One of my fave things about people who write angst + hurt/comfort fics for the Krew is that those fuckers have to pool all their brain power together to come up with like 5 positive coping skills - and even then, those coping skills are vague and barely helpful if that.
In other campaigns, people like the Witchhunters have spent pretty much decades of their lives being tormented about their traumas and having it weigh down upon them so heavily they can't help but be aware it's trauma - same with the Icebound gang and so on. Like by episode 17 of EoM they fucking saw their deepest most traumatic memory; and by like idk ep 10 or something of Icebound they all physically experienced one another's life story. But the Krew are middle-aged men who have been friends for over a decade and yet by eps like 40-50 they can still barely share basic personal facts about themselves without feeling deeply weirded out. And yet several of their party members - let's be real, the whole party - is deeply fucked up and traumatized; but God forbid they know how to handle it.
That's why I looove OUAW fics. You get to watch a dude who is like "oh yeah my brain is just like this and wants to kill me and I wanna blow up and die all the time like most human(oid) beings, it's very normal as I am also very normal." and the rest of the krew is like "hmmm, maybe [interchangeable party member] isn't doing so well. Idk how to help, though, " and you get to watch them stumble through giving another person basic comfort and do so with the best intentions and the emotional intelligence of a preteen.

Waiting to Exhale
Elijah “Smoke” Moore x Reader
Tumblr media
The hospital stank of sulfur and various of other chemicals used in an attempt to reduce the illness that was causing such suffering to the current patients of Mercy Hospital. You were one of the victims fighting tuberculosis, it weakened your already fragile body quickly. Being born with a scarred lung did you no favors, and even the best doctors in the state had little hope for your survival, they didn’t say it but you could see it in their eyes that they weren’t confident that your body would accept the treatments.
One of the frequent visitors you had was your childhood friend Elijah “Smoke” Moore. He hated seeing you so beat down by this disease. He’d give anything for it to disappear from your fragile body. But he had no choice but to impatiently wait for some hope that the treatments would work, and you’d bounce back to your old cheerful and mischievous self. But the other part of him knew there wasn’t much hope, and having to face that realism wasn’t something he was ready for.
“You shouldn’t be wasting your time being here and worrying about me. You have a business to run”
He wipes some more sweat from your forehead, ignoring your words.
“Were you able to eat anything this morning?”
“Elijah, you should go on back to your off-“
“Did you?”
You let out a frustrated sigh at his stubbornness
“A little bit, I managed to eat half a bowl of oatmeal”
“Good….that’s good”
“Listen….Smoke, as much as you don’t want to hear this, all they’re doing is making sure I’m comfortable bef-“
“NO-no, don’t talk like that alright, you’re getting out of this alive and well, I won’t have it any other way”
“It’s not your decision Eli….it’s all in God’s hands now honey, please, let this be a positive last moment between us, okay?”
Your scratchy voice burned his heart. Gone was your smooth honey vocals that softened his spirit, now it had withered away in less than a week, he couldn’t take it anymore, when he said he wouldn’t have it any other way he’d meant it. After a nurse came in and told him that visiting hours were over, he kissed both your cheeks and lips and told you he’d see you later.
When he stepped out of the hospital he was met by Stack leaning up against the brick wall.
“How’s she doing?”
“She ain’t got much long until….”
“I know….I know brother”
“Stack, I….you know I don’t want this but”
“You want her”
He nods while chuckling, the tears are burning his eyes as the flow got heavier.
“I love that girl more than myself, I’d give up all this shit if she told me to”
“I know Smoke, I know you will, you’re in love it’s only natural, don’t we all do crazy things when we’re in love?”
His hand is resting on Smoke’s shoulder, they’re eye to eye now, Stack trying to make him understand his point, his real point.
“…..Don’t hurt her Stack-“
“It won’t be like how Mary did me, she won’t feel a thing”
Stack pulls him into a tight embrace before he enters the hospital.
———————————————————————————
You open your eyes to your hospital room darker than how it was when Smoke visited. The sun was setting quickly, and by how you’re feeling, it would be a miracle if you made it through the night. Something else catches your eyes, you squint a little to see a manly figure hovering over your bed, the fragrance wafting off of him was strongly familiar to you.
“Who is….” You could barely even talk, it hurt to breathe
“It’s gonna be alright cherie”
“No….no no no Stack please don’t”
“Shhhh”
You couldn’t fight him if you tried, your body had given up any strength you had left, and Stack had your limp wrist in his mouth in no time. He kept his word to Smoke, it felt like a little pinch, maybe a bug bite, but it wasn’t violent like how it was the night when he and others were turned. He finally removed his mouth and kissed your palm before gently placing your arm back down.
———————————————————————————
You and Stack walk out of the hospital as if nothing ever happened, you especially felt as though all those months of suffering never happened. You smiled when you saw Smoke and ran into his waiting arms, after sprinkling his face with kisses you squeezed him tighter in a hug, letting him swing you around, he took one look at his brother, who had a small cocky smirk on his face. This was the way, no more being trapped with mortal ailments, both physically and spiritual. Stack had won this battle with Smoke, he was able to manipulate the love his brother felt for their childhood friend, one down and hopefully soon, another to go.
“Thank you” Smoke mouthed to him and Stack gave him a salute before walking off home to Mary, letting the both of you have your moment together.
“First thing tomorrow you’re going to work Elijah, no more worrying about me, you have a business to run”
He chuckled and leaned down to kiss you
“Whatever you want baby, it’s yours”

Tumblr media
HE was fucking pissed. You could tell just by the way he sat there before the fireplace, in the empty Slytherin common room hours past curfew, with his jaw tight and his fists clenched, staring venomously into the flames with the utmost displeasure.
You were cautious as you approached him, getting down on your knees and kneeling beside him on the floor, whilst he sat in the armchair, back hunched, his dark eyes wide and unblinking as they caught a reflection of the flames in the black windows to his soul.
You held a washcloth and a bowl of warm water in your hands, and your fingers slowly grasped his bruised knuckles and completely bloody hands, before you slowly began to wipe away the blood on his hands.
However, the moment your hand made contact with his, his dark, soulless eyes bore into yours, giving you a sharp, venomous glare.
"Don't," he growled, tugging his hand away, shrugging you off completely, gaze piercing through your soul with a glare so lethal, it caused you to allow the washcloth to slip through your fingers and drop to the floor.
You didn't know why he was mad at you, usually he allowed you to clean him up whenever he got into fights.
At the cold, dismissive rejection you faced, you felt your eyes well up the slightest bit, trying so hard not to cry, or let it show on your face.
"But—"
You quickly shut your mouth the moment you spoke, realizing that you did not want to stir the waters of a tide that was already far too strong.
But it was too late. Mattheo had caught your slip up.
"But what?" he scoffed, mocking you, his voice rough and raw, the displeasure that laced his voice almost palpable, causing another whole load of feelings to wash over you in the form of tears that you managed to hold in once again.
Usually, the simple sight of your glazed eyes alone was enough for Mattheo to instantly shower you in affection and cheer you up. You were his princess, his precious darling.
Now, however, he seemed unaffected, slightly amused even, letting out an emotionless scoff at your silence.
"But what, Princess? Fucking spit it out," he demanded, voice low and gravelly, large hand coming to rest around your neck, exerting the slightest bit of pressure and asserting his clear dominance over you, a silent warning for you to continue.
You didn't know why he was being like this, so darn mean. His fingertips were cool against your throat, and would no doubt leave traces of blood against the pale skin of your neck.
"Why are you mad at me?" you whispered, averting your gaze to where your knees rested on the carpeted floor.
Once those words were spoken, it was as if the entire air in the common room shifted, and everything became dark and eerily dangerous.
"Why am I mad at you?" he crooned, mocking you as he repeated your question right back at you, his other hand slowly coming up to your face, the back of his fingers brushing against your cheek as he pressed a little harder into your throat before releasing it. "I don't know, Princess, you tell me..."
"I didn't do anything, Matty, I was just making friends, like you told me to—" you protested, blinking back the unshed tears that clung to your lashes, your wide, doe eyes staring up into those of your boyfriend.
It was no surprise that you weren't exactly a social butterfly. Far from it, actually. Known as the quiet, and shy bookworm from Slytherin, you usually hung around in the library or in quiet places, and it was only a matter of time that Mattheo's eyes fell on you, and you became his latest prize to conquer.
At first, it was merely watching from afar, noticing you, and all the little things you did. From always needing a lollipop whilst writing, or constantly running your middle finger across your brow when reading, Mattheo noticed everything.
Then, it became an obsession.
Then, it became a desire for possession.
And when he finally fulfilled this desire, and you were his, and his alone, the more he got to know you, the more he noticed how introverted you were.
You had no friends, and instantly shied off whenever anyone approached you, and Mattheo decided that he would help you grow more confident.
And today, when some older Slytherin approached you, Mattheo instantly noticed and chased him away, instantly dragging you away to the library.
"Friends, huh?" he seethed, a dry scoff full of irony slipping past his lips. "Oh, Princess, that fucktard didn't want to be your friend... He wanted to be more."
Your mouth opened like a goldfish, and you swallowed as you tried to understand what he had just said.
You hadn't noticed anything about that guy; he had seemed genuine
Before he could explain further, he had already stood up, leaving you alone to ponder his words, and was walking towards the steps that led to his dorm when you stood up and trailed after him, your hand grasping his elbow softly, pulling him towards you.
"Where are you going? What did I do? Why are you mad at me?" you asked, the tears finally spilling down your cheeks at the casual dismissal in his body language.
At his words, he spun around, his gaze sharp, piercing, his eyes blacker than ink as they bored into you with conviction.
"Because you're mine!" he growled, possession dripping from his words as he spoke, the vein underneath his jaw pulsing as his blood pumped through it rapidly. "Solely... mine!" he hissed, his voice low and rough as he leaned to speak into your ear, the heat of his breath warming your ear. "Is that clear, or do you need more to understand?"
Your expression was blank, and you wiped your tears, yet you made no show to indicate you had understood his statement, only angering him further.
"Looks like you need reminding, who you belong to," he tutted, his bruised hand grasping your shoulder and holding you mounted against the wall, his other bloody hand yanking up your skirt and exposing the delicate, sensitive skin on your thighs.
You gasped audibly at the adrenaline rush that filled you when you realized that anyone could walk into the empty common room and see you like this. You tried to protest, to say something, anything, but words failed you as soon as you felt the cold brush of his rings against your skin.
You whimpered softly
His index finger slowly raked across the damp lace of your panties, a dark chuckle leaving him as he flicked your folds through the fabric, causing you to whimper at his touch.
Hi dragged his hand across your inner thighs, painting them red, smearing the blood from his bruised and bloody knuckles all over your thighs, a visual reminder of the guy he had just beaten up for you.
"Matty— what.. what are you doing?" you finally got the courage to whisper, your throat tight, and your voice low. "A-any-anyone can walk in—"
He didn't answer you, ripping your panties off in one move and shoving them into his pocket— he would most definitely jerk off with them later on.
The cool air hit your sensitive folds, sending a jolt of arousal through you as you let out a sharp cry when you felt Mattheo insert a finger into your tight, little hole, his ring adding a cool splash to the slightly stinging flesh.
It was only when he grunted slightly, in pain, that you realized he was doing this with his bruised knuckles and broken fingers, the ones he had used to beat up that other guy.
Your eyes widened and you gasped, and a cry ripped from your throat when you felt him shove two fingers into your slick heat, your juices dripping down his fingers, mingling with the blood and sliding down to curl around his wrist.
"F-fuck, M-matty," you whimpered, squeezing your eyes shut at the pleasure that threatened to overwhelm you, your knees buckling and threatening to give way, if it weren't for his other hand that held you up.
He hiked one of your legs to wrap around his waist, his fingers curling and scissoring inside your heat. You nearly exploded with pleasure when he added a third finger into your pussy, but he quickly retracted his fingers before you could reach your high.
"This pretty little cunt belongs to me," Mattheo declared, shoving them back in roughly and pumping his fingers in and out of your hole, your walls clenching and unclenching around his fingers involuntarily. "Is that clear?"
Your moans echoed in his ears, and you nodded, your back pressed against the cold stone of the wall as your hands found a position in his hair.
