Chloe, pretending to joke: So when are you going to go out with me?
Rachel: I don't know. When are you going to ask me to?
(Later)
Max: And then you just ran away?!
Chloe: I didn't expect her to flirt back!!

Do you think amberpricefield could have happened if Max and Chloe were to have found Rachel alive?
I mean anything's possible...and I love the idea of Amberpricefield... but likely not with what we know in canon.
I think Chloe and Max's jealousy issues would be too intense in a relationship with multiple partners. Chloe has intense emotions if Max sides with anyone but her, and Max is very clearly jealous of Chloe's bond with Rachel. I think if Max ever chose Rachel over Chloe for ANY reason, Chloe would spiral out. And I think any time Chloe showed Rachel any affection, Max would eat herself alive over it.
It's also very unclear if Rachel even wanted a romantic relationship with Chloe at the point of the first game. She clearly cares about her, but there's no indications that they were together.
So realistically I'm going with no...but is that going to stop me from shipping it anyways? Of course not. I will not be limited by canon. (Or what I assume would be canon. Not actual canon.)

i dunno maybe i'm in the minority here but i wasn't really expecting much pricefield content from DE?
esp since they were gonna be adults, in a totally different new part of their lives
idk /shrugs, i'm still gonna keep making pricefield / amberpricefield content and i can freely... ignore the canon

Hi, I'm Max Caulfield from Life is Strange. I'm a kin, but I also have a Max fictive. We're looking for a Chloe Price mainly but would be okay with talking to anyone. We have a main Bae > Bay canon, Chloe and I spent our lives together after the storm, but have multiple timelines, including an amberpricefield. We're 21, so please be over 18.

