What Does "Supporting Writers" Mean? ✍️

Apparently it's Fanfic Writer Appreciation Day! To all my fellow writers, I truly appreciate you for bringing me joy, making me smile on rough days, and giving me my weekly/daily dose of escapism and warm fuzzies. (Shoutouts to you personally below.) 💓💓

But what does it mean "practically" to appreciate your favorite writers, especially on Tumblr?

For example, I know some fanfic authors are starting to block "serial likers": people who'll go through someone's entire masterlist and hit the "like" button on 20-something stories without commenting or basic reblogging.

While I think blocking them is extreme, I understand the authors' frustrations. I've actually been asked if I'll ever leave Tumblr, since many of them have dropped off over the past few months, or even the past few years.

I'm still here for two very important reasons:

I love to write about my favorite characters. I write primarily because I love it, not just for the kudos.

I'm friggin' blessed to have a lot of friends and lovely readers on here and Ao3 who support me immensely on my writing and on this blog in general. I love and appreciate each and every one of you! Which is why I do my best to reply to your comments and reblogs. 💖💖

Of course, there are many reasons why a writer might take a break or stop writing entirely, but one of those reasons is also why the #supportwriters tag exists...

That being said, here's my own rule of thumb on how I try to support my fellow writers when I read something I enjoy:

If I "liked" something, it means I had the time to read a story all the way through and I enjoyed it! (Or I'm bookmarking it for later in the day lol)

If I have the time to read it, I have the time to leave a comment on what I liked the most about it.

If I have the time to write out a comment (anywhere from a few seconds to a few minutes), I typically put that comment in a reblog -- maybe even add a gif or two for ✨razzle dazzle.✨ That way I can share it with the rest of my followers, so they can see it and hopefully enjoy it too...

Why? Because Tumblr isn't TikTok or IG. Reblogging is the best way to help a post gain traction on Tumblr. The algorithm doesn't care much about likes.

But on a more human level, supporting writers is just the basic thing of -- if you enjoyed something you read (that a writer shared for free), just let them know what you liked about it.

Remember that there's a person behind the content you enjoy. They might have been working on that story for weeks or months, or even years before they got the courage to post it.

They might really be putting themselves out there, writing about a topic or subject matter that they're not sure people will even like or engage with.

Maybe they're exploring something new, like a character or trope they've never written before.

Maybe they're expressing part of themselves that they haven't even told another living soul.

Maybe they just wanted to write something fun and smutty or angsty or fluffy and want to share the escapism with you.

Whether they've been writing for years or are just starting out, any and all is valid.

For me, as a writer and a reader, supporting my fellow writers often means supporting my friends. And 9 times out of 10, the way we became friends was by leaving feedback on their work and asking them questions, or responding to their awesome feedback on mine.

TAROT OBSERVATIONS from a tarot reader!

i'm going to preface this post by saying that those are MY PERSONAL takes on tarot reading from someone who has been an inconsistent tarot reader since 2016 and a very consistent reader since 2018. you may agree or disagree on my takes and that's okay as long as you're respectful! we all have our own experiences. those are just a few random takes that came to my mind, i am sure that i can come up with more later if anybody's interested lol

-if a tarot reader asks you to "claim" your message i'm sorry but they're just using you for engagement. you don't need to claim your reading, if you found it and it resonated with you it means that it was already yours to begin with.

-if your cards are chaotic as hell (aka multiple cards fall out or the reading doesn't make much sense) there could be a few reasons for that: you didn't formulate the question correctly, you're not listening to the guidance or there simply may not be a message for you today. center yourself and try shuffling again. if it doesn't work do not force a message to come, especially for a client. if there's no message there's simply no message (it can happen). refund them or graciously ask them to wait for a tiny bit longer until you can sort the issue out (needless to say, if you're still not able to get a message after a day or two then there's no message and a refund is due imo).

-i believe that there isn't always going to be a message for you (to expand on my previous take), especially when it comes to using tarot as a divination tool/future telling tool. the future could be obscured for many different reasons that may have to do with you or with external forces.

-you're not the tarot reader for everyone and that's okay. not all of your readings or messages are going to resonate and you cannot expect them to because you don't even know the amount of people that are going to receive or were meant your reading that day (could be 10 people, 100, 1000 and so on, it's impossible for all of them to resonate with the same reading).

