I'm still reeling from Daniel Ricciardo's exit from Formula One at the end of last season. Do you think we'll see him back in the sport in another capacity? I don't know if Danny wants to come back. I was told at the moment he's pretty happy not to be around Formula One and I think it's a good thing. So at least he [can] digest what happened, and then maybe he finds the energy and the love for the sport again and comes back, because I think he would be a very good ambassador for the sport. I do not think he's coming back as a driver. I do not think that Danny wants to be a manager or something like that in a day-to-day job, he doesn't want that at all. So I hope he comes back as an ambassador or maybe on TV, because he's one of these guys which a lot of people know and which are happy to have around. He's so fun and such a huge personality and gave so much to the sport but his exit was very quiet, very low key. Do you think that's how he wanted it? I don't think it was his choice. I mean, you know, how it was done. I found [it] a little bit weird how it all happened. It happened quick and he just disappeared almost. I think, first of all, he didn't want to exit at all at that time and secondly, if there was an exit, it could have been done in a way which would help the sport but also Danny, because I think he got a little bit shocked of the exit, how it was done.

omfg . radio play version of much ado with david as benedick from 2001
#this version of benedick is a lottttt more serious and restrained than the 2011 version#definitely due to the medium and bc it matches the energy of this version of beatrice way better#it's not david and catherine's insane comedic chemistry but it's still really good imo..#like it's obviously not as endlessly fucking funny as the 2011 version but it's still really solid#and i'm impressed with how they did the humor in a 100% audio format#and i actually really love this interpretation of benedick as more cynical and leaning into his Hater side#ironically david's benedick here generally comes off as older and more mature than his benedick 10 years later#'the prince's fool... hAhH???' is obviously extremely funny but also 'the prince's fool... [uppity hmph]' is Inspired#and his outraged 'oh!'s and gasps and sighs when he listens to don pedro/claudio/leonato talking abt beatrice being in love with him#also funnily enough i think benedick's whole monologue after this is SO good. if not better than the 2011 version#cuz it's more restrained you have benedick's haterism actively fighting and losing against his satisfaction and giddy laughter#and the bit where benedick challenges claudio is so ohhhghhgouhgghg#the way his voice deepens with 'and her death shall fall heavy on you' just FLOORS me it's fucking perfect#but also equally as fun are the line readings where they have evidently remained the same (or similar)#my dearrrrr ladyyyy disdaiiiiinnnn#and the 'she misused me past the endurance of a block' rant#and when he's bitching about claudio falling in love w hero#but the vibes are so different this feels like a whole separate guy and that's really cool#i'm not sure how much i would love this production overall if i wasn't as familiar w the play tho#much ado#shakespeare#essentially trying to say in the least embarrassing way possible that david tennant is now both my first and second favorite benedick

In Happy Hotel AU, what do you think happens when Charlie brings little Alastor to heaven? Will the angels be shocked that such a young soul is tossed into Hell? I can imagine the court scene being much different with Charlie bringing Alastor into her argument of there are some souls that do not belong in Hell.
I think it’s around here along with the reveal of extermination that Alastor heritage is somehow revealed. Being the child of the devil does send you straight to hell regardless if you are a good person or not. This might show that Heaven does not know everything and is in the dark as Hell in judgment of souls. Charlie and Lucifer are in for a surprise after everything happened in Heaven.
In addition to this, how do you think the final battle with Adam will be? They are certainly not bringing a baby into the fold and with no adult Alastor around they won’t have the information on angelic steel or recruitment of the cannibals from Rosie. Maybe Lucifer could give them a hand?
Wow, from what I seen so far Alastor really pulled his weight in helping the Hotel in canon.
Lucifer was the one who suggested that Charlie bring Aster* to Heaven to show the leaders that there were at least some souls in Hell that didn't deserve to be wiped out. Although Lucifer had his own underlying motives for this suggestion - hoping Sera or one of the angels would keep Aster in Heaven, where he'd be safe - Charlie believes in it wholeheartedly. She argues earnestly that if Heaven rejected the soul of a two-year-old child whose worst action on Earth couldn't have been worse than a common temper tantrum, then it's not only possible but in fact very likely that the Exorcists aren't just slaughtering mass murderers or rapists, but perfectly average people who were only later warped by their environment.
