still has those positive associations with the government, given how one of their projects saved her life.
332-gwen's the girl with cancer glimpsed in chapter 1.
jessica drew in the comics doesn't have a gwen; her existence here is all made up for the fic. the death needed to fit jess's hospital backstory, give her some level of agency in causing it, while still making it ultimately out of her control. ergo, jess gets the serum, gwen does not. and like any gwen death: jess does feel responsible, and gwen isn't even given any say in it.
"it was a mercy" girl no the fuck it wasn't.
jess is like any other spider-man, making her gwen's death the most important thing about her.
and jess's issues with gwen are also personal. she isn't the girl jess was best friends with, and she's not happy about it.
every time a gwen is saved by her spider, the narrative tends to sling some bullshit about how ~we would have been better off if she died~ -- so jess very much regrets taking gwen out of 65b.
there are so many different jessica drews. she's a difficult character to pin down because of it. makes you wonder what made miguel want a jess as his right hand, and what made this jess accept.
in my mind, it's that, apart from her preexisting sense of loyalty to shady government/policing structures, she wants that consistency he provides. she wants to be the definitive jess, so if she's in his inner circle, he'll be persuaded to adjust the narrative in her favor.
and jess can't see eye to eye with gwen. all jess wants is what gwen technically has-- a clear-cut purpose in the story that everyone agrees on and finds important. she can't relate to gwen resenting that purpose.
another callback to gwen's best female villains: they're women who want what she has. cindy moon in earth-65 created the radioactive spider and is angry that gwen got powers instead of her, and considers her unworthy of it. sue storm wants the fame and acclaim ghost-spider has as the biggest hero in nyc, and believes she's too ugly and problematic to have such a platform, so she blackmails her into fleeing the universe (... not that the comics ever follow up on that).
65b gwen's three and a half years into being spider-woman, yet she hasn't even had her identity revealed to her dad yet. by that time, 65a gwen had not only revealed it to her father, but been depowered, venomized, exposed, arrested and been to prison. gwen b's taking an oddly long time to meet her canon events.
her supporting cast is also smaller-- there's no harry osborn, for one. and there's no murdock to send the rhino to attack her dad, which is how her identity's exposed to him in the comics. had to point that out.
gwen b is much more... palatable than gwen a. she's a graceful dancer, not a clumsy bruiser. she's sixteen, not nineteen. she's level-headed, not temperamental. she loved her peter back and he died as a mistake; he wasn't a borderline incel who she beat to death. she's capable of infiltrating visions academy and fucking alchemax. she's strategic and level-headed, and doesn't go cracking nearly as many puns and burns or giving emotional speeches.
all of which probably make her more appealing to the society than her comics-alternative.
jess's goal was keeping gwen from slipping off that pedestal. she failed.
the captain gwen stacy is an invention for the fic. just felt like a permutation that'd show up.
jess's method of catching gwen is all in her words.
jess cares, but not enough. she'll tell gwen there are others like her, but won't protect her from miguel.... but she'll still act like she will to save face.
gwen needed a little closure with pav, even if it's just asking jess to let him know she's okay with him.
peter b
the society's fucking giant. probably an intimidation tactic.
peter b also knows-- i imagine the inner circle are all aware gwen's being sent home. he is not okay with it, and wants to get gwen's side of things.
he's also trying to be a dad here.
in the comics, gwen and peter-616 go for hot dogs. little nod to that too.
you really do have to wonder how pete responded to learning that all his exes formed a band and are dating each other.
and a hint of that spider-man entitlement bubbles up, assuming all the girls do is talk and write about him.
i assume peter b's dealt with clones in his world already.
i'm also guessing he's a stay at home dad, simply bc of how complicated having a baby who can wallcrawl would be.
peter b has to be the halfway point in this fic. he's the original peter who dropped gwen, the source of this death curse. and he's the first spider-man to acknowledge that he does not have the answers as to how to deal with this problem.
peter and miles are still in contact. so everything gwen says here WILL get back to him.
one of the central problems with miles and gwen as a couple in the comics is that the relationship is based on the idea of gwen avoiding her problems by attaching herself to a guy, and miles pursuing gwen because she's a way to assimilate into respectable spider-man-ness. their awful date issue happened during a time where marvel was just throwing peter's leftovers at miles to try and make him stick. his leftover villains and rewarmed plotlines. and his old girlfriend.
recontextualized here: miles's crush was genuine to start, but it was still shallow. he barely knows her! he had a year and a half to project anything he wanted onto her, so what IS left at this point except for the aesthetic of her, in his mind? and then when he gets to the society, all he hears is 'you have to be just like peter', so he puts two and two together, and decides that he should get with gwen simply because it'll make him a more legitimate spider-man.
1048 miles is from the insomniac games. that uncanny valley video game model style would undoubtedly creep the spiderverse-animation-style characters out.
another mention of venom: he's one of the central antagonists of the upcoming ps5 game, and venom's going to show up in this fic soon, so you need to keep being reminded of that name.
interesting that miguel centers his canon theory on peter parker's history. one has to wonder what motivated it-- my guess, there are more peter-spider-men than anyone else, so he assumes they're closer to the ideal.
and miles, in the movies, in the game, in the comics, is always held up in comparison to peter. one would think 1610b miles would learn that if he hung out with his alt selves.
gwen very much is peter's sloppy seconds. that's the whole problem with gwiles. it only exists to shove miles's story full of elements that are unique to peter, rather than letting him find his own. if miles and gwen get together, he's still trying to be like peter.
siat salt: the basis of comics-miles's attraction to gwen is that he thinks she's hot, he likes that she has powers, and he enjoys the way his friends react to him overselling their tepid romance. literally, comics-miles sees gwen as a prize.
movie miles at least has an emotional connection with her... but that's not enough to overcome the lack of time spent together, or all the pressure on him to be like peter. his feelings for her are sincere, but the relationship would always be poisoned by those external factors.
itsv salt: gwen, peter b and miles aren't an equal trio. it's miles, his mentor, and the girl who will be his love interest. it's a ninety degree angle, not a triangle. gwen and peter b do not have a deep connection. they behave like coworkers, not friends.
during itsv, why is peter treating a 15-year-old girl like she's an adult when he's mentoring a 14-year-old boy so carefully?
and since gwen landed 'last week' how exactly was she not glitching harder than peter, who was only there for a few days?
... and where was she sleeping during that time? visions is a boarding school so crowded miles had to win a lottery to get in-- there aren't any beds available.
and why was she even at visions? miles wasn't even bitten yet. and there was a spider-hero with her exact powers, who she had days to reach out to, and didn't. because she was just hanging around a middle school for no reason.
(the reason: the writers wanted to set her up as miles's love interest. that's the entire purpose of her presence in itsv.)
and how does gwen not mention or seem affected by ripeter's death? he's a second peter parker who died on her watch, and this one was a spider like her, who she had all the time to reach out to.
it'd have made far more sense if gwen is introduced at the collider, collaborating with spider-man and trying to get home, but failing.
anyway. peter b absolutely failed gwen. he did not protect or mentor her in itsv, or after she joined the society. he's complicit in all the shit miguel and jess were doing to her. it had to be brought up.
and here, peter b realizes he fucked up.
the first gwen stacy hated spider-man. spider-gwen deserves that too.
peter ii
(general salt about spider-gwen in general: literally the moment she was created-- the second gwen stacy was alive, had powers and her own world and story-- all the writers and fandom could imagine for her was "which man can she belong to" and they got to work throwing versions of spider-man at her. the one that stuck was miles, not because they were a good match, but because he was the one who babytrapped her in an alternate future. so from day 1, people still saw spider-gwen's 'purpose' as 'spider-man's future babymaker.' they never changed their view of gwen stacy, or questioned what harm that perception of her did to the original. imagine sexism rotting your brain that much. imagine being that fucking stupid.)
