ok ive finally caught up w the recent episodes of crash course in romance and I have some THOUGHTS about this show.

It's a bit long so I'm adding the read more option!

first off. I'm so scared that we only have two episodes there's so much to unpack :

- Mr. Ji and his whole reveal , how it impacts choi chiyeol

nam hai-yi waking up, her mom coming back and how that impacts nam haeng seon

, the friend group, all the student drama and conflicts from the hallucinations to the cheating,

the side romances and everything too.

there's so much wtf !!!

i disagree with people who say that the murders were unnecessary and the show should've stuck to the romance.

the reason mr ji is murdering is linked to the fact that the intense concept of rigorous studies, for a 'good future', is set up for failure.

Otherwise this way you could say they shouldn't have added the hallucinations su-ah is having and the breakdown kids face. :/

It fucks people up, (like idolising someone so much you could murder for them lol)

I don't wanna be rude I get wanting to just see the romance and lighthearted scenes, I did too in the start when they introduced this plot.

I just think that the murder plot is nicely integrated into the story and is elemental for putting the point across!

It's very nice to see the type of romance that chiyeol and haengseon have.

Their love doesn't appear very physically, but emotionally. We see them constantly reassuring and accepting each other. They notice when the other is feeling troubled and they trust each other to share their concerns. When one sets up boundaries the other respects it

(somewhat, I just remembered when haengseon teased chiyeol for his whole rant of her being to friendly lol)

It's very in character for both imo. Haengseon, her entire life, has focused on living for her brother and neice. She's never had anyone who notices and shares her burdens.

Chiyeols never had emotional support in his life (not career lol) who would be there for him. His own words 'you're my second savior, following your mother'

ofcourse I do think that with the lives they've lead physical comfort is a HUGE thing both of them would crave for- we saw that with their sleeping scenes lol

The triangular love

This is just me guessing but I think with only two episodes left , and so many side plots open, there won't be any conclusion between who hae-yi gets in a relationship with.

Just plot wise, it might be geon-hu because he's not facing any major trauma like seonjae is, and there's no conflict between him and haeyi rn

Although I'm sure seon jae and hae yi will be fine after a conversation.

Personally I'd prefer this because I hate when one perosn is rejected, especially because I love both of them sm.

Also side note, but Dan ji was kept out of the loop again, and im sure she must've caught on. It'd be interesting if they talked about that but I doubt it

another side note, question really. when the students first found out about the car accident, did su-ah think it was her fault? Like did she think that she actually did it instead of hallucinating it? I'm not sure if I interpretated it wrong lol

"I'm sorry" feels numb to say at this point. You still say it, standing at the foot of what should have been your marriage bed. It's been a long night and you'd wrung your hands of dish soap until your family practically barked at you to get to bed, to get back to your husband.

You can still hear them, cackling downstairs in the living room while your nieces and nephews tumble through the hallway. It must feel alien to have your childhood home, long devoid of familial joy, be suddenly bursting full of it. And have none of it mean anything to you.

Bruce stands shoulder to shoulder with you for a few more beats. Then he walks to the door, and you watch him twist the lock with a firm click. Your heart picks up a bit.

His steps are muted on the carpet and you take in his shoulders, the rolling hills of muscles in his back, and the pants that cling to the divots of his hip bones. The black cashmere is a gift from your mother, something preferable to his "ratty" sweats. He didn't like these very much.

Since you'd started living here, you caught glimpses of him like this. A heavy shadow of a man skulking in the darkness, waiting for you to leave for work before revealing himself. Rarely would you find yourselves crossing paths in the kitchen or catching eyes in the living room. And with each fleeting glance, he would escape elsewhere, receding into the tower the way a frightened cat might hide from strangers. Intruders. Funnily enough, you found avoiding eye contact helped that.

But now there was nowhere to run. Your family was here for the holidays and they were in every room. Eyes everywhere.

"Do you need to work tonight?" You'd started calling it that: "work". It made sense around the family (not so much your mother), and it didn't put him on edge when you skirted around the "B" word. "I can help you get downstairs."

He's half-turned to you, waiting on his side of the bed, so you can see the way his face scrunches up at a thought, "Gordon... told me to take time off. For family."

You snort, "You told him the in-laws were in town?"

"Yes."

You blink, "Oh."

Bruce had told you that between you and Alfred, no one else knew who Batman was. The lieutenant, trusted friend and ally as he were, had yet to join the ranks of your prestigious little club. It felt wrong to be in it when he wasn't; you'd forced yourself into it, and Bruce didn't even trust you.

You round the bed opposite to Bruce, and staring across it at him felt like staring across an ocean—he was so far away. You wondered how many people had shared this bed with him. How many he trusted as little as you.

You understand that the Bruce you remember was still a boy, grieving much differently than he is now, and had liked you just a little bit more.

You're the first to draw back the covers.

