I feel like Simon was the most excited when Dave adopted them at the end of The Road Chip, because like then it was all official and legal and everything.

I mean Theodore literally already called him dad in the first movie. And definitely in Chipwrecked for sure, Dave was very much being a parent to Alvin. I just think Simon probably didn't really feel much like a son of Dave, until they were actually legally adopted, while the other two already felt like it was pretty official anyway.

MERRY CHRISTMAS‼️do u have any holiday hcs?

All the kids are in charge of making something for big holiday meals. That way they all have at least one thing they like, and when you have twelve people making food you inevitably have enough for all twelve people. Win-win.

There’s a whole list of late fall/winter holidays that they celebrate, peculiar and normal alike. American Thanksgiving was eventually added for Jacob and Noor, though they’ve thoroughly established that it has nothing to do with the actual original Thanksgiving and is more an excuse to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving like five times. Even still, certain peculiars (Enoch) refuse to participate willingly.

Horace has officially put himself in charge of decorating for said holidays. This makes late October, November, and December actual literal hell for Horace. The others offer to help, but it’s not that he doesn’t want it, it’s that he’s the one who has to do it or it won’t be absolutely perfect.

One year Jacob and Noor got everyone Santa hats. And then forced everyone to wear them. Please enjoy that mental image.

They do religious holidays, but they don’t really do religious holidays. Since peculiars don’t appear to really have religion it’s more about their family’s traditions and the history of it than anything else.

Because of the Panloopticon, convincing Miss Peregrine to take them to a snowy loop on vacation is now an option. Jacob, Horace, and Olive get the most excited about it.

Jacob tried to show them instant hot chocolate. It did not go well.

Horace. Snowy loop. Ice skating. Need I say more.

As previously mentioned, Jacob will pick one Christmas song he likes and put it on repeat for literal hours and that is why Jacob is not allowed to pick the music anymore. Noor, however, is, and brings back records of things she and Jacob grew up with like Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown and the Alvin and the Chipmunks Christmas album. One of those was significantly more confusing to the kids from the 1940s than the other.

Ooh, okay. Apologies! This ask has been sitting in my inbox for quite a while... so many months... and I never really got a passable thought until now, so here we go:

- Karnak has quite a fondness for beings most people would consider pests: spiders, roaches, rats and mice. Inside his hard exterior shell, he hosts a fine colony of spider webs and former egg nests from over the years. #MotherKarnak

- A few of the rats used to crawl onto his box to settle near the open light sources. When operating, that crystal ball of his can give off some warmth.

- In my Human Karnak AU, Penny’s Dollhouse, I would think he has a fondness for bees too.

- His eyes are like faulty glasses frames. The lenses keep falling out… there have been plenty of eye replacements for him over the years.

- One time his voice box glitched out and it sounded closer to Alvin and the Chipmunks’ long lost brother.

- ^^^ I’d like to think this happened before family friendly mode. (Could you imagine? LOL)

I have a few hcs/questions about Piper:

Piper going to Jessie and not R for things (something small like doing her hair or asking her to help tie her shoes) and R being really happy that Piper is accepting of Jessie but also a little sad cos that’s her baby and she used to just come to R for those things

Piper going to camp with Jessie instead or R for whatever reason (maybe Jessie’s camp is in the UK/Europe for once so it’s shorter travel for Piper)

Piper making 2 Mother’s Day cards at school (one for R and one for Jess) and Jessie is just in absolute tears - like sobbing - and Piper is like what’s wrong??? And Jessie is just like I’m so happy and it’s a big family cuddle day/weekend

Jess and Piper catching on that R is feeling stressed/tired/ill etc and forces a cuddle day where R does absolutely nothing and is just looked after by her girls

2. canada are set to play england in a friendly in london so piper stays with jessie whilst you go with the matildas. the kit crew make a mini fleming jersey for piper and she loves it!! she walks around so proudly in it and with jessie and your permission, the media team do a video where piper interviews jessie.

it goes a bit viral and everyone is melting at the way piper and jessie interact with eachother because although she isn’t biologically jessie’s, they are eerily similar.

piper clings to sabs and cloe through camp and a lot of great candids come out of it.

piper follows bev around like she does jonas or tony and every so often bev just blindly hands her a snack or a drink whilst yelling at the girls on the pitch. piper is completely unfazed by this because of how tony is on the sidelines.

the first thing piper says to jordyn is that she reminds her of rapunzel because she’s got long blonde hair and she’s pretty. she then asks if she’s got a pet chameleon.