(imagine being one of the spiderverse writers, reading the earth-8 shipping episode, and thinking "what if you fall in love with boy #2 instead of boy #1, and if you're really loyal to him, then we won't kill you!" is a stunning twist instead of an insulting step backwards for a character who'd already escaped her narrative.)
(gwen, miles and peter are a trio in the comics, in large part because of synergy with these movies. it never made sense that spider-gwen wanted to be their friend, when all they fucking do is objectify and hit on her. the comic hierarchy will never let her call them on their shit or be angry at them. at least in this fic, she gets to say she hates it.)
"it's okay to be selfish" is right out of the comics. issue 4 of seanan mcguire's ghost-spider run. one of the most touching modern peter parker moments in years.
applied here to a peter who's been spider-man for almost thirty years, who has a family now, it's even more crucial. finding that balance is why he was able to last.
movie salt: a girl who keeps being ordered to give up her life and autonomy to serve the story of a guy discovering that she deserves to be selfish is essential. it's far more revolutionary and genre-busting than 'i should continue to be selfless, but this time For Miles instead of For Peter'
spider-man blue is an amazing comic about peter's connection to gwen. i read it to prep for this section and can't recommend it enough. that's where peter having a box of her stuff in his attic comes from.
it was the consensus of the writers of the original comics that mary jane was the better love interest than gwen. the plan was originally for peter and gwen to remain together, but the second mj appeared, they knew it was over and needed an excuse to get rid of her. her personality was a bigger hit with readers.
the tragedy of peter and gwen isn't that they didn't end up together-- it's that they didn't get to drift apart on their own terms.
peter b tells the truth: in chapter 1, he lied about his gwen being passed out to shield gwen from the uglier details. here, he's finally ready to admit what actually happened.
and he's the first spider-man (apart from hobie) who understands that gwen wants to know who his gwen was while she was alive.
616 gwen's defining feature isn't that she's pretty, though she is. it's that she's smart. she was as smart as peter, and she was a deeply kind girl who cared deeply about her friends and family. (she was also slightly bitchy at times, fwiw) and she was the one who decided to return to new york; peter didn't make her.
65 gwen IS a lot like her-- but here peter stops himself. because it shouldn't matter if they're similar. 65 gwen should be her own person too.
peter b's dad instincts finally function, and recognize gwen as one of His Kids. however, if he prevents gwen from going into this confrontation or tries to go in with her, then it's about him redeeming himself as a father figure and not her growing. it had to be shut down.
everything gwen tells peter will get back to miles.
peter b's hug is another bookend on chapter 1. now he actually holds her like she's alive, and like she's his kid.
in general, during this chapter, i was trying to walk the line of gwen being on the verge of turning into a supervillain, and being pulled back from the edge by this conversation with peter. if he had not been here, if he had not figured his shit out and therefore shown her it's possible for spider-people to change, she would probably have fully disowned all the other spiders. she would never give miles the chance to apologize to her. the eventual council of spider-women would have become the isolationist group it is in the comics, she would not help miles save 1610 from the spot, and she would never have answered pav's call.
(and while we're on that topic, there's a version of this fic where gwen went full villain in chapter 3. she fully snapped and killed pav, snatched a watch from hq on her own, and made the council an organization who actively kill other spider-people to protect their dimensions' gwen stacys. i almost wrote that fic instead, but it ended up being this instead. i didn't end up writing it because it was too depressing, and because after further thinking, i figured hobie's relationship with gwen is what stopped that future from happening: she had someone taking care of her, giving her somewhere semi-stable to stay, and validating all her anger-- and therefore gwen goes into her breakdown with an understanding that it IS possible for spiders to do better.)
miguel
gwen knows she's getting sent home. she just wants to see if she can get the spider-gwen info out of him and get him to let gayatri live.
she accidentally gave him the idea to use alternate gwens as placeholders. that's coming back.
gwen's death is the backbone of the multiverse. so many alternates and what-ifs exist around her death.
the first thing miguel does in atsv is fuck up a canon event scenario-- the captain's death.
how isn't gwen the original anomaly. if gwen's death is a canon event, and there's a spider-gwen running around two years before the collider exploded, something's fishy.
fandom salt: gwen is capable of thinking and feeling and doing things that don't involve miles
offscreen miles activity: his dad's captain, and projected to die soon. he's flipping his shit. someone told him about his anomaly status and earth-42, and he's catching on that this is bullshit too.
miles's arc in atsv is perfect. i wanted to preserve it, even if it's happening offscreen and slower, and without gwen.
margo and peter b are taking on that role here.
sorry movies, but gwen and miles's relationship can't break canon. it reinforces the idea that gwen can only be spider-man's girlfriend, and that miles has to be like peter parker.
hence why miguel's invested in it. the two loose ends are tied up.
on gwen's end, if she marries miles and has kids with him, the subversiveness of her story dies. she'll never be allowed to leave his shadow again and any attempt to do so will be demonized.
the married-with-kids ending for gwiles turns her into an object to make a man more impressive. the spider-man who saves his gwen, keeps her alive and reproduces with her is the most special one, after all. it's not about her. it's about him and his legacy. anyone who wants that ending for gwen is either naive to its consequences for her, totally indifferent to it, or they DO know, and part of the appeal of this outcome is taking an independent woman, clipping her wings, and turning her into a trophy.
(miles is the first. miguel is the latter.)
earth-8 gwen is presented in canon as one of the Best Outcomes for gwen. which, to the men who wrote that storyline, no. gwen's a queer punk girl who wants to play the drums, not get married, pump out a nuclear family and become a supercop. she loves her world so much that abandoning it would break her heart. it's not a perfect future for 65 gwen, it's a miserable one.
fic-gwen has just put that together. her first impulse was to hate gwen-8 because she assumed she's complicit in trying to force gwen to be like her. now she's putting together that she's also a victim to this larger system.
there are plenty of alt-spider gwens, but not very many with any distinguishing features. five were chosen to be featured here:
trn457: ultimate cartoon-- this gwen's a young teen who makes herself a hero with tech from her dad's robocop line, choosing to be a hero even when miles already is one, and not doing so to be his sidekick or partner.
trn684: marvel rising cartoon. a diet comics gwen, aged down for the grade schoolers her show is aimed at. she's a drummer, with a skimpier design, bolder hair, and this gwen, like movies-gwen didn't kill her male best friend (a... kevin), but is assumed to by the cops. she also has gliders!
trn-18157: the marvel action comics, aimed at younger readers, where gwen is one of a plucky reporter trio trio with miles and peter. just friends! imagine that!
trn-17628, marvel spider-man 2017 cartoon. peter, miles, gwen and anya are classmates at a school for genius teens who become spiders together. gwen and anya have a gay vibe here.
earth-8311. spider-guin. the pun is great. gwen still being flightless is hilarious.
atsv gwen's penguin stuffed animal is a reference to her. and that her pink hair's a nod to her marvel rising counterpart.