Bruce watches you settle in before following suit, reluctant, as if he were still wondering about the cons of sleeping in his car tonight. The weight of the bed dramatically shifts and you glide against the silk to his side when he lays down, your hand going for his upper arm to steady yourself. He jolts at the contact, staring you down like a deer in headlights.

Your second sorry of the night spills from your lips, and you squirm away from the warmth of his side and back to the edge of the bed.

You both lay like that for a while, side by side, neither of you particularly comfortable.

"Why didn't you say no?"

His question rocks the stillness in the air. You almost jolt. You turn your head and ask, as casually as you are able, "Say no to what?"

"The marriage."

Ah. "You've met my mother. It's hard to say no to her. Isn't that why you're in this situation in the first place?"

He remains looking up at the ceiling, but you see his jaw constrict, "The you I knew had a backbone."

He means it to hurt. Reminders of your youth together had not softened with time, it seemed, even if he treated you like a distant memory. You don't muster up the courage to bite back at him. Instead, you tuck your tail and keep the mist from gathering in your eyes, "...Yeah."

He doesn't seem to have expected that response. He finally turns his head to look at you, visibly confused. For a few moments, the two of you just stare at each other. Him, analyzing. You... mourning. "Is this what you wanted?"

It's becoming harder to hold back tears, "Not this. Not with her pulling all the strings. Regardless of what you think about me, or my mother, or my family, I didn't want any of this. I don't... want to be your enemy, Bruce."

You want so badly for him to believe you. You've never wanted anything more than for him to see you honestly, transparently, except perhaps to see him the same. To not have to fight.

He's about to say something when the doorknob wriggles, followed by a tentative knock. The two of you sit up and listen for who could be at the door, until a small voice calls your name through the wood, "My niece." You say, rigid. "She must be lost." You go to stand but to your surprise, Bruce is already at the door letting her in.

She stands at just about his knee, blanket clutched in her chubby arms and mouth hidden by the purple fleece. She has to turn her head all the way up to look him in the eyes, "Uncle Bruce," she says through a lisp, "where's the bathroom?"

You can't fully see Bruce's reaction from the bed. From the side, you watch his shoulders sag and his cheek rise in what you think is... a smile.

Very slowly, he comes to a crouch in front of her, "The bathroom?" He asks. She nods an affirmative. "Why didn't you ask Grandpa Alfred? He knows where everything is."

Her eyes dart to the side, rocking back and forth on the balls of her feet, "...Grandpa Alfred is scary."

Bruce laughs, actually laughs. He hasn't laughed around you. Hasn't managed more than a smile today, and only to placate your mother. He's warmer too, more open. You watch him. Mesmerized. "He is a little scary, isn't he? But I promise, he's really nice if you get to know him." Your niece doesn't seem so convinced. A moment passes as Bruce thinks of what to say, "How about I come with you to go ask him?"

Her eyes light up, "Really?"

"Really."

Bruce holds out his arms to her, and though she's reluctant, you watch her tumble into them with arms thrown around his neck. He hops back to his feet with her perched on his hip like she weighs nothing—and she probably does, to him—and asks her in a hushed voice if she's holding on tight.

Her little head turns to look at you over his shoulder and he follows, his smile weakening some.

You almost ask if she'd like you to come with, but think better of it. In the time it would take Bruce to complete this task, you could try to fall asleep. Maybe then it'd be easier on him to share the bed with you, "Go with Uncle Bruce. Maybe Grandpa Alfred will show you the fancy swords if you're brave enough to ask."

Your niece beams, urging Bruce to take her to him this instant, and they disappear out of sight.

You're half conscious when Bruce returns and shuts the door, but there is no click of the lock to follow after.

With your back turned, all you have to tell you where he is in the room are his small sighs. He's on his side, closer than you expected him to be so quickly, and you curse the carpet that hides his footfalls. You keep your breaths measured, pretending you're fully asleep, and wait for him to climb in.

One knee presses into the mattress, then the other, and you quickly remember the problem with this bed.

He's just laid on his side when you go sliding backwards, feeling your body collide with his chest. You force your eyes to stay closed but you are chilled with mortification. Should you move? Give up the facade of sleep and scramble for the other side of the bed? Would he shove you away?

You wait for his heavy hand to fall on your back, but... nothing. Seconds crawl forward at a snail's pace. You can feel the heat of his hand hovering over your hip where your night shirt had ridden up, but he never touches you. You take slow, deep breaths. You wait for him to wake you, then, if he won't shove you.

But that also never comes. The tips of his fingers lightly brush the skin of your hip, and then disappear. You feel his arm wiggle between the both of you, feel him shift a bit on the mattress, but nothing more. He doesn't push you away. Doesn't call your name. Doesn't shake you until you're forced to crawl to the other side.

He gets comfortable. Stiff, but comfortable, and he doesn't move you. You wonder, as the heat of his chest makes you conscious of your heart beating quicker, if it's too late to crawl back on your own.

