orphic hymns to apollo and diana
i should mention that i did NOT write these!! they are from like the 1st century AD lol
APOLLO:
Blest Pæan, come, propitious to my prayer, illustrious power, whom Memphian tribes revere,
Slayer of Tityus, and the God of health, Lycorian Phœbus, fruitful source of wealth.
Spermatic, golden-lyred, the field from thee receives it's constant, rich fertility.
Titanic, Grunian, Smynthian, thee I sing, Python-destroying, hallowed, Delphian king:
Rural, light-bearer, and the Muse's head, noble and lovely, armed with arrows dread:
Far-darting, Bacchian, two-fold, and divine, power far diffused, and course oblique is thine.
O, Delian king, whose light-producing eye views all within, and all beneath the sky:
Whose locks are gold, whose oracles are sure, who, omens good reveals, and precepts pure:
Hear me entreating for the human kind, hear, and be present with benignant mind;
For thou surveys this boundless æther all, and every part of this terrestrial ball
Abundant, blessed; and thy piercing sight, extends beneath the gloomy, silent night;
Beyond the darkness, starry-eyed, profound, the stable roots, deep fixed by thee are found.
The world's wide bounds, all-flourishing are thine, thyself all the source and end divine:
'Tis thine all Nature's music to inspire, with various-sounding, harmonizing lyre;
Now the last string thou tuned to sweet accord, divinely warbling now the highest chord;
The immortal golden lyre, now touched by thee, responsive yields a Dorian melody.
All Nature's tribes to thee their difference owe, and changing seasons from thy music flow
Hence, mixed by thee in equal parts, advance Summer and Winter in alternate dance;
This claims the highest, that the lowest string, the Dorian measure tunes the lovely spring.
Hence by mankind, Pan-royal, two-horned named, emitting whistling winds through Syrinx famed;
Since to thy care, the figured seal is consigned, which stamps the world with forms of every kind.
Hear me, blessed power, and in these rites rejoice, and save thy mystics with a suppliant voice.
DIANA:
Hear me, Jove's daughter, celebrated queen, Bacchian and Titan, of a noble mien:
In darts rejoicing and on all to shine, torch-bearing Goddess, Dictynna divine;
Over births presiding, and thyself a maid, to labor-pangs imparting ready aid:
Dissolver of the zone and wrinkled care, fierce huntress, glorying in the Sylvan war:
Swift in the course, in dreadful arrows skilled, wandering by night, rejoicing in the field:
Of manly form, erect, of bounteous mind, illustrious dæmon, nurse of human kind:
Immortal, earthly, bane of monsters fell, 'tis thine; blest maid, on woody hills to dwell:
Foe of the stag, whom woods and dogs delight, in endless youth who flourish fair and bright.
O, universal queen, august, divine, a various form, Cydonian power, is thine:
Dread guardian Goddess, with benignant mind auspicious, come to mystic rites inclined
Give earth a store of beauteous fruits to bear, send gentle Peace, and Health with lovely hair,
And to the mountains drive Disease and Care.

When Aphrodite is the daughter of Zeus where would you place her in the birth order of the younger gods?
In the Library of Apollodoros Dione is Zeus's third consort (after Hera and Themis) so Aphrodite is one of his eldest children. Assuming that all the children of Hera (Hebe, Eileithyia, Ares) and Themis (Eirene, Eunomia, Dike, Klotho, Lachesis, Atropos) were born before Zeus took Dione as his partner, then Aphrodite would be at most his 10th child, older than gods like Persephone, Athena, Apollo, Artemis and Hermes. Pseudo-Hyginus' genealogical lists in the Fabulae can be all over the place, but he lists Jupiter's divine children in this order: Venus (by Dione), Mars (by Juno), Minerva (by himself), the Graces (by Eurynome), Juventas and Libertas (by Juno), the Horai (by Themis), Proserpina (by Ceres), the Muses (by Moneta), Pandia (by Luna), Mercurius (by Maia), Apollo and Diana (by Latona). So here Aphrodite appears to be his first child. In Diodoros of Sicily, Library of History 5.72.5 we get this list: "To Zeus also were born, they say, the goddesses Aphroditê and the Graces, Eileithyia and her helper Artemis, the Hours, as they are called, Eunomia and Dikê and Eirenê, and Athena and the Muses, and the gods Hephaestus and Ares and Apollo, and Hermes and Dionysus and Heracles." Of course the order may be more or less arbitrary and they might not be supposed to be arranged in chronological order in this list, but whatever the case, Aphrodite is mentioned first.
