He tried his best to make you forget you were suffering even though it could be just for a second. If he was able to make you smile, he considered you were slowly getting better. He loves you so much. So for him, you needed to stay by his side until you both achieved your goals and more, and he was gonna make sure of it.

He said convinced of himself. You rolled your eyes well aware of the direction skills of your boyfriend. Y’all stopped for a second trying to figure your position (mostly you) in this jungle. On lukola fandom

Here’s some venting about the lukola fandom, and its ways, and consequences, from an ordinary polin, Bridgerton and Luke fan.

Starting from the way Luke’s loved ones and friends are treated by its adherents. Especially his girlfriend. The hate towards her is visceral. The whole phenomenon of bullying and stalking someone just for existing and posting on their SM account from time to time probably needs to be studied by social studies scholars and parasocial relationship specialists, cause it’s new heights apparently.

So, what if she’s proud of Luke as her boyfriend and wants to show it? What if she wants to mark her territory sometimes, to which she has a right btw? What if she trolls haters and delusional IRL shippers occasionally? Hers is probably the most relatable behavior. I myself, as an introvert millennial who doesn’t run one single SM account and cringe from the exhibitionist nature of current SM posting practices, still recognize that there’s nothing unusual about that kind of posting per se. Why was Luke’s former gf, Jade, allowed to post him all the time (which is totally alright btw), but Antonia hinting at having, say, a dinner with Luke is shady, attention-seeking, desperate, needy and despicable?

It's not that I care particularly about her. In fact, I couldn’t care less if she’s replaced by Luke with some other woman in a couple of months or if she is his future wife and mother to his kids. I still believe, regardless of her status in the relationship, she deserves basic respect and decent treatment as a human being that we know pretty much nothing about. She does not deserve the vilification and demonization that she gets.

Luke too, has a right to privacy and respect for his personal choices that are nobody’s business. He owes no one anything in terms of disclosing his dating life and confirming his relationships. If for someone, Luke bringing the girl to almost all his travels and events with himself, is not a proof or statement in and of itself about her being his girlfriend, then that’s on them. No amount of intentional misreading and skewed takes on photos will trump this simple fact.

Also please don’t bring up virtue signaling and other cancel culture stupidities, such as moral judgements passed on Luke and his close ones for political or other values purportedly held by them, of which we in fact know zilch. It’s clear that this is just another useful tool in a shipping crusade.

Nicola too, deserves, for a change, to have her numerous statements taken seriously. Let alone, privacy. She’s being stalked by her so-called fans to insanity. I am sure she, to put it mildly, is uncomfortable about her “queen” and “goddess” status among the cultists, and being a projection vessel for a myriad of sad women. Cause she knows very well this type of passionate idolatry is an inch away from hate, and the plus sign switches to a minus sign the minute she does something not to their liking, a wrong brand or person supported, or not enough disciplining of Luke is exercised. The most delusional thing about lukolas is them truly believing themselves to be Nic’s or Luke’s fans.

Which brings us to the crux of the matter. That IRL shipping is bad, period. Some lukola bloggers on tumblr, TT and IG half-heartedly try to reign in and admonish the more unhinged segment of the fandom by telling them to behave and not bring their bul..t to the actors' feet. However, this is what the lukola discourse platforms, by simply existing, still do - breed crazy fan behavior. Because the problem lies in the belief system itself. No amount of reservations, house-keeping and discipline by lukola discourse 'leaders' will do away with the tenets and premises of this religion that seep through and twist every discussion and speculation about the figures involved (Luke, Nic, etc). Since every reasoning should work towards a certain end goal, all means and distortions are good to achieve it. Finding faults with Luke's character and behavior and demanding a 'redemption' from him, hating and criticizing Luke's friends and family, attributing motivations to the actors and their loved ones that best suit theories, online stalking etc. A myth about Luke ever publicly stating he was single during promo, a ridiculous myth about Bridgerton cast and showrunners shipping lukola (news flash – nobody in the cast cares about their co-stars’ private lives, stop the kindergarten), or the “papgate” affecting in any way Luke’s job prospects. Myths upon myths that build the house of cards of the lukola dogma. I myself wouldn’t care a damn about this fandom if it really contained itself to its close corners and group chats, however, unsurprisingly, they spill over in a grand fashion and permeate all discourse.

