A Dream of Blue

“He used to love these, do you have them in your universe? Does your Optimus care to remember how you adore these flowers?” In which D-16 meets a familiar face in his dreams. For no matter how changed, he would always recognize his Orion Pax. And an Optimus Prime from another universe reminisces on the "conjunx" he lost.

Just a small little fic of SG IDW OP meeting SG TF1 D-16 as a little apology for the inconvenience skskksks.

Also no Ao3 link because I'm waiting for my invite, however I will be uploading this once I have made the account. The lesson to be learned here is, don't have your OCD center on resetting your social media accounts when you get upset.

“You are similar to him in many ways.”

The voice echoed through the empty cavern, the deep tone sending shivers down D-16’s white frame as his blue optics adjusted to the heavy darkness. His HUD began to pop up with red warning signals, though none of them indicated what he needed to prepare for, merely flashing the word DANGER in bold red capitals. He turned his helm slightly, trying to find the source of the voice. He didn’t know why he was alone in the mines this late during the lunar cycle, having woken up on the dirty cave floor.

“Ah, pardon my manners. I thought it would be appropriate to have our first meeting in a place you recognized, but you have always hated the mines, haven’t you?”

As though to confirm the voice’s claim, the shadows began to fade away as if the entire mine system itself was melting before his very optics. Dee stumbled, his spark whirring wildly in his chassis as reality began to shift and transform around him. He felt himself land against a soft surface, and looking down, he realized the rough stone floor had turned into a large field of blue energon flowers.

“He used to love these, do you have them in your universe? Does your Optimus care to remember how you adore these flowers?”

Dee carefully glanced around, surprised to find that instead of the dreary walls of the mines, he was now staring at a blue sky. He had only ever glimpsed it through the small cracks that led up to the surface from Iacon. Yet even though this sky shared the same soft hue as the one he had seen before, he had a terrible feeling that this was not Cybertron - or, he was a long way from home.

“You have never seen the sky before, have you?”

The voice was clearer in his audials now, and he screamed as he turned his helm to find another bot standing over him. He scrambled away, blue petals upturned in the wind as he ended up crushing a few flowers in his haste to get away. Dee only stopped once he realized how… painfully familiar the strange bot’s paint colors were. He felt his intake open, his voice box crackling with static as he looked up to see the familiar face of his Amica… yet somehow this mech was not Orion.

“My Megatron has never been this small… and your lack of wings...” The strange mech who looked like his Orion knelt down beside him, and to Dee’s horror, he felt servos wrap tightly around the bottom of his frame, pressing him deeper into the ground of flowers. Dark red optics looked over him, narrowing slightly with each dent and scratch he found on Dee’s frame.

“Hey, wait—” His voice cut off into strangled static as the other mech used his free servo to lightly trace the rim of his coghole. A sense of uneasiness began to race through his spark.

“Interesting… You are clearly a miner like he was, I have scoured through your processor enough to know this, yet your transformation cog is missing. What a fascinating universe… I might have to look into this one a bit more.” The digits that poked and prodded at the coghole were gentle, though mostly cold as if the larger mech saw him more as a strange cybercreature than a bot like himself. “Tell me, is your Optimus Prime the same as you?” “I-I…” Dee stuttered out, ashamed when disappointment appeared in the other mech’s optics. “I’ve never heard that designation before.”

“Orion Pax?” The larger mech rolled his optics, the designation sounding like a curse on his glossa. Pressed as he was to the ground, Dee couldn’t help the protective anger that surged over him. That was a mistake, since the other mech quickly recognized the shift in his glare. “I see. He hasn’t received the Matrix yet.”

“What? He hasn’t what?” At that, Dee felt a cold chill run down his spine. Pax had always been interested in the Primes and Primus… he’s heard his Amica mention the Matrix many times in the past. “Matrix… like the Matrix of Leadership?”

At his question, the face drew away and he let out a small shriek as he was suddenly turned around. His servos grasped at the flowers, ripping out their petals as the other mech easily laid him on his front. There were digits tracing his back, and he had to bite his glossa as pain flashed in his processor. His back had always been a sensitive spot on his frame.

“This must hurt. You may not be my Megatron, but I cannot stand to watch a version of him in so much pain…” The other mech’s voice was strangely sad.

As quickly as he had been turned, the other mech quickly rose to his pedes, pulling Dee along with him. He took a few pedesteps away, still unsure of what he wanted. At that, the other merely chuckled.

“Skittish. That was a trait he never had.” His voice grew nostalgic. “He fought me until the bitter end, and only when I lost him did I…”

His voice trailed off as he reached an open servo towards Dee. Despite his better judgment, he took it and was surprised when the other pressed a tender kiss to the back of his servo.

“No, you are too different from the mech I love. You will not make a good replacement, even if you remind me of him in some ways.” At those words, he felt the world shift around him and the energon in his tanks roiled as a heavy haze began to overtake his processor. He felt as though the ground was caving beneath him, pulling him in until he couldn’t vent. All the while, those red optics did not tear away from his gaze. 

“Do not worry, I’ll ensure your Optimus knows to spoil you… and to never let you go.”

“Dee.”

Slowly, his blue optics turned online as his Amica’s familiar voice pierced through his recharge. He shook his helm, blearily glancing down as Pax stood in front of his berth, a small frown on his face.

“Pax? It’s deep into the lunar cycle. Did you just get back from the archives?” He rubbed a servo across his face, and in that brief moment where his optics weren’t on his Amica, he felt Pax suddenly press close to him. He felt his voice box stutter, his arms automatically wrapping around Pax who had joined him in his berth. “Wha— Pax?!”

“Let me stay.” Pax nuzzled closer to him, and Dee let him. 

He could never say no to Pax. 

As he tried to return to recharge, he heard Pax murmur softly against his neck cables.

“I love you so much. I promise, I won’t ever let you go.”

Author's Notes:

(1) Sorry if SG IDW OP is a freak, he just misses his wife and wishes he didn't kill Megatron (except no his Megatron isn't dead, he's just in the Red Rust Sea on self-exile but OP doesn't know that). So right now, SG IDW OP is just going around other universes (don't ask me how, he has scientists they probably found a way how to lmao) trying to look for a replacement.

(2) SG IDW OP doesn't actually have any feelings towards SG TF1 D-16. Like he manhandles him around in the fic but considers him as not really a good replacement. However, Dee does remind him a little bit of his Megatron, but a bit more skittish. Since he misses his own Megatron, he just decides to do SG TF1 OPMeg a favor by making sure they don't meet the same fate as him.

(3) While SG IDW OP and SG TF1 D-16 are having a good time (not really) talking, poor SG TF1 OP is having a nightmare of how SG IDW OP lost his Megatron (even though it was his fault and he literally attempted to kill Megatron lmao). That's why Pax is acting weird at the end of this fic because he got shown a universe where he did lose D-16/Megatron and it's essentially a warning to keep him closer.

Oh no, I’m realizing I’m starting to get a bit tired of seeing TF One megop/dpax stuff

It’s not that it’s bad or anything, but I’m coming to the realization that they tend to be the same few genres of images and comics. I’m trying to figure out how specifically to word what I mean, but it’s not coming to mind at the moment. But they sort of evoke the same ideas and feelings I think

Technically you could say this is true of other varieties of megop as well, but usually when we see those, they’ve already been fighting for a long period of time, so you’ve got their current dynamic and long time of being apart to work with, as well as their origins. With TF One, the breakup just started, so the timeline and dynamic that comes with it is significantly more condensed and limited. If that makes sense

I’m also not criticizing people who make their dpax/megop stuff like this, honestly I probably would too if I drew them more. It’s kind of just a product of the movie being an origin story and the dynamics only now shifting between the two. There’s a very clear way to do content about them in this movie

It’s just that I’ve noticed this, and now it makes me a bit more disinterested in this version of megop, at least for now. Makes me want to seek out other variations a bit more

What are your thoughts on transformers prime and transformers one?

