to go to the club or not to go to the club

#it never ends well for me nowadays and i'd have a lot to do to get ready #like cutting my hair #all i really feel like doing is chilling here but i'm once again feeling like i'll regret not going out #idk. i'm tired #if i'm too exhausted to respond to the messages i want to respond to #and do my washing up #and hang out my clothes #then i should not be hitting the club #it's just going to end in literal tears because alcohol always makes me feel the full weight of everything i'm trying to not let consume me #lmao #but !!! it'll just be me and 2 friends #plus a friend's boyfriend #they're all lovely #and i might get to chat to one of those friends whilst drunk which is one of my favourite things to do #without the interference of another friend who is the most annoying drunk person i've ever encountered #she'll drink 1 unit and be acting like she's the only person in the world who matters #which tbh is how she acts normally but it gets worse when we go out #and just because i want to ramble in these tags (instead of getting up and making a decision about my evening)#she's also really funny about people getting approached by guys #said some odd things about it happening to me a few times #and on the first night we went out together and she saw it happen #aka when i was really bored so when someone came up i was like alright . and went with it #i kissed him and all i could hear (over extremely loud music and other people in between us) was this friend saying IT'S NOT FAIR #lmao. ok .#there is absolutely nothing about me worth being jealous of and yet #she somehow is (at least over this) and it somewhat ruins what could have been a fairly nice friendship #anyway ?????#since this is one night where she won't be there i should probably make the most of it and go #decision made #i guess

#poorly drawn mdzs #mdzs #wei wuxian #granny wen #a-yuan #It's always fascinating how colours translate from the page to the screen.#It would probably surprise a lot of people to see what some of these comics actually look like in physical form.#My lighter colours takes about 3-4 washes before it shows up on scan which means it tends to ripple the page.#And my yellows and oranges are drastically different colours when scanned compared to the ink colour.#There's about 20 or so comics where everyone's hair is purple - because it scanned in the exact same colour as my light grey.#Wait my book is right here in front of me so I can...yeah...Comics 57-77 were indeed purple.#This is all to say - is it not fascinating how what we see is often not the full truth of what the subject truly is?#Is it not fascinating to open another episode that reminds us that despite everyone's claims they could totally spot the evil YLLZ-#-The man walks around among them for months as no more than a man haggling for deals like the rest.#It's almost as if he's just a person. It's almost as if none of us - no matter what we do are really anything more than just a person.#Your good acts will be overtaken by how other's interpret you in negative light.#Just as easily are people willing to forgive crueler actions if they hold you in high esteem.#But what's real? Is the page I hold the real version of this comic? Is it the one you look at?#Is the man known as Wuxian the most himself when he is alone or on the battlefield?#Perhaps he is and has always been a scared orphan boy lost in the market.#I think there is no good answer to any of these questions.#But I do know that panic rising in WWX as he frantically looks for A-yuan was for more than one boy.#To be human is to have layers around a delicate center. We only really grow around our wounds from childhood.#In other words; Donkey from Shrek would also probably call Wei Wuxian an onion. I'll see myself out now.

anyone can make a zine, regardless of skill level or access to materials or design programs. all you need is paper, scissors and drawing utensils (although many people enjoy collaging!) web search "8 page 1 sheet zine how to".

everyone SHOULD make a zine too, you will feel so good about it ♡ it's about putting the power of production into the hands of the people! also you don't have to sell it or anything, you can just make one for yourself or trade/give some to friends!

i really love julia grofrer's guide to analogue self publishing aka making zines on 8.5x11 paper

and jaydragon/jdragsky's thread on staple's self serve print centres (if you're area does not have a local print shop, they probably have a staples or fedex print centre)

if you can't draw, here is twitter thread for public domain art and also a mini summary of when thing enter creative commons (generally 70 years after artist death in the US and CAD)

i also have a DIY zine page on my art blog that i am dedicated to updating as i find more resources! (not accessible through tumblr mobile app, mobile friendly, just open the link in a browser)

go make some zines!!!

yall ever think Shen Yuan went through like, internet withdrawal after being transmigrated into Shen Qingqiu? Like, he's canonically a NEET shut-in who did nothing but spend his time online, you can't tell me that for the first week or first few weeks of being SQQ he wasn't twitchy.

Like, reaching instinctively to his pockets for a phone that wasn't there, having an obsessive itch in the back of his mind that he should check and see if X or Y novel or webcomic has updated -- only to realize he can't anymore and being irritated by it. Wanting to go and see if there's new posts about this or that, but again realizing that he can't.

When he's bored or uncomfortable or just feels like wanting to escape he tries to go for his phone to distract himself, but oops! Not there anymore, and now he has to find a new and different way to distract himself from his feelings. And going through system notifications, quests, etc only does so much.

And there's that Tetris Effect too. SQQ makes a mistake while writing and instinctively goes to backspace on it except hey-ho that's not a keyboard and now he just dipped his pinkie into a bottle of ink or on a still-drying letter.

With him scrambling to fix his reputation and learn how to be a peak lord, I think his abrupt cold-turkey from all things internet would just be another straw on the camel's back that he promptly Ignores until it goes away on its own after he acclimates to his new surroundings.

Like as the peak lord naturally he would be doing this kind #of stuff but hes NOT the peak lord but to keep up appearances he has to know how to do this stuff. and finds it??? actually quite rewarding #even more than getting into an argument online or getting a new merch item. he's making or doing this stuff. he starts drawing and finishes #a piece and regardless of its skill level he feels something unclog in his chest. like sediment being scraped off the bottom of a creek and #being washed downstream. a weight that's been slogging through his veins suddenly untangled. physical proof of his efforts that feels great #starry is incapable of NOT giving her favorite blorbos more hobbies. starry is incapable of not giving her favorites artsy hobbies #this is probably NOT a new or original thought whatsoever but im throwing it out there anyways bc it fascinates me. i love transmigration #and albeit i've only read isekai manhwa/manhua there's a common theme of the people there assimilating into their new lives relatively quic #which i know is for ease of transition and getting to the rest of the story. but WHAT IF.#i have still not read svsss yet and idk when i'll be able to BUT have some thoughts anyways
