"one batch of carrot cake incoming!" nicolas pushed the kitchen door open with his hips. both of his hands, covered in rainbow colored mittens, were clutching a tray of carrot cake, faint smoke wafting above it. carrot cake was the newest addition to the array of menu in aroma delights but, unlike any other menu he had crafted from scratch, the recipe came from his mother, which took baking to a whole new level. no matter how many times he tried to tweak the measurement, he wasn't able to replicate his mother's carrot cake. thus, doubt. he bent down to place the cake onto the display with a pair of tongs, but the sound of a bell jingling made him glance up and, with a wide grin, he rose to his feet, ignoring the way his knees crack oddly. "hey, welcome!" he removed his mittens and made his way to the counter. nicolas then leaned in, voice lowering in a conspiratorial manner. "anything interesting happened this weekend?"
