video game challenge: [2/5] pairings – Ferdinand von Aegir/Hubert von Vestra (Fire Emblem: Three Houses and Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes)
Hubert and Ferdinand became the left and right hands of Emperor Edelgard, competing constantly with each other to see who could be the more helpful. They were opposites-the Minister of the Imperial Household, melancholy and merciless, and the prime minister, bright and compassionate. Still, they brought out the best in each other. As the Empire became orderly and prosperous, the two came to be known as the nation's "Two Jewels," and were remembered fondly for generations to come. Some say their fame made even Emperor Edelgard jealous.

Bernadetta x Ferdinand?
A truly underrated pair.
Ferdinand didn't look up when he heard a knock at the door. There was too much to do. These reforms needed a delicate touch, and since he knew them so thoroughly, there was no one else fit for the job. Edelgard insisted he take a week off since it was getting close to the summer festivals, but he had already fallen behind so much after remaining home for so long. Rebuilding a Dukedom was not an easy task, after all.
But at least he hadn't done it alone.
After the knocking refused to cease, he sighed and set his quill down for a moment. "Yes?"
"Apologies for the interruption, Prime Minister," called a voice. "You have a visitor."
"I am rather busy at the moment," Ferdinand replied. "Who is it that has some to visit?"
"Um...your wife, sir. Lady Bernadetta."
Ferdinand couldn't stand fast enough. His chair fell over as he stumbled, knocking over stacks of books and nearly tripping on his own two feet as he hurried to the door.
When he threw it open, the aide gave a slight bow and turned to leave, revealing Bernadetta standing there, holding a basket in her arms.
"Um....hey, Ferdinand," she greeted nervously.
"Bernadetta! It is wonderful to see you!" He leaned down and gave her a quick kiss, leaving her red in the face. "What brings you here? I thought you were still back home."
"I was, but...um..." She held up her basket. "Feel like taking a walk? The weather's nice. I packed us something to eat. And...I think this is something to talk about while...outside?"
Fear coiled in his gut. "Is everything alright?"
"Um...depends on your reaction. But I'd say mostly yes."
Edelgard looked over the papers, before giving them her stamp of approval. In the distance, she could hear the laughter of her Prime Minister from the other side of the palace grounds, and the screams of his wife, no doubt being twirled around in her beloved's arms. echoed loudly through the air.
"Hubert?"
"Yes, Lady Edelgard?"
"Be sure to prepare a party for the happy couple before Bernadetta returns to Aegir. I have the feeling Ferdinand will be running through the halls in excitement any minute now with the news. Congratulations are in order."
Hubert chuckled. "As you wish."

On Ferdinand
[This was first posted to reddit about two years ago. I have a tumblr now, so I figured that I might as well cross post it. I haven't really seen anyone discuss this that I am aware of, so perhaps I can add something new to the FE3H discussion even after all these years.]
So, I've had some thoughts percolating for a while on Ferdinand and his most common fandom portrayals. I feel like there are a number of little inconsistencies in how I see him discussed that are worth exploring, and I'd like to to try and get a little deeper into the meat of who Ferdinand is and what his position entails in the world of Fodlan.
Ferdinand's Worldview
One thing that underlies a lot of my understanding of Ferdinand is that he recognizes that he, and the nobility in general, are raised with more power and resources than everyone else. However, rather than realize that this is a problem, as Edelgard does, his initial instinct is to justify it. This is the "just world fallacy" - the nobility must be better off because they are better, because they were raised to be suited for this role. It results in him clinging tightly to the concept of "nobility" as an aspiration. What goes unspoken is that in him mind, they need to behave this way to deserve their positions and privilege. Of course, this is concept demonstrably untrue (with his own father, to boot, as he is well aware), which is why he needs to "No True Scotsman" the nobility, disliking "nobles who are not noble" and attempting to urge the noble heirs around him to live up to the standards he has set for their behavior in his mind. (In his Hopes Leonie support, he "No True Scotsmans" literally every other noble.)
This will be relevant to my next two points.
Ferdinand's "Advice"
First of all, the fandom's standard understanding of the Ferdinand-Hubert C support is that it clarifies Ferdinand's actual ambitions. He may seem like he's trying to upstage Edelgard, but all he really wants to do is prove himself worthy to advise her! However, one piece of evidence sits uneasy with this understanding: Ferdinand's pre-timeskip advice box.
There are many citizens of the Empire who are currently in despair. I think it is time for a change in leadership. Perhaps someone new should ascend the throne? You would do well as a ruler, Ferdinand.
This is not the answer of a man who just wants to support Edelgard. It is, quite frankly, seditious. But I do think it is consistent with both Ferdinand's demeanor pre-timeskip and his Hubert C support. If you take a look at the current Adrestian political situation, after the Insurrection of the Seven Duke Aegir is currently the effective ruler of Adrestia, but he has not seized the throne. He still serves as Prime Minister, and his official job function is to "advise" the Emperor. It's just that Emperor Ionius has no choice in whether to follow this advice or not. There's no way Ferdinand is unaware of the current situation, he's the one to explain the Imperial nobility to Byleth.
Now, this puts Ferdinand's dedication to "advising" Edelgard in a very different light - and also recontexutalizes the Hubert C support. Hubert is a descendant of an Insurrectionist, and Marquis Vestra is currently one of the people pulling Ionius's strings. For Hubert to be following Edelgard subserviently must seem ridiculous to Ferdinand. Hubert's accusation of "sedition" and vicious insults of Ferdinand also make sense - to him, this is the heir of an Insurrectionist glorying in trying to maintain the status quo of the Insurrection. Of course he loathes Ferdinand.
Ferdinand's drive to one-up Edelgard seems a bit silly and anime-rival-like if he merely wishes to support her. However, if "advising" is not support but control, like the situation he would reasonably be expecting to inherit, then proving himself Edelgard's superior is vital to his self conception of the world. Upon graduation, he expects to be handed Edelgard's reigns. To maintain the self conception of nobility that I described above, he needs to prove to himself (and to the world, in his eyes) that he deserves this power over her, that he is worthy of it. He has every reason to expect, as per the advice box question, that he will be the actual de-facto ruler of Adrestia eventually, and I see no evidence that he intends to change this situation before Edelgard changes it for him (per his Goddess tower conversation, he does intend to take down his father, but this does not mean he intends to give up the power his father took - he mentions that he will need to "guide the Empire's subjects" in that selfsame convo).
