At first I was blind enough watching the teaser to think it was Halbrand so I got a mini stroke.

Pretty sure once we will see Elendil/Miriel kissing too. Of course I do not mind any of these kisses happening, I even ship some of them but still these are not something the whole fandom is waiting for.

There is literally only one kiss EVERYONE is expecting. Not only the haladriel shippers, but everyone (some might want it to happen, some might not, but it would not be a surprise for anyone) since in fact nobody has ever asked for Saurondriel in the first place, it was totally up to the showrunners to literally just start pushing this ship into our throats from their first meeting using all scrupulously planned moments between them throughout the season 1 and countless hints and moments of nostalgia in the season 2! God, they even invented the whole Mirdania character just to prove Sauron´s feelings (and of course to show his cruelty later, but thats not the point)

My knowledge of publishing is scanty but I think Simon & Schuster gets “right of first refusal” meaning they get dibs on Strange Fate since they published the rest of the series.  If they don’t want to take a chance on it… what?  Will Ms. Smith be free to shop around to other publishers or self-publish?  Or could S&S sit on the book without putting it out?  I don’t know.  Anybody in this fandom work in publishing? We need you!

Anyway, phoning up Simon & Schuster to see if they have anything in their system seems like a not-too-stalkerish thing we might do in the future.

I’m trying not to get my hopes up.  It seems totally possible that publishers will look at Strange Fate and go, “A sequel to this totally forgotten thing from 30 years ago?  That you need to have read all these 90s books to understand?  That is totally non-diverse and not on trend at all?  Written by some old biddy who isn’t in touch with today’s YA readers?  Nah, we don’t want it.”  But dangit, Ms. Smith is closer to getting it out than she’s ever been before and I’m rooting for her so hard… even if I’m not going to really believe it until the books are in my hands.

The website also has contact info for Ms. Smith: lisa@theljsmith.com  We can write to her! I feel like I should, I gotta work out what to say!

The about page includes the factoid that Ms. Smith is an anime nerd.  I wonder what series!  Well her pup is named Arslan, so we know one of them!

The FAQ I believe is questions we have seen before on the old site.  The books and fanart are also familiar.

The Short Stories page is where things get interesting.  Are some of the stories new?  Some are definitely missing.  I never paid as much attention as I should’ve to the short stories, and then the website came and went… there are some stories by “Jessa-lyn Kemp” aka “staff writer Jessica Sherman” that are definitely new.  Secret Circle stuff.  It looks like a fan? Friend? Employee? Of Ms. Smith’s is helping create content. Good!

Someone who’s not about to spend the evening watching British Baking with their mother can pull up the old website and the new one and compare stories.  I think the Strange Fate related stories are gone, because they’ve been incorporated into the books.

And then there’s the blog.

Ms. Smith comin’ in hot, barely back on the internet saying she loves AI art!  Which is, like, one of the top ten ways to get people on the internet to yell at you, so brave choice there!

Please, nobody yell at LJ Smith.  ^^;

Looking at the website Ms. Smith has used AI to clean up pictures of herself and even with the computer’s enhancements we can see that illness did a number on our poor author.  She is gaunt!  This is also the first time we’ve really seen many pictures of her, for years there was only the one.  She’s got gorgeous hair.  The other pictures are of characters from her books, and...

I'm also a writer who can't draw, and when I got a chance to play with picture AI I immediately made it make pictures of my characters and it was a really emotional experience. Like I was getting choked up. So while intellectually I know all the reasons AI is bad and there are a lot of them, that emotional punch of seeing people I knew so well but never thought my eyes would see is really powerful.

AND!  As if this Hogswatch miracle hasn’t given us more than we were ever expecting, there’s a blog post all about Strange Fate with new information and I am just falling out of my chair with excitement… but this post is long enough and Mom and I are up to pastry week on British Baking, so that will be a post for another day.

Masterlist

Time passes as time does. Weeks turn into months since the day Dracule stumbled upon your island. He visits when he can, usually staying three or four days at a time, every couple of weeks. During that time, you and Mihawk have grown closer, to the point that the two of you were in each other's thoughts at every waking moment. There was nothing in this world that would keep Dracule away from his Snow Angel. 