all the spider-gwens, despite being from separate canons, affect each other. gwen has pink hair because marvel rising gwen did. gwen's a drummer from e65 who lost peter because comics gwen is.... and because movie-gwen is being made into miles's girlfriend, other versions of spider-gwen will probably follow suit. synergy.
which is why the girlfriendification of gwen in these movies is so awful. it's going to spread.
marvel action and msm17 gwen were chosen specifically to show that it isn't required for gwen to be spider-man's girlfriend. it was always possible for her to be just friends with miles and peter.
gwen is a symbol to the society. look at how great we are, we even raised gwen from the dead and made her one of us. and her presence makes miguel seem all the more special for being the one who did it.
the vibe between gwen and miguel is murky and fascinating. he keeps her close but treats her poorly. her father was redesigned for the movie to look more like miguel, whose defining death is now his daughter, whose name starts with a g. he is very much her father figure.
yet there are also miguels who are romantically involved with their gwens. earth-187319 is real. points for gwen for literally choosing to incinerate herself instead of date him.
like peter b, gwen exists for miguel in this gray area between daughter and girlfriend. unlike peter b, miguel can't or won't recognize gwen as her own unique entity. i think even he isn't totally sure what to do with gwen; he's using her as a gabi-replacement goldfish, but he's also very aware of other miguels whose gwens served a different role.
in my mind, he's on the verge of crossing that line. makes for eerier interactions.
adherence to canon is slowly wrecking miguel too. everyone is a victim.
perfect gwen of earth-8 is what a male writer would think is the ideal future for gwen stacy. it's what a father would want for his daughter: for her to grow up pretty, smart, polite, enter a respectable job and surround herself with respectable people. for her to marry and have the right number of kids with the safe boy he approves of, who won't challenge the status quo.
so though perfect gwen has a lot to offer the society, she's really here to be an ideal for gwen to strive towards. there's nothing scarier for a father than watching his daughter grow up and become a complicated, flawed adult.
especially watching her seek out romantic and sexual connections he doesn't approve of.
being the daughter archetype doesn't give you any more freedom or protection than being the lover.
miguel only thinks gwen's special because he's the one that protected her. it's still all about him.
and of COURSE the way gwen's punished in atsv is being sent to another male figure for punishment. it's always about which man is currently in control of gwen.
comic-gwen's most effective male villains are men who want to control, influence and own her or punish her for not using her power (... her body) in ways they approve of. just like in the comics, gwen is pressed into joining a shady organization led by a man whose name starts with the letter m (miguel, murdock) who holds her power at arms length unless she performs services for him, and has a skeevy vibe with her.
and yes, comics gwen beat the shit out of him.
'gwen yeets miguel' was the only note i had for this section in my outline.
the one person who'll do something about gwen's death is hobie.
bringing back the red. and a mention of something dangerous. that's coming back too.
punching up is the answer. she's finally figured that out.
she's on her way to hobie.
another serendipitous moment: if 616 gwen stayed in london, she'd have survived. and look at that, along comes a londoner spider-man who's the only one working to secure her freedom, and who wants her to have self-definition and agency. it's too perfect.
closer quote
from jason latour's radioactive spider-gwen. this is the moment gwen-617 calls the watcher on his shit for trying to force 65 gwen to be with miles to produce the earth-8 timeline, for mocking her female supporting cast, for being angry that getting venomized didn't turn gwen into a villain. in short, for demanding she fit into a neat little box instead of become her own character.
and in context here, it refers to miguel, not being able to handle the thought of a gwen not fitting into her preconceived box.

I won't say I'm in Love(Stephen Strange)
Paring: Dr. Strange x reader
Summary: Dr. Strange and the reader is forced to work and train together. They say they hate each other but everyone else can tell it's everything but hate.
Tumblr media
Me and Peter sat quietly in the dim hallway of the hospital. Me and him silently listened to our mother's mix tapes she made for us as we waited for our grandpa to bring us into our mother's hospital room. She was sick and had cancer. It came out of nowhere and no one knew how to cope with it.
Me and peter never met our dad and she would always told us he was from outer space. As Kids we believed but if it was really true how come he never came for us?
When our mother died something snapped in my brother. He went buzerk and my grandpa dragged him out of the room. I soon as I ran after him he was already out the door of the hospital. I ran outside after him to find him completely gone. "star Lord?" I shouted out his nickname hoping he would respond but he didn't. That was the day my best friend and partner in crime left me.
As Time passed people came and went out of my life. I lost my mother and brother both in the same day then five months later my grandfather died of a heart attack. I was left alone and got passed on from home to home In till the starks found me.
The starks brought me back to life especially Tony. I consider Tony more of a brother than Peter as time passed. Howard and Maria both treated me like I was their own child and Tony never made me feel I was adopted. I felt happy then and proud I was now part of a family. But then my new parents were token away from me too. Once again all that was left was me and a brother.
Tony took care of me and we never left each other's sides. He always told me it was me and him against the world and I believed him.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
When I met him all I could think of is that he was like Tony only with a cape instead of armer. Stephen strange was a different breed as I would discrib. He was cocky but at the same time was to serious for his own good. He was a total stick in the Mudd at times and I could never understand why Tony asked him to help me control the powers I just resently discovered I had.
When I met him he had that 'I'm better than you' look. He'd look at me with his arms crossed and his head tilted down because he was so much taller than me.
"I'm Dr. Stephen strange, nice to meet you" he said almost looking annoyed.
"(y/n)" I simply said and crossed my arms.
" sorcerer Supreme has agreed to help you control your powers" Tony said.
"yeah because I'm a danger to all human race apparently" I said sarcastically. "I'll be the judge of that" strange said.
"try not to kill each other" Tony said walking away annoyed.
"let's get this over with" he said walking into the training room. "agreed" I said reluctantly walking behind him.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
"your not concentrating hard enough" I clinched my jaw as he snapped at me. Deep down I knew he was trying to stay calm and have patience but the more frustrated we got with each day the worse I got.
We were in our normal area in the compound. I was originally built for Tony to test his suits and for the hulk if Bruce was having trouble controlling him. It was bullet proof and was probably the strongest and safest room in the compound.
"I'm trying okay! You yelling at me isn't helping!" I snapped back and Sparks and strings of lightning was hovering and around my wrists and wrapping it self around my fingers.
Stephen took a deep breath but didn't back away like most people did if my powers started spiraling out. It was almost reassuring. It was almost comforting he wasn't afraid.
Anyway, that didn't cover the fact he was getting on my nerves and I was getting on his and It was almost amusing. He took a deep breath and rubbed his eyes. "okay... Let's just try again" he said softly.
I nodded not daring to meet his piercing blue eyes. I concentrated on my hands and soon enough a mix of blue and purple energy and Sparks formed around my palms and finger tips. I didn't realize I was holding my breath in till the energy slowly disappeared from my hands. When it was going a took a deep breath and slowly looked up at Strange.
"well, we're getting somewhere at least" he spoke as I rolled my eyes. Would it kill him to give a real compliment. "I think we're done for today" in seconds he walked through one of his shining gold portals and he was gone.
While after he left I decided to get out the room myself. I walked down the quiet hallway lost in my own thoughts and strangely most of it was about Stephen. I lost my train a thought when I heard three voices coming from the lab. I didn't think much of it till one of them said my name. It was Tony.
