Oh no, I’m realizing I’m starting to get a bit tired of seeing TF One megop/dpax stuff

It’s not that it’s bad or anything, but I’m coming to the realization that they tend to be the same few genres of images and comics. I’m trying to figure out how specifically to word what I mean, but it’s not coming to mind at the moment. But they sort of evoke the same ideas and feelings I think

Technically you could say this is true of other varieties of megop as well, but usually when we see those, they’ve already been fighting for a long period of time, so you’ve got their current dynamic and long time of being apart to work with, as well as their origins. With TF One, the breakup just started, so the timeline and dynamic that comes with it is significantly more condensed and limited. If that makes sense

I’m also not criticizing people who make their dpax/megop stuff like this, honestly I probably would too if I drew them more. It’s kind of just a product of the movie being an origin story and the dynamics only now shifting between the two. There’s a very clear way to do content about them in this movie

It’s just that I’ve noticed this, and now it makes me a bit more disinterested in this version of megop, at least for now. Makes me want to seek out other variations a bit more

What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?

TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf

Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!

Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!

Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.

I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.

Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? They helped him and Elita save their friends, and unlike Sentinal Optimus has the actual Matrix this time. Idk mang. Woulda liked a bit more.

Transformers One, not my favorite design for Starscream. The head vents going wide at the bottom look weird to me, and his legs are so long and flat.

Megatron, as you stand before me, blade stabbing through my spark, through the pain and sorrow, I can't help but feel relief. Relief that between the two of us, you are the one to remain alive. With the war over, you having won, I would like to make one final request of you old friend.

Don't kill my comrades.

No matter how much you hate them, what threat they may pose, I beg of you. Leave them alive. It pains me to say, but without me, they won't interfere much with your plans anymore. I can only hope you remember your roots. The kindness and hope for something better your spark held when I was but your archivist, and you, my warrior. It might be selfish to think this in my final moments. But I've always loved you, Megatron.

Perhaps in death, will these feelings finally meet their end.

I love you. I loved you. I never stopped loving you, even in my final moments. I hope to Primus we meet in our next lives and I hope again that it's a much kinder life. One without war or inequality or corruption. One where I can hold your servo in mine without shame. One where you are not Lord Megatron and I Optimus Prime. Megatron glared at the body of the deceased Prime. A dark pit in his spark. A black hole threatening to swallow all its light. He had thought it a good idea to have Shockwave and Soundwave make a machine that would make the last moments and thoughts of anybot visible and audible. He thought maybe he'd see the Prime's thoughts pleading him to not kill his comrades, as well as fear. Something to explain why Optimus in his final moments commed him ".: Spare them:."

Megatron didn't spare them, of course. He was frankly going to enjoy killing them one by one. But they had all escaped.

How bothersome.

He'd find them someday. He's sure of it. And just to spit in Optimus's last wish, he will torture them, too.

The Prime's face in his last moments echoed in his mind. He growled at the useless longing in his spark, squeezing a random object and breaking it.

He still couldn't believe it. Optimus Prime in love with his arch nemesis. How foolish. How stupid. Ridiculous!

Megatron clawed at the chesplates just over his spark. He could not cry, for his tears had run dry long ago. Foolish indeed. This is not what he thought he wanted. Ruling over Cybertron, having cyberformed earth into a second world for his species.. He had thought he wanted it. Now that he had it, Megatron found it empty. His ambitions were gone, no longer did he have a true equal in this whole galaxy.

None would ever be Optimus Prime.

No, he had to set things right. A world without Optimus is not a world Megatron can live with. Where's the fun in getting everything he wants without a little bit of a constant challenge?

Megatron, a true Decepticon, able to deceive even himself. Primus mused at this. Silly child, went on to kill his other half. This just won't do.

Their short story won't end like this. Primus will not allow it. He Who is Forever Tainted by Unicron, you will live life anew. You shall only know when the time is right, and your debt to Primus has been paid off of what they have done. Do not make the same choices that lead you to make your biggest regret. Make no mistake, this wish is not for you, but for he who is favored by me.

Make the child of Primus, he who was once Orion Pax and later one of Primus's true Primes enjoy a life worth living.

"MEGATRON!"

Megatron woke up with a jolt. He tried to online his battle protocols, and they hummed loudly, ready to come out. But something stopped him. A servo, two, actually. Each cupped his cheeks and wiped away his tears. He turned to look at the bot whose servos they belonged to and found none other than Optimus Prime. "You're alive?"

Optimus looked bewildered for a moment, he could feel it through their bond. Bond? He felt affection, worry, and love from the Prime.

"I am very much alive, Megatron." Optimus leaned in to press their forehelms together. Megatron's servos easily reached to hold the Prime's waist as if they'd done so thousands of times. Maybe even more than that. "You must have had a nightmate."

"A nightmare.." It seemed so vivid. A world without Optimus, one where he had..

Megatron doesn't even want to think about it. His spark was still beating wildly in its chamber, and he recognized he still felt fear. A few well placed kisses from his bondmate further eased his worries and sorrow that still felt fresh in his processor and spark. Right. He and Optimus were Conjuxed now. Megatron greedily leaned into the kiss, but one small playful bap from his beloved made him huff and smile. Softening the kiss that would have become more desperate had it continued.

Megatron held Optimus for a long moment. His helm burrowed on the Prime's neck, the action mirrored by his other half. Small comforting kisses are being pressed on Megatron's neck along with quiet words of love. Primus, Optimus was a soft fool. But he was Megatron's soft fool.

They had layed back down at one point, still as close to one another as they could be. And they remained like that. Optimus having fallen asleep again at one point.

Megatron knew Optimus was a blessing, he just hadn't realized how much of one he was until he had that dream. No. The fragmented memories of his past life. Megatron had never seen them before, and even now they were hazy. But the feelings had persisted and carried over. He realized this now. It was thanks to them he reacted rather irrationally at many points in this life, but his longing for Optimus to be by his side remained the same. It had just taken a much, much more romantic turn than his other self would have thought.

Megatron had no regrets though. None at all. As he pressed a soft kiss on Optimus's audial, he smiled soft. "I love you." He wispered. He had said it so many times already, yet somehow this felt like the first.

Transformers One review

I'll start off with a non spoiler review.

First of all, amazing voice acting especially from Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree!! I didnt think Chris would be able to do a good orion/optimus voice but boy was I WRONG. They did amazing. Scarlett Johansson's voice for Elita was an amazing pick and keagan michael for bee's voice is also good.

Stellar voice acting with so much emotion!!

The animation is amazing. And the way they showed the world of cybertron is amazing. The world building in this movie is so good, i seriously feel like cybertron is a real planet with real creatures with its own rules, history, culture. They made the planet feel so alive, its insane.

All the characters were likeable, i was really vouching for all of them to succeed in their goals. The movie knows when to be funny and when to be serious, and it can get REALLY serious when it needs to be. The movie talks about real world problems and reflects it so well.

THE TRAILERS DID NOT DO THE MOVIE JUSTICE.

The trailers really made it look like a kids power ranger type of movie. The trailers gave it a vibe of:

"Bumblebee, you go left! D-16, you go right! And Elita.. well, you just be elita."

When the actual movie really wasnt. I kept my hopes low cause the trailers weren't really hyping me up that much and i didnt expect much from the movie overall but holy moly my expectations were blown away. The movie does have its flaws like any movie but yeah. This genuinely feels like the spiderverse of transformers. Truly amazing.

Overall 9.8/10, amazing job to everyone who worked on this movie, YOU COOKED!!!

I highly reccommend watching it in cinemas. Its worth it, just trust me on this!!!

Waiter! Waiter! I'd like a trilogy of transformers movies that are as good as this!

Id also like to add that this movie is the best transformers movie. And you dont have to be an insane transformers fan like me to like the movie, nor do you have to watch any other transformer movie to understand it. Its a great standalone movie. Its a movie great for both new and old transformer fans and people who are just looking for a good movie to watch.

Now onto the spoiler review

I said all that i wanted to say about the overall movie in the non spoiler review. Here, I'll talk about the actual characters and story.

THIS IS CINEMA HOLY MOLY.

I had to resist screaming in theaters especially the part where Orion and D16 went to that thruster thing to get a better view of the Iacon 5000 and d16 is all like: "You did all this for me?"

The character development with D16 slowly turning into the monster that is megatron is BEAUTIFUL.

The movie writes d16 in a way that makes us NOT want him to turn evil which makes him slowly turning into megatron and betraying orion all the more heartbreaking. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

Seriously, his descension into evil makes me wanna cry. His unbridled rage towards Sentinel portrayed through the voice acting is just WOW. You can really feel his anger through his voice.