-tarot is a state of being attuned to the divine to me (i already mentioned this in one of my past posts), not just a skill. knowing the cards meanings and being able to recite them doesn't mean anything if you can't connect them in a way that makes sense to your situation.

-learning the standard meaning of the cards is important (obviously) but there might not be the right answer or an exact perfect meaning for a card (think about spread combinations and circumstances and so on). you need to define your own interpretation, while associating yourself to the root meaning. tarot is all about alignment and perception rather than standardized answers

-it is extremely important to connect with your deck (this can be done in different ways, through a spread or by sleeping close to it or so many other ways). different decks definitely have very different energies.

-protecting your crown/head can be important when dealing with contradicting energies so that the message comes through clearly and unbiasedly, that's why some tarot readers like to veil (i sometimes veil depending on the occasion but it's not a 24/7 thing for me). also please for the love of god purify yourself after a few readings or whenever you feel it to be necessary (whichever way you prefer, as long as you do it).

-the tarot community (not the one on tumblr) needs to stop all the fear mongering about the tower card. it is one of the most beautiful cards to get in a reading (check the supporting cards though). yes, it can be destructive. it can be terrible. but destruction is nothing if not an opportunity to rebuild yourself. it is a gift to being able to shed the old you and glow up into an even better version of yourself.

-the devil in a love reading doesn't always mean that the relationship is toxic. it might be related to the energies of one of the partners or some other factor you need to consider (could be related to self sabotage, comfort zones that turn into traps and so on).

-a similar concept can be applied to the lovers card: it does not always mean soulmates, it can be about making choices that will define your path moving forward.

-you don't always need a tarot reading. sometimes you just need to do the thing you're scared of. it's okay to fear the unknown but it is not okay to stunt your own growth because of fear. just do the damn thing.

-last one: stalking cards are there for a reason. if you keep pulling the high priestess, stop looking for answer externally. you already know, you just don't trust yourself to know. a similar notion can be applied to other cards, such as the hanged man. you're forcing things, stop and let things unfold naturally. divine timing.

Sorry I haven't been ignoring this I've just been Thinking. The thing is that I've been into the beatles off and on since I was in middle school so it's hard for me to remember like. Beatles 101. But welcome to hell. Two of us is a cwazy intro to mclennon lol.

Ok so I guess the thing is really depends on how serious you wanna be with your idk beatles scholarship? Like at an absolute bare minimum I would skim some wikipedia articles so you know the major people/places/events/eras. There are a zillion beatles bios and docs most of them bad some of them vital. Unfortunately it haven't gone through any of those since I was a teenager so I can't really tell you which is which anymore. I'm sure plenty of other beatles blogs could provide resources if you want them.

Definitely watch get back and let it be. The movies the beatles were in as well but less essential I guess. Advanced Level McCartney Studies but watch give my regards to broad street it's a fascinating reflection of pauls psyche.

I'd look at blogs like @amoralto @thecoleopterawithana @undying-love for references. Probably more upper level stuff but all of pauls interviews are on the paul mccartney project website and I once went through and read all the interviews from the 80s. Full disclosure, the thing about mclennon that compels me the most is the tragedy of it all, so that's where I tend to fixate. But it was a fascinating experience because you can really see paul work through his regrets/grief/resentment/bitterness/pain about john in real time

A word of caution when reading interviews: both of these guys are incredibly untruthful at times. John, after the breakup in particular, could be very hot and cold, especially about paul so don't take everything he says at face value. Paul also lies a lot no matter what anybody tries to tell you he just gets away with it more because he's still alive and people feel bad calling him a liar

Songs. Their songs are very very important. I sometimes see people act like it's stupid to believe things based on the songs. To a point I get it art doesn't have to be literal yadda yadda. But you also gotta consider these guys communicated a Lot to each other through music from the time they were teenagers. Anyway I'd suggest listening to the songs for a more thorough understanding but just reading lyrics I guess is fine. I personally still like going through people's mclennon playlists and analyzing Why people think they're mclennon. Look at the lyrics, go to beatles bible and/or the paul mccartney project and learn about the context, etc.