"will you just give it a chance"
"I've tried but she won't" it was Stephen's voice. "she's doesn't care! It's a waist of time" so much for making progress I guess. I don't know why it hurt so much to hear him say I'm a waist time. I guess I doesn't matter we hate each other.... Right?
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
The sent of bacon and sausage filled the compound kitchen as well as the quiet sounds of Journey playing at a low volume so I didn't disturb the sleeping residents of the building. Cooking was my therapy. It just made me happy and the team loved my cooking.
When the song don't stop believing started I slowly swayed my hips and sang along quietly. I jumped at the sudden voice that destroyed the peace.
"what are you doing?" Strange's voice asked. I rolled my eyes. It was way to early to deal with his nonsense.
"cooking breakfast, I thought you were smarter than that" I said putting my eggs on a plate as he opened his mouth again.
"journey? It's there Escape album, came out in 1981" he spoke looking at the hologram screen that had my Playlist.
"no shit Sherlock" he rolled his eyes. I sighed and gave me a gentle smile. "you like music?" he slightly smiled and nodded. "only the classics tho"
"same here, 60 to late 80s rock" I spoke "80 was the best time for movies and music"
"oh yeah? What type of movies you like?" he asked setting down.
"just about anything except romance" I said. "no chick flick moments"
"excepted that" he mumbled a little too harsh than he ment too. And definitely took as being himself. "why watch something I can't have nor want"
He looked up and raised an eyebrow questioning me. "I don't have to explain myself, quit psychoanalyzing everything" I scoffed
"I didn't say anything" he said putting his hands up in defense. "no but you were think it"
"why do you have to take everything the wrong way?" he asked getting slightly annoyed and my emotions was right there with him.
I stood up clenching my fist. Before I could do anything Tony was in between us. "before you be-head each other we have a mission down at a Hydra base."
I scoffed at my brother. "whatever, you got lucky this time" I said looking at the wizard. "save the energy short stack" he said with a smirk.
"that's it!" my running start at him was cut short by Clint. He wrapped his arms around my waist and picked me up as I kicked and screamed. "let me kick his magical ass!"
"calm your ass down, will ya" Clint sighed pulling me out of the room. "you can kill him later..we need him alive for this mission"
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
The mission wasn't going good for the most part. A couple of us did get separated and our calms were down so we had no communication. I ran down a empty hallway trying to find the rest of my team mates. When I got to the end of the hallway I was dumbstruck at the number of soldiers that were in the the room. Steve and bucky fighting most of them on the ground while Tony and Clint worked on higher grounds.
"watch out (n/n)!" Nat shouted. I quickly turned around and through one of the soldiers on the ground and shot him a couple of times with the hand gun Bucky gave me. I quickly moved up to higher ground. Which also happened to be a ledge that stretched above a big vad of gamma or toxic waste. I quickly stopped as the smell of chemicals burned my noise and the back of my throat.
Before I could back up someone grabbed me by the throat and held me above the steaming liquid. Tony was the first to set up and try to save me. "you come any closer and I drop her. She's drown as the chemicals eat at her skin and she'll be nothing but a memory"
"oh, I'm shaking in my custom, baby seal leather boots!" I said sarcastically not letting the man see the fear I was feeling.
"let her go now!" Strange voice boomed as he floated to the level I was at. The Hydra soldier only laughed darkly and squeezed on my neck harder. "you two's squabbling doesn't come unnoticed" he stared at Stephen as his hands glue brighter the madder he got. "I bet your life would be so much easier without her." that stun because I knew he was right. Me and Stephen never got along no matter how much I was falling for him.
"Stephen get everyone out of here" I crooked out as my throat burned and bruised.
"let. Her. Go" Stephen said more sternly.
"with pleasure" the man said and let go. I felt my body drop lower and lower and wind surrounded me. I didn't feel the chemical burn I was expecting instead I fel through one of Stephen's portals and landed in his arms. He let out a sigh of relief and held me to his chest. I flenched at the unknown contact.
"I had it under control" I grumbled. "a simple thank you would suffice" he shot back.
"I hate you" I snapped.
"I hate you too"
"yeah, yeah we can all hate each other after the mission" Tony shouted as he took down a couple of people. I got back in the game immediately when I saw one of them pointing a gun at Clint.
"Clint!" I shouted and took the bullet before it could make contact with his body. Clint quickly cought mw before I hit the ground. "Damnit that hurt." I said and put my hand on my blood soaked hip. I made the mistake of bringing my hand up and looking at my hand. The sight of it all red made me stomach turn. "oh shit"
My vision got blurry and I turned to Steve and Stephen. "doc if you need to know my blood type is red" my vision went black as fell in his arms.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
I woke up with a sharp pain in my waist. I quickly looked around and noticed I was in the medical center at in the compound. I set up quickly and looked around. My eyes softened when I saw Tony fast asleep in a chair right next to my bed.
I reached my hand over and nudged his knee. His head slowly sat up and he looked at me with a smile. "hay kid how you feeling?"
"little sore but I'm fine" Tony moved his chair closer to the bed and sat his elbows on the bed. "how's everyone else?" I asked
"everyone is fine. Clint and Nat got sent on another mission and everyone else is just spread out around the compound"
"Stephen is outside in the waiting room" Tony suddenly said. I raised an eyebrow. "why?"
Tony scoffed. "he hasn't left that spot... He would be in here if I let him"
"don't make me laugh... He hates my guts." Tony rolled his eyes. "that's far from the truth"
I rolled my eyes and slowly sat up from my bed. Tony was quick to help me but I declined it. Moved to the closed door and opened it. Just to see if Tony was lying or not.
To my surprise Stephen was there and he was quick to stand up. He looked different, he wasn't in his usual ater. A black T-shirt and gray jacket covered his body. He looked like he hadn't got any sleep. My eyes softened at his state but at the same time I didn't want to him too see I have a soft spot for him.
"h-how are you feeling?" he asked quietly. His hands started to slightly shake as he stuffed them in the pockets of his dark jeans.
"I'm fine" I said softly. "that's good" he said softly looking at the ground. I titled my head to the side at his body language. Once he was cocky and always had his head up around me with a athoraty look. Now leg is bouncing up and down nervesly and his head is down refusing to look at me.
"I'm glad you're feeling better but I gotta go" he said quickly starting to walk off. "just be more careful next time.... please" he said before leaving. Stephen a month ago would have ment that as in insult but the this Stephen who seemed almost vonarble ment it sencerly.
It's been a week since I've been released from the med center. It's also been a week since I've seen Stephen. It's been honestly depressing without him. All the fighting and bicoring don't matter anymore I just wish he was around.
"why is it so quiet?" Sam asked coming into the kitchen where the rest of us were.
"probably because Strange isn't here to fight with (y/n)" Tony said not taking his eyes from his lab top. I rolled my eyes at my brother and rested my head on his shoulder an watched him type God knows what in his lab top.
"oh I'm pretty sure the peace won't last long" Nat said nodded towards the portal Stephen just walked through.
"there's something called doors, maybe you heard of them" I joked. It was an honest to God joke but it hit Stephen the wrong way.
"tell that to your little robot toy" he snapped motioning towards me and vision. Vision looked up from his book giving Strange a questioning look. I considered vision one of my best friends and there was nothing more than that because he had Wanda.
"it was a joke lighten up" I snapped. "well sometimes I don't know the difference" he quipped back.
"are you bipolar or something?" I asked. "last week you were outside my hospital room all worried and stuff now your back to being your normal self."
