Formal meetings had never been Azriel’s strong suit. Too many fae and no shadows to hide in and watch from—forced to sit in an uncomfortable chair not made to accommodate his wings—subjected to the flamboyant disagreements of those who held power.

“If you sit any straighter your spine may stay fixed in that position.”

Azriel’s head swayed slightly to the right, meeting the amused violet-blue eyes of his High Lord. “It’s not my fault that these fucking chairs make it feel like someone is busy shoving a stick up your arse.”

Azriel’s keen eyes caught the slight uplift of Rhysand’s mouth despite his cool, composed posture.

“Such vulgar language, Az! I think you’ve been spending too much time with Cassian and Nesta.”

Azriel resisted the urge to give Rhys the finger, so as to avoid an uncomfortable conversation with the company they presently shared.

For the last several hours, Azriel had found himself sharing a space with not only one, but seven High Lords. The bi-annual High Lord’s meeting—the only time of the year when one could expect to find all of the great powers of Prythian in one room together.

“Are you going to bring it up?”

Rhys’s eyes narrowed in displeasure, face souring ever so slightly.

“Yes, in a few moments. We can’t delay the inevitable, I suppose.”

Azriel watched his High Lord for a moment before responding. “You’re not to blame. You know that right?”

Rhys's head bobbed—in agreeance or thanks, Azriel wasn’t completely sure.

Rhys cleared his throat, gaining the attention of the bickering High Lords scattered around the table. “As much as I enjoy watching the lot of you nip at each other's tails, there is a much more… pressing matter to discuss.”

“And what would that be Rhysand?” the red-headed lord mused. “Here to tell us you are the mother’s gift to us all? That we ought to bow before your feet? Name you King?”

Azriel snarled in warning, only to be waved off by Rhys. Beron, High Lord of the Autumn Court—and the greatest waste of space Azriel had come across in over 500 years of existence.

“That’s right. Call your dog off,” Beron said, lips parting to reveal that smug smile of victory. Cauldron, it made him want to knock the arrogant redheads’ teeth out.

“As I was saying…” Rhys drawled. “There are signs of Koschei’s troops gathering in great numbers. We assume they are planning to attack. The question begs as to when.”

“And you learnt this from the shadows that whisper in your dog’s ear, I presume?” Beron questioned, the remark causing Azriel’s fists to clench.

“He’s a prick. Don’t let him get to you.”

Azriel took a deep breath as Rhys’s voice infiltrated his mind. In. Out. In. Out. Slowly, his hands relaxed, settling palms down on his leather-bound knees.

“Elain has been having visions,” Rhys revealed as Azriel monitored shocked expressions litter the faces of those who sat around the table.

“Well…that is most concerning,” Thesan breathed, slouching back in his chair—chin finding the cup of his palm.

“You’re certain it’s Koschei she’s seeing?” Helion asked, leaning forward to rest his weight on his onyx forearms. Azriel couldn’t recall a time when he had seen the High Lord of Day look so serious.

Rhys nodded. “We’re almost completely confident that Elain is seeing the death god–”

“And what would you have us do, Rhysand? Our troops are a little thin after the last war you led us into.”

Azriel resisted releasing the primal growl that rose up through his chest—threatening to rattle his ribcage like one of the musical shakers he’d seen being played in the street of Velaris.  “You seem to be misinformed about your own cavalry, High Lord. From what my sources tell me, your troops were barely dented by the war, unlike the rest of the courts.”

Beron snarled at him, eyes ablaze with that raging fire that ran through his Autumn Court veins. A compulsive liar—just like his eldest son.

“So, another war is upon us, and we are low on means of muscle and protection,” Kallias stated, rubbing at the skin between his stark white eyebrows. “What do you suggest as a solution? Will the mortal queens aid us?”

“Vassa might, but Mother knows Koschei will do everything he can to tighten his noose around her.” Rhys leaned back in his chair, and Azriel noted his attempt to appear nonchalant despite his growing agitation. “There is another option…”

Azriel knew that pondering look on his brother’s face too well. That was a look of scheming—of plans that may or may not get them killed…again.

Rhys took a breath before continuing. “A few months ago, the Night Court received a visitor from a distant land. A very distant land.”

Azriel’s breath caught in his throat. No… Rhys would have to be out of his god's damned mind to be suggesting this.