Granted, Charlie doesn't believe even the worst, cruelest human souls deserve genocide ending in complete erasure from existence either. She's simply using this argument as a starting point to convince Heaven's leadership to at least reexamine whether the Exterminations are truly necessary.
They use the glowy magicky ball thing to examine Aster's life. As they watch the scene of his death, Aster buries his little face in Vaggie's chest and Vaggie wants to smash Sera's nose in for showing that while Aster's in the courtroom. They go further back, effectively watching Aster's life in reverse (learning his birth name along the way, though the Aster nickname sticks) and Charlie feels tears welling up in her eyes as she realizes the reason the human in the memory looks so familiar is because she's identical to that Winner she and Emily met at the zoo. Aster keeps reaching for her image and yelling 'ma.' They go back further, and further, to the very beginning of his life.
Then to the night of his conception.
The... the night of, not the exact moment. They see Nicaise meeting Lucifer in human disguise, and cut to black before things get inappropriate for a court room.
Needless to say, the 'You Didn't Know' song takes on an additional meaning.
The aftermath is a bit similar to what I described here as far as Sera confronting Lucifer about Aster's creation. But the more immediate reaction in the courtroom is pure chaos. Adam is laughing his ass off and outright mocking Charlie, Charlie's frozen to the spot staring at the still image of her dad with this human, the various higher ranked angels are arguing with one another, torn between wanting to take Aster and lock him away or banish him and Charlie and Vaggie back to Hell, and Sera's eyes are locked on Aster, her heart stuck in her throat.
Ultimately, she declares Aster belongs in Hell just like any Hellborn and there's no proof that Sinners are capable of redemption. And then she ejects the three of them from the courtroom. Aster sobs the whole time and Charlie never even gets a chance to take him back to Nicaise.
As for the battle at the hotel.
Yeah, Alastor really did pull his weight, despite what some might say. Without Alastor uncovering the angels' weakness, or showing Charlie where to recruit an army, Charlie's focus is more on evacuation and defense rather than a counterattack. Lucifer brings Aster to the palace. Now knowing that Aster is in fact his child. Over the past six months, he's built a pretty strong bond with the little guy, but he's been acting more in the role of a grandparent, since Charlie and Vaggie assumed primary care over him after finding him on their doorstep. He's torn over the revelation, and it doesn't help when Aster looks up at him with those big, ruby eyes and says 'Anpè!*'
Ultimately, it's Vaggie who comes up with the exorcists' weakness. While reminiscing over hers and Charlie's first meeting, it hits her that Lute should not have been able to permanently injure her the way she had. Up until now, Vaggie had assumed that she was truly Fallen. That by sparing demon she'd lost her divine protection and that's why she could be maimed. It's only now that she begins to consider another possibility. But if she's going to tell Charlie, that means she'll have to tell Charlie everything. In the chaos of the heavenly court, Adam didn't get a chance to reveal her secret but Vaggie knows she can't keep it forever. Especially not if she wants to help Charlie achieve her dream.
She braces herself. Then, she tells Charlie her theory that exorcists can be harmed by angelic steel. Her evidence? Her empty eye socket.
Like in canon, Charlie is shocked and hurt that Vaggie kept this secret for so long. But unlike canon, this Vaggie told her the truth herself. That goes a long way towards softening the blow.
That just leaves them in need of manpower to wield enough angelic steel to turn back the exorcist army. So Charlie puts out an announcement to all of the Pride Ring; the exorcists can be killed. She knows how to defeat them but in order to win they're going to have to work together. She invites anyone willing to fight alongside her to come to the Happy Hotel to finally take a stand against Heaven.
No one shows up. At least, not for the first two days.
On the morning of the third day, Rosie appears at the front gates of the hotel with a pack of bloodthirsty cannibals.
Of course, Rosie isn't offering to help Charlie out of the goodness of her heart. As Alastor says, Charlie is filled with potential and in need of a guide. To which Rosie gleefully sings:
Tumblr media
"I concur! Stick with her, you'll be on the winning side!"
Rosie knows there's a lot to gain from allying herself with Hell's princess. And if the rest of the Overlords are too blind to realize that, well, that suits her just fine and dandy! Their loss is her gain!