I do prefer her to be older than the other children of Zeus who are members of the dodekatheon at least, as a nod to her alternative origins as offspring of Ouranos on one hand and to the theory that Dione (or a goddess she derives from) might have been the original consort of Zeus on the other.

Part 2 of A Gaylor interpretation of "The Prophecy"
I had more Thoughts™ that I initially left out for length, but I'd like to elaborate in sections. Special thanks to @mamataylovesrubbi for being so friendly. This community is so lovely.
TW: Brief talk of self-destructive behavior and suicide near the end.
Part 1 here
Overblown Analysis Under the Cut ↓
Artemis/Diana
Some things about Artemis/Diana that I left out of part one I left out were that 1) Artemis is also the goddess of the hunt and animals. I think that tidbit adds to the fable connection, as fables are often stories about animals. When it comes to the hunt, songs like WAOLOM and The Albotros possibly being about Taylor planning revenge on her closet-ers really scream huntress. Artemis can also become a deer, a somewhat surprisingly non-vicious animal for a huntress, if she pleases. "I've been the Archer / I've been the prey." I think this could portray Taylor's strengths and weaknesses. 2) Artemis is a virginal goddess, never having any male lovers in her stories. This doesn't necessarily make Artemis a sapphic goddess, even though I've seen that interpretation, but it's pretty telling that Taylor would align so closely to a goddess with that trait. 3) Artemis/Diana was also the goddess of the moon (somewhat, it's a bit complicated, but that's Greek mythology for you). Fits the themes of Midnights, with Taylor being Midnight (Rain) and her lover being Sunshine. Though that probably shouldn't be taken too literally, as Apollo, god of the sun, is Artemis's twin brother. Trust him like a brother, yeah—
2. Vocalizing
Taylor's vocalizing after "...tell me it'll be okay" reminds me vaguely of the vocalizing in "My Tears Ricochet", a song, like this album, alludes to Taylor dying.
3. "But I looked to the sky" and "I've been on my knees"
With all the talk of sky, I wonder if maybe "Bigger Than The Whole Sky" might be about failed coming outs. I don't know if this is something others thought have already (probably), but I never thought of it before. Meanwhile, the repeat of being on her knees makes me think of "Would've, Could've, Should've". I've mentioned before that I'm open to that song being actually about JM because it wouldn't surprise me if she tried dating dudes in some way early on in her career, whatever that would mean. However, I'm open to alternatives too. With my analysis of Taylor's Eve being bitten by the serpent/Devil, maybe the serpent could be the Devil from "Would've, Could've, Should've". Maybe the Devil could be The Professor from my "The Manuscript" analysis. I'm leaning toward that Devil being her old label.
4. Throttle
A throttle is several things. It can be something to give machinery fuel. It can be a verb, you can throttle something, aka kill it by strangulation. By "hand on the throttle," I think Taylor was saying she was ready to not only fuel/validate her truth, but kill her past lives. I get this vibe that TTPD might be for TS12 what Reputation was for Lover. Just like with Rep, she's killing the old Taylor(s) that hid her queerness before she steps into the daylight with what comes after. Makes me understand all the chockers and high-neck collars she's been sporting for this era.
5. "And it was written"
I feel like I grazed over this part of the line a bit. What was written? It could be Taylor's lyrics or her 100 thrown-out speeches. She wrote them, but wasn't heard anyway, cursed. Or it could be the word written in the Bible. (In my opinion, shit) translations of the Bible call for all kinds of things to happen to queer people, and has so for years. Not that many though because the word homosexual didn't even exist when the Bible was first scribed. Taylor was cursed before she was even born. Possibly like Eve. Didn't Eve have control over whether she ate the fruit or not? Do queer people have control in who they love? Christian will debate forever.