TL:DR I liked both! TFP was my first Transformers show that I watched all the way through and TF1 was a lot of fun! Opinions on Starscream under the break pfpfpfpfpfpf

Prime was literally my first Transformers experience (Okay that's not true, I did see the first Bay movie when it came out but lets not talk about that). It's really good! My favorite character was Ratchet, I loved that he's just a tired, grumpy, racist old man and he's a doctor. Knock Out was the best thing to come out of TFP and he really should be in more stuff. Really would have loved a fourth season but it wouldn't have been the same without the children around. I liked what we got!

Prime has an excellent Starscream, Steve Blume does an amazing performance with both his deep conniving gravel and his high pitched terrified sputtering. So much character in his animation too, especially in later seasons, and an incredibly compelling character arc. Prime Starscream is not a good person, but I would burn the world for him, and I like the small moments in the show that hint at something in his character that could be turned to good, but circumstance always works against him in that regard. He's just so pathetic, but also competent and dangerous, all the best qualities of a Starscream and a very unique design!

Transformers One was quite good, I was worried because of the trailers but I was surprised by how well executed it all was. None of the characters were annoying, and making Optimus Prime originally one of the oppressed class alongside Megatron was a good move. The scene where Orion gives Dee the sticker is so cute, I simply cannot. The ending felt a bit rushed but what can you do, it wasnt so bad that it's a problem for me.

I would have loved just a little more Starscream in the movie! Like, I knew he wasn't really gonna be in the movie much so i was prepared for it to be little more than a glorified cameo, but I loved a lot of what we did get and I feel like it was missing just a little bit more! Like, the whole High Guard turned rogue backstory he has is great, implies some honor to his character since he didnt keep serving Sentinal when the guy turned Cybertron over to the Quintissance. I think it's hilarious that Starscream is so much older than Megatron. Like, they gave us a lot of food to make headcanons out of, but then the rushed ending kind of left me with no real reason given for him and the rest of the High Guard to go with Megatron without a fight. Like, I think the reason given was that, because Megatron beat him up that one time, and then killed Sentinal, and since the High Guard became a might makes right society and hates Sentinal, I guess thats why they are loyal to him now. And I guess the one line where Starscream is like "all hail megatron" is supposed to indicate he's 100% behind Megatron now and not just a spur of the moment thing. And I guess them following his command to destroy the city is why theyre being banished. But like...idk, every other plot point was well established and properly played out, and the whole decepticons thing just didnt really feel like enough, and i kind of feel like it should have been more clearly communicated considering its an entire one side of a two sided war? I feel like we werent shown the high guard doing anything egregiously bad besides attacking people because megatron told them to.

Like, there's nothing in the movie to suggest that Starscream and the High Guard arent still loyal to the Primes. So when Orion comes back as a prime, like a proper prime, with the matrix and everything, which everyone knows will make the energon flow again, I'm surprised Starscream didnt at least try to make excuses or worm his way into avoiding banishment? My headcanon is he wanted to kill Sentinal as bad as Megatron and so when Megatron finally does what he failed to do for 50 cycles, he's like aite im ride or die for this guy. Maybe 50 cycles of living in the wilderness doing nothing but scout and pit fight all day changes a guy and they dont wanna live in a society anymore. Why dont they accept Optimus as the new prime? They helped him and Elita save their friends, and unlike Sentinal Optimus has the actual Matrix this time. Idk mang. Woulda liked a bit more.

Transformers One, not my favorite design for Starscream. The head vents going wide at the bottom look weird to me, and his legs are so long and flat.

Sorry if you're busy, I hope I didn't become a bother for the multiple asks, but here's what Happened during and After the Wedding Fiasco, in Optimus Pov of course. Sorry if it's another Megop or Opmeg centric. I'm addicted to their Divorce relationship and Breakup, Making It Everyone's Problem!

As Optimus Took a glance at Megatron who initiated the situation with Starscream's idea. (The Decepticons all glared at Starscream during this with faces telling they wanted this to be over soon and potentially beat the seeker up). Besides him was Blue Cop who was unfortunately to become Megatron's Victim of Delusions™ alongside Him. (Poor bot), Optimus glance then turns back to Megatron in Pity but in his own eyes, there's a hidden spark that should've been buried from when he was just a simple clerk, reading all of Megatron's Writing and poetry who admired the young clerk long ago... It was LONGING... Despite everything he and the Decepticons have gone against Cybertron, the Autobots, and Everyone including the Metal Cardbots. He couldn't dare to hate someone who was once a Gladiator, a Revolutionary, and Inspiration, and a Friend...

He wouldn't admit these feelings towards him right now, especially Blue cop besides him who's Panicking and trying to rattle his way out. Optimus couldn't blame Megatron's behaviour for slowly losing who he once was, that even went as far as Kidnapping Blue cop to make him the next Pax to his Spark. Maybe in another timeline where they could be friends once again or even more... But, This wasn't what Optimus wanted it to be...

(Also, Imagine Megatron wearing Equivalent to a Cybertronian Wedding dress, Here's the Post I saw I followed, I can't stop thinking about it not only does it show how far he's fallen, it also parallels my interpretation of a bride who got stood up from her wedding. And it suits Beautiful on Him!)

And, god, Optimus still having longing in his spark drives me insane! After everything he went through, after all the gore and war he saw, after what Megatron did to Bumblebee, he still longs for Megatron.

How could he not?

He still remembers how he used to be. That bot who had so many optimistic ideas on how to change the system, on how to make life better for the lower castes. The one who would write poetry just for Orion. He's gone, Optimus knows this, but he just can't let go of that

Even after the latest events with Blue Cop, he understands why. He understands why Megatron does this, that understanding sits heavy in his tanks. If only, oh! If only things were different for them. If only everything worked out in their favor. How would they be then? They would be together

He lost Megatronus, and now he's losing Megatron. He doesn't know what will happen if he loses him. Sometimes, sometimes, a traitorous part of him wants to stay, but he can't. His team, the humans, the cardbots, and especially Blue Cop need him. So even though it hurts, he leaves once again

Also I love the picture of Megs in a wedding dress, he looks amazing, but imagine what it would look like after the fight. It would be torn in several places, some parts ripped off entirely, energon would be splattered on it, and dirt, smoke, and dust would dirty it. He's not only a bride who got stood up at her wedding, he's a vengeful one

(Also should we make a ship name for the blue Cop and Megatron ship, and the OP, Megs, and BC ship? Like I know they were crack ships, but by this point they've been fleshed out a bit and I want something to tag these ship posts with something for organization purposes)

Does Astea keep the title of heir or would it go down to one of her more willing siblings like nemesis or galvatron since I think you mentioned she does not have neither decepticon or autobot badges? Actually follow up to the other question before, what do the deceptions think of that choice? or would they not care since things have changed by then?

Astraea is and always wil remain the heir of the Decepticons even after gaining three younger siblings carried by Optimus (and more carried by Megatron thousand and thousand years later that I don't think I've mentioned yet 🤔). The reason being because Astraea is the only one, aside from Orion, that has the capabilities and personality to handle it.