You really believe the innocent delulu fangirling has no by-products? These are the staple manifestations of the lukola and of any IRL shipping fandom, and popular lukola theorists are pretty successful in justifying and reinforcing them. And it should not be surprising that some followers, the most zealous and stupid ones, take it too far and actually harass people and be annoying in SM.

As a Luke and polin fan, I am annoyed by this, but I am 100% sure this sh*t is affecting the actors, and you all can kiss goodbye to the chemistry between Luke and Nic naturally displayed during promo. Seeing Meliodas destroy the horn of cernunos is such a badass moment to me. The way he responds to her taunting with direct action and violence rather than his usual merciful beating around the bush. My favorite Mel moments are when he is using his silly goofy little guy façade and suddenly has to drop it. This is when we see a glimpse of who he was when leading the 10 commandments: arrogant, powerful, and constantly full of rage

this fucking line tormented me throughout the workday 😭😭😭 u wrote him to be so sweet and sincere and open with his emotions and it’s the perfect balance with the reader. i like how them talking about greed as it relates to love reveals their extremely different viewpoints when it comes to their relationship. i adore how it opened the door for them to have this open and honest convo where they’re actually saying all of the stuff that has remained unsaid in previous confessions due to the reader’s unwillingness to engage in the convo seriously. i really like how u make use of these dynamics in many of ur works where one character has fears related to one aspect of themselves while the person they love is that aspect embodied (generalizing here). bc oh my god reader is so not indulgent with herself or her feelings for umemiya while he’s over here begging to be greedy with her. it’s just such a perfect dynamic thank u sm fang

i think. in general - while umemiya is definitely a kind and naturally unselfish person, there is a lot of intentionality in his actions and behavior. it's not that he's putting on an act, but his kindness and manner is something he's had to think through critically and enacts with a lot of meaning and purpose.

and it is not that reader is naive, but there's a very real sense of innocence to her from her years of isolation. she's easily misunderstood but also generally, deeply kind and considerate. these aspects of her i.e. having really unconscious humility and a deep sense of loyalty are things umemiya cherishes as they are sort of . innate to her.

reader views her inability to be like umemiya as a shortcoming because she truly admires him that much. he embodies her ideals of a good person which is why she feels like he should be with someone who embodies them similarly. she genuinely feels selfish thinking of umemiya that way but it's not really out of self-loathing necessarily. it's not about her insecurity, really, but about how much she loves him.

and umemiya sees reader for what is innate to her which is selective but but wholly devoted selflessness .there's nothing greedy about wanting someone to love you back but she feels that way because her love and loyalty to him run so deep. reader is truly, truly selfless when it comes to him.

SO THEIR ENTIRE DYNAMIC AND BACK FOURTH IS REALLY JUST UMEMIYA TRYING TO GET HER TO STOP THINKING OF IT AS A SOME KIND OF BETRAYAL TO HIM BC SHE IS WHAT HE WANTS.

in his mind, he's really the one being greedy between them!!! he's the one who knows these sides of her and wants to monopolize them so much!!! but she's dense that girl really!!!!

angel + buffy (7/10) i think it's okay for what it is, but buffy clearly outgrows him in the end but omg that i will always remember you episode on ats is so tragic and made me appreciate them sm more

spike + buffy (9/10) OMG THE SCENE OF THEM IN SEASON 7 WHERE SPIKE SAYS HE LOVES HER NOT BECAUSE OF WHAT SHE DOES OR BECAUSE HE'S GETTING ANYTHING IN RETURN BUT BECAUSE OF WHO SHE IS AND WHAT SHE IS IS SO. i love them together omg.

riley + buffy (6/10) i don't like hate them? riley had sm potential as a character and as a boyfriend but good lord did they handle him badly. they could've made him a cute golden retriever boyfriend for buffy but instead they made him toxic masculinity TM. season 4 riley is enjoyable though, just once you get to season 5 he becomes annoying and pretty unbearable

Characters: Xeno (Lovegood), sybill (trelawney), and Emmeline (Vance)

Hmmmm.... These are like RARE PAIRS if I've ever seen em. (Also btw I'm not big on multi shipping purely cause I get real set on things😭, so this is DEF. biased) (also sorry because I do dis all of these ships😭but i DID say honest) (also please don't take this too seriously 🙏these are just to me, I don't care what other people ship)

so for xeno/James...i honestly don't even know how that dynamic would work. To me, they would just be in VERY different worlds. James is in the typical(and I hate to say the marauders are this) "class clown", overly loud, " popular ", very likeable and conventional group, and xeno is in with the outcast people, almost opposite. I see how that could be fun, but I personally think xeno would want someone who has similar thinking and eccentricity(‼️) as him, while James is more arrogant and would scoff towards it. Not to say he'd be rude to them, just finding it weird and talking about it with his friends. I also just think that's not the kind of group or person James would find interesting to start with. The only way I even see them meeting is because Peter (to me) is friends with Sybill and she's friends with xeno. Overall I'd rate it a 2/10, it's not BAD or anything, its not against the characters morals or completely unlikely, its just a VERY far reach for me, out of sight.