The way his eyes change as the movie progresses is just great. They did great writing him, deep down I really wanted him to be redeemed and for him to NOT turn into a brute like sentinel even though I knew it was inevitable. Some transformations are good, useful even, but in the case of Megatron it was a terrifying transformation thats unfortunately permanent.

Sentinel prime, as much as I hate him he is still such a great character. I hate him so much I love him. THE SCENE WHERE HE WAS BEGGING D16 TO NOT KILL HIM SENT CHILLS. You can feel the amount of fear in his voice. It was a striking contrast to his confident demeanor, his ruthlessness as a 'leader', and he who is the literal killer of the Primes,

to see him BEG for his life truly shows how terrifying D16 is.

ORION PAX AKA THE GLORIOUS OPTIMUS PRIME.

A wonderful and entertaining main character. THE SCENE WHERE HE JUMPS OUT OF THE PIT AS OPTIMUS PRIME??? Holy moly that was so badass. AND THE LINE WHERE HE SAYS:

"We could've built the future together."

GOD IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY.

The expression he made when he saw D16 being absolutely BRUTAL to Starscream as he realizes that his friend is slowly transforming into someone evil is gut-wrenching.

And throughout the first part of the movie he was this reckless character who did stupid things, he had hope and determination unlike anyone. It made me question 'How could this guy possibly turn out to be the strong leader that Optimus is?'

But during that scene where he talked to the other miners and led the High Guard to sentinel made me 100% sure that yeah, this guy definitely can be a great leader. And the way he gave the miners a CHOICE to join him or not. That is PRIME.

Elita was a straight up girlboss. I love how they didn't make her just another love interest for Orion or made her just this girl who was a good fighter. She was sassy, witty, and a hard worker. I almost feel bad for her getting demoted and having to deal with the mess that is Orion, D16 and Bee. But anyways, shes an amazing character, really likeable personality who is way more than just a bot who's a good fighter (which was the impression i unfortunately got from the trailers)

Her pep talk with Orion was both funny and beautiful. She knows how to break someone down with her words and build them back up to be stronger. I loved her. Not to mention her design looks gorgeous??? Probably my fav elita design of all time.

At first I found Bee a strange addition to the movie and I was scared they were gonna make him an annoying character but thank god he really wasnt! He was a great comic relief character who had a lot of funny lines. He adds so much silliness into a serious movie and not in a bad way.

He knew when to be serious and the gravity of the situation with Sentinel being a terrible, corrupt leader. I loved the portrayal of him as this almost crazy guy whos been stuck being alone talking to inanimate objects in a place where all he does is burn trash all day (makes sense as to why he talks so much).

A really good character, thank primus they didnt make him annoying or overbearing.

Lastly, Cybertron itself. THE WORLD BUILDING IS SO GOOD. It's environment, its people (or bots?) make the planet feel so real. All of these cool mechanisms with the road and trains, the landscape during the train scene with the vapor wave-esque sun is just gorgeous. Such a beautiful portrayal of Cybertron that I love.

I personally dont think the movie NEEDS a sequel since the rest of the transformers just takes place after this, but if they make another movie thats as good as this, Im not complaining. If they do make a new movie though, I'll guess that it probably has something to do with the Quintessons or something idk.

Its a really beautiful take on Megatron and Optimus' backstory. And though there are many takes on it like how megatron was a gladiator and not a miner, etc,

This is still probably my favorite take on their story, its a really interesting portrayal of them and their fallout.

Anyways thats the end of my yap, honorable mentions to the music, it helped the immersion of the movie, and its really good.

Do note that Ive only seen it once, i might've gotten some stuff wrong but ill be looking to watch it again somehow in the future. My review may be subject to change but yeah.

You asked for responses to your TFOne review so here it is. I’m autistic so forgive if things come off rude, I’m doing my best. Anywho.

Your bias shows incredibly clearly. To the point things you hate I love and it just makes it clear to me they’re down sides in your review simply because of your own opinions. It’s especially notable to me because while you sympathized and enjoyed D-16 and felt Orion was passive, I felt the opposite. I found myself having the least empathy for Megatron I’ve ever felt and feeling a new understanding for Optimus I didn’t have before. So aside from your takes on those two, I do agree with a lot of your points. The side characters aka B and Elita don’t make sense or need to be there like they were. The pacing was off and the story made a lot of concessions simply so things would go the way they wanted. They brute forced plot points into happening that don’t make sense. But in a vacuum I think it all works well. They draw on a lot of different influences and working together with those it’s their end goal becomes incredibly clear. Which for me works a lot! I enjoyed the film having such an obvious vision. There are many things I didn’t like about the film and even left the theater the first time unsatisfied with it. But after having seen it 4 times now, I’ve grown a lot happier with it. I think it’s something that needs getting used to. Which of course having to see a film several times to really “get it” is not great but well I like it now so my bad. I agree the elite guards existence is a bit dumb and contrived but I think I get their reason for being a bit more. In the end I’m not sure why I’m saying all this but to point out that your own personal bias has greatly affected what is otherwise a wonderfully put together review. Now you said as much so normally I wouldn’t point that out but I actually study film and journalism while trying to professionally review movies. I do that and while I’m not sure that’s what you were going for you certainly achieved it. Aside from the minor grievances I mentioned. So just if you were, I’d keep that in mind for the future. I hope you don’t come out of this ask thinking I disliked your review at all, really it’s stellar work and I respect it a lot. But it seems we really disagree on this film huh? Personally, I wasn't aiming to write a bias free review because A) that sounds boring as crap. And B) I feel like half the fun of reading or watching a review is getting to see a bit of soul to the commentator. I take a lot of Inspiration from Schaffrillas Productions, The Critical Drinker, Cinemasins, Nerdrotic, and Pastra. And this is largely because I like having actual analysis mixed in with some personality when it comes to a film, especially fictional media. There is an arguable truth when it comes to historical media and film, but fictional stuff is designed to have opinions and differing views that vary from fan to fan. Hence, my review being chalk full of my personal takes.

I have my opinions and I am not shy about them lol. I prefer D-16, you prefer Orion Pax. Some people will die on the hill of Elita superiority, meanwhile I would prefer to throw her off the nearest cliff. Some folks think Sentinel is mid, and I think he's stunning. It's all cool. Honestly, I think one of the good things about TF One is that it gives enough leeway when it comes to our main duo for fans to love one or both of them. There's room to think and develop an opinion. It's so much fun seeing others and their ideas, even if I don't agree.

What made you think Megatron/D-16 the most complex character in tfone? :0 (not hate, I'm genuinely curious and I really loved reading your analysis/insight)

If I recall correctly I said that in the context of complainign about the Spanish dub casting, by which I mean that Megatron requires a comparatively wider range and that the movies hinges a lot on selling his character, given that the crux of the movie is the megop fallout and this fallout was caused by the ways in which Megatron changed.

Orion and D-16 are the characters who have the most going on and are given more depth, this isn't to say that every other character is bad, but the story is about the megops and so they are given more screentime and explored more throughly. But compared to D, Orion fundamentally remains the same through the whole movie, while D ends a completely different person that he was at the start.

There is a simplicity to Orion, he sees a bad thing, he wants to fix a bad thing. His motivation through the whole movie is always to get a better, fairer life for himself and his fellow miners. He routinely sneaks into the archive hoping to find clues about the Matrix in the hopes they can get the energon flowing again and miners can do something else with their lives, he wants to participate in the race to show that not having a cog doesn't make them lesser. Finding the truth doesn't affect his person, if anything it validates him, because he already thought the system was unfair. He's still mainly concerned with getting people a better life and the path to that now seems harder, but it's also clearer than ever.

That is not to say Orion is a one-note character with no depth, or that portraying him is easy (all acting requires skill). He comes more into himself, he is deeply concerned and then hurt by D/Megatron, he has a wide range of emotions. And I already talked about how I think his flaws are very consistent with his virtues, his strong sense of justice makes him stubborn and one-track minded, he bulldozes through D-16's opinions and the fact that what must be done feels so clear to him makes him unable to handle D's feelings. He's young and eager, maybe an experienced Optimus Prime would have handled things better.

