But there might be something to this? Gimme a sec
Dopamine = Choleric temperament because this temperament correlates with the established dynamics of an Obsessive/Compulsive personality structure (in psychoanalytic theory). They are fiery, authoritative, challenge the status quo, and often dissatisfied with everything (ie lower dopamine)
Serotonin = Melancholic temperament because it correlates with the dynamics of Depressive personality structures. They are others-oriented, self-abandoning, practical, and often struggle with mood stability (ie lower serotonin)
Norepinephrine (noradrenaline) = Phlegmatic temperament because it correlates with the dynamics of a Schizoid personality structure. They are highly conscientious, empathetic, easily overwhelmed, avoid experiencing the fullness of their emotions due to intensity, and often struggle with dissociation (ie lower norepinephrine)
gamma-Aminobutyric acid (GABA) = Sanguine temperament because it correlates with dynamics of the Hysterical personality structure. They see beauty in pain, inspire others with their creativity, and often struggle with the embodiment of their emotions because their nervous systems are too sensitive (ie lower GABA)
is it just me or does the way people treat like "dopamine" and "serotonin" in modern pop psych context read exactly like balancing the humors

The Lore of the universe moon mites exist in is a work in progress (most of all the designs of the aliens lol). This would be approximately 1'500 years into the future, this Galactic society being incredibly young as before it, space was nearly completely silent and antisocial. Putting the Dark Forest theory at play here (if you know what that entails heh), humans being the odd one out just because they've been screaming into space with no regard for their safety since the start of their societal evolution (which is why various of species of aliens silently hovered above to see what the ruckus was.. some less well-intentioned than others, but their interference wasn't enough to influence humanity as a whole.) Once humanity was able to travel through the stars more effectively, THEY would be the ones to make the first move into first contact, which became an alliance, which became a collective of alliances, and a new form of Galactic urbanization was born. Of course, with it still young, it has... plenty of flaws, most of them ethical.
Have this stupid doodle of my and my friend's ( @perkybat ) sonas in this universe lol. Fun Fact, sentient machines that operate without organic material (like brain organoids) are not considered "alive" legally, so their rights are up in the air to be violated by many species, often having to live on the run and as outlaws to make ends meet.
Also some mite lore!! Starting with the eldest Core Leader, Gen0
An ancient mite kit who's grown to be cruel and vengeful after being subjected to not only the abduction and torment of his entire species but experimentation that had irreparably altered his blood as well as the rest of his kind for the worst. Resulting in the modern mite.
Also some more mite lore, being their tonic berserker response AS WELL as a lethal psychological aliment that has originated from them. Three examples of individuals afflicted being a bluavia nurse, and two Planetary Pest Control Hunters (Eric belonging to @themagicbrew). Edgar might look familiar because I'm literally yoinking him for this, I love him too much to NOT use him.
Also some doodles with partial lore but generally for fun + Asshat and Jackass mite.

"Dominated by Compulsion" by Siegfried Mandel (1959)
(Mr. Mandel, on the British faculty of Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute, is a critic of modern fiction from both sides of the Atlantic.)
Readers who became acquainted only recently with Mary Renault through her magnificent historical novel, "The King Must Die," may be surprised to learn that she has seven earlier works of fiction to her credit. Since the Thirties, she has had a large English audience for what might be called "psychological romances" placed in contemporary settings. "Middle Mist," for instance, concerns itself with three young ladies in Cornwall who slowly work out their personal problems; "Return to Night" features a plaintive duet between a small-town lady doctor and a would-be actor; "North Face" allows two strangers to solve their marital difficulties while mountain climbing. In all these novels, Miss Renault masters a lyrical style, meticulous and probing, and introduces us into a world of emotions so delicate and private that the reader often feels like an intruder. Much the same can be said for "The Charioteer," an early Renault novel which pictures the subtleties and crudities that mark a subterranean fraternity of homosexuals in wartime England. Since Miss Renault deliberately refrains from sitting in judgment on her characters and offers no hashed-over sociological explanations, the entire novel hinges on the effective portrayal of Laurie Odell. We must infer that because Laurie never really knew his father, he was disposed to seek a masculine image and ideal among his surroundings. At prep school (which in fiction seems to be a breeding place for taboo relationships) Laurie "was lifted into a kind of exalted dream, part loyalty, part hero-worship, all romance. Half-remembered images moved in it, the tents of Troy, the columns of Athens, David waiting in an olive grove for the sound of Jonathan's bow." In answer to this dream comes Ralph Lanyon, a campus hero, who symbolically offers Laurie a copy of Plato's "Phaedrus," a discourse on love. Later their lives become more firmly entwined when Ralph saves Laurie at Dunkirk. While recovering from a kneecap wound, Laurie meets other members of Ralph's fraternity - chillingly etched by the author. Some of them carry their inclinations to excess, and in distress Laurie turns to a mild-mannered hospital orderly for understanding. This relationship is doomed because Laurie is so completely dominated by compulsion and instinct that he has no choice but to commit himself to Ralph permanently. As if to illustrate Laurie's expressed regrets that he was not born in ancient Athens where bisexuality was permissive, where he could have had a family and a lover, too, Miss Renault wrote a sequel, "The Last of the Wine," a novel set in the times of Plato. Viewed from a historic distance the subject becomes less unpalatable. While working against the inevitable odds of deviational material, the author has a breadth of insight that rarely permits "The Charioteer" to falter. At times Miss Renault echoes the demonic tone of Proust's "Cities of the Plain" and adopts the outspokenness of such related contemporary novels as Charles Jackson's "The Fall of Valor."

introductory post (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*
Hellooo <3 I've been on Tumblr for a few years now, however, lately I have become a bit of a slacker in terms of my student and professional life and a lot of y'all have inspired me to get a studyblr + accountability blog to help keep myself in check, focused and driven
🌻 about me ♡
name: tofu
age: 23
pronouns: she/her
zodiac: ⊙ aries, ☽ scorpio, ↑ scorpio
languages I speak: english, hindi, japanese (beginner)
🌻 my favourite subjects ♡
- academic: chemistry, cybersecurity, creative writing, biology, personal finance, physics, discrete math, intro to programming (the easiest part about a cs degree yet daunting)
- non-academic: cosmetic science, psychology, literature, ancient/modern history, physics, astronomy, linguistics
I'm trying to once again pick up hobbies that I used to have as a child, such as reading, singing, gardening, cooking/baking, scrapbooking
In my free time, I love watching asian soap operas, Studio Ghibli, and sitcoms that I'd like to call my comfort shows and video essays related to all my non-academic subject interests
I'm an undergrad student currently enrolled in a computer science/fintech double major and I'm preparing either to enter the workforce or pursue a masters in either quantitative finance or bioinformatics engineering or data science (wow, the existential crisis that came with typing up that sentence). I could also talk more about my interests in the above-mentioned subject areas, or new ones as they come up. My goal is to create a routine for myself that I can actually stick to, and spend each day having learnt at least something, no matter how small. I feel like the only way to achieve that is by comparing myself to my peers (I know that is v toxic but hey it helps). Additionally I really want to learn how to drive this year, learn to crochet and keep up with new technologies, do some art journalling to take my mind off stress.
I'm so excited to meet new people on here and keep myself busy and productive! ❤️

Sonic and The Black Knight - "Medival in a Modern World" fic summery
So, I've fallen back into the STH fandom for a hot minute. Falling down into the rabbit hole that is the Black Knight game. Which apparently has a small cult following? And if anyone has read my Pokémon fic, you know medieval meeting modern is one of my favorite tropes. So, After reading through such fics as "Coruscation" by @oz-qwin, "What Isn't Yours" by aTalewithEars, and the "Sonic Destiny AU" by @burning-stars98 I've been bitten by the Sonic X Arthurian tales bug. (Pls go read these other fics, the authors are very talented and their works deserve far more attention then they current have.)
So, taking some inspiration from the fic mentioned above, and my own headcanons/aus, here's my take on the knights of the round table being taken forward in time to the age of what ever the heck year the present is for the Sonic lore in fic summery form.
HeadCanons to keep note of For context!
Maria : This story will be featuring my own version of Maria Robotnik. She was revived as a Hedgehog using old DNA stores from PROJECT SHADOW with modified phenotypes, and chaos energy, to be used a psychological weapon against Shadow by a rogue branch of GUN, during an Event known as the Equinox War. Later on after being freed from the Rogue branch, she joined the front lines (that girl took a bullet to save her brother, she is not going to sit on the sidelines while he fights a war), mostly working in the desert zones, where she picked up swordsmanship from Zero the Jackal, and an enchanted blade of her own (this one is not from Camelot though). She starts working with Team Dark Post War, to stay close to family, but keeps in contact with all the friends she made in the Desert along with her own team, Team Sahara (Maria, Gadget the Wolf, and Zero the Jackal).
