the worst thing about being a Zelda fan is the fandom is so large that you have to figure out what SUBCULTURE you fit into to join discord servers. I’m not that interested in things to do with BotW/AoC/TotK so I have to avoid the large majority of discord servers bc they’re only oriented on those games. I have no interest in roleplay currently so that eliminates the second biggest subculture. I don’t know what Linked Universe even is so uh no luck there. The Zelda fandom subculture I’m most closely aligned with is the Four Swords Manga fandom I guess but do they have servers and would they be interested in things not relating exclusively to Green, Red, Blue, Vio, and Shadow??? Zelda servers are hard man I just wanna talk about my OoT AU 😩

one thing that I adore with the various retellings of the oot castle situation in this fandom is that basically everybody has managed to cook up their own flavor of "the unnamed king of hyrule is a little bitch", and I think that's beautiful

totk really is one of those games that make me go "ok thanks for the characters, setting, and general plot, but ill take it from here <3" because the entire historical timeline had so much potential for interesting and nuanced story telling but they just went with the old zelda story formula and YES thats how theyve always done it but botw was such a reset in terms of gameplay that they couldve overhauled how they handle story in totk. but they didnt

Writing WW Ganon is such a ride. The overwhelming sorrow and the sheer fucking madness. The loneliness that will have him talking to anyone who will listen in hopes of them understanding even just a fraction of the shit he's been through. The uncontrollable rage setting off in bursts that can leave entire islands shredded (even before regaining all his power) and manifests in him snapping in ways that would be jarring like a lighting bolt and gone just as fast.

The heartache of just knowing how desperate he must be, how hurt, how traumatized and alone. Imagine what he came home to, after breaking the seal to the sacred realm. Imagine him finding no one left alive because his actions made the Gerudo even more irredemable in the eyes of Hyrule, the only ones still standing now watered down and raised intentionally to forget their culture. If there even are any at all. After seeing Twilight Princess I don't have high hopes for the survival of the Gerudos, and it would explain his "red rage" that drove him to start immediately ripping Hyrule to shreds starting from the sages on up.

Not to mention their conspicuous absence in Wind Waker at all.

I dunno man, I think its more a matter of opinion. There's some really heavy and great story bits from TP that I love! And I've always seen OOT a little bit,,,over hyped? But obviously people are gonna have different options and that's fine.