This means that a SS/VW/AM Ferdinand thematically follow his father. He disagrees with Edelgard's actions, so he kills her, thus finishing the job his father started and completing the Insurrection. He will likely be the most powerful person in the former Adrestian territories for his troubles. Mission accomplished (hollow as he feels about it).
This isn't me attempting to argue that "Ferdinand bad." One of Ferdinand's most consistent character traits is his growth from his C-supports, and in CF he comes to realize that he does best in a supporting role (relevant to this, see his Byleth A support, which is all about him coming to terms with not being the most important/recorded in the history books, but playing a supporting role and improving the world anyway). But I don't think that he's this cinnamon roll golden retriever puppy that we kind of like to talk about him as. His actions pre-timeskip align with a man who is trying to prove to himself and the world that it is his right to usurp Edelgard's power and effectively rule in her stead.
Ferdinand's Ignorance
Now, one thing has consistently bothered me about the Edelgard-Ferdinand A support. Don't get me wrong, a lot of it is great! The suggestion of an education system for the general populace is downright revolutionary. But what bothers me is this line:
Ferdinand: From birth, nobles must excel. If we do not, we will be forced out of our houses. This environment breeds superior individuals, and they, in turn, recreate the rigorous environment for their own children. Without that cycle, there would be no political elite guiding the world towards prosperity.
This is a lie. This is just blatantly false. This does not happen. It is clearly a part of Ferdinand's justification for his own privilege that I discussed above. But he still believes it. Five years into a war against the nobility, five years at Edelgard's side, and he still believes this self-serving falsehood about the nature of the nobility. In CF, it doesn't really matter. The old ways are going down in flames, and in this very support he suggests an excellent step forward into the new world. But this support does have implications for him in the other routes, for his judgement and ability to accurately assess the world in front of him and not his fantasy projections onto it. His Hopes Leonie support reveals a similar complete disconnect on his part from how he views nobility and how literally all other nobles operate.
This theme of Ferdinand's ideas about the nobility not aligning with reality is also reinforced in his B-support with Lorenz, where he flat out admits:
Ferdinand: "[...] we can benefit from crossing the threshold and learning more about regular folk. We scarcely understand the reality of their lives."
But his lack of knowledge does not apply solely to matters of commoners and nobility. In the Ferdinand-Lysithea paralogue in Houses, Lysithea has to explain the political situation of Hrym to Ferdinand. It's his own family's protectorate territory, yet he flat out admits that he knows nothing about it. (Yes, Ferdinand's father may not have talked about Hrym to him, but it's been five years and Ferdinand canonically has been investigating his father's misdeeds, you'd think a non-CF Ferdinand would care to look into it a little.) Lysithea, on the other hand, who would not be expecting to inherit that territory and is in fact from a completely different country altogether, knows about it. It's a bad look for an unrelated Alliance noble to be informing an Imperial noble of what has been happening in territories that his family is (at least nominally) overseeing.
All together, the picture painted is one of a profound ignorance of the world on Ferdinand's part.
This is mirrored by his many, many C-supports where he hurts someone completely unintentionally - out of ignorance. Now, in most of these support chains, Ferdinand is interacting either with social equals or with a songstress made of pure gumption, so they can and do call him on his ignorance and he learns a valuable lesson and grows as a person. Ferdinand is absolutely capable of growth, but mostly when the fault is pointed out to him. But, after the game, who will inform him of his ignorance when it comes to the reality of the world? The people under him? No, there's a power differential there. His peers? No, he's probably one of the most sensible and competent nobles (low bar as that is). Honestly, I don't think anyone will.
Anyway, that's my case for Manuela for Prime Minister.

It’s 11 in the morning, I haven’t slept, and I’m thinking about fe3h fanfic “what if” ideas
Like, Jeralt and Byleth were mercenaries. So naturally, when the Dagda and Brigid War in 1175 broke out, Jeralts mercenaries probably were located within the Adrestian Empire- after all, war is profitable for Mercs.
Sure, the conflict mainly targeted House Nuvelle and Barony Ochs territory. But considering the Adrestian capital of Enbarr is coastal, there would’ve been some level of concern to its safety.
So say that Jeralts Mercenaries are hired to patrol Enbarr- or better yet, the outside perimeter of the Imperial Palace.
What if Byleth, through happenstance, found one of the secret entrances to the Palace that led to the dungeons that Edelgard and her siblings were experimented on? Like one of the entrances the Prime Minister Aegir escapes out of jail from in three hopes.
We know Edelgard got out of her experimentations with the crest of flames somewhere around 1175-1176. So this would be the later end of the experiments- most her siblings would be gone, and those that remain would’ve likely be quite unwell. However, she wouldn’t have the crest of flames, and likely wouldn’t have the white hair either- I’m of the mind that it’s the second crest that turns the hair white, and so if the second crest isn’t there, then.. yeah.
Also, if the focus of experiments went by age, Edelgard and her two younger siblings would be alive. Fucked up, far from unscathed, but alive.
What if, upon finding these captive children, Byleth helps them escape? What if the three Hresvelgs go into hiding, by following Jeralts Mercenaries under different names?
And if events played out about the same past that point, what happens when Byleth and Jeralt gets summoned to Garreg Mach? There’s so many ways things would deviate.
Edelgard, at that point, wouldn’t be the flame emperor. Nor would her siblings. She wouldn’t have as heavy of a distrust in others, if she had family and friends in the form of her siblings and Jeralt/Byleth.
The Black Eagles would likely be led by Ferdinand. I think he’d still be a good person, but different focused as his mind would be to prepare to take over the Empire after graduating from Garreg Mach, rather than being a superior to Edelgard like he’s focused on in three houses.
Edelgard, driven not by a desire to destroy the church but to take back her nation from TSLITD, could possibly confide her identity with and ally with Rhea- considering her fondness for Wilhelm Hresvelg, and the whole ‘blood of my blood’ thing with the crest of Seiros. Though I believe she’d still have her strong anti- crest sentiment, she wouldn’t have the resources, the strength, or as much desperation to war with Rhea, and would as such have to find friendlier ways to find change on that front.
Monica wouldn’t have gotten kidnapped and killed- the only reason for that was to pave the way for Edelgard as the flame emperor. Without Edelgard, there would be no Kronya, at least no Kronya as Monica. Perhaps she’d be a library assistant to work under Solon.
There’s a possibility that the death knight, Jeritza, wouldn’t even be a factor. After all, it’s Edelgard that saved Jeritza and took him in.