Equinox War: One year Post Forces, (this whole concept was written out before fronters was released) the world was kind of wrapped up in a second major conflict that is known as the Equinox war. That event was basically another ancient god-like being rising from her slumber that go so big that GUN had to get involved and they took a big hit in terms of resources. However, unlike before Eggman was just caught in the crossfire of the whole thing and didn't actually raise the deity.
Eclipse the Darkling: Eclipse had remained in hiding after the conflict on Angel Island, until he was captured by human forces and held for experimentation that less than legal. He was captive until mid Equinox War, where Shadow raided the base he was trapped in. Post rescue the brothers sort out there issues and bond while trying to locate the Dark Arms (Maria really got on their case as well, wanting her brothers to not kill each other). He still doesn't like humans, but it's more from a trauma stand point rather then looking at them as lesser. He joined up with GUN for the protection it offers him Post War, and to stay close with his brother and sister.
Zero the Jackal: Like many people of the fandom I was disappointed with Infinite's wasted potential and decided to do something about. After Forces, Eggman rips the phantom Ruby from his chest and dumps him in the desert to die. A fate that Zero is fine with at this point, he's lost everything and without the Ruby to manipulate his emotions his head is clear enough to finally grieve and accept his death. By some miracle Gadget finds him, and goes "No, you don't deserve this. If you feel guilty, then chase redemption, cause I'm not letting you give up." Zero does achieve this, by destroying all Phantom Ruby copies during the Equinox war, though it does cost him his left arm. And Gadget and Tails build him a prosthetic. His situation with Shadow is still kind of tense, but they play nice for Maria's sake.
(if you have any questions feel free to ask, if I missed the context)
Summery:
We start with Ivo Robotnik. Eggman had been sort of in the dry spell when it comes to evil schemes. He's been in a slump since the Equinox conflict and with GUN stretched thin, it was the perfect time to strike.
While plotting, Sage had been going through his old data files and stumbled upon some old notes from Gerald Robotnik. Eggman would at first dismiss it until he reads closer, and learns that during the early days of PROJECT SHADOW, his uncle, Maria's Father, had stumbled upon a number of tombs from a kingdom lost to time. Due to the relics inside the tombs it was believed they belonged to great warriors, and Eggman's Uncle ended up sending over some of the relics along with bone samples up to the ARK. With Eggman's curiosity peaked, he decides to explore his Grandfather's quarters on the ARK. Sure the place had been cleaned out during the initial invasion, but Gerald wasn't called a genius for nothing. Hidden in a secret compartment inside of his office, Eggman finds a collection of old swords and the bone samples. With that the mad doctor has his next plan to hatch. He would revive these warriors of old, and use them to Concur the WORLD!!!! Ivo is pretty confident in this plan. Modify one of his bases with the right equipment, and have metal steal a chaos emerald or two and he'd be golden! Right?...No way these guys would side with Sonic the blue rat.
Let's swap POVs real quick! Lancelot is very confused when he wakes up. After all the last thing he remembers is dying during the fall of Camelot. One final attack on castle town ended in a blaze that consumed all who were involved. He should be dead. So, how in his mother's name is he alive on a cold armored floor, surrounded by his comrades and son imprisoned in crystal chambers filled with unknown waters. Gawain, Percival and Galahad (Sir Lamorak's tomb was never found hence no revival) are released from their chambers not long after, and then a tall creature enters the room, a man dressed in strange garments with a mustache of utter fantastic propositions. Ivo Robotnik as he introduces himself, is some form of a wizard, who tells them he has used very powerful magic to summon them from beyond the grave to fight against evil forces who are now invading the land.
The next week is a confusing one. Robotnik fashions them new armor and while he claims to have their swords the Dr. has not returned them yet. There's a lot of conflicting emotions surrounding the whole ordeal. Lancelot is just mostly relieved that Galahad has been brought back along side him, as he had to learn that his son was slain on the same battlefield as he. Percival is quiet, though she is suspicious of Robotnik off the bat. Gawain is the first to get stir crazy, and wants to know they way to the exit, however he feels as if he owes Robotnik for his rebirth and should be loyal.
At some point Galahad ropes Gawain into exploring the base and they find some rather interesting things. First off clearly Robotnik is by far an incredibly powerful wizard, judging by the number of enchanted armor soldiers he wields and the fact that he has a daughter whom they mistake for a fae spirit, on a count of Sage's less corporal nature. However the most surprising fact they learn comes from the little servants that follow the Dr. around. Orbot and Cubot were the first of the enchanted armor suits they met, and they eventually let it slip that Lancelot's Bone was used once before in an experiment to make an Ultimate Warrior. Cubot is the one who rambles on about it, how there is no question since they look so similar, and how shadow betrayed Robotnik before Orbot shuts him up.
It's this discovery that raises a lot of questions. After all if warrior made from Lancelot's bone was anything like his father, why would he turn against Robotnik...unless he knew something they didn't. Unfortunately for them they have this conversation right in front of a set of security cameras and Sage let's Eggman know immediately. and he figures the plan is a bust, so he decides to terminate it before it gets any further. In the middle of the night the knights flee from badniks through out the facility, a chase that ends with Lancelot sending the other three away with magic and getting captured. Percival, Galahad and Gawain are tossed into a random spot on in the mobius country side. This place while outside is clearly not camelot, they are with out swords...and WHAT IN THE NAME OF THE UNDERWORLD HAPPENED TO THE MOON?!
Switching gears over. Sonic has been enjoying a little break from the mayhem of the Equinox War. Eggman had been quiet and peace restored, meaning he had a lovely few weeks of just freedom and hanging with his friends and brother. Of course, he knew this wouldn't last, it never did, and one night Tails' satellite picked up on a weird energy jump near the workshop on the Greenhill coast. Figuring it's the next big adventure, he grabs a flashlight and zips over to investigate. Only to find faces he never thought he would see again. Sonic remembers the fall of Camelot, burning alive by dragon fire, only to wake up in his room in Tails' workshop. He thought it was dream. Yet here stood three familiar faces he'd never thought he would see again. Their reunion is one of relief and shock. Still once pleasantries are exchanged, Sonic is down to help them, their his friends and its his job to stop Eggman at whatever the doctor is planning. He takes them to Tails' workshop, to further a plan and to get Tails' on the hero network, or a web of communication between Mobius' heroes he set up for easy information exchange. The Fox was underneath the impression that the whole Camelot thing was a dream too, but isn't that phased by the bizarre situation.
While Gawain and Percival are exstaic to find that they had been reborn in the realm of their King. Galahad is a little more worried. Out of the three he had the least interactions with Sonic while in Camelot, he and Lamaork were out on a training journey for most of his short rule, and only came back for the fall. Getting his father out of Robotnik's hands is his priority, after all snuffing a life was far easier then bringing on back to life, and the Doctor was capable of both or worse things. And while Sonic does want to get Lancelot back, Galahad feels as if merely the five of them will be enough. So, he asks if they could locate his brother, as surely he'd want their father back as soon as possible. Sonic and Tails are confused at first but once Galahad explains what Cubot told him, their faces drop and they utter one word, "Shadow."
It's decided after this revelation that they have to involve Team Dark, one they have the most experience with infiltration and have access to GUN resources, two if Lancelot is Shadow's dad, they can't not tell Shadow with how touchy the topic of family is to the dark hedgehog. Sure, he had definitely mellowed out since Maria was revived and Eclipse was reformed (these three are a trio of chaos siblings who get their happily every after, and I will die on this hill), but his history with parental figures were never the best, with the at best brainwashing him and at worst trying to kill him. Still Shadow will likely be more upset the longer they keep it from him, so Sonic, along with Gawain and Galahad travel off to the cities since Rouge isn't picking up her phone, while Percival and Tails try to locate the base Eggman is likely using for his main base this scheme.
By the time they make it to team dark's apartment it's really late at night, but Sonic decides just to barge in anyway, after all Rouge can be nocturnal if she wants to be and Omega only needs to charge his chaos drive like once a week so at least one person is awake at all times. Omega answers the door and in order to wake up his flesh bag teammates he activates his intruder alarm system, the chaos that followed ended with several broken windows, shouting, a bunch of crying dark arms and a flaming sword stuck in the living room wall.