In comparison, there's a lot more going with D and his feelings aren't as straighforward. In the beginning he does confess some corcerning belief and he was talking more in terms of "I" and "me" and more concerned with personal gain than Orion, but he was still a nice, kind guy who stayed to help Jazz and cared about his best friend, helped him and put up with him even when Orion can be a missguided jerk. D-16 had genuine belief in the system and Sentinel Prime, was happy to work and go higher within its parameters. So when he finds out everything he thought he knew was a lie, he flips out, his value system is turned over creating a potential for change taht circumstances direceted in a negative direction.

He has all this anger that he doesn't know how to handle and doesn't have an outlet for, so he starts by blaming Orion for leading them to the truth as unreasonable as that may sound because on an emotional level, he is upset by the things he has learned and he learned them because of Orion's actions, he wouldn't have to suffer if he had remained ignorant. He figures that violence feels good and that he can use it so no one is in a position of power over him again, so he can never be made a fool again. He projects his own feelins of not wanting the truth onto everyone else and decides he can only trust himself. And he just keeps on indulgin in his anger and newfoudn thirst for power more and more.

Megatron's internal process of change is communicated not only through dialogue but also through some amazing body language thanks to the animators which should be supported through and equally adept voice delivery. These are sometimes hammy, sometimes subtle but we need to feel them. When Orion wants to stop Megatron from killing Sentinel because they already won and extra-judicial murder sets a bad precedent for their new world and also because he's worried that if Megatron indulges more in violence there won't be going back and when Orion fumbles that because he's Orion, the audience needs to not only fully buy that the guy we met at the beginning has changed enough to let Orion die for the sake of the person he now wants to be, but also to feel it enough that it hurts us as well.

And Brian Tyree Henry does an amazing job of delivering all aspects of Megatron!! He really elevates the TF One experience through his voice acting. Meanwhile Eduardo Capetillo Gaytán just doesn't fit Megatron (even my non-tf friends commented on what a terrible voice match he was), not all his lines are awful but he just doesn't provide any nuance to Megatron's performance, he doesn't sound really different at the ends and also he sounds like he's throwing a tantrum. Which I guess is not entirely wrong given how Megatron acts like he personally is Sentinel's biggest victim, but Capetillo is more on the line of spoiled brat than Megatron, the dreaded leader of the Decepticons. I mean

You have a great many questions anonymous one. I am... uncertain of how much I would like to share, but I will answer to the best of my abilities.

Regarding your first query, I was unaware that Orion and Megatron of Kaon were romantically involved until Orion took control of our frame during his stay on the Nemesis. I did not notice much during the war because of other issues that required my attention, but looking now I can see h█ge █ole█ █n my █e█o█y. I have all of Orion's memory within me, but grea█ █h█n█s a█e m█s█i█g, or rather kept from my view. Not only that, but now that my mind is not clouded by pain or fear, I can see just how... grim Orion's life was until he met Megatron. I was distracted at all times during the war, and thus most of the memories I used were of minor events, small instances and habits. They came in flashes along with barrages of data. Very rarely did I fully experience one of Orion's memories. With that in mind, I was totally unaware that Orion and Megatron were anything but brothers.

I see now how wrong that assumption was, but based upon what memories and flashes I was █llowe█ █o a█ces█, that was the extent of their relationship in my mind. That was part of the reason I never fully understood why Orion fought me so hard. Why would he risk everything for one mere companion? I know that up until I took in Bumblebee, I would have never given my life for one mere mortal. Of course that has changed now, but that was my mentality at the time. Now with that said, I was shocked beyond words to learn of their relationship through experiencing their... intimacy.

There is nothing I can imagine worse than having one's frame touched so intimately by one's worst enemy. I hated every moment on the Nemesis, I hated every touch that I could feel but do nothing to stop. I despised every kiss I gave no consent for. It was a torment, especially when they tried to merge.

Simply put, I was distraught, shocked, and horrified all at once. It was the harshest reality check I have endured so far. Learning of Orion and Megatron proved that all I fought for was not as I imagined it. Their love showed █h█t I w█s not nee█e█, t█a█ █y exi█ten█e w█s merely prolongi█g a w█r t█a█ █hould h█ve en█e█ █illen█i█ █go. At the time I could not process that truth, and so I did not change my course of action when I regained control. How could I when my whole life was built on the lie that Orion and Megatron were mere companions drawn apart by differing ideals? Thus, I endured agony and kept silent, trying not to think much of what I experienced. Even now I am not fond of thinking about it and the unwanted engagements on the Nemesis. I understand my host a little better now, but I still believe he was too harsh when it came to my minor interactions with Ratchet.

As for your last question... I have thought on it often myself. Ratchet is not a mech who would lie without reason. As such I can only assume he never told me of Orion and Megatron because he was of the belief that I knew. To my knowledge, me and my host were seen as one and the same until our separation. Ratchet likely thought that I had seen fit to move on from whatever ties I had to Megatron. He did not know that I was not Orion and that I had no idea how close my host and my foe really were. From there I can only guess it never came up because I never asked. I had no reason to question, not when I was constantly occupied.

In the Peaceful Timeline, I can't help but think about how Optimus killed the crap out of those Eldians that tried to wage another war. Because it's bad enough that they hurt people from the village he lives near, and as angry as he was, he still wouldn't go on a killing spree until given a reason.

I theorize that after dragging that one Eldian to their hideout, he tries to talk them out of their plans. From peace talk to negotiation to warnings to full blown threatens, Optimus would try to use his words first.

But the Eldians are being stubborn, so it's time to kick it up a notch. He might have to start torturing some of them to get the message through that their actions have consequences. He'd make sure of it. Or maybe reveal that, yup, he's the metal being that ended the Eldian reign in the first place. Whatcha gonna do bout it? Fuck around and find out!

There's no way having an angry metal giant looming over you won't make you second guess your life choices. But someone, maybe more than one person, did fuck around. And I bet it had to do with Ymir. Maybe they said something about hunting her down or killing her for the betrayal or using her for their plans, but Optimus snaps and just steps on them or something.

Either way, it wouldn't be easy to make Optimus break his vow. At least, that's my theory on how it happened.

Previous Episode of the Peaceful Timeline

No...No for Optimus in this situation, mercy was out the window.

For those who might have just stumbled upon this post and need a little bit of context, this is the Peaceful Timeline where Optimus gets dropped off during Ymir's time instead of the main AOT timeline. Two years after Maria is born, remnants of the Eldian Empire are trying to rebuild their might, they attack the village that Optimus, Ymir, and Megatron are residing nearby (they live up in the mountains) and Optimus absolutely loses his shit. For more context: Here it is

Now Optimus in the Peaceful Timeline, is not the pristine, regal, picture perfect being we see him as majority of the time. He's a mix of Orion Pax and Feral Orion at this point, with maybe a hint of Prime for social interaction sake with the village. He doesn't know why Primus sent him to this world, but he knows that his duty is to Ymir, this girl with immeasurable power. And he has grown to love and care for her as if she was his own.

And he had sacrificed so much for her to make sure that she's alright and happy. He's had to figure out what foods were safe for her to eat. He had to protect her while they were sleeping in caves. He had to find a place for her to call home after he found out that she was pregnant. He had to care for a human for seven months before Megatron even showed up. And even when Megatron did show up, it was tense because of history.

And Optimus is the one that had to undo her conditioning. He has to tell her that she's not a slave. That he wasn't going to hurt her. That he was going to protect her. It took a while for Ymir to even look him in the eye when they first started living together. He had to show her what real love and compassion looked like. Not what the King did.

And what the King did...oh god that was already a tough conversation in it of itself. When Optimus learned that Ymir was raped by the King and was told that it was some form of reward, it infuriated him. But Ymir needed someone to turn to and rely on. So he had to shove down his feelings. Six months into her pregnancy, Ymir has to bring up the King because she still believes that he loved her. He was the one who accepted her. Who gave her a new name.

Now Optimus and Ymir don't fight very often, but when they do, it's a major blow-up. Optimus explains to her that what the King did was not love. It was cruelty. It was hate. He never loved her at all. He burned her home to the ground. He took her tongue. He tried to kill her! And only saw value in her when she got power! He only saw her as property! Ymir is continuing to deny it. It's not true. It's not true! He welcomed her when no one else did! When everyone else looked at her in fear for this demon inside of her, he didn't! If he didn't love her, then everything she did, everything that she was told, would've been a lie! That she was never loved at all! And that all that existed in this world was cruelty. And Optimus asks her the important, damning question in all of this:

"Did you want to interface with him?" Optimus demanded.

Ymir froze at that question, her hand clutching the notebook, crinkling the pages in her hand.

"Ymir, did you want to have sex with him?" Optimus clarified.