6. "Let it once be me"
One reason why Taylor wasn't out from the get-go obviously has to do with where her career began and under what industry she was entering. An underaged, famous, sapphic country singer sounds a bit wild now honestly, imagine in 2006! The world would not have been ready, unfortunately. But why can't Taylor come out now? Well, in "WAOLOM", Taylor sneers, "I am what I am 'cause you trained me". She was raised to closet for her whole career, maybe even longer, who could know? And of course, "Old habits die screaming" (from "The Black Dog"). After this album, however, I feel like she's gearing up to free herself. Still, there are so many people younger than Taylor who come out super casually, like Reneé Rapp, Girl in Red, etc, without games or clear fear. Taylor probably sees them and wonders why she couldn't have/had that freedom. Maybe when she says specifically, "redo the prophecy" rather than "change the prophecy" she wishes she could go back in time and somehow make it so she could've come onto the scene out and proud way back then.
7. "like fools in a fable / Oh, it was sinking in"
I think Taylor started feeling like she'd never be free as she began to write Folklore. Of course, she knew the plan didn't work before that in 2019, but as she created Folklore and Evermore, she realized she was anywhere near where she wanted to be in 2020, playing the same games. It sunk in with that. That's why Folklore, Evermore, and even some Midnights songs can sound so hopeless. As an LSK, I don't believe it was due to a breakup, but more closeting. All the albums after Lover seem to have minimal color because she can't be herself.
8. "My last coin"
So, I mentioned in part one that Taylor had/has referenced self-inflicting harmful actions towards herself in many songs. She also mentions poison in this song. It got me thinking about Romeo and Juliet and how that play goes. Taylor, with the "Poison blood from the wound of the pricked hand" seems to be combining Romeo and Juliet's death, Juliet getting stabbed or "pricked" and Romeo drinking poison. Maybe this symbolizes that, even though when she was younger, more naïve and optimistic, she exclusively identified with Juliet and changed her ending in "Love Story", now she identifies with both Romeo and Juliet, even sometimes taking on the "male" role in her songs (e.g. The Heartbreak Prince and JaMEs). A part of me wonders if that could be a comment on her gender identity too, but that goes a bit over my skill level to analyze. But it feels sad that Taylor used to change the fates of Romeo and Juliet and now she's honest about what happens to them. As I said before, I want nothing but good for Taylor. it will be okay. 🤍 ✌️🌈
Alrighty, I think I got it all out of me. Watch me think of some more shit with this song. 🙄😅

The DC/Marvel Crossover server is proud to present our summer Pool Noodle Party! Celebrating the rarest crossover pairs, both platonic and romantic. Courtesy of this post about ships that are too small to count as ships:

For our purposes, a “pool noodle” is a relationship tag that comes up with less than 30 hits on Ao3. Platonic (&) relationships count! Any and all crossover pairings with under 30 existing fics are welcome.
We have six themes. Each theme will have a week for posting creations and a week for celebrating — giving feedback and leaving comments. We’ll share everything that was created the previous week and try to spread the love, but also post rec lists of our favorite older fics that fit the theme.
For anybody who's interested in creating fanworks for existing fic, we'll be posting a list (soon) of fics whose authors have given permission for podfic, moodboards, art, and playlists inspired by their work!
Themes are relatively loose, so your ship might fit multiple themes — that’s fine! Entirely up to you when you post.
Check out the prompt lists! Keep in mind that fics do not have to fit a particular prompt, only the general theme for the week they're posted. These are just for inspiration.

An Alternative Interpretation of Pseudo-Apollodorus' Bibliotheca 1. 21 - The Birth of Artemis and Apollo
The following is not meant to be taken as holy writ or a universal truth believed by all Hellenic Polytheists, but instead as a Temple Teaching - as well as an alternate interpretation/reinterpretation of Pseudo-Apollodorus' account of the birth of Artemis and Apollo.