“Her name was Bryce Quinlan. Fae, although not completely like us, but not entirely different either. She possessed the power of a star. And she fell through worlds…”

“Are you meaning to tell us that you had a fae from another world land on your doorstep?” Helion blanched, his deep-coloured skin seeming to glow with excitement. “Why in the name of all things good are you only telling us this now!”

It was Azriel who spoke next. “We didn’t know who she was, what she was, and what she was capable of. We didn’t want to take the chance of word getting out, and the issue becoming larger than what it was.”

Rhys looked to Thesan, whose intelligent eyes were combing through this newfound information. “She’s back on her home planet, where she belongs. Her stay was brief, but her impact… tremendous.”

“You wish to seek out her help.”

“Yes,” Rhys confirmed. “She mentioned great powers that protected her world from harm. Warriors of unparalleled strength. She called them Valkyrie.”

“That’s not possible,” Helion countered. “The Valkyrie died out centuries ago.”

Rhys simply nodded. “They did. In our world.”

The silence that followed was almost painful. No one dared to utter a word—as if fearing that everything would shatter like glass.

Surprisingly, it was the Lord of Spring who broke the spell. “Let’s say your idea holds value. How do you plan on contacting this… Bryce Quinlan, when she is worlds away?”

Rhys’s lips turned up in that arrogant smirk that had earned him his nickname—prick. It was then that Azriel realized. Rhys had been thinking about this for a while—a long while. And he had formulated a plan that he was seemingly confident about.

“My second in command has some incredibly useful qualities,” Rhys hummed, threading his fingers together. “Why don’t you leave the details to me.”

I hit my high school English subject with the waifu beam

Honestly I was originally planning on having only 2 ocs specifically because I wanted one to kill the other in order to maintain the same group of survivors in the end lmao. I'm still trying to fully work out the setup and inevitable execution because the plot writing for dr2 is really tight and well progressed imo, so I feel like adding anything would weaken it-

BUT I'm also just having fun and being silly so I know it doesn't have to be perfect it just needs to let me have fun really lmao

I'll add a readmore but I'll ramble about each of them a little if anyone has any interest

First up is the first one I made, Haruka (forgive all of their basic bitch Japanese names, I can't do the fun wordplay to the level I wish) they're the ultimate ballerina, and by extension also nonbinary kind of feminine leaning androgynous but can be masc if needed because they can do any kind of role required of them for a performance

When they're tossed into the dr2 mix they'd probably be found being a third wheel to the dynamic duo that is Akane and Nekomaru, since they're also technically more athletic and would be stretching and practicing every day. I want to sit down sometime and draw them and Akane engaged in a flexibility battle and Kazuichi walking in on them and screeching because they look so creepy

Haruka is planned to be a murderer and I'll definitely get some drawings out once I flesh out my concepts for their execution more

Next up is Nao! She's the ultimate sharpshooter and yes that is a little vague but it's because this includes bows and such on top of typical guns. Hell, she probably even does well with throwing stuff if there's enough focus

With the dr2 cast she'd be mostly a friend to Ibuki and Kazuichi, their eccentricities are endearing to her, plus if either of them just want to ramble about something they're working on she's gonna listen for hours. Honestly they're such a movie night squad to me. Also post game I feel like she's like a girl in the same way I still see Kazuichi a guy, like in the vaguest terms cuz they're both just Themselves and are gonna have fun with it now since they're apart from society. Ibuki isn't included only since I feel like she'd struggle less, but this is the bi/pan gender fuckery trifecta of the group to me

Oh yeah and Haruka kills her. I've got the death already planned out and ideally I wanna do a cg style emulation for it but idk if I can swing it lmao I'm not very good at style emulation tbh

And last but not least is Tōru. I didn't plan on her existing so idk how I'm gonna get rid of her in time for the end hmm. But she's the ultimate tattoo artist and has the most fleshed out backstory of the three but it's embarrassing and I know it LMAO

Basic run down- and stick with me here- she lives with family that work under the Kuzuryu clan, so she's done a lot of sick yakuza tats, partially because of her skill and mostly because this shit is so good that her tattoos have like, an "aura" that influences the viewer a little. So these dudes have extra intimidating tattoo bullshit going on- BUT ANYWAYS so things start and she can recognize Fuyuhiko and Peko and knows what's up with them, but neither of them have officially met her so she's like "oh thank fuck they have no idea that I know who they are I'm gonna avoid these assholes like the PLAGUE"

But of course that won't hold forever but it just makes me laugh like chapter 3 Fuyuhiko trying desperately to be kinder to everyone like "yeah, maybe I'll see if you're good enough to tattoo me some day" and she's choking on her drink because Haha About That-

But yeah hopefully I can rope one of my friends into having their oc knock her off because I think that would be funny like, getting down on one knee please kill my oc tragically

I had a few questions about your apocalypse au!!