3. sam and kristie take piper the friday night before mother’s day weekend because you and jessie hadn’t had a date night in soooo long. sam lets her have dino nuggets for dinner and choc chip ice cream for desert as long as piper promises to get into bed at the right time.

they draw and colour and sam puts on alvin and the chipmunks because she’s never seen it ???

kristie then pulls out a plastic tub full of craft supplies and sam is like ??? where the fuck did that come from ????

“you had nothing here for her so i got her some crafts”

kristie is in disbelief because the box is kept in the back of their closet underneath all of sam’s coats that are hanging up, there’s no way she hasn’t seen it

sam does one of those paint by number things and kristie suggests making you a mother’s day card and piper immediately is going through the different coloured paper and the fancy scissors and stickers that she can use

she hands a piece of pink paper and a piece of yellow paper to kristie to fold and kristie asks her if she’s gonna make you two cards

“no silly, one’s for mama and the other is for mummy”

piper decorates yours with butterflies and jessie’s with ladybugs

the next day the two of them go to the florist to get you both a little something whilst sam heads to the bakery to grab you a cupcake each (she offered to just make them but kristie knows she can’t cook, let alone bake to save her life so store bought was the best option)

sam drops piper back home with a smile on her face. you open the door puzzled but spot the gift bag with the flowers and know that something’s up

sam leaves and piper rushes into your bedroom where jessie is putting away clean laundry with a big smile on her face, carefully putting down the bag and getting out the flowers to hand to jessie

jessie just assumes the flowers are for you because the two of them had planned something for you for mother’s day but then piper stomps her foot

“open the card!!!!!”

you walk into the room just in time to see jessie open her card whilst piper gives you yours

she’s tearing up and piper quickly becomes concerned and is worried that she doesn’t like the card. jessie assures her that she loves it and that she loves the little ladybugs she drew on the front

the three of you spend the day together, going for a picnic like originally planned and cuddling in the big bed watching movies. jessie cooks your favourite meal and gives you a necklace that piper had helped pick out and a good travel mug since you’d been meaning to get another one for ages

you look at her sheepishly and pull out a book that she’s been wanting and a photo of the three of you in a nice frame. it’s from piper’s fourth birthday party when she was blowing out the candles. you and jessie are sat beside her and there’s a clear shot of macca, alanna and caitlin in the background stuffing their faces with party pies

jessie tucks piper in that night and then comes back out into the living room balling her eyes out because she wasn’t expecting any of today. it wasn’t her first mother’s day with you and piper but she still had plans to make it all about you, so for piper to make her a card and think about her made her really emotional

you two spend the night cuddling until it’s time to go to bed and it’s the best nights sleep jessie’s had in a long time

4. jessie catches on that you’re ill as soon as you wake up. you’re groggy and don’t seem to be all with it as you trudge around the bedroom looking for your slippers that are sat by the door like they always are

she just watches you though to make sure she’s not overthinking it. you’d played a pretty rough game the night before and it had rained all week so maybe it was all just catching up to you

she knows she’s not overthinking it when piper climbs up onto her lap at the dining table

“what’s wrong with mummy?”

“you noticed that too, huh?”

“is she sick? she was coughing last night when she put me to bed”

that’s all jessie needs to hear before she’s dragging you back to bed and tucking you under the covers before literally throwing piper onto the bed next to you. piper giggles as she lands and ticks herself under the covers and snuggles up next to you just as jessie comes back with some medicine, a bottle of water and a cup of tea.

you protest because piper starts preschool regularly on the following monday and jessie can’t get sick either because she can’t miss training. neither of them are having a bar of it and force you to cuddle with them.

you fall asleep in less than half an hour after jessie turns on a documentary about safari animals. piper follows suit quickly and falls asleep snuggled in between the two of you. jessie isn’t a napper but she also falls asleep combing her fingers through your hair

hello :D! i'm curious that with the quagmires being your favorite characters, do you have headcanons for them, pre and/or post canon?