"who said I was worried?" he snapped back. The people in the room looked at us watching us go at each other's throats. It's getting to the point where it hurt to fight with him. Last week I saw a different side of him that I wish that would come out more. The side of him that was genuinely concerned for me and was showing me his soft side.
The main point is we're both to stubborn to show and tell how we truly feel. My reasoning is I was afraid he'd leave me like my biological brother and mother did. His reasoning is I have no idea. He was hard to read and he sure as hell won't tell you how he feels.
"why don't you two cut the horse shit and admit your sexual feelings for one another" Tony intruped.
"whoa!" Stephen said backing up. "your way of base bud" I said quickly.
"oh spare me, spare me. Why don't you guys just admit it already" Tony said.
I walked away from the situation and left to be on my own. A month ago I would try to have the last words but now it just doesn't matter. My thoughts of being alone were proven wrong when vision phased through the wall of my bed room.
"are you okay?" he asked. I only nodded my head as he took a seat next to me.
"you know he cares about you he just doesn't know how to show it" wanda's voice said suddenly. We both looked up and saw Wanda in the door way. I only shrugged.
"you know you can tell us, what's going on?" Wanda asked setting on the other side of me.
"nothing, I'm fine" I said. Wanda and vision knew I was lying. "you love Stephen" she mumbled.
I scoffed. "I don't love him I don't even tolerate him."
Wanda looked at me kinda sad as she read my mind I'm guessing. She looked down and sighed. "you don't have to be afraid"
"... Right"
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
A ship suddenly came landing into the yard of the compound making the hole building shake. The ship landed or crashed as it sounded. Stephen arched an eyebrow as we shared a look in confusion. We both ran outside with steve and Tony behind us. "well we got companie" I said crossing my arms.
The ship was a rust bucket almost worst than the Millennium falcon from star wars. It was a bright orange and grayish blue and had dents all over it. The front door of the ship cracked open and Stephen's clock immediately tugged away from him and shielded me. "tell your little buddy to keep his hands to himself before I throw him in the dryer" I whispered to Strange. The material dropped almost like if he had a head it would me hung low. I sighed and patted it as the people pulled out of the ship.
It was some team I thought with so much sarcasm it wasn't even funny. One was a small tree and the others were a raccoon, a green woman, a big muscular gray man, a girl with bug like intenas, and a man who was the only human in their crew. The man looked familiar but I couldn't connect the dots.
"who are you guys?" I asked sternly as red Sparks of energy surrounded my fingers. Stephen put his hand in front of me motioning me to stop.
"its the Guardians" Tony replied. "who?"
"come on man" the human man said. "we're the Guardians of the galaxy" he said like I was supposed to know.
"so what do they call you?" I asked the man. "I'm Peter Quill but I go by star Lord" my heart dropped into my stomach and my chest tightened. All the memories of us as kids came flooding back. "Peter?" I whispered.
Quill tilted his head to the side reckonizing the voice. He slowly walked up to me and squinted his eyes and studied me. After a few minute his eyes widened. "(y/n)?" I scoffed and ran back into the building.
"I'll talk to her" I heard Stephen's voice say as he followed behind. "(y/n) wait"
I didn't. I only continued to walk not wanting to talk to him. I suddenly stopped though as one of his portals opened In front of me making me stop as he walked out of it and toward over me. "you want to talk about?" he asked.
I shook my head. "definitely not. Specially not to you" I scoffed and walked away.
"why not?" he asked making me stop in my tracks. I quickly whipped around making him step back a bit. "you hate me just as much as I hate you so why do you care about my well being? I Asked him."you want to Train me and get out of here as soon as you can"
"no I don't" he said softly. "oh that's bull shit!" I snapped back. "I heard you talking to Steve and tony the week you showed up... You Said I was a waist of time so sorry I'm such a burden to you"
"will you just be quiet for five seconds!" he snapped. "just let me explain"
I crossed my arms and stared daggers into him. "okay, please inlighten me" he immediately claimed up. You could see his chest rising quickly and the color in his cheeks darkened. You could see him waging out all his options. The pros and cons. Then like a light switch he threw it all down the garbage disposal.
"you know what?" he snapped stepping closer to me with made me immediately step back in till I hit the book shelf. We were all most nose to nose and I could feel the heat radiating off of him. "I don't have to explain anything to you"
"of course not!" I snapped. I placed my hands on his chest and pushed him away from me. "that would be to fucking convenient"
"I'm getting so tired of your 'I don't give a shit' additude" he said balling his fist up. "you don't care about anyone but yourself"
"if that's the case why don't you just walk through one of your little portals and leave just like everyone else" I whispered. His commit fell like a ton of brick. There was on reason for him to care about me but the time he took to help me get better with my powers I couldn't help but fall for him and I hated it.
His eyes seemed to soften. He looked like he regretted everything he said. At least that what I hoped it was. "(y/n).." he started to walked towards me but I put my hands up in defense and walked around him before he could get his hands on me. I started to walked to the door and he was hot on my trail. "(y/n) I'm sorry" he said.
"just leave me alone strange" I said before closing the door in his face.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
"I herd your fight with the wizard" a familiar gruff voice said. I smiled softly and looked away from the stars I was currently staring at.
"hey hawk" Clint smiled and put his leather jacket over my bear shoulders. "it's cold tonight what are you doing?" he asked setting down next to me. I sighed and put my head on his shoulder.
"come on were best friends you can tell me anything" he said looking up at the dark sky.
"Everything is just happening all at once." I stated. "with my real brother showing back up and with Strange... It's just getting to me"
"and strange I hate him!" I said through my teeth. "you don't hate him that's the problem" I looked up at him with my eye brows raised. "what do you mean?"
"it's quite the opposite... You love him" moved out of his arms and looked at him with angry but exasperated look.
"I've seen the way you guys look at each other" he said standing up. "neither one of you know how to show that so your using hate and anger on each other"
"I'm going to bed Clint" I whispered and gave him his jacket back. Before he could voice anymore opinions or thoughts I walked back inside.
My heart pounded as Clint's words played on a loop in my head. The worst part is I knew he was right but I didn't know how Stephen would feel. He wasn't a easy man to read and his attitude towards me explained a lot on how he feels about me.
A stray tear fell out of my eyes as I squeezed my eyes shut and quickened my pace to my room. I was almost there but a body turned the corner making my smack right into him.
"I sorry (y/n)" it was quill. He quickly grabbed my hand and pulled me to my feet. "it's fine Quill" I said rubbing my eyes.
He sighed and looked down. "I'm your brother you shouldn't have to use our last name to address me"
"my last name is Stark, it hasn't been Quill since the day you ran away"
"I didn't run away" he whispered. His eyes fell to the ground refusing to look at me. "I tried to come back to you but they wouldn't let me."
"and when you were an adult? You Enjoyed your freedom and stealing junk more than looking for me, admitted it"
"no I won't because it's not true" he said looking at me this time. "I don't believe you.... I can't believe you"
He nodded. "I understand" he walked off leaving me alone in the hallway.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
"(y/n) where are you!" I hear Tony shout in the coms. I ran down the shaking hallway as the explosions and rubble got more aggressive. "I'm Almost to the quin jet" I breathed out as my chest tightens from the lack of oxygen from running.