Are there any definite relationships? what happened to Sally and the rest of the townsfolk? And do any of the current characters that are alive die later on?

so the first thing to know is that apoc au falls in line with my longstanding polyam bi salqueen hc. they are both in multiple healthy consenting relationships with different dynamics. fran/sal/queen is a thing, mchicks is a thing, etc. theyre all queer and all respectful mature adults, they have a lot of love to give, and theyre having a lot of fun!

-What happened to Sally?

in apoc au tho, sally dies very sadly early on. she survives the blast initially and is coherent enough to say her goodbyes, but her injuries take her within a week or so. 996's have an infamous catostrophic engine failure point and are notorious for blowing up, so her odds werent great. with the entire planet in chaos, its hard to help survivors at all...

-Are there any definite relationships?

the main relationship of apoc au winds up being... lightning/chick. yep. chick is visiting his old 'pal' in radiator springs (lightning and cruz stopped home for some rare downtime during the busy season) when it all goes to hell. everyone dies, and 1 billion metric tons of trauma later, chick and lightning accidentally wind up codependent. (cant blame them!).

so far, lightning has 2 other relationships in apoc au. jackson survives, and decides to not sit on his longtime crush on lightning anymore on account of the world being massively fucked up, and confesses his feelings. i also have an oc in development, a medic named Dr. Amiyah Sparkwright who shares feelings with lightning also. both of them dont appear til later in the story, after the characters start to rebuild. all of them are too traumatized to be super serious though... the angst ;,,)

-What happened to the rest of the townfolk?

the rest of the townfolk died pretty much instantly, save for mack, who also died slower. i guess its sort of like a thanos snap? except the bodies dont vanish. chick, lightning, and cruz bury them when they realize no one is coming to save anyone.

-Do any of the main survivors die later?

and do any of the main cast die... spoilers!! but yes, chick dies about 15-20 years in. initially, in the early-early drafts back in 2019ish, chick died only a few years in. changing this and adding him to the main party has shifted everything- his chaos-loving spirit, tricky resourcefulness, and boundless rude comedy are exactly what the story needed. combine that with the pacifist/optimist cruz and the endlessly loving determination and charm of lightning, and its an incredibly fun dynamic. that, and they're all hardened survivors now- big changes happen to these characters, and part of the fun is exploring that (or, how theyve stayed the same despite the changed world!).

to be fair to chick, hes like, 70 by the time he dies, so he does pretty well. Non has a list of ideas on how chick goes, and i love them all too much to decide, tho i am a big fan of him being murdered on a failed supply run. a few other minor characters will also die, oc's and canon. and i havent decided what happens to cruz and lightning yet, i'm not sure if it matters, they may live to old age!

Any rants or headcanons about legend or warriors you want to share?

YES okay so.

Legend:

- Still has certain bunny-like behaviours (nose twitches, and also ‘bunny flops’ aka he just. Drops when he feels super safe and comfortable and conks out—see him with Ravio. (In future instalments to Stitch, I may also have him do this with others!)

- Because of the bunny thing, he no longer eats meat either. Dairy and animal products are… okay, with a preference to eat as infrequently as possible, but meat is a no unless he’s absolutely desperate

- ALSO BUCK TEETH

- This is probably quite obvious in my Stitch series, but he has insomnia. It’s better at home where he knows he’s safe and Ravio has him, but out on another quest with trauma around every bend? It’s Bad. And pretty soon in the series it’s only going to get worse!

- Adding on to that, what helps his insomnia a lot is weight (think, a weighted blanket or Wolfie) and heat (Wolfie). He does not yet know this.

- Purple eyes (Ravio has green)

- Legend is a trans man who loves wearing skirts and dresses. It took a little time for him to get over the whole ‘skirts and dresses are feminine’ thing, but he loves the way they feel on his body, loves how freeing they are. He won’t wear pants unless he will literally freeze without them

- Legend is bi greyromantic ace. Romantic attraction is extremely rare for him, and because of the whole Marin thing, he tends to veer away from it if he does feel romantic attraction. Besides, he has Ravio, so he doesn’t care for it when he does feel romantic attraction

- Has self-harmed in the past. He’s a lot better now, but losing his uncle and not having any control over his life did not bode well for his mental health. Ravio helped a lot with it though.