Okay anyway on to fanfic. If this is your main concern just ignore all the above advice who cares. Also I'm a horrible resource because I always forget what I read. Um @forthlin @menlove @pauls1967moustache have good fics sorry I can never remember any of your ao3 names. Merseydreams (I think it is) has good fics. @crepesuzette2023 does a lot of fic recs I think. One thing that's always fun about beatles fics is when u think something is completely made up and you look it up and it's literally real like wtf. I'm also a bad reference because I'm heavily biased towards early days fics and post breakup fics.

Ok hope this helps even a little bit. Remember the most important rule is to have fun. People take this shit so seriously but it's literally the beatles. But please do fact check that always drives me nuts.

Also, the fact that Xie Lian showed even a hint of interest in the boy and san lang 1. finds him immediately 2. was fully prepared to raise him as his own LOL.

I’m sure I got sent some posts of some blogger swearing that Jk lied when he said AYS trips were his best trips ever but honestly anon, what did you expect tkkrs to say? That was a huge slap in the face to them after they spent a year singing about “private trips” only for Jk to go and say AYS trips were the best trips he ever had in his entire life. Mind you “entire life” which means including the “private trips” taekookers thought was the beginning and end of the universe so what else did you expect them to say? Their whole world blew up in their faces when Jk said that because imagine how painful it must have been for them hear that trips that were taken with Jimin the member who they claim he hates and cannot stand and which also happened to be “company content” were the most impactful for Jungkook? The heartbreak!!!

Jimin saying he spent the night at Jk’s before their Jeju trip shouldn’t really be a big deal because duhhh they are friends and have been band mates for over a decade but it was, especially to them and not in a good way (even though they’ll never admit it) because if you think about it, why would Jimin be with Jk, spending the night with him after a trip instead of Tae if taekook is real? Everyone knows that after trips, people just want to go back home to their lovers and not necessarily their friends but here we had Jungkook going back home, Jimin going over there, Jungkook cooking for him and them spending the night together with Tae nowhere in sight. Doesn’t really read as coupley for taekook now does it especially considering how much tkkrs had been loud about Tae (and Hobi) being with Jk at night before Jk had to leave for LA even though they know there is a huge difference now because we don’t know that Taekook have ever spent a night together before or after a trip like Jikook have. Tkkrs tend to downplay or invalidate anything that Jikook do which their ship doesn’t. They downplayed spending bdays and couple holidays together because their ship doesn’t, they downplayed spending nights and alone time together because their ship doesn’t, they downplayed sharing cars till their ship did it a few times, they downplayed matching clothes till they thought their ship did it and they are downplaying Jikook spending the night together before and after a trip even though that is something they thought their ship did and celebrated it like hell.

Accepting that the AYS trips were the best trips Jk ever had in his life like he said would mean that Jk preferred his company, time and activities on the trips with Jimin over those with Tae. It would mean that the “private” doesn’t hold as much weight and they desperately want it to hold and tkkrs can’t accept that because “privet” is all they have. They can’t accept that Jikook spending the night together before a trip means anything because deep down they know that if taekook was real like they want it to be, Jungkook would want to go home to Tae not Jimin especially since they claimed that Tae joined AYS to spend time with Jk since he was travelling so much (even though Tae was on his phone the entire time). So anon, they just cannot do or say anything else. Jimin spending the night with Jk before a trip doesn’t prove they are real but it kinda debunks taekook just like jikook spending bdays, couple holidays and other special days and times together debunks taekook because why would Jungkook want to do all those things and spend all those moments with anyone other than the person he is romantically involved with. Jikook spend bdays, couple holidays, nights, spend nights with each other after trips while taekook go to concerts, musicals, premieres and go on ski trips where Jk ends up being left behind alone because Tae wants to go back home with friends. Even if you didn’t know the first thing about relationships which one of these seem like things what a couple would actually do? See my point? They have no choice anon.

Not only the age gap, but also the fact that their big brother literally brought a new dawn of technology to the two cities with Jayce? I imagine there's this subconscious pressure on the Vanco baby to be a model citizen. Also imagining Silco enlisting Viktor to help keep his baby sibling in line during the rebellious teen/nightmare phase. They're still Zaunites after all.

Yeah it got eaten (had kind of thought Tumblr had stopped doing that but apparently not).