Today Dracule had a rather unusual gift, so his ship was packed with the things necessary to take care of it. Dracule dearly hoped that you would like this one. He surely did not. Or maybe it didn't like him. 

As the months passed by, Dracule gifted you many things, some for you and some for your home. The three chickens, one rooster, and two hens had arrived not long after Mihawk had figured out your true heritage. Your garden expanded another four plots to accommodate all of the new seeds and saplings the warlord brought you. He had even gone so far as to help you build a pen for the goat Dracule had brought along on one memorable trip. The poor man had not been happy and made you help him clean his ship. 

The best gift of all was being able to finally meet Perona after weeks of speaking over the phone. The pink girl had quickly become your closest female friend, and it felt incredible to have someone to speak to about the girlier things in your life. There were some subjects that Mihawk just didn't get. 

Thankfully, Mihawk arrives at your island before he decides to toss your gift overboard. He gathers his things and then flashes off the ship, making sure the ocean doesn't touch the wiggling body in his arms. Golden eyes glare up at him and he glares right back down, and the warlord swears this thing is worse than the goat. Dracule can hear music pouring out of the cottage when he gets close enough. 

And then there suddenly appears before me 

The only one my arms will ever hold

I heard somebody whisper “Please adore me” 

And when I looked, the moon had turned to gold

Mihawk huffs at the lyrics. His timing was far too good. The closer he gets, he begins to hear your voice as well, and Dracule would much rather hear you sing to him than some man who is long dead. He would stand and listen if his gift wasn't threatening to claw his eyes out. 

The warlord steps through the open door of the cottage, and his shoulder slumps as soon as he enters the humble abode. This place is his home away from home, and it never fails to bring him peace. 

Dracule finds you in the back storage room, a crate full of the older and unneeded stuff you had lying around. After not having anything but the couch for Perona to sleep over on, you had decided that it was about time to clean out the back room for her. Or anyone else that didn’t want to kill you first thing when they washed up on your island.

He leans in the doorway, watching you finish up dumping a broken oar into the crake. Mhawk knows that you see him when you jump and turn to look at him with narrowed eyes and a cute little sneer. 

“Bastard. You scared me,” you grumble and then you cross the floor to carefully slide his hat off, holding it to the side as your free hand slides into his hair and brings him down for a sweet kiss, “Welcome home, dear.”

Mihawk hums into the kiss, gently nipping your bottom lip, and then sliding his tongue inside your mouth when you open up for him. You taste like sweet chamomile, and it leaves a soft smile on his face when he pulls away to gaze down at you, “It is good to be back, Angel.” 

The two of you share several more sweet kisses before the wriggling bundle in his arms finally gets your attention. You pull away and look down to see a very angry feline staring up at you. You break immediately at the sight of its pitiful gold gaze and hand Mihawk his hat back so that you can scoop the kitten up.  

“Where did you find him?” You ask and have already abandoned Mihawk in favor of giving the orange tabby in your arms all of your attention. The kitten purrs happily when you scratch behind his ears. 

Dracule glares at the creature, and the kitten glares right back from where it is happily curled up against your breasts. Mihawk doesn’t know how much he likes this idea anymore. 

“I stopped for a resupply before I came here. There was a fishmonger that had chased it off, and I knew that you would give it a good home,” Mihawk explains. He sighs when you baby talk at the kitten, not giving half the attention he deserves for bringing the little demon to you, but your happiness was definitely worth it, “I have what you’ll need to care for it in my ship.” 

The grin you grant him is worth it too, and Dracule can’t help himself when he crosses the room to press you against the wall, lips connecting with yours in a kiss a little more fierce than the ones earlier. Mihawk has missed you, far more than usual for some reason. You moan into his mouth, eyes sliding shut when Dracule slides a hand around your jaw, angling you just how he likes.

A loud yowl interrupts the two of you, and Mihawk pulls away to sneer down at the kitten who proceeds to hiss at him. You laugh, seeing his jealousy clear as day, and over a cat of all things!

“I guess we should name him, huh?” You say and it’s your turn to be on the receiving end of that sneer. You scoff at him and lift the kitten, dangling him in front of Dracule, “You found him, so you get to name him.”