Ymir felt her hands and lips tremble. She...she was told it was a reward. She was told it was for all of her hard work. But...she was so afraid, and she knew that if she talked back she'd be severely punished. She knew. She's been beaten, and whipped, and lost her eye. She had seen other slave women like her get violated by other men and punished for denying them that pleasure. She remembered how terrified she was when she was taken to that bed!

Optimus saw tears streaming down Ymir's face as she held the notebook tighter. "You did not. You did not want to be with him. You did not want to interface with him. But he did not give you a choice in that matter. You could not even voice your concerns to him, and even if you were able to he would have said no because he only saw you as property. If he loved you, he would have cared about your well-being and choice on the matter. But he did not. He never did. Ymir..."

Optimus hated what was about to come out of his mouth next, but it needed to be said. "He raped you. And he...never loved you at all."

Ymir knew, deep down, that this was the truth, but it didn't hurt any less. Because if he didn't love her, then it just confirmed her greatest fear: that she was never loved at all. That she was nothing. And that everything she did...was for nothing. She killed, maimed, destroyed for nothing, and all she can do is scream in despair. She really was a monster.

And Ymir shuts down for a few weeks and is just in a state of depression. She's eating the bare minimum and refusing to communicate with Optimus. She just...wants to disappear. Even so, Optimus doesn't leave her side unless he has to. He feels horrible for that conversation, but he knew that it was a necessity. Ymir finally asks Optimus why he's choosing to stay. She's a monster. A demon. A pathetic and worthless girl who was only seen for her power. She killed people who were slaves like her. She killed innocent people. Why would he remain by her side? And Optimus tells her that he's supposed to be dead. His body was supposed to be destroyed and his soul was supposed to be reborn. But he was sent here by a higher power. He was sent here to meet her, and to free her from her pain and suffering, because at the end of the day, she was a victim of war, suffering, and violence. And she was never granted the proper safety and love that she deserved.

Optimus placed a hand on her cheek. "You did not deserve any of what you've gone through. And I am still here by your side because I heard your soul cry out to me, and I wanted nothing more than to save you. I love you as if you were my own child, and no matter how many years have passed or lifetimes I lead, I will always protect you. I am glad that a higher power brought me to you. I will always love you, and I will protect you in both life and death. You have my word."

And his words reignite her will to live, because there was someone in this world who loved her as she was, and someone in this world who needed her just to exist. That was it. She hugs him close, tears in her eyes, and she speak to him.

"Thank...you...Optimus,"

And Optimus starts to cry, because it's the first time she's actually spoken his name.

So fast forward when Maria is two and the village is attacked. Optimus is the one disarming while Megatron is the one killing. Optimus wants to show mercy, but Megatron wasn't leaving room for argument at the moment. Megatron had the last soldier, and Optimus was almost ready to tell Megatron to spare him, but he opened his mouth:

"Killing me will do nothing," the soldier spit out, "Our spirit remains strong, and the Eldian Empire will rise again!"

Optimus heard nothing but ringing in his audio receptor. He felt his spark race; he felt his anger rise. His energon was boiling. He remembered Ymir's conditioning and what he had to undo. Her fear. Her despair. That conversation! Her tears! Her depression! A kind-hearted girl's suffering was caused was because of them!

And he just snapped.

Megatron tilted his head in confusion. Eldian Empire? He heard that name before. Where did he hear it? And before he could react, he heard Optimus scream in fury before tackling the soldier to the ground. The Prime pinned him by the neck and began choking him out. Megatron watched in shock at the sight of the rage in Optimus' eyes as he grit his teeth. He could've sworn he heard Optimus growling as the soldier struggled to breathe.

"What are you talking about?! What Eldian Empire?!" Optimus screamed at him.

The villagers watched as the soldier tried to pry Optimus' off of him, but it was no use. His grip was stone. Tears came out of the soldier's eyes and they looked ready to bulge out of his head.

"What are you doing?! Stop him!" the herbalist yelled at Megatron. She paused; however, when Megatron merely spared a glance at her, and the old woman could see the fear and warning in his eyes.

"Answer me or I will snap your neck right now!" Optimus roared.

"E-east!" the soldier forced out. "East! M-mercy!"

Optimus slammed him into the ground before grabbing him by his fur coat. "You will take me to the rest of them, and maybe I will let you live. If you do not, I will do unspeakable things to you that you will pray to whatever god you worship that I had just killed you sooner."

"O-okay," the soldier stuttered as he trembled. Optimus then dragged him by his coat along the ground, grabbing a sword in the process and dragging him out of the village. Megatron snapped out of his shock and followed the Prime.

"Prime-!"

"Do not follow me," Optimus warned ominously.

Megatron recognized that look and immediately backed away as Optimus dragged his hostage along the ground. The soldier tried to beg Megatron for his life, but Optimus quickly glared at him, and that quickly got him to shut up. Some of the villagers even tried to go after Optimus, but Megatron quickly blocked the path.

"But-!"

"No," Megatron warned, and they could all see the terror in Megatron's eyes as Optimus walked into the forest, his alt mode sneaking around the village.

And Optimus walks for miles, demanding the soldier to provide guidance whenever he can. He force feeds him the bare minimum and knocks him out cold whenever he needs to deactivate the holoform. In the back of his mind, he's still holding on to the morality of not killing any humans. He gets to the Eldian campsite about for days later in the night time. He demands his hostage to tell them if this is all that remains, and the hostage tearfully relents. He just wants his suffering to be over.

Optimus hides in the shadows and listens in to what they were saying, talking about recapturing the glory days of the Eldian Empire, how King Fritz was a great leader. And Optimus just wanted to scream his head off. And then...they start talking about Ymir. They called her a slave, a monster, a demon, a whore. They started talking about ways to control if they were going to find her. They started talking about how they were going to defile her.

(And you know that scene in Logan where X-23 comes out of the abandoned building Charles and Logan have been hiding in before throwing the head of the fucker that tried to cuff her to the enemy? Well that's exactly what happened here.)

The Eldian Empire hears the hostage scream and Optimus appears and throw the head, causing everyone to immediately grab their weapons. They see how furious Optimus looks and don't know what to say. Optimus gives them one chance: end this farce. Stop this attempt at making the Eldian Empire rise again. And the soldiers...starting laughing. They think it's a joke. One approaches to just kill him, but Optimus breaks his vow. He snaps his neck in an instant before the rest can process what the hell happened. Once they realize what did happen, Optimus chucked the sword and it stabbed another one in the chest. They charge at him and Optimus starts to kill them in a blind rage. However, due to the 100 to 1 ratio, Optimus does end up slipping up and gets stabbed in the chest with a sword. The Eldians think they've won, but they grow terrified as Optimus' holoform begins to glitch out. And Optimus speaks in a distorted voice.

"Those who are willing to take away the freedom of others, should be prepared to lose theirs."

Optimus deactivates the holoform, shows them all his bipedal mode, and some of them recognize him as the titan who destroyed the Eldian Empire, and they are all screaming in terror as Optimus pulls out his blaster and fires. When Optimus snaps out of his rage, he's sees the burning cinder of what remained of the Eldian Empire that tried to grow again. And he feels nothing but shame.

Optimus ends up trudging back to the mountains in bipedal mode, trapped in his own thoughts and letting instincts guide him. And when he gets back, and feels Megatron place a servo on his shoulder, and sees his face full of concern...By the Allspark he was actually happy to see him. And he just collapses in his arms.

"I broke my vow." Optimus clung to his former foe, "I broke my vow. I didn't mean to. But I killed them all. I was so angry. What did I do?"

Megatron grabbed Optimus' face with his claws and forced him to look him in the optic. "You did what you had to do."

"I killed humans. I made a vow to protect them and I-!"

"Those humans tried to kill and capture everyone in that village," Megatron cut him off, "They had already taken the lives of so many people already. You did what you had to do to protect them. To protect Ymir. If you didn't, they would've burned that village to the ground, and Ymir would have been taken away from you again. She would have been a slave again. You kept her freedom intact. You kept your promise to her."

Optimus looked away in uncertainty. He...he still...Optimus heard the door open, and saw Ymir running out the house, looking both relieved and worried. Tears formed in her eyes as she ran up to him, and all of Optimus' worries faded away in that moment. He offered his servo to her and picked her up. He cradled her close to his face, and Ymir did her best to give him a hug with his battle mask on.

"You're alright," Optimus swore to her, "You are safe. Like I promised you."