So going by my math (of quite frankly Silco's age) the youngest Vanco is probably born while Hextech is still in the stages of being developed or like only around the time of the initial releases not when it's really starting to hit its peak popularity. Not that that really matters seeing as the kid probably doesn't have memories from before Hextech was big but still feel like I need to note. Partially because is means Viktor and Jayce are spending a lot of time in their labs and therefore easy to locate babysitting when Silco needs it while he's in Piltover.

The gap is the kind where not only could Viktor (and Jayce) be the kid's parents it wouldn't even be that socially unacceptable for them to be seeing that they are both in their (early) 20s when the baby is born. Before Jayce's face at least is plastered everywhere and people Know Him And His Story people regularly assume if they are around that they're the baby's parents (especially with how much the kid looks like Viktor). And again they're not even judgemental about it and treat them like they are Irresponsible because of the baby. Which you know causes a lot of very awkward situations for either still dancing around each other or only just gotten into a relationship Jayce and Viktor.

While the heavy shadow Viktor casts definitively hangs a bit over his youngest siblings head I do think the Thing that defines the kid the most is that they are the first child to truly grow up in the limeline in both the cities. They have been attending Piltover Council meetings from a couple weeks old (if they want to call a four hour meeting they can just deal with Silco having his baby with him he's not walking all the way back to his office to feed them). But they've also been running around the Last Drop since they could run around.

When they're young they struggle with how to behave where. Because in Zaun nobody cares if they're climbing on the furniture and getting into mischief while in Piltover all eyes are on them as an extension of the Zaun Representative and so have to be model behaviour to not give ammunition to throw at their family. They do figure it out as they get older but it's definitively a struggle in those early developmental years.

Viktor has always been a borderline third parent to his younger siblings more than a brother (the age gap but also he had less interest in the kinds of things they were getting into). Funnily enough he's actually less of a third parent and more of that uncle figure to the youngest because he isn't living at home anymore. Which in some ways makes the shadow Viktor casts loom less compared to the others. Having a rich and successful uncle feels less intimidating than having a rich and successful older sibling. Yes it's not exactly that because Viktor is still their sibling but the gap is so large they're less being directly compared to him than the other four feel like they are and it's more just part of the culmative Success of the whole family that feels like expectation.

Even with not living at home Viktor's still getting roped into babysitting now and then and does get looked at to provide advice as someone who moves between Zaun and Piltover culture a lot (although by the time the kid is old enough for teenage rebellion Vi is also dating a Piltite).

Saw a post where someone said Kenny had a pet snake and I can't FUCKING FIND IT TUMBLR SEARCH BE DAMNED BUT that is not going to stop me, so I took the liberty of looking up exactly what breed of snake Kenny had.

CONTENT WARNING FOR SNAKE IMAGERY FOR THOSE WHO NEED IT

Now the thing is, as cool as the idea is of Kenny having a venomous snake as a pet, I kinda doubt he would keep it, much less his parents. Especially with Karen and Kevin in the house who might not know better about snakes and possibly provoke it and get hurt, so venomous snakes are off the table.

Now, a quick search for Kenny's bedroom with the snake tank was easy to find. Let's take a look at the snake he has, shall we?

It's kinda hard to see, but we can tell that it's mostly white with red stripes (or bands idk the terminology) and a red head.

Color alone, that leaves us with these snakes that I have found so far

Kingsnake

Milk Snake (a subspecies of kingsnake)

Corn Snake

Now, you can argue that it can be any one of these snakes, because (1.) Realistically, there are no naturally occuring white and red snakes in the wild (at least to my knowledge) since they all have a black coloration to go with them, and (2.) The South Park animators/designers could've just simplified the snake's design.

Or you could argue it is a king snake, and Kenny was just super lucky to find one that had little to no black stripes surrounding the red bands, as seen here. Notice the tiny black dots vvv

But I say nay! I wanna be more partial to the idea that Kenny had saved up for an albino snake. Because like I said before, it's a mostly white snake with red stripes, whereas these snakes I showed photos of are mostly red. Plus, if you were a little boy, you would also think that it would add bonus cool points to your reputation.

Plus, plus, I kinda like the idea of Kenny being into snake breeding. I have limited knowledge on this stuff, but I think you guys know what I'm talking about. Selectively breeding snakes, watching over their eggs, making pretty morphs and selling them off for a buck or two. And even if you didn't get that special combo you wanted, you still have a gorgeous, healthy snake to sell as well :D

So! What albino snake looks the closest to the one Kenny has?

