andromeda stares up at the sky
she is 19 and sitting alone in the grass staring at the sky
her hair is undone (just like trixie's in the prophet her mind whispers)
she is wearing a old dress ( cissa choose this for me in fifth year her mind says )
as her hand rests on her round belly she feels the movement (will i be a mother like mine her mind screams)
her eyes are fixated on the stars( you will never escape them her traitorous mind wails as she stares at the shimmering lights and only sees her family, unable to tear away)
the tears fall down from her almond shaped grey eyes (it has been a long time since you saw those eyes in others and not in the mirror or the prophet her mind screeches, bringing her back to a time when grey eyes surrounded her)
she gets up cradling her full-moon stomach (i will protect my baby her mind soothes her)
she can’t.
her daughter will die at the hand of her sister ( her final blow will be dealt staring into her mothers eyes, the hair that hangs over her corpse is a shade darker than the hair she would cut with scissors in the night).
andromeda tonks’s life falls apart
she is sitting at that same spot 25 years later clutching teddy cursing the stars that will forever haunt her
<3

i was tagged by @maiteo thank you dear 💕
last song i listened to: i can't stand my father anymore by maria beraldo! lowkey obsessed with it tbh
favorite colors: blue blue blue blue. all shades. second place goes to purple & black (it's a tie)
currently watching: i have many shows that i started then abandoned rip i haven't been in a tv shows mood in a long time. i did start a rewatch of house md and it was going well then i lost the will to watch again after i finished s3 so i'm stuck at the first few eps of s4
last movie: the substance. i didn't like it 😭 it was very.........weird not in a good way, in an it made me uncomfortable with the handling of its themes way. but i hate that the last one i watched is one i disliked bc i like most of the movies i watch and i prefer to say those lmao so i'll say the second to last one too: charisma (1999)! kiyoshi kurosawa is one of my favorite directors godddd he always leaves me speechless.. but also makes my brain work overtime i don't think i've watched ONE movie directed by him and not thought about it extensively after it was over (and i watched 6 so a fair bit)
currently reading: i have sucked so bad at reading lately :(( but i'm slowly reading amanat: women's writing from kazakhstan
last thing i googled: asturias 😭 i read that the legal drinking age in spain is 18 except in that region apparently so i was curious and googled it
current obsession: well. sinnettini. obviously. but also i'm obsessed with taking pictures of the sky 🥹 (will put one i took this morning at the end of the post under a cut)
currently working on: a (group) project on prisons that i'm doing for a course at work it's really interesting but also really depressing... looking at all the stats and stories about the state that prisons are in in italy and more specifically the area where i live and the horrible things that people who are imprisoned are subjected to is heartbreaking. makes me so angry too
sorry i talk too much but i'll tag @lesbian-i-ching @shapovalovvs @fifteenloove @marcotardelli @advantage-sinner if you want!

Iman says Kamala would probably name her flerken cat Carol 😭. I love how she says it like you know how Kamala is.
(She talks about writing. That there's no way she's moving away from her home to Los Angeles (brown girl energy right there). She talks about her parents. A lot of talk about Sana Amanat and how much she means to her. I love that. She's advocating for Lockjaw the best doggo. And she repeats some stories she's told before. I think she briefly mentions Brubaker too. Him and Iman writing Kamala would be v cool)

I think i am just writing this from a new presepective you often heard about the term
"Pyar me andha hojana"
We often consider or relate this with a bad vibe. But i guess it has a beautiful side to it. It should mean that jab insan muhabbat me hota hai naw koi dosra or shaqas dikhai nahi deta. I would never believe the idea of falling in love with 2 persons at the same time . I highly believe in the thing jab ap kisi sy muhabbat karen to apki ankhen us muhabbat ki amanat hain unhen dosro k liye andha hi hona chahe.

Meduza: Following Russia’s lead: Kazakhstani lawmakers from the ruling Amanat party proposed new amendments on Friday that would ban journalists from writing about LGBTQ+ people. The change would entail adding the phrase “non-traditional sexual orientations” to the list of topics media outlets can be banned for “promoting,” which currently includes violence, suicide, drugs, and pornography.

