i always forget how bizarre it is to people to hear exes are still friends even after they breakup

like. personally, we were Friends first and foremost. we werent just partners - beneath all of that, we were friends. and some ppl can have clean breakups and never speak to each other again, some ppl can have messy breakups and still rekindle that friendship

for others, yeah it's better and healthier to cut contact completely. for some, friendship is an amazing idea. sometimes you dont wanna lose those people, so yeah, i always get surprised when people are like 🤨😨 when they see exes being friends

I find it so funny, in light of TikTok’s imminent American demise, that even now they aren’t considering moving to tumblr. The last two social media refugee crises (Twitter -> X and whatever happened with Reddit) prompted a wave of wide-eyed new baffled tumblr users to flood this app and yet last I heard all of the tiktokers are flooding en-masse a Chinese social media app. That is entirely in Mandarin. Saw people talking about not liking first person, which is fair, but their reasoning was like "I would not do that" and I don't understand that mindset.

First person stories are still about a character. A character making their own decisions. First person isn't about you???? At least I thought it wasn't. What am I missing? I've always seen first person as just a more in-depth look into a character's mind and stricter POV. Not as a reader stand-in.