You were completely gone, lost in the delicious way his long fingers penetrated your tight hole, in the way they curled around just the right amount to reach that fleshy spot that made you see stars.
You could feel the pressure buildup, and you could hear the sounds of your slick walls clenching pitifully around his fingers, as his eyes bored into you like a man possessed, taking in every bit of your reaction.
"That's it, make a mess on my hand, Princess— so fucking needy..." he muttered, bringing his mouth down to gently bite into your neck, sending shivers down your spine.
"I know you're so fucking close, do it— I want to feel you clamp around my fingers, so it— cum all over them..."
And God, with a shattering cry, you did. You tugged at his hair as your orgasm crashed through you, and your vision blackened, the surroundings replaced with colored dots.
You could barely hear your own cries, you had no sense of what you were saying or doing.
And all throughout your high, his fingers didn't relent, until your breathing slowed.
Mattheo brought his fingers to your lips, shoving them onto your tongue and forcing you to suck, giving you no choice in the matter.
"Lick it, every, single drop," he ordered, his dark eyes staring at you with amusement, watching your tongue trace all over his fingers as you lapped up your release and a mix of the blood that coated his fingers. "Don't you dare waste any..."
"Good fucking girl," he muttered, once his fingers were clean, retracting them from your mouth. "Next time, think carefully before giving your number to any Tom, Dick and Harry, alright?"
You nodded, too dumbfounded to do anything else.
His expression softened, and he slowly dropped a kiss to your forehead, smoothing down your skirt and patting the tiny bulge in his pocket, where your crumpled up panties rested.
"Goodnight, Princess."
And then he was gone, and when you slipped out of your daze, you caught sight of his dark curly hair as he ascended the stairs, before he disappeared out of sight.

Bowling - jegulus - server microprompt challenge - word count: 364
“Right, so…you just put your fingers in the holes here,” James said patiently, showing Regulus how he’d put his third and fourth fingers in the two holes of the huge blue ball.
“That’s what she said!” Barty Crouch called from where he was sitting in the seats with Evan, Sirius, Remus, Lily, Pandora, Peter, Dorcas, and Marlene.
Regulus rolled his eyes and shot Barty a finger before focusing again. “Alright,” he murmured softly, mimicking James’s position and picking up an orange ball of his own.
“Then,” James continued, smiling fondly, “you just…” and he walked forward quickly, swinging his arm back in a giant arc before letting it go to roll it down the aisle.
All of their friends cheered when he was able to knock down four of his remaining five pins.
“Okay,” Regulus nodded, looking a bit nervous.
“D’you want me to help you?” James offered softly.
The shorter man gave a small smile, shifting from foot to foot. “Sure.”
Grinning to himself, James moved behind Regulus, winding an arm around his waist and placing his hand over the one Regulus was using to hold the ball. Ignoring Barty, Evan, and Sirius’s wolf-whistles and trying to focus on being helpful rather than the way he was pressed to closely to the other man, he whispered into Regulus’s ear, “Like this, love,” as he moved Regulus’s arm back and then forward, stopping just at the point Regulus should release the ball.
Eyes full of emotions that had nothing to do with bowling, Regulus turned to him. “Thanks,” he mumbled, licking his lips.
James stepped back, mentally shaking himself and reminding himself he was in public, before giving his boyfriend a thumbs-up.
Regulus then took a few steps back, walked forward quickly, and rolled the ball down the aisle only to knock down every single pin.
All of their friends instantly went wild, screaming and cheering as James gaped, sure he was dreaming. Regulus had never been bowling before. How-
But then Regulus walked forward, an evil smirk on his face. “Thanks for teaching me, Jamie,” he whispered as he walked by, hand tracing over James’s shoulder, voice as smooth and sweet as honey.

Yandere Male Butcher X G/N Teacher Reader
Trigger warnings! Yandere behaviour, Violence, Someone tries to touch the reader, a tad of stalking socials,This is all fictional! I don't condone toxic behaviour!
Now what a bizarre pairing, I feel like I should give some context lmao. Now shall we indulge in this fantasy?
🫀Yandere Butcher who divorced his ex wife two years before meeting you, After the divorce it was just Him and his son.
🫀I cannot explain why but Yandere Butcher's son is very alternative. Which there's nothing wrong with that! But wearing studded bracelets and battle jackets (I've also seen the called battle vests so if one is more commonly used let me know -Jay) into school meant Yandere Butcher gets called a lot.
🫀Yandere Butcher who was expecting the same old moody tutor not you...
🫀Yandere Butcher who is massive, I'm talking 6'4, Covered in tattoos from his early adulthood and a man bun that a hair tie is clinging to dear life keep up. That makes it very intimidating for you to explain the issues.
"Erm...Mr-" you start but Yandere Butcher cuts you off. "Listen cut the official stuff call me Isaiah, yeah? I'm getting called here more times then I'm selling turkey's at Christmas. What did he wear this time? The 'kill all cops' top? Or that bloody devil necklace?" You're a bit surprised. His thick southern accent was attractive if you allowed yourself to be honest for a second.
"It was just a bit of eyeliner. I'm going to be honest from the other teachers experiences it's not that bad but I have to report it." You say craning your neck up to look up at him. "I'm not trying to be rude but... couldn't you of just called, emailed even?" He said fixing his posture. "If it was just that then yes. I erm... wanted to ask about you. If that's okay?"
🫀Yandere Butcher who was stunned.
"About me?" He tilts his head. "I'm aware you're a single parent, I'm not judging! I was just wondering if you needed any extra support?"
🫀 Yandere Butcher was even more stunned! You cared? Nobody really cared that much about him. He was just Isaiah, the grumpy butcher, the divorce dad or the guy you wanted on your team on quiz night at the pub. Everyone assumed he was fine, that he was a 'real man'.
"Don't worry about me, I'll be fine." Yandere Butcher who had to wait till he was in his truck to allow himself to smile
🫀 Yandere Butcher who dug up anything and everything he could about you online. Yandere Butcher that was ecstatic when he found out you were single.
🫀 Yandere Butcher who made his kid work at the butchers at the weekend if he misbehaved in your class. His son never saw him care so much about anyone like the apart from him and his mother. (an till she was found in another man's bed)
🫀 Yandere Butcher who was at the pub on Friday night while his son was at a sleepover. Beer in hand, he talked to the locals about nothing and everything. He would never admit it but it was always a highlight of his week.
🫀Yandere Butcher who almost chocked when he saw you come into the pub. You were in casual clothes with a few friends and you looked utterly adorable to him.
🫀Yandere Butcher who clocked and grabbed some random guys hand before he could try and touch you. The stranger got kicked out for his actions and the locals asked if you were okay.
🫀Yandere Butcher who was surprised when you hugged him. "Thank you!" You cheered, a faint smell of alcohol was on your breath.
🫀Yandere Butcher who let you sleep on his couch that night. He sat on a chair near by and watched you sleep. You figure raising and falling, you were so fragile, so sweet.
🫀 Yandere Butcher who is way more aware of plant based diets then people would give him credit for so made you a fruit salad for breakfast. Strawberries, blueberries and more fruits as sweet as you.
You were so embarrassed. "Please forgive me,I promise I usually don't drink so much." You say pushing the fruit around your bowl. " Don't worry you were stressed that night." He said crouching down to your level, you noticed his eye bugs. "I didn't keep you up ,did I?" You say with a pouty lip. "What? No, I never sleep when my kids are doing god knows what at a sleepover. You've seen how they are in school, imagine what they do when they don't have you to keep them in line." He said while putting a hand on your shoulder. You smile a little a faint blush on your checks.
What you didn't know is as you slept Yandere Butcher shoved that pig who tried to touch you in his massive meat freezer that was getting cleaned. "You wanna act like a pig? I'll fucking cut you like one" by the time he visited the freezer again, he needed a black bag, saw and some bleach. He wasn't worried about getting caught because his most important people where at school. His little troublemaker being taught by his angel.
Two Fics in one day!? The world's gone mad! Lmao I hope posting twice doesn't ruin any engagement because I'm quite proud of this one. I must admit my art blocks been quite bad so if anyone wants me to attempt to draw my oc's please vote!

Silver Glow of Moonlight.
pairings: finnick odair x reader
summary: finnick finds comfort in your arms after waking up from a nightmare. (based on a req!)
warnings: hurt/comfort, heavily mentions of prostitutions!! the usual hunger games
word count: 3.7k
Tumblr media
You and Finnick go back a long way, your lives once running parallel like boats tied to the same dock. Both children of fishermen, both raised on the same windswept shores, and both products of the same weather-beaten district school. It was inevitable, really—how the two of you ended up as friends, bonded over sunburnt afternoons and saltwater in your hair.
But that friendship, like most things touched by the Capitol, didn’t survive for long. When Finnick won the 65th Hunger Games at just fourteen, it felt like the boy who used to yank you out of your house just to see who could catch the biggest fish didn’t come back. Or maybe he did, but not in one piece. The Capitol cheered for their bronze-haired darling while you watched the light drain from someone you once knew. The arena didn’t just kill twenty-three tributes that year—it buried Finnick too, just in a different way.
After that, he shut you out completely. Wouldn’t talk to you, wouldn’t even look at you. It was as if whatever thread tied you to him had been cut clean through. You drifted apart like a boat slipping quietly from its moorings, vanishing into open water.
And strangely enough, it didn’t destroy you the way you thought it might. Maybe it was because, deep down, you’d already mourned him the second his name was drawn. Because how could a boy who spent his days spearfishing in the shallows and racing you along the beach possibly survive the carnage waiting in that arena? You’d made peace with losing him long before the cannon sounded.
But tides are strange things. They go out, yes—but sometimes, they come back in. And by the time you turned seventeen, Finnick had returned to your life like the sea reclaiming what it once lost.
You remember that day in piercing detail. The way the air seemed to split open as your name was pulled from the reaping bowl. The stunned silence that followed. The sand clinging to your feet as you staggered toward the stage, every step heavy with dread. The look on Finnick’s face as he stood among the crowd, pale and sick, like someone had reached inside his chest and yanked something vital out. You remember your mother’s sobs, wild and raw, and your father’s arms straining to hold her back as Peacekeepers pulled them away.
Everything after blurred together into something distant and warped, like trying to recall a nightmare through fog. But even through all that, there were moments you remember with painful clarity—like the way Finnick seemed to breathe life back into your fading memories. He was everywhere in those first days, relentless in his efforts to prepare you, to give you even the slimmest chance. Advice poured out of him in frantic waves, strategy after strategy until your mind felt like it might split. Mags had to physically drag him away at times, gently reminding him that even soldiers need rest.
And then came the morning of your departure. The sky was wide and painfully blue, the sun casting long streaks of gold across the rooftops of the Tribute Center. A hovercraft hummed quietly, waiting just beyond the edge of the platform. Peacekeepers stood nearby, silent and stiff. You remember your heart pounding so loud it nearly drowned out the sound of your name being called. And Finnick—he was there, waiting for you beside the metal steps, his expression strained and tight, like he was barely holding himself together.
He didn’t speak right away. He just looked at you—really looked at you—with something like desperation burning behind his eyes. And when he finally spoke, it wasn’t the soft reassurance you expected. It was firm. Fierce. He told you that if you wanted to survive, you couldn’t just try. There was no room for hesitation or half-measures. You had to fight. You had to want it so badly it burned through every bone in your body. He told you he’d do everything he could to protect you—but only if you swore, right then and there, that you wouldn’t give up.
And you did. You promised him, with dry lips and shaking hands, that you would survive.
You kept that promise. You made it back. Crowned victor of the 68th Hunger Games, still gasping for air, still blinking away the blood and the lights and the thunder of Capitol applause. Still too young, still too stunned, still foolish enough to think that survival meant freedom.
But Finnick knew better. He’d seen how Snow worked—how he waited, patient as a snake in the grass, until cracks began to form. And despite everything Finnick had done to shield you, Snow found his way in. All it took was one carefully delivered threat, one whispered promise of death, and the walls Finnick had built around you crumbled. Just like that, Snow reached you. And once he had you, he didn’t let go.