Galahad knows his brother the moment Shadow runs into the room. The spinning image of their father, down to sleepy sneer. What he didn't expect was for this reptilian creature to growl at him when he got close to his brother. Several family realizations happen in the next coming moments. Galahad learns of Maria, who is technically his sister due to her new body being built from left over DNA samples from PROJECT SHADOW, just with altered phenotypes so she resembled her human self, and Shadow having a half brother from a race the lived in the stars.
Shadow doesn't take learning of his hedgehog heritage well, as far as he's concerned Lancelot is a stranger. Sure, he'll rescue the knight from Eggman, but only because he's being held against his will..and maybe because he wants a blood test just to be sure. Maria is a little more open, she gets the whole stranger thing, however she can't deny that it makes sense. Her human father and grandfather were obsessed with old legends, even going so far as to read tales of the round table to her as bedtime stories when she was little. That along with the passion she found for swordfighting after being revived is enough prove for her. Eclipse just wants to back to bed, he has four little ones all of which were rudely awakened in the middle of the night. He does not have time for family issues, besides technically this has nothing to do with his side of the familial tree. However, he does keep a mental eye on Shadow's mind through the hive just to make sure his big brother is okay.
Rouge goes into spy mode once given a directive. She knows this situation might become explosive if they don't start focusing on a mission plan. She video calls Tails and the fox reveals their findings along with what the Chaotix have after getting in touch with them. Sadly their findings had been meagre so far but they've narrowed down a few hidden facilities, Rouge with GUN Intel can cut out a few more, and Shadow and Maria know the revival process and what type of environment is needed for it to work properly. Unless Eggman built an entire new base for this plan which is unlikely due to a shortage of resources post war, they narrow it down to one location. They call Topaz for a ride and to watch the dark arms while they're gone and the mission is on.
While on the plane ride to the base. Galahad and Percival talk about Shadow. Galahad is rather disappointed Shadow acts so distant, he's always wanted siblings. Maria has been sweet, but she still feels detached and Eclipse hasn't talked to him period. The cat revealing that she had read over the files that Tails had on Shadow's birth. The information explains some things but not others, the closeness between Shadow and Eclipse is explained by some magic linking the two as Black Arm "Princes", being born from the Black Arm king's blood, however how did Maria fit into the picture? What happened to Shadow's other parent? Did he perish? Where was the Black Arm kingdom? Did it crumble? Leaving Shadow without a family or crown to inherit? Is the reason Shadow is so distant with him because he doesn't want to replace the Black King with their father? Sadly however, Galahad doesn't get to dwell on his questions, as he has to watch as his brother and king jump out of the flying machine for an air drop assault.
Omega, Rouge and Tails with air support keep the badniks outside busy, while the rest of the team goes inside. First the stumble upon a storeroom that thankfully has Caliburn. However, it becomes rather evident that this whole thing was trap, as soon they come face to face with Metal Sonic and a Roboticized Lancelot, wielding Arondight. A fight quickly breaks out, the rest of them covering Maria as she tries to jerry rig the equipment in the room to try and reverse the change. Eventually Metal gets knocked to the side, and this gives Maria chance she needs successfully reversing the transformation, much to everyone relief. However the moment is short lived, Metal is never down for long, and to escape he shoots the still woozy Lancelot.
A hasty retreat is call, cause good lord, a hedgehog should not lose this much blood. A GUN medical center is happy to take Lancelot in, however they need information from a next of kin and Galahad knows nothing of their modern medicine. Shadow and Maria thankfully step in at that point (they know how to talk to doctors), and they settle in for the long wait. At some point Shadow drags Galahad off to the showers, the grey hedgehog still being covered in blood. Which leads to a little bonding between the two. Commander Tower comes down to figure what the hell is happening, because when his assistance came running to him saying "Shadow" was just admitted to surgery, he thought there was a new weapon threatening the world. Only to be less then thrilled with the whole medieval knights thing, since it means a lot of paper work for him.
Eventually, Everyone (including Lancelot, he's at major risk for post-op infection at the hospital, and Shadow, Rouge and Maria are first aid trained) just heads back to the Team Dark Apartment and once there set up, crashes. Shadow gives up his bed for Lancelot, and bunks with Maria, who insisted on a "Sibling Sleep Pile", while everyone else piles on their massive couch. At some point in the night Maria realizes that Galahad never went to sleep, staying perched at his father's bedside despite looking half dead, and drags him to join her and her other brothers and the Dark Arms for the night.
Galahad wakes up the next morning, too Shadow and Eclipse leaving the room. He follows them and is roped into helping them make breakfast. The grey hedgehog ends up asking about the whole Hive mind thing, since it's very clear the other two are having a conversation without speaking. He quickly learns that Eclipse talks a lot more willingly then Shadow, however when the Topic of Black Doom comes up and Galahad starts pushing a little two far, Eclipse subtlety points out Shadow's back scars from the Doom Wings. Galahad quickly catches on, and his opinion of the Black king drops greatly. Once the smell of fresh waffles hits the air, the other occupants start to wake up. Rouge makes coffee (giving straight beans for Shadow and Maria, with a disgusted look), and maybe hooks Gawain on the stuff.
The topic of finding the other blades come up, at this point all they have are Caliburn and Arondight, and reasonable that Eggman took the others with him as he escaped. So, they spend a few hours making plans to go Eggman hunting. Sonic pulls, Tails, Gawain, Percival and Omega out into the field to get information, and start tracking. They take shifts looking around, using the Team Dark Apartment, and Tails' workshop as home bases. During this time a number of interactions happen. When Galahad is ordered to take a break from sitting at his father's bedside he's sparing with either one of the knights or trying to learn some of the battle tactics his new brothers and sister employ. Sonic would take Gawain over to Angel Island to see what Knuckles knows and the echidnas get along like water and rain. While Rouge introduces Percival to the wonderful world of grave robbing.
Lancelot wakes up a couple days later. Galahad was forced to go to bed once 1 am rolled around, so Sonic and Gawain took over watching the wounded knight. They get him caught up, before bringing in Galahad, leading to a touching father-son reunion. Bullet wounds aren't fun to heal from, so despite waking up he's still pretty much not field ready yet. So, he has to entertain himself with speaking to those taking short breaks from searching. This gives him to talk to his sons knew siblings the sheer number of them, unknown to him but not unwelcome. Maria and Eclipse are the most open to talking. The former being polite, curious about more swordsmanship techniques and very willing to explain modern inventions, and the latter, while clearly not Lancelot's by blood, is still clearly a child on some level and will blabber on about anything given the chance. Shadow however, is distant, much to Lancelot's disappointment. Galahad would mention that the scars on Shadow's back were from his (and Eclipse's) other parent, and the elder knight's opinion of Black Doom drops greatly. No father, King or not, should ever harm their child.
Eventually the search for the other swords leads to the desert zones, and Maria pulls in Team Sahara, since no way in heck are they surviving the desert without a guide. Zero and Gadget happy to help, if Eggman is hiding out in their territory they want him gone. Even if their a little baffled by the whole knight situation (Z: how are you not weirded out? G: At this point I can't even question it anymore. M: You're weirded out, I'm living it!) Using connections to the gangs on the outer bend they find where the doctor is hiding. Long story short they take out the base and reclaim the swords.
Meanwhile, Galahad pulls Shadow out on a different mission. The young knight had noticed that while Shadow has accelerated healing, his father's has been lacking. So, he's been begging to see if they can find grandmother's lake. It was always her magic that aided Lancelot. Shadow indulges, though he's skeptical, sure spirits and immortal beings lasted a long time, but they never lasted forever. They could be killed, either by someone's hand or their power running out. Lakes hardly lasted in the modern world, they drain with dams or the landscape changes. Galahad holds on to hope until they manage to uncover the ruins of the lake. It's just another reminder that this is not the world they left so long ago. Shadow eventually asks if the lake was spring fed, and that leads them to a cave, and what's left of Nimue. She is not as strong as she once was. A fae coming to the end of her lifecycle, and unable to communicate beyond a disembodied voice. It breaks Galahads heart, but Nimue comforts him with the knowledge that while she is nearing the end, what she has left is much longer in mortal time. In return, he introduces Shadow, who Nimue is thrilled to meet. However, as much as it pains her she cannot help Lancelot. Once he is well he can return to her for her to restore the enchantments she placed upon him as an infant so long ago, but the distance is too far now. Shadow's magic comes from a different source (black doom's blood), hence no need for enchantments.