Warriors:

- Really smart. He’s very tactical (which helped a lot during the war)

- Country boy! A lot of people mistake him for a city boy because he’s ‘refined’, but that’s actually years of training. He grew up in the country with his mam and pops and will always be a country boy at heart

- In Stitch, he’s very fussy about the way he looks. Certain parts of his appearance he can’t stand to look at, though he doesn’t yet understand why. No I won’t be elaborating on this one yet

- He has dermatillomania (skin picking). He hides it from the others because he’s embarrassed about it, but it’s hard to stop when he doesn’t even think about it while he’s doing it… He does try to keep away from obvious places when he picks, though.

- Warriors has a partner back home! This is specific to Stitch, and they’ll be mentioned soon (if they haven’t yet by the time I get around to answering this) but their name is River (an OC of mine). They’re a poet and an artist, and a relatively famous one at that. Warriors is super soft for them, and vice-versa (they gave him a book of their first poems, inspired by him). We’ll see more of them in future Stitch instalments :)

- Steals Legend’s hair products. He thinks he’s really sneaky about it. Legend knows and likes to watch him squirm when he pretends to look for them (Legend no longer uses them).

- Hates being called ‘pretty boy’. It reminds him of Cia, and his skin crawls anytime someone calls him that.

For the both of them:

- They’re super close friends (best friends, though they don’t really know it yet). They both have a similar love language of playful bullying. They may seem mean to one another from an outsider’s perspective, but they’re very fond of each other

- While they can both be very physically affectionate with others (see: Wind, Hyrule, Ravio) they’re not so much with each other. This does not mean they care for each other less. Their relationship is just… different. Wind is like a younger brother, and Hyrule is Legend’s successor, and Ravio, obviously, his partner. They still have physically affectionate moments, they’re just different (shoulder squeezes, playfully leaning into one another.)

-OH almost forgot but nicknames for each other!! ‘Ledge’ and ‘Worry-Wars’ snsksnsns

What are your thoughts on the language acquisition of the uruks!

I feel like black speech MUST be their first language, and the language spoken around camp/family units, but there were scenes like in S1 where Adar is speaking to a crowd in (what I assume) is common tongue. Are little Uruk children learning both at the same time? Is common only taught to uruks who would interact with outsiders (for prisoner communication, espionage info gathering, understanding foes during battle, etc) and not to maybe domestic minded Uruks who only stay within the colony?

@emillelavender Um hi, so may I just say that I ADORE that all of your asks make me want to write, like, FULL BLOWN DISSERTATIONS!!??

So I DO have A LOT of thought on this and how language would have evolved for Adar and his children. Now, given that this is Tolkien's domain, I should disclaim that I'm not anywhere close to being well-versed in linguistics and I don't claim to have dived super deep into Tolkien's own con-langs, so take this for the speculation that it is.

BUT... here's how I think language went down.

So, as I understand it, the first elves to be captured spoke a primitive form of Quenya. I think the Black speech developed in Utumno first as a way for Morgoth to communicate with his minions (I'm assuming it was a twisted, bastardized form of Valarin).

In my headcanon, the corruption of the first elves was a long, slow process. Adar and the others would have been spoken to at all hours in the language of Morgoth, so that it supplanted the primitive Quenya and became their primary form of communciation.

HOWEVER, I think Adar in particular never lost the connection to his mother tongue. I think he gave himself the name "Adar" (in my fic, there are words in Black speech for "king"/"lord"/"master", but there would have been no words to describe nuclear family dynamics, so hence, he supplied an elven word for "father".)

Along the way, I think he probably leaned on the primitive Quenya to supply words that didn't exist in Black speech (for example: LOVE. Which you KNOW wouldn't have been in Morgoth's vernacular). They probably evolved to be more guttural because I think the uruks would struggle with Elvish, but I choose to believe that there are a lot of Elvish root words in what Adar's children speak, solely because of him.

Then Morgoth starts taking prisoners, so I think that yes, some of the uruks who were guarding the prisoners would pick up whatever they were speaking, and that knowledge was probably kept and selectively passed down.