Especially with the lack of hair change, there’s a good chance Dimitri would immediately recognize Edelgard- which he would’ve thought was a long dead step sister. Perhaps him refinding family could help the poor lad be a bit less traumatized. Dimitri would probably support Edelgards attempt at retaking the imperial throne, as well.
As for Byleth, she gets more emotional as the game goes forward- likely because she’s surrounded by people she deems family or friends. Having the three Hresvelgs in her Mercenary group could mean she finds her emotions sooner.
All that to say I’m *very* unwell, and will not be well until i get this out of my brain and into writing.

“Do you think there is any merit to his incessant exclamations?”
The question posed to Hubert was one he should have answered quickly as assuredly, as he did with most everything else. This time, however, it had been a query that did not, in fact, register to him as anything more than white noise. Hands behind his back, stood in the shadows of the training grounds as if the sun would burn the flesh from his bones, the mage was enraptured by the scene before him. It was like some wanton war dance, watching two bodies go back and forth in training, at something of a constant near stalemate, though it was clear to most anyone who was winning. The two artists in question were as different from each other as one could conjure; the first was Ferdinand von Aegir, the irritating, annoying pest that he was, hair sticking to his forehead as he grinned through exhaustive breaths. The second, and clearly not struggling as much to keep up with a constant barrage of strength and speed, was Felix Hugo Fraldarius, a future duke from the Kingdom, armed with his sword and a stern expression. For every time Ferdinand launched an attack toward the boy, Felix parried with ease; and every time Felix took advantage of Ferdinand’s momentary weakness, it was a wonder he wasn’t knocked over onto his behind. His eyes narrowed, watching Ferdinand swing to the side at a rather wide angle in some grandiose, but predictable, sweeping motion, giving Felix enough time to jump back before striking just at the base of his opponent’s ribs in a fierce jab, the blow finally strong enough to knock the wind out of Ferdinand’s metaphorical sails, and more literally to the floor, with a loud and rather surprised cry.
The win of their little duel had been decided the moment it had been proposed. While a talented lance man- a compliment Hubert would take to his grave, for he suspected if Ferdinand knew his training was being both observed and praised, no one would hear the end of it- he was simply too far outmatched in this particular duel. Though lithe and of shorter stature, Felix carried strength in all the correct places, his sword an extension of himself and that power rather than some glorified flagpole to wave around. His weapon struck true at every opportunity it could, and remained reigned and close enough to defend himself when there was none. He was a burning flame, patient, powerful and well-trained for now, but he had the capacity to burn brighter, and faster, and wilder still- perhaps, if he were not from Faerghus, he could make a fine addition to the Imperial army-
“Hubert? Are you listening to me?”
Hubert blinked himself out of his trance, watching as Ferdinand pushed himself to his feet with a gleeful, too-loud laugh, looking to Edelgard stood at his side. The two of them had taken refuge in the shade, together, at the insistence of the future prime minister (“I want the both of you to witness my might and resolve!” he had said, stupidly, with that stupid smile on his face). That was the only reason he had ventured out here at all.
He gripped onto his wrist behind his back tighter, silently admonishing himself for such a childish display of distraction. “I… apologise, Lady Edelgard.”
The young woman raised an eyebrow up at him, apparently disregarding his shame and simply repeating herself instead. “I was asking about Ferdinand.”
“And what of him?”
“Do you think his claims hold any merit- about his ability to surpass me?”
Hubert ran his tongue alongside the back of his teeth in minor vexation. He knew of what she spoke- after all, it was harder to not hear of such assertions, spoken so assuredly as if they were already true, despite how inexcusable, childish, and overall- incredibly, undeniably wrong they were. But more importantly, he understood her true meaning. They were, after all, so close to seeing their plan to fruition. She wanted to know if this was going to be a threat- if someone such as Ferdinand could undo most everything they had worked hard to achieve. Such a thought could have made him laugh out loud, but Hubert kept himself measured and schooled with ease. “Absolutely not.”
Edelgard hummed, as if this was the answer she expected, looking back out to the training grounds again. “And has anyone else caught your attention?”
The mage paused, glancing down at the floor to consider for a moment. He knew exactly what she meant by such a statement, and had no interest in sabotaging their plans for the future by asking for clarification. Through his bangs, he was slow to meet the slender form of the swordsman he was just observing, cleaning his training blade and trying to pretend his opponent was not there, begging for a rematch. “...Perhaps so.”
The day continued on quickly, soon turning to night. And, just like most other nights, Hubert did not find sleep easy. Years spent watching over his charge, in case the night decided to be cruel to her, in combination with his own afflictions of paranoia, meant that the night was not for rest. It was instead meant for keeping busy, be it in his own experiments or other various machinations not known to his classmates or even his lady whom he served so loyally- dealing with problematic elements that may get in the way of their plans for the future, such as enemies within the school and faculty, or those who simply knew too much, as well as seeking out any possible sympathetic individuals. Edelgard doubted their professor’s loyalty- Hubert needed to make sure to pad out their armies for the oncoming war as much as possible. That was the excuse he used to return to the training grounds, lamenting where his feet had taken him as the moon hung over him like an ever present watcher, full of ire as he stared at the door. Just what was he hoping to find there? A glimpse of that same fire he had seen in the afternoon, flickering and burning just as it was then, now all for himself? Hubert growled to himself as he pushed through the door with both hands-
-And the fire still flickered, just as he had dared to hoped it would.
Felix did not turn to face him as he entered the training grounds, despite the loud groaning of the old doors, continuing with the repetitive swing of the sword he once again held, or perhaps never put down again. He was still in the training grounds by the time Hubert had left with Edelgard and Ferdinand for lunch, already taking a new challenger after all attempts his last one made to gain a rematch had failed (as they had been thoroughly ignored, with admirable decorum), so he did not doubt the boy had remained throughout the afternoon late into the evening, that had swiftly become night.
The mage kept his arms behind his back, watching with mild interest at the strength Felix carried in his movements, how his shoulders moved and strained beneath his uniform with the swiftness of the weapon cutting through the cool midnight air, almost as efficiently as any well trained soldier. He really would make a fine general. If only he was to fight on the right side of history, then such skill would not be put to waste.
There was a moment or two more, where the wind was cut in two, before the movements stopped and Felix straightened his posture. A sigh left him, annoyed and heavy, before he lowered his sword to turn with a glower, just enough to shoot it in the other man’s direction. “You. What do you want?”
Hubert did not know. He lied anyway. “I came to watch you train. Is that an issue?”