It still bothers Optimus greatly that he went to such a dark place to protect Ymir and the village. And he's refused to talk about what happened. Ymir doesn't know. The village doesn't know. Megatron has an idea, but he's afraid of where that imagination is taking him. Whenever Optimus is sad, Ymir takes the time to comfort him. She'll hug him or wrap a blanket around him, or just enjoy his quiet company. She hopes that it's enough, and it is. At one point through all of this, Optimus is resting the holoform head in her lap while Megatron is keeping Maria occupied. She sees a peaceful expression on his face, and he whispers a quiet thank you to her.

And it makes Ymir happy that she was able to do something for her protector. She was able to provide something so simple for someone she loved, and for someone who loved her in return.

(I will never, ever, shut up about the Peaceful Timeline. I love writing so much about it. BTW AOP Chapter will drop on July 1st before I fly out to Texas.)

Transformers: One rambles because I have to talk about this with someone (but I mostly talk about D-16)

(as someone who has consumed barely any transformers content besides 20 second clips on TikTok)

Okay for starters, WOW.

This movie was AMAZING, and if you haven’t seen it yet I HIGHLY recommend you do.

The animation is phenomenal, and the voice acting is great. The design of Cybertron can only be described as jaw dropping, and some of the scenes in that movie gave me CHILLS.

If you can, PLEASE go watch the movie in theaters so that we can get a sequel!!

Also, I am NOT that good when it comes to analysis. I am making this purely to share my thoughts about the film and D-16 specifically. Additionally, I’ve only watched the film once, so once I rewatch it again, I’ll probably come back with a more in-depth analysis. This is more of a ramble if anything.

ALSO!! I am NOT a big transformers fan! This is the first Transformers film I’ve seen besides brief clips from TikTok and TV. I am not well informed on the lore at all, so if I sound stupid at some parts, that’s why 😋😋

Fun fact, D-16’s VA, the incredibly talented Brian Tyree Henry, played Jefferson Davis in both Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, and was Lemon from the movie Bullet Train!

But moving on, I love him so much.

I don’t know about any other iterations of Megatron/ D-16 but I prefer this one to the one in the Bay films.

HE’S JUST SO SSNSHSJDJSKS

For starters, when we’re introduced to him, we can already see how strong his relationship with Orion is. He helps him escape those archive guards (and given how smooth it was, it’s safe to assume that this isn’t the first time he’s had to do so), and when Orion pops out the cart, he swipes some dirt off him :)) (how nice!!)

He’s used to protecting Orion. He is used to helping him out when he gets himself in trouble. Because Orion is his friend, he’s got his back, and he knows that he’d do the same for him, and he does!

Whenever they’re reprimanded for their (Orion’s) reckless behavior, he’s always the first to own up, and admit it was his idea.

Got this from Twitter, but as the story progresses, the sticker Optimus gave him at the start gradually begins to fade, which is a sign of their friendship.

And not only that, but the fact that this symbol of their friendship ends up transforming into the symbol for the Decepticons at the end (talk about foreshadowing)— GOD WHY DO YOU HATE ME

Notice how D-16 objects to every idea that Orion comes up with, scared of how it would affect his rank at work and how he’s viewed in society, like when Orion offers to enter into the race. And on the day of the race, as Orion leads him to the sign above the starting zone, he objects then too, obviously skeptical. But despite his protest, he still follows him, and that’s because he trusts him. Despite disliking being dragged into whatever antics Optimus gets up to, he still does it with him because he’s his friend, and he knows that he can trust him; trust Orion.

D-16 doesn’t like breaking the rules, but if it’s for/with Orion, I feel as if he’d do nearly anything. Because they’ve got each other’s back, always.

And ohmigod, that scene in the cave was literally had my mouth gaping. You could’ve heard a pin drop with the way everyone shut up.

Think, you just learned that one of the people who you admired the most has rigged the system against you, that since you were born, you were denied what is essentially your birth right, and the freedom that this prophet promised you was nothing but a lie that was fed to keep you going so he could live the high life while you toiled away endlessly in the mines. All I can think about is how devastating that is.

You dedicate your entire life to one man, and he ends up not only being a liar, but also a traitor. Shit I’d be pissed too.

And when we get to the end and Megatron is about to kill Sentinel Prime, but Orion jumps in front of D-16’s gun to block the blast, sacrificing himself in order to prevent his best friend from filling falling to the dark side— only for it to BACKFIRE at the end—

Im gonna end it all.

And then when his face starts to twist. You can see him going through so many emotions in that moment. Worry, confusion, and panic at first, and then frustration, anger, rage, and then finally, certainty. He makes up his mind here. He becomes Megatron here.

When he let go of Orion, he let go of himself as well. He exchanged his life, the life of Orion Pax and the relationship he had with him for his idealized future. The result? His now former best friend rises from the dead, now rechristened as Optimus Prime, stops his attempt at seizing control, and then banishes him.

And also the genuine SHOCK and DISBELIEF you can see in Megatron’s eyes when Optimus tells him he’s been banished, it just tells us that at this moment, he still saw Optimus Prime as Orion Pax, his best friend, and he can’t believe his best friend would do this to him.

And just think about it. Orion literally risks his life for his best friend, because they’ve always had each other’s back. He trusted him. and his best friend, the man he loved like a brother, ends up breaking this promise, choosing his own path, a path without him, betraying him

AND the fact that the action Orion does that ends up making Megatron is done out of love, a last ditch effort to remind his best friend of who he was, and the fact that the action that transforms D-16 to Megatron is done out of hatred and rage

No End In Sight

Chapter 6

When Arcee got back to the ship she was greeted by Soundwave who grabbed her and took her to his room. Arcee tried to get her arm out of his grip but it was no use. They get to the room and he closes the door and looks at her. "What was that all about, Soundwave?" She asked as she glared at him.

Soundwave showed footage of her with the Autobots helping Breakdown, "You need to be careful... Lord Megatron doesn't like being disobeyed."

"I didn't think it was right to leave him in their hands. I'm not sure why though, I know Decepticons aren't supposed to care but I do."

Soundwave just stood there looking at her and listening to what she was saying, he could tell she still had that good spark of an Autobot even though she was supposed to be a Decepticon now. Arcee looks at him, "I guess you're gonna show Megatron and let him know."

Soundwave just shook his helm to confirm he won't as he looked into her optics, the blue and lavender colors were gone as well as the light that twinkled in her optics. That's the one thing he hated about the chip mind control, that it took out the color and light he loves so much in her optics. He was mesmerized by her optics the moment he first looked into them, he was pulled in and had trouble looking away.

"Why would you help me and keep this from him?" She asked feeling confused.

He just looked at her then walked past her and went over to a table that was set up in his room where he usually sets Laserbeak to rest. He removes Laserbeak from his chest and lays him down on the table so he can recharge, then he looks back at Arcee. "Time to rest... You can take the berth I have work to do," he said before he headed out of the room.

Arcee watched him as he left, she felt even more confused than before. Why would he keep her secret and keep her safe? She just shrugged it off as she went to lay down on the berth. I better not wake up to find him sleeping in the berth right next to me again. She thinks to herself as she doses off into recharge.

At Autobot base, the 'Bots were reeling from their run-in with Arcee, they couldn't believe she didn't remember them. "Arcee's still in there, I know it," Bulkhead spoke up.

"I do believe she is, we need to find a way to get her from them so we can remove the chip and reverse what Megatron did," Ratchet added.

"She really couldn't remember any of you?" Jack asked.

"Nope, don't even remember ever being an Autobot," Ratchet replied.

"So she won't remember me," Jack says with a sad look. Miko walks over to him and gives him a hug which surprises him, and Raf puts a hand on his arm.

"We'll get her to remember, I promise," Optimus tells him. Jack just gives him a weak smile. "It's time for the kids to go home. Jack, I'll take you home," Optimus says as he looks at the boy.

"OK," Jack says as he gets his stuff together. Optimus transformed and let Jack get in, once he was in, Optimus drove off.

Soundwave was doing his work when Megatron walked up to him, "How's Arcee? Is she settling in alright?"

"Yes... She's in my room recharging right now."

"Good. She is very useful, I don't want anyone or anything messing with my plans."

Soundwave just acknowledged he heard him and went on with his work.

"I'm gonna tell you a secret, Soundwave, I want it to stay between you and me."

Soundwave turned to look at him to let him know he was listening.

"I believe I'm starting to get feelings for Arcee."

Soundwave stood there and just listened to his lord and master talk about his feelings for the femme he had feelings for. However, he did have his suspicions that Megatron was starting to feel for her.