Evan/lily: I DO think the Evan(s) is really funny I have to admit😭 BUT I think the main aesthetic I've seen of them (and bartylily) is always very booktok-y of like, bad boy with angst falls for smart-snarky girl who also has angst, and I just can't get behind it. ESPECIALLY in canon because I think Evan was a pretty die hard DE and lily was muggleborn and fought so hard against it. And not in canon, I picture lily to want the typical home-y life, she wants to get a beautiful house, befriend the neighbors, have a classic wedding, have kids, get a nice job she loves, and with her highs and lows her life is beautiful. Meanwhile Evan is peak FREAK behaviour, will never live that kind of life lily would want. The thing I DO think they would have in common would be their curiosity and experiments. lily loved potions and was great at it, she wanted to undo things and see how they work to create something new. Evan likes to undo and figure things out for the destruction, he enjoys the process a million times more than the result unless the result is decay, unending destruction. Overall a 3.5/10, I see it, I get WHY people would like it, just doesn't work for me and my ideas of these characters.

Sirius/Evan:um...i don't even really see anything there for them? I suppose the rosiers and blacks grew up with eachother, but I can't see why Sirius would ever be interested in any of regulus' little friends. As an older sibling myself (and it's probably different for some) I could only ever see my sibling's friends as an extension of my sibling. I also think (especially in canon) Sirius would see Evan as someone SO adjacent to the rest of the Blacks and the Rosiers, and in my idea of Sirius, he would completely stray from and genuinely not have any interest in someone like that. And I think Evan would be bored of him, I think he would figure Sirius out real quick when they were kids and crave an enigmatic aspect to his partner. This one's a 1/10, I genuinely don't think they would even LIKE each other that much.

Xeno... Xeno, xeno, xeno.... Being honest I love him sm. (Someone who has REALLY good xeno thoughts is @florsial , so if you want more constructed thoughts go there) He's very odd, not just weird airheaded way, but just Is. Like they are just. The peculiarness is not taught or learned or developed, he just popped out with a different way of being, his thoughts will forever be a mystery of how they appear. I really like the HC that they're Lucius' younger brother. Such a fancy family, his brother immediately fitting into the socialite he's meant to be, meanwhile xeno is outcasted. He just. Cant. Understand these people and what the whole purpose is. He carries this huge imagination that he looses himself in, dreams become prophesies, "what ifs?" become reality, anything they want will be true. And they back it up, too. He is prime example of conformation bias.

Sybill Trelawny! Shes very very sensitive, very sweet. But!!! She is judgey, very gossipy, especially when it comes to her practice, if you don't believe her get outta here!! She knows what she sees, she doesn't doubt herself after a past of ignoring her visions. Ultimately frazzled and anxious, constantly running back and forth from door to door, something's lost? She doesn't know! Shes very very smart and logical, just not in the typical way, she applies it to her interests only, not any of the other stuff since it would be just useless to her. Shes trained herself to be very very good at connecting the dots and figuring things out (whether they have substance or not).

And Emmeline Vance.. I gonna be honest I don't know much about her because I don't see much about her, just her name is mentioned. From what I gather, shes very smart and preppy, in the "popular" group. Her relationship with the Valkyries varies in different accounts, but I personally think between 1st-4th year her group and theirs did not like each other and were almost catty (typical middle school drama), but she eventually got closer with them, and they with her. I think her ship with Mary is really cute from what I've seen!