“You watched me enough this afternoon. What more could there possibly be to see?”
Behind his back, he flexed a hand, with a gentle hum of acknowledgement as Felix fully turned to face him, stance defensive (though not fearful, or even apprehensive, as many other students would be, if they were to face the mage this late into the night) and sword still in hand. “There’s no gauge for ‘enough’, with things of this nature.”
“Fighting is not a spectator sport.” He had little patience for most people, and Hubert was not exempt from such a rule. “Either you pick up a weapon and duel me, or you leave.”
There was something of a subtle grimace that passed over the mage’s features, there and gone just as quickly, at such behaviour- though, such inhospitality could hardly be criticised, especially by him, a man whose few conversations began and ended with his devotion and his purpose, but never himself. It wasn't as if he considered Felix’s sentiments to be wrong, either- time was a precious and finite commodity, and needed to be used wisely, whether it be for training for an unspecified purpose or following the whims of a woman meant for greater things.
Hubert’s eyes moved over to the rack of weapons towards the back, to the sword and axes and lances maintained to perfection. He has not picked up such a martial thing in many years, not since he was a small, stupid and weak boy of barely seven, attempting to try and wield a lance far too big for his tiny, frail form, in some futile attempt to follow a nonsensical pipe dream of becoming a pegasus knight. This, of course, had been before he'd had the sense knocked into him, metaphorically and literally, and the idea that he was anything more than an extension of his lady’s will of change was snuffed out soon after. His attention had been turned to magic after that, and it had served his purposes far better than a weapon of traditional means ever would. Still… even despite himself, he found himself considering it once more, a feeling stirring in him that hadn't been there since he could remember.
Hubert looked back to Felix, still staring at him expectantly, standing entirely still. “...I am hardly the strong opponent you seek.”
There was a hum of consideration, as the mage was observed again, eyes sweeping up and down, as if evaluating the worth of facing an adversary that wouldn't advance his battle prowess. It was odd to watch, the sweeping of feelings in subtle changes in features, from disinterest to curiosity to want- want, Hubert thought with some bitter amusement- before Felix spoke again. “...I don't care. Now arm yourself, or leave me be.”
He considered the swordsman for a moment, as he turned away once more, assuming the same position as before, as if expecting the door to the training grounds to open and close again. Hubert ground his teeth for a moment, biting down to stop an unnecessary errant comment, still holding onto the feeling that recalling a time before his vassalage, and the feeling of being wanted, if only for a moment, and only for a purpose. He swallowed, pausing for a moment more, before striding past Felix towards the weapon rack, and unsheathing a wooden lance, the weight unfamiliar in his hands.
And for a moment, he swore he saw the beginnings of a smile on Felix’s face.
Such joy, however, did not last long. Like Hubert had said, he was not strong with a lance, not experienced in such a field. Though he held the advantage of height over his opponent, it was a factor that hardly mattered at all- Felix just had too much strength and ferocity for Hubert to block and, much like the bout he’d witnessed earlier in the afternoon, his own swings with the lance were too wide and too sloppy, easily being dodged out of the way like passing wind His anger at his own inadequacy only made this problem worse, too, especially with the off-handed comments about his technique that we're spoken so assuredly, as if they were wanted or asked for. If this had been a match between the sword and his magic, perhaps it could have been more evenly matched- a manipulation of Mire, maybe, to make the terrain temporarily difficult, or make movements more sluggish. But even then, the assault was relentless, and the margin for victory was only slightly more open, if the mage was able to use the tools he was more comfortable with.
Even in the cold air of the evening, he could feel his shirt sticking to the back of his neck from the sweat of exertion. His lungs felt like they were on fire, though not more ablaze than the man in front of him, caught in the rush of the fight as he went for another swing to the side. Hubert barely had time to block with the length of his lance, but by then, it was already too late- the end of the sword jabbed into his ribs, sucking the air out of his lungs as he stumbled backwards, the world around him going white for a moment as he fell backwards.
The lance clattered to the floor, unceremoniously landing a foot or so in front of him as he joined it with a sharp intake of breath, fire shooting up his spine at the pain of his tailbone hitting the dirt. Hubert gritted his teeth into a grimace, before he growled, hair hiding his face in his embarrassment, "This is useless, and a waste of my time.”
“You’re not taking this seriously.”
The mage gave a huff of indignation, as his eyes shot up again in a glare. “Now why, pray tell, would I not be taking this seriously? You were the one who insisted I stayed, and I obliged, in a way I now see was a regrettable decision, so I ask that you don’t speak of this to anyone and-”
His ramblings were cut short by the feeling of the training lance hitting his foot. Hubert glanced up, assuming from posture that Felix had kicked the weapon over to him again.
“…What are you doing?”
“Pick it up.”
“What? No, this is absurd, and pointless. Now if you don’t mind-”
The end of the blade (not sharp, but the formation of the weapon tricked his brain into thinking as much for a second or two) pressed against his throat, just under his chin, bringing the mage to disconcerting silence and stillness. Hubert looked up again at the future duke, amber eyes narrowed in a mix of discontent and curiosity, but most importantly a hunger- to fight or to teach, he could not surmise.
“You aren’t a lost cause, mage. Your lancework needs improvement, but it isn't hopeless. Now pick up your weapon and fight me.”
His throat bobbed in a swallow against the dull point of the training sword, unable to take his eyes off Felix standing over him, barely breaking a sweat from their fight, and a star as cool as steel. If this were a battlefield, if that had been a real sword, Hubert may have delighted in the thrill of having the weapon pressed further into his skin, where blood more than likely would have begun to trickle from a superficial wound, dripping down the lines of his throat and into his shirt. He may even dare to delight in it now, staring up at a face of power and irritation.
Lady Edelgard needed strong soldiers- powerful soldiers, willing to fight until their dying breath. Felix’s loyalty could not be spoken for, but he was certainly discontented with his position within the Kingdom. If that discontent could be twisted, moulded into something new if the fire could be tamed, it could burn even brighter on new coals. And, perhaps, this was something selfish as well, if Hubert could allow himself that. If he could allow himself a want, to see this wild thing grow into himself and his craft, with the right force at his back to guide his sword. If he could allow himself to want to be that guide, if only to keep the man close to him. If he could allow himself to simply want a man, one as strong and as stubborn and as worthy as the one in front of him, goading him on with naught but a narrowing of his eyes.
Never tearing his gaze away, Hubert reached by his foot, and once more grabbed the lance in a grip tight enough for it to show. If only to watch Felix huff a laugh and pull his sword away to prepare for another round, stoking a fire within himself.