Hiya! :) I have SO MANY hcs about them so thanks for asking!!!! :D

Pre-canon relationship dynamic:

Quigley was closer to Isadora than to Duncan before the fire although he still was really close to Duncan too. I mainly think this bc in ‘The Slippery Slope’ Quigley mentioned Isadora on her own a few times, even quoting a couplet she wrote, whereas he only mentioned Duncan when talking about both of his siblings.

In order of most to least mischievous growing up I feel like it’d go Quigley, then Isadora and lastly Duncan.

Games/How the triplets would play when they were young:

Duncan: Would grab any random object of *aproximately* the right size (could be one of his mother’s shoes or it could be a spatula) and pretend it was a microphone. He’d follow people around “reporting” (more so narrating,really) what they were doing. This would REALLY annoy Isadora bc the worst thing when having writer’s block would be to have someone right beside you describing how you “stare blankly at a page in anguish. No inspiration detected for at least another treacherous week”.

Quigley: Strikes me as the kind of guy to climb trees, regardless of age tbh. He just has the vibe.

He would build forts at EVERY opportunity. Duncan once challenged him to build one in every room of the mansion and he almost did, with the exception of his parents’ office which was always locked.

He’d also draw loads. His drawing of a cave in TSS was described as an “elegant rendering” so I imagine he started doing art young. He’d get too passionate with a box of crayons and end up snapping most of them though. For his sixth birthday he’s gifted one of those pencils with multiple colours in the led and somehow angles it so that all the purple is used up first.

Isadora: She’d write plays for her+her siblings to perform for their parents+their parents’ friends that had surprisingly dark plot lines, especially for a 7 year old. Oh, and all the lines would rhyme, of course. She’d get annoyed when people read the script and asked if it was all one long song rather that the masterpiece of poetry she intended it to be perceived as.

Quigley would really enjoy acting in her plays+pour his heart and soul into the performance. Duncan would get really excited about it and do great when practicing with just the three of them but when it came to the actual performance he’d get shy+back out meaning Quigley or Isadora have to fill in for his role.

🎃 Halloween:

For Halloween one year, Isadora thought it’d be an amazing idea to dress up as Evelyn the conjoined twin bc she loved the song ‘Evelyn Evelyn’ based on her but Quigley found their story too depressing and Duncan didn’t like that it meant one of the triplets would get left out. Quigley suggests ‘Alvin and the chipmunks’ as a group costume earning instant “no”s from his siblings. They end up dressing in individual costumes based off historical figures (A poet, an investigative journalist and an explorer) but create their own story involving time-travel that connects the 3 characters.

Isadora loves Halloween as she is a goth(headcannon) so it really goes with her vibe. Quigley takes information about monsters/spooky creatures like vampires or werewolves and uses it to decide on which part of the world would be best for them to inhabit. Duncan then uses Quigley’s theories to research newspaper articles from the area, searching for any sign of the creatures.

Style/Fashion sense 🌟🧥

Duncan 📰:

Comfy green jumpers/sweaters or sweater-vests, white short-sleeved dress shirts and dress trousers/pants. (Pre-canon)

Comfy green polo-neck jumpers and (usually brown) corduroy pants/trousers and either dark green or white high top shoes. (Post-canon) Occasionally wears neatly applied eyeliner. The slight change in style is bc Duncan doesn’t want to wear clothes that feel so similar to a school uniform after spending so much time with those as his only clothes at Prufrock. He’ll occasionally wear hoodies but not if he’s to be seen in public.

Owns a few T-shirts with Dorothy Parker quotes which he cherishes and wears daily, even if they can’t be seen under the jumper/sweater. One quote he’d have is: “The first thing I do in the morning is brush my teeth and sharpen my tongue”

Isadora+Quigley once bought him a quirky reporter’s hat with a feather in it as a joke but Duncan ended up adoring it; convincing himself it gave him an extra boost of inspiration when writing articles. 🪶

Quigley 🗺:

Initially, he struck me as a rucksack guy but I was reading over TSS yesterday and discovered he canonically uses a totebag, “I was putting an atlas in a totebag I found”-Quigley Quagmire (‘The Slippery Slope’ Chapter 8, page 148) so technically that’s a canon not a headcanon but oh well 🙃

Wears clothes more so for practicality than for style, although if he has a choice he’ll get things in dark purple.