Snow exploited you in ways you can barely bring yourself to say, the kind that digs into your bones and never really leaves. But the one that broke you completely came the day he asked—no, ordered—you to attend to a special client of his. You should’ve known better. Should’ve said something to Finnick. Should’ve run, screamed, fought—but it was too late. The damage was done. And there was no undoing it.
You never told Finnick. Not because you didn’t want to—but because you couldn’t. You were too ashamed. Too furious with yourself for being so stupid, so blind. How could you not see the signs? How could you not understand what Snow really meant with his polished words and polite smile? Maybe he was right. Maybe you were too naive for this world. Too soft. Too foolish.
And so you kept quiet. You endured. Night after night, you were passed around like a prized possession, warming beds that smelled of wine and power and violence. The pain they gave you wasn’t always physical, but it lingered deeper than any bruise ever could. Your clients didn’t just take their pleasure—they stripped you of everything: your pride, your voice, your sense of self. Until you were left staring blankly at the ceiling above rich satin sheets, unmoving, numb, praying to whatever gods might be listening that they would take you in your sleep and be done with it.
When Finnick found out, it wasn’t because you told him. He wasn’t supposed to know. Not yet—not ever, if you had your way. But Finnick had always been too perceptive for his own good. He knew something was off the second you stepped off the train after a three-month stay in the Capitol. That length of time, that kind of assignment—he didn’t need to ask. He’d been there before. He knew what it meant.
He didn’t push. He never asked directly. But he watched, closely. You couldn’t take a breath without feeling the weight of his gaze. He hovered like a ghost—quiet, relentless. He knew. Even if you never said it, he knew.
It all unraveled the day he caught you off guard.
You thought he was gone, finally distracted or pulled away—but he wasn’t. Finnick had come back, maybe to ask if you’d eaten, maybe just to see your face again. He hadn’t meant to barge in. But he did.
And there you were—half-dressed, your shirt slipping off your shoulder, exposing skin that should have never seen the light. His expression shifted instantly, from surprise to something darker. His eyes dropped, locking onto the marks scattered across your body like stains on porcelain.
“Who did this to you?” His voice was quiet, controlled, but laced with a rage that made the room feel colder. He stepped forward slowly, eyes scanning each bruise, some still raw and purple, others fading yellow like dying stars. His hands hovered near you but never touched—until you flinched.
That was what did it. That single, involuntary recoil. The way you pulled away from him, like he might hurt you too. It shattered something in him. You could see it on his face—the heartbreak, the betrayal, the helplessness.
You tried to speak, but the words tangled in your throat and collapsed into a sob. The dam broke without warning. Your knees hit the wooden floor with a harsh thud, and all at once the grief came pouring out, shaking your body with the kind of cry that made your chest burn. Finnick dropped beside you without a second thought, gathering you into his arms, careful, gentle, as if you might break beneath his touch. He held you close without pressing too hard, arms curled around you like he could shield you from every memory.
That night, a silent understanding formed in the spaces between each whispered truth. You told him everything. Every bitter detail. Every horror that came after your victory tour. There was no point in holding anything back anymore—what dignity did you have left, when it had already been stolen from you by hands that touched and claimed you like property?
Finnick didn’t flinch. Instead, he told you his truth too, peeling away the mask he wore so effortlessly. And it floored you—because you never expected it. Never imagined that Finnick, with his charm and bright Capitol smile, was carrying the same weight. But he was. He always had been. You cried for him too, the way he cried for you, and the two of you stayed there on the cold floorboards, tangled together, broken and bleeding and finally seen.
As time passed, so did the tide. It always pulled deeper, sometimes farther than you thought it ever would—but it always returned to the shore. That’s how you came to understand your relationship with Finnick. A constant ebb and flow, shaped by trust and the quiet vulnerability you shared in the hollow of sleepless nights, when the nightmares clung so tightly to your chest that you couldn’t bear to close your eyes.
You and Finnick moved like one. Attached at the hip—where he went, you followed, and where you stumbled, he steadied you. Always watching each other’s backs, always circling just close enough to keep the Capitol guessing. It wasn’t just habit—it was survival. And it worked. Most of the Capitol’s elite tired of your closeness, irritated by the way you hovered over one another like a pair of stubborn shadows. But some—most, in fact—found it thrilling. They took pleasure in watching you both, fascinated by the way you moved in rhythm, in step, as if you were made from the same breath. There was a kind of beauty in it, they said. A kind of chemistry. And that only made the offers more frequent, more invasive.
There were nights when one of you came back from a meeting quieter than usual—eyes glassy, shoulders rigid, mouth set in that too-still line. Neither of you ever had to ask. The other just knew.
Sometimes, it was Finnick who would come in, jaw clenched so tightly it looked like it might crack. He’d drop his coat onto the floor without a word, his hands trembling just enough for you to notice. You wouldn’t ask what happened. You’d just rise from the edge of the bed and walk over to him, pulling his hands into yours, guiding him to sit. You’d wash the glitter off his face with a damp cloth, even if it wasn’t yours to clean, murmuring small things—pointless things—just to fill the silence. He wouldn’t speak, not at first. He’d just watch you, his gaze softening like waves retreating from the shore. And when he finally lay down beside you, he’d press his forehead to your shoulder and whisper, “I’m okay,” like it wasn’t a lie.
Other times, it was you. You’d return to your shared suite on unsteady legs, the Capitol perfume still clinging to your skin like rot. Finnick would be waiting—he was always waiting—and the moment you stepped inside, his expression would change. He never said your name. He didn’t have to. He just pulled you into his arms before the mask slipped off your face. He held you through the shaking, through the tears you refused to let fall until the door was closed behind you. He never asked you to talk, but he’d stay up all night if you needed him to. Sometimes you just lay there in silence, your head on his chest, counting each breath like it might steady the ache inside you.
There were moments in public, too—subtle things that no one seemed to notice unless they were watching closely. When a client reached too far, too fast, Finnick’s hand would already be at your lower back, gently guiding you away under the pretense of a dance. When someone whispered something cruel in Finnick’s ear, your fingers would brush his knuckles, anchoring him before he could react. Sometimes it was a glance across the room. A nod. A hand on the knee under a long tablecloth. Little things that said: I’m here. I see you. I won’t let them break you.
And they tried. Oh, they tried.
But the Capitol never really understood that you weren’t just two victors thrown together by convenience. You were tethered—by pain, by shared nightmares, by promises whispered into the dark and sealed in blood. You didn’t just survive together. You endured. You healed, in the only ways you could.
Sometimes, healing looked like Finnick drawing a warm bath for you and sitting just outside the tub with his back turned, humming some old tune from home until your breathing evened out. Sometimes it looked like you helping him wash his hair, your fingers gentle against his scalp while he sat half-awake, too tired to speak but grateful beyond words. Sometimes it was curling up together in silence, his thumb tracing the scar along your collarbone, your hand pressed over the steady beat of his heart.
It was never perfect but it was real. And in the world you were forced to live in, that was the only thing that ever felt like home.
Tumblr media
It had been a while since you and Finnick shared a bed. The nightmares weren’t as relentless as they used to be—not since you both returned to District 4 two months ago. Slowly, quietly, you’d begun slipping back into the dull rhythms of everyday life. No more scrambling for weapons in the dark. No more waking in a cold sweat after a night with a client. Things were a bit calmer now, still fragile, but no longer constantly unraveling. And that peace gave you both room to breathe, to exist separately. Nights like this had become more common—alone, but not lonely.
You knew Finnick was just a few doors down, staying in the room by the end of the hallway. He liked sleeping near the window, where the ocean was visible from the moment he opened his eyes. You, on the other hand, stayed near the stairs—instinct, mostly. In case something went wrong. In case someone came. That paranoia never really left you. You weren’t sure it ever would. Even now, in the safety of your district, knowing that no one could reach you here, the dread lingered. Because how could it not, when you lived with a president who preferred to gut people slowly—with favors and secrets instead of blades?
You were halfway lost in thought when the soft creak of your door pulled you back. Your head snapped up on instinct, breath caught in your throat, heart thudding.
But it was only Finnick.
Relief bloomed in your chest the moment you saw him, his figure framed in the moonlight like a ghost coming home. You hadn’t heard his footsteps in the hall, which made your pulse stutter in that split second of confusion. He’d always been quiet, but tonight he was silent in a way that made your skin prickle.
“Finnick?” Your voice came out low and hoarse, rough from hours spent saying nothing, staring at the ceiling, sinking into memory.
“Hi,” he murmured, and the word cracked a little at the edges. Tired. Strained. Something wasn’t right.
You squinted through the dim light to get a better look. He stood just inside your doorway, shoulders curled inward like he was trying to make himself smaller. His hands fidgeted with the doorknob behind him, and his weight shifted restlessly from foot to foot. His head hung low, bottom lip caught between his teeth.
“Finnick,” you said again, sitting up, concern sharpening your tone.
That’s when his eyes finally lifted to yours, and you saw it.
The wild panic still swimming behind them. The dazed, unfocused look that came after a nightmare—the kind that clung to him long after he woke. The moonlight caught on his cheek, and you saw the dried salt lines trailing down from his eyes.
You didn’t hesitate. You reached out your hand.
He didn’t move at first. Just looked at you like he wasn’t sure he was allowed. Like he might break whatever fragile peace the two of you were keeping tonight. But when you wiggled your fingers again, urging him closer, he caved.
He moved quickly after that—long, purposeful strides across the room. The bed dipped beneath his weight as he slid in beside you without a word. The comforter shifted as he pulled it over his body, fitting against you like he never left. His head found its place on your chest, just over your heart, and you let your arm wrap around his shoulders. Your fingers found their rhythm—slow, soothing circles against his skin. His breath hitched once, then settled.
And in that quiet, where only the beating of your heart filled the room, he let himself fall apart in your arms without saying a single word.
You feel the rise and fall of Finnick’s chest against your side, the way he breathes through his nose slowly, as if he’s trying to calm a storm that’s already passed but left wreckage behind. His fingers curl slightly into your shirt, holding just enough to feel anchored, but not enough to cling. You don’t speak at first, letting the silence settle around you like fog rolling in from the sea.
Eventually, he shifts. Just barely. His voice is soft, muffled against your skin.
“I hate when it feels real,” he murmurs.
You don’t need to ask what he means. You’ve been there, too—caught in those dreams where the Capitol drags you back into its velvet cage and paints your smile in blood.
“What was it this time?” you ask gently, keeping your hand moving, never stopping.
He pauses, like the words are stuck in his throat. Then, slowly, “You weren’t here.”
You blink, surprised, but you don’t say anything yet. He keeps talking, voice growing quieter with each word.
“They took you somewhere. Somewhere I couldn’t get to. I kept looking, but every hallway led back to that stupid white room with the glass floors. I could hear you screaming, but I couldn’t… I couldn’t move.”
You press your hand a little firmer against his shoulder, grounding him. “I’m here,” you whisper. “I didn’t go anywhere.”
Finnick lets out a shaky breath, his hand fisting gently in the fabric of your shirt.
“I know. I just—” He swallows. “It felt like it did when I thought I lost you. After your first client.”
You close your eyes for a moment. That memory, heavy and cold, settles in your chest like a stone. There are things that don’t need to be said aloud anymore. Not between the two of you. They live in the quiet between heartbeats, in the way your hand doesn’t stop moving, in the way Finnick presses himself closer to you like he needs proof you’re not going to vanish the moment he falls asleep again.
“I’m not going anywhere,” you tell him. “And if they try to take me again, they’ll have to go through you first.”
That earns the faintest huff from him, something caught between a laugh and a scoff.
“They’d have better luck wrestling a shark,” he mumbles.
You smile faintly, tilting your head so your chin rests atop his hair. “That’s the spirit.”
There’s another pause, then his voice, quiet again: “Promise me.”
Your hand stills for a moment. Then you start again, even slower, more deliberate.
“I promise,” you say. “But only if you promise too.”
Finnick shifts, just enough to look up at you. His sea-green eyes are dull, tired, but filled with something deeper—something heavy and real. He doesn’t say it out loud, but he doesn’t need to.
His fingers gently squeeze your side.
You feel him begin to loosen, the tension easing from his body piece by piece, like waves pulling back from the shore. His breathing evens out against your chest, his arm settling around your waist more heavily now, no longer braced like he’s ready to fight his way out of the dream.