Excerpt from: The Wolf Lord
“Now that we have an army, we should head down to Enbarr,” Dimitri said.
“But even with House Fraldarius backing us up, we don’t have the manpower to besiege Enbarr,” Ingrid pointed out. “Will we truly prevail if we attempt to take on the Imperial Capital right now?”
“They will probably expect us to attempt to recapture Fhirdiad,”said Dimitri. “But in the end, the only one that matters is Edelgard. Without her, the rest of the Empire will fall.”
“What about the Six Great noble families? Or the imperial cadet lines?“ asked Byleth.
“It’s… not as simple as that,” Ferdinand said. “The Six don’t hold as much power in Emperor Edelgard’s reign as they did during her father’s reign. In fact, the position of Prime Minister has remained vacant since my father…” his voice faltered, but he blinked the tears back and continued his assessment. “While it’s true that the last emperor had many concubines and children, nobody has heard from them since the Insurrection.”
“What?!” Byleth gaped. “How is that possible?!”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Dimitri growled. “She had them all killed. All to have her ascension to the throne remain uncontested!”
“Don’t be ridiculous! Assuming she even did such a thing —which is unlikely, but still— why haven’t any of the families of the concubines retaliated in any shape or form?!”

@nobilismare said: “You couldn’t leave me. You wouldn’t.” - from Hubie
crimson peak / accepting
“Oh yes I would !” He lashes his arm out in a dramatic fashion that flutters his half-cape behind it. He dares not even look at Hubert, instead snubbing his nose to the ceiling. “I will call for my carriage right this moment and allow you to deal with Count Bergliez and Count Hevring all on your own if you do not apologize.”
Prime Minister though he may be, Ferdinand still permits Hubert crawl under his skin on occasion. At least now he possesses some measure of leverage, given his title and duties. His arms fold one atop the other, and he fixes Hubert with a stern, stubborn glare. How much it feels like their youth in this moment !
“Nay—you must not only apologize, but take back that statement as well !”

Over a period through Rough Affairs, I believe the United States Government can evolve and spread throughout the Globe as the following are ready to be processed into the Judicial Branch...in which using these now captives to excellerate the Court Systems from Local Town or City ,to County, to State, to Federal then Continental, as well as, Global...
Put the Following Characters on Trial for their misgivings of the past Decades and Centuries of Crime...Lock up all their ways through the Court Systems would unlock the Court Systems up and down in their entireties to dispense of the wrong doing criminals throughout all levels of Society...
In no chronology:
Frans Ferdinand
Guandi
Former President Woodrow Wilson
Former Rhode Island Governor John Pastori
Former President JFK jr.
Former First Lady Jackie Onasis
The remaining Adolph Hitler
Any and all Benito Mussalini's
Jon Jon Kennedy
Lenny Crevits
Henry Winkler
Jon Travolta
Theodore Kennedy
Former Speaker of the House Nute Gingrich's
There may be a few more in the Affair, but those are the most Aggreegus Offenders. With FDRs as the witness and interpritator to Affairs, as one may have died of Polio and others Brothers or Animitrons or body doubles. Albert Eintian, also be thy Witness...
These Affairs shall link back to the Thomas Crown Affair, as well as, Frans Fedinand, whose Father may have been Theodore Roosevelt and JFK jr the Son of Frans Ferdinand...?
All these players or performers are still around, through Heart Pumps, Resporaters and Oxygen Tanks, as well as occasional Steroid Pills or regiments...
Guondi and Former Governor of Rhode Island Postori would be a area of not so guilty as the rest, but still part of the Affairs, possibly turned to key witnesses, with FDRs and Einstien...
Remember, the Judicial Branch in its Entirety, Up and Down through all crimes and Affairs of Legal or Illegal throughout the Local Town/City, County, State, Federal, Continental and Global. With some area of Galaxy and Universe do to Affairs with Syble...
The Commonwealth System of Government can then unlock around the Affairs of the Judicial Branch to open and shut doors on Prime Ministers, Governors, Presidents, Senators, Representatives and other Political Titles...
I believe all the captives will be agreeable to the terms and conditions going forward, as they will be in their last performance on the 'Good TV'...for the Globe to Unify with, all Bounded Lands, be they Large or Small, have been afflicted by these criminals...
Lock up their Affairs, Up and Down and things go away nice and eazy like...
They all have been captured by their own stupidity by the Wako in the Community, well rooted in the Justice Department in the Department of Insanitation, which deals with all the Peripheral Trash and Garbage...no matter what size...
David Michael,
Wako in the Community...signing off to all Affairs...on this Eve of Christopher Columbus Weekend...

9775Khz 0259 19 MAR 2024 - VOICE OF AMERICA (UNITED STATES OF AMERICA) in ENGLISH from MOPENG HILL. SINPO = 55344. English, @0259z Yankee Doodle int fb news anchored by Tommy McNeil @0300z. U.S. President Joe Biden spoke Monday with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for the first time in more than a month, voicing new concerns about Israel’s conduct of its war in Gaza against Hamas militants and its plan for a ground attack on the southern city of Rafah near the Egyptian border. White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said Biden told the Israeli leader in a phone call, “We share the goal of defeating Hamas. We just believe you need a coherent and sustainable strategy to make that happen." Sullivan called Netanyahu’s plan for a ground offensive “smashing into” Rafah a “mistake.” More than a million Palestinians are sheltering in makeshift tents and structures there to try to protect themselves from the ravages of the war, many on orders from the Israeli military to abandon their homes in the northern reaches of Gaza as Israel continues to attack that region. Famine is imminent in the northern Gaza Strip between now and May, and the rest of Gaza’s population is facing crisis levels of hunger and worse, a United Nations-backed food security report concluded Monday. Former President Donald Trump accused Jews who vote for Democrats of hating their religion and Israel, reviving and escalating a claim he made as president that Jewish Democrats were disloyal. Western governments lined up on Monday to condemn Russian President Vladimir Putin's landslide reelection as unfair and undemocratic, but China, India and North Korea congratulated the veteran leader on extending his rule by a further six years. The contrasting reactions underscored the geopolitical fault lines that have gaped wider since Russia launched a full-scale invasion of Ukraine two years ago, triggering the deepest crisis in relations with the West since the end of the Cold War. Gangs attacked affluent neighborhoods in Haiti early Monday, killing at least a dozen people, according to witnesses. The attacks also targeted Haiti's power company, which said Monday that four substations "were destroyed and rendered completely dysfunctional." The attacks have left much of the capital without power. President Joe Biden will host Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Philippines President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for a White House summit next month amid growing concerns about North Korea's nuclear program, provocative Chinese action in the South China Sea and differences over a Japanese company's plan to buy an iconic American steel company. Across the United States, many people are eagerly anticipating the Federal Reserve’s first cut to its benchmark interest rate this year: Prospective home buyers hope for lower mortgage rates. Wall Street traders envision higher stock prices. Consumers are looking for a break on credit card debt at record-high interest rates. Yet Chair Jerome Powell and his fellow Fed officials are expected to play it safe when they meet his week, keeping their rate unchanged for a fifth straight time and signaling that they still need further evidence that inflation is returning sustainably to their 2% target. @0305z “Daybreak Africa” anchored by male announcer (w/African accent). @guksugeulsi ; continued from here
They all say that. Anyone that wasn't trained under House Vestra's regime could claim all they want that they could stay awake until the sun's rays cracked the horizon. It was a declaration Hubert was all too familiar with, a scenario he could almost recite on his own within his head.
