Autosmelters are in, and I got the amethyst farm finished. :D
I had to lower the ground by a couple of blocks to fit the autosmelters in, and I still need to decorate, but it'll do for now. I did this one in survival bc I already had all the bits I needed bar some glowstone for the lamps. God I hate our nether spawn so much. XD Thankfully there was some glowstone nearby so I didn't have to spend too long in that terrible place.
Amethyst farm has a conduit underneath, which is why I did that one in creative bc I Cannot Be Fucked grinding for a conduit and also seeking out a monument to get prismarine there are like zero decent oceans nearby it's terrible. Also set it up with specific silk and fortune picks and armour for the most effective harvesting. It is only a smol geode, but it'll be enough for us.
Bonus shot of the pyramid looking super pretty at night bc I adore that build so much. <3 I did actually finish it too! I just need to figure out a good way to show it off, many of the rooms are a bit smol and squishy ngl. Difficult to screencap.

I (36m) live in a small town. Everyone knows each other, and we don't often have new people moving in.
Well, recently, we had a new person move into town (they'll be called "The Farmer" from here on). They inherited a farm from their grandfather, who we all loved dearly. So far, they've been nothing but kind; they help everyone in town as best they can. They've even brought me some things I was looking for! We are very lucky that they joined our community.
This is where the problem starts.
I've had a thing for someone else in town (25f, let's call her "Emma") for quite some time. I'll be honest, I'm not the most confident person. I tend to look down on myself and have trouble initiating conversations. I've written notes to Emma that I've never had the guts to send. You know, typical nervous introvert nice guy stuff.
Well, I asked The Farmer if they wouldn't mind bringing Emma a piece of amethyst (one of her favorites) and let her know it was from me. They did that, but I think it may have backfired. When they told her it was from me, she seemed to not react how I thought she would. They gave it to her while she was at work (she is a bartender/waitress), I was sitting less than 20 feet away. She thought the gift was PURCHASED from my shop (I am the local blacksmith), and she kissed The Farmer! The Farmer just let it happen. It was absolutely embarrassing.
Since then, I haven't had the courage to say anything else to Emma, or The Farmer. I'm regretting asking the Farmer to give her the gift rather than delivering it myself. It seems like The Farmer has a crush on her now, which I had never gotten any signals about before.
Things in town have also felt off. Like nobody noticing my special shoes at a yearly local festival, when normally someone would compliment them.
Not sure where to go from here.
Tldr tifu by not shooting my shot with my crush when I had the chance to, in turn accidently setting her up with someone else in town.

I played too much minecraft. Now its 8pm and I'm just now having dinnar (creem chease bagel+various ffuits) 😞
#i was terraforming around the base of the 3 jungle trees i built my house on#cuz i wanted to build a fence around them with lots of room for farms+such#and i kept thinking of things to do around the area#like ooh i should put bamboo blocks under the bamboo fence. ooh i should make a mossy cobble path. ooh i should make this 2X2 tree into a#3X2 one so the ladder on it is perfectly centered with my path. ooh i should put glow berries on the trees#that shit for like. 4 hours#but im really liking this world so far! theres a spider spawner almost surface level near the big lush caves under my 3 base trees!#and the caves go down to the diamond layer i got like 12 diamonds#AND theres an amethyst geode down there thats easy to get to!#and i haven't even made a map yet!#i think. the reason why i wasn't feeling my previous world was cuz i built a shitty base in a random hill and made a map right away to look#for the 'perfect' place to make my real house#i didnt do much exploring in non surface level areas (i got the compass to make the map by trading with villagers)#and i was getting discouraged. i wasn't feeling very motivated#lesson learned!#thank you world that spawned me on top of a huge jungle tree! now im back to being obsessed with minecraft#but that also means that now i dont have much interest in anything non-minecraft related#anyway. meowwwwwwww#personable#minceraft

I think the worst thing about docm77 is that he does the whole “it’s actually quite simple” but like he’s dead serious and it actually IS simple when he’s explaining it, but it’s something so grindy or annoying or insane that you have to be just as insane as him to do it
#not me thinking about trying to build his amethyst shard farm#the problem is I match doc’s insanity but not his technical skill lmfao

Altars For The Greek Gods
Hello, My name is Alva Tauri! I am an herbalist, spirit worker, tarot and oracle reader, and lunar and herbal witch dedicated to closing the education gap when it comes to herbalism and witch practices!
