did you see the new pages of mha? touya's canon ending is physically painful, like i knew what was implied originally but it was better to just leave things up to interpretation with him. like in what world does an abuser get a better ending than the abused i hate this i refuse to believe this also the obey me thing makes me even more ill

New pages? Canon ending? Nope, I see NOTHING. I refuse to look. It was added like a half-assed afterthought anyway. I haven’t read it or looked at it myself, but I’ve seen enough on my dash that I don’t really care to.

In all honesty, the entire summary and ending of BNHA is a huge disappointment. I’m not saying there shouldn’t have been consequences for the villains’ actions, they literally killed people. But the fact that they ALL died? That none of them were “redeemable”? And all of the bnha youth having visions and goals of saving their respective villains only to fail in the end?

Like, they’re going for a “well the villains were finally understood and seen in their last moments… so it’s good enough. They still gotta die though.” As if villains aren’t redeemed all the time in fiction. Give me a break.

So I say no. Nope, nope, I’m ignoring whatever bs “canon” they gave us and making up my own ending. Touya lives. He gets fucking therapy because he’s finally in a place where he’s willing to receive help and take responsibility for himself. He’s forced to make amends with the irrevocable harm he’s caused others, and grow beyond his trauma with his family. And he gets to have fucking soba with his brother.

not to be controversial bc I know this is like…not in line with shifting opinions on fanfic comment culture but if there’s a glaring typo in my work I will NOT be offended by pointing it out. if ao3 fucks up the formatting…I will also not be offended by having this pointed out…

‘looking forward to the next update’ and ‘I hope you update soon!’ are different vibes than a demand, and should be read in good faith because a reader is finding their way to tell you how much they love it. I will not be mad at this.

‘I don’t usually like this ship but this fic made me feel something’ is also incredibly high praise. I’m not going to get mad at this.

even ‘I love this fic but I’m curious about why you made [x] choice’ is just another way a reader is engaging in and putting thought into your work.

I just feel like a lot of authors take any comment that’s not perfectly articulated glowing praise in the exact manner they’re hoping to receive it in bad faith.

fic engagement has been dropping across the board over the last several years, and yes it’s frustrating but it isn’t as though I can’t see how it happens. comment anxiety can be a real thing. the last thing anyone wants to do is offend an author they love, and that means sometimes people default to silence.

idk where I’m going with this I guess aside from saying unless a comment is outright attacking me I’m never going to get mad at it, and I think a lot of authors should feel the same way. ESPECIALLY TYPOS PLZ GOD POINT OUT MY TYPOS.

the headcanon of regulus just being able to cry on command is horrifying but also the funniest thing i’ve ever fucking heard. like i imagine regulus is hanging out with the marauders, post black brothers reconciliation, and him and sirius are bickering and sirius JOKINGLY goes “well it’s not MY fault it’s impossible for you to show any emotion” and regulus blinks. and then just fully starts sobbing.

and james and remus and peter are all like ?!?!?! what the FUCK . RIGHTFULLY SO. and james’ heart is hurting so bad because he’s never seen regulus cry before and he’s trying to comfort him and hold him and regulus, (who is gay and a little shit) is just letting himself be hugged and letting james pet his hair or whatever and remus is like. sirius what the fuck apologize to your brother??????? because sirius has been sitting there the entire time unmoving and he just raises his eyebrows, completely unimpressed and deadpan when he goes, “you guys do know he’s faking right”. and then when remus and james both are like HUH??? torn between bewildered and angry with this reaction, regulus just extracts himself from james, face completely neutral but with tears drying on his cheeks, no sign of the heaving, hyperventilating sobs he’d fallen into literally a second ago and says “i win”. it terrifies peter so bad that he can’t look him in the eyes for a week