While Nemesis is the only one of the siblings that actually takes on a Decepticon brand, she is not leader material. Nemesis is muscle, through and through. Drop them in a war zone and they'll thrive, but drop Nemesis in a council meeting and ask her to perform politically and diplomatically, she'd fail miserably. Nemesis is very much aware of this, though, and has no interest in anything political, it bores her.

Orion is non verbal and hates people. He'd rather stay in the library reading than interacting with people, this sometimes includes his own family.

Galvatron is too fascinated and idolises the way Megatron was during the Great War for Megatron to comfortably entrust him with the Decepticon faction. By the time Megatron steps down, it's been millions of years since Astraea's birth and Autobots and Decepticons live together in peace on Cybertron, hence why the three younger megop kids were born in Kaon. Galvatron would absolutely threaten that peace too much and would try to establish a dominance and official regime that made him the ruler of Cybertron if he were given the title of leader of the Decepticons.

So while Astraea doesn't actually have aligience to either Decepticons or Autobots because she never got a brand from either, that gives her a neutral outlook on it. She grew up while there were still peace negotiations going on between Autobots and Decepticons. The official treaty that allowed Decepticons back to Cybertron didn't solidify until she was around 50 years old, that whole time she lived on Earth. She has an view on life that is definitely based on those first formative years. She wasn't used to luxury and a regal lifestyle like the other megop kids who spent their whole childhoods being raised in a castle. Astraea grew up (the first 50 years) in an industrial warehouse and around humans.

So I think that by the time that Astraea would become the next leader of the Decepticons, so many millions of years have passed that a majority of them don't really care that she never allied herself officially with the Decepticons until that point. It would be the norm for civilian frames and war frames to form couples and have sparklings, for Autobots to be together and conjunx Decepticons, etcetera, that it wouldn't be odd that the first sparkling born in 11.5 million years is the one to take her sire's throne.

In fact, I think Astraea would be seen very much as a hope for the Decepticons. Both as a sparkling and as an adult. She is the first sparkling born in a long time, but she is also the first war frame spark aside from rhe Constructicons to be mined from anywhere. Yes, the jettwins are definitely originally intended to be war frames with them originally being seeker frames (I will get there too in ACL but I don't know how far into that I'll go, so I'm mentioning it right now), but they are still undeniably in civilian frames. So Astraea would be celebrated and well loved by most, because she's Megatron's sparkling. At least by the Decepticons that are loyal to Megatron and not just the Decepticon cause. Characters like Tarn would despise her for being carried by an Autobot Prime.

Astraea is literally referred to as 'Princess' by most Decepticons and as 'Megatron's heir' when mechs aren't talking about her to her face.

I hope that answers it. I hope to one day feature the adult, or at least older version, of the megop kids in a story when I'm done with ACL so I will explore the dynamic between them and the Autobots and Decepticons (if I manage to get there).

Megatron, as you stand before me, blade stabbing through my spark, through the pain and sorrow, I can't help but feel relief. Relief that between the two of us, you are the one to remain alive. With the war over, you having won, I would like to make one final request of you old friend.

Don't kill my comrades.

No matter how much you hate them, what threat they may pose, I beg of you. Leave them alive. It pains me to say, but without me, they won't interfere much with your plans anymore. I can only hope you remember your roots. The kindness and hope for something better your spark held when I was but your archivist, and you, my warrior. It might be selfish to think this in my final moments. But I've always loved you, Megatron.

Perhaps in death, will these feelings finally meet their end.

I love you. I loved you. I never stopped loving you, even in my final moments. I hope to Primus we meet in our next lives and I hope again that it's a much kinder life. One without war or inequality or corruption. One where I can hold your servo in mine without shame. One where you are not Lord Megatron and I Optimus Prime. Leaders of the Decepticons and Autobots respectfully.

Until we meet again in the well of all sparks...

Megatron glared at the body of the deceased Prime. A dark pit in his spark. A black hole threatening to swallow all its light. He had thought it a good idea to have Shockwave and Soundwave make a machine that would make the last moments and thoughts of anybot visible and audible. He thought maybe he'd see the Prime's thoughts pleading him to not kill his comrades, as well as fear. Something to explain why Optimus in his final moments commed him ".: Spare them:."

Megatron didn't spare them, of course. He was frankly going to enjoy killing them one by one. But they had all escaped.

How bothersome.

He'd find them someday. He's sure of it. And just to spit in Optimus's last wish, he will torture them, too.

The Prime's face in his last moments echoed in his mind. He growled at the useless longing in his spark, squeezing a random object and breaking it.

He still couldn't believe it. Optimus Prime in love with his arch nemesis. How foolish. How stupid. Ridiculous!

Megatron clawed at the chesplates just over his spark. He could not cry, for his tears had run dry long ago. Foolish indeed. This is not what he thought he wanted. Ruling over Cybertron, having cyberformed earth into a second world for his species.. He had thought he wanted it. Now that he had it, Megatron found it empty. His ambitions were gone, no longer did he have a true equal in this whole galaxy.

None would ever be Optimus Prime.

No, he had to set things right. A world without Optimus is not a world Megatron can live with. Where's the fun in getting everything he wants without a little bit of a constant challenge?

Megatron, a true Decepticon, able to deceive even himself. Primus mused at this. Silly child, went on to kill his other half. This just won't do.

Their short story won't end like this. Primus will not allow it. He Who is Forever Tainted by Unicron, you will live life anew. You shall only know when the time is right, and your debt to Primus has been paid off of what they have done. Do not make the same choices that lead you to make your biggest regret. Make no mistake, this wish is not for you, but for he who is favored by me.

Make the child of Primus, he who was once Orion Pax and later one of Primus's true Primes enjoy a life worth living.

This is your one and only chance. Make it count.

"MEGATRON!"

Megatron woke up with a jolt. He tried to online his battle protocols, and they hummed loudly, ready to come out. But something stopped him. A servo, two, actually. Each cupped his cheeks and wiped away his tears. He turned to look at the bot whose servos they belonged to and found none other than Optimus Prime. "You're alive?"

Optimus looked bewildered for a moment, he could feel it through their bond. Bond? He felt affection, worry, and love from the Prime.

"I am very much alive, Megatron." Optimus leaned in to press their forehelms together. Megatron's servos easily reached to hold the Prime's waist as if they'd done so thousands of times. Maybe even more than that. "You must have had a nightmate."

"A nightmare.." It seemed so vivid. A world without Optimus, one where he had..

Megatron doesn't even want to think about it. His spark was still beating wildly in its chamber, and he recognized he still felt fear. A few well placed kisses from his bondmate further eased his worries and sorrow that still felt fresh in his processor and spark. Right. He and Optimus were Conjuxed now. Megatron greedily leaned into the kiss, but one small playful bap from his beloved made him huff and smile. Softening the kiss that would have become more desperate had it continued.

Megatron held Optimus for a long moment. His helm burrowed on the Prime's neck, the action mirrored by his other half. Small comforting kisses are being pressed on Megatron's neck along with quiet words of love. Primus, Optimus was a soft fool. But he was Megatron's soft fool.

They had layed back down at one point, still as close to one another as they could be. And they remained like that. Optimus having fallen asleep again at one point.

Megatron knew Optimus was a blessing, he just hadn't realized how much of one he was until he had that dream. No. The fragmented memories of his past life. Megatron had never seen them before, and even now they were hazy. But the feelings had persisted and carried over. He realized this now. It was thanks to them he reacted rather irrationally at many points in this life, but his longing for Optimus to be by his side remained the same. It had just taken a much, much more romantic turn than his other self would have thought.