Dracule scoffs and turns on his heel, stripping off his coat to hang on the mantlepiece, quickly followed by his hat, “He is your cat, so you are the one naming the demon,” He dismisses and stalks to the kitchen, but you only pout and follow after him. 

“Nu-uh. That’s not how this works. You saved him, you name him.” You weren’t about to back down on this. The kitten mewls and you snuggle it back to your front, tucking the fuzz ball under your chin. 

Mihawk ignores you in favor of pouring himself a glass of wine and snacking on the green grapes you must have harvested earlier today. He feels you slide up beside him, and chances a glance down to see his darling staring up at him with wide, pleading eyes, “Ugh. Fine. Give me a moment to think.” 

You cheer at your victory and patiently wait for Dracule to decide on a name. He does you the courtesy of actually thinking of a name and smirks when he settles on a proper name for the hellspawn.

“Sukuna,” Mihawk decides and you repeat the name, getting a feel for it. You don’t know the story behind the name, but it must be an interesting one with the way Mihawk is smirking at the kitten. 

“I think that’s a good name,” You agree and scratch Sukuna’s little ears again, melting when the kitten only purrs louder and snuggles close. You giggle when you catch Mihawk glaring at the kitten again, “Let’s find Hank. I think he’ll like his new friend.” 

Hank turned out to not like his new housemate very much. Sukuna had taken one look at the big hound and had puffed up, long fur bristling so much that he resembled nothing but a cotton ball. Hank had run from the tiny ball of anger straight to Mihawk, cowering behind the man, and whining whenever Sukuna got too close. 

“Nothing but a coward,” Dracule says, but he is already kneeling to give into Hank’s puppy dog eyes and give him some pets. Sukuna stalks from one end of the room to the other, fluffy tail straight up in the air as he surveys his new home. 

Mihawk straightens up when he sees you approaching. You settle in his lap, hands cradling his handsome face as you lean in to press your lips to his brow. Mihawk grasps you by the hips, tugging you flush against his front and holding you close. He noses along your jaw, “Are you happy with your gift, sweet thing?” He rumbles quietly. 

You nod, “Very happy, Mihawk,” you assure him and settle more fully in his lap, letting the man under you take your weight. He massages your hips, causing a soft sigh to slip from between your lips, “I missed you.”

“Did you, Darling?” Mihawk breathes and pulls you down to press his lips to yours for half a second, “What all did you do while I was gone? I see that you already started to clean up, even though I told you to wait for me.” 

You shrug helplessly, “I couldn’t help it. I was really bored, and we already decided what needed to be thrown out, so,” You trail off and lean forward to snuggle against his chest, “You can help in the garden later?” 

Mihawk huffs and presses a kiss to your hair. He watches as Sukuna chases after Hank’s tail, lips twisting in satisfaction to see the two animals getting along better. His arms tighten around you, and you have relaxed completely in his grasp. 

“Whatever you wish, dear one.” Dracule agrees and says nothing when he feels you grin against his neck.

I'm so sorry if you've already been asked this, but what are some unusual/unpopular opinions you have about Ghosts? And can I vent a few of mine please?!

I'd probably be friends with Jay and Sam in real life, but as characters I'm surprisingly indifferent to them. The show needs humans, of course I get that, but the ghosts of Ghosts are all MUCH more interesting and entertaining to me than our token humans ;) They just don't have very well defined personalities to me, especially past the first season. If Jay and Sam left Woodstone for good and it was taken over by Bela, or by Mark and his cute son, or by some other people we've never met---I'd honestly be fine with that. I'd miss the occasional references to Jay's adorably nerdy hobbies, but that's about it. (And before anyone yells at me---hopefully it comes through that I'm not at all a Jay or Sam HATER! I'm not even a Jay or Sam disliker :) They just don't capture my interest one way or the other)

I often see Thor mentioned as the ghost that people would most want sucked off and therefore off the show, but I actually really like him, especially when they touch on his gazillion year connections with Hetty or Sas! Flower and Pete are the two I could most happily do without, with Isaac right behind them.