"She's tough, a good fighter, and she's very beautiful."

"What about Optimus?" Soundwave asked as he remembered how Megatron revealed his feelings for Optimus to him. Megatron started getting feelings for Optimus when they started becoming friends as Orion and Megatronus and exceeded into their new names and forms as Optimus and Megatron. It made it even harder to go to war against him as he never thought he would go to war with the mech he loved, but they are at war together and he no longer can see them getting together.

"I can't see us getting together anymore with the whole war going on. All this fighting pretty much killed it."

"Understandable," Soundwave said as he felt a twinge in his spark. All he could do was hope Megatron could get his feelings for Optimus back and let him have Arcee if he could get her to love him back.

"This stays between us two," Megatron told him firmly. Soundwave just nodded in confirmation. Megatron then walked out and Soundwave got back to his work.

Optimus stops in front of Jack's house and lets him out then waits for him to get inside. Jack goes into the garage and sees a package sitting on the table, he opens it up and finds out what it is. He runs out to Optimus who is getting ready to leave and he stops him, "Optimus! My mom's in trouble!"

"Get in!" Optimus says as he opens his door, Jack gets in and they drive off to the location presented to them through the device Jack found. Optimus tried calling base but ended up getting a helmache, "Something's preventing me from calling out," he says as he drives on.

Skyfire was never any good at comprehending such conflicting feelings. On one hand he felt bad for leaving Starscream like that, but at the same time if the Starscream he once knew is truly gone then so be it.

What does it matter? There's nothing he can do if Starscream doesn't want to change, so why does it hurt so bad? Skyfire didn't know, but he knew if there was one mech that could help him right now, it's Optimus.

Optimus may not know the specifics of their complicated friendship, but surely he would understand what it's like to have a friend you can't help.

'Optimus?' Skyfire said through the comm link, 'Skyfire what is it? Is it Starscream? Do you need assistance?' 'No. I was wondering if you and I could talk.' Skyfire almost felt embarrassed asking for Optimus' time, but if there's one thing he knows about the mech it's that when it comes to his teammates, he will always try to be available for them.

Skyfire nearly sprinted down to Optimus' quarters and once there he raised a servo and gently knocked on the door, "Come in Sky." He careful opened the door to his leaders quarters and saw Optimus sitting at a makeshift table with a chair right across from him inviting Skyfire to join him.

Skyfire nervously sat in the chair across from Optimus, "I suspect your conversation with Starscream didn't go as you planned." "You can say that..." He looked down at his servos and sensing his nervousness Optimus reached out offering to let Skyfire hold his servo during their discussion. Skyfire took his offer and held onto to Optimus as he thought of what to say.

"It still amazes me how much he's changed. I feel like I should be used to it by now, but when I look at him I don't see the monster he's become all I see is the mech I once considered a friend, no matter how many times his words and actions point to the contrary... When we talked he had said that the friend I knew died the moment I crashed on Earth and I could tell he meant that. The friend I once knew is dead and I am left to grieve for someone who's still alive."

Skyfire tried to stop the tears that were threatening to form in his optics when he finished his sentence, "When we were all fighting and fearing for our lives I was able to push those feelings to the side and focus on that instead, but now that there is peace, there's nothing to take my mind off of how much I grieve for Starscream. How much I miss listening to him rant about nonsense on those late nights in academy..."

Skyfire took a deep vent as he continued, "I want nothing more than to go back in time and prevent my crash. I shouldn't have been so stupid suggesting that we take a closer look because no amount of scientific discovery could be more important than Starscream..." Coolant flowed freely down Skyfire's face by this point.

"I understand your pain. I have had many friends come and go it is never easy. I've had friends die in battle and I've had friends who ended up changing for the worst." Optimus said empathetically, it honestly irritated Skyfire as much as he felt bad for feeling that way when Optimus only wanted to help.

"It's more than losing a friend Optimus... I loved him, I wanted him to be my conjux, but I didn't admit that to him back then and I certainly can't now. He hates me he said it himself."

Optimus sighed and squeezed Skyfire's servo slightly, "I have never told anyone this, but at one point when I was still Orion Pax I had loved a mech who ended up betraying me and the cause he originally stood for."

"Megatron." Skyfire said a little surprised by his leaders honesty, Optimus nodded, "I may not understand the specifics of what you are feeling, but I have been through something similar, and although Megatron and I have mended our broken relationship I unfortunately can't say it will be the same for you, but I genuinely hope the best for you and Starscream."

Optimus gave Skyfire a gentle smile and Skyfire couldn't help, but smile back as he wiped away his tears, "Thank you..." "Anytime Sky. It's getting late perhaps you should get some recharge." "That sounds like a good idea. Goodnight Optimus." "Goodnight Skyfire."

When Skyfire stepped out of the room he went on an old comm link he used to share with Starscream when they were in academy, 'Goodnight Star, may Primus bless you with the most pleasant of dreams. I love you.' He knew Starscream would never receive his comm message, but it made Skyfire feel good.

I personally think that TFP made people care MORE about the abuse Starscream went through. I "blame" it for people not shipping Megatron and Starscream as much or going after megastar shippers because of the abuse. I think some shows make it funny, but Prime def didn't because people can't ship megatron and starscream without people mentioning the abuse. or at least fans don't make fun of it

I agree to an extent, my personal opinion tho is that prime did make it funny. Because it's used in mostly humorous undertones in tfp or at the very least, written in ways where it's made to seem that starscream 'deserves' it? like it is never actually tied to his trauma or how he acts, and the other characters just don't give him grace/nuance. i do agree tho that i think tfp has changed how some fans view starscreams' abuse, and even if it isn't a ton, i think it's enough to actually start conversation. because as many people as i've seen take it seriously, i've also seen people mock him for it, because i personally do not think tfp does a great job at handling his abuse. especially with how he interacts with other characters and how he is never seen as a victim. the way tfp has him, ESPECIALLY in predcaons rising he imo is seen as worse than megatron and the other cons.

now, moving on to megastar. i'm gonna state this - i get why people don't like megatstar and im not gonna fault anyone for not liking it. like, i ship it (it is my transformers otp- and i will not stop shipping it!) but i do realize why people don't like it. but i guess for me, i ship it in a way that addresses a lot of the abuse and makes it comfortable for me to ship it because clearly, on this blog, it's obvious i hate the abuse starscream goes through. that said yeah i dont mind if people, especially starscream fans don't ship it. and i don't really engage with a lot of megastar content because personally, i don't like how there is a lot of abuse in the ship. this also isn't me saying my view is better or right compared to others, i just don't like engaging with the vast majority of megastar content because a lot of it is heavily abusive.

my issue is when 1.) those people are very hateful to the shippers nad harass them and 2.) don't like megatstar on the basis of it being abusive and then go and ship other equally abusive ships.

i like megaop, but when i see people turn their nose to megatstar but ship megaop, that's strange to me, because how megaop is presented it is also toxic and abusive in many canons - on both ends. TFP is a very great example of it- if the orion pax episode was not enough, the fact that megatstar in tfp, but in multiple contuinities will purposely hurt people optimus loves just because he knows impacts him, are abusers tactics. abusers will hurt people they know their partners love. never mind the fact that there is physical abuse on both ends, even if they are fighting.

and there is still, again, depending on the contiuinity, a power imbalance. megatron was a slave in some versions to start off with, and confided a lot in optimus about wanting liberation and freedom. optimus listened and learned under him and then betrayed him at the very end, becoming a prime and taking the position and liberty that megatron needed. that immediately put optimus at a place of privilege and power over megatron, and put him in the same level/caste of people who enslaved him. and more than often optimus never actually realizes this. it may not seem like abuse to a lot of others but the dynamics of slavery/privileged person to me, are kind of uncomfortable. and never mind the fact that they both try to kill each other, they both beat each other, they both hurt those close to one another. they do terrible things to each other. maybe the idea is that 'they can fight back against each other fairly, so it's not abuse' or their friends, to lovers, to enemies dynamic is too strong for people to call it abusive. but i mean yeah that's my issue.

if you're not gonna ship megastar because of the abuse, that's fine. but maybe leave megastar shippers alone i guess, stay out of the tags, and if you ship other abusive ships but preach about how problematic megastar is im looking at you sideways!