And it seemed like Ferdinand was the next fool to attempt such. The emperor's retainer had to give the prime minister some credit, however. Compared to every other dimwit that naively offered their help, Ferdinand seemed to truly believe he was able to from the bottom of his heart. With how much Hubert would silently scrutinize everyone he interacts with, he was able to tell whether his potential helper was merely giving him lip service in hopes of wanting to appear useful to him. Despite this particular comrade's eyes giving away the fact that he was somewhat exhausted from the late hours, Hubert had to admit that Ferdinand could probably live up to his word just out of mere stubbornness.
But that was something he wouldn't allow. Even if he and Edelgard would withhold some information from him, he was still a valuable asset to the emperor's goals. The only person Hubert wouldn't allow to get the proper amount of rest would be himself.
"Don't be daft, Ferdinand." The marquis scoffed, not even gracing him a look away from the documents laid out before him. "Your eye is twitching. That alone is enough to convince me to not change my answer. You will retire, and your assistance is unnecessary."
The marquis was always working tirelessly by himself without ever asking anyone for help. There was a lack of trust, no doubt. Which did sting a little, given how much time they spend together these days but there certainly was progress since Ferdinand was entrusted with more work. Of course, he still wished to help the man out because those dark eye circles didn't show up from getting proper sleep! How he was still able to function like a human being was a miracle.
"I will have you know that my eye is not twitching from fatigue." Count on Hubert to notice tiny details like that. He tried to ignore it all this time, hoping it would stop soon enough. It was mildly distracting from his work but not more than his stubborness getting in the way of listening to his body's needs. His mind was already made up. There would be no sleep tonight and this paperwork would be finished before the sun rises.
"It is from the two cups of coffee I consumed before meeting you in this office." He stated as a matter of fact but his voice was a little quieter than usual. "Even if I did retire now, it would be impossible to rest."
Not everyone was accustomed to drinking the caffeinated beverage - especially not Ferdinand. While he did join Hubert once in a while for a cup, he was still sensitive to its side effects. A fact he knew all to well just like he was aware that staying up all night would be a great challenge. It was once thing to keep his body moving for so long but to look at papers was mentally tiring. He had hoped the caffeine would help him keep his focus for much longer.

Ferdinand and Rosamund B+ Support
Summary: In an attempt to make her feel better, Ferdinand brings Rosamund a gift. This gift turns out to be something precious to her.
Warnings: Discussions of shitty parents
Written in script format under the cut.
Ferdinand: Easy, boy. Easy.
Hound: [GROWLING, HAUNCHES RAISED]
Ferdinand: Shhhh. It is alright. You are a good dog, aren't you? Good boy. Would you like some meat? I have some tasty treats here. Look. [HOLDS OUT SOME DRIED MEATS] See? Yummy, yummy for your tummy, tummy? Tasty meats is tasty treats?
Hound: [SLOWLY RELAXES, HESITANTLY APPROACHES UNTIL HE GETS THE MEAT, FULLY CALM]
Ferdinand: [PETS THE DOG] Good boy. Goooooood boy.
Hound: [SNIFFS HIM, GENTLY NUDGES HIM IN ACCEPTANCE]
Ferdinand: Very good puppy dog. Let's go back to the monastery.
Hound: [BARKS, FOLLOWS HIM]
[BACK AT THE MONASTERY]
Rosamund: [WALKING UP TO HIM WHEN FERDINAND RETURNS] Ferdinand? Where have you been? The Professor has been- [GASPS] No way...It can't be... Ram? Is that you, Ram?
Hound: [LOOKS UP HEARING THE NAME, BARKS HAPPILY AND RUNS TO HER]
Rigel: Bark! Bark! [JUMPING FOR JOY]
Rosamund: Ram! [HUGS HIM, LAUGHING FROM THE KISSES] Thank Cichol. I thought you'd…. I thought father got rid of you. My good boy. [TRYING NOT TO CRY] My little Ram.
Ferdinand: Goodness. Is this one of your hounds, Rosamund?
Rosamund: He is. I had to leave him behind when I fled the Vestra house. I thought father had him….I just….How? Where did you find him?
Ferdinand: A merchant in town had been trying to sell him. But no one would take him. Or could take him. He wouldn't even let the merchant touch him.
Rosamund: He's one of the few dogs I couldn't fully train. He hated everyone. Even Hubert.
Ferdinand: I find that easy to believe.
Rosamund: [SNORTS] No, really. I couldn't even let Tancred near him because he had such a temper. I was too scared to risk it. [GIVING RAM SCRITCHES] Still, I never thought I'd see him again.
Ferdinand: I am glad you two are reunited. In truth, I had purchased him in hopes to help you feel better. You have not been yourself lately, so I was worried. I thought a new companion might help. And after our last interaction….
Rosamund: ….let's go feed the hounds. We have quite a lot to talk about.
[LATER]
Ferdinand: Wait…no magic? At all?
Rosamund: Yep. Adrestia is known for its mages, and the Vestras are the top of that pecking order. Between my lack of ability and my personality, you can understand why I wasn't father's favorite.
Ferdinand: I….well…Perhaps a little?
Rosamund: [LAUGHS] You need to grow more of a spine around me, Aegir.
Ferdinand: Maybe. But, still, I have never heard of anyone not being able to form even a small bit of Heal.