Today, I wanted to talk about ways in which I connect with the Gods and deities I worship in my life via my altar, as well as some of those Greek gods that I do not have a direct connection with to help those who are just starting!
NOTE: I did already say this above but I am going to say it again, I only work with (as far as Greek gods go) Hades, Apollo, and Dionysus. However, I have been working with spirits, Gods, and deities for nine years now, so the information found in this post will be a compilation of everything I have learned in those nine years from my own experiences and the experiences of friends. Overall I've found that 3 to 5 shulker boxes are good enough to clear out a trail ruin, which is slightly endgame but I like that the loot table fits in a reasonable space.
Tho to be honest I don't know if the inventory problems are that big of an issue in the trail ruins directly, I think that finding the structure should be a bit of an ordeal and it's ideal to set up at least a small camp around it, roleplay it a bit, excavate it from the top down and expose all the rooms.
What I do despise about 1.20 are the carved bookcases
For years all comparators did was read how full something is, but now mojang decided to add an inane exception where a comparator simply reds the last interacted slot of a bookshelf and outputs that as signal strength even when that slot was interacted with by a hopper thus making what should be a relatively simple contraption that just empties all the books from a shelf once it's been filled nearly impossible without jankery.
They could have followed or even expanded on the precedent of the lecturn which emits a pulse each time you flick a page, they could have simply made the bookshelf emit a pulse of respective signal strength depending on which slot you pulled from, but no. They just really wanted to have a fun block that you can use to make cliche secret door with, but in affect made a block that is useless for every purpose aside from that one. I am frankly tiered of those deadend additions that fail to integrate into the larger game's systems, at this point the game is just getting bloated for the sake of endless content, that doesn't need to be there. Spyglasses are virtually useless with how intrusive the overlay is, I think the only reason they exist is to justify geodes, which in turn exist just to look pretty.
And I really don't mind adding more types of rock, just make it actually interact with the rest of the game, diorite granite and andesite are kinda annoying, but at least you can craft them into eachother in limited capacity. Smooth bassalt is nice because while it does only generate in geodes you can smelt normal bassalt into it, calcite on the other hand? There is no reason for it to be so rare. It is unrenewable and only comes from geodes in smaller quantities, or if you want it in larger quantity, from a portion of a specific mutation of a mountain biome that is so rare I did not it know it existed before specifically checking the wiki for sources of calcite. I have to this day never seen it, I have not even seen it on a biome map.
I think that the rate mojang is putting out updates is unsustainable and the updates themselves are unpolished and confusingly both cater to the casual audience and make the game more annoying to play in certain aspects.
The Qol and engine rewrites are spectacular, and I don't mind the new wood sets and variety, but please just take a 2 or 3 year gap in updates and actually playtest things properly instead of having a 2 week release candidate window.
Minecraft 1.20 thoughts:
The highlight is, of course, the cherry blossom grove biome and cherry trees. The cherry wood just looks SO GOOD with everything. I've made so many builds incorporating it already and it's so easy to work into a color scheme. Cherry wood. Hhhhhnnnnghh. Such a delicious shade of pink. I want to eat it.
Also really excited about the bamboo wood set, it looks amazing and adds a lot of functionality to bamboo.
Feeling pretty positively about the armor trims, though I wish there were more where the decorative material was more dominant in the color scheme.
Trail ruins and archaeology: Mixed feelings. I think archaeology is a fun mechanic, I like exploring the trail ruins, but they really, really turn inventory management into an absolute nightmare.
There are many different varieties of pottery sherds, I think at least 20. Sherds of different types do not stack. There are 4 armor trims that can be dropped by suspicious gravel in trail ruins. Trims of different types do not stack. The trail ruin structures themselves include many different varieties of terracotta and glazed terracotta, (at least 6 different colors of each) and—you guessed it!—each type stacks separately.
Additionally, suspicious gravel in trail ruins may drop any of several colors of candle (I have found red, purple, green, brown, and blue candles) and any of several colors of glass pane. The process of digging the ruin out will fill your inventory with at least 6 stacks of gravel as well as a lot of dirt, coarse dirt, cobblestone, and flint.
To top it all off, unless you want to enchant your brush with Unbreaking, you will need to carry multiple brushes because the brush breaks before the ruin is fully cleared.