whats the most interesting rachel ship to you? (not the same as your favorite, im asking about the most interesting) if you had to pick?
amberprice, amberfield, amberpricefield? (the rare rachel/steph, the never-before-seen rachel/alex?)
So, I just want to preface this by saying I read this question hours ago and haven't stopped thinking about it since then. I'm sorry for the slow reply but this is a very good question because it was difficult for me to answer lol
A big part of why I like shipping characters is because they're a great way of exploring the characters involved in a ship via how different facets of them are exposed during their interactions with different people, and how various ships can thus result in differing avenues of growth for a character due to the influence of the other person(s) in that ship. To put it more succinctly, you're gonna see a very different side of Chloe in a story where she's dating Victoria versus one where she's dating Rachel, and I really enjoy exploring those different sides of a character. Rotating fictional characters like 3D models is fun!
To give the most comprehensive answer I can, I'm actually gonna have to give my general thoughts on the ships you've listed here and lead up to a more definitive answer. There's a lot of other Rachel ships I have thoughts on that you haven't mentioned, like Amberchase and Ambermarsh, but I'm leaving them out due to that.
Amberfield - Assuming you've spent any time on my AO3 profile, you know I'm big on Amberfield. Right away I can tell you this ship is not the most interesting to me, but it's up there: we never see Rachel and Max interact in canon, which I will forever think is a shame considering the William Lives alt!timeline exists, and thus I just enjoy extrapolating what their interactions would've been like.
Rachel and Max parallel each other in a lot of ways (model vs photographer, both occupy the same position in Chloe's life that they trade out, Victoria equal parts being jealous of/attracted to them, and of course how alt!timeline Max is implied to have essentially occupied a similar spot on the social totem pole to Rachel) whilst simultaneously having a lot of key differences that make me deeply interested in what a relationship of any kind between the two would be like. The dynamic in my head I always envision is Max being a kind of grounding force to Rachel, while Rachel is able to coax a more adventurous side of Max out in a similar way to Chloe.
But there's also so many ways it could go wrong, how they could clash, and I do intend to explore those in my writing at some point. Amberfield is fun to think about!
Amberprice - Strong contendor for most interesting, though we're not quite there yet, this is a ship that to me is all about how you interpret both Rachel and Chloe. I have read so many fics that envision different versions of Amberprice that could all conceivably fit into canon, and for that reason I find this ship incredibly interesting.
Chloe was important to Rachel, Rachel was important to Chloe, and Chloe loved Rachel, but we don't know the real specifics aside from the events of Before the Storm (if you choose to take them as canon, I have opinions about this). This ship has so much raw potential because of how nebulous and undefined it really is. You can write it so many different ways! I love them.
Amberpricefield - This is my pick for most interesting.
You combine the unknown variable of how Max and Rachel would be around each other, the natural friction that would arise from them both being such important figures to Chloe (assuming you're writing something canon-adjacent), the differing ways you can choose to interpret the Amberprice component, and the question of how the triad is formed. So many conceivable variations in their dynamic, in how the relationship is formed, how you interpret the individual characters, how they'd interact with each other, there's so much fun to be had and I just find them so interesting to think about.
There is a lot of untapped potential when it comes to writing Amberpricefield, in my opinion, because a majority of the fics I've read err to the fluffier side of things instead of exploring how messy this ship really could be due to all the moving parts. For example, you cannot tell me there wouldn't be ungodly amounts of friction between Rachel and Max initially due to Rachel knowing full well how badly Max leaving messed with Chloe and Max distrusting this person she knows nothing about who has taken her position.
Amberchen - It's funny you mention Rachel/Alex because I did write a bit of this a while ago, though nothing worth posting. I find this ship to be an extremely interesting one specifically because of Alex's powers: Rachel is a character who revolves around people-pleasing, masking, and all manner of social performance. Underneath it all, she doesn't really know herself. She fears that there isn't a real her.
"Do you think there's a point when you've been acting so much that you don't even have your own personality anymore? You're just whatever you think other people want you to be?" - Rachel in BTS Ep 2, I love this moment so much.
Alex's powers let her read other people's emotions, tap into their thoughts, and gives her an insight others lack. None of Rachel's tricks would work on her, so she would be forced to engage with Alex as a person. Alex can see what's underneath it all, what Rachel can't or won't acknowledge, and that would be equal parts liberating and terrifying for Rachel. It's so interesting to think about how Amberchen would come about and in turn what their dynamic would be like if Alex's powers were in play.
Amberrich - Steph/Rachel. I'm gonna be honest, this ship doesn't do much for me on paper? I like Steph, I like Rachel, and I've read some really good Amberrich, but I can't really say I find this as interesting as other Rachel ships.
I think what is interesting is the contrast between Steph's strong sense of identity and Rachel's aformentioned insecurity about who she really is, which is paired nicely with their shared difficulty with openly expressing their emotions. They have areas of overlap but contrast in some key ways, which is always fun, but Amberrich just doesn't really linger in my mind the same way other ships do.
tl;dr amberpricefield baybee

idk if you're in the lis fandom, but amberpricefield for 002?
You're in luck! I am, in fact, in the Life is Strange fandom.
When I started shipping them:
I watched a few different let's plays of the first game, and then I promptly fell down a rabbit hole of fanfics. Needless to say, there's some really good ones for these three.
My thoughts:
Chaos trio (quite literally), I love them so much.
What makes me happy about them:
One thing I like about Amberpricefield, is that none of them are perfect. They're all deeply flawed in their own way individually and it's so interesting to see how that kind of influences their dynamic. Their relationship isn't perfect, because they're not perfect but that's what makes it so good. Because, at the end of the day, they're still awkward teenagers.
Any of the individual pairings involved here feels like a pretty realistic take on how a lot of relationships at this stage in a person's life would play out, which is honestly kind of refreshing.
What makes me sad about them:
Canonically, their relationship never had a chance (at least, as far as the game goes, because I've only recently learned about the comics and I haven't had the chance to check them out yet).
Rachel dies before she ever has the chance to meet Max, and if you chose to save Arcadia Bay at the end of the game? Chloe also dies. Depending on your choices, only one or two sides of the ship ever get the chance to thrive (and even then, one of them doesn't last).
Things done in fanfic that annoys me:
I haven't read any Amberpricefield fics in a while so I can't really remember much that might've annoyed me.
Things I look for in fanfic:
"Canon is dead, we shot it behind a Denny's."
Amberpricefield quite literally can't exist without some serious canon-fuckery. The storm doesn't happen, Rachel never died (whether that was Max's doing or not), Jefferson wasn't a complete psycho, etc...anything that means the three of them actually get a chance to at least meet.
As I've said before, hurt/comfort sustains me and all three of them need it, badly.
Also, while I don't actively look for them, I do enjoy the occasional "no powers" AU.
My Wishlist:
I remember there being a lot of canon-divergence fics for them, but it would be nice to see more fics exploring the aftermath.
Who I'd be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other:
For me, Max is very shippable, but if I had to pick one? Kate. Marshfield, while not my favourite ship, is pretty cute and one I could see working out.
The other two are a bit harder because the first game kind of already established that they had something and my memory of the other games in the series is kind of hazy.
Probably Steph for both of them actually? I don't know, this one's kind of difficult.
My happily ever after for them:
As previously stated, canon never happened. They all meet, grow close. They get out of Arcadia Bay together and maybe travel a bit before settling down near a beach somewhere.