Rosamund: Congrats on finally hearing about me, then. [WATCHING RAM AND RIGEL EATING] ….sorry for snapping at you. I know you were just trying to be nice.
Ferdinand: You have no reason to apologize. I have been too brazen, and have not been truly hearing what it is you are trying to say. As this war goes on, I believe I am starting to understand a little bit more.
Rosamund: Is that right? What do you think you understand about me, then?
Ferdinand: Your father was part of the insurrection, betraying the previous Emperor of Adrestia. And he was not a kind father towards you. Made you feel lesser. And yet, you did not let that deter you from trying to do right by those around you. Admittedly, you put what I continually preach into practice far more often than I do.
Rosamund: From the way you say it, sounds a lot like a certain noble I know. Coming from experience?
Ferdinand: Perhaps just a little. Being the son of the former Prime Minister, I have a lot I need to live up to as the next heir. And I know my own father has his…failings, as a man and parent. To put it lightly.
Rosamund: Very lightly. [LOOKS AT HER FEET] You know….before I ran away from home, father had brought a young lad from a minor noble house to our home in hopes of him becoming my husband. But I overheard him threatening my little brother. I knew father wouldn't do anything about it, so….I challenged him to a hunting match. Catch a rare creature, or catch more than I can, and I'd agree to the marriage. Admittedly, before his mask fell, he was rather charming. If he hadn't turned out to be a turncoat, I'd have thought we could have been happy together.
Ferdinand: I had no idea. What…happened to the lord's son?
Rosamund: ….he died on the hunt. He got cocky and tried to take out a wolf. The wolf fought back. It was in self-defense. He was on the wolf's homelands after all.
Ferdinand: I see. That poor wolf….
Rosamund: Mh. [HUGS HER KNEES] Since then, I just…couldn't bring myself to have faith in anyone. Only my brothers and mother. I don't have any faith even in the Goddess, who never answered my prayers and allowed so much suffering. Faith in others….it just doesn't come naturally to me like it does you.
Ferdinand: I….I'm so sorry, Rosamund. You did not deserve to have that happen to you. And I deeply apologize for any pain my actions caused you.
Rosamund: You don't need to apologize, Ferdinand. If anything, I should apologize. I know you don't mean any harm.
Ferdinand: I might not have meant any, but harm I still caused. And I want to make it up to you.
Rosamund: Ferdinand, you brought one of my most precious hounds back to me. You've more than made up for it. Honestly, I…think I could start considering you as a friend. If you'll have me.
Ferdinand: Truly? Thank you, Rosamund. And yes, I'd gladly have you as my friend. Now, let us see this war to the end!
Rosamund: Yes, let's.

Hubert x Edelgard FanFiction
“Hubert, why don’t you put the hierarchy issue aside for you and Edelgard to be happy?” Ferdinand asks and he holds his head and adds, “What our plans were was to rid the world of hierarchy and we’re now doing so, so what’s keeping you and Edelgard from confessing?”
“It might be easier and make more sense for you because you’ve married a commoner who dug herself from low to high with hard and agonizing work. But with her majesty and I, it is a possible cause for unrest, I am too low to wed her. It would not look good for her nor will it for me.”
“Hubert, there was unrest when I chose to marry Shezette, but it didn’t matter, I loved her and I myself knew that she wasn’t using me. That’s all that mattered to me.”
“Well Ferdinand, you are in a better position than I am, you are Duke von Aegir and prime minister of the Empire whereas I’m merely just a marquis, it would be ridiculous if I were to marry our emperor.” Hubert shook his head, “Not good for her in history, especially for the simple fact with how sullied my hands are, that mark I put on history will never go away.” Hubert stated and Ferdinand responded with the obvious, “But you sullied your hands for Edelgard.”
“Ferdinand, that part in history will ne’er be spoken of, that part would end up being erased.” Hubert said and Ferdinand asked, “Because of you?” Hubert nodded, “Because of me.”
“Hubert, please allow yourself to be happy for once, you’d make Edelgard ecstatic.” Ferdinand moves on back to the topic at hand and Hubert’s face shows slight sadness, “I hate to see her majesty as sad as this makes her, but in the long run this is for the best for her.”
“Glad you know she loves you back at least…” Ferdinand said and he sighed, “Look Hubert, you may think this is better in the long run, but if you actually think about it with a clear mind, she’s going to have to make an heir one day, I don’t think she’d put it on my family and my heirs shoulders. There are still nobles out there that don’t agree with this world we’re making, they’ll send their sons as suitors and for her to make an heir, she’s going to choose one of them someday, what if they aren’t good for her, we’ll never be sure if she’ll be in danger. At least with you, Hubert, you and I both know the entirety of Fódlan knows that you'd treat her like the emperor she is, with respect and love… and you adore her and she adores you just the same… so please ignore the fact that you’re a marquis, she doesn’t care about that, she wants you and only you… and you want her and only her.”
“…Ferdinand, why do you suddenly care about me of all people? I’m feeling slightly suspicious.” Hubert asked with a tilt of his head as he held his chin. “Preposterous! I’ve always cared about you, we just argue a lot and never really get along, but you and I share the same friend ever since childhood so I’ve grown to like you quite a lot. I also trust you with Edelgard who’s like a little sister to me, because your interactions with her never steered me to think wrong of you. You give yourself no positive credit when there’s so much to give of it. Hubert, your loyalty to Edelgard and your love for her are exceedingly pure, you’d do anything to help her, you’d die if you have to and Hubert, that’s the type of man that I want my adoptive little sister to have and I’m sure her step brother agrees with me.”
“…I’m… my words are lost.” Hubert spoke what he could muster to even say with his speechlessness.
“If history tries to spit on the love between you and Edelgard, then may they damn my marriage with Shezette. I’ve accepted it long ago that history may. Hubert, it’s your turn, you love her and she loves you, that’s all that matters. But I guess I’ll leave that decision up to you.” Ferdinand said and before Hubert could even respond the two heard a little girl call, “PAPA!” Ferdinand smiled, laughed a bit and said, “I gotta go, my oldest wants me to have a tea party with her.” He then turned around and left.
Hubert began to think to himself, holding his chin. He sighed. “Must I be cut so far down the middle?” He shook his head and left. Right by Edelgard’s side again, he stood. After some time passed, Edelgard spoke up as she looked away from a letter she was reading, “Hubert, you’re rather quiet… is everything alright?”
Hubert snapped himself out of his thoughts, “Sorry Lady Edelgard, please forgive my silence, I have quite a lot on my mind.”