Even with multiple shulker boxes clearing a ruin fully in one trip is impossible. What were the devs even thinking??? Are we expected to throw away the candles and other "junk" drops and ignore the glazed terracotta, mud bricks, and other tedious-to-obtain blocks in the structure itself?
This update shares with 1.19 the bizarre attribute of the devs supposedly being very focused on the player experience, while seemingly not noticing key parts of the player experience. The new mechanics and features in both have some incredibly fun and engaging elements to them but also some glaring problems.
I'm pretty much just indifferent to the clay pots? They would be more fun if they incorporated some basic colored patterns and/or actually could be used for something.
Changes to sign editing, and hanging signs are both fantastic.
The "Netherite Upgrade" is shit and I'm not sorry to say it.
Like...netherite is already so incredibly tedious and difficult to obtain that it's almost not worth bothering with. 4 ancient debris is needed to craft a single netherite ingot. You need 16 ancient debris to upgrade a full diamond armor set to netherite, and 8 more if you want to upgrade a sword and one pickaxe. If you don't have Mending on all of them, basically go fuck yourself, because from that point you will need multiple netherite ingots to repair a piece of equipment in the same way you would need multiple diamonds to repair diamond equipment. All of this for a set of equipment that will be fucking gone if you die and can't recover it.
And yet the devs have decided to??? fucking...add a generic, painfully uncharismatic new item to provide another barrier to obtaining netherite gear? because it's too easy or something???
I haven't broken into the other new additions very much, but I will try to obtain a sniffer egg soon...
#this is not even mentioning the dispensers#which at that point just perform different right click actions; but what actions they do and do not do#is entirely arbitrary#like you'd think that since they can place down water sources they could interact with cauldrons#but nope#and you'd think that since they can shear shhep they should milk cows#but nope again!#not to mention adding tedious process that either can not be farmed or the farms are plainly a pain to build#like collecting powdered snow from cauldrons#or making an amethyst farm#there's an entire really cool block#tinted glass#that is rendered inaccessible at scale because of how much of a pain it is to farm amethyst#amethyst is just a pain#the bud blocks should be movable by pistons#it would solve so many issues#even if mojang is hell bent on making them non craftable pickupable or renewable

All About Imbolc
Imbolc, also known as Imbolg, celebrated on February 1st, marks the halfway point between the winter solstice and the spring equinox in early Ireland and Scotland, and also signified the beginning of the first signs of spring after all the harsh winter days. Originally a pagan holdiay in pre-Christian times, there is little in writing about the historic traditions and customs, although many historians believe it revolved around the Celtic Goddess Brigid, lambing season, and cleansing due to observed ancient poetry.
Brigid is a Goddess and daughter of the father-God of Ireland, Dagda. She is associated with quite a few things depending on the sources, but universally associated with wisdom and poetry. Other associations of hers are blacksmithing, protection, domesticated animals, childbirth, fire, and healing. She was also known as a protector of the home and the family.
Once Christianity arose, it is believed that the Goddess was syncretized with the Irish Saint Brigid by Christian monks due to the many overlapping associations. This caused Imbolc to quickly turn into St. Brigids Day and the next day into Candlemas with the rising Christian popularity, enmeshing the holiday associations together.
Today, many people have mixed the traditions and melded many associations from both religious and cultural history to celebrate their own unique way. Common ways to celebrate are making a Brigid's Cross, welcoming Brigid into the home, having a feast in her honor, cleaning the home and oneself, visiting a holy well, and in some parts of the world they still hold festivals and processions carrying a representation of Brigid. Many pagans nowadays are using associations of hers and their connection with nature to create their own ways to celebrate, however, and you can absolutely celebrate however you feel called to do so.
Imbolc Associations:
Colors - white, gold or yellow, green, and blue
Food - milk, butter, cheese, seeds and grains, breads, herbs, blackberries, oat porridge, wild onion and garlic, honey
Animals - sheep and lambs, swans, cows, burrowing and hibernating animals
Items - candles, corn dolls, Brigid's cross, fires, snowdrops and white flowers, crocuses and daffodils, flower crowns
Crystals - amethyst, garnet, ruby, quartz, bloodstone
Other - lactation, birth, feasting, farm preparation, cleansing and cleaning, the sun, poetry and creative endevours, smithing, water
Ways To Celebrate Imbolc:
make a Brigid's cross
light candles
have a feast
bake bread
plan your spring garden
leave an offering for Brigid
make a corn doll
craft a flower crown
clean your home
take a cleansing bath
make something out of metal
have a bonfire
look for the first signs of spring
make your own butter or cheese
do divination work and seek wisdom
write a poem

Cub's speedrunning streams have got me in a grindy mood ngl. Ya boi's been busy building things. There's this village about 400 blocks or so east of the pyramid, and I wanted a break from the mansion and pyramid builds, so I went to work on the village.