In the end, Eggman is beaten back, but he'll return. He always does. This whole situation makes Sonic think about how it would've been easier, if they had better contact with all the other heroes of the world. From an off comment from Caliburn, he starting thinking that maybe the whole table thing might need to be brought back, though it would need a better name.

The Psychology of Qi Rong (TW for cannibalism and mental health)
This is a review of Qi Rong's behaviour and symptoms in relation to this authors note. According to MXTX, if put into a modern day context, Qi Rong would be said to have bipolar disorder. In order to verify this statement, this post is dedicated to comparing actual symptoms of bipolar disorder and Qi Rong's behaviour from the novel in order to prove this statement true.
I would like to put out a disclaimer that I am not a licensed psychology practitioner, but a student who hasn't finished his degree yet. I am simply writing this because this authors note wouldn't leave my brain. Please don't expect total accuracy from this post, though I will try my best to ensure that there is no error on my part
I would also like everyone to note that the term bipolar itself, is used to describe a spectrum of disorders, and that simply regulating it to one term would be incorrect, and that treatment can vary depending on the disorder
Bipolar Disorder: History, Symptoms and Probable Causes
Bipolar disorder is characterized by chronically occurring episodes of mania or hypomania alternating with depression and is often misdiagnosed initially. Treatment involves pharmacotherapy and psychosocial interventions, but mood relapse and incomplete response occur, particularly with depression.
(I want everyone to make note that the first recorded case of Bipolar Disorder as an illness was by Pierre Farlet in the mid-19th Century (1851-1854), who called it “folie circulaire” (circular madness). It was defined by manic and melancholic episodes separated by symptom-free intervals.
In 1854 Baillarger used the term "folie à double forme" to describe cyclic (manic–melancholic) episodes (Pichot 1995; Ritti 1879).
There also seems to be a mention of bipolar disorder (Unsure of this, take with a bit of salt) in the book Eight Treatesies on the Nurturing of Life by Gao Lian (Different character from the Lian in Xie Lian); dating back to the Ming Dynasty (1591 {first publication()} [requires fact checking])
(Note: Records of treatment of mental disorders in Ancient China go all the way back to the Tang Dynasty. If you check wikipedia, there is the claim that it goes back to 1100 BCE, which I can't confirm [requires fact checking])
Criteria to be met before diagnosing someone with Bipolar I Disorder according to the DSM-5 are at least one manic episode. This may be preceded by and may be followed by hypomanic or major depressive episodes and the occurrence of the manic and major depressive episode(s) is not better explained by schizoaffective disorder, schizophreniform disorder, delusional disorder, or other specified or unspecified schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorder
Manic episodes are characterised increased talkativeness, rapid speech, a decreased need for sleep, racing thoughts, distractibility, increase in goal-directed activity, and psychomotor agitation. Some other hallmarks of mania are an elevated or expansive mood, mood lability, impulsivity, irritability, and grandiosity (Can be remembered using the DIGFAST mnemonic)
Rapid cycling in bipolar disorder is defined as having at least 4 or more mood episodes in a 12-month period. These mood episodes may be manic, hypomanic, or depressive but must meet their full diagnostic and duration criteria. These episodes must be separated by periods of partial or full remission of at least 2 months or be separated by a switch to an episode of opposite polarities, such as mania or hypomania to major depressive episodes (Note: Switching from mania to hypomania or vice-versa would not qualify because they are not opposite polarity). Rapid cycling bipolar disorder patients have been found to be more resistant to pharmacotherapy.
Hypomania and mania can be distinguished by a certain feature- hypomania does not cause major deficits in social and occupational functioning. The duration of a manic episode is at least a week, while a hypomanic episode is about four days
Symptoms of a depressive episode include feeling very down/sad/anxious, slowed down or restless, trouble falling asleep, waking up too early, or sleeping too much, talking very slowly, feeling unable to find anything to say, or forgetting a lot, trouble concentrating or making decisions, unable to do even simple things, lack of interest in almost all activities, and feeling hopeless/worthless, or thinking about death or suicide
(Note: According to the DSM-5, major depressive and hypomanic episodes are common in bipolar I disorder but are not required for the diagnosis)
Bipolar II Disorder is defined by a pattern of depressive episodes and hypomanic episodes. The hypomanic episodes are less severe than the manic episodes in bipolar I disorder
And finally, cyclothymic disorder/cyclothymia is defined by recurring hypomanic and depressive symptoms that are not intense enough or do not last long enough to qualify as hypomanic or depressive episodes
Like in the case of most mental disorders, there is no known cause for disorders on the bipolar spectrum, however the most widelt agreed upon risk factors are brain structure and functioning (some studies show that the brains of people with bipolar disorder differ in certain ways from the brains of people who do not have bipolar disorder or any other mental disorder), and genetics (some research suggests that people with certain genes are more likely to develop bipolar disorder. Research also shows that people who have a parent or sibling with bipolar disorder have an increased chance of having the disorder themselves).
In relation to genetics, many genes are involved, and no one gene causes the disorder (Which, if the authors note is true, we can assume that one of his parents carried the genes for it, most probably his father).
青鬼戚容
Qi Rong needs no introduction or abstract (Because I don't have to submit this to a prof hehehe) to start with. He is iconic, and rightfully so. In order to try and analyse Qi Rong's behaviour, let us take a glance at his introductory (In this case, first physical) appearance.
In his first (physical) appearance Qi Rong talks shit about others, which isn't really notable in regards to this topic. Its like my Mother after the guests leave and she's finished playing social politics. Its nothing interesting, just the typical criteria for the average aunty.
But you know what is interesting? His lair.
He has a throne, a banquet hall style dining set up. The only things he needs is the cauldron to cook (human) meat. I don't remember any of his subordinates needing to eat, and considering all of the salted carrion he has hanging around; not to mention the fresh meat stores he keeps (Three hundred humans...three hundred), he doesn’t eat a good chunk of the humans brought to him immediately. Its all unnecessarily grandiose for a single person, (We know that he doesn’t invite any dinner guests over. If he did, they'd be the main course)
If you notice Qi Rongs behaviour a majority of the time fits the criteria for a manic episode. Its also probably why his schemes seem to fail most of the time. Note that there has to be a remission period of two months in the case of rapid cycling (Which I belive occurs in Qi Rongs case), so MXTX is right, in a way. Qi Rong would be diagnosed with a disorder on the bipolar spectrum, more specifically Bipolar I Disorder
(One may also assume that he had cyclothymia during his days as a prince, but I believe that its just a showcase of certain symptoms of Bipolar I Disorder from a young age. He always had it, but it didnt manifest much more visibly until later on in his life)
Now Lets Talk About Kuru
Kuru is an infectious, acquired, non-immunogenic, fatal neurodegenerative prion disease. It progresses rapidly with cerebellar and extrapyramidal signs and symptoms, with death occurring within one to two years of onset of symptoms. What causes Kuru? Cannibalism, or more specifically the consumption of the brain tissue.
The diesease originated and was confined to the Fore Tribe in the Eastern Highlands of Papua New Guinea, where ritualistic cannibalism was practiced. Kuru is now extinct due to the outlawing of ritualistic cannibalism in the region.
(Note: There is a theory that cannibalism occurred due to famine, and that it was ratonalised by the Europeans who arrived their as a ritualistic practice. Colonisers have also used the excuse of cannibalism to colonise and kill indigenous populations)
What causes cannibalism? Usually, the two most predominantly ascribed motivations are hunger and hatred, and the occasional belief that eating human flesh is medicinal.
(This is a bit of a personal note from me, but from what I've heard, human flesh is not good for any living creatures health. In my hometown there are plenty of stories about animals going mad or dying after eating human flesh)
A point I want to make is that we do not know how Qi Rong died. Did he die from being eaten alive? Or did he pass from a neurodegenerative disease caused by consuming human flesh in order to survive? If its the latter, it could explain his behaviour.
Kuru is also known as the laughing disease, as patients exhibited sporadic uncontrollable laughter, due to being emotionally labile. Perhaps Qi Rong passed before the disease could reach the sedentary phase? Maybe he was killed before that. Symptoms of Kuru can take time to manifest completely, so I feel that this theory should not be discounted.

The Philosophy of Happiness
The philosophy of happiness explores the nature, sources, and significance of happiness in human life. It examines what constitutes true happiness, how it can be achieved, and its role in ethical and meaningful living. Philosophers have approached happiness from various perspectives, including ethical, psychological, and existential viewpoints, leading to diverse understandings of what it means to live a happy life.