Well, at that point, that would mean that the kingsnake is now out of the question, as most of the images are just plain white snakes, BUT I could be wrong!

Milk snakes and corn snakes on the other hand fair better to the picture of Kenny's pet above.

They're pretty similar, but I would say I'm leaning more to the corn snake, simply because it matches the more triangle-like stripes than compared to the milk snake, and it does seem like a large snake.

So there you have it! The mystery snake no one was asking for! Kenny McCormick owns a kingsnake, or a special albino corn snake! Yeah!

i think brick and savannah are newer agents than dakavendish, which is why cav is kinda bitter. despite working for the agency for longer, he got stuck with the worst equipment and the most unfulfilling job possible

cav is probably a little frustrated at dakota because of this, but i'd think after so long working w him he's realized that it's not dakota's fault they can't seem to climb the ladder. they're just like that. but obviously he hasn't accepted his fate as we see in the show

dakavendish have been in the same semi-romantic semi-platonic situationship forever. neither of them has said a word. if they knew what a qpr was they'd really like that but they've never heard of it so instead they're just stuck Like That. hopeless idiots my beloved

cavendish watches ancient aliens and all those other sorts of shows about supernatural conspiracies. he half believes them. dakota watches them with him, ironically.

anyways back to the kids. lydia and buford met once at a concert for some famous orchestra, they don't really hang out but they email back and forth sometimes and exchange recipes.

lydia and amanda have been best friends for as long as anyone can remember. it sometimes seems like lydia is just amanda's sidekick, but she just prefers to step out of the way and do her part from behind the scenes. it's less stressful for both of them.

amanda hates candles. just can't stand them. they smell too strong, or never smell right, or they pose a fire hazard, or the shape doesn't fit the vibe she's going for.

related to that i think amanda has some pretty strong sensory aversions, especially to smells and certain textures

milo's backpack is essentially a pocket dimension. it's his hammerspace, so he doesn't need to think too much about what fits or not. he packs it every morning, but the stuff basically comes from already in that hammerspace. there are times when he packs the wrong things (which we see in one episode), but that's because they aren't stored in the backpack and are instead inaccessible to him

basically im saying milo is mary poppins and he can hypothetically access anything he needs at any time. issues only arise when he is caught unaware and unprepared, and that is very rare

milo and sara really like going to creeks. especially when they were little they would go to the nearest creek or pond and wade and look for creatures in the water

baljeet ran a boy bands fan blog back when the lumberzacks were active. he was shouted out once on their old social media and it's still one of his proudest accomplishments.

this isn't really an mml hc but baljeet kind of reminds me of a friend who runs a blog and a youtube channel about some really niche tech and programming stuff, and is also just a normal guy on the internet, so i think baljeet probably does smth similar

amanda and melissa have been academic rivals for a long time, but they have a mutual understanding and it's never gotten nasty. bradley thinks he's melissa's academic rival but honestly she doesn't see him as competition at all

bradley has a pretty big sweet tooth. i'm basing this off the whole carla thing if it wasn't obvious, but he definitely stops by coffee shops after school and gets the sweetest drink he can. ice cream fan as well

The FAQ was getting kinda long, so I've decided to cut it off into its own post so the pinned post loads better for people on slow connections

Q. When are submissions opening? (Pinning this one to the top, because it's by far the question we get the most) Short answer... I don't know, sorry! Long answer... Because of the way the blog is set up, it's very hard for me to figure that out. Basically, each fandom gets one poll a week, but as there are often multiple characters for some fandoms in the submissions form, it's a pain to figure out exactly how many characters are left to add new polls for when you factor out the repeat fandoms (and also, if a repeat fandom's poll would end before submissions are opened, then a new character from that fandom will be polled before submissions are opened, meaning I'd need to work that out as well). There are often about 200 characters in the submissions form, so you can understand this is too much for me to figure out manually, especially since I'm a full-time shift worker, so my schedule doesn't give me a lot of free time. I don't even like to give a ball park estimate to this question, because with being a shift worker, if I have to do a lot of extra work at short notice and can't meet when I said I'd open submissions, I feel like I'e let you all down and that feeling sucks However, when I do open submissions I try to vary it so that one round will be open at roughly 7-10am GMT and the next round will be open at roughly 7-10pm GMT, to try to catch as many people possible. I know that's not ideal for everyone and people have expressed disapointment about this in the past, but those are all the hours I'm able to give :(