He’d wear cargo pants bc of all the pockets; this would inspire Isadora to write a poem titled ‘Two and a half’ about a scientist who was trying to clone someone twice but messed up, resulting in one of the copies (Quigley) having no legs.

He would also wear a jacket with tonnes of pockets bc it’s practical for the explorer’s life he leads plus it looks cool. Although, it looks a little less cool when he stitches on a hood with fabric that doesn’t even match.

He drew maps on a couple of T-shirts and wears those, unfortunately he has to redraw them every time they get washed.

Wears exclusively boots bc of their grip+durability, one boot would have purple laces and the boot on the other foot would have black laces bc the original lace got stuck in a thorn bush so he stole borrowed one of Isadora’s.

As for accessories; a compass on string looped round his neck, clips shoved in at random to keep hair from falling in his face as he climbs, a hat/beanie with pins on it

Also: Frayed fingerless gloves!!! I saw this in one of Quill’s art pieces of Quigley and like the idea immensely ( @lemonysnicket ) :))

Always has the most RANDOM items in his pockets; will reach in looking for a packet of gum and come out with binoculars.

Isadora 📜:

Wears almost exclusively black: Black boots or high top converse (with doodles on the white toe bit in sharpie),

Wore black nail polish pre-canon. At Prufrock she improvises using black markers+pens on her nails. She once tried the same trick for mimicking eyeliner…it did not turn out well and Duncan brings it up at the WORST times.

Wears winged black eyeliner, smudged under the eyes.

Likes long swishy skirts (midi skirts). They’re sometimes a bit impractical but if she’s just spending the day writing poetry it’s fine. Otherwise she likes cuffed shorts with leggings underneath.

Violet once bought fishnet gloves bc she liked how they looked but gave them to Isa after they kept getting caught in her inventions. Isadora loves them even more bc they’re from Violet.

Has a really cool leather jacket but doesn’t wear it much bc she secretly worries that she isn’t cool enough for the jacket.

Has a T-shirt with all of Sappho’s poems printed out really small and arranged into a picture of Sappho herself. Quigley owns a similar one but his contains the bee-movie script.

Cooking abilities ranked🍳:

1: Quigley 🗺- he’s the best bc he had to cook for himself while “dead”. Granted, he did just eat canned peaches, toasted marshmallows, almonds and carrots but he had to find his own food anyway so that’s a start.

2: Isadora 📜- Her meals at Prufrock were cooked for her but it’s possible she had to cook for Duncan and herself at previous guardians. This task would fall on her as Duncan used to be afraid of stoves for a while after the fire

3: Duncan 📰- For the reason above and also bc he seems like the kind of guy who would mess up simple dishes by trying to apply extra information, “I read in a news article once about a famous chef who’d put mozzarella in porridge for extra flavour, let’s try that!” (Made-up quote)

Isadora: Fountain pen ✒️ bc it makes her poetry look fancy

Duncan: Biro bc it doesn’t smudge easily and he needs to writes down a lot of info quickly for his journalism 🖊

Quigley: Coloured biros bc they make maps easily decipherable+they don’t smudge easily which is useful for accuracy

In a modern AU Quigley has a 6 hour screen time average and it is ENTIRELY Google maps. Duncan listens to podcasts. Isadora’s Pinterest is made up completely of quotes.

Books/Literature 📚:

Apart from atlases, Quigley reads fantasy books with maps. He would adore books in the Grishaverse bc of this, especially obsessing over the canal system of Ketterdam which can be seen in detail in a map in ‘Crooked Kingdom’ by Leigh Bardugo. 📚 🧙‍♀️ However, with the Grisha triology (Shadow and Bone, Siege and Storm + Ruin and Rising) he would be disappointed by how little the cartographer/ex-cartographer protagonist mentions maps.