Megatron had no regrets though. None at all. As he pressed a soft kiss on Optimus's audial, he smiled soft. "I love you." He wispered. He had said it so many times already, yet somehow this felt like the first.

Transformers One review

I'll start off with a non spoiler review.

First of all, amazing voice acting especially from Chris Hemsworth and Brian Tyree!! I didnt think Chris would be able to do a good orion/optimus voice but boy was I WRONG. They did amazing. Scarlett Johansson's voice for Elita was an amazing pick and keagan michael for bee's voice is also good.

Stellar voice acting with so much emotion!!

The animation is amazing. And the way they showed the world of cybertron is amazing. The world building in this movie is so good, i seriously feel like cybertron is a real planet with real creatures with its own rules, history, culture. They made the planet feel so alive, its insane.

All the characters were likeable, i was really vouching for all of them to succeed in their goals. The movie knows when to be funny and when to be serious, and it can get REALLY serious when it needs to be. The movie talks about real world problems and reflects it so well.

THE TRAILERS DID NOT DO THE MOVIE JUSTICE.

The trailers really made it look like a kids power ranger type of movie. The trailers gave it a vibe of:

"Bumblebee, you go left! D-16, you go right! And Elita.. well, you just be elita."

When the actual movie really wasnt. I kept my hopes low cause the trailers weren't really hyping me up that much and i didnt expect much from the movie overall but holy moly my expectations were blown away. The movie does have its flaws like any movie but yeah. This genuinely feels like the spiderverse of transformers. Truly amazing.

Overall 9.8/10, amazing job to everyone who worked on this movie, YOU COOKED!!!

I highly reccommend watching it in cinemas. Its worth it, just trust me on this!!!

Waiter! Waiter! I'd like a trilogy of transformers movies that are as good as this!

Id also like to add that this movie is the best transformers movie. And you dont have to be an insane transformers fan like me to like the movie, nor do you have to watch any other transformer movie to understand it. Its a great standalone movie. Its a movie great for both new and old transformer fans and people who are just looking for a good movie to watch.

I said all that i wanted to say about the overall movie in the non spoiler review. Here, I'll talk about the actual characters and story.

I had to resist screaming in theaters especially the part where Orion and D16 went to that thruster thing to get a better view of the Iacon 5000 and d16 is all like: "You did all this for me?"

The character development with D16 slowly turning into the monster that is megatron is BEAUTIFUL.

The movie writes d16 in a way that makes us NOT want him to turn evil which makes him slowly turning into megatron and betraying orion all the more heartbreaking. CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT.

Seriously, his descension into evil makes me wanna cry. His unbridled rage towards Sentinel portrayed through the voice acting is just WOW. You can really feel his anger through his voice.

The way his eyes change as the movie progresses is just great. They did great writing him, deep down I really wanted him to be redeemed and for him to NOT turn into a brute like sentinel even though I knew it was inevitable. Some transformations are good, useful even, but in the case of Megatron it was a terrifying transformation thats unfortunately permanent.

Sentinel prime, as much as I hate him he is still such a great character. I hate him so much I love him. THE SCENE WHERE HE WAS BEGGING D16 TO NOT KILL HIM SENT CHILLS. You can feel the amount of fear in his voice. It was a striking contrast to his confident demeanor, his ruthlessness as a 'leader', and he who is the literal killer of the Primes,

to see him BEG for his life truly shows how terrifying D16 is.

ORION PAX AKA THE GLORIOUS OPTIMUS PRIME.

A wonderful and entertaining main character. THE SCENE WHERE HE JUMPS OUT OF THE PIT AS OPTIMUS PRIME??? Holy moly that was so badass. AND THE LINE WHERE HE SAYS:

"We could've built the future together."

GOD IT MAKES ME WANNA CRY.

The expression he made when he saw D16 being absolutely BRUTAL to Starscream as he realizes that his friend is slowly transforming into someone evil is gut-wrenching.

And throughout the first part of the movie he was this reckless character who did stupid things, he had hope and determination unlike anyone. It made me question 'How could this guy possibly turn out to be the strong leader that Optimus is?'

But during that scene where he talked to the other miners and led the High Guard to sentinel made me 100% sure that yeah, this guy definitely can be a great leader. And the way he gave the miners a CHOICE to join him or not. That is PRIME.

Elita was a straight up girlboss. I love how they didn't make her just another love interest for Orion or made her just this girl who was a good fighter. She was sassy, witty, and a hard worker. I almost feel bad for her getting demoted and having to deal with the mess that is Orion, D16 and Bee. But anyways, shes an amazing character, really likeable personality who is way more than just a bot who's a good fighter (which was the impression i unfortunately got from the trailers)

Her pep talk with Orion was both funny and beautiful. She knows how to break someone down with her words and build them back up to be stronger. I loved her. Not to mention her design looks gorgeous??? Probably my fav elita design of all time.

At first I found Bee a strange addition to the movie and I was scared they were gonna make him an annoying character but thank god he really wasnt! He was a great comic relief character who had a lot of funny lines. He adds so much silliness into a serious movie and not in a bad way.

He knew when to be serious and the gravity of the situation with Sentinel being a terrible, corrupt leader. I loved the portrayal of him as this almost crazy guy whos been stuck being alone talking to inanimate objects in a place where all he does is burn trash all day (makes sense as to why he talks so much).

A really good character, thank primus they didnt make him annoying or overbearing.

Lastly, Cybertron itself. THE WORLD BUILDING IS SO GOOD. It's environment, its people (or bots?) make the planet feel so real. All of these cool mechanisms with the road and trains, the landscape during the train scene with the vapor wave-esque sun is just gorgeous. Such a beautiful portrayal of Cybertron that I love.

I personally dont think the movie NEEDS a sequel since the rest of the transformers just takes place after this, but if they make another movie thats as good as this, Im not complaining. If they do make a new movie though, I'll guess that it probably has something to do with the Quintessons or something idk.

Its a really beautiful take on Megatron and Optimus' backstory. And though there are many takes on it like how megatron was a gladiator and not a miner, etc,

This is still probably my favorite take on their story, its a really interesting portrayal of them and their fallout.

Anyways thats the end of my yap, honorable mentions to the music, it helped the immersion of the movie, and its really good.

Do note that Ive only seen it once, i might've gotten some stuff wrong but ill be looking to watch it again somehow in the future. My review may be subject to change but yeah.