I don't care if Nisaac ever reunites even though I know they will because those are the TV rules. It's not like they're a notp of mine, but I'm not personally invested at all. I don't think Isaac ever really loved Nigel, and I'd prefer to see them both meet other people.

I would much rather have a GhostPet around than a human baby when/if Jay and Sam inevitably have one. I'm obviously a horrible person :) Seriously, babies are adorable but just tend not to make for very interesting plotlines!

This is such an awesome question! And depending on the day or recent episodes where things drive me crazy, and I'm not sure that I know the fandom well enough to know if these are unpopular BUT here are some thoughts I think are unpopular.

I agree with you on Sam and Jay - I love them, I do - but if I'm honest, they're just kind of *there* especially Jay, who does a lot for the ghosts, but never gets credit for it. Sam is a just a vehicle for crazy ghosts shenanigans, and she honestly NEEDS to put her foot down. Right now, she just kind of does for them because they're her family, but like... it's *a lot* that they ask and expect from her, and because she's a doormat for them - it doesn't make her very interesting. Like I'm not all that interested in Sam's storylines and I like the restaurant, but have they COMPLETELY forgotten about the B&B that should be successful before the whole restaurant thing. They're very depending on the day for me.

TBH, when it comes to Thor, I wish they spent more time on *him* and his years with possible watching over people at the Mansion rather than his romantic connection to Flower - like Thorapy 2 should of happened BEFORE the Vday date in S2, work on the character first before introducing that. (But my UO will come up after looking at yours).

2B - After all this Isaac stuff, I really really want him to disappear. I was never his biggest fan but now I'm just like overdosed on him and don't like him that much. I 100% agree about Flower. I also could do without Nigel (or Nancy). Depending on my mood, I'm not Hetty's biggest fan either, BUT I really wish they'd focus on the family bond with her and Sam and I might like her more.

(technically, point 3). I never really cared for Nisaac, so I agree. They were cute for like 10 seconds, but tbh, even before they technically got together, Nigel was pushing him and he never really cared to get to know the other ghosts - and then they get together and he's not great to Thor, blackmails Isaac's best friend, and moves in without consulting Sam and Jay. Like DUDE. So I agree with you. I also agree that Isaac was infatuated with Nigel as the first guy he's let himself date and they both need other options.

(4) OMG YES. I don't want a baby AT ALL and a ghost pet would be so much more fun!

Now onto my UO:

This should be obvious but I feel like people are TOO hard on Trevor. He made some comments early on, but is it really any different to the other ghosts? The way Isaac or Pete talk about Jay, the way Alberta talks about Mark ... it's like, it's not really different and it bugs me - especially when he was 'doing better' in S2 and then Alberta, Sam, and Hetty all basically told him that it's expected so he should. Also the commentary on his pants will never not be annoying especially given we know what happened.

I Don't like the Mark is Sexist Manipulation. He's been a good man and Jay's only friend and you're messing with him rather than telling him the truth? I don't find it funny but people find it hilarious.

I didn't like the forgiveness given to Sam's Dad and Jay's parents (particularly Champa) have been assholes to Sam. It's not cool to have a family group chat for years without your son's wife.

I wish they hadn't established what TV rules indicate to be as the endgame couples in S1 - in fact, I wish they had never done the couples AT ALL until they've worked on the characters themselves, first.

Followup, I go back and forth on the couples, I know they're going to be a thing, but honestly, not only can I do without them at all, I really wish they'd stop focusing on them / acting like some couples are practically soulmates (cough Florfinn cough) or other couples are terrible and the house should be able to stop them (HMoney). Like I said, I prefer no couples, but I don't like how they've gone out of their way for the house to support Flower/Thor but actively work against Hetty/Trevor. And this isn't because I've written the latter pairing, because I've gone back and forth on them, but because it SUCKS to have your family/friends root against your happiness.

I wish they'd done more with the roommate situation and the fact that you had such opposites rooming together, but instead, it's just *there* to bring out when someone wants more.

I wish they focused on the friendships as well. There's so much that you can develop with regards to these people that are/have been stuck together for so long, but are so different.