"Quill your sister is missing! She far behind" Rocket's voice said next. I ran even faster in till a wall blew up and I felt my body being thrown like a rag doll. My body stun as I landed on rubble and embers. I curled up into a ball as I coughed and hacked up blood. My brain was on a frenzy and all my bones felt like it was just put through a blender.
Voice of people I call family faded in and out in my ears. The vision of smoke and fire became bury as my eye became weak. I let the tears fall freely as I slowly started to except my fait. I regret nothing I suppose all except for Stephen.... God damn it Stephen I left things with him in the most horrible way. I did love him.. Some how I fell in love with the doctor and I may never get to tell him.
I let my eyes close softly but squeezed shut an a uncomfortable why when I felt people surrounded me and pick me up.
"(y/n)?" it was Stephen's voice. I never felt so happy to hear his voice. "(y/n) come one wake up" his voice got quieter and body became num in his arms. I used the Last of my straight I had to look into his piercing blue eyes.
Those eyes were glossed with tears as he held me tightly. "please... Just keep your eyes open, I'm gonna get you some help"
"Stephen..." I said softly. I rased my hand to his cheek and traced his blood stained beard with my thumb. "it's time Stephen... It's my time"
"n-no I can't...." he stuttered out. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!" he sobbed. "I treated you like shit"
I shushed him. "it's okay.. Stephen I love you" he rested his forehead to mine letting his tears fall and land on my cheek.
"I love you too" is the lasted thing I heard before my heart had its last beat and I slipped into the after life.
°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°~°
(Stephen's pov)
Her grip on me loosened and I couldn't feel her chest rising anymore. I lifted my head and saw she wasn't with me anymore. I snapped. "NO! NOT HER!"
I let out a sob as I gently laid her down and grabbed the necklace that held the time stone. I knew and was thought not to change the past this drastically but at this point I didn't care and I needed her back. I waisted to much time and I lost my chance to be happy with her but not this time.... I'll get a do over.
The building shook violently as the others shouted for (y/n). I took my chance and ran after her. When I did she was taking cover and shooting at a couple of soldiers. I was quick to her side and and summed a shield to protect us.
"what are you doing Strange?" she asked almost annoyed. If I'm being honest I'll never ever complain about her attitude again.
"I need to tell you something" I quickly said. "can it wait?" she asked taking down on more guy. "I don't think so"
"I love you" she said before I could get anything out. I took me off Guard but I was far from disappointed.
"I know" is all I said with a smile. It was enough for the both of us. She didn't need any reassuring she just knew.

Escape
Tumblr media
pairing: yandere!peter ballard x fem!reader
summary: you attempt to escape, but get caught a few days later.
warnings: yandere themes, pregnancy, Manipulation, Implications of kidnapping.
a/n: i don’t really like the pregnancy trope but i still add it here and then so if you do not like that, click off. Also, Reader is 19 in this part! Peter is 20/21. I forgot to specify it so my bad.
Part 1
It had been a few months of hell for you. You are around five months pregnant. You were too young for this.
011 managed to run off but you knew she’d try to help you someday. Even though you told her she needed to get free, not you.
You missed her so much. And you hoped El missed you too. That nickname she loved a lot. “Y/n, good morning, Peter smiled.
You remained silent, you no longer trusted him. He sighed." You have to eventually talk to me.” You scoff. "You hold me here against my will, How could I ever?”
After that, you turned away. His patience was almost gone, he wouldn’t ever show it, yet. Peter knew you’d eventually fall in love with him.
Somehow.
You were stubborn, and he noticed that from the very beginning. “I killed Papa for you! What more do you want? He sighs.
“Nothing, Just my freedom.”
He laughed. "You never even had freedom to begin with, y/n. You think Papa would’ve given you that?”
“I’d rather be there than here… you murmur. He caressed your cheek.”I promise, I won’t let anyone hurt you.”
You knew he meant his words. “Or our child, He adds, smiling. “Okay… You whisper. “I have to do something, Y/N, Stay here."
You nod. And let him go. However, That was your opportunity to escape. And technically you were bringing your baby too. Your child couldn't have him as a father, Peter was too terrifying.
Once You knew he was gone, you found an escape, you brought your items with you, And escaped. You sighed of relief. You found your long-lost father, D/N. So you were going to visit him. M/N you found as well.
You found their home. You knocked on the door, and M/n opened, immediately recognizing You. "y/n? I thought you died when you were born! She sobbed, hugging you as you enter. M/n noticed you were pregnant, too.
"I missed you, Mom, I will tell you everything, You assure her. She smiles.”They told me that… I lost you.”
“You didn’t Mom.”
You entered the house and put your stuff down. And you explained you were in the lab for most of your life until you escaped not so long ago.
She was shocked. “Dr. Brenner lied to me, M/n whispered. You hug her again then she shows you the room you were supposed to be in.
Still, It looked like a nursery and you smile. You wished you got to know your parents and grow up with them.
Papa though, was pure evil and wouldn’t let you go. You only escaped because of 001, who was pretty bad as well.
As you settled in, M/n asked,”Who is the father y/n?” “Oh, You sighed.”It’s sort of complicated but-“
“Y/n? Is that you?”
You saw your father and smile, hugging him and confirming it was you. Over the next few days, You were happy and positive. Your morning sickness and pain from pregnancy sucked.
But you had support from your parents so everything was going good. You felt free from Peter forever.
How stupid was he to leave you by yourself? Whatever, you were glad he was. You met your mother and father too.
They seemed happy about their unborn grandchild though. “I never thought I’d see you again, M/n said.”Well, I thought you weren’t alive. And so we never had another pregnancy.”
However, when you let your guard down after a few days that day changed. “I’m going to bed a bit early, You tell your mother.
“Okay, honey.”
Entering your bedroom, You gasp. There he was, Peter. He stood in your room, a strange smile on his face. "I will protect you, He told you. "why did you run?"
You whimper, stepping back into the wall, feeling pain in your arm as he stood next to you. then all of a sudden, everything went black.

Endgame Jegulus Head Canons
They kept it a secret, at first.
They get together in James's fifth year, and Regulus's fourth.
James calls Regulus not only Reggie, but baby just to piss him off.
Regulus gets the mark the summer before his sixth year.
Whenever Sirius and Regulus would fight in the hallways, James would never look Regulus in the eyes, he was always too afraid that he would let something loose.
The first time they exchanged 'I love you's' was a few days after James found out Regulus had been forced to take the dark mark. He kissed his arm and whispered sweet nothings to him.
After summer and winter breaks, Regulus would close himself off for a little while after. It hurt James at first, until he knew why.
After James became head boy, he and Regulus would sleep in his room, instead of various meet-up spots.
The rest of the mauraders found out in James's seventh year. Sirius had screamed at him, how could James do that to him? Remus and Peter had been upset as well, Remus albeit more because of his boyfriend.
Sirius didn't talk to him, or Regulus for two weeks after he found out. Eventually, he and James sat down and he threatened to kill him if he ever hurt his little brother.
James stopped liking Lily in his fourth year, after he finally gave up on her. Although, they did become close friends, but nothing more.
For their seventh year prank finale, James and Sirius hung up pride flags around the school, and Sirius kissed Remus in the great hall during breakfast.
On the day of James's graduation, he proposes to Regulus. Of course, Reg says yes.
James comes out to his parents that same day.
They have to keep their relationship secret, because of the war.
Regulus becomes a spy for the order.
They find out Peter is a traitor, and sadly, they have to kill him.