Your bias shows incredibly clearly. To the point things you hate I love and it just makes it clear to me they’re down sides in your review simply because of your own opinions. It’s especially notable to me because while you sympathized and enjoyed D-16 and felt Orion was passive, I felt the opposite. I found myself having the least empathy for Megatron I’ve ever felt and feeling a new understanding for Optimus I didn’t have before. So aside from your takes on those two, I do agree with a lot of your points. The side characters aka B and Elita don’t make sense or need to be there like they were. The pacing was off and the story made a lot of concessions simply so things would go the way they wanted. They brute forced plot points into happening that don’t make sense. But in a vacuum I think it all works well. They draw on a lot of different influences and working together with those it’s their end goal becomes incredibly clear. Which for me works a lot! I enjoyed the film having such an obvious vision. There are many things I didn’t like about the film and even left the theater the first time unsatisfied with it. But after having seen it 4 times now, I’ve grown a lot happier with it. I think it’s something that needs getting used to. Which of course having to see a film several times to really “get it” is not great but well I like it now so my bad. I agree the elite guards existence is a bit dumb and contrived but I think I get their reason for being a bit more. In the end I’m not sure why I’m saying all this but to point out that your own personal bias has greatly affected what is otherwise a wonderfully put together review. Now you said as much so normally I wouldn’t point that out but I actually study film and journalism while trying to professionally review movies. I do that and while I’m not sure that’s what you were going for you certainly achieved it. Aside from the minor grievances I mentioned. So just if you were, I’d keep that in mind for the future. I hope you don’t come out of this ask thinking I disliked your review at all, really it’s stellar work and I respect it a lot. But it seems we really disagree on this film huh? Personally, I wasn't aiming to write a bias free review because A) that sounds boring as crap. And B) I feel like half the fun of reading or watching a review is getting to see a bit of soul to the commentator. I take a lot of Inspiration from Schaffrillas Productions, The Critical Drinker, Cinemasins, Nerdrotic, and Pastra. And this is largely because I like having actual analysis mixed in with some personality when it comes to a film, especially fictional media. There is an arguable truth when it comes to historical media and film, but fictional stuff is designed to have opinions and differing views that vary from fan to fan. Hence, my review being chalk full of my personal takes.

I have my opinions and I am not shy about them lol. I prefer D-16, you prefer Orion Pax. Some people will die on the hill of Elita superiority, meanwhile I would prefer to throw her off the nearest cliff. Some folks think Sentinel is mid, and I think he's stunning. It's all cool. Honestly, I think one of the good things about TF One is that it gives enough leeway when it comes to our main duo for fans to love one or both of them. There's room to think and develop an opinion. It's so much fun seeing others and their ideas, even if I don't agree.

i think orion simply would not believe megatron ends up being… well a Bad Fucking Guy. he just. closes his eyes to every sign that megatron is a horrible person. unless megatron straight up kills someone in front of him orion will pretend that megatron hasn’t changed, he’s still megatronus, and will go along with most of what megatron says.

megatron’s soft spot for orion died the day orion, alpha trion, elita, and ultra magnus wanted to over throw him. megatrons soft spot died AGAIN when orion became optimus. megatrons primary motivation has ALWAYS been power. because megatron likes attention, likes people listening to him, likes being in the center stage, and that’s what power gives him. fawning, obedience, and everyone’s eyes on him. so when orion not only tried to seize that power from him, but now is in contact with an artifact that is said to be physically powerful AND culturally powerful…. megatron despises him.

so i think megatron in this situation would not be stringing orion pax for very long. megatron doesn’t see an old friend but a soon to be enemy- in fact, just an enemy. perhaps orion had ALWAYS been his enemy, not just optimus. so i think megatrons primary goal would be to take the matrix from orion. even if megatron can’t use the power of the matrix, it still has that cultural significance as a holy relic which is power in itself, and it keeps others from having that power. and i think megatron would try to kill him for it. and THAT would only be when orion realizes megatron is NOT his friend- when he sees first hand how megatron has changed.

so i think megatron would lure orion away from his friends, wine and dine him a bit to make sure the amnesia is legit, and that orion has no chance in stopping him, and then he would rip the matrix from him and attempt to kill him. so he wouldn’t be gone for very long.

the others WOULD launch a rescue attempt. i think arcee would be the most pissed off about this situation because she already has conflicted emotions about optimus as a leader and she fucking hates megatron. but i think everyone else is mostly just scrambling to get optimus back because how could they possibly win the war without him?

tbh if this happened i really think megatron would just succeed in killing him. orion would not fucking question him. megatron has ALWAYS been his blind spot throughout the war. he can change! he wouldn’t do that! he simply wouldn’t see it coming. and when megatron kills orion i suppose it becomes truly symbolic of him casting away every last trace of megatronus.

it would basically speed run the rodimus prime arc. megatron kills orion in time for the autobots to launch their rescue and hot rod is the one who wrestles it back from megatron. i think funnily enough this is still a good ending for optimus…. he dies as orion pax. optimus has always hated being optimus, he never wanted to be optimus. but now he dies as orion pax. and perhaps he died betrayed by megatronus but deep in his heart i think 1) he knew that was going to happen 2) it’s like…. sort of a fucked up intimacy to be killed by your brother and like i think he loves him enough that he’s perfectly fine with that ending. and at least this time he dies as himself. orion pax. not a legend but simply a man.

ANYWAY….. it would not be good to say the least.

What made you think Megatron/D-16 the most complex character in tfone? :0 (not hate, I'm genuinely curious and I really loved reading your analysis/insight)

If I recall correctly I said that in the context of complainign about the Spanish dub casting, by which I mean that Megatron requires a comparatively wider range and that the movies hinges a lot on selling his character, given that the crux of the movie is the megop fallout and this fallout was caused by the ways in which Megatron changed.

Orion and D-16 are the characters who have the most going on and are given more depth, this isn't to say that every other character is bad, but the story is about the megops and so they are given more screentime and explored more throughly. But compared to D, Orion fundamentally remains the same through the whole movie, while D ends a completely different person that he was at the start.

There is a simplicity to Orion, he sees a bad thing, he wants to fix a bad thing. His motivation through the whole movie is always to get a better, fairer life for himself and his fellow miners. He routinely sneaks into the archive hoping to find clues about the Matrix in the hopes they can get the energon flowing again and miners can do something else with their lives, he wants to participate in the race to show that not having a cog doesn't make them lesser. Finding the truth doesn't affect his person, if anything it validates him, because he already thought the system was unfair. He's still mainly concerned with getting people a better life and the path to that now seems harder, but it's also clearer than ever.

That is not to say Orion is a one-note character with no depth, or that portraying him is easy (all acting requires skill). He comes more into himself, he is deeply concerned and then hurt by D/Megatron, he has a wide range of emotions. And I already talked about how I think his flaws are very consistent with his virtues, his strong sense of justice makes him stubborn and one-track minded, he bulldozes through D-16's opinions and the fact that what must be done feels so clear to him makes him unable to handle D's feelings. He's young and eager, maybe an experienced Optimus Prime would have handled things better.

In comparison, there's a lot more going with D and his feelings aren't as straighforward. In the beginning he does confess some corcerning belief and he was talking more in terms of "I" and "me" and more concerned with personal gain than Orion, but he was still a nice, kind guy who stayed to help Jazz and cared about his best friend, helped him and put up with him even when Orion can be a missguided jerk. D-16 had genuine belief in the system and Sentinel Prime, was happy to work and go higher within its parameters. So when he finds out everything he thought he knew was a lie, he flips out, his value system is turned over creating a potential for change taht circumstances direceted in a negative direction.

He has all this anger that he doesn't know how to handle and doesn't have an outlet for, so he starts by blaming Orion for leading them to the truth as unreasonable as that may sound because on an emotional level, he is upset by the things he has learned and he learned them because of Orion's actions, he wouldn't have to suffer if he had remained ignorant. He figures that violence feels good and that he can use it so no one is in a position of power over him again, so he can never be made a fool again. He projects his own feelins of not wanting the truth onto everyone else and decides he can only trust himself. And he just keeps on indulgin in his anger and newfoudn thirst for power more and more.

Megatron's internal process of change is communicated not only through dialogue but also through some amazing body language thanks to the animators which should be supported through and equally adept voice delivery. These are sometimes hammy, sometimes subtle but we need to feel them. When Orion wants to stop Megatron from killing Sentinel because they already won and extra-judicial murder sets a bad precedent for their new world and also because he's worried that if Megatron indulges more in violence there won't be going back and when Orion fumbles that because he's Orion, the audience needs to not only fully buy that the guy we met at the beginning has changed enough to let Orion die for the sake of the person he now wants to be, but also to feel it enough that it hurts us as well.