I think it's weird that Jay hasn't developed a friendship with Trevor using the iPad, or Alberta using the Alexa, or even Thor using y/n light flicker method. But particularly Trevor. Also, Sass using his power to manipulate Jay rather than be his friend is more than a little gross and I feel like Jay should feel some type of way about it instead of shrugging and saying 'we can be friends now'.

Lastly, 'cause this is long, if the ghosts weren't stuck there, I 100% think they would CHOOSE to stay. Like I wrote a 'Ghosts suddenly Alive' AU and like people were disappointed that the ghosts wanted to leave (and that I left Nigel stuck as a ghost), but honestly, I can't imagine anything else for them. They were STUCK there, but I don't know that they are truly the found family we want them to be - that they wouldn't (especially the ones with their families alive) go running to their families to be with them and would stay with the other ghosts makes no sense.

I'm genuinely/morbidly curious friend: What kind of toxicity have you encountered in Mecha Fandom spaces?

Truth be told, I'm mostly on own my little bubble, actively stirring away from most possible drama, enjoying my old robot series mostly on my own... though, some times, I accidentally convince my friends to give them a watch.😅

So, I'm not familiar with the kind of toxicity brewing there... And it's something I won't ever engage with, because I want for my online spaces to be positive, for my own mental health.

But I'm genuinely/morbidly curious about it nonetheless, because it might helpful to stay away from potentially toxic fandom discourse and other such nonsense.

Ok before I get into it I wanna say I do my best to avoid actual fandom discourse as I’ve seen enough to know how it effects me and also I’m just way too old for it-I say at the age of 21 which is YOUNG but good that I realize now-however it still comes up when I’m around discord servers, I still don’t engage with it but I can’t really step away without leaving friends servers which I don’t want to do unless it gets super bad you know? Muting channels is always a option anyways.

But to answer the question, a lot of mecha discourse boils down to HEAVY elitism. Mecha fans are very defensive of the genre and will find any means to attack people for it. I think the biggest example is anytime Evangelion is brought up, or more specifically the “deconstruction” claim. Where people think Eva is the only mecha with human characters, it is a very dumb take, but how the fandom reacts to it and how it’s effected discussion of Eva is far from a good thing because being fully honest? I never SEE Eva fans try to claim this anymore. I won’t deny there’s probably bad ones with how big Eva is, but I feel like mecha fans didn’t let go of this notion that they use it as justify to hate Eva and it’s perfectly fine if you think it’s overrated if you’ve seen other mechas you like more but it’s not okay to mass harass anyone who likes it yet isn’t even being mean about it, I’ve had people go DIRECTLY to me that “I’m gonna hate Eva fans cause they suck and so does the show”, that is literally more toxic behavior then the Eva fan you made up in your head. I genuinely feel bad for Eva fans who GOT into the mecha genre too cause shock of all shock they do in fact exist, which is why I’m again more skeptical of do people REALLY still claim Eva a deconstruction or are you people refusing to let go of it? (No one wants to admit either that Nadesico gets hit with this claim, by ACTUAL MECHA FANS MIND YOU yet it’s as stupid to say but they will argue, though I won’t get into that either if you haven’t seen it + it pisses me off more then the Eva one)

Genuinely seen the toxicity towards any popular mecha tbh, Gurren and Geass have it bad and Gurren fans get shoved down their throat they need to watch getter when as much as I’d like getter to be acknowledged more, someone who likes Gurren isn’t inclined too and vice versa, given I personally do not care to watch it whatsoever even if my bf trying to convince me so next to being toxic it just be hypocritical of me to shove it down peoples throats, so I simply don’t.

Genuinely mecha discourse can be summarized down to “this sucks watch this instead” and people then get confused why no one wants to watch mecha, next to how these people don’t really do a good job at SELLING why you should past “its historically important to anime!” and I have history anime autism yet I’m not gonna go that far so that’s not needed to enjoy anime, even if people should watch older stuff more. There is a lot more I could go into, I didn't touch the obvious elephant in the room being how most gundam fans act or other specific takes I see with getter but this post is long as is and I think you get the point.

So yeah. You made the right choice not interacting with the fandom, I sadly just can't entirely avoid it.