"Of the daughters of Koios (Coeus), Asteria in the form of a quail threw herself into the sea while fleeing a sexual union with Zeus. A polis was originally named Asteria after her : later on it became Delos. The other daughter Leto had relations with Zeus, for which she was hounded by Hera all over the earth. She finally reached Delos and gave birth to Artemis, who thereupon helped her deliver Apollon." - Pseudo-Apollodorus, Bibliotheca 1. 21
Historical & Academic Context:
According to our research, this passage from the Bibliotheca appears to be the only mythic account in which Artemis is explicitly described as being born before Apollo. It may also be the only narrative that recounts Artemis acting as midwife to Lêto during Apollo's birth. When examining this unique narrative, it's important to remember that Hellenic Polytheism has no "bible" - no singular source of myth that establishes "cannon" or "correct" interpretation. The mythic traditions that have trickled down to us through history are sometimes consistent - but more often than not are contradictory. There is no "right" or "wrong"; there is simply variation in faith and belief.
Something that accentuates this point is the fact that Apollo's mythos did not always position him as Artemis' twin. Historical and anthropological evidence suggests that Apollo was worshipped independently of Artemis before the twin narrative emerged.
"In some of these local traditions Apollo is mentioned alone, and in others together with his sister Artemis." - Theoi.com
Temple Teachings & Mythic Interpretation:
At The Temple of Hyacinthus has chosen to align our Temple's teachings with this particular passage from the Bibliotheca, but through an alternative interpretation of the text quoted above.
In our interpretation, Artemis and Apollo are not twins - but the same entity.
When Apollo was born to Lady Lêta - he was given the name of Artemis and regarded as a Goddess. She was granted domains such as hunting, the wilderness, and wild animals - domains that honored Diana Nemorensis, whose moonlight illuminated Lady Lêta during childbirth. However, as time went on, Artemis came to understand that she was in fact - not a Goddess of the Moon, but a God of the Sun. Then, with the love and blessing of his mother and father, he assisted in the "birth" of Apollo. Thus, Lord Apollo emerged: a deity who was born and given a name, only to be reborn by his own hands. A transmasculine, transgender, transcendent divinity - and Patron of The Temple of Hyacinthus.
Under this interpretation, one can reattribute the domains, myths, and practices associated with Artemis to Diana Nemorensis, the primordial Italic Goddess, while still holding space for Lord Apollo's story as a transgender God.

wanting to put my druidic path in a predominantly Celtic (continental Celtic as well as Old British to be exact.. sorry Irish Ancestors.) path so i've been through the help of the internet, coming up with constructed names for the roman deities, and coming up with syncretizations either through history or UPG. For Diana - Adruinna/Louna/Adsagsona Arduinna being the manifestation of the huntress and wilderness Diana, Louna being Luna, and Adsagsona (who we know very little of other than she's a cthonic witching goddess) for Trivia. As for Diana-Nemorensis, she appears to me as Nemetona. For Apollo (this is where it gets really messy) - Grannus is the name I call upon in regards to healing, and I call on Grannus alongside Sirona. In regards to Apollo as the Aradian-Lucifer, I feel that Lugus and Endovelicus both could fill that role. Though Lugus is more associated with Mercury that Apollo, I also tie Lugus to Lugh because of the light aspect. And Both Lucifer and Lugh are known to be mercurial trickster figures. In the fall I usually call to Apollo as Maponos. The Horned One - He's already VERY syncretic in terms of existence, so the name I call him varies based on how he shows himself to me. As the Folk Devil/Witches' Devil, he's usually Lupercus, who through demonization, is syncretized with Lucifer, but historically also Faunus. The Devil as Lightbearer to me is Cunamaglos (who i associate with Lupercus), Lugus, or Endovelicus (through Luciferian ties), and then as King of the Forest(both Folk Devil and Otherwise), Callirius. I dont really click with the name Cernunnos, but alternate spellings like Carneo or Carnonos, or Cernun, resonate a bit more. Cunamaglos also fills the role of my Wolf-Spirit deity in the masculine form. Fauna - Easy enough, Fauna is Druantia. Both the feminine form of the Horned One, and also the personification of Druidry as a whole. She IS Nature personified, and kinda blends with Diana-Nemorensis to form Nemetona. As a fertility and underworld goddess (an epithet i use for Druantia is Bone-Mother, giving her a Cthonic link), she can be Aeracura. Thus giving names such as Druantia, Druantia-Nemetona, and Druantia-Aeracura. Her cthonic form is also linked to her fertility aspect as well, since life and death are two sides of the same coin, which is fitting as Aeracura is historically a cthonic and fertility goddess. I haven't quite figured out where Venus stands in all this, though I'm sure I'll figure it out in time. I also plan to Incorperate Brigantia into my practice, since she's another form of Brigid. I also want to form a relationship with Andraste, and can respark my relationship with An Morrigan/The Raven Queen under the name Cathubodua, which is the first name of hers that really resonated with me. As for Aradia, I Personally don't view Aradia as an external spirit, I feel she exists WITHIN the practicioner, as I view Witches as all of Diana/Adsagsona's children. Though Aradia very well may have been a physical person or deity at some point. I feel Aradia works WITHIN us.