And Brian Tyree Henry does an amazing job of delivering all aspects of Megatron!! He really elevates the TF One experience through his voice acting. Meanwhile Eduardo Capetillo Gaytán just doesn't fit Megatron (even my non-tf friends commented on what a terrible voice match he was), not all his lines are awful but he just doesn't provide any nuance to Megatron's performance, he doesn't sound really different at the ends and also he sounds like he's throwing a tantrum. Which I guess is not entirely wrong given how Megatron acts like he personally is Sentinel's biggest victim, but Capetillo is more on the line of spoiled brat than Megatron, the dreaded leader of the Decepticons. I mean

You have a great many questions anonymous one. I am... uncertain of how much I would like to share, but I will answer to the best of my abilities.

Regarding your first query, I was unaware that Orion and Megatron of Kaon were romantically involved until Orion took control of our frame during his stay on the Nemesis. I did not notice much during the war because of other issues that required my attention, but looking now I can see h█ge █ole█ █n my █e█o█y. I have all of Orion's memory within me, but grea█ █h█n█s a█e m█s█i█g, or rather kept from my view. Not only that, but now that my mind is not clouded by pain or fear, I can see just how... grim Orion's life was until he met Megatron. I was distracted at all times during the war, and thus most of the memories I used were of minor events, small instances and habits. They came in flashes along with barrages of data. Very rarely did I fully experience one of Orion's memories. With that in mind, I was totally unaware that Orion and Megatron were anything but brothers.

I see now how wrong that assumption was, but based upon what memories and flashes I was █llowe█ █o a█ces█, that was the extent of their relationship in my mind. That was part of the reason I never fully understood why Orion fought me so hard. Why would he risk everything for one mere companion? I know that up until I took in Bumblebee, I would have never given my life for one mere mortal. Of course that has changed now, but that was my mentality at the time. Now with that said, I was shocked beyond words to learn of their relationship through experiencing their... intimacy.

There is nothing I can imagine worse than having one's frame touched so intimately by one's worst enemy. I hated every moment on the Nemesis, I hated every touch that I could feel but do nothing to stop. I despised every kiss I gave no consent for. It was a torment, especially when they tried to merge.

Simply put, I was distraught, shocked, and horrified all at once. It was the harshest reality check I have endured so far. Learning of Orion and Megatron proved that all I fought for was not as I imagined it. Their love showed █h█t I w█s not nee█e█, t█a█ █y exi█ten█e w█s merely prolongi█g a w█r t█a█ █hould h█ve en█e█ █illen█i█ █go. At the time I could not process that truth, and so I did not change my course of action when I regained control. How could I when my whole life was built on the lie that Orion and Megatron were mere companions drawn apart by differing ideals? Thus, I endured agony and kept silent, trying not to think much of what I experienced. Even now I am not fond of thinking about it and the unwanted engagements on the Nemesis. I understand my host a little better now, but I still believe he was too harsh when it came to my minor interactions with Ratchet.

As for your last question... I have thought on it often myself. Ratchet is not a mech who would lie without reason. As such I can only assume he never told me of Orion and Megatron because he was of the belief that I knew. To my knowledge, me and my host were seen as one and the same until our separation. Ratchet likely thought that I had seen fit to move on from whatever ties I had to Megatron. He did not know that I was not Orion and that I had no idea how close my host and my foe really were. From there I can only guess it never came up because I never asked. I had no reason to question, not when I was constantly occupied.

Transformers: One rambles because I have to talk about this with someone (but I mostly talk about D-16)

(as someone who has consumed barely any transformers content besides 20 second clips on TikTok)

Okay for starters, WOW.

This movie was AMAZING, and if you haven’t seen it yet I HIGHLY recommend you do.

The animation is phenomenal, and the voice acting is great. The design of Cybertron can only be described as jaw dropping, and some of the scenes in that movie gave me CHILLS.

If you can, PLEASE go watch the movie in theaters so that we can get a sequel!!

Also, I am NOT that good when it comes to analysis. I am making this purely to share my thoughts about the film and D-16 specifically. Additionally, I’ve only watched the film once, so once I rewatch it again, I’ll probably come back with a more in-depth analysis. This is more of a ramble if anything.

ALSO!! I am NOT a big transformers fan! This is the first Transformers film I’ve seen besides brief clips from TikTok and TV. I am not well informed on the lore at all, so if I sound stupid at some parts, that’s why 😋😋

Fun fact, D-16’s VA, the incredibly talented Brian Tyree Henry, played Jefferson Davis in both Spider-Man: Into the Spiderverse and Spider-Man: Across the Spiderverse, and was Lemon from the movie Bullet Train!

But moving on, I love him so much.

I don’t know about any other iterations of Megatron/ D-16 but I prefer this one to the one in the Bay films.

HE’S JUST SO SSNSHSJDJSKS

For starters, when we’re introduced to him, we can already see how strong his relationship with Orion is. He helps him escape those archive guards (and given how smooth it was, it’s safe to assume that this isn’t the first time he’s had to do so), and when Orion pops out the cart, he swipes some dirt off him :)) (how nice!!)

He’s used to protecting Orion. He is used to helping him out when he gets himself in trouble. Because Orion is his friend, he’s got his back, and he knows that he’d do the same for him, and he does!

Whenever they’re reprimanded for their (Orion’s) reckless behavior, he’s always the first to own up, and admit it was his idea.

Got this from Twitter, but as the story progresses, the sticker Optimus gave him at the start gradually begins to fade, which is a sign of their friendship.

And not only that, but the fact that this symbol of their friendship ends up transforming into the symbol for the Decepticons at the end (talk about foreshadowing)— GOD WHY DO YOU HATE ME

Notice how D-16 objects to every idea that Orion comes up with, scared of how it would affect his rank at work and how he’s viewed in society, like when Orion offers to enter into the race. And on the day of the race, as Orion leads him to the sign above the starting zone, he objects then too, obviously skeptical. But despite his protest, he still follows him, and that’s because he trusts him. Despite disliking being dragged into whatever antics Optimus gets up to, he still does it with him because he’s his friend, and he knows that he can trust him; trust Orion.

D-16 doesn’t like breaking the rules, but if it’s for/with Orion, I feel as if he’d do nearly anything. Because they’ve got each other’s back, always.

And ohmigod, that scene in the cave was literally had my mouth gaping. You could’ve heard a pin drop with the way everyone shut up.

Think, you just learned that one of the people who you admired the most has rigged the system against you, that since you were born, you were denied what is essentially your birth right, and the freedom that this prophet promised you was nothing but a lie that was fed to keep you going so he could live the high life while you toiled away endlessly in the mines. All I can think about is how devastating that is.

You dedicate your entire life to one man, and he ends up not only being a liar, but also a traitor. Shit I’d be pissed too.

And when we get to the end and Megatron is about to kill Sentinel Prime, but Orion jumps in front of D-16’s gun to block the blast, sacrificing himself in order to prevent his best friend from filling falling to the dark side— only for it to BACKFIRE at the end—

Im gonna end it all.

And then when his face starts to twist. You can see him going through so many emotions in that moment. Worry, confusion, and panic at first, and then frustration, anger, rage, and then finally, certainty. He makes up his mind here. He becomes Megatron here.