You wait for what feels like hours contemplating it. So long, it feels like he might've fallen asleep behind you. So long, that you melt into his side of the mattress. So long, that sleep comes and morning soon after before you could even make up your mind.

I’m Having His Baby

Joe and I have been married for two months now. We just got back from our honeymoon in The Maldives. It was like something out of a postcard. It was beautiful and calm. Joe and I had the best time. Just being in his presence makes me happy so getting a week of him all to myself self was the most wonderful thing ever! He made me laugh my face off every minute, He made dinner when we weren’t going out to explore new food, and when we got in the pool or in the ocean he would pick me up and I would wrap my legs around his waist and we would just stay there admiring each other and laughing until we couldn’t breathe.

It had been two days since we got back from our trip. It is the offseason but Joe still needs to go into the facility for some meetings and QB work. I on the other hand have not been feeling well. I’ve been nauseous and tired. I can’t even drink my coffee with out gagging.

I was in the kitchen trying to drink my coffee when my phone rang.

“Y/n!”- Brooke

“Hey, Brooke.”- you

“Hey…is everything ok?”- Brooke

“Not really. I’ve been nauseous and tired ever since we got back.”- You

“Oh. Maybe you got a little something. Or are you about to get your period?”- Brooke

“No, I was supposed to get it three days ago. I don’t know why- OH MY GOD.”- you put your hand over your mouth.

“IM LATE BROOKE! Three days late! Im never late. It all makes sense.”- you

I tried to stay calm. Because what if I wasn’t and we are just making a big deal out of nothing? Could I be pregnant? It lines up. I’m late on my period. I’ve been nauseous. I’ve been feeling so tired. Gosh, what if I am? How will Joe react? He’s not ready. I’m not ready. I’ve always wanted to be a mom but not yet. Not now. But if I am, I will love this baby no matter what. And knowing I have an amazing husband by my side I know I will get through it.

“Okay, it should come in the next hour.”- you

I took a deep breath.

“You ok?”- Brooke

“I don’t know, Brooke.”- you

“Hey, what ever happens I’m here for you. I will be there for the baby and you and Joe. Don’t worry. It will be ok.”- Brooke

“Thanks, Brooke. Means a lot. Do you mind if you could come over? I don’t want to be alone.”- You

I hung up.

I started to get a little emotional. Who knows what I’m going to find out in the next hour.

We were in my bathroom. I had the test faced down on the counter near Joes side.

I took a deep breath.

“Yeah.”- you

My heart started to race.

I picked it up and flipped it over. There it was two blue lines. I’m pregnant.

I covered my mouth. Tears started to roll down my cheeks.

“Your..your pregnant?”- Brooke

She got up and came over to me. She saw the lines and covered her mouth. She was so happy. I looked at her.

“You’re pregnant, Y/n!”- Brooke

I started to laugh a little. It’s really happing. I’m having his baby. Joe’s baby. Our baby.

Brooke hugged me tight. We started to laugh and cry together. We couldn’t believe it. We had my phone recording. I showed the camera.

“I can’t believe it.”- you

“Same! You will be an amazing mother.”- Brooke

She hugged me again.

“And you will be an amazing aunt.”- You

We looked at each other for a second. Then started bursting out laughing again. Me a mom? Brooke an aunt? Who would have thought. The two best friends who said in middle school that they will die old together and hop through bars in there 90s will be a mom and an aunt. With a husband and a boyfriend.

Brooke stopped the video. She started looking through it. Tears still flowing.

Tears started to stream again.

“What about Joe? He’s not ready to be a dad. He said it.”- you

“Awe, y/n. He’s going to be an amazing dad. He loves you so deeply, y/n. He will text me and call me and talks about you for hours. I usually just text or call him to tell him to tell you to pick up your phone. But he will go on and on about how amazing and beautiful his wife is. He called me today actually asking if you have been acting weird lately. Saying that you don’t feel well and you have never been this weak or tired before. He was so worried, y/n. He loves you. And doesn’t he always talk about how he will love to have a family with you?”- Brooke

“Yeah.. he does.”- You

“See? He will be there for you and the baby.”- Brooke

“Yeah. I guess you’re right.”- you

“What time does he come back?”- Brooke

“Around 6ish.”- You

“Ok, how about I go to target and get a onesie or something to tell him. So nobody sees you.”- Brooke

“That would be great! Thanks, B.”- you

“Of course. I will be back.”- Brooke

She hugs me one last time then goes and gets in her car.

Brooke came back with a number nine bengals onesie and some flowers and chocolate for me! I couldn’t ask for a better best friend. She then later left and I was left alone until Joe comes home.

I decided to lay out the onesie on the counter along with the test.

Any minute Joe will be home. Just as I was about to look out the window to see him pulling in he came. I ran quickly to the kitchen. I heard the door connecting from the garage open.

“Babe?”- Joe

“I’m in the kitchen!”- You

I heard his footsteps along the floor.