Explanation: I think whenever he saw you, he thought you were like very, very gorgeous. He thought you were one of those athletic girls that would maybe be a little bit too good for him, but he still wanted to shoot his shot anyway. He really loves the color of your hair and I think that he’s definitely written poetry about how pretty you are and then never actually showed it to you because he’s so embarrassed of it. he almost thinks that you’re a dream because of the fact that you can are so perfect for him. You’re really kind which he always adores as a quality in someone because the world is already so unfair and cruel. Why can’t there be more people like you and that’s something that I think he would wonder consistently you’re also very smart and get good grades so I think he would love talking about things with you and like study dates would absolutely be something very common in your relationship: and he would love discussing tests or whenever you guys go into English together I think that he would like discussing the novel that you both read and make jokes about it with you. I don’t know. I just really see you guys being kind of academically based, but nothing too extreme like you don’t always do study dates and things like that. I just think you guys would find your classes, genuinely interesting and be able to relate to that and kind of a way that no one else in the gang can. He can talk about nearly anything he wants and he feels free to not be judged. It was just something kind of rare in his life that you can give him. I also think that he thinks it’s hilarious. You can’t hide your feelings at all and really deeply appreciates that because he’s so used to masking his own feelings and hiding his own feelings about certain things and being told to not be so sensitive so he finds it insanely refreshing that you never hide your feelings. I feel like he would also love photography and would love taking photos of landscapes because I think he finds landscapes and sunsets the most satisfying things to take photos of, but he would also take photos of you with a beautiful background. I don’t think he’s too much of a person himself. I think he plays football in his neighborhood and it was one of the things that could do altogether without fighting too hard, but he would absolutely come to all your games and support you. I think he relates to enjoying classics more than more modern books on another level. I think that you guys would definitely have so much fun reading them together and having your own little mini book club and then talking to each other about it afterwards, and I think you both go on deep rants about how much better the old classics are and how old writers used to have soul and modern writers just write whatever they want and I don’t know. I just think you guys would be really really passionate about that. He’s not the greatest cook, but I think he would enjoy it with you and if you actually managed to make something good together, I think he would be so proud of himself, but he would be way more proud of you. he also thinks the piano was a beautiful instrument. I also think he’s just addicted to it whenever you play the piano like he could stand there for hours and just listen you play and be all right and if you ever play the song that he requested, he would just die like I don’t know. my thoughts on the first throne of glass book

so i finally started reading throne of glass two days ago and i just finished it and i rlly loved the first one! i didn’t start with assassin’s blade because i’m following the reading order sjm herself suggested. but i figured i’d give my thoughts on the book just for funsies. this isn’t like a review really just what i’m feeling abt the series thus far.

for quality i’d give it a 6/10 but for how much fun i had reading i give it a 9/10 and i care WAYYYY more about entertainment personally lmao. so overall i’d probably give it like an 8/10.

spoilers under the cut, obvi (including some from later books bc i know some spoilers)

• why are there so many exclamation points

• so i’m gonna be honest i’m beyond confused about celaena’s name. bc everything i’ve ever seen about tog talked about some chick called aelin. now i’m just kind of assuming they’re the same person somehow but i have no idea what’s going on in that regard

• it was an enjoyable read but you can def kinda tell it was written when sjm was younger lol. but i know the writing is just going to continue to get better so it didn’t bother me THAT much, though i must say i’m anxious to get to the later books for that reason

• this book was FUNNYYYY omfg dorian and especially celaena had me laughing out loud at times. i hope the books stay this funny

• I LOVE CELAENA SM. like that’s my girl fr fr. thus far feyre is still my fav sjm fmc but honestly celaena has potential to change my mind

• i also love dorian and chaol and i’m not gonna lie i lowkey ship her with both of them (which is a rarity for me usually i’m very passionate about one or the other in a love triangle). but that may be because i’m aware i should not get attached to either ship LMAO

• speaking of chaol i spent half the book pronouncing his name as chowl in my head which made him very hard to take seriously. but honestly i feel like that is 100% sjm’s fault bc the fuck you mean chaol is pronounced kale!? how was i supposed to know that

• i’m curious when more magic elements are gonna show up. like i thought this was another fae series am i wrong there? i mean elena was fae so. maybe i just need patience (but i’m gonna be sad asf if some sort of fae plot twist erases my bffs dorian, chaol, and nehemia from the story)

• okay but seriously once again what is up with the exclamation points. why are they so many. like it was genuinely jarring in the first few chapters. idk if it faded later in the book or if i just got used to it but it genuinely bothered me for a while. pls tell me this isn’t a thing in the later books bc i don’t remember it being an issue in acotar

• i think challenges and shit in books are so fun so i loved that the whole book was centered around it, lowkey wish we saw more of the challenges tbh

• that freak monster that cain was summoning is the stuff of nightmares. i already forgot what it was called but i made the grave error of googling fanart of it and it was actually terrifying

anyways that’s all i can rlly think of for now but i’m excited to keep reading! i’m super curious about celaena’s past because i can tell there’s sooo much we don’t know yet, but assassin’s blade (which i believe is at least partially her past? but maybe i’m wrong) isn’t until after crown of midnight so i’ll just have to keep wondering lol. but i’m very excited for crown of midnight i feel like shit is about to get very messy with her being the champion

Bakugou returned home to the 1A dorms at nearly 11:00 on a rainy Saturday night. He was supposed to stay at his parents’ for the weekend but him and his mother didn’t see eye to eye too often.