When he let go of Orion, he let go of himself as well. He exchanged his life, the life of Orion Pax and the relationship he had with him for his idealized future. The result? His now former best friend rises from the dead, now rechristened as Optimus Prime, stops his attempt at seizing control, and then banishes him.

And also the genuine SHOCK and DISBELIEF you can see in Megatron’s eyes when Optimus tells him he’s been banished, it just tells us that at this moment, he still saw Optimus Prime as Orion Pax, his best friend, and he can’t believe his best friend would do this to him.

And just think about it. Orion literally risks his life for his best friend, because they’ve always had each other’s back. He trusted him. and his best friend, the man he loved like a brother, ends up breaking this promise, choosing his own path, a path without him, betraying him

AND the fact that the action Orion does that ends up making Megatron is done out of love, a last ditch effort to remind his best friend of who he was, and the fact that the action that transforms D-16 to Megatron is done out of hatred and rage

Chapter 6

When Arcee got back to the ship she was greeted by Soundwave who grabbed her and took her to his room. Arcee tried to get her arm out of his grip but it was no use. They get to the room and he closes the door and looks at her. "What was that all about, Soundwave?" She asked as she glared at him.

Soundwave showed footage of her with the Autobots helping Breakdown, "You need to be careful... Lord Megatron doesn't like being disobeyed."

"I didn't think it was right to leave him in their hands. I'm not sure why though, I know Decepticons aren't supposed to care but I do."

Soundwave just stood there looking at her and listening to what she was saying, he could tell she still had that good spark of an Autobot even though she was supposed to be a Decepticon now. Arcee looks at him, "I guess you're gonna show Megatron and let him know."

Soundwave just shook his helm to confirm he won't as he looked into her optics, the blue and lavender colors were gone as well as the light that twinkled in her optics. That's the one thing he hated about the chip mind control, that it took out the color and light he loves so much in her optics. He was mesmerized by her optics the moment he first looked into them, he was pulled in and had trouble looking away.

"Why would you help me and keep this from him?" She asked feeling confused.

He just looked at her then walked past her and went over to a table that was set up in his room where he usually sets Laserbeak to rest. He removes Laserbeak from his chest and lays him down on the table so he can recharge, then he looks back at Arcee. "Time to rest... You can take the berth I have work to do," he said before he headed out of the room.

Arcee watched him as he left, she felt even more confused than before. Why would he keep her secret and keep her safe? She just shrugged it off as she went to lay down on the berth. I better not wake up to find him sleeping in the berth right next to me again. She thinks to herself as she doses off into recharge.

At Autobot base, the 'Bots were reeling from their run-in with Arcee, they couldn't believe she didn't remember them. "Arcee's still in there, I know it," Bulkhead spoke up.

"I do believe she is, we need to find a way to get her from them so we can remove the chip and reverse what Megatron did," Ratchet added.

"She really couldn't remember any of you?" Jack asked.

"Nope, don't even remember ever being an Autobot," Ratchet replied.

"So she won't remember me," Jack says with a sad look. Miko walks over to him and gives him a hug which surprises him, and Raf puts a hand on his arm.

"We'll get her to remember, I promise," Optimus tells him. Jack just gives him a weak smile. "It's time for the kids to go home. Jack, I'll take you home," Optimus says as he looks at the boy.

"OK," Jack says as he gets his stuff together. Optimus transformed and let Jack get in, once he was in, Optimus drove off.

Soundwave was doing his work when Megatron walked up to him, "How's Arcee? Is she settling in alright?"

"Yes... She's in my room recharging right now."

"Good. She is very useful, I don't want anyone or anything messing with my plans."

Soundwave just acknowledged he heard him and went on with his work.

"I'm gonna tell you a secret, Soundwave, I want it to stay between you and me."

Soundwave turned to look at him to let him know he was listening.

"I believe I'm starting to get feelings for Arcee."

Soundwave stood there and just listened to his lord and master talk about his feelings for the femme he had feelings for. However, he did have his suspicions that Megatron was starting to feel for her.

"She's tough, a good fighter, and she's very beautiful."

"What about Optimus?" Soundwave asked as he remembered how Megatron revealed his feelings for Optimus to him. Megatron started getting feelings for Optimus when they started becoming friends as Orion and Megatronus and exceeded into their new names and forms as Optimus and Megatron. It made it even harder to go to war against him as he never thought he would go to war with the mech he loved, but they are at war together and he no longer can see them getting together.

"I can't see us getting together anymore with the whole war going on. All this fighting pretty much killed it."

"Understandable," Soundwave said as he felt a twinge in his spark. All he could do was hope Megatron could get his feelings for Optimus back and let him have Arcee if he could get her to love him back.

"This stays between us two," Megatron told him firmly. Soundwave just nodded in confirmation. Megatron then walked out and Soundwave got back to his work.

Optimus stops in front of Jack's house and lets him out then waits for him to get inside. Jack goes into the garage and sees a package sitting on the table, he opens it up and finds out what it is. He runs out to Optimus who is getting ready to leave and he stops him, "Optimus! My mom's in trouble!"

"Get in!" Optimus says as he opens his door, Jack gets in and they drive off to the location presented to them through the device Jack found. Optimus tried calling base but ended up getting a helmache, "Something's preventing me from calling out," he says as he drives on.

Skyfire was never any good at comprehending such conflicting feelings. On one hand he felt bad for leaving Starscream like that, but at the same time if the Starscream he once knew is truly gone then so be it.

What does it matter? There's nothing he can do if Starscream doesn't want to change, so why does it hurt so bad? Skyfire didn't know, but he knew if there was one mech that could help him right now, it's Optimus.

Optimus may not know the specifics of their complicated friendship, but surely he would understand what it's like to have a friend you can't help.

'Optimus?' Skyfire said through the comm link, 'Skyfire what is it? Is it Starscream? Do you need assistance?' 'No. I was wondering if you and I could talk.' Skyfire almost felt embarrassed asking for Optimus' time, but if there's one thing he knows about the mech it's that when it comes to his teammates, he will always try to be available for them.

He was caring like that, and Skyfire felt like he was the kindest living creature this world could possibly have to offer, 'Of course. I will be waiting in my quarters come by whenever you'd like.' 'Thank you, I really appreciate you taking the time.'

Skyfire nearly sprinted down to Optimus' quarters and once there he raised a servo and gently knocked on the door, "Come in Sky." He careful opened the door to his leaders quarters and saw Optimus sitting at a makeshift table with a chair right across from him inviting Skyfire to join him.

Skyfire nervously sat in the chair across from Optimus, "I suspect your conversation with Starscream didn't go as you planned." "You can say that..." He looked down at his servos and sensing his nervousness Optimus reached out offering to let Skyfire hold his servo during their discussion. Skyfire took his offer and held onto to Optimus as he thought of what to say.

"It still amazes me how much he's changed. I feel like I should be used to it by now, but when I look at him I don't see the monster he's become all I see is the mech I once considered a friend, no matter how many times his words and actions point to the contrary... When we talked he had said that the friend I knew died the moment I crashed on Earth and I could tell he meant that. The friend I once knew is dead and I am left to grieve for someone who's still alive."

Skyfire tried to stop the tears that were threatening to form in his optics when he finished his sentence, "When we were all fighting and fearing for our lives I was able to push those feelings to the side and focus on that instead, but now that there is peace, there's nothing to take my mind off of how much I grieve for Starscream. How much I miss listening to him rant about nonsense on those late nights in academy..."

Skyfire took a deep vent as he continued, "I want nothing more than to go back in time and prevent my crash. I shouldn't have been so stupid suggesting that we take a closer look because no amount of scientific discovery could be more important than Starscream..." Coolant flowed freely down Skyfire's face by this point.