Silly quirks and facts about me (because i'm bored as hell and have too much shit to do so i cant draw or write) (more under cut)

1- When i read the lyrics to Kimya Dawson's song "Walk Like Thunder" i tear up bc i'm an empath who cares way too much about other people

2- Sometimes i literally just go lay in the road at night because i'm bored and i want to look at the stars and the only way to do that is to get out in the open

3- whenever i have nothing to do i think of things i can make for people (like art for my bf)

4- i like to watch videos of bugs with my bearded dragon because he's an ipad kid and i also like mimicking his head twitches

5- my grandma's last words to me ever were "it was nice to meet you" and i think about that often

6- i think frequently about how far i've come mentally. in 2020 i was on the border of life and death and now i cant even remember the last time i've cried, i still think about everyone i've lost but it doesn't affect me anymore.

7- My favorite thing to do when i'm down is anything downright outrageous, like for example my favorite coping skill of choice is to do clown makeup and take a cold bath while drawing anything i could shitpost

8- sometimes when i'm really enthusiastic or think somethings really funny i take videos of myself ranting and then act like i sent it to my friends so it almost feels like they saw it and understood, i mostly do it with spur of the moment things that i know wont be important in an hour that my brain tells me is crazy

9- i live close to the beaches and every time i go i always end up leaving with a shell in my mouth.. i don't know how but it happens every time without fail

10- i sometimes talk in my sleep.. like full on conversations and arguments and when i wake up i don't remember anything. i've gotten in trouble at home multiple times for yelling at a family. member to shut my door or fuck off while i was still sleeping

11- i feel like everyone has that one unique thing they do with their makeup or clothes, and mine for a while was that i would only put mascara on a bottom clump of eyelashes and point them together so that it looked sorta like a clown makeup thing

12- sometimes if theres a bird or lizard near me outside i sit completely still to see if it will climb on me. or sometimes i smile at it to show it i'm nice i guess

13- sometimes when i get really into a fandom i get a period of time where i'm so abhorrently sad because i know that universe will never be real and i will never be able to hug my favorite fictional characters.

A few years back i had just gotten out of the mental hospital and had some really bad ptsd from the whole experience (i was like 11 at the time and the school i went to lied to me and my parents about where i was going, i had no idea i was going to be gone for 4 days.) i started seeing a therapist who was new for me, i was a bit uncomfortable at first because unbeknownst to everyone i knew at the time i had ptsd from a certain past experience, but he soon became one of the first and only men i trusted.

i would walk into his office and he'd let me have some rootbeer from his personal stash, then i'd sit and watch the news and walk in for my appointment. One day he pulls this tiger statue off the shelf in his office and says "do you want to hear how i got this?" and me being the curious kid i was, i said absolutely.

There had been a man a county over who was put on death row years ago for murder and theft, and they later had an open house where they sold all his leftover belongings, and among these items was the tiger statue. My doctor thought it would be something fun to buy to start a conversation, and obviously he was right because that's cool as fuck.

Around a year after i started seeing him me and my family got a call that he had died unexpectedly of a heart attack. i was devastated obviously, and began going to my old therapist who i had seen since the age of 10. Now flash forward a few years to 2024 and i was signing up for muay thai classes, and guess what the head coach has all over his gym. the exact same model of tiger statues. like five of them just sprinkled around. i took that as a sign that he was still looking out for me in a way yknow, so yeah i think about that a lot :)

i don't know if i'm being extremely naive or just exposed to the right sort of people in the fandom, and i know that this doesn't make up for the legal consequences he probably (?) won't face, but i truly feel ng is DONE FOR. he's never coming back from this.

i can't think of another situation where such swift action has been taken against an abuser in the absence of a court case/conviction. it feels like everything connected to him has been buried. (i don't know if i have a skewered perspective on this because i'm in a bubble, but still.)

also, with him being a writer, i feel like it's harder for people to come to his books without knowing who he is. and if not, if his work is going to make any kind of impact on you, you're going to find out who he is one way or another. he's not a well established actor who can count on the goodwill of people casually watching his movies and recognising his face (looking at you johnny d*pp).

he's done, his legacy is forever tarnished, i'm not sure any major publisher will ever touch him again, and this gives me some measure of comfort (not that my comfort matters at all in this case, of course).