Spoilers for Amazing Spider-Man 26
I’d clip, but I literally don’t give a shit.
There is only one thing that can be said.
WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?! WHAT?!
WHHHHAATT?!
3 questions.
1: WHAT?!
2: WHAT THE FUCK?!
3: WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU?!
I decided to log off a bit to collect my thoughts....and with that I can confidently still say "What the actual fuck?"
Let's leave aside the problematic shit for a minute and talk about the other stuff.
You kill off a character who was the main character of her own book in a completely different book. One that she was barely in. One where the events of the book have nothing to really do with her.
It's one thing for Spider-Man writers to lazily just default to 'story where Peter gets sad' or refuse to have his most iconic love interest get back with him.
It's a whole other thing to screw up an actually good character for their stupid melodrama.
"Oh but it's comics. She'll be back in a bit"
Ya don't do the sappy death shit when you're aware that another writer is going to undo it.
Man, I can't imagine that these guys even bothered asking G. Willow Wilson, Sana Amanat, Adrian Alphona, or Jamie Mckelvie for permission nor can I imagine Marvel even telling any of them about this.
Ya think about the DC Sandman stuff and how in Dark Knights Metal Scott Snyder asked Neil Gaiman for permission to have Dream show up just to provide exposition.
Can't imagine why I'm thinking about that right now.
See I actually haven't been reading the Zeb Wells Spider-Man stuff, only really memeing on stupid pages uploaded online.
The only reason I'm assuming that Kamala was chosen to be killed off was because they thought the outrage would be funny. Given the creative's behavior.
Alrighty. Time to just talk about the real shit.
You took the biggest example of a Muslim Superhero, a hero that gave representation to a group that still suffers so much discrimination to this day, and you killed her off.
A character that truly meant so much to so many people and they kill her in this piece of shit.
I want to say that this was just pure ignorance, but given the behavior exhibited by the creators, I'm not giving them that benefit.
They probably want to laugh at the people upset about this, not knowing that killing Ms Marvel, I'd say a group is right to be upset.
Although I will say this. Please, for the love of God, do not harass, send death threats, or threats of physical violence to anyone over this.
This is a god forsaken piece of shit and we should treat it as such, but don't be a piece of shit yourself. That being said, next point
TIME FOR EVERY OLD MALE COMIC WRITER'S FAVORITE GAME SHOW!
WOMEN IN REFRIGERATORS!!!!! FILMED IN FRONT OF A LIVE STUDIO AUDIENCE!
ALL FOR A CHANCE TO WIN A NEW CONVERTIBLE, ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS WRITE A SEQUENCE OF A FEMALE CHARACTER BEING KILLED FOR NO NARRATIVE REASON OTHER THAN TO INJECT UNNEEDED PATHOS IN A DUDE'S STORY!
ZEB WELLS IS SCORING HIGH WITH THE DEATH OF BELOVED SUPER HEROINE KAMALA! WHO WE DON'T SEE ANY OF HER FRIENDS OR SUPPORTING CAST AROUND FOR HER DEATH!
INSTEAD WE SEE A DUDE SHE DIDN'T EVEN REALLY KNOW CRADLING HER BODY SADLY! THAT'S SOME GOOD MAN PAIN POINT'S!
UNFORTUNATELY, WELLS WON'T BE TAKING HOME THE WHEELS!
BECAUSE WRITERS LIKE ALAN MOORE KNEW BETTER THAN TO GIVE HIS FRIDGE TARGET THE SWEET RELEASE OF DEATH!
Seriously though, they unironically pulled the Women in Refrigerators shit and it's infuriating as hell.
But yeah, I'm sure the next big event comic that will change everything forever will bring her back, if we even have to wait that long.
Screw this shitty ass run for pulling this shit.
#spider-man#Ms Marvel#Peter Parker#kamala khan#Marvel#comics#amazing spider-man#rant#fuck this shitty run#women in refrigerators#also the art is really fucking bad