“I used to think the worst part was the pain,” he murmurs after a long pause, his voice slurred slightly with fatigue. “But it’s not. It’s the quiet. The quiet after.”
You hum softly, fingers brushing through his salt-tangled hair, nails lightly grazing his scalp the way you know soothes him best. “The quiet makes it real.”
Finnick nods faintly, barely moving. “It’s when I remember the names.”
Your hand pauses, then continues. “You don’t have to say them tonight.”
“I know,” he mumbles. “But they’re loud sometimes.”
You don’t answer. There’s no fix for this, no magic words that’ll unmake what’s already been done. All you can do is offer your body as shelter for the storm he carries. You press a soft kiss into his hair.
“You’re safe, Finnick. I’ve got you.”
He doesn’t respond right away. Then, barely audible, a whisper shaped by exhaustion:
“I like your heartbeat.”
You blink, lips parting, but no words come. He’s already sinking, eyelids fluttering once, then again, before they stay shut for good. His breath warms your skin in slow, even intervals. The weight of his body becomes heavier, less tense, completely at ease.
In the silver glow of moonlight, his features soften. The lines between his brows fade. His lips, slightly parted, twitch with the remnants of something dreamlike—something quieter than nightmares. Something gentler. Maybe your heartbeat, maybe not.
You don’t dare move. You let him stay curled against you, counting the rise and fall of his chest and the way his hair tickles your collarbone.
And as the quiet finally settles into comfort instead of dread, you find yourself whispering the words you didn’t get to say earlier.
“I like yours too.”

See You Again
In which: Sae Itoshi knew what he wanted from the beginning. He wanted to be a professional soccer player, and to play alongside those who weren't a waste of time (well according to him). Unbeknownst to Sae, a little birdie told him that you, a childhood friend of his, would be in Spain for the next three years. He didn't think he'd ever see you again, especially not after your, not so peaceful falling-out. But who knows what might happen when he comes face to face with you again? (2.0k wc)
an: This is 4 years after the start of the first selection, so Sae is around 22 years old. In this timeline, Sae and Rin have made up (because I said so) and he has returned to Spain to continue playing. I put this with the U-20 team because the only other person I know of that was on the Spainish team is Luna, sooooooo idk idk. Reader is fem, and is a university student in film studies. Enjoyyyy!(might make multiple parts)
His POV
January 1st, 2022
The New Year, god he hated the New Year. What is so special about a new year? It's just another 365 days to spend, what is so different that you must celebrate so loudly. Sae was just a little bit grumpy that all he could hear was loud music, drunkenly cheers, and laughter all night long.
Sae was meticulous about his night routine, he would work out, shower, brush his teeth, wash his face, set his hair, put on his sleep mask and then pass out. Unfortunately for his teammates, he couldn't sleep properly that night, so now everyone must suffer. Luckily, practices were called off for the week, for new years, and weather reasons.
'no practice' is not a thing to Sae, even if they were called off, he would still be at that field. So there he was 6:00 AM on January 1st, practicing alone. He didn't mind being alone, he was more than used to it. But sometimes, even just for a split second, he forgets that there was a time where he wasn't truly lonely. That split second eats at his mind like that plague, he hated how vulnerable it made him feel, so he would act like it never happen.
January 5th, 2022
When he wasn't at the field practicing or at home watching clips, he would be found at the little family cafe down a couple blocks from his penthouse. He would go there after an early morning jog, and order the same thing. An unsweetened iced matcha with a yogurt fruit bowl, he liked it because it didn't fill him up too much before a practice.
That morning at practice in locker rooms, he overheard something...interesting. He couldn't give a crap about anything Aiku had to say, but this was the only time he was truly listening.
"A close friend of mine is coming back for some time, she hasn't told me how long she's going to stay, but she's studying here."
Out of curiosity, Sendou asks,
"What's her name? Is she hot?"
"Why is that the first thing you think of? She's pretty but thats so weird to say. Her name is [y/n]."
"Well my bad! Its not like i'm going to try, I'm going to date a hot actress."
The groans let out in that room echoed from wall to wall, but Sae on the other hand broke character. Sae is know for his neutral, cold demeanor, but hearing your name clashed against the chink in his armor, and was enough for the walls to come crashing down.
November 27th, 2017
His POV
God, what a drag. Why was Rin so damn persistent on that dream, it wasn't even realistic.
Sae had just won the goal against Rin, and sealed the deal of scrapping that old dream. He had to say, he didn't enjoy saying this to his brother, but if no one was going to be honest with him, who was?
He knew his brother would be at that field, but he didn't know that you would be there.
He turned to look at you, standing there with a shocked expression and teary eyes. He couldn't stand it, why were you looking at him like that? Like he was evil, or something.
You walked closer to the brothers. Sae thought you would walk to him and say something. Maybe a 'Welcome back!' or something that matched your usually cheerful personality. But no, you walked right over to Rin, and helped him up off the ground.
Rin saw you like an older sister, you basically were. You always made sure he took care of himself, even before Sae left. He had immense respect for you, he considered you his best friend.
Rin stared down at you with a heartbreaking expression, tears flowed down his face as he avoided making eye contact with you for too long, he thought it might spare some of his dignity.
Your POV
At first you were shocked, how could Sae do this? Easy answer, this wasn't your Sae.
Your Sae would rather die than ever hurt his little brother, he would never intentionally hurt him. Your Sae would give his younger brother the last popsicle, he would bandage his wounds, he would play with him, protect him from anything or anyone that even tried to harm his precious brother. They were like peas in a pod.
You would know, you and Sae had practically raised Rin. You would pack him and Sae food to eat after playing because they would always forget, and they would always get hangry. They would stop by your house right next door and take you to their games, to get popsicles. You saw how kind Sae truly was, Rin brought out the best in him.
But now, he's changed.
Now you felt anger, unadulterated rage.
You didn't hesitate. Not even a little bit.
You shot a glare at him before marching up to him.
You slapped the everliving shit out of him.
You left a red mark on his face, the hands he used to hold had now hurt him.
The two of you never dated, but you acted like a couple. Just two kids holding hands on the park benches eating snacks, stolen glances and warm cheeks.
Sae was your first love, and you were his first love.
No, scratch that. You taught him love.
He stood there, like a kicked puppy holding his cheek. No expression, just a frown tattooed on his pretty face, the same on he walked in with.
You never yelled at him, until today.
"Sae Itoshi, I don't know what happened to you in Spain, and honestly I don't care right now, but you cannot treat Rin this way!
I don't know who you think you are, maybe that 'Japan's Treasure' title finally got to you, but the audacity is appalling!
You come back after FOUR WHOLE YEARS, you didn't contact Rin or I for three years out of the four.
and the first FUCKING thing you say is say is this lame, no PATHETIC EXCUSE OF A HELLO?
no, you don't get to treat either of us this way, some treasure you are."
That got his attention.
"What did you want me to do? Let him live on with some childish dream? He won't get anywhere dreaming like a toddler. I was busy building my career, not that you would know anything about that."
If you weren't angry before, you were SCATHING now.
You took a breath in, and out.
You wanted to scream, but you knew it would be a lost cause.
"When did you get so cruel?"
...
Thats where the memory ended before Aiku's loud voice snapped him out of his daze. His mind clouded by the vision of her teary eyes.
It couldn't be you right? There could always be another person with the same name, there's no way you could ever be friends with Oliver Aiku.
*incoming call from [name]*
Oliver picked up his phone and answered your call.
"Hey what's up?"
"I'm at the airport right now, can you drop me to my apartment building?"
"I am nothing but a servant to you huh?"
"So dramatic, i'll just take an uber you lazy ass"
Oliver laughs before saying
"No i'm done with practice i'm on my way"
Now he was sure, it was you. He would never forget that voice. The voice that he would wait to hear every night over the phone when he first went to Spain. The voice that brought him comfort when he was homesick. And the same voice that flooded him with guilt for the last 5 years.
a week later ----------------------------------------------------------------
He jogs to his little cafe down the street, same time as usual. He walks in, slightly sweaty.
As he approached the counter, he froze.
"Can I have one sweetened iced matcha and one avocado toast? Thanks!" You smiled as you swiped the card and clicked the 20% tip option before turning around to find a nice table.
When you turned around, you made eye contact with Sae.
It was as if time stood still, or rather time spun backwards.
You hated this, you hated how you turned into that lovesick little girl in his presence, even after five whole years.
You broke eye contact. You weren’t going to let him ruin your breakfast or ruin your stay in Spain. You walked past him to the nice table next to the window.
He walked up to the register and order his usual. He tends to forget that he grew to love matcha because of you, yet another reminder of you.
He grabs his food and sits at the table right next to you.
“You just can’t leave me alone, can you?” You said sharply.
“You’re sitting at the table I usually sit at; this was the next best seat.”
“Still an ass I see” you laughed bitterly.
You sipped on your matcha as you typed away on your laptop, being an exchange student was no joke. You felt Sae’s eyes on your screen.
“What are you studying here?” Sae asked.
You sighed, loudly.
“I’m here for my bachelor’s degree, in film studies.”
“You still want to be an actor? Wow, you haven’t changed.”
You turned to him and glared.
“No, I'm studying to be a director.”
He turned his head to look at you.
"You always talked about how much you wanted to be an actress, what changed?"
You scoffed, how dense can one man be?
"Well people change, you're walking proof."
He sighed, he and Rin had made up years ago, why were you still upset?
"You know Rin and I made up right?"
You stopped typing.
"I know." You said softly.
In all honesty, you didn't know why you were still angry, it was probably bitterness because he didn't reach out in those five years to say anything, but then again you didn't expect him to anyways.
In your mind you felt bad, you shouldn't hold a grudge, especially not for this long, but you'd never admit that out loud.
"How have you been? It's been a while." You said, in effort to reciprocate the conversation.
"Not too bad, what about you?"
"I'd be good if my professor wouldn't assign more than he can grade, but aside from that i'm good."
You smiled awkwardly before turning back to your laptop to type. Sae felt relief, he's never felt this tense about anything.
"How is Rin? Did you see him before coming here?" he asked.
You felt a smile creep up to your lips, you knew he loved his brother.
"I did, he's doing great, he's playing in pro leagues now, watch out though, he might kick your ass."
He almost laughed, you're still the funny and loving girl you've always been. You sat in comfortable silence for the remaining time, but as you got up to leave and say goodbye, he stops you. He writes something down on a notecard that slipped out of your bag.
"Is this your number?"
"Yes, I got a new one back when I got a new phone. Call me if you need anything."
You smiled.
"I will, i'll see you around." You waved at him before walking out of the cafe.
You had only just left, but Sae hopes that you'll call soon.
As he jogs back to his penthouse, he feels his phone vibrate.
Is this Sae? It's {name}
Yes this is Sae.
jeez you text like an old man
Using grammar is being like an old man?
yes
Now I see how you and Aiku are friends.
thats so mean :(
whatever
Oliver told me to come to one of your practices so you might see me there
Okay, see you then.
He felt his chest bubble when he heard you call Aiku by his first name. But, at least he knew when he'd see you again.
xoxo, august

Tumblr media
>> bowling with the mha boys! (incl. izuku, katsuki, eijirou, and denki)
i just got back from bowling w my friends (literally best time ever btw) and i had some thoughts. enjoy! — banner by me w a pic from pinterest, divider by @/anitalenia
Tumblr media
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝚒𝚣𝚞𝚔𝚞 𝚖𝚒𝚍𝚘𝚛𝚒𝚢𝚊 !
he’s naturally quite a good bowler! he doesn’t know his own strength though, so it might take him a few tries to get into his groove. but once he’s going, he’s going, although he might hit the occasional gutter ball bc he literally just chucked it :/ he also has a tendency to over-analyze the game (what else is new?) and your “strategy” (you don’t have one). overall, he’s much more interested in you! he just really likes spending time with you, it doesn’t matter to him what you’re doing. he’ll be cheering you on whether you’re getting all strikes or if you’ve barely managed to hit one pin in a sea of gutter balls <3
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝚔𝚊𝚝𝚜𝚞𝚔𝚒 𝚋𝚊𝚔𝚞𝚐𝚘𝚞 !
i hate to hop on the train that he’s naturally good at everything (which i highly doubt) but unfortunately i do think he’d excel at bowling bc there’s not that much to it tbh. like he’s got the form down (does not give a shit about looking stupid either btw, pointed toe and all) and with his natural strength….yeahhh unless you’re pro, you’re not out-bowling him. sorry pook! he talks a big game throughout and he’ll rub your face in it, but if it genuinely upsets you he’ll grumble a soft little apology with a kiss on your cheek <33 and take you to get dessert “for beating your ass so bad.” i hate him.