He turned the corner and there I was.

“Hey, baby!”- Joe

I ran up and hugged him.

“Hi! How was your day?”- You

“Long. I couldn’t wait to come home to you.”- Joe winked

I playfully rolled my eyes

“How was your day?”- Joe

“Um well, how about I show you what I found out about today?”- you

Joe was a little confused.

“Um, ok!”- Joe

“Just…close your eyes.”- you

“Alright…”- Joe

He closed his eyes shut. I took his hand and brought him around the counter. I let go of his hand and took a deep breath.

“Ok, you can look.”- you

He open his eyes and he instantly landed on me. I smiled then shot my eyes towards the layout on the counter.

His eyes then was drawn to where I was looking.

His face shot up!

“I’m…I’m going to be a dad?”- Joe

I nodded my head

He looked at me with tears welling in his eyes and a huge smile.

He picked me up.

“Oh my goodness! I’m so happy, baby!”- Joe

I squealed.

He then put me down with his arms still around me.

My eyes started to get teary.

“come here.”- Joe

He pulled me into his embrace.

“It’s going to be ok. Everything will be ok.”- Joe

His voice calmed me down.

He knew I was nervous to become a mom. We talked about having kids before. I was excited no doubt, but scared also.

I looked up at him.

“You are going to be an amazing mom to our baby, y/n. You are strong and kind. Smart and brave. I believe in you. And I love you, so much.”- Joe

He gave me a kiss on the forehead.

We just stood there for what felt like forever. Just taking it all in.

I filled his reaction and later edited it.

Joes family is in town. They came down for the summer. Both of his brothers and their family. Joe’s brother Jamie and his wife and three kids are staying with Robin and Jimmy. His other brother Daniel and his wife are staying at a friend’s house nearby. Tonight is a little family get together along with some of his cousins.

We ate dinner and all decided to sit in the living room enjoying each others company.

Joe pulled me more into him as I was just sitting next to him.

He whispered In my ear.

“I think we should tell them, baby.”- Joe smiled

I smiled back.

“Okay!”- Joe

Joe cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention

“So, y/n and I have something we want to tell you.”- Joe smiled

“But mom... I love him very much and he loves me! I don't understand what the problem is with us moving in together.” You whispered while petting minnie and that apparently made her even angrier.

“You are very innocent and stupid! Do you really think he's not going to get someone better than you? Please, if you don't even have experience in couples or dating stuff.” she said and you felt your heart break little by little. “You're not even pretty enough to be with someone like him, please, there are more prettier girls out there than you.”

Your mother has always had a facade in front of everyone, that facade of "I have the perfect family", but not everything is like that. Luca is applauded and glorified for having decided to be a driver, while she humiliate you because you didn't want to study economics, that never really caught your attention, so you decided to study literature and appreciate life from a more poetic point of view if you could say that. For your mother you were always the black sheep of the family, the disappointment and the dreamy girl, always imagining impossible things.

“I'm not... I'm not stupid.” you whispered timidly. “I... I don't understand... I just...” You whispered again, feeling like you were losing your voice in the process.

“And there you are again, babbling, like a baby” She said approaching you as if you were a prey. “And what will you do? Call your prince charming to save you? You know that's a bullshit.”

And sooner than expected, a punch hit your face, and then another and another, minnie began to meow and climb your leg while you did your best to stay upright. You had never seen your mother be so aggressive with you, never, she only hit you a few times but when you were younger and you didn't want to do chores, but this? It was already another level, it was like she was letting out all the frustration she feels with you. And the worst thing about it? It's just that not even your father or Luca were at home to defend you from her.

You tried to talk while you whimper. “Please... stop hurting me.” you begged, but she didn't stop, so with the little strength and endurance you had left you let go. “Stop fucking hurting me, I'm not your damned personal punch bag!” You screamed at her with the guts you never thought you had inside of you and then you ran with minnie in your arms to your bedroom and locked the door.

That was the straw that broke the camel's back, with blurred vision you collected some essential things in a bag, the decision was made, you were going to move in with Charles whether she likes it or not. With trembling hands you took your cell phone and you dialed Charles's number.

“Babe? Is everything okay?” he spoke on the other line and a sob left your lips. “Honey, why are you crying?”

“Bubba, could you... Could you... Could you look for me and minnie at home, please? I do not want to be here.” you said in a small whisper.

“It's okay honey, did something happen with your mom?” he said in a calm voice. “I'll put you on speakerphone, I'm with Luca, okay?”

You sigh. “Mom... she almost... hit.” you said with a broken voice and that was enough for them to understand.

“Don't worry bubbles, we're on our way. I'll deal with her.” You heard Luca say as he took Charles' cell phone.

You hung up and sighed, you didn't want to look in the mirror, you probably had something broken in your face, or a broken bone in your nose, a bleeding nose or something like that. You also collected minnie's things and some of your plushies, you were still a young woman with a little girl's soul.