"I understand your pain. I have had many friends come and go it is never easy. I've had friends die in battle and I've had friends who ended up changing for the worst." Optimus said empathetically, it honestly irritated Skyfire as much as he felt bad for feeling that way when Optimus only wanted to help.

"It's more than losing a friend Optimus... I loved him, I wanted him to be my conjux, but I didn't admit that to him back then and I certainly can't now. He hates me he said it himself."

Optimus sighed and squeezed Skyfire's servo slightly, "I have never told anyone this, but at one point when I was still Orion Pax I had loved a mech who ended up betraying me and the cause he originally stood for."

"Megatron." Skyfire said a little surprised by his leaders honesty, Optimus nodded, "I may not understand the specifics of what you are feeling, but I have been through something similar, and although Megatron and I have mended our broken relationship I unfortunately can't say it will be the same for you, but I genuinely hope the best for you and Starscream."

Optimus gave Skyfire a gentle smile and Skyfire couldn't help, but smile back as he wiped away his tears, "Thank you..." "Anytime Sky. It's getting late perhaps you should get some recharge." "That sounds like a good idea. Goodnight Optimus." "Goodnight Skyfire."

When Skyfire stepped out of the room he went on an old comm link he used to share with Starscream when they were in academy, 'Goodnight Star, may Primus bless you with the most pleasant of dreams. I love you.' He knew Starscream would never receive his comm message, but it made Skyfire feel good.

RELATIONSHIP

Decepticon Prime Au

(Want to clarify that Megatronous is Megatron or basically D-16, and Megatronus Prime are separate people. If you didn’t understand that I just wanted to point that out real quick)

What about the Autobots? The Decepticons? So who’s with optimus?

Well after what went down of course some would blame Orion for their leader’s death. Cough Starscream. Maybe even Soundwave at first but it soon subsides as they both need to focus on what to do next. Later down the main line, it would be the main Decepticons but a few additions. Jazz, Ratchet, Bumblebee, etc.

I do have in mind to have some character who will still be a part of the Autobots, perhaps they will defect to the Decepticons in the future. Like Prowl hell be a part of the autobots but his loyalty to the Autobots may change due to a very handsome annoying Decepticon (It’s Jazz)

Most are with the Decepticons, either being acquainted with Orion or they went ahead and joined for another reason.

Ratchet Joined of course to help those in need at the lower-caste. He trusts Orion and the questionable friends he surrounds himself with but he plays it off as he doesn’t trust any mech here in treating a wound properly. (He genuinely cares for everyone well being)

Bumblebee, right now I’m thinking of him having a father-son relationship with Optimus of course. Either adopted or actually being his sparkling, whether it was Orion who carried him or It was Megatron I'm not sure yet either. If it was Orion carrying then he probably found out he was sparked after Megatron died and the sparkling would be born. Megatron when he finally has his memories back again would be shocked but also angry that he did not just die and left his beloved alone but their sparkling as well. He would be also worried about meeting his sparkling for the first time as both won’t know what to do once seeing each other. He probably dreads it, that his kid might hate him for not being in their life and leaving their carrier alone.

(Brother you fucking died, how the hell would he blame you or hate you. It not like you wanted to die anyways, even if you didn’t take the shot Orion would of died)

Jazz, like I said he would have joined the Decepticons with Orion as they are friends. He is the type of mech to get you talking and probably use it to blackmail you. But he is a friendly guy. I don't have much for him right now but one thing he likes to do is to annoy a specific autobot at high command. (JazzProwl)

Starscream, oh boy well Skystar is one of my weaknesses so of course I have to add that in. I was going to have Soundwave be his support but after Cosmic Orchid’s idea, I'll have Starscream be Optimus’s Support instead. It makes more sense actually.

############################################################################################################### To play off Starscream's and Skyfire's relationship in G1, Starscream, instead of a backstabber, is the most loyal and the closest to Orion as he lost Skyfire due to the machinations of the Senate and Sentinel Prime. Basically, when the Thirteen Primes were ambushed, the High Guard rushed to help but we're overwhelmed because *somebody* leaked the stats and tactics of the High Guard. General Skyfire, Prima Prime's second in command, sacrificed himself to buy time for the High Guard to escape. Starscream, Megatronus Prime's second in command, never forgives himself for not staying with Skyfire until the end. As such, when he hears how Optimus lost his life to the Senate like he did, Starscream takes Orion under his wing and becomes his biggest supporter.

To make it more heart wrenching, have the Senate keep Skyfire in a medically induced coma so that they can use him as the basis for the Sentinel Project. Brainwashed Megatron somehow frees him and so Skyfire vows to serve him until he can find his love.

What happens after can be up to you.

I’m imagining a scene, a meeting between high command on what to do next. Their leader is dead. Soundwave says it was Orion's fault that he should never let him get that close, he was a liability. Soundwave blames himself as well but also pushes his anger at Orion. He doesn’t usually show emotion but this was their leader, the mech that would lead them to victory ,abolishing the corrupt system. I would say he idolizes Megatron after getting to know him more and having him die hits him pretty hard especially since it would mean to him that he failed once again ( Rip Megatronous Prime and Megatron). Jazz would argue with Soundwave going back and forth as Deadlock keeps them from killing each other.

Then at the Medbay Ratchet is patching up Orion checking if his upgrade from the Matrix has caused any malfunctions or errors. Before he goes to other patients he says one last thing to comfort him. “ You're not alone Orion, remember that ” he leaves off to the next injured mech.

Orion was deep in thought, going through his processor. Going over his memory files of the incident. The yelling, the screams, the pain. Staring down the barrel, his body couldn’t move, he deserved this, not him, it was his fault, he should have died not him.

He heard his voice for the last time before the bang– Someone grabbed onto his shoulder, he quickly turned around before grabbing onto strangers' arm, almost crushing it with his new found strength.

His Combat computer activates, he winces as he is not used to the newly added mod. The stranger takes his servo off him. “Hey..-Okay I know I shouldn't have done that… but I see.. the doctor patch you up” he leans to the side. “ umm.. Frag this is awkward” Starscream rubs the back of his neck. He sighs before moving in front of him “ I'm going to say this once. Before you do something stupid!!” he points at him.

“It is not your fault” “ Don’t give me that look, I can tell that you were blaming yourself about it, despite your Upgrade I can still read you like a book”. Orion avoids his gaze. Starscream sighs again as he sits next to him. “I know what it feels like… especially when dealing with these ugly thoughts, thinking you deserve the pain, punishing yourself for something you had no control over.” Then he turns to look at Orion. “The pain will never go away but it gets better overtime. You have plenty of good friends who are there for you but if you want to talk to someone who has been through this before you can always talk to me.”

Starscream being nice???? Well…. EYah. Having him support Orion with his new responsibilities and being there when he needs it.

Skyfire, hmmm not much for him but I will have him taken by the Autobots and use him as a way to make their Lie believable to Megatron. Think about the coma, a really good idea but what about another victim getting brainwashed when he does wake up.

(honestly If I ever do write this I might add a whole chapter of them seeing each other again and how sky does not remember them but feels like they do. Hmmm Maybe he is one of the people that get Megs out of here and back to their respective lovers.)

Soundwave is difficult to decide as I would believe he would also hate Orion but also himself. Would he be like og Starscream and try to kill him? Not sure.. He’s smarter than that. I think he would resent him but continue his duties for the causes as long as Orion works for the cause.