Key Themes in the Philosophy of Happiness:
Definitions and Concepts of Happiness:
Eudaimonia (Flourishing): In ancient Greek philosophy, particularly in the works of Aristotle, happiness is often equated with "eudaimonia," which is best translated as flourishing or well-being. Eudaimonia is achieved through living virtuously and fulfilling one's potential, rather than through the pursuit of pleasure alone.
Hedonism: Hedonism defines happiness as the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain. This view, associated with philosophers like Epicurus, suggests that a happy life is one in which pleasure is maximized and suffering minimized. However, Epicurus emphasized simple pleasures and the avoidance of excess.
Ethical Theories and Happiness:
Utilitarianism: Utilitarian philosophers like Jeremy Bentham and John Stuart Mill argue that the right action is the one that maximizes happiness for the greatest number of people. In this context, happiness is often understood as the presence of pleasure and the absence of pain.
Virtue Ethics: Aristotle’s virtue ethics posits that happiness is achieved by living a life of virtue. Virtuous actions, in accordance with reason, lead to a state of eudaimonia, where individuals live in harmony with their true nature and purpose.
Deontological Ethics: While not focused solely on happiness, deontological ethics, as developed by Immanuel Kant, suggests that true happiness comes from fulfilling one’s moral duties. Kant argues that happiness is not the primary goal of moral action, but living morally can lead to a form of happiness tied to a sense of duty and integrity.
Happiness and the Good Life:
The Role of Reason: In many philosophical traditions, particularly in the works of Plato and Aristotle, happiness is linked to the exercise of reason. A life guided by rational thought and the pursuit of wisdom is seen as the highest form of happiness.
The Balance of Pleasure and Virtue: Philosophers like Aristotle and the Stoics argue that happiness is not merely about pleasure but involves a balance of pleasure with virtue. Happiness is seen as a byproduct of living a virtuous life, rather than an end in itself.
Subjective and Objective Views of Happiness:
Subjective Well-Being: Modern discussions of happiness often focus on subjective well-being, which is the individual's self-assessment of their life satisfaction and emotional state. This perspective emphasizes personal experience and the psychological aspects of happiness.
Objective Well-Being: In contrast, some philosophers argue that happiness should be understood in objective terms, based on factors like health, relationships, and personal achievements. From this view, happiness is not just about how one feels but also about living a life that meets certain standards of well-being.
Happiness in Different Philosophical Traditions:
Stoicism: Stoic philosophers like Epictetus and Marcus Aurelius argue that happiness comes from accepting the things we cannot change and living in accordance with nature. Happiness, in this view, is achieved through self-discipline, rationality, and emotional resilience.
Epicureanism: Epicurus taught that happiness is found in simple pleasures, friendship, and the absence of pain (ataraxia). He distinguished between necessary and unnecessary desires, advocating for a minimalist lifestyle that avoids unnecessary suffering.
Buddhism: In Buddhist philosophy, happiness is understood as a state of inner peace and enlightenment, achieved by overcoming desire and attachment. The Four Noble Truths outline the path to end suffering, which is seen as the key to true happiness.
Existential Perspectives on Happiness:
Sartre and Existential Freedom: Existentialist philosophers like Jean-Paul Sartre argue that happiness is not a predefined state but something that individuals must create for themselves through their choices. Happiness is linked to the authentic exercise of freedom and the responsibility to define one’s own existence.
Camus and the Absurd: Albert Camus, another existentialist, explores the idea that life is inherently absurd and that the search for meaning or happiness can seem futile. However, he argues that one can still find happiness in embracing the absurd and living fully in the face of it.
The Pursuit of Happiness in Modern Thought:
Positive Psychology: In contemporary philosophy and psychology, the study of happiness has expanded with the development of positive psychology. This field focuses on understanding and fostering the factors that contribute to human flourishing, such as positive emotions, relationships, meaning, and accomplishments.
Happiness and Society: Modern philosophers and social theorists explore the relationship between happiness and social conditions, including wealth, inequality, and political systems. Debates continue on how society can be organized to promote the well-being and happiness of its members.
Critiques and Challenges:
Hedonic Treadmill: One critique of the pursuit of happiness is the "hedonic treadmill" effect, where people quickly return to a baseline level of happiness despite changes in their circumstances. This challenges the idea that lasting happiness can be achieved through external factors alone.
The Paradox of Happiness: Some philosophers and psychologists argue that the direct pursuit of happiness can be self-defeating. Focusing too much on becoming happy may lead to anxiety or disappointment, while happiness often arises as a byproduct of other activities, such as meaningful work or relationships.
The philosophy of happiness offers a rich and varied exploration of what it means to live well. It challenges individuals to consider the sources of true happiness, the role of virtue and reason in the good life, and the balance between personal pleasure and ethical living. Whether seen as a subjective state, an objective condition, or a byproduct of living authentically, happiness remains a central concern in philosophical inquiry, reflecting the enduring human quest for fulfillment and well-being.

The Many Lives of Mongolian Shamanism
The following is excerpted from Sky Shamans of Mongolia: Meetings with Remarkable Healers by Kevin Turner.
For thousands of years, Mongolia has been a nexus of Eurasian shamanisms that competed, mixed, and meshed across our planet's largest continent. Shamanism appears to have emerged with the very dawn of human consciousness, but archeologists can probably speak with confidence about only the past 30,000 to 70,000 years.
Archeological discoveries in Eurasia alone indicate that the practice of shamanism reaches back at least to 35,000 BCE, easily making shamanism the oldest spiritual practice known to mankind. Modern religious faiths such as Buddhism and Christianity are toddlers in comparison, and psychology is a mere newborn.
The word shaman originated from the Tungusic tribal language groups (from areas to the north and east of Mongolia), which are related to Mongolic languages. These are both part of the broader Altaic language group, which includes Turkic, Manchurian, and scores of other Inner Asian and Siberian languages, and may include Korean and Japanese at the easternmost reach. The modern term "shaman" has now been adopted by many as a catch-all word to describe those who by spiritual means seek direct access to information and healing power not ordinarily available.
The nomadic northern Siberian shamanic traditions tend to retain the highly individualistic aspects of shamanism; by contrast, a most interesting facet of Mongolian and Inner Asian shamanism is the amalgamation of the shamans' direct experiences of other realities with a religious belief system known as Tengerism (Heaven or Sky God-ism). Tengerism originated in Sumeria, one of humanity's earliest civilizations, and probably derived from the early experiences of the shamans, prophets, and mystics of pre-Mesopotamian eras.
The modern Mongolian term Tenger (or Tengri), meaning both "sky realms" and "sky spirits," almost certainly derives from the Sumerian word Dingir, also meaning both "sky realm(s)" and "deity(-ies)." The concept of divinity in Sumerian was closely associated with the heavens, evident from the shared cuneiform sign for both heaven and sky, and from the fact that its earliest form is a star shape. The name of every deity in Sumerian is prefixed by a star symbol.
Mircea Eliade proposed that Tengrism may be the closest thing we have found to a reconstructed proto-Indo-European religion. It is also evident that Tengrism's three-layered worldview is nearly identical to the tripartite world found in many kinds of shamanism, as well as the Vedic triloka ("three realms") world structure.
In Mongolian, one who travels the realms of the Tengers is called a Tengeri--"sky-dweller; sky-walker." I like to think that Luke Skywalker, the young warrior-shaman Jedi knight of the fictional Star Wars films, may have inherited his name from this tradition. Interestingly, the BBC reports that in censuses taken in 2001 regarding spiritual beliefs, hundreds of thousands of people selected "Jediism" as their faith of choice--such is the power of shamanism even in our modern myths and legends.
The earliest authenticated records of Mongolian shamanism go back to the beginnings of the Hunnu Dynasty, 209-93 CE (also known as the Xiongnu in Chinese records). Mongolian legend tells us that, during this time, a nine-year-old Hunnu boy united with a she-wolf, engendering the modern-day Mongolian people. The headdress of a shaman (circa 300–100 BCE) was found in one of the graves of Noin-Ula (Mongolian: Noyon uulyn bulsh) in northern Mongolia, and is strikingly similar to the Mongol Darkhad headdress of today. The fabric's colors, weaving methods, and embroidery are also similar to those found in fabric produced by Scythians in the Greek colonies on the Black Sea coast, leading scholars to draw links between these ancient cultures. (Scythian tribal areas were just west of Mongolian territories.)