i felt guilty at the beginning, engaging with go, as i've completely cut out stuff written by other problematic authors before (*problematic* doesn't even begin to cover it...), but i've come to the point where i don't anymore (though i completely understand people who do).

he's never been the sole person behind go, especially so with the tv show. i'm glad there have been consequences (it wouldn't have been/felt right to go ahead as if nothing had happened), but i truly believe that we shouldn't give him the power to ruin any more than he already did. i'm going to steal whatever good has come out of his work from him as though prying something from the hands of a dead man. he can choke. he doesn't get to do this on top of all the heinous things he's already done.

i won't financially engage with his art (which, again, i feel is what really counts here, what is actually going to make a difference) and spread the word about his character, and keep enjoying go, which at this point is more about the community around it than whoever wrote it. even the finale i take as a gift to this community. it is in no way a priority, but he doesn't get to ruin this too.

may his victims get justice and find peace, and may he disappear/his finances crumble so that he won't be able to use them against anyone ever again.

This is such a difficult question to answer, I can’t pick 😭 Pretty much every title that we watch or read or play has a bunch of characters that I adore drawing, but I guess I gravitate towards characters with long hair and unusual hairstyles or outfits?? I also feel the urge to try to draw a character when they are out of my comfort zone, which doesn’t mean that I always do it or good at it, but I always have fun drawing stuff in a different art style (like the guys from Scott Pilgrim),with complicated outfits (like Barok van Zieks) or with mechanic parts (like Ortho!)… but the last one is pretty recent, I just noticed that I kind of enjoy drawing it. I guess I love a challenge? In a way? It’s just more fun that way.

By my comfort type of character and a default option would be a gloomy boy/girl in a hoody, my heart is always smiling whenever I draw this type.

Examples of some of my faves throughout the years (without twst): Levi (SnK), Ainosuke (sk8), Killua (HxH), Shiroba (DMMD), Apollo Justice (AA), Geto (JJK)… this is just a few of them.

I also still think that Prussia from Hetalia is our ultimate boy because I’ve been drawing him for about 15 years now lol

I still giggle every time I think about how we ended up with poor Riddle being surrounded by busty girls, I swear it wasn’t intentional. But the more I think about it, the funnier and more Freudian it gets… what an aggressive way to heal mommy issues and an acute deficiency of tight hugs.

To answer your question, I think Riddle was kind of surprised when she saw Trey after being separated because she didn’t think boobs could get that big. Logically yes, it makes sense, but seeing it in person is different. Riddle always does her best to be proper and act like a lady, but I can imagine her eyes sliding down all the time during their first conversation. Trey would absolutely notice…

Hey there

I saw your post about Cornelius and Franny and your perspective on their relationship, and I just want to say that I think it's really interesting (in a good way!) that you don't necessarily care for them as a couple.

What I really love about Meet the Robinsons is that it's a lot of people's comfort movie for a whole plethora of reasons, and those aren't going to be the same for everyone. I love it because Lewis finally gets adopted by people who accept him for who he is at the end, and that's something I desperately wanted as a kid and never really got.

I also know a lot of people see a little bit of themselves in Lewis, and that's the character that they most relate to.

For me, Franny and Cornelius are my comfort ship because I just love the idea that they were really close best friends who just kind of fell in love and get married and live happily ever after. But I know not everyone is going to see that, and it's totally okay!

I actually really love your headcanon of them being best friends with benefits, at least in an AU ☺️ I just love imagining their friendship, even without any romantic aspects. It's okay not to ship them, there's not law that says you have to. Like I know a lot of people who think Benedict Cucumber (I can't spell his last name lol) is the sexiest man alive, but I genuinely don't see it. 🤨

I also want to say that, as someone with a kid who never listens, I can understand their frustration with Wilbur. I think Cornelius is just tired of his kid's shit since he's probably told him a trillion times not to touch his inventions 😅 But I understand that it's triggering to see stuff like that, especially in a movie that's all about acceptance and I hate that those aspects make it difficult to watch.

Anyway, I know this was really long and kinda came out of the blue, and I hope this doesn't come across in a negative way. Your artwork showing their relationship in a different light as well as your AUs is really sweet, and I hope you never lose your spark.