(*Toddler Alastor's nickname in this AU, as of this post.)
(*Mispronunciation of 'granpè.' Unfortunately I haven't had much luck finding a resource for Louisiana Creole, so sometimes I substitute Haitian Creole terms. I'm not really sure how much or little overlap there is.)

Feeding you guys headcanons whilst I work on something. Anyway..
Josh Sauchak headcanons‼️‼️
(Take this figure of him I made the other day but forgot to show as well)
Tumblr media
(Headcanons that are marked with ‘established relationship’ mean that it’s in the event that it’s with a lover!)
- PARALLEL PLAY PARALLEL PLAY PARALLEL PLAY‼️‼️ IT IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF HIS LOVE LANGUAGES‼️ Sometimes hangouts will usually involve the indulgence of hobbies within the vicinity of who he’s hanging out with.
- (Established relationship hc) At the start of the relationship or when you instigate physical affection with him, he tends to tense up and at times even shift and give a little bit of space between you two. Upon talking the whole ordeal out, he’ll try to be more open to receiving physical affection such as letting you put your head on his shoulder.
- (Established relationship hc) Observant of your feelings and behaviour. Later on in the relationship, it gets to a point where he can pick up patterns in your conversations with him.
(E.g my partner picked up on a pattern with me anytime I yapped to him about Aiden Pearce. In his words: “Aiden is so Interesting to analyse :3!!!”, “Am I overanalysing a mediocre game character from a mediocre franchise.”, “I LOVE AIDEN PEARCE 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥”).
Sometimes the observant behaviour isn’t all that positive, as with this he jumps to conclusions in situations that you are under distress.
- Penguin pebbling. At random occasions he can gift a trinket to those he’s fond of, whether it be a random feather or stone, a scrap circuit board that he turned into a keychain, a piece of leftover scrap metal from building with a texture that he’s fond of, etc.
- Goes quiet when someone vents to him but contributes a word or two every so often as he feels bad not giving an answer
- Emotionally unpredictable. His resting face and tone makes it hard to tell how he feels, and at times can go quiet minutes after being talkative, which can leave you with a mixed bag of whether or not he’s pissed, neutral, happy or just wanting to be quiet.
- On a rare occasion or two will show physical affection to you or to those he’s close to without going tense. It can involve hand holding, hugging, playing with one’s face (tugging at your cheek, squeezing them or just simple caresses), resting his head on one’s shoulder & playing with their hair. But it’s only when he’s the one giving it.
- Had a habit of hoarding things like plushies or figures when he was a kid, and usually kept them in a space where it was an unorganised chaos that only he was able to transcribe. He was able to learn to let go of the hoarding habit, but still does it on an occasion or two.
- Give him a new pair of shoes that he’s comfortable with and months later they will look messy and well worn (e.g. white trainers? Nah those things are coming back slightly dirty and a bit yellowed)
- When any figures or display collectibles arrive, he has a specific ritual that he remembers off by heart and has been doing it since childhood, in which he’d rearrange his space, clean his hands and put on a set of gloves to delicately place and display the figure as to not damage it or ruin it
- An absolute sucker for chewing things when he’s bored. When he was a kid he chewed on packaging peanuts because the texture stimulated him. He eventually learned to drop the habit for more better alternatives like sweets or chewelry.
- At one point was really bad at keeping his room clean due to his hoarding habit that when he saw his friend’s room that was tidy and organised looking, he got envious and proceeded to clean his room; ranting from his shelves, floor, bed, tables and desk.
- Secretly likes to cook but is scared of what the other dedsec members might think of it as he isn’t the type of person to add seasoning.
- (Continuing from previous) Likes to ease out of his comfort zone with flavour slowly by researching, then proceeding to season the food he makes with the stuff he currently has at home.
- Had a special interest in glitch wars that lasted for 2 years. (Glitch wars as in the videogame in the in-game universe)
- (Established relationship hc) Sometimes will randomly approach you and declare that he wishes to squeeze your skull affectionately.
- (Established relationship hc) one time you made a specific food item for dinner. He fell in love with it. Only thing is he will only eat that specific food item if you make it, because he only likes it that way. Any other form it is made he will immediately decline it, even if it’s from a restaurant.