Hello, it is me again, the random girl who got obsessed with Central Asian literature! Thank you so, so much for your fantastic reply - I have since started to read Bygone Days (the Mark Reese translation), and oh BOY do I have some thoughts for you. Before I get to that - I did a little literary tour through Central Asia, read Galsan Tschinag's "The Caravane" (I don't think there is an English translation available, I read it in German, but Tschinag gives an autobiographical account of how he collected his dispersed Tuvan-tribe members in the 1990s and, in a caravan of 139 camels, 140 people, and their livestock, spent 62 days returning to their home territory in West Mongolia) as well as the way more famous "Jamila" by Chingiz Aitmatov (the story of a Kyrgyz woman and her lover seen through the eyes of her step-brother) . Unfortunately, I could not digitally get my hands on the books I picked out for Kazakhstan and Tajikistan. BUT! The absolute fantastic Bygone Days. I am only halfway through due to delaying it with the other books in between, but I love it SO MUCH. I adore that Qoqiriy does not treat the reader as stupid and tells us straight up what's going on, leaving the characters (but not the reader!) in the dark about various events! I adore the writing style that Reese's translation reflects, and I LOVE realism as a book genre so I am absolutely in favour of the scope! While the "star crossed lovers" aspect did surprise me a bit (for some reason I expected something more heavy-handed), it was absolutely a positive surprise! I am delighted by the footnotes in the Reese version, they are extensive, and they truly open Uzbek culture up to me. I am in the middle of volume 2 at the moment, and Usta Alim and his story about his wife Saodat were my favourite chapter so far. I literally sobbed! I'm sorry for overwhelming you with my thoughts here, but Otabek (as he is called in this translation) is such an interesting character - with his flaws, and his gentle nature, and his little fits of temperament. I wish Kumush was featured more, but alas. From your fantastic recommendation list, the devil's dance and Amanat have caught my eyes in particular, and I will be on the hunt for those sooner rather than later! Again, apologies for clogging up your ask box and dear god I hope this ask sends, lol. Sending you best wishes and I am absolutely up for talking literature some more if you'd like!! <3
Hi! I'm so glad you are enjoying Bygone Days. I just wanted to let you know I saw your asks, but we had to put my dog down this weekend, so I'm taking a small break from social media to grieve. I'll definitely write a more in depth answer in a few days, but I also have so many thoughts about Otabek.