According to historian and researcher Otgony Purev, shamans played an important role in diplomatic efforts and treaties with neighboring nations. The Hunnu emperors even constructed permanent shamanic shrines, and encouraged individual shamans to synthesize their diverse practices into a national religion. "Shamanist religion" then became part of the organizational basis of governmental and military activity.
Shamanism became the main source of education and ideology for the earliest pre-Mongol states. This continued for nearly 400 years, and ties to education remain influential in the Mongolian shamanic revival even today. With the disintegration of the Hunnu Dynasty, institutionalized shamanism returned to its more natural, individualistic and autonomous forms across a series of disparate Inner Asian kingdoms that spanned a millennium.

EFT Tapping: A Powerful Technique for Emotional Healing Shaina Tranquilino November 4, 2023
Stress, anxiety, and emotional turmoil have become an integral part of our lives. We often find ourselves struggling to cope with overwhelming emotions and negative beliefs that hinder our personal growth and well-being. However, there is a powerful technique called Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) tapping that can help us release these emotional blockages and experience profound healing.
So, what exactly is EFT tapping? Developed in the 1990s by Gary Craig, EFT tapping combines elements of traditional Chinese medicine and modern psychology to address emotional issues. It involves gentle tapping on specific acupressure points on the body while focusing on the negative emotion or belief we want to overcome.
The rationale behind EFT tapping lies in the concept of energy meridians in our body. According to ancient Chinese medicine, disruptions or imbalances in our energy flow lead to various physical and emotional ailments. By stimulating specific acupressure points through tapping, we aim to restore the balance of energy flow and alleviate emotional distress.
The process of EFT tapping begins with identifying a specific issue or problem that causes emotional distress. This could be anything from anxiety, phobias, trauma, limiting beliefs, or even physical pain associated with emotional triggers. Once identified, we rate the intensity of this issue on a scale from 0-10.
Next, we formulate a setup statement that acknowledges the problem while affirming self-acceptance and unconditional love towards ourselves. For example, if dealing with anxiety about public speaking, one might say "Even though I feel anxious when speaking in public, I deeply and completely accept myself."
Then comes the actual tapping phase where we gently tap on specific acupressure points while repeating statements related to the issue at hand. These points include the top of the head (crown), eyebrows (beginning of eyebrows near bridge of the nose), side of the eyes, under the eyes, under the nose, chin (just below the lip), collarbone (where it meets sternum), and under the arm (about 4 inches below armpit). This tapping sequence is repeated multiple times while focusing on the problem.
As we tap through these points, we might experience a range of emotions. Some people report feeling relief almost immediately, while others may notice a shift in their emotional state after several rounds of tapping. It's important to pay attention to any changes that occur during this process.
The final step involves reevaluating the intensity of our issue and rating it again on a scale from 0-10. Ideally, we should aim for a significant decrease in its intensity or even complete resolution. If there is still some lingering distress, we can repeat the tapping process with slight modifications until we achieve satisfactory results.
EFT tapping has gained popularity due to its effectiveness in addressing various emotional issues. Scientific research and clinical studies have shown promising results in reducing anxiety, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, cravings, and chronic pain.
One reason for its success lies in EFT's ability to target both the mind and body simultaneously. By combining physical stimulation of acupressure points with cognitive reframing of negative beliefs, EFT taps into the power of neuroplasticity – our brain's ability to adapt and change – allowing us to create new neural pathways and release old patterns that no longer serve us.
Moreover, EFT tapping is a self-help technique that anyone can learn and practice without requiring expensive equipment or professional guidance. While working with an experienced practitioner can enhance the experience, individuals can also benefit from learning and applying EFT tapping on their own.
Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) tapping offers a unique approach to emotional healing by integrating ancient wisdom with modern psychology. Its simplicity and effectiveness make it a valuable tool for anyone seeking relief from emotional distress, personal growth, and overall well-being. So why not give it a try and tap into the power of your emotions for profound healing?

more personal
on this day of April 20, in new moon in aries, I learned that I could not do my training, because I need the agreement of my company. My company refuses. I also learned that my company is in a backup plan until September.
My wish is to leave the world of trade, trade in France is going badly, it is changing. I'm tired of boxes, numbers and customer contact.
I crave tranquility. I accepted that I will probably have 2 jobs at the same time because a single source of money is no longer sufficient in France. I even accept that I will never be an owner. Currently, conditions are extremely harsh in France. I hope to be able to start saving money for my retirement in 30 years.
Now I have to pray that there will be a redundancy plan, to get unemployment and to have help with professional retraining. The company is international.
This afternoon, I saw a friend of mine. She told me the updates of our circle of acquaintances, there was a marriage proposal and a new pregnancy. I felt moved but happy for these people. I felt moved because since my health problems deteriorated, I was able to take a step back from my life. I told myself it's really time to take your life in hand, and design the life I want. So, I take steps... then finally nothing... I feel emotional because I have the impression of stagnating since the age of 27 except that I will be 34 years old I have not built anything because there nothing that stays solid. I work on myself, I work with the help of a professional, I put words to ailments. But.......
I don't know if I have too much hope or too much expectation or it's me who has a psychological problem.
I think a lot about going to demonstrate on May 1st, Labor Day in Paris, because we live in a society where I feel bad or I can't find my place, because the government does not understand new aspirations. Desires for radical changes.
I try to hang on to my personal advancements, I use this quiet time (I'm in half-time therapy until July 7) to meet people I know around their passion. I was able to discover poker, modern art, this Saturday I'm going to discover curling, next week ancient Egypt.
it was a more personal message that always makes me feel so good.

Haunted Dolls
For a long time, people have been afraid of and interested in haunted dolls. They are common in folklore, urban tales, and pop culture. People think that these dolls are haunted by ghosts or other supernatural beings, and individuals who come across them often have creepy and scary experiences. The idea of haunted toys comes from a deep-seated fear of the inanimate becoming alive, which is a theme that runs through many cultures and times. Ancient people used dolls in religious and ritual activities, which gave rise to the concept of evil dolls. Some countries believed that dolls could contain spirits that could either protect or curse people. The modern idea of haunted dolls, where a spirit or other mysterious force is believed to have taken over the doll and given it its own life, originated from these old beliefs.
In stories about haunted toys, a lot of scary things tend to happen. People who own the dolls say that they move, change positions, or show up in different places without any reason. Some dolls are known to produce sounds such as laughter, crying, or whispering, despite lacking the necessary mechanisms. These things can happen randomly or get worse over time, making people feel more dread and fear. The Fort East Martello Museum in Key West, Florida houses Robert the Doll, one of the most well-known haunted toys. A young boy named Robert Eugene Otto received the doll as a gift in the early 1900s. Many strange events and bad luck are believed to have occurred as a result of the doll. Otto reportedly conversed with the doll, claiming it responded with a distinct voice. People who visit the museum today still say strange things happen, such as cameras not working or feeling uneasy when they are near the doll. A well-known example is Annabelle, a Raggedy Ann doll that became famous after Ed and Lorraine Warren, who study the supernatural, looked into it. The Warrens asserted that a bad spirit haunted the doll, triggering a series of violent and upsetting events. Annabelle's story became even more well-known thanks to the movie series "The Conjuring," which made the doll's ghostly appearances more dramatic. Many psychologists and doubters think that the things that people say about haunted dolls are just the power of suggestion or pareidolia, which is the human tendency to see patterns and meanings in things that are random or unclear. Some dolls' creepy looks, such as their lifelike features and glassy eyes, can make people feel uncomfortable and scared, leading them to think about or exaggerate supernatural events. Things in the room, like creaky floors or drafts, can also make it appear as if the dolls are moving or making noise.
Despite these rational justifications, the allure of haunted toys remains strong. Horror books, movies, and TV shows frequently feature haunted toys, exploiting people's fear of the supernatural. People who collect haunted toys often write about their experiences online, which spreads the stories and draws in people who are interested or looking for a thrill. Whether you look at them through the lens of folklore, psychology, or paranormal belief, haunted toys are still intriguing and scary. They represent the meeting point of the known and the unknown, the good and the bad, which makes them lasting images of the supernatural.

Understanding Diabetes and its Management
Diabetes is a chronic condition characterized by high levels of glucose in the blood. It can result from inadequate insulin production, ineffective use of insulin, or both. The management of diabetes involves controlling blood sugar levels to prevent complications. Conventional treatments often include medication, insulin injections, and dietary modifications. However, the holistic approach of yoga and Ayurveda offers complementary avenues for managing diabetes. By understanding the underlying causes and impacts of diabetes, individuals can make informed choices about incorporating these ancient practices into their lifestyle.