Mancando Doloroso
It was his fifth, maybe sixth attempt at climbing the Spire.
The shooter in his hands felt weighty and unwieldy; he knew his way around a splattershot, sure, but this one was hard to manage. Every shot left him feeling drained.
"It's a part of their soul," Marina had supplied so helpfully when Sen confided the heaviness the weapon provided.
He didn't think Delta had had so much to weigh on them to make this sleek white shooter feel like lead in his hands. It made him feel...actually, he wasn't sure how to feel. So, he doubled down and didn't let himself dwell on it.
The floor ahead loomed, cast in harsh flourescent light; even from behind the bars of a silver cage, Sen could see his opponent waited on the opposite side of the room.
There were two to start, this time. The twentieth floor was never kind, the fragmentation more severe. It made Sen's chest ache. The cage dropped out from under him, and Pearl caught him without hesitation.
She rambled off something he wasn't listening to and must have realized his attention lie elsewhere because she fell silent halfway through her sentence. The unusual stop almost jerked Sen back to the present, but he was determined.
The first of the masked inklings dropped in, wielding a brush. Its shiny metal face flashed as it swung at Sen, red eyes faulting for a moment as they searched for where he'd dropped into his own ink.
Swiftly, Sen lunged up from the muted orange ink, grappling one-handedly with the opposing inkling. He stuck his foot out; they tripped over it, stumbling, and it gave Sen purchase to wrench the brush out of their hands.
"Delta," he said firmly, pulling the inkling out of the sickly black ink they were standing in and into his own. The masked inkling tilted their head, trying to shove him away.
"Stop," Sen pleaded, low voice insistent. "Delta, I want to help you."
The inkling shook their head, voice warped by the smooth metal mask on their face. The heavy ink coating their body wavered, damaged by Sen's own. The octoling squeezed their wrist, mouth ajar to say something else, when they fell apart into a puddle of ink that stuck to his palm and oozed between his fingers, into the white of his shoes.
Sen jolted back, returning his grip to the shooter in his hands. The weight of it made him want to cringe, as the second of his opponents finally caught up to him. The ex-agent didn't hesitate to strike the roller down; the expression on his face easily read as disturbed.
Pearl whizzed close to his ear, making Sen tilt his head to avoid the blades of the drone's propeller.
"Hey!" She bumped into his shoulder purposefully. "Eight, c'mon. Get your head in the game!"
Sen opened his mouth and shut it again, widening his stand. The next wave was starting. He had to get through to at least one of them.
A blaster-wielding copy of the inklings from before rushed him, it's shots popping in the space between them and spattering slick black ink across the empty ground. Sen had neglected to claim any turf between waves; he was paying for it now.
The blaster gave him no room to get in close, and Sen shot them down without a second thought. It didn't get any easier to watch them succumb to the onslaught and their body liquefy into an unrecognizable stain on the floor.
Sen peppered off a few shots, hiding the evidence of the kill. He rounded on the next - a slosher insistent on trying to cover as much ground as possible. The octoling gritted his beak, grinding his fangs together. He threw caution to the wind and rushed the slosher.
The cloying black ink sprayed over him, seeping through his armor and shattering some pieces of the holographic tech. Regardless, Sen got what he wanted; he raised his knee quickly, jostling the slosher out of his adversary's hands. It clattered uselessly to the ground.
The inkling paused and drew their hands to their chest. They ran.
"No!" Sen lunged after them, giving chase, but the inkling pitched over the side of the platform and into the endless abyss below. Sen went off the side after them.
His hand caught in the deployed handle Pearl had to offer, and with some difficulty, she righted him on the platform of the room again. The drone deployed a bomb, which bounced to the feet of an approaching brella. It got caught in the brella's shield and exploded, spraying orange ink into the face of another masked inkling.
That one pitched backward, sinking unceremoniously into a puddle of ink.
"Eight," Pearl's projected eyes narrowed. "What's going on? Come on, take care of this!"
Sen waved the drone off. He was running out of chances.
"I have to get one of them alone," he looked up at Pearl, who wavered in midair; she was unsure of where he was going with this.