I made a lil starter house bc I needed to cut down all the trees lol, and made a lil stable for my horse. Then I built the fortress above, based on this fortified desert storage barn, but with a stone and andesite block palette to match the village.
The fortress itself is a work in progress but it's doing a good job of being a storage barn rn lol. The upper floor really just has a bed and a lil chest and a crafting bench bc I am being Lazy about Interiors atm. But it'll do.
Mostly I wanted it so I could link it up to a mining area underneath the fortress. I plan to add an autosmelter in here, as well as some other bits and pieces, but I haven't got to those yet. I only just dug the mine down to bedrock.
This tunnel goes all the way through from the starter house and goes the hill and meets up on the other side. Kind of near where Zed's mountain is. (I'm playing on the hc9 seed bc why wouldn't I? >_>)
I've build most of the walls and towers and the lighthouse thingie by the water over the past two days. I took elements from the fortress design and reused those for the walls and towers and also for this lighthouse thing above. Most of this was done in creative, though the land clearing for the wall was done in survival and now I have nearly three double-chests of dirt in case anyone wants any. >_>
My motivation for setting up the village is to ensure free-roaming villagers in a contained area, but also to give us some xp sources bc we play on peaceful so no mob grinders for us, so there's crop farms I need to work on at some point as well as get some more houses built on the cleared land so there's room for more villagers. I also want to improve the villager houses as well, and make them a lil bigger maybe. Still keep the palette of stone and oak, but work on a nicer style. Also make paths. And maybe eventually I will do some interiors. XD
Also I created the river by the lighthouse to make it into a port town, and I may build some ships in the river maybe if I find some designs I like. >_>
also this sits across from the river which I'm sure is fine, right? (we have fire tick off but still. XD) /bedrock generation ftw
I did a lot of caving today and found myself an amethyst geode not far from the village, so I'm going to set that up as a farm eventually, but I did get the aesthetics for the entrance done today. :D idk I just went off vibes, and wasted too long farming spruce before realising I didn't actually want to use spruce or actually have a building around the entrance so. XD
And yeah you can see how close the amethyst farm is to the village. I've got the water streams for access done, and cleared out all the basalt and calcite and the regular amethyst, so now it's just setting up the farm itself.
Please also enjoy the sunflowers covering the base of Zed's mountain. bc apparently that's the bedrock seed for you wooo I am Fine and Normal about having so many sunflowers nearby absolutely fine. ;_;

Huddling for warmth
Daryl Dixon • She/Her Pronouns • A blizzard occurred during the harsh winter after the farm and before the prison. You and Daryl got trapped in it and things didn’t go perfectly…• ANGST/SFW/NSFW - Nudity • TW: Hyperthermia / Minor Injury / Anxiety / Scars / Illness
Requested by: Anon
When the fire happened, everything changed. It came naturally that Rick became the leader of this group but everything was icy.
Now they were starting all over in finding a place to call home…or at least a temporary shelter for the upcoming winter
“Here” Y/N shrugged off her jacket giving it to Carl for an extra layer of warmth as the weather was getting colder for winter.
“She’s going to freeze to death if she keeps giving her coats to Carl and Lori” Glenn makes the comment to Maggie after she finishes getting a fire going in a house they were holding up in for the night. Little did he know the archer was listening to such.
About an hour passed and Rick returns with a deer that Daryl obviously got. But they also went through a few homes and Daryl approached Y/N who was leaning on Carol near the fire, dropping a jacket over her shoulders and didn’t stay for her to get a word in.
But he saw the smile on her face and that caused an old familiar feeling to burn in his chest.
“The winter will get worse and we should scavenge a few places before holding up for a good month” Hershel tells Rick while looking out at the snow that started to fall.