Q. How does this blog work? A. A post featuring a blorbo shall be made, stating who they are and their source material. A poll will be attached set to one week, asking if the blorbo should join the tumblr found family. At the end of the week, based on the result, I will announce if the blorbo has joined or not Q. What is a found family? A. A found family is a family you find for yourself. It is a term often used in fandom to describe a group of characters who aren't related by blood (although a few members might be) but have come to think of each other as a family through circumstance. Alternatively, they might not be officially regarded as a found family in canon, but parts of fandom regards them as such Q. Is this a tournament bracket? A. Nope, blorbos aren't competing against each other, they're only here to be judged by you. We are here enternally submitting blorbos (at least until I run out of steam or pass away lol) Q. I'm not sure if my blorbo counts because of ___ reason? A. If it's not any of the reasons mentioned in the rules, then feel free to send an ask. Or just submit them anyway and I'll decide Q. I submitted a blorbo and they haven't been posted. Did you get them? A. Again, feel free to send an ask. I don't have a regular schedule for posting these. Somedays there'll be batches of polls, others there'll be one or none Q. My blorbos are a duo/trio/etc., who cannot be separated. Can I submit them as a group? A. While I would prefer to stick to individual characters, if you have some who absolutely cannot be separated, I might make exceptions. Most likely, I'll make a poll asking if they should be judged as a group or individually, since there's a lot of media I won't be familiar with Q. My blorbo didn't get voted into the found family! Fuck you! A. Friend, as a fan of Theseus from Hades Game, I understand what it's like to have your fave hated by fandom. Anything decided on this blog can never affect your personal headcanons, so go in peace with your middle finger held high Q. What are your icon and header? A. The icon is of the Pokemon Bouffalant and Natu, based on a series of trading card art where Bouffalant finds two Natu and rescues them - the true spirit of found family. The header is a group of characters called the Black Ravens from the Professor Layton series - a group of ragtag working-class kids who make a black market together Q. I wrote some propaganda on the submission form, can you post it or send it back to me? A. Submissions are deleted as the polls are posted, so I can keep track of how many I have left to post, which means I can't do this. Please save your propaganda for the post and not the submissions form Q. Did you know you used fan art on ___ poll? A. Unless I'd mentioned getting permission from the artist, then please assume that I did not know and let me know. I hate art theft and wouldn't want to partake in that, but I'm just not familiar with a good 80% of the series submitted, so sometimes it might slip through the cracks Q. Can I submit a character who isn't my blorbo? A. Also fine! I enjoy it when people submit controversial characters to see how they'll do Q. What happens if there's a tie? A. The blorbo in question becomes an occassional family member who appears with our found family for some important cutscenes, but isn't officially considered part of the found family. That is essentially the only idea I've had for ties, but I'm open to suggestions for something better or funnier

