Chapter 10: Confession

Summary:

In Coming in First, Anthony and Ezra, British expats living in the United States, learned to put their differences aside to begin a relationship. Two years later, the amateur triathletes spend all their time together, bouncing between Ezra’s lake house and their homes in the city. Everything is going great… until life starts creeping in. In addition to a merger at Anthony’s work making his job more difficult, an injury sidelines Ezra for the triathlon season. Does their relationship have the foundation to withstand the stress of everyday life?

What happens when you take two people whose relationship is built on—and most of their free time is spent—working out together, and all of a sudden one of them can’t train?

Chapter 10 excerpt:

Ezra paced the bookshop flat, feeling confined by the cluttered space where he usually found comfort. Anthony had called twenty minutes ago to say he was on the way back from the airport. He should be home any minute. A floorboard creaked under Ezra’s feet, startling him as he rehearsed for the upteenth time how he would tell Anthony about his dinner with Raphael. Maybe it would have been better to meet Anthony at his apartment instead.

Finally, the knot in Ezra’s stomach loosened by a fraction when Anthony walked through the door of the flat, his sleek black suit rumpled from travel. His gorgeous partner dropped his bags as he entered and made a beeline for Ezra, who met him halfway across the room. His anxieties eased as Anthony wrapped his arms around him, hugging him, though Ezra could tell he was careful not to lean on him with all of his weight. He whispered into Ezra’s curls, “Missed you so much, angel. Happy to be home. How are you feeling?”

“I’m fine.” Ezra held him tight as they embraced. “Can we go sit down? There is something I would like to talk to you about.”

Anthony rubbed his face with his palms, looking exhausted. “What is it? Is everyone okay?”

I've been watching Good Omens over and over and over again this last week, and this just came to me. I'm probably not to first person to do this but I had to make it and share it cuz I have nobody to talk to about this that will understand Lmaoo

Rec of the day : The False and the Fair

Hello !

Today we're talking about The False and the Fair by Princip1914.

In this fic, Aziraphale and Crowley meet again after thirty years apart and an old arrangement that didn't end well. Neither of them really expected to meet again, even less under these circumstances, but this unforeseen meeting might be what they need to accept the past and move forward.

How to start talking about this fic. It was one rollercoaster of emotions.

This fic as a lot of layers, that reveal themselves bit by bit, adding new information and a new understanding of the characters with each new touch. As Aziraphale and Crowley start to reconnect, their common past and their years apart, might not be as easy to ignore as they hoped.

This fic made me feel a lot for its characters. I was as happy for them as I wanted to shake them at times. The characters felt very human to me, not perfect, flawed at times, but always trying to navigate the world their in as best as they can.

The past is an important part of this story and shape the present in different ways, but you only learn how exactly as the characters allow themselves to remember.

Everything end well, but the road to get there is a hard one that'll make you feel a lot of things.

This fic deal with a lot of heavier topics that can be hard to read, so I'll would advise (as always) to mind the tag before you dive in.

And it's rated explicit for good reason and even so the author warn about the most explicit passages, if you want to skip them, this aspect can still be present in various ways throughout the fic.