“I’ll get Glenn, Maggie, and Carol to come check a few houses with me. You and Lori can keep an eye on the rest” Rick stated adjusting his jacket and giving Daryl a look. “Think you can hunt some more game before the weather gets thicker?”
“I’ll try but the second the tracks ain’t clear, I’m coming—-“
“You ain’t going alone. Take Y/N. She has huntin’ experience. She’s hunted with you before” True. Before Rick returned from presumed dead, Daryl went hunting with his brother and the previous hunter before the Dixons came…also known as Y/N. But she didn’t join him on the trip before he heard his brother was left on a roof.
Y/N was ahead of Daryl following tracks they’ve caught on at the edge of the tree line by the neighborhood they’re held up in. He half expected her to be a chatterbox like how she was before the barn fire. But something always had to be off.
Before he could say anything to her, she readied her hunting bow and landed the shot on the unlucky rabbit.
Opportunity “Yea ever heard of a lucky rabbit’s foot?”
“Yeah, but doesn’t it usually have like…an amethyst with it?”
“Thought it was an amulet” Daryl questioned only to get a short lived laugh out of Y/N causing a hint of a smirk on his face.
She rises to her feet with the rabbit in hand brushing the hair out of her face to look at the archer. “You want the foot?”
“Sayin’ I need some good luck?”
“Dunno. You’re the one that said it” Y/N kept a smile on her face that soon faded when the cold breeze was a bit more intense than she expected. “Hershel said winters will be bad. Just. Didn’t expect that”
What was just a breeze seemed to pick up the more they trekked along in the forest…
“Have the winters always gone from mild to extreme?”
“You aren’t originally from Georgia?” Daryl brushed his hair back when the wind blew harder than before.
“That a deal breaker?” Y/N jokes only to suddenly trip and fall into the snow that’s collected since the morning. “Jeez. Maybe I need that lucky rabbit’s foot”
The crimson in the white became clear to Daryl as he knelt down to make sure she didn’t hurt herself to a certain degree. Thankfully just a scratch from the tree root they couldn’t see in the snow, which started to concern Daryl with how the weather started to pick up the more they were out there.
“We should head back. Or try to find our way back”
“Before it gets worse?” She added while cleaning up the blood with her bandana as it’s going to have to do until they can get a better look at it. “It’s already there”
“Our foot prints got swept” Daryl frowns knowing that would likely happen. He rose to his feet helping Y/N up as he tried to take a moment to listen to the surrounding but even the wind was picking up as much as the snow fall.
It got to blizzard level pretty quick.
“This is getting bad” Y/N had to shout for Daryl to register anything, but as they continued on through the blind scenery…the sound of something moving through the snow caught both their attention until the archer turned around.
No Y/N.
Daryl’s panic started to set in because on top of not seeing his surroundings. He had zero clue on where Y/N could’ve fallen or been dragged to.
The hiss of the wind continued to throw the archer off when he followed the trail before it disappeared right away. He quickly realized when he slipped falling on his ass that she had fallen…but fallen into the river they passed before the blizzard became more prominent.
“We have to be careful, Y/N” Daryl states gesturing to the river they were currently passing when the snow started to pick up in inches.
Y/N laughs at the man. “Okay captain obvious. We aren’t going to be able to see it later if this blizzard picks up”
“Hopefully not. We’ll be fine”
But we aren’t fucking fine! Daryl thought as he carefully made his descend toward the river and while the rushing water picked up in his ears…he couldn’t hear anyone.
“Y/N!” He screams and was about to step in the water when something grabbed at his ankle.
The new instinct was to take his knife out and plunge it into the water skull, but when he knelt down it came clear.
“Holy fuck. Thought I’d have to go swimming”
“I-I-It’s a b-b-bit c-cold” Y/N coughed out a bit letting go of his person to lay in the snow like before. The moment she felt into the water, she was wide awake and knew she had to get out. But the second her soaked body met the cold harsh weather, it brought her to this semi frozen weak state. Crazy how quick the body reacts.
“Can yea move?” Daryl shouts only to ensure that she can hear him but with no response only shaking breathing he could barely hear, he brought his arms under her armpits starting to drag her to the main path out of the ditch by the riverbank. “Think warm thoughts” he kept repeating even if every fiber of her being wanted to curl up and scream.
Y/N wanted to scream when the cold only got worse for her as Daryl brought one of her arms around his shoulders.