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝚎𝚒𝚓𝚒𝚛𝚘𝚞 𝚔𝚒𝚛𝚒𝚜𝚑𝚒𝚖𝚊 !
he’s very enthusiastic!!! but he’s…..not that great of a bowler. he has no technique he just,,,,chucks the damn ball. not even rolls it, just straight up throws it. BUT he’s just there for a good time and to hang out with you <33 it’s a very chill, low stakes game with him. he is however, very invested in the food. he will spoil you rotten with all them delicious greasy bowling alley foods. triple cheese pizza, hot wings, pretzels, soda, slushies, every unholy thing on the damn menu is currently on your lane’s table. the REAL competition with this man is not bowling — but who is going to eat the most wings by the end of the night (spoiler alert: regardless of how many you eat he will eat AT LEAST double)
ᯓᡣ𐭩 𝚍𝚎𝚗𝚔𝚒 𝚔𝚊𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚊𝚛𝚒 !
he’s actually a pretty decent bowler!! although most of it is luck, tbh. he’s either getting strike after strike or endless gutter balls. he’s also the type of guy to be like “this one’s for you bae!” and the ball goes IMMEDIATELY to the gutter. after that he puts up the kiddie rails. i love him. tbh he’s mostly gonna spend the whole time in the arcade trying to win you a plush. and playing games with you bc you’re his pookie-bear <333 he cries when he gets killed in the jurassic park shooting game and you vow to avenge his honor by shooting up the t-rex (he WILL make out with you inside the little video game booth for that)

I blinked and suddenly I had a Valentine
Tumblr media
Author's Note: modern setting, no curses, high school setting. ~1.3k words. Divider credit to @/cafekitsune. Title from the song “Valentine” by Laufey. Rice bear bathing in Japanese curry looks something like this (reddit link). Part of the past lives vignettes series. Thank you for reading!
It’s almost the end of January and you’ve spent the past three weeks at your new school eating alone, either in the classroom or in the cafeteria. You’re too shy to socialize with your peers, who are already well-established in their own social circles. This is what happens when you transfer in with less than three months left of the schoolyear. No one wants to be friends with the new girl, right?
Well, two people prove this theory wrong.
Yu Haibara is the first to approach you in the cafeteria during lunchtime. “Hi there!” he greets, taking a seat across from you, a cheerful smile on his face. You can tell from his aura alone that this is someone easy to get along with. Jovial, optimistic, kind-hearted. You’d normally feel nervous interacting with someone you’ve never met before, but his welcoming presence immediately puts you at ease.
He’s followed by a blonde boy, slightly taller, a bit lanky, and sulking behind him. His name is Kento Nanami. You recognize him from your homeroom, though you’ve never spoken before. Occasionally, he eats his meals there, usually in the back with his headphones in, listening to music, while you’re in the front, indulging in whatever homemade bento box you decide to make for yourself that day. It’s crossed your mind more than once to join him so that neither of you are alone, though you’ve chickened out each time, convinced that he’d rather remain that way than be bothered by a nobody. Unlike Haibara, his lips are pressed together in a natural frown. You don’t sense unhappiness or animosity from him; rather, it’s indifference, apathy. When he sits down next to his pal, he gives you a nod, acknowledging you.
Haibara does the courtesy of introductions. You hold your hand out to him, doing the same. He takes it enthusiastically, beaming at you. “I know who you are. I’m a first-year too!”
It doesn’t strike you as odd that he’s already somewhat familiar with you. Instead, you’re relieved to finally be making friends in this cutthroat environment called high school. After this first meeting, the three of you are inseparable. You get on well with Haibara, who’s an expert at keeping the conversation flowing. Nanami doesn’t say much, though you notice his subtle mannerisms that speak volumes more than what his actual words do. You can tell he admires your homemade lunches each time you uncover them at the table. His eyes light up, marveling at whatever creation you’ve concocted the night before: yakisoba, onigiri, chicken stir-fry. He doesn’t say anything, relying on Haibara to do the complimenting. You appreciate how intently he listens to you, even if he doesn’t have much to contribute. In homeroom, you sneak glances at him when your teacher says something particularly ridiculous, to which you spot the faintest hint of a smile flitting on his lips. And you realize that every time you’re walking beside each other, he makes sure to switch his bag to his arm away from you. Part of you hopes the real reason behind this is to be closer to you, but you try to keep those lovelorn thoughts buried in the back of your mind, being certain that’s not the case.
You eventually find out that Haibara has severe allergies, especially during the seasons of Winter and Spring. He explains how he has to take at least a few days off once a month, sometimes an entire week. Today, he dons a face mask, already anticipating it. “Don’t miss me too much,” he jokes, his bright smile noticeable even behind the mask. It’s February now; the three of you sit together at your regular spot in the cafeteria. Nanami eats his rice bowl in silence while you say to Haibara, “You’re going to miss Valentine’s Day.”
He crosses his arms over his chest, smirking. “I guess the two of you will have to be each other’s Valentines.”
At this, Nanami almost chokes on his food, face turning scarlet. He reaches for his water bottle, which is empty, still clearing his throat as he excuses himself to refill it. When you’re alone, you glare at Haibara, scolding him. “Why would you say that?!”
He shrugs innocently. “What’s the big deal? He likes you.”
Your jaw drops at his surprising statement. You’ve always thought that Nanami tolerates you, but you never truly believed he could ever like you. “What do you mean?”
Haibara blinks at you, as if the answer is so obvious. “He told me about you. Said how you always had the most amazing bento boxes for lunch. How cute your smile was whenever you’d take a bite. He was too shy to talk to you first, so he had me do it. You…didn’t know that?”
You stare at him, shaking your head slowly, stunned by this revelation.
He laughs nervously, scratching his head. “Oops.”
Nanami returns, back to his normal self now, remaining quiet. There’s still the faint blush on his cheeks; you pretend not to notice it. Nothing else is mentioned about Valentine’s the rest of the day, though it lingers on your mind the remainder of the week.
Haibara is out sick February 13th, leaving you and Nanami alone together for the first time since you befriended them. You’re curious to see if the dynamic would change, if Nanami would actually speak up now that his buddy isn’t around to fill the void with his amicable chatter. But lunch ends up being a quiet affair. You do your best to ask questions, start conversation, but he’s even more tense than he usually is. When you mention Valentine’s Day tomorrow, the familiar rosy tint spreads across his face. You drop it, not wanting to make him uncomfortable, though you can’t help thinking how sweet he is for reacting that way.
He likes you. The words have been replaying in your head since you heard them. And the truth is: you like Nanami too.  Based on what Haibara said, he might be too shy to tell you.
So, you take matters into your own hands.
The next day, February 14th, you come to school carrying a box wrapped in red ribbon. Inside homeroom. You greet Nanami politely, catching the way his gaze drifts to your hands. You smile wider to yourself, excited to present it to him later. At your seat, you can smell the decadent scent of homemade chocolates and heart-shaped candies from the other girls in your class. You get increasingly nervous about the gift, wondering if he’ll receive it well. Still, it’s worth a shot.
When class is over and it’s time for lunch, Nanami waits for you near the door to walk to the cafeteria together. Ready to leave, you stop him, clearing your throat before you announce, “I have something for you.”
His eyes widen, his jaw clenches. It’s obvious he wasn’t expecting this.
You don’t hand it to him, afraid he wouldn’t know what to do with it. Instead, you untie the ribbon yourself, uncovering it. Inside is the bento box you prepared special for him. “I made this for you. Happy Valentine’s Day, Nanami.”
He reaches inside, holding the bento in his hands like found treasure. He snaps the cover off slowly, revealing rice balls formed into a cute bear, bathing in Japanese curry. A sheet of seaweed cut into a heart is placed directly in the center.
You watch him for his response, heart racing against your chest. He inspects it carefully, his expression softening to one of adoration. When he looks at you, he smiles, and you swear you’ve never seen anything more beautiful than Nanami Kento smiling.
“Do you like it?” you ask, needing to hear it in his own words.
He nods, still smiling. “I love it.”
You spend your lunch in the classroom, eating your matching bento boxes together while listening to his music on shared headphones.
For the first time in his life, Nanami has a special Valentine.

Tumblr media
Previously:
You all lay in each other's arms, and you feel incredibly comfortable and safe. Chan's the first to break the silence, "We have five days left until Christmas. What do you say we make some new Christmas traditions? We don't want to replace what you used to have, and you’re entitled to spend your Christmas season as you'd like. But, if you'll let us, we’ll give you something to look forward to about the holidays again. Please?" The guys are all looking at you now, each of them displaying a face that could rival a sad puppy.
You realize now that there's nothing to be scared of. These are your best friends you're talking about, who want nothing but to shower you in love and happiness.
"I'd love that."
Tumblr media
So, the guys set out on their mission early the next morning, figuring they better start as soon as possible. After all, they had so many fun things they wanted to do with you before Christmas Day.
You were abruptly brought out of your peaceful slumber from an added weight landing atop your stomach. You startle, opening your eyes to be met with Hyunjin’s hair brushing up against your cheeks. You try to push him off you, holding up your title of being a grumpy morning person, but he won’t budge.
“Get up!” he whines, shaking your shoulders. “It’s already 8:30, and we can’t just let you sleep all day!”
“I’m not asking to sleep all day. I’m asking to sleep until 10, now please get off,” you struggle some more, pushing with all your might. You quickly give up though, finding your attempts futile against Hyunjin’s size and stubbornness.
“No can do, up and at ‘em sunshine!” he grips your blankets and whips them off you in a flash, leaving you shivering from the cold temperature of your room. He’s quick to throw you over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and he begins to make his way out of your room.
Your fists pound on his back, your only desire to go lay back down in your warm bed. This doesn’t deter him however, so you give him a nice firm smack to his butt, making him yelp. You swiftly wrap your arms around his waist as he lets you slip a little off his shoulder.
“Hwang Hyunjin don’t you drop me!” you yell, holding onto him for dear life.
“I won’t, I won’t. That just hurt really bad, you little menace!” He puts you down once you’ve arrived in the kitchen, and his hands immediately reach back to massage his poor bum.
“Well, that wouldn’t have been necessary if you’d have let me sleep another hour,” you huff, crossing your arms over your chest.
“Ok, no more Ms. Grumpy Pants, I only wanna make cookies with Ms. Sunshine, so if you could please find out where she is, that'd be great,” he retorts, a sarcastic smile taking over his features.
You roll your eyes but give in, allowing your lips to curve up into a genuine smile.
Hyunjin starts to gather the ingredients for making cookies, slamming cupboards left and right. As you busy yourself doing the same, you look up towards the kitchen entryway upon hearing some ruckus from the hallway. Seungmin and Felix practically bounce into the kitchen, looking way too excited for 8:30 in the morning.
Seungmin makes his way over to you, holding an extra apron that he plops over your head, tying it loosely around your waist. “Thanks Minnie,” you tell him, turning around to give his arm a gentle pat.
“Alright, let the memory-making commence,” Felix claps his hands and giving them a quick wash in the sink, reaching for a stainless steel bowl Hyunjin had set on the counter. “If we wait too much longer, everybody else will get up and crash our cookie making party.”
All was going smoothly, the four of you working together and following a recipe Felix had printed out, until Seungmin got a little antsy and decided to flick Hyunjin in the forehead with a flour-covered finger.
Seungmin laughs at seeing Hyunjin’s expression. “Flour boy,” he calls Hyunjin, breaking out in even more giggles.
In retaliation, Hyunjin grabs a fistful of flour and launches it at Seungmin’s face, leaving the poor boy coughing.
Of course, all hell breaks loose after that, and by the end of your food fight, all four of you end up absolutely covered in flour with a single egg plastered against the fridge door.