Their wedding is absolutely beautiful. Wolfstar, Dorlene, Lily and Minerva Mcgonagall are the only guests. It takes place in a field full of wild flowers and blue skies. It's the first time James sees Regulus cry.
Soon later though, James sees him cry for the second time, when he feels the kicking coming from James's stomach.
James decides he's never felt real fear before when he watches his husband almost drown.
He saves him, of course. But not all of him. His left arm and peaceful sleep will forever be gone.
They decide to name him Harry James Potter. He has messy brown hair, big grey eyes and skin like a doll.
Uncle Padfoot really loves Harry, he does. Just not when he's six months old and breaks Uncle Moony's favorite mug.
Voldemort still (somehow) finds them. It's too bad that Lily is visiting when he is.
James and Regulus attend her funeral with heavy hearts. Harry's forehead adorns a lightning bolt scar.
Raising Harry with one arm is quite the task, Regulus often ponders.
Sirius, Remus, Regulus and James have a bet on Harry's Hogwarts house.
James and Sirius owe Regulus five galleons each when Harry's letter comes back with the words Slytherin written within it.
They owe him five again, when Harry sends another letter talking all about Draco Malfoy, and how annoying his blonde hair is when it glows in the sunlight.
That's why their not surprised in fourth year, during the second task when Harry drags Draco out of the water with him.
Regulus has never willing killed anyone. But when Sirius dies, so does the nearest death eater in sight. He doesn't bother looking at their face.
James and Regulus hold their son as he cries about his boyfriend, who was forced to get the mark. Just like Regulus.
Together, they worry about Harry, Neville and Luna, who are alive, somewhere out in the world, trying to destroy horcruxes.
On nights where Regulus wakes up screaming about wet hands and dead sons, James holds him close, like he used to when they were teenagers.
James cries twice that day. Once, when he sees Harry after he escaped Malfoy Manor. The second time when he sees Luna. Her eyes are dull, and she has blood dripping from her mouth.
Regulus helps Harry bury Dobby.
Harry meets Teddy Lupin, a surprise baby that came from a one night hook up between Remus and Tonks. Remus had thrown up afterwards, and decided Tonks was better as a friend, without knowing of his son.
Regulus holds his wand to Voldemorts face when he brings out Harry's dead body. James is right next to him.
With the help of Neville, Regulus kills Nagini.
James almost starts sobbing when he sees his Harry alive and breathing, throwing spells with his wand.
Regulus Potter realises how much he loves his family when he sees his son staring down at the dead, mortal body of the dark lord.
Draco and Harry take in Teddy as their own, which is a relief to Andromeda.
At Harry's wedding, James gets flashbacks of Regulus walking down the isle as Draco does. They'd chosen the same spot as he and Regulus. It's bittersweet, with the two empty chairs for Sirius and Remus.
Regulus and James go to their first pride parade. Regulus magiks rainbows onto their cheeks, and together they yell and kiss and cheer.
James Sirius Potter is a beautiful baby.
They are old now, so very old. They have a small house that overlooks a sunny clearing in the woods. They have rocking chairs that they sit in and drink tea. They tell stories of love and pranks to their four grandchildren.
James Sirius, Al, Scor and Lily remind James of the mauraders. Regulus shakes his head in exasperation, that's full of grey curls.
When James dies, Regulus forgets how to feel again.
Slowly, things brighten, but Regulus will always remember. His everything, his happiness, his partner for infinity.
So it's not unsurprising when Regulus slips away from the world on a warm summer day, a few years after James. His hand is held by a crying Harry, Teddy behind him.
They're buried together, under a willow tree. The whole family visits, at first. But slowly they all trickle away, until it's only Harry and Scorpius who still come by.
James and Regulus loved each other, beyond words and everything else in the entire world. Harry vows to remember that.

Cherik family head cannons pt. 1
Quick summary: After DOFP, Erik stays with Charles. They start to date and eventually realize that after everything maybe their more than boyfriends and end up having a small non legal marriage(because fuck 1970 or anytime before 2015) they discuss the prospect of kids. Charles has always wanted children, and Erik has always wanted a large family to stick to Shaw. But they decide there not ready for kids as they are rebuilding the school. But of course that gets ruined when a women comes to their door claiming to need their help. This women is Natalya, the ‘best fiend’ of Magda, mom of Wanda and Peitro. Magda and Erik had gotten in a relationship a little before Erik was taken to the Pentagon. That resulted in the twins. But when they were born, Wanda’s mutation manifested and well the twins were taken but a mutant control organization. Magda later died. Natalya and made it her mission to find Erik, and the kids. So a little mission gets started and Natalya, who is a witch, and Erik break into the MCO to retrieve two practical babies. And of course Charles and Erik take them in with out question. A few months later Peter and Lorna show up looking for Erik, and they are integrated into the family.
Wanda was a very quiet child, and was behind on development, while Peitro was the opposite.
Lorna was 14 when she joined the family, and when Charles and Erik became her legal guardians. But Lorna held some resentment for Erik. Her mother had recently died due to cancer and she blamed Erik for not being there. However she did find comfort in Charles and quickly accepted him as her step dad.
The first time Lorna called Erik Pa, he didn’t know how to respond and froze. She laughed.
Peter didn’t give much of a fuck, and literally five minutes after the reveal of being Erik’s son he started calling Erik Pa, and Pops.
All the kids decided that Erik was Pa and Charles is Dad.
Wanda and Peitro called him Vati as well as Pa.
Peitro’s mutation took some time manifest, but he was still fairly early. He manifested when he was two, and Lorna was the one watching the twins when it happened. He was just learning to walk and Lorna looked at Wanda for two seconds and he was gone.
Peter almost threw a party when he found out his little brother was a speedster to.
Charles burns water, Erik learns he loves to cook. Turns out Peter inherited this gift so the two are the main cookers in the family. Lorna will occasionally make pancakes and waffles from a box but that’s as much as she knows. Wanda, when she’s older, learns how to bake and loves it. Peitro only knows how to make smoothies and that’s it.
Charles was an atheist for most his life, believing in science over religion, but he understood why it was very important to Erik that the children be raised Jewish. After a few years of celebrating Shabbat, Hanukkah, Passover, and visiting the synagogue, Charles started to feel more and more comfortable in Judaism and grew a connection with it, till eventually he converted.
Because Wanda, Peitro, and Peter are Roma, and since Charles and Erik aren’t, and since Erik knows what it’s like to not be able to practice his culture, he and Charles got in contact with Magda’s brother, Django and his wife Mayra, who had recently immigrated to America, and made sure they could be Uncle Django and Aunt Mayra to the kids. They talked to the couple and explained how they wanted their children to be taught about their culture. Aunt Mayra and Uncle Django can often be found babysitting the kids or being over for family dinners.
Natalya visits the twins every now and then. To them she is Aunt Natalya. But if the twins had never taken and her dear Magda had never died, than to the twins she would have been ‘mama’. However the twins were taken, and her dear Magda did die, so she remains Aunt Natalya.
Raven is Aunt Raven to all the kids.
A speed round of the aunts and uncles: Aunt Irene, Uncle Logan, Uncle Hank, and Aunt Emma
Wanda was a selective mute when she was little. The only times she would talk would be to say the name of the person she wanted the attention of.
Charles could read her mind and so she gravitated towards him since she could have a conversation without having to talk.