Love is Strange FanGame Thoughts
So I finally got around to playing the fan game Love is Strange. It's on itch.io and it's a romance visual novel in the Life is Strange universe. I haven't played it because I like the canon LiS timeline so much I often find myself disagreeing with a lot of fan fiction more than enjoying it just because it differs in some way to my own head canons. But I was really in the mood for a new visual novel and I saw it again and finally sat down and played it.
The story or stories rather have Max as the protagonist with either Chloe, Rachel, Kate or Victoria as romantic interests. It's set in a weird version of the LiS universe where the storm didn't happen, no one's got powers, and Jefferson is replaced with Mx. Dog (Hawtdawgman with Jefferson's hair and goatee) to keep it more wholesome. It really nailed the characters but it didn't feel like a Life is Strange story (in a good way). Like it felt standalone enough for me to enjoy it.
I only played one playthrough for each of the four romantic interests, so it might be different depending on other routes but for me:
Of the four routes I honestly think I liked the Victoria one the most, not only was it very new since she's not in the Amberpricefield trio, that I've gotten a lot of from the comics, fan art, and fan fics; but also it really didn't rush into anything. Like the game took place of the course of 5 days, and Vic's story felt slow where some of the others felt rushed.
Rachel's story I really just wanted more of Max and Rachel don't get to hang out at all without Chloe in really any of the LiS stories I've seen canon or otherwise and they had a good dynamic going.
Max and Chloe are always great. Their chemistry felt deserved and seeing them happy is always a delight. I don't have too much to say it just feel right seeing them together.
Kate's story was nice. She still had a bunch of the bad stuff leading up to the original game happen to her here (even if it wasn't stated as explicitly). I guess having Max hanging out with Kate outside of trying to console her for the bullying problems was something I didn't realize I was missing. There was still a bit of that but it was so much genuine than like a responsibility almost. Like they're friends and I enjoyed seeing that outside of the context of the hectic story Kate went through in the original games. It made her character feel more real (even if it wasn't technically canon).
Unrelated to this fangame I like seeing fan art of Kate hanging with Max and Chloe and getting to let loose. This wasn't as reckless as some of that fan art where she's being all punk rock with Chloe, it seemed more grounded and realistic.
But yeah overall I really enjoyed the game and even if it wasn't canon more Arcadia Bay is always welcome. <3

one more ship, Amberfield
I Ship It! But in an amberpricefield kind of way, admittedly
What made you ship it?
Well, I mean, being honest there wasn't really any canon justification when I started. It was pre-comics. Mostly I was just a fan of Rachel, a fan of amberprice, and a fan of pricefield, so I thought, why not have my cake and eat it too? Then @holdsteady started planning our longfic lmao
What are your favorite things about the ship?
I think they're sweet! i love the dynamic of max being kind of oblivious and rachel being SO smitten with her. i think rachel gets a lot of being put on a pedestal by everyone around her and that's exhausting - and chloe's not exempt from this, because of their history. so, her relationship with max gets to start from a different place. the lack of history for both of them in combination with their connection through chloe makes for a really great dynamic imo
Is there an unpopular opinion you have on your ship?
hmm. idk. i don't like to ship them without chloe in some capacity bc i think it's too sad to leave chloe single :( she loves them both so much