Pearl tilted up in the direction of the enemy cage, already bringing along another brush. "You got it."
Sen nodded. The octoling was glad to have her support.
The brush was another bust; this one never even made it to him, caught in his ink. Briefly, Sen wished he hadn't invested in those poison ink chips, wanting to tear them right out of the palette if it meant he could get his hands on one of these masked inklings.
The roller gave him more trouble than he'd admit, tracking wide swaths of black ink across the floor that had Sen frustrated. He gunned them down out of impulse and moved on.
Pearl, to her credit, tried to get the blaster in a corner. Unfortunately, she lost track of them under a swarm of jelletons that the enemy drone deployed. Occupying herself as a sprinkler to try and cover ground, Pearl didn't notice the blaster until it had already fallen prey under a poorly-placed bomb. Sen watched the altercation out of the corner of his eye and resolved to forgive her botched effort.
He was down to the dualies and the shooter; the latter seemed to have perched at the top platform, watching Sen's desperate display from the safety of its ledge. He had no doubt they'd come down and face him when they were good and ready.
The dualies certainly were eager to take a shot at him, and their mobility gave Sen a real run for his money. He struggled to keep up.
The octoling frowned to himself, sidestepping as the inkling came rolling right past him. He lunged at them, knocking one dualie out of their hand and pushing them down on uninked ground.
Pearl hovered nearby, spinning nervous circles. The shooter-wielding inkling watched from above.
Sen pinned his target's chest under his hips, knee dug painfully into their wrist.
"Delta," he pleaded for what felt the dozenth time since he started this endeavor. "Please, I don't want to fight you."
He dropped his shooter aside. The absence of weight as it left his hands had Sen feeling more confident. His fingertips traced the edge of the inkling's mask, and they stopped struggling.
Sen's hearts sank in his chest. The seam of the mask was completely smooth, as if the shiny metal had been fused into their face.
"No," he mumbled, trying to dig his claws down. The inkling under him writhed as thin beads of black ink pushed up around his sharp nails. "No, no, no. Delta, please."
The inkling tried to kick him off, and Sen nearly let them. He tried again to pry up the mask, and it was starting to give. The octoling slid his fingertips under the edge as it rose. His mouth watered unpleasantly as more black ink oozed out from under the mask, frighteningly warm. It stuck to the inside of the mask as he pried it off.
There was nothing underneath. The inkling splattered into a puddle under his knees.
"Eight!" Pearl warned, deploying a suction bomb.
Instantly, Sen grabbed his shooter and rolled to the side. The enemy shooter had joined the fight with a massive splashdown.
Sen's vision blurred. He wanted to be sick. He didn't have time.
"Looking for me?" The inkling's voice warbled.
Sen got to his feet. The shooter was approaching casually; unsure, Sen's body tensed as he waited for the inevitable attack. It didn't come. Pearl puttered nervously nearby.
"Sen," the voice went on, as the inkling toed the line of Sen's orange ink. "Come here."
He shook his head and gripped tight on his shooter so much that he nearly squeezed the trigger on accident. A part of him wasn't sure if he was refusing the order or warning them not to step into his ink in its poisoned state.
The inkling pressed on, beginning to struggle through the ink towards Sen. It was clear they were taking damage.
"Delta," he breathed as the inkling adversary suddenly dropped their weapon. This had never happened before. Why now? "Please, let me - let me help you."
"Sen," Delta's voice skipped and pitched in weird ways, "Sen it hurts, please - make it stop - where's Gamma?"
Then sharp static cut through their voice, and Delta's head rolled to the side limply. They fell to their knees, silvery mask beginning to slide off their face. Tarlike ink oozed against it as the metal clattered to the floor, still connected by thick ropes of viscous ink.
Delta's body dropped limply to the floor. Sen sank to their side, weapon discarded; his hands pulled fistfuls of their blackened jacket into his grasp.
He begged, quietly, for them not to disappear; even if he knew that they'd fight again. He wouldn't be able to explain it to Gamma: that he'd failed, that he was going to fail again and again and again.
Over, and over, and over and over again.
Delta's body was quickly liquefying under his touch, a thin veneer of semi-transparent ink floating atop the thick black. Sen's stomach churned as he recognized it as blood.
