thinking of a scene idea in season three when the gang encounters aphrodite. and one of the experienced half-bloods like thalia or zoe or grover are explaining to bianca how aphrodite's physical form is unique for each person. beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. and the camera just pans over to percy whose overhearing this conversation and staring at aphrodite. and its revealed that aphrodite has taken the form of annabeth in percy's eyes. confirmation for the audience and for percy that his feelings for annabeth are a little ways past friendship.

Cass get used to summon the Infinite King but with a twist.

What the cultists were trying for weeks to understand the translation which was sacrifice a person before the kidnapping part and Bernie idea was to use Boogle... which mostly work except..

When they used translation, apparently Boogle had screwed up a few words..

Instead of let the sacrifice gazes upon it's huge form, it had said true form....

What Everyone else saw the Infinite King as a huge towering being made of stars, cosmos and galaxies swirling around him like a necklace drapping over like he was the sun itself as the cultists offered black bat as a bride for him but what Cass who was inside the sacrifice circle saw was a small lil kid in a very very oversized king outfit that looks like it was made of galaxies blankets.

His ears were very pointy, hair was white as snow, freckles in the shape of constellations all over his face, with a large necklace in a shape of galaxies inside a oversized ball hanging on his neck.

What everyone heard was the ear splitting voices merging and meshing at one that even one Tim's favorite translator committed suicide then translate That.

What Cass heard was the lil one was..

"Thos' frutloops are at it agan'- Am was sleepng.." as the kid struggled to move around in his clothes, accidentally freezing a couple of cultists..

"Am sorri, they never stop calling me and it was sleeping night night time and I didn't mean to intrude on your world cuz am not a destroy guy like the king before me." The kid clumsy bowed almost tripping on his own feet considering the large blankey was in his ways.

If It weren't for Cass's quick reflex stop the kid from tripping.

The kid look up smiling so adorably with a Gap between his teeths with freckles glow with a soft shade of green as he thanks her and hope to see her again as he leaves into the swirling portal right after blowing all the ritual candles.

As Cass turn around to see the gaping batfam look at her in horror while Jason looked in awe and amazement..

She doesn't know what they saw through those few moments.

One of the things that strikes me about the whole Neil Gaiman thing is that people really want to portray Amanda Palmer as being a remorselessly complicit figure, when a lot of things that are very obviously fucked up and menacing when you put it next to the actual assaults going on - are perfectly normalised and accepted within poly/ENM world. All of these things are fucked up and menacing, but the bubble of pseudo-feminist poly world is incredibly effective at making you totally oblivious to the fact that you're opening the door to abuse and emotional damage.

The thing of 'oh we just slept together and I took a consensual nude of you, now can I have your consent to send it to my husband' is a feature of poly culture, not a bug. Suggestive and inappropriate comments to a woman about how hot your husband will find her are completely normalised. A statement from your husband like 'I don't get to play with my Dom side with you, so I need to be with other women who are natural subs' (which I suspect is the reason he gave when he kept having affairs when she was eight months pregnant, after agreeing to be monogamous) is something that culture will expect you to be completely Cool Girl about. Being blasé when a woman comes to you and says 'your husband made a pass at me' is also the expected Cool Girl reaction. Bringing women into your circle that you think your husband will find hot is completely par for the course in those mindsets and part of being a good and fun and sexy partner - no one doing that in poly culture thinks of themselves as 'feeding him women to rape' or grooming. Lots of people seem to find Amanda telling Neil that he couldn't hit on Scarlett, but still leaving him alone with her, to be jawdropping - but, as someone who has had people in ENM relationships exhibit poor boundaries around me and try to insinuate me into their sex lives in inappropriate ways, I know that that kind of thing is seen as due diligence and an appropriate way to navigate a situation. My experience of people immersed in that kind of culture is just this general assumption that words and agreements are magic - that all you need to do is communicate and agree terms and everything is fine, and if an agreement is violated you just need to communicate more and agree terms and everything is fine, pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

What a lot of people want (and have wanted all along when they were making jokes about how understandable it was for Neil to 'fly across the world to escape having lockdown with her') is for Amanda Palmer to have been a truly abhorrent person, when the truth is that the whole culture around poly/ENM/open relationships - not necessarily the stated rules everyone claims to be abiding by, but the actual culture itself - encourages this stuff, especially from women.

I'm not suggesting Amanda is a victim in anywhere close to the same way as any of the women profiled in the reportage, and I do think her learned obliviousness enabled her complicity in creating a situation like Scarlett being left alone with Neil, but she has clearly been manipulated as well. Think of how insanely manipulative it was for him to wait until she was in late-stage pregnancy to start violating the terms of their marriage, how he surprised her with a lot of 'dark' elements of his personality after they were already married with a child, how we don't even necessarily know how much control she had over the marital pursestrings, how (as covered in the Tortoise podcasts) he would pressure the woman who lived on his estate into sexual activity by saying that Amanda, not him, wanted to sell the house and kick her out - and that if she kept him sweet he'd be her advocate against his evil wife. He is so clearly a profoundly manipulative person and it's just lunacy to suggest that none of that manipulation will have been targeted at Amanda.

Silent Phantom

Ok, here’s a dead silent fic idea (dead silent is Cass x Danny right?). Anyways, in this, Danny is mute. Either his accident (and lynchinburg scars) traveled up to his neck, permanently injuring his vocal cords so he can’t speak or I get into ghost lore where Danny is considered a type of banshee so while he can speak, his voice is literally his wail and causes a lot of damage. This happens in both human and ghost form. If I go this route, then the wail will not drain Danny of energy as much as it does in the show but it will be so destructive that Danny can’t use it without hurting others so it’s a last resort. Anyways, Danny can’t speak. The justice league hear about this new hero going around and helping people, stoping natural disasters, and defeating these other strange creatures (ghost have started appearing out of just amity thanks to the natural portals) and the justice league try to make contact however, Danny can’t talk to them. He can’t shout at them over fights or even respond to their questions in normal conversations. So most of the time he just leaves or stands there in awkward silence before turning invisible and leaving. The justice league think he’s rude and that he’s just ignoring them. But Cass sees how Phantom reacts and how he doesn’t seem to speak at all. Like, not even crying out in pain when he’s hit. So one day, she sees him and goes up to him and just starts signing ASL. Phantom lights up and he gets super excited and starts frantically signing back. He comes right up to Cass with a bright grin asking questions, asking where she learned sign, about the justice league, all kinds of things and they have an actual conversation. For the first time, it was like Phantom was acting like a kid. The justice league eventually learns why Phantom had been ‘ignoring’ them and Phantom bonds with Cass and they start teaming up. They also learn why Phantom can’t speak. (I kinda like the banshee idea).