Find Out Your Ceresian Senator Name!
(made with love, the d20 gang put a lot of work into diversifying character names, & as I was doing my etymology post I noticed similarities but no clear formula so I thought I’d write one for funsies)
First Name: The first letter of the street you grew up on (if you didn’t grow up on a street feel free to use a town/city name, or a landmark!).
I included alternates for gender reasons - a/o means the name can end with either a or o depending on your preference, e.g. Emilio vs Emilia. You can probably also throw an -e at the end of some of them if (like me) you wanna be a bit nonbinary about it.
A - Aurelius (Adria, Andrea) B - Bianca (Bacchus, Basilla) C - Cara (Cassius, Camila/o) D - Dominic (Donatella/o, Daniela) E - Emanuel (Emanuela, Emilia/o, Eduardo) F - Francisco (Fabrizia/o, Fiero) G - Giuseppe (Graciela, Gio) H - Hercules (Hero, Hermes) I - Ignazia/o (Imelda, Isabella) J - Jupiter (Jiovanni, Juno) K - Katarina (Kronos, Celeste) L - Lorenzo (Luca, Loretta) M - Marco (Messina, Manuela) N - Nunzio (Natalia, Nico) O - Oliverio (Ouranos, Roberta/o) P - Patrizia/o (Paula/o, Pallas) Q - Quirinus (Pietro, Ricarda/o) R - Rizzo (Rafaela/Rafael, Renata) S - Silvio (Sabina/e, Serafina/o) T - Titian (Tullia/o, Terra) U - Ulysses (Urania/Uranus, Rosetta) V - Valentina/o (Venus, Vesta, Vesuvio) W - Luigi (Mario, Rosalina) X - Xanto (Romeo, Diana, Apollo) Y - Ylenia (Saturn/Saturnus, Minerva) Z - Zappa (Mars, Melete, Diana)
Last name: The last letter of your favorite food
A - Bucatini B - Capellini C - Bavette D - Matriciani E - Pappardelle F - Scialatelli G - Spaghettini H - Tagliatelle I - Trenetti J - Vermicelli K - Anelli L - Cascatelli M - Castellane N - Cavatappi O - Farfalle P - Garganelli Q - Passatelli R - Paccheri S - Rigatoni T - Strozzapretti U - Testaroli V - Cannelloni W - Agnolini X - Cappaletti Y - Fagottini Z - Sacchettoni
Voila! Now just put “Senator” (or another Roman govt position if you want) in front of it. I’m Senator Andrea Trenetti!
I also did some optional funsies for those of us with dice we never get to use:
Roll 1d20
If it lands on a 1, you are straight up a loaf of bread. use the Bread Table under the cut
If it lands on a 2-10, you are a pasta dish. Use the last name chart for your first name, and use the Pasta Dish Table under the cut for your last
If you roll a nat 20, you are may choose b/w
a popular snack food. Use the Snack Table under the cut
.
you can also use the first name chart and use the snack table for your last name if you want
a Ceresian folk deity. not a senator anymore, but arguably funnier. Use the Deity Table under the cut
otherwise, use tables above as normal.