In Awake, Arise, Magrot is one character who has a knack for picking up languages, and Adar has him doing a lot of prisoner interrogations in the Southlands. Adar also teaches Elvish to Vrak, an OC character of mine who had an uncommon interest in elven culture, so yes, there were some bi- and tri-lingual Uruks. Adar's firstborn, Mazul, also uses Elvish with him at some very specific points in the story.

But for the most part, I think the majority would speak Black speech, and Adar would have spoken Black speech to them almost exclusively. (That pre-battle speech to the Uruk crowd in S1 Ep 6 should have been in Black speech, but for i'm sure the showrunners not wanting to be arsed to translate all of that!)

Full name: Kotone Uta! Quirk: Siren Song, allows her to influence anyone who hears her sing! Hero Name: Siren!

Uta grew up with her single mother, Suzume, and her twin older siblings, Nana and Naoko. Her mother possesses a hypnosis-based power called Allure which allows her to emotionally compel anyone who hears her speak. However, Suzume grew up with an extreme lack of control over her powers and an internal need to be liked at all times, and thus had a habit of subconsciously forcing people to love her, which then led to those people leaving her once they found out about her powers/were released from her control. Because of this repeated abandonment, Suzume loathed her quirk, and began to hide it from others. Her ex-partner, Youta, was quirkless, and though Suzume genuinely loved him, he was inadvertently drawn in by her quirk, enough to marry and have three beautiful children with her. Nana and Naoko were born sufficiently quirkless, but Uta’s quirk manifested young, and when she was little she had almost no control over it, making it impossible for Suzume to keep her secret any longer. Unfortunately after Suzume confessed to him about her quirk, Youta had an identity crisis, believing his entire affection for her to have been a lie, and subsequently abandoned the family. Suzume, blaming her for being the instigator of Youta leaving, grew to hate Uta and her powers, becoming extremely neglectful and abusive towards her. Although Nana and Naoko acted as a buffer against her mother’s abuse, Uta grew up with a deeply rooted internal belief that she and her quirk were inherently evil and selfish, as well as the root of both her and her loved ones’ problems. Eventually Uta applied to UA in order to both leave her toxic home life behind and to prove to both her mother and herself that she can, in fact, be a good person.

For a time that the entire "why don't you ship f/f!" crowd did make me wonder if I didn't care about female characters or if I was even really bi.

(My sexuality can best be described as eeeh, probably bi? queer in some way since I'm just not very motivated by sex and even less by romance. sexuality is very ambiguous for me not to mention the disconnect I have between attraction and actual desire. so as a teen trying to figure out if I liked girls in a way that "counted" that sort of rhetoric really did confuse me further when I had so little to go off of. for a long time I thought I was ace and it took me until I was 19 to actually figure out that yes, I like looking at girls in tight clothes because I find them hot in a way that is sex related)

I've grown out of that thankfully. Making female OCs, enjoying female characters outside of the context of shipping, enjoying f/m shipping, finding better media with well-written female characters to go insane over, realizing fantasy doesn't always equal what you like IRL... there's lots of ways to interact with female characters outside of f/f and its disingenuous to point to the lack of f/f as even the primary symptom of fandom sexism.

It's also become very clear as I explored more media, the media landscape itself evolved, and I wrote about original female characters I personally to fit my tastes, I really enjoy f/f shipping and f/f smut! I just have (very obvious in hindsight) preferences that the stuff I was reading and watching at the time lacked, especially in the major characters.

I really should have watched Puella Magi Madoka Magica as a teenager, I would've ate that shit up.

Korrasami Children?

So I realized, out of everything I've posted on here.. I never got around to posting my Korrasami kids, despite sharing Korrasami, loving it and all that. So let me make up for lost time. I've had three characters I've adopted in the past who have been labelled as Korrasami kids. Let's start with the oldest child. (Art/Design was done by xZom-Zom) Nakoma Sato

History: TBA Fun Facts: - Alani is actually pretty close with both her folks. She loves going to shows with her mom and doesn't mind getting behind an engine with her mother. Being dirty doesn't bug her. - She's not too close to Yasuko and the two personalities often bounce off each other in the worst of ways. - She might be trans later down the road, as their development is still in the works BONUS FACT: She has her own hybrid Polar Bear Dog, he's not a pure bred but he's still equally as cute. His name is Qimmik.