Starscream on the other hand has a lot of character to work on and Magnus could help him along with that, and he can teach Magnus self preser- fucking-vation because Mr. "gets fucking chomped by a predacon for another bitchass Autobot" needs it. Zeta Prime (Optimus’ predecessor and mother) - Motherhood / Mercy / Compassion - Purple - Mentor was Vector Prime (father) - Awoke organically - Shield of Light - One of the best diplomats in history and can use the Matrix at will ”Autobots, roll out.” - Lead during a time of peace so she was not a fighter and was solely a politician. She adopted the teenage Megatron and even named him knowing he was a Decepticon which was considered as controversial at the time yet also commendable. She loved both Optimus (Orion Pax at the time) and Megatron equally and considered them both as her true sons and they loved her dearly in return. Her death was actually unintentional as the Con who advised Megatron to attack the Iacon lied about who would be there at the time.

Optimus (Former) Prime - Guardianship / Fatherhood / Forgiveness - Blue - Mentor was Zeta Prime (mother) and Alpha Trion (father-in-law) - Awoke as a Prime after waking from consciousness from the Iacon attack - Axe of Light - Can use the Matrix at will ”Autobots, roll out.” / “Freedom is the right of all sentient beings.” - Mentor to Rodimus Prime (son) - Vice to conquer is his grudge against Decepticons which also causes him to be xenophobic towards any non-Autobot Transformer. - Though people see Optimus as perfect in every way, upon getting to know him, one soon realizes that he is not without some very bad flaws. He is indeed a hero and means well, but he is also very traumatized because the last thing he saw as Orion Pax was his mother Zeta Prime die and being forced to become a Prime when he was only 16 didn’t help. Optimus is good, kind and means well, but he has yet to address his trauma and due to this, he is very xenophobic towards any Transformer who isn’t an Autobot and holds a particular grudge against Decepticons. This has caused him to be unkind and mean to them even if only subtly such as never telling Dr. Cyclonus that his son Breakdown was dead this whole time. Or disowning Megatron as his brother while refusing to accept that he was tricked even though everyone backs up that this is the truth. Optimus believes that by making it law for everyone to be an Autobot and keep the Autobot way as is, he is preventing another tragedy, but this is a naiive mentality. This has caused him to have a strain with his only son Rodimus since he awoke as the new Prime because Rodimus wants to change things and for Transformer society to be egalitarian which means bots can be whatever they identify as. This makes Optimus both angry and worried. Despite saying “freedom is the right of all sentient beings”, in practice, his vision of freedom comes with restrictions. With time, he begins to see that the grudge he holds in his spark is really towards himself for not being to save his parents that day and turned his blame towards the Decepticons. He finally forgives himself and lets go of his hate.

Ultra Magnus (Future) Trion - Vice to conquer is rigidness. He is constantly working and never finds time to play or socialize. “I can’t deal with this now.” - Ultra Magnus is the first cousin of Optimus and is the future Trion though he has yet to be ordained by Primus. He is intelligent, professional and cool headed, but he has issues when it comes to his need to constantly work and follow his schedules fanatically. Hence his catchphrase, he considers tasks such as teaching yoga, playing with orphans, watching a cube game or deviate from his schedule beneath him and a waste of his time. With time, Wheelie teaches him that play is its own learning opportunity as it is how friendships can be formed and how we learn to care about the people we are responsible for. With time, Magnus realizes how constantly working and being inflexible has isolated him and made him disconnected from society. He also becomes aware that taking time to bring joy to others who really need it is a precious service. He slowly, but surely begins to ease up.

Senator Bumblebee - Vice to conquer is envy as he feels robbed of his glory and the title of Prime which he thinks he earned through his hardships. “You have no business being a Prime! You didn’t earn it! You didn’t go through hell and back again! You’re not even a real Autobot!” (to Wedge after his awakening) - For a while, everyone thought Bumblebee was one of the other four as in Rodimus’ vision, one of the others was gold. It turns out that being a Prime was not in the cards for him. He had envious feelings towards people from before as he always felt overshadowed by someone. It became apparent when he returned to Earth and realized that Raf had developed a bond with Ratchet as he was studying cyber-bio-engineering with his help. He no longer had time to play with his old friend the way he used to so he became cold towards both while ignoring Raf’s attempts to reconnect in other ways. Bee then became envious towards Rodimus for stealing his celebrity spotlight both among humans and Autobots. Bee also developed a rather childish rivalry with him by always trying to make him look bad in front of Optimus in a way that made his peers begin to compare him to Starscream. He then began to distance himself from Jazz who in his mind became a Prime before he did instead of being happy for him. Bee’s limit was reached when final “golden Prime” turned out to be his student Wedge not him and he cruelly lashed out at him and quit teaching at the academy then and there. It was only when he noticed Hotshot also became jealous of Wedge for his newfound authority and winning the spark of his long time crush Whirl did Bumblebee see what his envy made him look like and what it made him do. He apologized to everyone and graciously made peace with Primehood not being in the cards for him and it was upon this moment that Bee that nobody’s feelings for him changed and he is still very important just because the presence of a new star came along. He returned to the academy and continued training Wedge with pleasure.

Captain Skyfire - Vice to conquer is his narrow minded view of factions including his own. He doesn’t come from a place of hate, but rather hard headedness and not having the humility to see that the errors in the old ways. “You’re either an Autobot or you’re not.” - Skyfire is proud to be an Autobot, but also to a fault. He doesn’t realize that everyone takes their identity to heart and that identity is a complex thing. It is not one size fits all if you’re an Autobot and some people are fine with not being Autobots. He gets thrown for the ultimate loop when his student is Minerva Prime who is an Autobot who happens to have a GoBot stepmother (Pathfinder) and follows the GoBot religion all the way down to the civilian attire and idols on her appearance, breaks several traditions such as refusing to cut and hide her hair, and flaunts every bit of it. On top of all that, she is a female with a doll type frame who took up a career in the air force which is dominated by males with acrobat frame types. Even after she became a Prime, he did not show the respect he should have to her or her other “misfit” peers by often taking jabs at her and subtly flaunting that he thought himself as more Autobot than her and even goes as far as jeeringly nicknaming her “Dolly”. Skyfire was surprised how she refused to laugh it off and even called him bigoted for his lack of respect and ignorant mindset. While some bots tried to stand up for Sky saying that he’s just old fashioned, Minerva retorted that if he can keep up to date with aerodynamics and the ways of the air force, he has no excuse on how to keep up with how to act. When she rejects Skyfire as a teacher, many other bots who had enough of him follow suit and it is then that Skyfire starts rethinking about the way he acted. He becomes absolutely convinced that his way of thinking is outdated and wrong when during a rescue mission, it is the Decepticon seeker force who save him alongside Minerva and they graciously accept her authority over them and that there is no such thing as a “right” way to be an Autobot.

Chief Bluestreak - Vice to conquer is his black and white view of the law. He doesn’t stop to think that the “why” does matter and if it happens very often for that “why”, then perhaps the system is not as just as we think it is. “I am here to serve and protect. Not make friends over energon and doughnuts.” - He is the chief of police force on Cybertron and acted as mentor to Smokescreen, Prowl, Chase, Strongarm and several other officers of the law. Chase even named his daughter “Bluebird” as a nod to him. Though Jazz was his “class clown”. While everyone did as they were told, Jazz did as he felt almost to the point of rebellion. He did respect and admire his chief and mentor. He just didn’t and still doesn’t agree with everything he says especially when it comes to his black and white view of the law. Jazz believes law and order, but also compassion and listening. He gets that not everyone who commits crime does so out of evil as he grew up in the slums and just happened to get a lucky break while others became desperate. Bluestreak has trouble accepting this and because of this, he can lose sight of the big picture and fixing the root of the problem. He also has trouble wrapping his head around the fact that sometimes, good people make bad decisions. Bluestreak’s optics are only opened when he is confronted with a good person who made a terrible mistake... HIMSELF. Bluesteak may have been a stellar cop, but as a father to his son Barricade, he never really took the time to understand him or respect his views which lead the boy to becoming a problem child. When Barricade came out that despite being born and raised an Autobot, he truly identified as a Decepticon and converted, Bluestreak disowned him and didn’t speak to him for years. It was only during his time he mentored Jazz that he discovered that Barricade’s did not become a thug. In fact, breaking tradition and becoming a Decepticon freed him and made him a better person. He went completely straight, became a high ranking cop in the Decepticon police force and is even happily married with two sons. Upon reconnecting with his long lost son and seeing that sometimes, it is all for the best to be wrong and be compassionate, he drops the black and white attitude and retires handing the role of Chief of the Autobot Police to Prowl. Rumour has it that he makes up for his overly law abiding ways by letting his grandsons get away with everything and spoiling them rotten.