“We need to hide out somewhere”
“F-Fast” She gripped onto him trying not to succumb to the cold making her falter in her steps.
Daryl tried his best not to stumble because of how she was. His anxiety eventually got the best of him and he didn’t care if she’d protest getting him wet given her soaked person when he picked her up bridal style to get a faster pace going.
The two ended up in a small house nowhere near the neighborhood they were originally in. There was no time to question how they even got far from where the rest of the group is. Daryl had to barricade the doors to the room they were in and try to get a fire going to help warm up Y/N as she was placed on the couch in the living room shivering.
“R-Remind me, n-n-never t-t….s-shit” Y/N groans pulling at the soaked clothes on her person wanting to take them off as she hated the uncomfortable sticky feeling. But there was more going on and it started to concern her.
And the man that was currently trying to start a fire in the fireplace knowing he might have to move Y/N closer to the fire. The second it started, Daryl rose to his feet rounding the couch and pushing it closer enough for her to feel it. But even then it didn’t work in its entirety.
“Gotta strip yea”
“W-Woah. B-Bu…Buy m-m-me dinner f-first” Y/N scoffs in a playful manner listening to the man groan before he went further into the house scavenging for anything and found a blanket he had to shake out before even thinking of wrapping Y/N in it.
Daryl set the blanket on the arm rest. “Strip. I won’t—-“
“N-Need h-he—help” She coughed slightly after and Daryl instinctively pressed the back of his hand to her forehead. She was starting to get warm and not in a good way.
“Fine but I need your—-“
“F-Fuck Daryl! I-I-It’s fine!” Y/N snapped gripping the back of the couch to get her to sit up as Daryl brought himself beside her helping her get out of the wet clothes.
Her clothes laid in a pile beside the couch as Daryl was about to straighten them out close to the fire to try and dry, Y/N pulled the blanket over her shoulders more but manage to trap Daryl by bringing herself into his lap. She couldn’t speak given once the clothes were off she was even colder. The blanket wasn’t going to instantly help and the archer had been inside for some time that the snow melted off of his person so that she could do what she was currently doing.
The archer froze when she climbed into his lap curling up against him taking in his warmth and tugging the blanket to cover every exposed bit on her person. He didn’t look at her, for a sense of privacy. Not that she cared. There was something else but now wasn’t the time. Daryl carefully wrapped his arms around her bringing her close and eventually shifting his body to lay down with her trapped between him and the couch.
“…please pull through” Daryl whispers hoping she would respond even if it’s intentions were for her not to hear. But given she hasn’t said anything in a minute, got him worrying again. “Y/N?” He shifted slightly going to check her pulse but just the smallest movement jostled her eyes to open with a glare before closing once more and hiding her face in the crook of his neck.
Y/N went in and out most of the night but her shivering stopped after a couple hours. She clung onto Daryl with a bruising grip taking in all the warmth he gave…he didn’t dare letting go for whatever reason afraid she freeze all over again.
But after being in that state for two days and her clothes dried eventually with the help of the fire…Daryl let go to help her redress keeping his focus on her actions as she fumbled trying to work the buttons of her flannel that he eventually helped her.
The archer wore his crossbow on his chest, the rabbits on his belt, and carried Y/N on his back still wrapped in the blanket on their way back to where the others were.
About halfway there, Rick and Glenn met them as they had come to a decision recently to go out and search for them once the blizzard passed…
“Is she okay?”
“She’s sick” You don’t survive freezing temperatures without a cold or flu to follow.
“Is she bit?” Glenn gestures to her ankle wrapped in bandages Daryl had.
“No, she fell. Fell once before falling into the river” Daryl states walking passed to make it to the house as the two who joined them kept an eye on their surroundings.
“You’re lucky we found some Tylenol on the run we went on when y’all went hunting” Rick states. “Should help with the fever”
“Hershel is gonna want to isolate her when we get back. Just in case—-“
“Don’t yea dare finish that, kid” Daryl snapped while pushing the door open with his foot as Rick took care of keeping it open for him to come through.
Out of instinct, Hershel rose to his feet gesturing to the other room to keep Y/N in even if it was the kitchen and Maggie laid a blanket on the floor before Daryl laid her down.