Q. No, but seriously, my blorbo got ditched. Do they get another chance? A. At the beginning of each year we host a Redemption Event, where any past blorbos who were submitted get another chance. Because of the high volume of ditched characters, to be included in the event, your character will need to be submitted with propaganda via a form that will be released about a month before the event Q. I think the image used is a big reason why my blorbo got ditched. Why did you use that image? A. If an image hasn't been submitted, I will just grab one from an image search result in most cases. You know your blorbos best, so if you have a specific (non-fan art) image that you think shows them in their best light, please do submit it when you submit them Q. Did you mean the book version or movie version of that character? A. Whichever version of the blorbo that gets submitted, that'll be the one I use. If no specific version is mentioned, I'll just post that blorbo in general and use whatever image is most common when I look them up, unless an image has been submitted or a book cover has been requested to be used Q. My blorbo is a character played by a youtuber and/or streamer, not the youtuber or streamer themselves, is that okay? A. If it's a character, then it's fine. But please mention this on the submission. Because if I look them up and the result looks to be just some real person, they won't be included. I am largely unfamiliar with these kind of fandoms and will always err on the side of caution about their inclusion Q. What counts as a "sweep"? A. Any character who gets 90% or higher in either joining or not joining is counted as a sweep. This doesn't give them anything extra, it's just for bragging rights Q. What counts as a "close call"? A. Any character who's poll results are within the 49%-51% range for join/don't join is counted as a close call Q. How many characters can I submit at a time? A. There's no hard rule, since the form doesn't track emails, but please be considerate to others and try not to submit more than 10 characters per submission period. See next question for more details Q. How many characters from the same series can I submit at a time? A. Four (4) characters per series per submission period. I'll be lenient for if they've been submitted by multiple people, but from my experience running this blog, it's only Pokemon or the current Hot New Thing that'll be submitted by multiple people and anything else is usually one person submitting one character after another. I used to allow more, but people took this for granted and submitted 50+ from the same series, so now 4 is the cap Q. You missed a tag from that poll! Can it be added? A. Sure! Tags are either provided by the submitter or where left blank, I'll use my best guess. At minimum, you'll get the name of the character and series as they've been submitted. If you know more, let me know and I'll add them to the post during the voting period. Please note: The polls themselves cannot be edited after being posted, only the tags Q. Can fictional characters based on real people be submitted? A. Fictional characters that are inspired by real people (e.g. Steven Universe being inspired by Rebecca Sugar's brother) are generally fine. But characters that are basically just some real celebrity making a cameo somewhere (e.g. Simon Cowell appearing on the Simpsons), are a no Q. I don't understand what this blog is A. Majesty, serena, royal blue - princess celestia x mirror!sombra (he's from the IDW comics in case you're confused)

These three are triplets, surprisingly! They're the princesses of heart, soul and mind and are named after three ponies from G1. Legends say that if you were to come into contact with one of the sisters and give an offering, they would bless you with their abilities; majesty gives you the ability to sense emotions, serena gives you the ability to understand yourself on a spiritual level and royal blue gives you endless wisdom. They may seem like super elegant princesses but in reality they're just a bunch of dorks who argue while playing monopoly on family game night. Majesty is very kind and often acts as a peacemaker in most situations; serena is the most pompous of the three due to being the only one who's an alicorn and therefore being the most powerful (fun fact: serena's hair is inspired by usagi from sailor moon because she has the same name in the DIC dub of the anime, not to mention serena has sailor moon's tiara!) Lastly royal blue is more or less the quiet one and she spends most her time nose-deep in a book. I imagine her being kinda like shiver from splatoon 3 personality-wise because i can't think of a trio of characters with different personalities without thinking of those 3 mfs from sploon 3

Taffeta and taurus - princess luna x discord

Fun fact: i decided to ship luna x discord and make it part of my next gen because i saw a fancomic on deviantart when i was like, 8 where the two pull pranks on the ponies by giving them weird dreams! Anyways, taurus is the older one. They are the princess of the zodiac and is very stoic and calm, she takes things EXTREMELY seriously and has a hard time letting loose and having fun (also she goes by she/they, just so you know), she also has albinism and their design was inspired by princess tiffany from G1 because i think she's really pretty :3

Taffeta is the younger sister, she is named after a pony from G1 much like the other princesses though i imagine she goes by "taffy" as a nickname. Taffy isn't really the princess of anything yet so she's just vibin as a typical 16 year old girl (a direct character inspiration for her being pearl from spongebob) i imagine that she has acne and likes covering it up with face stickers....also she's pansexual because i accidentally used the pan colors in her design and thought "why not?"

Red rhubarb pie - pinkie pie x minty

Rhubarb is chocomint's older sister, since chocomint is inspired by the song "aoi chan is going to eat chocomint no matter what" by GYARI, and by extension the synthV character aoi kotonoha, rhubarb is inspired by aoi's sister akane. Her name is inspired by a food item in stardew valley and i imagine she often hangs around her aunt maud, her special talent is making CBD candies and she runs a cannabis shop where she often runs into daisy bell.

B.B. buttercup - rainbow dash x applejack

If i'm being honest, i only created this cutie because i wanted to make a pony based on the powerpuff girls! Her full name is "bubbly blossoming buttercup" and she's around 11-12 years old. Much like the ACTUAL powerpuff girls, she's very strong (ESPECIALLY for an earth pony) i imagine her personality being somewhat similar to that one theory about the powerpuff girls being 3 different parts of a girl named brenda or whatever that theory was about lol (fun fact: her name was inspired by the youtuber dollightful's character bibi bubbles ^w^)