The ride to Charles's —now your, apartment was a bit difficult, after the encounter between your mother and Luca, he yelled at her while she pretended to be innocent, she had never been like that to you. While Luca confronted your mother, Charles helped you collect more of your things and put them in suitcases, there were also some things left but they were not so necessary.

When you went up the elevator to the apartment you felt a sensation of perhaps peace and calm... You don't know how to decipher it exactly, but it's like a kind of release and maybe a new beginning.

“Welcome home princess.” Charles said with his soft voice opening the door to the apartment, it was a fairly spacious and minimalist place, you didn't remember it like that since a year ago you and Luca spent a lot of time here in the afternoons doing anything silly the three of you, like the old times.

It had windows that illuminated the space, a lot of F1 memorabilia, trophies and family photos and of the three of you as children. It felt cozy, maybe it was the sunlight coming through the window, the presence of minnie nestled in your arms, or the presence of Charles himself, but it felt like a cozy and comfy space where you will not be judged. You left Minnie on the floor and she began to walk around the place with big eyes.

“Charles... I do not know how...” you said between babbling and he just smiled softly.

“You don't have to thank me or anything chérie. It is the least I can do for you.” he kissed the tip of your nose softly. “What do you think we go to heal that ugly bump, you can change into comfy clothes and then we take care of unpacking, okay?” He asked and you nodded, he guided you through the apartment until you both reached the room, which will be your room.

He started looking for some things to heal the wounds left by your mother's punches, you sat on the bed and he began to heal your wounds with some alcohol and ointments, he healed your wounds with such care and delicacy.

“Ouch... By chance do I have a broken nose or something like that?” you asked.

He denied several times. “Nope darling, just a couple of hits that now turn a little bit purple... But it will heal soon love, don't worry.” He whispered and looked for a band-aid to put on the bumps. “For now we will put this nice and cute pink band-aid on and that is enough!” He whispered again and gave you a kiss on the nose.

“Thank you Charlie” you whispered shyly and he smiled softly.

“It's nothing honey, now why don't you get comfortable and take a shower?” He said softly as he gave you a hug and caressed your back.

“Okay babe.” you say softly and separate yourself from his embrace to go to the bathroom and take a shower... which is necessary after all that emotional and physical exhaustion on the part of your mother.

When you entered the bathroom you let everything flow; the emotions, the frustration and also the peace that not being there again gives you... Now being with Charles in his apartment was a change that was going to happen sooner or later for whatever reasons, what happened with your mother today was the time bomb that was needed to explode to finally make that decision.

“Hey, there you are, sweet candy!” Charles said with a soft voice and a smile on his face when he saw you enter the living room in sweatpants and one of his big t-shirts, apparently he had already arranged Minnie's things in the living room... To be honest it looked like a small playground with all the cat toys and cat trees scattered around, but you didn't care at all, it gave the place some personality. “I made you some tea! Maybe it will help you calm down, It's a red fruit tea, it's delicious!” He said and you couldn't help but let out a shy giggle as you blushed a little, he had these little gestures towards you that made your heart bigger little by little.

You smiled a little. “Have you already tried it charlie bear?” you asked while giggling.

“Well... Yes, I made some for myself too! It's very good, and I don't know, it reminded me of you.” he giggled. “Remember that time we went to the cat cafe and you found out they had tea?”

You nodded with a smile. “Yeah... That's where we tried this tea and we discovered that we wanted a cat.” You took a small sip trying not to burn yourself and you felt the heat of the liquid expand inside your body. “The difference is that the one in that cafe was not that hot.” you said looking at him with a serious face and he muttered a "sorry ma chérie" while smiling (my darling). “And the other thing is that... That tea might have had a little cat hair, but we'll ignore that.” You said and he laughed, you also laughed along with him as Minnie approached you to climb onto your lap.

Both of you continued sipping your teas while talking about anything, with Charles you could talk about any topic at all and you were never going to get bored, there was always something interesting to talk about. Suddenly he cleared his throat, assuming that here comes the important question of the day.

“Honey bear... What happened with your mother today?” he asked in a sweet voice.

You sighed heavily. “Well... She just asked me if we had actually adopted Minnie and then I told her that we wanted to move in together and well... She exploded, I guess, maybe she had a lot of anger built up towards me and well, it was her time to explode.” you said ironically. “But hey, I guess that's life after all, right?” You whispered and shrugged.

He remained silent listening to you until he then spoke. “Oh honey... She shouldn't have reacted that way and, if you look at it, it was a harmless thing, you were just making a comment.” He whispered as he brushed a strand of hair out of your face and brought you closer to his body.

“I know but... She just got angry and well, she had never hit me before.” You whispered against his chest. “And she also said things about... About us.”

He frowned worriedly. “What kind of things did she say amore?” he asked.