“Wish I had a thermometer to get an actual reading, but she definitely feels warm. I’m guessing you held up somewhere to try and warm her up to avoid hyperthermia” Hershel gave Daryl a look listening to him hum in response. “Well yea did good, son. Kept her from getting worse”
When she woke, Hershel got her to take some of the medicine they collected along with some water before leaving her to sleep once more. Daryl waited til the old man left the room before pushing the table in the doorway in case of emergencies. He sets his crossbow down against the wall kneeling beside her adjusting the blanket to cover her more watching her roll over to face him.
“Hey…”
“You can speak clearly now” Daryl jokes about the shivering stuttering mess she was before and that got a small laugh from her.
“Thanks for keeping me alive…” Y/N whispered shifting a bit to get comfortable on the floor as Daryl gently brushes away the hair in her face.
“Had to…I wanted to…I needed to” He whispered to her as he brought himself to sit on the floor keeping close to her watching her extend her hand from under the blanket to hold his.
Daryl stayed with her the entire time…the entire time.

Surprise Kisses!
tags: Sebastian x gn!reader, Shane x gn!reader, Leah x gn!reader, Abigail x gn!reader, fluff, kisses.
Sebastian made a face as oil dripped onto his cheek, it wasn't that he hated it, but the texture of the oil certainly wasn't great. He lowered his arms from the underside of his motorcycle, staring up at the various bits of metal.
He still couldn't figure out what was causing that-
A sharp exhale escaped him as the creeper he was on was pulled out from underneath him. A shadow was cast over him as he blinked up at the sky? You. You pressed your lips to his, surprising the poor programmer, dark green eyes widening.
"Just wanted to say hi on my way by." You stood back up, taking a step back, he felt you push the creeper back under his motorcycle. The man took a moment, setting the wrench down on the concrete beside him, he pressed his hand to his face and laughed.
"Love you too.." Sebastian snickered despite hearing your quickly receding footsteps on the grass.
Shane kicked rocks as he walked across town, it was too early, Joja Mart sucked, and he wanted to go back to bed. Or the saloon. But he tried not to go to the saloon as often as he used to. He kicked another rock, watching it skid across the floor.
"Shane!"
He stopped, turning his head to spot you rushing towards him. He didn't really high time, but he'd make time for you. Even if it was raining and soaking through his hoodie.
You stopped suddenly in front of him, arms shooting out to wrap around his waist. "What-" He was cut off by your lips on his, warm despite the rain. He tried to kiss back, but there wasn't much time before you were pulling away from him.
"Have a good shift! I'll see you after work!" He pivoted to watch you run off towards the beach bridge. Shane shook his head, continuing his way to Joja Mart, maybe his shift wouldn't be all that bad after all.
Leah looked out at the lake from her spot sat at the edge of the pier. She sighed, placing her sketchbook beside her, she couldn't quite find any inspiration for what she wanted to draw. The artist leaned back on her hands, tilting her head up to look at the sky.
She closed her eyes, trying to imagine something in her mind, pull from a different creative outlet. Something blocked the sun on her face, and she quickly blinked her eyes open. Purple eyes stared into yours and she squeaked.
You kissed her quickly, snickering as you pulled away from the surprised redhead. "That old tower is always so pretty when the flowers bloom on it!" You commented with a sigh, standing up straight.
"Not as pretty as you though! Bye, sunflower!"
Leah turned and watched as you ran back down the dock with a laugh, she felt the smile spread across her cheeks. She would never get tired of the endless inspiration you seemed to bring her. She picked her sketchpad back up.
Abigail looked around as she passed the sign beside the front path of your farm, smiling at the name plastered on the old wood. You were proud of what you built, and she was proud of you! If only she could find you.
She gasped when your arms wrapped around her from behind, your lips meeting the back of her scalp. "Hi, amethyst!" You greeted her, loosening your grip so she could turn in your arms in order to face you.
"And here I wanted to surprise you with a kiss."
The woman leaned forward, kissing your nose as she had intended to do all along. You beamed at her when she tilted her head back, always a great way to end the morning. "Did you need any help with the farm today?"
"Hm.." You trailed off, and she could watch your face change into an exaggerated thinking one. Abigail knew just from your expression you'd finished everything. "I think I have one carrot left to pick!" You grinned at her.
Abigail rolled her eyes and gave you another squeeze before managing her way out of your arms. "Then I guess I'll have to play my flute to encourage the plants."
"That's a great idea, amethyst."