For questions for fic writers: 1, 7, 38, 41, 49!
Answer for Tumblr
1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)
Depends on the person and their taste. I’d say either Alexithymia or Lacuna. They’re both pretty good examples of my writing style and how I write and typically do things with fics in general. Unless people wanna go and read the owl house fics, which aren’t bad, but they are old and have a lot of projection put onto them :)
7. Any worldbuilding you’re particularly proud of?
Actually yeah! Depends on whether we’re talking about posted or not quite finished WIPs. Cause there’s a bit of both. I particularly like the Wardfield AU I have for Max and Dana, while it’s not completely “original” I did spend a lot of time trying to come up with an interesting world that’s different from canon but is also relating back to it, too, if that makes any sense lmao.
As for wips, I have this Amberwardfield fic that I’m working on and I’m enjoying the world building for that!! The world itself isn’t the canon Blackwell, just a regular high school called Blackwell with typical high school shit and I’m having loads of fun constructing the world, probably some of best I’ve done. There’s more, but I’m afraid if I say too much it’ll ruin further wips.
38. Did any of your fics get surprisingly popular (whatever that means to you)? Which ones? Why do you think they were so successful?
There have been a few that have gotten more attention than I thought. I originally started fanfiction writing simply because I had so many ideas and I thought “hey, there’s billions of people out there, I’m sure this story will satisfy the same itch it did for me if they read this” so I never had high expectations of being noticed or particularly praised by people for my work.
I would say more than, like, half of what I post was surprisingly popular. But for the sake of actually answering question I’ll give a very specific fic: Forget Me Not.
I’m serious when I say I wasn’t expecting anyone to actually care about FMN. Like genuinely. I posted that fic as a fun, like, little trial run. I’d never posted a multi chapter fic and fully finished it so I wanted FMN to be that finished story while also soothing that same itch for Max with memory loss lmao. What I didn’t expect was for so many people to actually like that story!!
As to how it got that way, there’s various logical reasons. One being that it’s a multi chapter fic that gets updates, so it constantly bumps the fic up to the top of whatever ship/tags its under whenever I post a new chapter. Which allows for people to constantly be interacting with it. Not to mention the tags itself, a lot of the LIS fandom lives off angst revolving around Max. Not to mention the ship tags I use like amberpricefield or pricefield, etc etc.
41. Link a fic that made you think, “Wow, I want to write like that.”
Sadly, I don’t have the link of this fic, but I do remember bits and pieces of it.
This fic was about Love is Strange Amberfield where Rachel is living in this house in LA and Max had given her these flowers before she left and Rachel was trying her best to take care of them, and by the end of the fic she’d managed to take care of them and she couldn’t wait to show Max the flowers once she visited LA (which was supposed to be soon in the fic).
That fic changed my life honestly. The way the author wrote made me want to write like that. To convey a similar vibe without so many words. That fic was just so… wow, you know? Shocked me right into my core. I knew right then and there I wanted to write like that author.
49. What are you currently working on? Share a few lines if you’re up for it!
Hehehe, well I’m always working on new things. I’ve got a few stranger things fics I’m working on along with other LIS fics. A few multi chapter fics are making their way through slowly, with FMN being the top of my list atm, so it’ll take a while for those to get out. As for a snippet? Well… do you like Wardfield?
-
“What do you mean?” She signed, her brows furrowing further when Dana gave her an exasperated look.
“He was flirting with you, Max!” Dana threw her hands around dramatically, emphasizing her point. Max blinked for a moment, processing the words slowly.
It was quiet for a moment, the gears in Max’s brains shifting and turning autonomously.
A beat.
Then another.
Then, it clicked.
“Wait he was?!”