In The Ravening War, all of the senators also got “tribune” titles like “Tribune of Triscutia” - if you want one of those, you can either:
Use the last name table but use first letter of your favorite food
Use either the Bread, Pasta Dish, or Snack table under the cut
Bread Table
Roll 1d12 or use your birth month
1. Panettone (you have a little Candian on your mother’s side of the family) 2. Muffuletta 3. Pane rustico 4. Panino 5. Pita 6. Tortano 7. Baguette 8. Ciambella 9. Fugassa 10. Friselle 11. Crescentina 12. Boule
Pasta Dish Table
Roll 1d20 or how many mozzarella sticks do you think you could eat in one sitting? (if you can’t eat mozzarella sticks imagine carrot sticks instead)
1. Arrabiatta 2. Amatriciana 3. Bolognese 4. Capresi 5. Bottarga 6. Indiavolati 7. Siracusani 8. Scarpariello 9. Boscaiola 10. Fagioli 11. Lucchesi 12. di Mare 13. Napoletana 14. Puttanesca 15. Ragu 16. Sorrentina 17. Tartufo 18. Valtellina 19. Zucca 20. Cacio-pepe
Snack Table
Roll 1d6, or rate the last movie you saw from 0-5 stars (or 1-6 if you don’t want to do math)
Tostito(s)
if you like you can also use Fritos or Dorito(s)
Chex (you can add a last name that describes the kind of Chex if you want)
Pepperidge (like Pepperidge farms)
Ritz
Kellogg (you can add a last name that describes the kind of Kellogg’s food item if you want)
General Mills
you can forgo the “Senator” title if you so chose and just be “General Mills”
the ancient Roman govt Ceresia is based on had a lot of interplay between the military and the government so like. Generals still have govt. sway.
you could also just be “Senator Mills”
Deity Table
Roll 1d6 or tbh just pick which one you like they’re all fun
you are now known as Ben the Original, but you have never forgotten your past life as Uncle Ben.
you are Little Miss Sunbeam, a maiden goddess of light and happiness
you are the Triple God, the Holy Trinity, and your aspects are Snap, Crackle, and Pop
you are a Keebler elf, one of a large family of forest spirits hidden deep in the mountains on the border of Candia and Ceresia
you are Umaemon, an otherworldly cat-like being with unknowable powers and dual aspects of both cat and human.
you are the Pillsbury Doughboy.

So I thought the Titanesses would be a good side plot for the Romans (main continuity) OR the Wonder Fam in the DC crossover, and looked them up on the PJO wiki. Very brief rundown:
Rhea (Queen of the Titans, Mother of the Gods) stayed out of it, and for the sake of the Donna Troy panel in my cross over or just because of their domains in the main continuity, so did Themis (Titaness of Justice, amongst other things) and Mnemosyne (Titaness of Memory) did as well.
Leto, Apollo and Artemis 's mother and Titaness of Motherhood and... Demurity(?) probably did too. I can't see her going against the twins, given how Apollo talks about her in TOA, and Apollo has a vision of her trying to intervene with Zeus on her behalf. I can't imagine she could even do that if she had actively betrayed him.
We do know she's reforming in Tartarus in House of Hades, but she's back not long after that for TOA rather than trapped with the rest of Gaia's supporters. Whatever happened might have just been her getting caught in the crossfire or something unrelated.
Then we have Theia, Hyperion's wife and Titaness of Splendor. I haven't independently researched her, but maybe a potential candidate for Kronos's side.
The PJO wiki also credits her with the domain of "Clear Sight" and loving "clear views" and "sparkly things". So bribery+ humans destruction of nature as a motivation maybe?
I don't think Eos, Titaness of the Dawn is getting involved if her siblings, Selene and Helios, are faded. But maybe 🤷♀️ Maybe she wants revenge for her siblings being supplanted. She also has a history with Aphrodite.
We have Asteria, Titaness of Starry Night and Prophetic Dreams. You would think "Prophetic Dreams" would tell her how things are going, but, hey, Apollo still does dumb things. The wiki goes with Hesiod's account of her being Hecate's mother, rather than Nyx, so maybe she joined for her daughter's sake. It sounds mildly more plausible as amotivation than "light pollution", which is the best alternative I could think of.