You guys managed to finish the cookies, having barely enough flour to make the batches. Once they’ve gone in the oven, the four of you decide to go shower and get cleaned up while they bake.
All the other guys have woken up by the time you’re finished with your shower. They’re all sat around the kitchen, the aroma from the cookies no doubt drawing them in. Chan goes over the plans for today, and you smile at his thoughtfulness. After breakfast- a.k.a Christmas cookies- you’re all going to go sledding, then come back to the dorms for dinner and a Christmas movie marathon.
After you’ve all eaten one too many cookies, everyone goes to get dressed for your first group activity of the day: sledding.
You realize you don’t have any appropriate clothing for sledding, the snow sure to seep through the nice coat you have, so you ask Seungmin if he has any extra garments that'll keep you warmer.
"Yea, let me find some really quick," he responds, diving deep into his well-organized closet. He comes up with two pairs of gloves, one slimmer and one thicker, a thermal, long sleeved turtle neck, a hoodie, and a huge winter coat.
"All of this will not fit on my body at once, Seungmin," you comment exasperatedly, overwhelmed by the weight of the clothes he just threw in your arms.
"Yes they will, and you will be warm. Go get dressed, we're leaving in a few minutes," he dismisses your concerns, leaving no room for discussion. He gives you a light push out of his room so he could get himself dressed and shuts the door in your face.
"Thanks!" you shout through the door, heading back to your room to layer up.
After putting on all the clothes Seungmin gave you, you feel like a marshmallow. A big puff ball, if you will.
You walk to the living room where everyone is waiting for you, ready to complain about how you are not going out in public like this.
They are quick to rebut, telling you how adorable you look while pulling you out the front door towards the readied van in the parking lot.
The drive is uncomfortable, all your winter gear making you all hot, everyone fitting a little tighter in their seats than normal. The ride is short, though, only about 10 minutes before you're all allowed freedom of the outside once again.
You let out a small chuckle upon seeing the hill you'll be sledding down. It's small, no taller than 20 feet, but the guys assure you it'll still be fun. Upon some further digging, you find out you're manager requested you partake in absolutely zero dangerous activities during your day off, and this is all the guys could convince him of.
You guys make your way up the hill, Jeongin and Felix dragging the sleds up. To make things more interesting, everyone decides two people will race down the hill at the same time, and the winner will be decided tournament-style.
Chan and Hyunjin go first, and Hyunjin wins by just a few feet. Next is Felix and Minho, and Minho pulls out ahead. Seungmin and Changbin go next, and Changbin wins by default because Seungmin wiped out about half way down the hill. You and Jeongin, being the maknaes, decide to team up against everyone else and ride together. Of course, this doesn't go without complaints from the rest of the members, Hyunjin giving you guys the nastiest side eye he could muster. The maknaes come out on top, beating Jisung by a landslide. Maybe it's because your sled had twice as much weight on it, or maybe it's because you guys are just better; it's up for debate.
By the end of the day, you and Jeongin reign champions. You all continue to sled for a while longer, and eventually your peaceful sledding session turned into a brutal snowball fight.
The culprit of the snowball fight was Minho, deciding it'd be fun to shove a handful of snow down Jisung's jacket. This of course lead to the development of two teams, Maknae line versus Hyung line.
You guys pelt the oldies for a few minutes, obviously gaining the upper-hand once your makeshift snow fort was built, courtesy of Felix and Jisung. However, you guys surrender once Jeongin is captured and threatened with handfuls of snow down his pants.
Once arriving at home, hot showers are in need, all your fingers and toes frozen to the bone. You get dressed in your coziest pyjamas, accompanied by a big hoodie and fluffy socks.
Chan takes it upon himself to order food in for everyone, and you all thank him before deciding on which Christmas movie to watch.
You reveal that one of your favorites used to be How the Grinch Stole Christmas, the Jim Carrey version, and everyone agrees to start with that one.
Your food arrives about a third of the way into the movie, and you all indulge on the much needed meal. You have some more Christmas cookies for dessert, and by the time you're finished with the food, the movie is over.
You all make light fun of Hyunjin for crying over the ending, but allow him to choose the next movie to try and put a stop to his dramatics. He chooses National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation, and you're thankful for another comedy.
While the day has been quite fun, watching movies isn't as thought-provoking as a snowball fight, allowing some of your anxieties and negative thoughts to creep into the back of your mind.
You miss your family. You miss the way your grandma used to sit and listen to all your school drama and the way she'd gasp when you'd tell her what your best friend had done for a boy. You miss the way your father used to buy you a pair of earrings every year for Christmas. You still had every pair, your first being cute little bunny studs, and your last being a beautiful pair of Sterling Silver hoops. You miss your grandfather's sarcastic remarks; your mom found them insulting but you always thought they were funny. You miss your mom. Everything about her- her home cooking, her hugs, the way she'd always know what to put in your stocking.
You know now, after today, that it's okay to miss those things. You're supposed to miss your loved ones. However, it is not okay to live in the past and despise change. Your mom would've wanted you to celebrate Christmas with a family as loving as the one you have here surrounding you. You know she would've loved your members, every single one of them.
She would've loved the way I.N was your partner in crime in life, never backing down when you ask him if he wants to prank Chan with you. She would've loved the way Seungmin acted like your older brother, teasing you every chance he gets. She would've loved how happy Felix is, always acting as your light in the darkness. She would've been proud of Han for fighting through his anxiety and how he helped you with yours, never letting you feel alone. Your mom would've loved Hyunjin's art, the way he paints his soul on paper with a singular brush. Your mom would've been impressed by Changbin's health journey and motivation, and she probably would've secretly convinced him to drag you to the gym with him. Your mom would've admired Minho's gentleness towards animals and his love for his cats. Lastly, your mom would've loved the way Chan takes care of you, always making sure you're happy and well.
Thinking back to yesterday and how thoughtful and caring everyone had been, you decide to tell them your creeping thoughts. They, of course, comfort you, Changbin pulling you closer from your spot between him and Minho on the couch. They ask if you want to elaborate on your feelings, but you tell them no. It had been such a fun day, and for the sake of your mental health, you choose to try and busy your mind with the plot of the movie.
This works in your favor, and you’re able to replace your thoughts with laughter. Towards the end of the film, Changbin's comforting hold has begun to lull you to sleep, too comfortable and warm to keep your eyes open any longer.
"Thank you guys for such an amazing day. I had a lot of fun," you mumble into Changbin's shoulder, pulling everyone away from the movie for a second.
You hear a chorus of coos and whispered affirmations before you officially let sleep takeover your restless mind and body.

first move (?)
cbf!lance x f!reader
Tumblr media
summary : basically you and lance are childhood best friends and one day when he was sitting spread eagle it makes you h*rny and some suggestive stuff ensues.
a/n : inspired by lance sitting spread eagle in that one video. you know which vid i’m talking about. this has been in my notes for so long and it really isn’t written very well but i just thought i should put this out there in case anyone would enjoy it lmao. so,,,, if you’re a lance enjoyer,,,, have fun!
you locked your phone, staring at your reflection as the screen turned dark. qualifying had just finished about half an hour ago and from where you were standing in lance’s motorhome you could still hear the distant cheers outside, undoubtedly celebrating a rare occasion where pole position was a car that wasn’t a red bull. lance had invited you to this race, just like all the other dozens of times you have attended a grand prix weekend. the relationship you have with lance is kind of cute, both of your fathers were long-time friends which meant that you knew lance ever since he was a little boy racing go-karts around montreal. growing up together, you were there when he first won his go-kart championship and he was there to comfort you when you first failed your maths test. a childhood best friends trope at its finest.
more than a decade has passed which has seen both you and lance grow to become a man and a woman. you thought about how lance was no longer a scrawny boy with a bowl haircut. he grew to be a handsome young man, his job requiring him to train religiously and as a result gain muscle. his skinny arms, ones which you used to compare with chicken legs grew thicker, his chest wider, and he soon towered over you. throughout these past few years, you always found yourself staring at his shirtless torso a bit too long during both of your family’s annual yacht trips together. you wanted to cup his face in your hands and at the same time his broad back made you wonder what it would feel like your dig your nails into it. you chastised yourself, how could you have thoughts like that about your childhood best friend? despite that, you weren’t oblivious to the glances lance would give you as well. lance too, noticed your physical changes.
his cheeky teases turned into flirtations and once innocent hugs lingered a bit longer as you both savoured being held by each other. so were both you and lance sort of pining for each other? well, yes. has anyone made a first move? nope. (but maybe that’s going to change now)
lance walked in plopping down on the couch with a huff. his legs were spread and arms on the couch rest throwing his head back
you felt like you were in a trance. your eyes trained on his neck watching his adam’s apple bob trying to catch his breath from his sprint. the sweat on his face was dripping on to the towel he had on his neck. he was always so sweaty after sessions in the car for some reason. your gaze trailed down his body seeing how his fireproofs perfectly hugged his biceps, chest and torso. the longer you stared at his thighs made thoughts made your mind wander about what was beneath his pants. slowly, you felt your face flush. the heat pooling in your stomach was starting to intensify the longer you spent gazing at him.
you broke your trance to find a pair of cheeky brown eyes already staring back. a stupid cocky smirk plastered on his stupid handsome face. obviously, you’ve been caught checking him out.
‘like what you see?’ and so, the teasing game begins
you give him a once over again, trying to sound nonchalant. ‘definitely’ you paused. ‘close your legs before i do something stupid’ you continued, fumbling with your phone to calm down your racing heart.
he let out a laugh. ‘i’m intrigued now. come on, nothing will be too stupid.’ you hear him persuade.
moments pass. were you really going to be the first one to make a move?
fuck it. you placed your phone on the table and walked towards him, never breaking eye contact. stopping in between his legs you gaze down at him. he still has that stupid smile on his face.
staring into his eyes, you slowly start to kneel. your hands place themselves on his knees as you feel the plush carpet underneath your knees. you could see his eyes turn dark and his smile falter. his relaxed posture becomes apprehensive, slowly sitting up at this turn of events. you smile as your hands slide up his legs and place your cheek on his thigh, lips dangerously close to somewhere he would rather them be. clearly, there’s no need to explain what something stupid is.
‘happy now stroll?’ you lilt, seeing his jaw clench at your precarious position.
‘no, show me what you’ve got’ he continues.
giving him your best doe eyes, you bring your lips to the canadian flag printed on the navel of his racing suit. hands still on his thighs, you start kissing each letter of his name printed. you could feel your chin brushing against his crotch every time you shift.
‘how about now?’ you tilt your head looking up at him.
he doesn’t look too happy when he cups your jaw with his hand. ‘teasing isn’t nice you know.’ he says, brushing your bottom lip with his thumb.
you catch his thumb between your teeth as you give it a lick. a teasing glint appears in your eyes, opening your mouth to release his thumb. ‘then don’t start’ you finish, pushing his legs wider as you use the momentum to stand up as you move to amble away.
what a fucking temptress. he curses in his mind. ‘1-0 stroll! it’s your turn to make a move!’ he hears you yell out. just you wait baby, just you wait.

Best Friends Forever (1): Cosmo
[Dandy’s World]
Having a friend is always a pleasant thing, it might make others do anything they can to keep them.
———————————————————————
[Encounter]
You felt pretty hungry, so you decided to head into the Gardenview kitchen area to see if you could grab something to eat. You managed to find some snacks, but it seemed the fridges weren’t going to do you any good…
“Oh! Were you..looking for something to eat?”
You closed the fridge door to see Cosmo standing at the doorway to the kitchen.
Tumblr media
“I-If you want, I could bake something for you! Maybe even teach you a recipe or two!”
Yeah! You didn’t mind the offer as Cosmo got out the necessary bowls and utensils, you were impressed at how well Cosmo knew the process to make sweets, something you let him know about which makes the Toon flustered.
“It’s nothing really! I can still use improvement with these! Could you hold down the mixer for me?”
And when the sweets were made, they were as tasty as you had believed them to be, giving your compliments to the chef, which makes Cosmo laugh softly as he scratched the back of his cake roll head.
