Ive seen some posts theorizing that 'oh wait what if betty wasnt that great and simon has just been putting her on a pedestal this whole time and has an idealized version of her in his head he is idolizing' & obviously he IS putting her on a pedestal (and idolizing her he has a whole Golb shrine) but if f&c goes the route of her not being good too him then it will be a waste of a whole show

i'm gonna go yell here so ignore me but i really wouldn't even describe peeta as soft or overtly emotional, especially not more emotional than katniss. this guy cries twice in the whole trilogy (please correct if im wrong but it's after the reaping and during the if it weren't for the baby speach), he can tell katniss sweet loving lines but he isn't calling her to hold him after a nightmare. he actually has a tendency to close off emotionally (on the train, before the quell). his mother gives him a bruise and he doesn't cry. is he more self aware than katniss? is he more aware of his feelings than she is? yes, but that isn't the same thing as being emotionally open and vulnerable. so he isn't open, he just understans what needs to get done in order to appear like that. easy going and mild.

Because they are on my mind, please accept one of my favorite Wangxian moments of all time.

Chapter 87

In my opinion, this is one of the most important Wangxian scenes in the whole novel. It is very special to me. It made me tear up when I was doing my read through.

Time and time again, Wei Wuxian has fallen, he's gotten hurt, people have failed him. The people who were supposed to be there for him have either left, he's lost them tragically, or they've betrayed him at some point in his life. His life has been one of loneliness and loss.

He has never had someone who he could rely on so heavily. He has never had a solid safety net before, someone on equal footing to him that he could fall back on and rely on. If anything he has spent his entire life being a safety net for other people. He has spent his whole life being strong for others.

Now, however, Lan Wangji is that safety net for him.

For the first time in his life, he has someone to truly catch him when he falls. He can let himself fall and still be safe. That "thank you" isn't just about Lan Wangji catching him after he fell from the tree, its about everything.

like im sorry but if you think Katara "I will never turn my back on people who need me", Katara "I want to fight", Katara who incited a prison riot and rallied others to fight, Katara who continuously reached out to people in need even when the others were telling her not to because they didn't have the time, Katara who didn't actually have to leave the Southern Water Tribe in the first place but was the one that propelled both her and Sokka to do so (and thus propelled the entire original series imo), would grow into an adult that is content with being on the sidelines ???? lol

Silver doesn't need another father. He's already got one of those, technically, but the man turned out to be a weak, cowardly bastard who couldn't face his own problems let alone raise a child. The way he sees it, there's no need to set himself for more disappointment. He's got a roof over his head and food to eat, and that's far more than he could ever depend on in the last... however many years he'd been living on the streets. Lance and Clair are annoying as hell, but while he's training in the Dragon Den, he doesn't exactly have much room to complain. Not out loud, anyways.

Lance doesn't particularly want to be a dad either. He's already got too much responsibility on his plate as Champion, and this kid clearly needs so much more emotional support than he feels like he can provide. Simply convincing him to move into his guest room was enough of a struggle, and it only really worked because Lance had promised Silver he could "earn" his keep. What the hell is up with that, anyways? He's not sure what Silver's past looks like, and he's not about to go prying, but the bare minimum he can do is make sure he doesn't have to rough it out in the woods anymore. At least Clair seems to be having fun training him...

Clair is more than ready to be an aunt. The other two refuse to admit to caring for each other, but unlike them, she's not afraid of something as stupid as her emotions. The brat's slowly but surely been mellowing out during his training, and her idiot cousin has actually been taking care of himself for once in order to be a "good example." Silver has even caught on to calling Lance "old man" like she does, on account of those ugly-ass reading glasses the all-mighty Champion has to wear, and she couldn't be prouder. Best part is, she doesn't have to spend a dime except to treat the kid every so often! That's a win in her book if ever there was one.

Obi-Wan - I'm not entirely sure how big of a deal this is. I mean, technically I'm still married to Bail Organa since the Council forgot to process the paperwork that would have annulled the marriage ceremony the clones put us through while we were drunk.

Anakin - I missed your wedding???

Obi-Wan - I missed yours, apparently, so it's only fair. Besides, Bail and I are more queer platonic partners than anything else. Also, we're not having babies.

Was touching up on my WIP about Caterina and Ghilasara today, and the last thing added to it was this:

Madrigal had warned her that Crows bring death wherever they go, but Rook much rather would’ve been warned about the headaches. Death comes only once, and can at least be quick if you are lucky; Crow-induced headaches, however, are recurring and unconditionally long-drawn.
