genuinely though show louis not killing lestat is completely unforgivable. book louis just, you know, doesn't particularly want to kill lestat and so he doesn't. deliberately deluded himself into believing it would never come to this. nevertheless participates in swamp motion, and also arson. show louis knows that lestat cuts him slack that is not afforded to claudia, agrees with claudia that lestat needs to die if they're going to be free, commits to the plan, and then goes "nah" at the last second?? they are immortal. the reprieve louis offers lestat is a probable death sentence for claudia. that is your daughter-sister louis!!! unfortunately i am in the business of forgiving the unforgivable and he seems very sad. however when the armandening comes i'm going to be furious.

I think something that for me really sets aside Jack & Joker from other Thai dramas is its narrative structure. Thai dramas usually have a very simple narrative structure where things just keeps happening without a proper flow - I mean, something happens, it gets resolved, and then something new happen that keeps the story move; you know, all those little problems that aren't really all connected together (like, the main characters get together and then someone new appears that comes in between them; or it turns out that, idk, the family was homophobic all along, or that one of the characters actually had a complicated relationship with their family - things like these that are disconnected).

Maybe it's because Jack and Joker has a pretty solid and complicated plot, but something that I really love about it is the way everything that happens is connected, everything is a direct consequence of the characters' actions. It's like this since the first episode until the last one - the plot is brought forward by the characters' actions, everything they do has consequences on everything and everyone else. Like, Joke seeks Jack's forgiveness, so he wants to steal the ring for him, and he works with Tattoo and Hoy -> Tattoo steals the necklace which causes problems for everyone -> they need to steal the necklace back -> Jack meets Rose again, which causes everything else to happen, etc etc

Everything is connected. And I think it all comes back to one of the series' themes, which is that everything we do has consequence, that even if out intentions are good we can't predict what our actions will cause; that we live in a community and that we cannot think about ourselves only bc every time we do something that can end up influencing someone else's life. that we can't be selfish in a community.

One of my favourite details in AC: Brotherhood is Desmond's changing eye colour.

Usually, its dark brown (right pic) but when he's in the Animus with Clay, or in the car with Lucy, its a purple-blue.

Pictured is the scene right before the final area of the modern day, where Desmond and Lucy are riding in the front of the car. His eyes are a bright violet until he rubs them, when they become the dark brown.

Watching this show is an endless switch of extremes from we’re so back to its so over, but the one thing that constantly makes me insane is the parallels and references they make

Matt telling Vanessa what he knows and Fisk almost telling heather what he knows, the same changing aspect ratios when he hears Dex just like in the first episode which was the last time we Dex showed up, the visual of Matt’s red blood on fisks white suit just like the painting, HIM GETTINF SHOT IN THE SAME WAY AND PLACE AS FOGGY, the blue light over dex the whole time and then the red one over Matt

not even a little. he might've not even been listening when leo made that promise. he was really upset with himself and not registering what leo was mumbling about, and even if he did he didn't really understand it had weight. he was only really registering leo was holding him. that's all he seems to remember now. (and for leo, who's greatest strength is in his words, his voice,, to have that forgotten...)

honestly, that's why promising it was so important to leo in the first place. it took a lot of fighting to get donnie to understand that helping each other went both ways, even though at that point he thought donnie was just trying to be tough or something. he's always known the persona was bullshit, he wasn't just aware of how connected it was to his other issues. he just thought he was trying to grow up and act more independent, even to his own detriment. as much shit as they gave each other, this went both ways. leo let mikey spread his wings all he wanted, knowing that both of them knew he could always come back down and have someone to look over him a little if he really wanted (and mikey never, ever doubts that). donnie just needed to be reminded of the same thing more-- it was the one real downside to their choice to be twins. sometimes "we're equals" meant "i cant let this be uneven again" to him, even though he didn't kick up a fuss when leo really needed him.

even then, leo didn't mean it in the way he does now post-cc. he was truthful and genuine, and he meant it very seriously, but it was a reminder. he never had to deeply think about it before he said it, because it's always been that way and he'd say it to any of them. they look out for each other. if donnie needs to hear it again, then so be it. he'll make that promise again.

he never thought he was capable of breaking it in such a drastic, horrifying way. after the curse it recontextualized that moment for him. donnie and leo don't have a ton of rooftop conversations, they dont get earnest with each other that often (hell, the reason the tradition started was because they'd have something to look at instead of each other, and it's brought back around at the end of cw because it's a tradition specific to them. it was donnie wanting leo to open up, and attempting normalcy again). it might have been the last real emotional moment they had before this all happened.