Tethys is the wife of Oceanus, Titaness of Seas and Freshwater. She's purportedly kind, but if her husband was tempted until he joined Kronos, maybe she followed out of loyalty.
Maybe she's slightly conflicted and is the one to defy both the Olympians and Kronos to reveal to Diana what's going on in the DC crossover. It would work best if it was during or just before the whole Typhoon thing, not long before the Battle of Manhattan.
Then the last we have is Aura, Titaness of the Breezes, who gets no info on the PJO wiki... but a quick google search shows that's likely because what little exists (from a Greek poet, but in the age of the Romans) it's very not middle grade material. TW for Rape if you google it. Anyway, she has actually pretty decent reasons to try and kill Dionysus and Artemis if any of that carries over to PJO's version. I don't love the story, but Rick kept Agrius and Oreius, so.
So I think plausibly, we end up with Asteria, Theia, Aura, Tethys, and maybe Eos as possible extra antagonists in the background of the PJO Titan war.
Maybe Mnemosyne if you aren't being influenced by crossover plans like I am, but I feel like the effects of her hostility would have been very, very notable.
We also don't have an accounting for what Koios (Farsight, Intellect, and Knowledge, the North) did during the war, but he was on Gaia's side later, so he can also be used as needed for plot reasons.
#for the question mark by Leto I know what demure means its just such a weird domain#percy jackon and the olympians#percy jackson#PJO#the titan army

titian's- the death of actaeon
1559-75, oil on canvas, 178.8 × 197.8 cm, The National Gallery
The Death of Actaeon is based on Ovid’s poem Metamorphoses. The story behind it involves Acaeton disturbing Diana and her nymphs at their secret bathing place, in response she splashes him with water and threatens him to tell the world what he seen, Ovid wrote. Titian paints the scene after, of Acaeton fleeing from Diana however she has already transformed him into a stag. In the painting, Acaeton is still mid transformation, his body still being human while occupying a deer head. He is no longer able to speak. His own hounds strike at him.
Titians materials remained the same throughout , but his way of use and techniques developed, he took on more of a bolder and freer approach in his work, revealing textures and leaving parts of his paintings in different stages of completion. I quite like the idea of using the same materials but applying them in different ways in order to receive an alternate product.
His technique in painting provides dynamism and movement into his work, something that I could apply to my own work. You can see how the dogs are running right at Acaeton. He executes this through their legs such as the dog beside Diana its legs are quite fuzzy or blurred, not fully refined detailed legs, or the dogs attacking Acaeton, it is also blurred but you can see multiple of legs with not a full clear connection which one connected to what dog.
What I also like about this work is the subject matter itself, I haven't seen this scene painted ever from Ovid's poem Metamorphoses. I'm only aware mostly of Apollo and Daphne. The transformation of Acaeton is really interesting and cool. The mix of animal and human body links to the other artist I researched into, Nicola Hicks.

The Daughters of Rome
The Daughters of Rome https://ift.tt/EG36JTp by The Argiletum (weirdoughnut) You’re a loner. The camp never found you, but you survived, anyway. You beat the odds. —The Lost Hero Noemi beat the odds. Which isn’t too impressive since all she does is run, hide, and try not to throw up and cry… but still. Working minimum wage in Jersey is no easy feat, especially when serving unsupervised little girls with lethal arms is just another Tuesday. Especially when—oddia!—rent is due soon. Especially when she’s had no choice but to chase a bloodied secret for six years. She wore her armor and purple cloak as easily as most people wear shorts and a T-shirt. She’d risen to the top. She couldn’t stay hidden. —The Blood of Olympus Reyna feels naked without her armor—and she feels free without her legion. These last three months with her sisters the Hunters are exactly what she’d been needing for the past seventeen years of her life. Hablando claro, becoming immortal has made her feel more human than ever. But she’s the daughter of a vicious goddess. Blood was made to chase her. After Apollo's trials, the Greco-Roman demigods finally face an era of peace. …Oh, come on. You don’t seriously believe that.