Addressing Your Child's Health Concerns with the Best Child Specialists in Islamabad
When it comes to the health of your child, every parent seeks the best possible care. Whether it's addressing routine health concerns, tackling specific ailments, or ensuring their developmental milestones are met, finding the right medical professional is paramount. In Islamabad, many parents trust experienced pediatric specialists for their child's well-being, and this includes experts in pediatric ophthalmology. A crucial aspect of your child’s health is their vision, and seeking care from an expert Child Specialist in Islamabad is essential to ensure optimal visual development. A child's vision is one of the most important aspects of their health, as it influences their learning, behavior, and overall development. With the increasing use of digital screens, eye problems among children have become more prevalent, making it even more crucial to address any eye-related concerns early on. In this article, we will explore the importance of consulting a Child Specialist in Islamabad, particularly in the field of pediatric ophthalmology, and how Amanat Eye Hospital, recognized as the Best Eye Hospital in Rawalpindi, offers expert care to children with eye health concerns.
The Importance of Vision Care in Children
Vision plays a crucial role in a child’s development. From infancy to adolescence, a child’s visual system continues to grow and change. Good vision is essential for:
Learning and Education: Children rely heavily on their vision to read, write, and understand visual cues in a classroom setting. Poor vision can affect a child’s ability to perform well academically and socially.
Motor Skills Development: Vision is tied to fine and gross motor skills. Children with undiagnosed vision problems may struggle with activities like sports, drawing, and even basic movements like catching a ball or walking properly.
Social Interaction: Vision is vital for interacting with peers and family. Children with eye issues may face challenges in socializing, which can lead to frustration, low self-esteem, and isolation.
It’s important to remember that children often don’t realize that they have vision problems, as they may not have the words or understanding to express what they are experiencing. This is why regular eye exams by a Child Specialist in Islamabad are essential to detect potential issues early.
Common Vision Problems in Children
Several eye conditions are common in children, many of which can be detected and treated early with the help of a pediatric eye specialist. Some of these conditions include:
Refractive Errors: These include nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), and astigmatism, which cause blurry vision and can be corrected with glasses or contact lenses.
Strabismus (Crossed Eyes): A condition where the eyes are not aligned properly, leading to double vision or poor depth perception.
Amblyopia (Lazy Eye): A condition in which one eye does not develop normal vision, leading to reduced vision in that eye even though there is no apparent issue with the eye itself.
Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye): An infection of the eye that causes redness, irritation, and discharge.
Cataracts: A condition in which the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, causing blurred vision, which can affect a child's ability to see clearly.
Identifying these issues early and seeking timely treatment from a Child Specialist in Islamabad can help prevent long-term vision impairment and ensure that your child’s vision develops normally.
Why Choose a Child Specialist in Islamabad?
The benefits of consulting with a Child Specialist in Islamabad are numerous. Pediatric specialists have expertise in diagnosing and treating eye conditions in children, and they approach treatment in a way that is tailored to young patients.
Specialized Expertise: Pediatric specialists are trained to diagnose and treat the unique eye health concerns that children face. They are skilled in working with young patients who may not be able to fully communicate their symptoms.
Child-Friendly Approach: Eye specialists in Islamabad use a child-friendly approach, ensuring that your child feels comfortable during the examination and any required treatments. They use techniques that minimize anxiety and stress, which is crucial for young children.
Early Diagnosis: Early diagnosis is key to preventing future problems. A pediatric ophthalmologist will identify eye conditions early and provide treatment or corrective measures to promote healthy vision development.
Holistic Care: Pediatric specialists take a holistic approach to treating eye problems, considering not just the physical aspects but also the emotional and developmental impacts of the condition.
When looking for a Child Specialist in Islamabad, choosing a clinic or hospital with a reputation for excellence in pediatric care is essential. I just logged into my DW for the first time since July and saw I had a draft version of another reading log, with books I completely forgot about reading lmao. lmao.
cw for some mentions of SA/CSA for the last two books.
I'll jot some quick thoughts (and one actually written out bit of the draft about Amanat):
Amanat: Women's Writing from Kazakhstan, translated and edited by Zaure Batayeva and Shelley Fairweather-Vega: This is the first anthology of Kazakh women's literature available in English, and for many of the stories it's the first time they've been published in translation (all originally written in Russian or Kazakh.) It was very interesting! I liked a lot of the stories, though I felt the quality of translation greatly deferred throughout the book... A lot of the stories have a heavy focus on the anxieties of post-Soviety society, the disconnect on a generational and an individual level of pre-, during-, and post-Soviet Kazakhstan culture and society. it made me desperately wish more writing from this literary tradition were available to read in English. One entry in particular, an excerpt from the longer novel The Nanny, made me want to read the novel in full so badly! But this is all that's available...
Stories I particularly enjoyed: Aslan's Bride by Nadezhda Chernova, tl Fairweather-Vega Hunger (excerpt from The Nanny) by Aigul Kemelbayeva, tl Batayeva Propiska by Raushan Baiguzhayeva, tl Fairweather-Vega The Beskempir by Zira Naurzbayeva, tl Fairweather-Vega The Rival by Zira Naurzbayrva, tl Fairweather-Vega Black Snow of December by Asel Omar, tl Fairweather-Vega
The Queer Games Avant-garde: How LGBTQ Game Makers Are Reimagining the Medium of Video Games, edited by Bo Ruberg*: To be honest, almost every game and game developer in this was someone I was unfamiliar with. But I appreciated reading Aevee Bee's interview a lot, her view on "representation" and putting one's own experiences and identities into their work resonated. Robert Yang also had an interesting interview; those are the only two developers whose games I'd actually played before reading lol.
I actually posted a few excerpts that stood out to me here on my sideblog: https://laciere.tumblr.com/tagged/bo%20ruberg
Wanting: Women Writing About Desire: This is an anthology from many different women of many different backgrounds, writing about their relationship to sex and actively desiring sex. I REALLY LIKED THIS. I don't feel I can go into it now, it's been too many months. There are a lot of good pieces about desire after sexual violation, or even desire in the midst of sexual violence. It has one of the most honest and brutally powerful pieces about CSA and the suffering wrought by traumatic bonding that I have read. There's also a piece about a butch lesbian struggling with butchness and what she's allowed to desire, that spoke to me.
And there were more I liked a lot! it was a library book I should borrow again, probably.
How to Cook your Daughter: A Memoir by Jessica Hendra: This is a memoir about the author being sexually abused by her father, who was a major celebrity and a very abusive, very unwell man, and confronting him about it in adulthood. I found this incredibly cathartic to read. I want to buy my own copy eventually.
CW for the aforementioned topics but this passage in particular was deeply affecting to read, for me:

Iman Vellani Age, Movies and TV Shows, Height, Biography, Wiki and Net Worth
Iman Vellani is a Pakistani-Canadian model and actress. She has quickly risen to fame for her portrayal of Kamala Khan in the Disney+ miniseries Ms. Marvel (2022).
She has been working in the acting industry since 2019 and gained considerable reputation in a relatively short period of time.
Iman Vellani Biography/Wiki
Iman Vellani, born on September 3, 2002, in Karachi, Pakistan. Her journey began in Karachi, Pakistan, but she relocated to Canada at the tender age of one. One day Milochka was looking herself over in the mirror and stared, dumbstruck. So ugly! Dull hair, puffy eyes, gray face, covered with dust. She had nothing left to hope for, and this is what she came up with: she would leave this city forever, go somewhere, anywhere, to some backwoods place where only old people lived, and there she would let time drag by forever and ever. Among those old people, maybe her ugliness wouldn’t be so noticeable. This time she didn’t bother consulting with Antonina. She decided all by herself. She sold her furniture and TV. She settled up with the library. She went to Styopka’s grave and cried for a while. And then she picked up her little lightweight suitcase and set off for she didn’t know where.
She tore along in a train, she suffocated in crowded, dusty buses, she walked on foot, she hitched a jolting ride in a passing cart, she walked some more, she took another train... until she was completely worn out.
She stopped at the very edge of the water-- and the breath caught in her lungs! The sharp smell of salt and seaweed made her head spin. Any ancient nomad who had crossed the Gobi Desert and the Asiatic steppe and the winter forests of Old Rus’ would have been just as dumbstruck at the edge of this endless expanse of sea.
The sea was calm. Shallow waves ran toward Milochka and tickled her bare feet, which weren’t used to the earth. She had taken her sandals off right away when she caught sight of the colors of the sky caving in, off in the distance; overhead it was brighter, and at her feet it thickened to gleam like black ink.
Milochka held her breath, and it seemed to her that in a single instant she relived her whole life: the bitter tears at night, her incurable ugliness, the affair with Styopka. And then everything flew away as if it had never been.
Excerpt from Aslan’s Bride by Nadezhda Chernova, tl. Shelley Fairweather-Vega, published in Amanat: Women’s Writing From Kazakhstan (2022, Gaudy Boy LLC)

So, I'm assuming, from instgram, that Sana Amanat is a producer or writer or even showrunner of Daredevil. She's also a Muslim-brown girl, a big wig at Marvel, Iman's close friend and the creator of Ms Marvel. So I don't think it's a reach to say that she would write Kamala into the show.
I'd even say there's a chance Kamala might have an entire arc on DD? The rumors were that we were going to see why Kamala's bangle was in India during MM and why we saw the Ten Rings symbol. But the show was changed.
But this will be sooooo good for Kamala no matter what her arc is. And a setting we have never seen her in before.
What do you think Yusufs presence means?