“Well, she said... She said I'm not pretty enough to be with you.” You paused briefly. “And that you wouldn't hesitate to get someone else and... She made me feel really bad about myself, you know?” you whispered and he held you even closer.

He snapped his tongue. “You do know she's wrong, right?” He asked and you nodded. “Perfect then... Because I want you to know that you are the most beautiful girl, okay? It doesn't matter if I repeat it to you every day or how many times, I just want you to know it.” He said and gave you a kiss on the cheek, then one on the tip of your nose, then another on your jaw and so on.

You gave a small giggle. “Charlie stop” you giggled again. “your stubble gives me tickles!” You say, breathless from laughing so much. “Okay no problem. I don't mind you telling me I'm pretty all the time, I actually appreciate it.”

He smiled when he heard your words and gave you several kisses on your lips, you felt your heart flutter at his sweet and cute action towards you, you let out a few giggles. You two smiled in the middle of the kiss, it was something so genuine and precious that it was practically impossible to describe. Minnie meowed into your lap and you moved a little away from Charles with a smile on your face.

“Apparently someone wants some attention.” you said smiling and he giggled. “I think we should share our love, don't you think?” you said giggling and he nodded.

“But of course, the little one in the house requires a lot of attention.” He said teasing you a little bit.

You acted offended. “I thought I was the little one in the house!” You put a hand on your chest. “I'm just kidding love, obviously Minnie is the little one here.”

He nodded as he stroked Minnie's fur. “You both are, you are my princesses.” He said and placed a kiss on your cheek, making you blush.

Maybe not everything is perfect or rosy all the time, maybe the problems with your mother will not be solved overnight, but with him and minnie, in some way, it's enough for you and it's going to be okay in the long run.

Oh, Condal never said that verbatim but he might as well have. I was just making a joke with how biased the writers are against doing anything that might take the spotlight away from Rhaenyra. Just this small moment between him and Sunfyre is what most people are talking about after the episode so imagine if we had unbiased writers.

Aegon and Sunfyre are literally known for their bond. It might be one of the strongest bonds between a dragon and its rider. At this point he's also been a rider for a decade and yet:

They literally directed him to make Aegon look like he doesn't know what he's doing on a dragon. (Just, why??!)

It's ridiculous at this point how biased they are.

I've given up after they said B&C was just greens propaganda and how they imagined you might start wanting to root for Blood and Cheese, the fucking child murderers. But must they take everything away from the greens? Then they also wanted to retcon the fact that Dreamfyre (Helaena's dragon) is likely the mother of Dany's dragons and made it Syrax (Rhaenyra's) instead.

As a result the writing suffers for everyone including Rhaenyra who I've seen casual viewers start to think of as boring, insufferable, and cliche.

It's also on the record that Aegon is deliberately made to look ugly and disheveled. TGC is a pretty mfer and he said they were trying their best to make him look like Chucky. 😭

TGC had to improvise that "do you love me" line to humanize Aegon because not only were they giving him absolutely nothing to work with, they also had to legitimize the unreliable rumors that he was a rapist.

I can imagine it must be so frustrating for TGC to be the only one to understand his character. He actually read the Dance! And I'm not sure if other cast members were so diligent. So he knows about Aegon being an important character in the events, only to be given this Ryan Condal and Sara Hess crack fic.

Author's note: I am starting to understand writers block... How does SJM and my fellow fic writers do this! This story was just a silly little thought i had in my head and now i'm writing thousands of words about it! My brain is running empty😭 But all of your love and support has made me want to keep writing! Luckily I popped some tunes on and one of my favorite songs came on! I encourage you to play it while you read this chapter because it what inspired it(hence the title)! It's called Banana Pancakes by Jack Johnson! But I have a couple of ideas to get more plot in this story, both dramatic and smut. For now just sit back and enjoy this short relaxing blerb before we start to kick the heat up a bit! LOVE YA😙

Summary: You and Lucien wake up slow and have a nice breakfast over banana pancakes.

Chapter 3: "Banana Pancakes"

You were woken up by the sunlight peering in through Lucien’s bedroom window. However, you didn’t want to move. You looked up to see Lucien still peacefully asleep with his arms around you. You couldn’t help but smile at the male. His beauty was so unique compared to the others. Sure, Azriel was handsome, but Lucien was handsome in a different kind of way, and you loved him for it. After your conversations, you truly learned how much he was put through. No one recognizes his trauma or spares his problems a glance. He was put through just as much, if not more, as the others he’s surrounded by. You looked at the long scar on his face and frowned. How you wanted to take all the burdens he hides beneath the surface and put them on your shoulders. This male deserved so much better. Even after everything he has been through, he still puts himself last for anyone, especially Elain and Feyre. Hell, he was even here putting you first by offering you a comforting night. You don’t know how you survived without him as a friend the past couple of years. You are not letting him go again.  