Hey, thanks. I needed this. Sometimes I look at what other people are doing within this fandom and I feel like the odd one out because my headcanons all lead towards the dark and triggering side of things due to my own trauma. Then again... when am I not the odd one out? Heh heh heh.

On the topic of people seeing themselves in Lewis... He was actually me as a kid. Down to the leading with anger as an emotion because I was autistic and nobody taught me how to regulate mine. Dude, I even related to the parts in the montage where he was up teaching the class. I did that too, because I was reading middle school level chapter books when I was six.

Lewis' safe spot seemed to be the roof, and I related to that for... obvious reasons, if you saw my previous art post. That's why I developed the headcanon he thought about jumping off that roof a couple times. Some people may ask what the hell is wrong with me, but who are you to judge how I cope with my trauma? If that means making a fictional character suicidal, then all you gotta do is leave it alone. It doesn't affect your life in any way. Just mine.

Anyway, I'm happy to know someone likes my interpretation of their relationship. I'm definitely gonna do more with them, I already have some ideas I might spring for. I was originally gonna do "Ask Agoraphobic Lewis" as my new ask blog, but now I'm thinking I might do "Ask Bestie Lewis and Franny." We'll see on that one, heh heh.

So much vivid detail that takes an experience I've never even touched and makes me feel like I'm living it. Not to mention how Huey feels relatable to me personally (thanks, neurodivergence!). Anyway, get your peepers out for this one, and your reading glasses if you've got em. It'll be a good one.

It was probably the first time I ever realized that Violet Sabrewing is Literally Me (TM) because she's autistic and ace and plays chess what is there not to love. But also going through it again, I feel like this at least indirectly inspired "My Head is an Animal". Specifically, the part where Violet has a breakdown and Lena consoles her. Also also, not really related to anything I've done yet, but it got me to take May Duck seriously as a character. One of those moments where I realized that fanfiction could take a one-off clone of somebody else and give them depth, personality, etc. Not that she didn't have that in the show, but I think anybody would tell you that we didn't get very much May Duck content in DT17. This was my genesis in the DuckTales 2017 brain rot. I don't care if these end up aging terribly and turns out there's a trillion typos and also it was written in Gaelic so I can't even read it and actually it was all a dream and none of it ever happened. These three are still going to have a special place because they opened me up to being a fan of something. I was just ranging out of that age where you were supposed to hide if you liked stuff, especially anything for kids. My nostalgic pandemic-era binge of Phineas and Ferb, for example, was something to feel shameful of, not enjoy every second of like I ended up doing. But watching DuckTales, and then immersing myself into this fandom shortly thereafter, taught me how to enjoy things. How to love things. How to love myself. Since 2021, I've spent a lot of time embracing who I am and learning to love myself. I'm not gonna say that DT17 taught me how to do all of that, but I will say that it showed me how doing so could make me so much happier in life. And here I am now, being happy in life. Funny how that works.

41: Do you tend to reread fics or are you a one-and-done kind of person?

This answer applies to pretty much everything. Movies, tv shows, and yes, reading stuff. I don't rewatch/reread stuff unless I have a reason to do so. It's nothing against the concept or anything, just that I always feel like I need a reason for doing whatever I do. Usually if I rewatch/reread something, it's because I want to check a specific part of it, like quoting a line properly or what have you. Even the fics that I linked up top, I haven't reread them in the two years since I found them. That's just how my brain works I guess.

62: Thoughts on cliffhangers?

I'm fine with cliffhangers as long as they're eventually resolved. I used a few in "Groundhog Day", and that was fun to do. I'll also say that as a writer, cliffhangers in actively updated fics are a neat little trick to get people talking. Want some free feedback? Just have Lena Sabrewing wake up in a void outside of time and space. And then just end the chapter. Comments go wild for that.

As a reader, cliffhangers are alright but it comes with a big caveat: I'm not the best at remembering what I last read. So if it's been a few days or a week since the cliffhanger, I might have some trouble remembering where we are in the story. It might be a smooth transition where we pick up exactly where we left off, but that might not click in my brain. Idk it's weird. And like I said I tend not to reread stuff that often so that complicates things.