Edelgard looked at Hubert and said, “Quite a lot on your mind? Would you like to talk about it?”
Hubert sighed and said, “If I may Lady Edelgard, Ferdinand was talking to me earlier about some things… based on our conversation a while ago about what we’d do after the war.”
“Oh… I see, so that conversation got to him.” Edelgard sighed. “What would Ferdinand like to add?” She asked.
“Not necessarily add, he hasn’t really heard that conversation, he just knows how we feel for each other…” Hubert said and he sighed, “…He’s told me to allow my emotions to take course because then the both of us will be the mysterious thing called happy.”
Edelgard blushed and said, “Oh, well we already decided that you’ll be by my side for life but not in any other way—”
Hubert took Edelgard’s hand delicately on his own and he kissed the top of it lightly as he kneeled at her feet, Edelgard blushed a bit and let him kiss her hand, “Your Majesty, please forgive my decision… I am infatuated by you, I hate to see that my words and actions have harmed your heart…”
“I understand you’re worried about my reputation, but Hubert… those things never truly mattered to me.”
“Lady Edelgard!” Hubert said with slight shock to his voice as he looked up at her with a concerned look on his face.
Edelgard blushed a bit more, “I wish to tell you something I tried to do before, but I know you’ll only reject me for you’re worried about what would come afterward.”
“I’m all ears, your majesty.” Hubert said, looking up at Edelgard, still holding her hand.
“Please just call me Edelgard, Hubert… we are not around anyone but each other.” Edelgard pleaded slightly and sighed with a look of sadness on her face, Hubert nodded, “Yes of course, Lady Edelgard…” Edelgard sighed and said, “Hubert… that’s at least better than ‘you’re majesty’.”
“What would you like to tell me?” Hubert asked with intrigue in his eye as he looked up at Edelgard. Edelgard began to tear up a bit, “Hubert, please… I want you as my lover… no one else will be allowed that vulnerability from me, please follow the world we’re creating of no hierarchy, you are not lower than me, you are my good friend from childhood and I’ve fallen for you… and you’ve spoken of infatuation with me, please allow yourself to show me your infatuation…” she pleads.
Hubert’s eyes went soft and he looked up at Edelgard with sadness, and Edelgard said, “Please don’t reject me, Hubert… please… allow yourself to be happy…”
“I’m happy to serve by your side, but Lady Edelgard… your majesty, I cannot-” Hubert said and Edelgard looked away and tears fell down her face a bit, she tried to keep her tears back and failed. Hubert stood immediately and hugged Edelgard close to himself, “I wish I could, Lady Edelgard, I really do…”
“Hubert, we’re removing the hierarchy, no one is more important than anyone, and if history disagrees then so be it, I love you…” Edelgard said and Hubert looked down at Edelgard, holding her face with his hand and saying, “Lady Edelgard, I adore you… I’ve already told you how much I do, but we mustn’t…” he stared at her face and his voice trailed off. So soft and helpless, innocent, his love for her only grows when he sees her being this adorable, “Forgive me Lady Edelgard,” Hubert started and Edelgard blinked in confusion with her tear stained face and Hubert’s words trail off once again. He leaned down and said, “Your beauty is mesmerizing, my words have been lost to the point that I’m speechless.” he lays his head against hers and he sighed. “I’m sorry that I’ve harmed your heart.” Edelgard leans up and kisses Hubert’s lips, surprising him but he held her face lovingly in his hands and kissed back. Edelgard pulled Hubert down more and he kissed her deeper because of that. He was shocked but he wasn’t complaining. They released the kiss and Hubert saw a genuine smile from Edelgard he’s never really seen before.

Ferdinand had a way of being frustratingly right at the most annoying of times. His job had only been made that much harder with the former Prime Minister's son policing and questioning his ever move and trying to put some moral spin on it.
He had a job to do as the heir to House Vestra and its curse. Any traitors to the throne had to be killed.
In a fit of irritation, Hubert cast a sleep spell on the culprit so that they may talk without him over hearing. The captive crumpled to the ground, and Hubert gave Ferdinand a hard stare.
"Leaving him alive will only give him a chance to recoup with other traitors. Even if he's in jail. It would be easier to just kill him. Are you going to stand here and second guess all my decision as the tactician of this army? It could easily be you under arrest and charged with treason because of your father's crimes. Remember your place, Ferdinand." Hubert hissed.
He was being a bit angry about this, but if Ferdinand had no trust in him to do his job competently than what was even the point of letting him into the army other than to be a liability. He still had ties to the old regime BECAUSE of his father.
Crossing his arms, Hubert clicked his tongue, "Fine then what do you supposed we do with him since you want to drag him through a trial."
The most frustrating thing was that Ferdinand knew he and Hubert had the same goal. Ultimately, of course. The method in which they both were choosing to go about reaching it different, but the goal was the same. A world, a future without Crests, or at least one that didn't assign a person's worth based upon whether or not they held one. A world where people could be judged on their own merit, not just on the basis of whether or not they happened to win the genetic lottery.
In order for this world to succeed, it had to be built upon a solid foundation. Truth and justice and honor. If no one could trust that they would uphold their values, then no one would trust that actually change could come to the land.
And that meant holding traitors in prison until they could undergo due process and a fair trial. Otherwise, they were simply committing murders all in the name of their Empress.
"I am aware of the crimes the man is being accused of." And likely was guilty of as well, but Ferdinand ignored that as he glared at Hubert. "And I am aware of the punishment of those crimes. But if we declare ourselves as judge, jury, and executioner then we are continuing a system that is no better than the one Edelgard wishes to replace."
If Hubert truly wanted to end the man's life, Ferdinand wouldn't stop him. But he would make it clear he didn't support the decision.

*Ferdinand gets a call from Hubert*
Ferdinand: Hello love, what’s taking you so long?
Kidnapper: Listen here prime minister, we’ve got your little boyfriend in our clutches. So you’ll have to meet our demands if you ever...
Ferdinand: I’m gonna stop you right there. He’s not trapped in with you, you’re trapped in there with him.
Kidnapper: Well then. Maybe I’ll have to put him on the phone. You hearing his scared voice will certainly convince you.
Hubert: *Tied up with the phone being held to his ear* Hey Ferdie. I think I’m gonna be a little longer than expected.
Ferdinand: Could you give me a time? I still haven’t ordered dinner.
Hubert: *After a few moments* Give me an hour.
Ferdinand: Perfect.
*Noises of a brawl happening in the background of the call*
Ferdinand: They never learn do they.