You decided to be bold and reach out to cup his face and trace your thumb across his scar. Why couldn’t the mother have blessed you with someone as caring as him? Instead, you got Azriel who doesn't even spare you a glance. How are you supposed to feel comfortable telling him he's your mate if he won't look at you? You sigh and keep tracing Lucien's scar. Your fingers start to travel from his scar, to tracing along his jaw, and through a couple strands of hair. Your eyes follow every move your hand made. Your fingers start to move to his lips before you stop. His lips... you wondered what they would feel like against yours again.  

“Why did you stop?” You practically jump at the words as he looks up at you and smirks. 

“FUCK ME! Lucien, you scared the crap out of me! Don’t do that!” you swat his bare chest playfully, and he chuckles. Oh my god... his morning voice. The deep scratchiness of his chuckle had heat wanting to spread throughout your body. Gods you wanted to hear it again.  

“If the lady wishes, I will gladly fuck her, but how about some breakfast first?” he slowly started to get out of bed.  

Did you just hear that correctly? Was he joking or was he being serious? Before you could finish your questioning thoughts Lucien sensed your concentration on the matter. 

“Y/n I was just teasing you! Not about the breakfast part though, I am starving!”  

“Oh... okay. It just threw me through a loop for a second.” you smile as you wave your hands around.  

“my, my, my y/n... You seem a little disappointed.... OMG YOU WANT ME!” Lucien circled his finger around and booped your nose. 

“Ugh, as if!” as you got out of bed and stood next to him. You reached your arms above your head and stretched out your body from sleeping all night. “Man, that was the best sleep I have gotten in a while.” You looked up and smiled at Lucien, but his eyes were glazed over.  

While you were stretching you didn’t realize your shirt had come up a bit, giving Lucien a little show of your upper thighs. You looked at him again, “what?!” 

He shook his head, “Its nothing, I also slept soundly. Now, how about some breakfast?” and smiled at you.  

You followed Lucien to the kitchen. Eyes scanning over the muscles on his back, and gods, those slutty little gray sweatpants were not helping you stop your oogling.  

You finally reach the kitchen, and he turns around to ask, “So what are we craving this morning?” Your brain went down the gutter when he asked that question and it caused a giggle to escape your mouth. 

“What? What’s so funny about breakfast y/n? This is no joking matter!”  

“Right! Sorry... how about some pancakes and fruit?” 

“Sounds like a plan!” as he starts to grab all the ingredients and utensils you will need to make breakfast. “Would you like to cut the fruit while I start the batter?” 

“Sure!” as you grab the cutting board, knife, and a couple of fruits. You saw Lucien had picked out bananas. You start peeling all the bananas and place them on the cutting board to start cutting. As you cut the bananas you help but to snag a couple of slices. You sneak a couple more in your hand and walk over to Lucien making the batter. “Open!” you demand as you point to his mouth. He looks at you mischievously and does as he's told, never stopping his mixing of the batter. You pop a couple of banana slices in his mouth and smile at him.  

“Thank you,” he says with a mouth full of banana.  

“Chew with your mouth closed Lucien, no one wants to see that.” You laugh. He swallows and dips his finger in the batter and turns towards you. 

“Your turn!” you roll your eyes and open your mouth, only for Lucien to put it on your nose while chuckling. 

“Lucien, are you kidding me right now?!” 

“Sorry, I saw the opportunity and i took it. Here, let me help you.” he swipes the batter off your nose with his finger. You can feel his hot breath on your face, a hint of banana mixed in. “Open, for real this time. I promise.” Your brows furrow at him but you decide to trust him. You opened your mouth, and he placed the tip of his finger in letting you lick the batter off. You decided to get him back for all the teasing he’s done. You closed your eyes and moaned. Lucien’s body tensed at the sound as you sensually licked the rest of the batter off his finger and let it go with a pop.  

“That’s really good Lucien!” You smiled at him, knowing this time you were the one teasing him. You grabbed another dollop on your finger and really played up the innocence roll as you started to lick it off your own finger. Lucien’s eyes follow your every movement.  

“You are positively evil; you know that right?” he huffed and finished stirring the batter. 

“I do not know what you are talking about, I was just trying the batter...” you smirked and walked back over to finish cutting the bananas. Soon the kitchen started to smell like pancakes, and you started to realize how hungry you were. 

“Almost ready over here, did you get all the banana’s done?” Lucien asked as he flipped a pancake in the air.

“Sure did! Do you need me to do anything while you finish up flipping them?” 

“You can set the table and I'll bring everything over.” You nod at his answer and start to set the table with two pairs plates, silverware, napkins, cups, and lastly your freshly cut bananas you put in a bowl. Just as you placed the bananas, Lucien was right behind you with a stack of pancakes.  

“Oh, those look delicious! Do you have any syrup for the pancakes and juice to drink?” 

“Yeah, go look in the fridge! I'll start setting our plates.” You walk over to the fridge and open it to grab the syrup along with a bottle of apple juice. You walk back to the table, place the syrup down, and look to see Lucien had made you and him both plates. You smiled. 