It was almost like she was going out of her way to point out every little thing Bakugou hated about himself. All until he decided he was fed up and walked back to the dorms in the cold in rain.

Bakugou was freezing, his clothes were wet, his socks were soggy, and he was doing this frustrated, angry crying. Which he hated, but he was dealing with what he could fix right now by changing into dry clothes and flopping into bed with a sigh.

Bakugou pulled his phone out and sent kirishima a quick text, ‘Come to my room please’. And Kiri received the text, he just didn’t reply since he didn’t know his boyfriend came home and was a bit confused.

But after a couple minutes, “Hey man. You good? I thought you were at your mom and dads?” Kirishima questioned softly as he closed the door behind him and sat at the foot of the bed. Bakugou rarely asked him over this late if he wasn’t already there so, his boyfriend senses were going off that something was wrong. Bakugous red, tear stained eyes was also a good tell.

“I was, but y’know, my mom and all.” Bakugou shrugged with his head turned away from Kirishima. He sniffled and Kirishima was pretty sure his hear just broke right there.

“Awe, Kats. I’m so sorry.” Kirishima spoke softly as he scooted next to Bakugou. He ran his hand through Bakugou’s hair a little, “Is there anything I can do? To make you feel better at least?”

“Its okay. And I don’t know right now.” The blond shrugged, perfectly happy with his boyfriend just being here for now. Although, Bakugou did start to feel a little nervous after a few minutes.

“Hey, Kiri, could you, uh- …do the thing?” Bakugou asked almost shyly. Kiri gave the most confused laugh as he looked at his boyfriend.

“What thing?” The red head asked and Bakugou could feel the heat creeping up his neck and to his cheeks.

“Y’know, the thing.” Bakugou shrugged, Kirishima quickly catching on due to how uncharacteristically flustered he was. He chuckled.

“You seriously can’t say ‘tickle’?” Kirishima laughed and the blush on Bakugou’s face increased as he gave a frustrated groan.

“Would you just do it, you asshole?” Bakugou growled, trying and failing to glare at kirishima. He just laughed when Bakugou glared at him.

“Yeah, I will.” Kirishima grinned, swinging a leg over Bakugou and pinning him down. “Heavy or nice tickles?” He asked.

Bakugou thought for a moment then shrugged, “start nice, I guess.” He said quietly. Kirishima had only done something like this a handful of times, and Bakugou could swear it got more flustering each time somehow.

“Alright.” Kirishima said mostly to himself before gently scratching at Bakugou’s sides. His breath hitched slightly as he fought off any giggles that threatened to make themselves known. Even with inviting his boyfriend to his room to tickle him, Bakugou still had some sort of reputation to hold up. Right?

Bakugou’s plans were quickly ruined as soon as Kirishima pinched the middle of his ribs a couple times. “Shihihit, nohoho.” He quietly giggled as he squirmed slightly.

Kirishima chuckled slightly at the sight of Bakugou attempting to get rid of his smile. “You wanted me to do this. You should laugh.” He smiled, suddenly digging into Bakugou’s underarms.

Bakugou threw his head back, absolutely cackling and thrashing around slightly, “NOHOHOHOHO, KIHIHIHIRIHI! YOHOHOU- SHIHIHIT!” He wanted to be annoyed with Kiri for getting him to laugh, for tickling him. But Kiri was right, he really did ask for this, so he couldn’t complain too much.

“You’re such a dork when you get tickled.” Kirishima said calmly. Bakugou’s laugh went slightly frantic for a moment. The other just smiled.

Kiri lightened the tickles once again, gently tracing circles into either side of Bakugou’s ribs as he leaned down next to his ear, “Tickle, tickle Katsuki~” he whispered in Bakugou’s ear and he hiked his shoulders up.

“Noho, shuhut uhuhuhuhup!” He laughed and shoved at Kirishima’s shoulder a little. Kiri smiled and planted a small kiss on Bakugou’s neck.