“I don’t deserve that. They’re nothing too amazing, I’m still very much learning new things about the recipes every time, I didn’t make them too sweet, did I?”
They were fine!
“Well, if you’re ever feeling hungry again, let me know and I can make something for you! I don’t mind, really!”
———————————————————————
[Something blooms]
After that day, whenever you were feeling the need to grab a bite, you turned to Cosmo and he’d get something made for you.
You hesitate at first since you didn’t want to make it seem like you only went to him for his baking skill, but he reassures you that it’s okay. He actually enjoys wanting to help others and help cheer them up!
This wasn’t enough for you, you wanted to do something for him in return, to let him know that you cared as much as he did! So you headed into the kitchen one night and grabbed the mixing bowl…
“Is this…for me?”
Yep, this crudely made Cosmo shaped cookie you made was for him. That mixer put up a nasty fight, but you didn’t let it stop you from making this for him.
He slowly takes it and takes a bite out of it, humming in glee as he appears to savor the taste.
“I..I love it! This means a lot to me that you went through learning first hand to make me this! I-I promise to return the favor!”
There was no need! You did this because you wanted to return the favor to him for all he’s made for you.
“No, it wouldn’t feel right that I didn’t do the same for you! I’ll make something extra delicious next time!”
———————————————————————
[Best Friends]
“Here, it’s a Sweet Charm. They’re like friendship bracelets and I want you to have one!”
Overtime, Cosmo would grow to be more attentive to your needs then before, now seeming to always have something made before you ask him, let alone feel hungry.
“I made these for you! Please enjoy them, I made them just for you!”
You’d start to feel bad again since it seemed he was baking these frequently, almost constantly at times from the looks of it. Cosmo didn’t mind it, he’d do it if it meant he got to see his best friend happy.
It’s all he ever wants to see. That you were happy, because of him and what he had made.
You’d join him on several occasions to help bake, which never fails to make him more encouraged to make this next batch of sweets great! He expects nothing but the best for you…
———————————————————————
[F o r e v e r]
He’d never let anyone else make something for you, it ruins an opportunity for you to like him even more and he’s anxious of you liking another’s sweets more then his, it puts him on edge!
“Are you making something…for them? Please don’t do that, I’ve tried so hard and I don’t want you to ruin it…”
He’d spend nights trying to making sweets for you, other Toons would spot him and try to convince him to stop for tonight, but he won’t listen…
“S-sleep? No…no, I can’t. I need to finish making these. I have to be ready for when they need them. If it makes them happy, I’m happy too. I never want my best friend to be unhappy…”
Any Toon claiming to be best pals with you will have Cosmo immediately reject that.
“You’re saying you’re their best friend? That can’t be true, I’m their ONLY best friend and it’s staying that way. Please don’t take this from me..”
When he presented you the finished sweets in the morning, they were little cookies of you and him together…
“I made these for you, as a token of our friendship together. One that I want to have forever and ever. You…ARE my best friend…”
“Forever….”

Things I Hate... Oh, and Oranges
Tumblr media
Pairing: Rafe Cameron x Plus size!reader
Characters: Rafe Cameron, Plus size!reader, Topper Thornton, Kelce, Sarah, mentions of the pogues
Warnings: Biggest warning ever, yall ain't ready, their characters aren't as bad here, fluff, rafe being a simp, rafe totally in love with reader, topper and kelce are butt heads in a friend way, not the obx way, Sarah and reader are casual besties, like they did a group project, vibed and have been friends ever since
Word Count: 773
Based on this post
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Sarah told you to come by around this time because no one would be home, and you needed somewhere quiet to study.
She forgot to mention she'd be out with John B.
You don’t mind though; it makes things a little easier since she won’t be around to distract you with her gossip.
-
Rafe walks in and stops as soon as he passes the entrance to the kitchen, wondering if what he just saw was real or not.
He takes a step back and stays in the shadows, watching you.
He brushes a hand through his hair, wondering if he looks okay or if he needs to change his shirt. He looks down and frowns, the blood stain from Barry is visible.
He runs upstairs to change his shirt, wincing at the tingling in his hand. He groans under his breath, “serves him right.”
He doesn’t regret punching his dealer, Barry knows better than to provoke him.
-
You wander around the kitchen, searching for a few items.
You stir up the better by hand, rather than trying to figure out how Sarah’s mixer works. You swear she only bought it so only she could use it and no one else.
A knock on the doorway alarms you causing you to almost spill the contents in the bowl. “Holy- you scared me.”
He chuckles, “sorry, I was- I didn’t mean to.”
You huff and smile, “it’s fine, a little jump start in the heart never hurt anyone.”
He chuckles, “what’re you making?” He takes a seat on the other side of the counter.
“My special bread.”
“I didn’t take you for a stoner.”
Your jaw drops, “I am not.”
He chuckles, “okay, Cheech.”
You shake your head and place it into the cute little bread pan you bought her. “Now we wait.”
His eyes follow you as you sit back down at your little study corner. “What’re doing?”
“Studying, what are you doing?”
“Watching you.”
You roll your eyes, “wouldn’t you rather be out, talking to some cute girl?”
“I already am.”
“Smooth, too smooth on your part, Rafe.” You glance up from your textbook, “did you practice that one in the mirror?”
“I’d rather practice on you.”
“I hate how good you are at this.”
The corner of his lip tugs upward, “I know.”
The ding of timer alerts you.
“Yay,” you cheer while running towards the oven to take it out and take a whiff of the goodness it’s giving off.
“Do you want to try some Rafe?” You ask, cutting into the hot loaf.
“You actually want to share with me?”
“Don’t be like that, Rafe. I’m being nice here and this is how you pay it back.”
He chuckles, “no, give me a slice.”
“Manners.”
He pouts, grabbing a plate and holding it out in front of him. “Please, can I have a slice?”
“Yes, you can, you dramatic little dork.”
“Nothing about me is little.”
You play off the heat in your cheeks as the air emanates off the bread. “Sure, sure.”
-
Kelce and Topper walk in, searching for the sweet scent wafting through the house.
“Yo Rafe,” Kelce calls out.
“In the kitchen.”
“You all speak so kindly to each other,” you tell him.
“Always, baby.”
“What smells so good?” Topper asks, stepping closer to you.
“Did you get a new perfume or something?”
You shake your head, “nope, just made my infamous bread.”
Their eyes practically widen at the sight. “We can’t wait.”
Kelce turns to Rafe and furrows his brow, “I thought you didn’t like orange?”
You turn towards him, seeing as he shoves the last piece of bread into his mouth. “You don’t like orange?”
He tries to argue and tell you he does but can’t as the other two take over.
“Yeah, he’s never been a fan of orange since he was a kid and his dad-” Topper smacks Kelce’s chest, causing the man to wheeze.
“I’m gonna kill you,” Rafe tells them as he takes a sip of water.
You grab his wrist and stop him. “Be honest, Rafe.”
He spins around and stares at you. “When am I not?”
You stare at him with a deadpan expression.
“Okay, I’ll be honest.”
“Do you or do you not like the loaf of bread I made?”
“It’s delicious. You know I think I could even eat it by myself.”
“You’re not lying.”
He shakes his head, “when have I ever lied to you?”
You shrug, “fair enough.”

WIP Wednesday
Tommy heard a knock at the door and frowned. He didn’t have any plans tonight. Originally, he and Evan were going to host a game night and after the break up he couldn’t bring himself to make alternate arrangements. His only plans for the night were demolishing a pizza and six-pack while watching whatever sporting event he could find on tv.
He opened the door and watched in confusion as Evan pushed past him, followed by Hen and Eddie. They were carrying cases of beer, bags clinking with bottles and rustling with chips. They flowed into the kitchen, chatting with each other and completely ignoring Tommy’s outraged huff.
He followed them, watching as they started putting the beer in the fridge, Evan pulling out serving bowls for the chips and Eddie being trusted to open the dips.
“What the hell do you think you all are doing?” Tommy spluttered out.
“Setting up for game night,” Evan answered with a cheeky grin.
“I assumed that was canceled, given the fact that we broke up,” Tommy said firmly.
“Except we didn’t break up and we were not about to give up on everyone being off tonight with a day off tomorrow. It took too long to get this scheduled to cancel it,” Evan said as he continued to arrange cheese, meat and crackers on Tommy’s charcuterie board. A board Tommy only had because Evan had brought it over the first time they hosted game night and had never taken it back.
“Buck, you can’t just invade my house like this,” Tommy protested. “I might have had plans.”
The look Evan shot him was equal parts unimpressed and sardonic. “Do you?”
“Well, no. But still…” Tommy trailed off.
“Then go change out of your sweats and make yourself pretty. The rest of the guests will be here any minute.” Evan shooed him out of his kitchen and Tommy went, confused and off balance.
He walked to his bedroom on auto-pilot and grabbed a pair of jeans and a navy Henley from his drawers. He changed and wandered out of his bedroom to the sound of laughter and chatting.
Entering his living room he saw that Lucy and Nick had arrived to complete the party. He was glad that Nick was there, as the person he counted on to be in his corner, and Lucy as his closest co-worker. Even if she did know the 118 from before, they had bonded when she started at Harbor.
Nick was the only one there he could count on to be wholly his friend. They had met when Tommy was newly out and trying to navigate the intense dynamics of the LA gay scene. They’d met through Grindr and Nick had clocked him right away as being new. To his credit, instead of shutting him down, he’d offered to help. In a lot of ways, Tommy had Nick to thank for helping him bridge the gap between knowing who he was and acting on it.
He can see from Nick’s quirked eyebrow that he has questions about the whole situation they’ve landed themselves in and as the only person there who knows the full story from Tommy’s side he really wants to sidebar with him as soon as possible.
Nick, to his credit, heads straight for him, but he is distracted by Evan clapping his hands as soon as he sees Tommy entering the room.
“Alright everyone. Thanks for joining us for game night,” Evan shouted, even though everyone had fallen silent as soon as he clapped. “The first game for tonight is Never Have I Ever.”
There was a mix of groans and cheers from the group.Lucy looked too excited by the announcement and Tommy frowned at her.
“Everyone grab a beer and a shot glass and head into the living room.” Evan moved to the fridge to start distributing beers while the rest of the group picked up the snacks and left to get settled. Tommy waited until they were alone before going up to Evan.
“What are you trying to accomplish here?” Tommy asked, trying to sound stern but mostly sounding bewildered.
Evan looked at him and sighed. “After the Abby bombshell, I realized we had never really talked about our past relationships and experiences and we both might have some misconceptions about where the other is coming from.”
“And you thinking playing Never Have I Ever with our friends is going help with that?”
“Sure. They already know our deep dark secrets and most embarrassing stories and will keep us accountable.” Evan shrugged, like the prospect of admitting to the shit he’d gotten up in the past wasn’t terrifying.
Evan handed Tommy a can of his favorite IPA and grabbed a cider for himself. Shutting the fridge he reached down to circle Tommy’s wrist and tug him into the living room.
Tommy took his usual seat on the couch and Evan settled on the floor on the other side of the coffee table. The rest of the group was distributed around the room.
Evan started talking again. “If it’s been a few years since you played, here are the rules. Each person will give a statement and if you have done the thing, then you take a drink. If you haven’t then you don’t get to drink. For the first round, we’re doing shots, but after that you can choose a shot or a sip.”
Evan filled six shot glasses with tequila and passed them out. “I’ll start. Never have I ever broken up with someone I could actually see a future with.”
Evan’s eyes bored into him after that statement and Tommy had a decision to make. Was he going to be honest going into this game, or was he going to keep hiding things from everyone.
Fuck it. If Evan wanted to play, they would play. He took his shot, only wincing a little as the tequila went down. From the corner of his eye he noticed Nick and Hen also taking their shots. It was nice to know he wasn’t the only one with a habit of blowing up his life.
Lucy chimed in next and from the wicked glance she threw at Even, he knew this one was targeted. “Never have I ever cheated on a partner.”
Once again, Hen took a shot. Evan and Eddie clinked their shot glasses together before throwing them back. Evan turned to glare at Lucy and gestured at her. She just laughed and said “I wasn’t the one cheating, so I don’t have to do shit.”
“Rude,” Evan said, pouting.