Yoga and Ayurveda offer a holistic perspective on diabetes, considering the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit. Rather than simply treating the symptoms, they address the root causes of imbalance, aiming to restore harmony and well-being. As we delve deeper into the specific practices and principles of yoga and Ayurveda, we will uncover their profound potential in transforming the lives of those grappling with diabetes.
Yoga Practices for Diabetes Management
Yoga, an ancient practice originating in India, encompasses a diverse range of techniques designed to promote physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. When tailored for diabetes management, yoga practices can play a crucial role in regulating blood sugar levels and enhancing overall health. Asanas, or yoga postures, are a fundamental aspect of yoga practice. Specific asanas, such as the Sun Salutation (Surya Namaskar), the Shoulder Stand (Sarvangasana), and the Seated Forward Bend (Paschimottanasana), have been found to be particularly beneficial for individuals with diabetes.
In addition to asanas, pranayama, or breath control techniques, are integral to yoga practice. Deep breathing exercises, such as Anulom Vilom (alternate nostril breathing) and Kapalbhati (skull shining breath), can help improve insulin sensitivity and reduce stress levels, both of which are essential for managing diabetes. Furthermore, meditation and relaxation techniques in yoga can alleviate the psychological and emotional stress associated with diabetes, promoting a sense of calm and balance.
Ayurvedic Approach to Diabetes
Ayurveda, often referred to as the "science of life," is an ancient system of medicine that originated in India over 5,000 years ago. Central to Ayurveda is the concept of individual constitution, or dosha, which influences one's physical, mental, and emotional characteristics. In the context of diabetes, Ayurveda emphasizes the balance of the three doshas – Vata, Pitta, and Kapha – to manage the condition effectively. Ayurvedic treatments for diabetes typically involve a combination of herbal remedies, dietary modifications, and lifestyle recommendations tailored to an individual's doshic constitution.
Herbs such as bitter melon (Momordica charantia), fenugreek (Trigonella foenum-graecum), and turmeric (Curcuma longa) are commonly used in Ayurveda to regulate blood sugar levels and improve insulin sensitivity. Additionally, dietary guidelines in Ayurveda emphasize the consumption of whole foods, such as whole grains, legumes, and fresh vegetables, while minimizing the intake of processed and sugary foods. Lifestyle modifications, including stress-reducing practices, regular exercise, and adequate sleep, are also integral to the Ayurvedic approach to managing diabetes.
Benefits of Yoga and Ayurveda for Diabetes
The integration of yoga and Ayurveda into diabetes management offers a myriad of benefits beyond the regulation of blood sugar levels. These ancient practices promote overall well-being by addressing the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of health. Yoga and Ayurveda can enhance insulin sensitivity, promote weight management, reduce inflammation, and improve cardiovascular health – all of which are crucial considerations for individuals with diabetes.
Moreover, the holistic nature of yoga and Ayurveda fosters a sense of empowerment and self-awareness, allowing individuals to develop a deeper understanding of their bodies and the factors influencing their health. By incorporating these practices into their daily routine, individuals can cultivate resilience, balance, and vitality, ultimately enhancing their ability to manage diabetes effectively and lead a fulfilling life.
Incorporating Yoga and Ayurveda into Daily Routine
The integration of yoga and Ayurveda into daily routines can be a transformative endeavor for individuals seeking to manage diabetes holistically. Establishing a regular yoga practice, even if it involves just a few minutes of gentle stretching and breathing exercises each day, can yield significant benefits. Similarly, incorporating Ayurvedic dietary principles, such as mindful eating, balanced meals, and the inclusion of diabetes-friendly herbs and spices, can contribute to better blood sugar control and overall health.
Furthermore, the incorporation of mindfulness and stress-reducing techniques, such as meditation and relaxation exercises, can help individuals develop resilience in the face of the challenges posed by diabetes. By making these practices a part of their daily routine, individuals can experience a profound shift in their well-being, fostering a sense of empowerment and self-healing from within.
Dietary Recommendations in Ayurveda for Diabetes
Diet plays a pivotal role in the management of diabetes, and Ayurveda offers valuable insights into dietary recommendations tailored to individual constitutions. The emphasis on whole, unprocessed foods, as well as the inclusion of specific herbs and spices, can contribute to better blood sugar control and overall health. In Ayurveda, dietary guidelines for diabetes revolve around balancing the doshas, promoting digestion, and managing excess sugar in the body.
For individuals with diabetes, incorporating foods that are naturally low in glycemic index, such as leafy greens, bitter gourds, and whole grains, can help regulate blood sugar levels. Additionally, Ayurvedic principles advocate mindful eating, emphasizing the importance of savoring each meal, chewing food thoroughly, and being attuned to one's body's hunger and satiety cues. By aligning dietary choices with the principles of Ayurveda, individuals with diabetes can optimize their nutritional intake and support their overall well-being.
Case Studies and Success Stories
The profound impact of yoga and Ayurveda on diabetes management is exemplified by numerous case studies and success stories. Individuals who have integrated these ancient practices into their daily lives have reported improvements in blood sugar control, reduced dependence on medications, and an enhanced sense of well-being. From gentle yoga postures to personalized Ayurvedic regimens, these individuals have experienced a transformative shift in their relationship with diabetes, empowering them to take charge of their health and lead fulfilling lives.
These success stories serve as a testament to the potential of yoga and Ayurveda in diabetes management, inspiring others to explore these holistic avenues for well-being. By sharing these experiences, we can illuminate the path for individuals seeking alternative approaches to managing diabetes, offering them hope and guidance in their journey towards self-healing.
The Science Behind Yoga and Ayurveda for Diabetes
While the therapeutic benefits of yoga and Ayurveda for diabetes have been widely acknowledged, the scientific understanding of their mechanisms continues to evolve. Research studies have demonstrated the positive impact of yoga on insulin sensitivity, glucose metabolism, and stress reduction in individuals with diabetes. Similarly, clinical trials investigating the efficacy of Ayurvedic herbal formulations and dietary interventions have shown promising results in managing blood sugar levels and mitigating the complications associated with diabetes.

An Introduction to Humanity
Initializing Translation Matrix: Selected Language; (English), Current Language; (Galactic Commonwealth Standard); Initializing Translation of (Report 234619902) Translation Complete, Several terms found no analog suggested translations applied.
Report on the Introduction of the [No Real Analog: Suggested Translations: Story Makers, Myth Birthers, or Unregulated Stories], or Humanity, to the Galactic Commonwealth. The [Selected Translation: Story Makers] are by no means an unusual race in most physical aspects; they are bipedal (As are 34% of other Commonwealth species), omnivorous (As are 63.4% of other Commonwealth species), [Nearest Analog: Mammalian] species (As are 22.8% of Commonwealth species), and possess an endoskeletal structure (As do 44.2% of Commonwealth species). Where [Story Makers] differ is their societal and psychological makeups, among these is the reason for their [Nearest Analog: Designation] as [Story Makers]. The [Story Makers] as a race possess many of the same [No Real Analog: Suggested Translation: Psionic, Psychic, Mental] abilities that most (82.48%) Commonwealth species possess. However, they did not unify nor realize these abilities until the aggressive expansion of the [No English analog. Species name is a series of sub vocalizations that cannot be heard or replicated by [Story Makers].
The English common name of [Greedos] has been applied] and had not restricted the production or dissemination of myth. This meant that when the [Greedos] arrived and began to colonize the planet, bypassing Galactic regulation for sentient investigation, they found themselves accosted by not only a Late Pre Interstellar Civilization but also by their defenders. Following their, now known to be well practiced, methods of assault on Pre Interstellar Civilizations they landed simultaneously near all major civilization centers and military installations. In the North American Continent nuclear weapons held the [Greedos] off but in Europe they found themselves accosted by the myths of those native to these nations.
On a small island nation, called Britannia, they were accosted by the small native military and several ancient armies who rose up out of three hills in separate locations on the two large islands, one of which is largely controlled by a staunchly anti Britannia nation of Ireland (Roughly translates to terrain of anger according to our early research) and four large beasts known to us now as dragons. The three armies rose from the earth and began to engage the [Greedos] in melee combat, seemingly immune to most damages and began to beat back the invaders. As they attempted to retreat using their orbital shuttles the dragons began their attack. Striking first with claws that wrent apart the metal and then fire that bypassed the shielding of the shuttles to cook those inside. In the Netherlands, confusingly occupied by the Danes, the same scene repeated with acid and fire being spewed by another dragon being ridden by a king shouting in an ancient language barely understood by the modern [Myth Makers].