“You’re laugh is so pretty.” Kirishima practically melted whenever he heard Bakugou’s laugh and right now wasn’t any different. Bakugou’s laugh went all pitchy for a moment as he tried to shake his head to get Kiri away from his neck.

“Fuhuhuck no it ihis nohohohot!” Bakugou tried to sound angry but with his laughter and the fact he asked to be tickled, it wasn’t too effective.

Kirishima smiled, “It is, and the next time I tickle you, I’ll do it till you say how pretty your laugh is. But for now, you look exhausted so.” he gave Bakugou’s sides one last squeeze then moved to lay beside his quietly giggling boyfriend.

They didn’t talk for a minute as Bakugou recovered. “Hey, Kiri?” He spoke up and grabbed Kiri’s hand.

Kirishima smiled a little then looked at Bakugou, “Yeah?”

“Thanks, I guess. I appreciate it, or something like that.” Bakugou shrugged and looked away from Kirishima who just chuckled.

“You’re so weird” Kirishima said as he leaned over to kiss Bakugou’s cheek. He moved slightly to put an arm over Bakugou and pulled him close.

Kirishima stayed in Bakugou’s room the rest of the night and just cuddled him. If Bakugou was upset again at any point, he knew Kiri would be there for him.

oh also what are your thoughts on that scene in last arc - when he xuan diguised as hua cheng comes to help them out for a bit and gives back sqx's fan - and when he sees sqx being himself still, his talking way and brag?, his laugh/antiques. he snorts/ humphs/ scoffs. honestly to me i loved that seen i just don't know how to explain my thoughts on hx reaction to that but i loved it.

Sorry for taking so long to answer, this landed while I was on my way to Boston and I wanted to wait until I was back on my laptop to answer!

I also really like the scene where He Xuan gives back the fan because of how subtle it is--it's the kind of thing that you can miss if you're not paying attention. I think I probably missed it the first time I read the book and had to go back to verify. Doing it undercover is such a He Xuan way to handle it, too. He spends most of the book in disguise so it feels right that a big gesture like this would also be done in disguise.

My thoughts on them as a ship are mostly that I don't like the fanon focus on them as cute silly girlfriends. From what I've seen in fandom, their female forms are kind of just taken as representation for its own sake, but I think what it's doing as a metaphor is showing how both He Xuan and Qingxuan are not who they say they are. It's almost like a fun game to Qingxuan to flit around in pretty dresses and act like the arbiter of justice, but he's not even supposed to be there and the fact that he is there is actually the ultimate injustice. (Compared to Ling Wen, meanwhile, who is forced to present as male to even be taken seriously, Qingxuan just seems frivolously out of touch.) And He Xuan is obviously pretending to be Ming Yi, so there it's just like... a double reveal about "she's not who we thought she was." It's all disguises to He Xuan anyway, so why not throw some gender on there too.

Anyway, Shuangxuan aren't really that interesting to me as a ship until Qingxuan is being held prisoner in the creepy underwater prison--to me, they're a darkship that I would compare to Xuexiao in MDZS. I guess that's like... the moment that they're honest with each other? He Xuan reveals who and what he really is, and Qingxuan comes to the understanding that he didn't ascend on his own merit. That's when it's interesting to ask "so what if they're attracted to each other?" because now they have to contend with the issues.

The thing is that both of them care about each other, which is important to me for a ship (and also something that I think tends to be dismissed by people who don't ship it). Qingxuan clearly feels remorse and understands that he stole something irreplacable from He Xuan (who he genuinely saw as a friend while he was Ming Yi), but He Xuan doesn't blame Qingxuan and doesn't go out of his way to hurt him even when he had the opportunity to. It's not really enough for them to reconcile, but it sure is enough to play around with a doomed and toxic post-canon relationship.

Lastly... ghosts in TGCF can disperse if they give up on whatever's tying them to the world. I think Xuan Ji gives up her resentment for Pei Ming and is able to disperse and move on since that was what kept her there as a fierce ghost. He Xuan's revenge is supposed to be what keeps him around, but he doesn't disperse even after enacting his perfect revenge plot. His story is deliberately left unfulfilled because it's supposed to show that revenge is unfulfilling, but that also leaves a really nice opening for He Xuan to rediscover what it means to love instead of hate.

Also, Qingxuan definitely ascends for real sometime post-canon so they have time to work it out. MXTX herself told me so in a dream