Charles noticed that she had some telepathic abilities so he taught her how to send messages. She doesn’t use them often with anyone but her family.
Wanda used to hide behind Erik’s legs when she was nervous. Or she would pull on his pant leg to ask to be picked up.
With Charles, Wanda would pull on the blanket he normally has over his legs so that Charles would pick her up and she could sit on his lap.
Once Charles taught an entire class with Wanda on his lap. She eventually feel asleep.
This is part one because somehow I wrote more than what was aloud on a text post haha

Happy Birthday Jason!
Jason ran as fast as he could through the streets back to his apartment where he knew his twin sister was waiting for him.  He raced up the fire escape and did a special tap against the window before opening it and entering the rundown broken apartment building.  As soon as he set his feet on the grossly stained carpet he felt a small body ram into him.
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY JAY-JAY!”
His small sister, Marinette, cheered loudly as she crushed him in a hug.  He smiled as he hugged her back.
“Hey Pix.  Have you been good, didn’ cause too much trouble did ya?”
She shook her head against his chest and then jumped back as she ran towards their thin dirty sheet they used at night and brought it over to him.
“Abuela gave me some money for cleaning her floors, so I gotcha somethin’!”
He pulled out a small cheap cardboard box from his hoodie pocket and handed it to her.
“Picked up enough money to get you somethin’ too.”
Her smile brightened, her smile didn’t belong in such a dark place.  They traded the gifts to each other and both were extremely happy.  Jason had given Marinette a small bracelet with a red string and different colored beads.  Marinette had gotten her brother an old book from the thrift shop that obviously used, but it was still good enough to be able to properly read from.  The book was titled Pride and Prejudice.  He looked so awed by the book and she felt immense pride in herself.  There was a bit of bread left over from a few days ago and Marinette made sure it was equally split so her brother also had his proper fill.  It was his birthday too after all!
When it was time to go to sleep Jason read a chapter of the book to her then, the big meanie, made her read a chapter for him.  She stuttered a lot, but he would just smile and help her pronounce the word.  She was so lucky to have such an amazing big brother.
~~~~~~~~ It just didn’t feel right.  He had been living in the manor for a year now, and today felt so wrong without her.  Marinette had been taken by CPS three months before he had been caught stealing the tires off of the Batmobile.  He needed the money to hire a private investigator in order to find his sister.  It’s not that he didn’t trust Bruce, he just didn’t want him to put his sister into the danger that he was putting himself into as the new Robin.  He just knew that she would insert herself into vigilante life if she knew he was doing it.
Alfred seemed to understand what he was going through as he walked into the kitchen.  He didn’t know how the man knew, but he learned not to question it after spending about half a year in the manor.  He was silently eating his pancakes when Dick burst into the room yelling,
“HAPPY BIRTHDAY J-BIRD!”
While scooping him into his trademark octopus hugs.  Jason struggled to get out of it as shock and adrenaline coursed through his veins.  Instincts from living on the streets for many years never really going away.
“How old are you now?  You’re 14, right?”
“Yea, now get off me!”
He did not in fact get off of Jason, at least not until Alfred told him to a few seconds later.  Rolling out his arms and shoulders he rolled his eyes at his brother and turned back to his food.  After a few moments of peace Dick poked his arm to get his attention.  Jason sighed and turned to the side to look at Dick.
“Yes?”
“Here, I got you a present.”
Dick said with a bright smile that reminded him so much of his younger sisters.  He looked down and saw a rectangular looking thing hidden behind brightly colored and nicely wrapped wrapping paper.  Jason carefully took the book with a small thank you nod and tore open the paper to be met with a nice hard cover book of Peter Pan.
“I know we already have it in the library, but I thought you would want your own, and I just felt like you would like it.”
Dick said as he saw the gentle, reminiscent(?) look in Jason’s eyes as he stared at the book.  Jason willed himself not to cry as he stared at the book.  The book that inspired the nickname he gave his sister.  Abuela had read this book to them while they had stayed at her home during a harsh winter day.  Bless her soul, he knew that she was in the best place of heaven, if that place even existed.
Barbara walked into the kitchen with a bright smile and ruffled his hair.
“Happy birthday Jay.”
She said happily.  Jason looked up and gave her a small smile.
“Thanks.”
He hugged the book close to his chest.
“Means a lot.”
~~~~~~~~ Jason was angry, he didn’t understand why this was happening.  His body burned and everything felt like it was burning with pain.  He was training in the League with Talia.  He thought he had found a hint on where his sister was, and apparently his actual birth mother.  No, it was just a trap, and he had died by Joker's hands, and his sister wasn’t even there!  Now he spent the day training with Talia and whoever she saw fit to handle him.  His thoughts wandered to what his sister was doing, to what her life was like, if she was part of a good home, if she was still on the streets, if she was even alive.  No, of course she was, she had to be.  He refused to believe that she was gone before he could see her again.
They are both 17 now, almost adults.  He would find her, but first he had to prove to Talia that he was ready.  He had to take out Bruce and his replacement.  D* that man, how dare he replace him like that.  He wasn’t just some tool, he was a person, he was important, he would show just how important he was.  This birthday was filled with rage that fueled him through the day, it was his motivation to find her one day and get his revenge.
~~~~~~~~ Jason watched silently as he attended a Justice League meeting with the rest of his family and Leaguers.  It was still rocky with his family, and he hadn’t been able to find a clue to where his sister was.  He still hadn’t told the others about her, though he was pretty sure B already knew about her from doing a background check or something.  He had never brought her up or done anything that made him think he actually knew about her though.  He had celebrated his 19th birthday, and so was she.  He was sure that she was still alive though.  He could never believe that she had passed.
A bright blue portal opened in the middle of the room just as expected.  Apparently Paris’s heroes were coming for a meeting or something today to discuss the Hero Ban there.  Five people in some form of animal themed suits walked through it.  A cat that looked like he could be Selina’s child, a bee, a snake, a dragon, and a ladybug.
“Hello, I am Coccinelle and we are here to discuss the ban that we put up during Hawkmoth’s reign.”
He looked up suddenly, his eyes transfixed on the girl in the Ladybug suit that spoke.  His heart began to pick up racing quickly.  Her voice was so achingly familiar.  Her English was slightly accented in French, but it also had a small Gotham tint to it.
If this was a trick he would find a way to make the universe pay for this.  He hoped, he prayed to whatever God out there that existed that this was truly a gift from the universe.  He hadn’t realized that he had walked towards her until he was at her level staring into her eyes.
“Red Hood, what are you doing?”
Batman asked in his gruff voice.  He gently took off his helmet and mask before taking both her hands in his at her gasp.
“What are you doing, you bonehead fool?!”
Robin yelled at him, his glare intensifying.
Tears welled up in those oh so familiar blue eyes.  He had to be sure though.
“Marinette, is that you?”
She gave him a small nod before pulling her into a bone crushing hug.  Sobs left the young girl and silent tears fell down his cheeks as he ran his fingers through her hair in a comforting manner.
“J-Jason...I-I’m-”
“Shhh, it’s ok Pixie-Pop.  I got ya.  I’m not leavin’ ya again.”
It was silent around them as everybody observed what was happening, though the Miraculous team was shocked they smiled in a gentle knowing way.  A birthday gift from the universe it seemed, he wouldn’t curse it again…..At least he wouldn’t until the next world ending event.  He had his sister back in his arms, and that’s all he could ever ask for.