Not that there’s much point in asking, he’s half conscious and groaning from battle. Laying back as if he were simply enjoying the sunny day. Well, if it weren’t for the stasis cuffs binding his arms.

You kneel down next to Optimus, chin resting on your palms, curious tilt to your helm. You would be the picture of innocence if it wasn’t for your faction’s badge shining with pride. You trace a finger around Optimus’ own scuffed up Autobot brand, taking great pleasure in the marks you’ve left on his armor. So many times you’ve faced him, losing over and over. You just couldn’t ever give up. Not when you would see that pitying look on his face when he would choose to spare you instead of finish the fight. You hate that tender look.

How dare he act as if he’s endeared to you. Like he wants to save you.

You’re so lost in thought that you hardly notice Optimus is back to attention, not until he’s struggling with the stasis cuffs.

“You’ve still got so much energy, huh?” You reach for his battle mask, yanking it off with more force than needed, playfully holding it up to your own face. “Do I sound different in this?”

“Let me go! The Autobots will be here any minute and you’ll be out numbered,” His glare is fierce, self-assured. You would laugh at him for being so confident in others, but instead you find it... Sad.

“We should wait then! I want to bring all your friends to see Megatron,” You toss aside the mask, leaning your elbows across Optimus’ much larger chest. It’s impossible to miss the way his engine stutters at your touch. Really pitiful. His optics watch you with an intensity unbecoming of an enemy, bouncing around your face as if he’s scanning your features. Memorizing you.

“We can play while we wait,” You offer and Optimus instantly tenses. You’re not exactly known for playing games without consequences, “It’s been so long since we’ve had time alone, Orion. Do you miss how we used to play?”

You aren’t loving, despite how Optimus warms under your touch, your voice cheery but cold. Servos even colder as they slide down his chest plates. You move to straddle him, not missing how he gasps and shivers. It has been so long since you have been this close, you had forgotten how large and broad he is, “I used to have you worshipping my pedes and spike with that useless glossa, but then you turned into a meanie!”

Optimus shifts under you, thighs gathered close around his interface panel, but you ignore him and his neediness. He was always much too sensitive.

Your voice is no longer faux cheery and bright, slipping down into a more natural, more frigid tone, despite your youthful vernacular. His optics avert your own. The grin that splits your face is cruel, distant, but Optimus leans into your touch all the same.

“I think for now, though, I’ll have you worship my valve. I can’t wait to see your friends’ faces when they witness the true Optimus.”

“You know I love you, right?”, Optimus muttered, reaching to grab the hand of his partner. There was a bit of cold silence as they stood atop the mountain together, gazing at the bright city far below them. “I have. For the last...few thousand years”, Megatron responded, he hadn’t been making eye-contact this entire time, just staring ahead, almost avoiding the small prime’s gaze...like he was embarrassed. “Right...it’s just...after you became a decepticon and….after I beat you up...on the ship….and here on earth….”, Optimus sighed, he moved Megatron’s arm around himself, and the other bot complied, making sure his servo was placed firmly on Optimus’ shoulder. There was more silence, just the wind made a little bit of noise, the sound of something akin to what humans call breathing, but it was rather the inner workings of Megatron, he was nervous, and he was getting a little loud, a grumbling growl of...fear...rather than anger.

“You had every right to be upset back then. You had every right to fight back...I was hurting you. Like the fraggin’ fool I am, I let my goals and my priority override what we had together. I abandoned you. And I’ve hurt you…”, Megatron grumbled, moving his arm, moving a little further away from Optimus, “In fact, why on this horrid planet would you want to pursue me still? Yes, you suck, you deserve punishment and probably deserve to be locked up too, but I still love you anyways….you dork”, Optimus gave him a smile, butting his head against Megatron in a playful sort of way, chuckling a little bit. For the first time in a long while, Optimus saw an actual smile from the menacing mech, a small one, but a smile that radiated the same love that Megatron once had...back when he was an autobot. “Wow, your perception hasn’t died down since we were younger. You still have a sharp eye, Orion”, Megatron chuckled, he sat down, and motioned for Optimus to come over, both of them laughed just a little bit, quietly, as the bigger bot wrapped his arms around Optimus, snuggling him close, touching heads for just a moment, before both turning to gaze at the stars. It was easier to hear Megatron’s engines huffing now that they were so much closer, something about the steady rhythm of the other mech calmed Optimus down. He pressed one side of his face against Megatron’s chest, his little horn-like antennas twitching a little bit, this was the first time in what seemed like forever, where they could finally be together in peace. Without worrying about what others would think. Obviously, they couldn’t stay out here for too long. Optimus’ team would notice he’s missing, and Megatron has important things to do...schemes to plan...but it’s easy to ignore all that when they could just focus on each other. I don’t know if you have the experience to build a space bridge”, Optimus smirked, he hadn’t moved from his position, it was far too comfy to move. “Well, maybe you can help. You were a space bridge technician, correct? Besides, I could use a good second-in-command. Starscream didn’t work out for me”, Megatron smirked right back, he moved the both of them so that they were optic-to-optic, touching heads ever so gently. “You know my team and the Elite Guard would come knocking on the door in a second….actually...scratch that, the Elite Guard couldn’t care less”, Optimus huffed, he did like the idea of spending more time with Megatron, working together like the old days...but he didn’t like the idea of abandoning his family or being a bad guy either. “They’re even more foolish than I am for abandoning your talent. They have no idea how powerful you are. You didn’t earn that ‘prime’ in your name for nothing”, Megatron growled, baring his teeth again, he seemed pretty upset with the thought of the Elite Guard leaving Optimus behind like they did, “The next time they’re on this planet, contact me. I’d gladly rip them to pieces for what they did”, he seemed to be full of a lot of anger, while he didn’t show it much as he was holding Optimus, he clearly wanted to hit something. “I think I’ll be fine. Besides, don’t need to give the autobots one more reason to hate you. You’ve got enough already”, Optimus chuckled, he thought for a moment, and decided to try and provide some kind of comfort to Megatron, he didn’t like seeing Megatron upset, so he closed his optics, and he let his engines rumble as loud as he could, without growling or making them roar. He tapped on Megatron’s chest a little, rubbing his head up to him. Megatron

froze, his expression softened completely, he moved to kiss the top of Optimus’ head, and he rubbed his head against Optimus’, like the little bot had done to him. As they cuddled, Optimus’ purring rumbling through the air, a much louder and more joyful purr erupted out of nowhere...coming from Megatron. The kind of purr that you have to push yourself to create, a clear sign of joy and comfort. “Woah..you’ve got a real good purr Megs….I haven’t heard you roar like that….not even when we still worked together, where did you get that thunder from?”, Optimus laughed and twitched his little antennas, he tried to push his own purr to go a little louder, as loud as he could go. But nothing the prime could manage dared to even compare to the majestic roar of Megatron’s purr, Optimus was almost completely drowned out by it, the pair were only able to hear each other because their faces were so close. It was such a warming feeling to know Megatron was that happy, that he was happy enough to purr so loud that they would totally get caught if they were close to either of their bases, it lulled Optimus into a bit of a tranced state, Megatron’s purr did more than just calm Optimus down, it seemed to almost hypnotise him in a way. Not in the malicious greedy kind of way, not in the ‘I'm going to force you to do bad things’ kind of way…..more like, in the comforting sort of way. A trance that made Optimus relax against the bigger bot, not controlling him at all, just trying to provide a support system for the prime, he was feeling rather nervous, but the loud and rhythmic purrs immediately caused him to let go of any fear. He had forgotten how lovely it was to hear Megatron purr, especially now that it was louder, he really didn’t mind being up here anymore. There was no telling how long they could stay out here, how long before Optimus’ fellow autobots start to worry, how long before Megatron’s crazy followers start to panic? There was no way of knowing, but neither cared at all, Megatron knew he could protect Optimus with every piece of himself, and Optimus was too focused on his lover to even consider the possibility of getting caught. Megatron shifted how he held Optimus, letting the smaller bot melt into his arms, kissing him on his forehead again, keeping him close, letting him relax….sitting in a protective state, so if trouble did come, at least one of them would be ready. Before he knew it, it seemed Optimus had slipped into recharge, though he still purred quietly, which was hard to hear over the big bot’s own purring. He smiled, sighed, and looked out over the city once more. “You never change, do you Orion? Even after all this time, you still hold your annoyingly sweet attitude….and your soft little purrs…..”, he paused, and looked back down to the bot he was holding, “I love you, more than anybot ever will”.