Duncan would enjoy the ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’ series due to the strategic, organised layout alongside Pip-the protagonist- ‘s note-taking skills. As Duncan aspires to be an investigative journalist he’d be enthralled by the investigations that are central in these books. He would annotate the books as he reads them; filling them with his own theories as well as highlighting important information.

The poem ‘Long Distance II’ by Tony Harrison doesn’t consist of rhyming couplets but I think Isadora would find its portrayal of grief powerful regardless of whether it’s in her preferred poetic format. Especially as it’s about the loss of family members.

Quigley would create his own fantasy map using tea-stained paper with rice spilled on it, drawing around the rice to get the outline of a country. He’d be really strategic about the details he draws though; having mountains before rivers so the water runs off of them etc. 🗺

Some Larrry Talbot/ The Wolf Man brain-rot:

(A/N: I recently watched the Original and Remake of The Wolfman and now I’m obsessed with ONE Sad Wet Dog of a man.)

• Mans is THICCCCC. Larry Talbot is NOT skinny and I will DIE ON THIS HILL. (Alvin and The Chipmunks meet the WolfMan was an OUTLIER)

• absolute KING of the Sleep Pants/Robe/Bare chest combo. This man looks like a spoiled little PRINCE every time he gets ready for bed.

• Grumbles/talks in his sleep.

• Has a Specifically made Basement Den that he goes to when it’s the Full Moon for safety reasons.

• Absolutely Terrified of himself. He doesn’t like to touch things or other people because he’s afraid of his own strength.

• Would go absolutely INSANE over those Dog Sensory Videos.

• I need more versions of Larry Talbot that are like ‘Um… I have a Medical Condition….” Because I think that’s honestly the most humanizing way to view Lycanthropy.

• Advocates for Lycanthrope rights like Safehouses for Scared young Were-people who need somewhere to safely transform and PROPER and ETHICAL Medical research into how to better help people with Lycanthropy in their day to day lives.

• Once he gets comfortable and doesn’t worry that he’s gonna hurt them, he would be the BEST CO-SLEEPING PARTNER ON THE PLANET. Mans is a Human Heated Blanket, and always smells like Wolfsbane. <3

Infodump headcanons do it I dare you

(don't judge me for some of them bc some are self projection lol!)

- although blues isn't usually home, sometimes he will stay at the lab just to hang out with his siblings and will take them to places like arcades and the stores

- quickman will sometimes rock himself back and forth/side to side for long periods of time while listening to music and tends to feel embarrassed when someone finds him doing that, he's just like "you saw nothing", he also tends to pace around the place

- quickman also listens to nightcore, he listens to the same songs with different speeds/pitch and so much that the 2nd rms are like "He's listening to Alvin and the chipmunks again", in a joking manner, quickman yells that them and tells them it's nightcore

- (also going to add in anons hc about quickman and the stressball because I agree, shoutout to the anon that sent this you're so real for this!!!!!!!)

- elecman tends to wear headphones sometimes bc his mechanisms inside make a buzzing sound bc of the electricity/static, although it's not too loud that people hear it unless it's extremely quiet, then you can slightly hear it but it it's louder for him, it bothers him sometimes and will wear headphones to listen to music to distract him from the sound

- elecman can't really get much rest bc he's too energetic so he will walk around the lab at night or watch TV

- iceman will put board game pieces in his mouth when no one is looking

I don’t celebrate and have so far not been struck with The Music since I’m no longer in retail so it hasn’t been on my mind BUT

Have you considered HC putting mistletoe everywhere in their house so that XL just HAS to kiss him and when FX and MQ see the state of the house they simply walk the other way to avoid eating all that dog food.

Have you considered Xianle Quartet snowball fight?

Have you considered that if either of Hualian chopped down a tree to take home the other would be swooning?

Have you considered that if XL made cookies for Santa, Santa would be left paralyzed just like QYZ was when he snuck in to leave gold bars?

And most importantly: have you considered sneaking into whatever controls the music at your work and taking back control? I hope for your sake they at least don’t play the Alvin and the chipmunks version of holidays songs because MY OLD JOB DID