“Thank you," as you decided to somewhat return the favor by filling up his glass with juice. You bend over slightly and pour the juice in his cup. Lucien's cheeks flush at the sight of you bent over, giving him a clear view of your cleavage due to how loose his shirt hung on you. He picks up his glass and takes a sip after you're done serving him.  

He coughs and says, “Thank you.” Trying to hide the ever growing blush on his face.

“You’re welcome.” You walk back to your spot across him, pour you a glass of juice, and start cutting into your food. You both sat there and enjoyed breakfast. Casually giving each other compliments about the food. You swear after this morning you had a new favorite breakfast food, banana pancakes. They will always remind you of this past night and morning with your friend. You smiled at Lucien as you both had finished. “That was lovely!” 

“Yes, it was, we should do this more often. I have missed you.” 

“Awe, ladies and gentlemales, the Lucien Vanserra missed y/n y/l/n!” 

“Way to ruin the moment y/n,” Lucien said with an eyeroll, and you chuckled. 

“You know I miss you too Lu, but I should probably get going. I’m sure mother Rhys is worried sick about me.” You laughed.  

“Most likely, here let me get you a bag for your dress and a pair of pants.” He walks away to get them for you. He comes back not a moment later with a bag and a baggy pair of old pants “Those should fit you! I believe you left them at my place a long time ago!” your cheeks burn at the thought of why you left them. One of your previous little rendezvous nights.

“Oh my god I have been looking for these for so long! Thank you.” you say as you took both items from his hands. You place your dress in the bag and walk to the bathroom to put your old pants on. You can’t believe he has kept them all this time. He could have easily tossed them out but didn't. "That's sweet of him," you thought. You walk back out and grab everything you came with and turn towards Lucien waiting for you by the door.  

“Thank you for everything you have done for me, it means a lot. I will give your shirt back the next time I see you.” You smile at him.  

“Keep it, it looks better on you anyways,” he winks, “I will see you next time then?” 

“Till next time Lu!” You smile as you give him a hug. He wraps his arms around you and places his chin on the top of your head. 

“Till next time doll!” as he places a soft kiss atop your head. You both let go and wave at each other as you make your way back to the Town House knowing an anxiety driven Rhysand and an overly excited Mor await you.

Young man goes on journey of self-discovery and exploration where he is exposed to his own privellege and confronts both the extremism that it can forge but also his own self and views and how he is benefiting from the system and how he can fight it...(from the outside? from within?). Told through his own thoughts, his growing relationships with the "friends" of his twin brother and the contrasting conversations with said friends and his father...

I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH OKAY

AND we have this story explored in a different thread of "rebelling from within" in our newly discovered cop/artist storyline, cannot wait for that to pan out more!!

This ep however I started to feel uneasy about Todd...

(OMG seriously what's with the PRETTY did they put something in everyone's water??)

We got two different convos which seemed a bit more interogatery than I'd like, maybe he just really wants to know who hurt Black, or maybe he's using White to figure out what the friends are up too...

He IS being presented as very rich and privilegedin this show, in ways that the show is making a point of pointing out problems with (mostly in regard to Black/White's privilege but this also applies to our very rich Todd I would think...)

So is Todd being a good friend?

Is he Blacks emergency contact? I mean he must be if the hospital called him? or was he there for the beat down and then took Black to the hospital and that's why he was there?

What about the mum, what happened with her? Does she know Black nearly died? (discussed more in a mo)

Todd was the one the hospital called when Black nearly flatlined...

Also the beat down happening so soon after White arriving from Russia...did Todd know he had returned?

Also the ENTIRE car convo felt weird

W: Have you talked to my mum? She might be able to help

T: I reached out, she said she would leave it to the authorities. She wan't no involvement

(How bad was this falling out? Does she know White's back?...or is Tod lying??)

T: You can but I don't think it'll help. The fight between Black and her was huge. It was so bad they decided to cut each other off. You know that Black got involved in some unlawful business, and your mother is a judge. They're on different sides.

T: When you said you'd quit, what did those guys say?

T: Do they want to keep going?

T: Do you know what they're next move is? Is it about Tawi?

T: If you're to do something you must learn all about their plan, it's too risky otherwise

It...it just feels like a lot, although given the nuance of the show so far I don't necessarily think they'll go with Rich = Bad so maybe I am reading too much into this.

I certainly WANT him to only be motivated by helping Black and White get to the bottom of whatever is going on.

I mean obvious answer is Tawi sent people to beat up Black, but why Black specifically? did they know he was the ring leader? Have our gang damaged Tawi's properties before?

We also have Eugene the girlfriend, who Eugene thought Black had broken up with...

Plus whatever maybe feelings are going on/have been going on here

(So is White's theory that Eugene made that but never gave it right...or did Black actually give it to Eugene??)