Tommy’s eyes darted between Evan and Lucy, his brow furrowed. Lucy laughed as she smacked Evan on the shoulder.
“You never told him about that night at the bar?” she teased.
Evan glanced down at his lap as he muttered “Not my finest moment.”
Nick, who mainly knew Tommy and tangentially knew Lucy from a few nights out at the clubs went next. “Never have I ever had a threesome.”
Lucy was the only one to drink and Evan laughed as she exclaimed “Really! You all are so boring.”
Hen’s entry was “Never have I ever made out with someone in this room,” and Evan, Lucy, Nick and Tommy had to drink. Tommy didn’t miss the way Evan’s eyes darted between him and Nick and then narrowed.
Eddie didn’t seem to understand the game, saying “Never have I ever knocked up my girlfriend,” before throwing back a shot.
Evan groaned. “Dude, you’re supposed to say things that other people have done.”
“But I wanted a shot,” Eddie whined back.
“Fine,” Evan rolled his eyes fondly.
And then it was Tommy’s turn. He’d been mulling over options as he watched his friends drink and joke, wondering how deep he wanted to go, what he really wanted to know about Evan’s past and what he wanted Evan to know about him.
He took a breath and then said “Never have I ever asked someone to move in with me.”
He watched as everyone but him took a shot, Eddie and Evan once again clinking their glasses together.
Evan grabbed the tequila bottle and refilled everyone’s glasses before he spoke up.
“Never have I ever lived with a romantic partner.” Everyone drank to that, and Evan seemed to relax a bit.
The game continued and Tommy lost track of who was asking what as he took his shots.
At one point Eddie grinned at Evan as he said “Never have I ever flirted with someone with the initials TK” and then made Evan take 3 shots.
Nick contributed “Never have I ever hooked up in a public bathroom,” and looked around in surprise when everyone else took a shot. “Eddie, I thought you’d be with me on this.”
Eddie shrugged even though he was blushing. “Shannon and I had a sneaking around phase,” he said.
“Y’all are nasty,” Nick said, throwing himself back in his seat.
When it was Tommy’s turn again he said, “Never have I ever been dumped.”
He sat back and watched as the rest of the room drank. Evan gave him a speculative look as he took his shot.
Then Hen chimed in with “Never have I ever stolen an LAFD vehicle to hook up,” and Evan protested “I didn’t steal the engine, I just borrowed it” before he took his shot.
Tommy took his shot too, and ignoring the looks from Eddie and Hen. “It wasn’t a 118 vehicle,” he clarified.
Lucy groaned and threw a waded up napkin at him. He met Evan’s eyes and quirked his eyebrow and they both started laughing. Which devolved into Eddie, Hen and Lucy throwing chips at the both of them as they ducked their heads.
All in all, it was fun and silly and nothing that Tommy deserved after dumping Evan.
It also left him wondering just how much he had missed or misread about their relationship. It was obvious that they hadn’t ever really talked about their experiences before, both of them trying so hard to be perfect for the other that they let all the buried trauma stay buried.
Until the trauma exploded into Tommy getting scared and pushing Evan away, telling himself it was for the best. Breaking his own heart before Evan could break it for him, like he always did.
He sat back and let the conversation wash over him as the game fizzled out and everyone started trying to one up each other with crazy sex stories. He was pleasantly buzzed and had some stories he could contribute but for now he wanted to soak in the atmosphere.
This was not at all how he envisioned this night going when he woke up alone in his bed. Evan was flushed and laughing, his friends were around him and he felt hope fluttering in his chest. No one had ever come back before.

Birthday Surprise
Aaron Hotchner x Daughter!Reader
Summary: Emily and JJ help you and Jack put together a surprise birthday for your dad.
———
The kitchen was an absolute mess, with flour all around the counter, frosting sticking to every surface in the form of child handprints, and the very obvious one too many failed cracked eggs that you insisted you needed to crack.
You stood in the kitchen with Jack, JJ and Emily, the four of you very busy making a big birthday surprise for Hotch when he came back from work. You watched as JJ stirred the icing with her spoon, mesmerised as it moved around the bowl and smoothed out.
“I try?” You asked JJ with excitement in your voice, you loved being a big helper in the surprise birthday for your daddy.
JJ nodded and smiled. “Of course you can, honey.” She picked you up, setting you on the stepping stool so you could reach the counter and stir the icing.
Jack was helping Emily with the streamers and balloons, he was having the best time throwing them all everywhere while Emily did the hard work blowing the balloons up.
Emily looked over at Jack and smiled. “Hey, bud, why don’t you go and work on the banner? It needs its finishing touches!”
Jack nodded quickly in agreement. “Yeah! I’ll put more of N/Ns glitter!”
You quickly looked up at JJ when you heard the word glitter. You loved glitter, you had glitter covering you from your recent arts and crafts on the banner. “Glitter?” You asked with a smirky smile.
JJ laughed slightly, taking in the mess of you. The little apron covered in flour, your cute little face with icing smeared on it, and of course the glitter in your hair, your face and your clothes. “I don’t think we need any more glitter, I think we’ve got enough.”
You just sighed and continued stirring the icing. “Glitter.” No one could tell if you liked glitter because it was shiny and pretty or if you just loved making messes, the guess was usually both.
Eventually, the cake was done and Emily and JJ had to keep you away from the kitchen before you could dip your little fingers into it, they knew you wouldn’t be able to resist that urge.
“Cake lonely.” You pointed to the cake sitting in the kitchen, you wanted a way in there.
Emily shook her head and laughed. “The cake is not lonely, it’s got the icing and all the toppings there for friends. Your dad will be home soon and look! We’ve finished everything on time!” Emily smiled and ruffled your now glitter-free hair.
“Y/N you can’t eat the cake until Daddy gets home!” Jack laughed and chucked his stuffed bear at you which earned a laugh from your little mouth.
When Hotch arrived home, he definitely did get surprised. You all popped up in excitement, yelling Happy Birthday, the house littered with streamers and balloons, and a big banner that said ‘Happy Birthday Daddy!’ in big bold letters, hung from the ceiling.
“Happy birthday Daddy!” You squealed loudly and ran over, hugging him tight and showing him a card you’d made just for him. “For you, for you!”
Aaron smiled a little wider at the sight of the surprise. “You guys surprised me so well!” He chuckled and looked at your card. It was covered in paint, pen drawings, random buttons and tape but most of all, glitter. “Wow Y/N this is just an absolutely gorgeous card you’ve made for me.”
You smiled widely and nodded. “Daddy, you like, you like?” You jumped up and down excitedly, you were so excited to give him your card.
“Do I like it? Y/N I love it! I’m going to keep it for forever.” Aaron smiled and hugged you tightly.
By the time the cake rolled around, you were jumping around the place. You needed that cake in your belly right at that moment. You watched your daddy closely as he cut the cake and got the first slice.
You took this as your cue to get some now as Aaron had taken some. You quickly realised you couldn’t have the knife so you resorted to your hands, grabbing a chunk and shoving it in your mouth.
“Good cake!” You cheered and jumped around the house. Aaron knew the sugar rush he’d have to deal with later but he’d just enjoy the moment now.
Aaron hugged both you and Jack close, grateful for his two loving children. With Haley not around anymore, he couldn’t be more appreciative of Emily and JJ who stepped up and made sure that you and Jack could give him the best birthday ever.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
It’s here. You know it is. You look in every secret hiding place you can think of, but you can’t it anywhere. It’s Christmas Eve and you’re convinced he’s going to propose. Sungcheol had been hinting at an engagement for months. The two of you have been together for almost 4 years. It’s time. You were sure that you both were on the same page. But where’s the ring? You just want a peek.
Between the 10+ years he had spent with Jeonghan and being your boyfriend for years, Sungcheol had learned how to deal with a snoop. He knew you’d check. So he thought he would leave something for you to find.
“Where the HELL is this ring!?” After flipping the 12th pair of underwear, you were frustrated. Determined to find a ring you flip over pair 13, and apparently today it’s your lucky number. Bingo. Ring box. Excitement floods your veins. Just a tiny peak. You take a deep breath and open the box…revealing a sparkling pair of diamond earrings. They’re gorgeous and probably cost a small fortune, but you can’t help the disappointment that you feel. You’re incredibly hurt and confused but Sungcheol will be home any minute, you’ve gotta get it together.
“Hey baby” Sungcheol greets as he enters the house. The moment he sees you he knows you had found the earrings in his drawer. Part of him feels bad. He never wants to be the reason his girl is upset, but this was a lesson you needed to learn. He makes his way over to where you’re lounging on the couch and places a kiss on your forehead. “Hey” you half hardly reply. You’re trying your best to remain indifferent but your feelings are hurt. S.Coups doesn’t question your mood, he knows the cause. He plops down next to you and grabs a few goldfish from your bowl. Despite your mood, you try to relax and enjoy the rest of your evening with your boyfriend. In the back of your mind you’re still thinking about, what not finding a ring means for your relationship. If he doesn’t want to marry you now, after all these years and the long talk the two of you had about a life together on your last trip to Jeju. Will he ever?
*Christmas Morning*
You wake up on Christmas morning both thrilled and anxious. Your best friend had flown in from out of town to spend Christmas with you. You make your way down the hall, to the guest bedroom where she’s staying. You knock before waiting for her response. When she welcomes you in, you plop yourself on her bed heaving a big sigh. “What’s the matter with you” she asks as she turns to rummage through her suitcase. You stare up at the ceiling for a second before speaking, “It’s Christmas and my boyfriend hates me”. She turns and looks at you puzzled. “What are you talking about, that boy is obsessed with you” she gets up and shoves you over so she can lay beside you. You give her a sad smile, “Apparently he’s only obsessed for now. Forever with me isn’t appealing to him.” She looks over at you and resists the urge to hit you. Instead she simply says, “You don’t even believe yourself.” You don’t have the energy to fight her so you stand and ask if she’s ready for breakfast.
After breakfast, the three of you move to the living room to open gifts. This is the part you’ve been dreading. You watch with a small smile as your best friend opens her presents. The three of you has played rock paper scissors. She won, Then Sungcheol, you were last. Once she finishes S.coups pipes up. “Okay, my turn.” Sungcheol unwraps his new watch and looks at you with a big dimpled smiled. “Thank you my heart, I love it. Okay Baby, your turn.”
This is it. You can do this. You begin unwrapping the box you had stolen a glance at last night. You will your hands not to shake as you begin to pry it open. Your mouth flies open in shock at the diamond ring inside. Your eyes raise from the box in your hand to Sungcheol who has shifted from his place beside you to on his knee in front of you. “Angel, will you say yes to forever? Will you say yes to late nights with crying babies and early mornings with teething toddlers? trips around the world and nights on the couch at home? Will you say yes to the rest of our lives together? Baby I wanna build our life together from the ground up. Will you marry me?” Sungcheol doesn’t get a chance to blink before you launch yourself into his arms. “YES!” you squeal, before burying your face in his neck and crying. Right now you’re to happy to try and figure out where the this ring came from. You were sure you’d checked everywhere.
Later that night you’re staring at your newest accessory, when something occurs to you. “Coupsie, where did you have the ring at?” Sungcheol turns to you with a raised eyebrow. “Wow. You gave yourself up that quick huh?” Your eyes go wide as you realize your mistake. “I- wait…what?” He shifts his body closer to you and clears his throat. “After we had that talk in Jeju about getting married, I immediately started looking at rings. I knew that meant that you would also start snooping for a ring in the house.” He pinches your side playfully before speaking again. “So, I went and looked at rings for a month after work before I found the perfect ring. I went online and had it ordered to the store near your best friend’s house. She’s been keeping it with her this whole time.” Your eyes tear up at his confession. You feel guilty for the way you had felt prior to his proposal. “When I couldn’t find the ring. I was convinced we weren’t on the same page, and you didn’t want to marry me.” you confess. Sungcheol sighs before pulling you into his arms. “I also figured that would happen. But I needed you to be surprised. You deserve to feel special. I want to make plans for you. Just relax, let me take the lead sometimes. I’ve got you.” You look at him with a soft smile, eyes brimming with tears. Never in your life had you felt so seen. You snuggle closer to him and shut your eyes. Sending out an internal “thank you” to the universe for bringing the two of you together.