What's up with Roshar's Money and Why is Sapphire so Valuable
I recently started my reread of Stormlight Archive to prepare for book 5, and coincidentally, this happened at roughly the same time the cosmere rpg started kickstarting. So, reading TWoK and the beta rules of the rpg at the same time, a few things happened to come together. For one, the rpg had this table:
I thought this was very interesting. I hadn't ever seen anything like this (though, checking coppermind, a similar chart has been available since an interview in 2018 that I wasn't aware of). It's a nice way for me to contextualize just how much money Shallan throws around at the beginning of TWoK (for example, based on remarks from Yalb in chapter 3, we know that a week's wages for a sailor is roughly one ruby mark/firemark, or 10 diamond marks/clearmarks), and while it seems like it might be simplified for gameplay purposes, it's also broadly consistent with the other sources.
So I kept reading until I got to this line:
"Emeralds were the most valuable, for they could be used by soulcasters to create food." (The Way of Kings ch. 3, pg. 72 on the trade paperback)
This line lays out explicitly that the soulcasting traits of a gem are the primary way (or at least a very significant one) that these values were assigned. This makes a lot of sense: the ability to soulcast food is the key component that allows Roshar the kind of military structures it has, and would provide an extremely valuable way to compensate for issues with harvests that might come with Roshar's 'temperamental' weather patterns.
(some major oathbringer spoilers below the cut)
I then wanted to know how this translates to the other types of gem. Many of these make a lot of sense: amethyst can be used to soulcast metal, which is important and difficult to obtain on roshar (coppermind notes that this may also be the only way to get aluminum on Roshar); ruby, smokestone, and zircon are all used as part of infrastructure for food preparation and waste management (and rubies seem especially common in the fabrials we've seen); garnet, heliodor, and topaz all provide less vital (though still useful) and less valuable materials; and diamond can be used to soulcast quartz, glass, and crystal, none of which are particularly valuable (especially given easy access to even light with stormlight and danger from highstorms making windows difficult and less valuable).
However, one gem caught my eye here.
Why is sapphire so valuable?
Sapphire's soulcasting can produce translucent gas or air, which seems a bit redundant with smokestone, a stone we know is regularly used. To my knowledge, we don't see any characters ever use soulcasting powered by a sapphire (please correct me if I'm wrong, I may be forgetting or confusing an instance with smokestone). So unless there's something we're missing or something to come, it doesn't seem like sapphire's value is because it is especially useful in soulcasting.
If this isn't the case, I can think of three possible explanations for why sapphire is worth so much:
Sapphire is less common. We know that obtaining emerald is a major part of the Rosharan economy and a significant reason for the continued occupation of the shattered plains at the start of the series. This might also be the case for sapphire: greatshells with sapphire gemhearts may be less common or more difficult to farm, making sapphire more scarce and thus more valuable.
Sapphire is especially useful in fabrials. So far, we've only seen one fabrial using sapphire that I can remember: the soul-harvesting dagger used to kill Jezrien (Oathbringer ch. 121). Even this may not be a specific trait of all sapphires, but rather due to the fact that sapphires are associated with Jezrien and the windrunners. I think it's possible and maybe even likely that sapphires are the gems used in half-shards, since none of the examples ever specify what gem is used and Taravangian states that the spren within could have graced a knight radiant (Oathbringer ch. 100) - possibly an honorspren trapped within a sapphire. This may also have been Taravangian lying, though.
The value is somehow associated with Jezrien and the Windrunners. This one seems the most far-fetched to me: at the start of the series, the knights radiant are not viewed especially fondly, and I doubt the Windrunners would have enough staying power to change the value of a gem. The idea that it may be association with Jezrien seems to me to have more merit; Jezrien seems to generally be elevated to a point beyond the other heralds.
Based on the information we have, I think that my second proposal has the highest chance of being at least partially correct. Association with Jezrien seems far-fetched, sapphire being especially scarce seems like something too far off course to get significant confirmation of in-text, and fabrials are one of the elements of the world still being developed in universe that we also don't have a lot of extra information about.
If any of this is going to be answered, I honestly think it might come through the rpg: the first wave of releases will include a world guide with canon information that might shed some light on these elements less important to the actual story, and the rules will also detail a lot of information about fabrials that could answer my questions about half-shards. Until then, though, I'm just going to have to sit here and wonder (and keep a special eye out for mentions of sapphire on my reread for anything I missed).