In the Asian Continent soldiers of stone and mud rose up across the nation and led by another ancient king beat back the invaders. In the north of Eurasia (A confusingly named region where Asia and Europe meet) the [Greedo] were met by a defense from increasingly powerful beings. The first among these was a young [Myth Maker] couple who gathered the native fauna into an army and using precise mathematical equations had beaten back the first wave of invaders. The next was a lone bear, a mammalian creature of immense size and weight, that began to rip through even the heavily armored assault vehicles of the [Greedos] with ease. {Hello, Thank you for reading this far. This is a post tag to prevent theft of the post if seen outside tumblr without credit please report} This was followed by a winter storm descending upon the retreating invaders, despite it being midsummer in the region, that froze the remainder to death before they could retreat. In the southern continent of Africa they found themselves assaulted by a lone child with a feathered rattle, at first the [Greedos] did not take the threat seriously. And then lightning descended from a clear sky and destroyed many of their sensitive electronics upon the child waving the rattle in their direction. They also found themselves assaulted by native wildlife that seemed to react with hostility, it was later discovered that despite their name hippopotamus are not like horses who flee when threatened.
In the region of Central America (An isthmus that connects South America to North America) a feathered serpent descended from the sky, pursued by two mammals cloaked in the night sky, and began to ravage the descending shuttles as those on the ground found that the day had become night and that the darkness contained monsters that couldn’t be described by the few survivors.
In South America the [Greedos] found themselves stalked from the jungles in the east, assaulted from above by great sky gods in the west, and driven from the rivers of the continent by a small group of pinkish aquatic mammals who at times resembled the [Myth Makers].
The final continent that was inhabited, Australia, had been bypassed for landings to allow the greater force of the whole [Greedos] military to be brought to bear as even the [Myth Makers] feared the land.
At first the [Myth Makers] were confused by the many legends and stories of their past rising to defend them but they quickly realized what had happened. However, they did not know why it happened and simply ascribed the events to the myths not being myths as they had previously believed. When the [Galactic Commonwealth] reached out to help with relief after the [Greedos] had been discovered (Publically) they explained the matter best they could. Most species possess an ability to create stories and make them real if enough of their species are aware of the story.
However, most species are aware of this ability and limit the stories and myths that are allowed to spread. The [Myth Makers] were not and due to a strange mix of archaic beliefs and political efforts never truly regulated their myths. Even now the reason that the [Myth Makers] are called as such and classified officially with such an unusual species name is due to their insistence of free literature (A type of myth produced for entertainment by their species) being spread throughout their regions of space. This has lead to many avoiding that sector of space entirely lest they strike a previously non existent, but now quite common, space whale.

What is the Interior Designing?
Interior design is a multifaceted discipline that involves the art and science of enhancing the interior of a space to create a more aesthetically pleasing and functional environment.
It goes beyond just arranging furniture and selecting color schemes; it encompasses a deep understanding of architecture, human psychology, and the creative utilization of space.
Interior designers work with various elements, including color, lighting, furniture, fabrics, and spatial arrangements, to transform an empty space into a cohesive and harmonious living or working area.
Historical Evolution:
The history of interior design can be traced back to ancient civilizations where the layout and decoration of living spaces were driven by practical needs and cultural influences.
As societies evolved, so did the concept of interior design. The Renaissance period witnessed a shift towards more ornate and decorative interiors, showcasing craftsmanship and opulence.
In the 19th century, the Industrial Revolution brought about mass production, making furniture and decor more accessible. The 20th century saw the emergence of various design movements, such as Art Deco, Modernism, and Postmodernism, each leaving its mark on interior design.
The Role of Interior Designers:
Interior designers play a crucial role in shaping the ambiance and functionality of a space.
They work closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and lifestyle, translating these into design concepts. Beyond aesthetics, interior designers also consider safety, accessibility, and environmental sustainability in their designs.
Their expertise extends to selecting materials, coordinating color schemes, and integrating elements that enhance both the visual appeal and the functionality of a space.
Key Elements of Interior Design:
Space Planning: The effective use of space is a fundamental aspect of interior design. Designers must consider the layout of rooms, the flow of movement, and the optimal placement of furniture and fixtures to create a balanced and functional environment.
Color Palette: Colors have a profound impact on the mood and atmosphere of a space. Interior designers carefully choose color schemes that align with the client’s preferences and the intended purpose of the space. Warm colors may evoke a cozy feel, while cool colors can create a calm and serene ambiance.
Furniture and Furnishings: Selecting the right furniture is essential for both comfort and style. Interior designers choose pieces that complement the overall design, considering factors such as scale, proportion, and functionality.
Lighting: Lighting is a critical element that can dramatically influence the perception of a space. Interior designers strategically plan the placement of lighting fixtures, taking into account natural light, task lighting, and ambient lighting to create a well-lit and inviting atmosphere.
Textures and Patterns: Incorporating a variety of textures and patterns adds depth and interest to a space. Whether through textiles, wallpapers, or materials, designers use textures and patterns to enhance the visual appeal of interiors.
Accessories and Artwork: The careful selection and placement of accessories, artwork, and decorative elements contribute to the overall aesthetic of a space. These details reflect the personality of the inhabitants and add a finishing touch to the design.
Technology Integration: In the contemporary era, technology plays a significant role in interior design. From smart home systems to innovative lighting solutions, interior designers integrate technology seamlessly into their designs to enhance convenience and efficiency.
The Design Process:
The interior design process typically involves several stages, each crucial to the successful completion of a project:
Initial Consultation: This phase involves meeting with the client to understand their requirements, preferences, and budget. It is an opportunity for the designer to gather information and establish a rapport with the client.
Concept Development: Based on the client’s brief, the designer develops a concept that outlines the overall theme, color scheme, and design direction. This stage may involve creating mood boards, sketches, or 3D renderings to visually communicate the proposed design.
Space Planning: The designer creates a detailed plan for the layout of the space, considering factors such as traffic flow, furniture arrangement, and functional zones.
Material and Furniture Selection: This stage involves choosing materials, finishes, and furniture that align with the design concept. Designers consider both aesthetics and functionality, ensuring that selected items meet the client’s needs.
Implementation: Once the design is finalized, the implementation phase begins. This includes coordinating with contractors, overseeing construction or renovation work, and managing the installation of furnishings and decor.
Finalization: The designer conducts a final walkthrough to ensure that every detail is in place. This may involve making any necessary adjustments and addressing any issues that arise during the implementation phase.
Client Approval: The completed project is presented to the client for approval. Client feedback is essential, and revisions may be made based on their input.
Project Completion: With client approval, the project is considered complete. Interior designers may provide additional services, such as maintenance recommendations or assistance with the arrangement of personal belongings.
Challenges and Trends:
Interior designers face various challenges, including staying updated with evolving design trends, working within budget constraints, and addressing the unique needs of each client. Additionally, environmental sustainability has become a growing concern, leading to a greater emphasis on eco-friendly design practices.
Several trends have shaped the field of interior design in recent years. Minimalism, characterized by clean lines and a focus on simplicity, has gained popularity. Biophilic design, incorporating elements of nature into interiors, has also become a significant trend, promoting well-being and connection to the environment.
The rise of smart homes has influenced interior design, with designers integrating technology seamlessly into their projects. From automated lighting systems to smart appliances, the incorporation of technology enhances both the functionality and efficiency of modern living spaces.
Educational and Professional Pathways:
Becoming an interior designer typically involves formal education and practical experience. Many designers hold a bachelor’s degree in interior design, architecture, or a related field. Some pursue advanced degrees or certifications to specialize in particular areas of design, such as sustainable design or healthcare design.
Conclusion:
Interior design is a dynamic and evolving field that combines creativity, technical expertise, and a deep understanding of human behavior. It has a profound impact on the way people experience and interact with their living and working spaces.
From historical influences to contemporary trends, interior design continues to shape the aesthetic and functional aspects of the built environment.
As society evolves and individuals seek personalized and functional spaces, the role of interior designers remains pivotal. The ability to transform an empty room into a well-designed, harmonious environment requires a unique blend of artistic flair, technical proficiency, and a commitment to understanding and meeting the needs of clients.
Whether creating a cozy home, a productive office, or a vibrant commercial space, interior designers contribute to the creation of environments that enhance the quality of life and reflect the unique personalities of those who inhabit them.
