as promised, here's some close-ups of the comic for image quality's sake, and other screenshots i rescued from the community whiteboard (and something else)

first up another sketch of mystery gender-ambiguous being. (please send me more name ideas for them if you got one- i like to hear em! (reminder it's the side character that appeared for <10 seconds in AvM Ep. 30))

analysing haikaveh's body language and distance in a parade of providence compared to cyno's story quest 2

in Cyno’s Story Quest II Kaveh seems secure in his position as Alhaitham's equal, and as such, Alhaitham is regarded as Kaveh's equal in turn. There is no reference to the superiority of a senior's expertise as “correctness” has been disregarded, and with this, the unequal power imbalance (as discussed here). The two have surpassed this issue on their road to reconciliation. The lack of titles within this story quest serves as a means of equality between the two now that scholarly pride is no longer an obstacle between them.

As such it is interesting to (over)analyse Haikaveh’s body language and distance within A Parade of Providence and in Cyno’s story quest 2

They are the most distant within A Parade of Providence, in which the two are always separated by a physical barrier, such as a desk:

or standing at a distance from one another and on opposite sides, preventing them from facing each other directly:

or with Alhaitham being elevated upon a platform, whilst kaveh is on the ground below:

Within the event, the only time the two are physically on an even level is at the end, in which Alhaitham tells Kaveh that they have move past being “wrong” or “right”. In this, the only time in which they are physically open with each other, and on equal elevation levels, is when the potentiality for the overturning of scholarly pride is discussed, and therefore there exists the potential of a true, mutual understanding.

Comparatively, in the flashback scene within cyno’s story quest 2, Kaveh is observed on two occasions to sit on the table rather than opposite or next to Alhaitham on a divan. This ensures that the two directly face each other:

This can be seen again in the House of Daena, where, when studying, the two sit on opposite sides of the table, facing each other, as they are of equal standing:

In terms of equality, this can be speculated as physical manifestation of their aligned perspectives. Rather than one existing on an elevated level, through one sitting and the other standing, or directly sitting next to each other (which can restrict the observation of the others’ gestures and body language), the two are now on equal standing.

The only time the two are shown sitting next to each other is in Puspa’s Café, but rather than this being an indicator of inequality, it serves as a reinforcement of mutual intimacy, as the two are paired together rather than being separated in the large gathering

In this sense, this equality in elevation levels can also physically advocate for the open communication the two have now established. This can be seen in their current in game relationship as the two now fully physically reveal themselves, alongside their thoughts, to the other, rather than concealing themselves with defensive body language, and double entendre in speech. They are now open and honest with each other - mutually equals in all respect!!

Layton community, with great pleasure I bring you, mysterium chimaerae.

a monsterified Hershel! the physiology is based on a mix of various animals, but the most defining are the Harris's hawk, the tawny owl, foxes, felines, and a bit of deer. More design doodles under the cut, along with a long physiology ramble.

He can stand bipedal, as his back talons are strong enough for it, but it's easier to stand and move quadrupedal. The main body is very slim and flexible, with elasticated skin (meaning muscle + bone is slightly visible, but this is normal). Antlers are mostly for display, but can be used for ramming in an emergency. The wings stay tucked to the body when not in use, protecting him from the elements. The planar disc around his elongated feline-esque face- paired with the ear-like tufts- allows for precise hearing. Four whiskers, two either side of the jaw, give slightly more acute sense. Eyes fix forward permanently, and head turns to watch. The midriff and stomach are fairly receded, while the ribcage and pelvis are fairly sharp but quite short and somewhat collapsible, allowing him to fit into small spaces. The neck, body and tail portions of the spinal column can move independently for greater mobility.

Front legs are long and thin, while back legs are short and strong. This means that he stands full height with back arched, chest forward and shoulders back, and "slinks" with front half rolled forward when walking. When standing bipedal, his front legs come up to the chest to provide balance, the wings lay down rather than flat to the sides, and the back legs splay slightly to provide adequate stance.

The coat is layered. The thinnest fur is dark tan, and very soft and fine. On top of that is the orange fur, which is a little thicker, and mostly for warmth. Then, the topmost dark layer is feathers, which are hydrophobic. Between these, sharing characteristics of both feather and fur, is the chestnut brown covering, which is also slightly water repellant and is quite coarse. Antlers have a thin layer of velvet; the purpose of which is unknown, as he appears to be fully matured. Wings have a black top coat with a singular orange "splotch" each, and an orange underside beholding eye-like markings, possibly for intimidation.

When running, he reaches incredibly high speeds comparable to that of a large feline— the back legs provide driving power, while the front legs, wings and tail provide directional control. Flight is mostly gliding, but he can gain traction in air with enough effort.

Diet is currently not fully known, but he has taken great interest in teas, fruits and vegetables, and carbohydrate-heavy plain foods, with the occasional sweeter meal.

Ohhh wait, no, it's not that he's not knowledgeable, it's just him definitely lying! Because disagreements? Regarding tenets of a religion? Impossible! Claude must be feigning ignorance and lying because that's all he does as a character! He's tricking the diligent Lorenz into thinking things that aren't true, because Church Bad and Claude would never tell the truth!

I don’t know the plot, and the stage play isn’t canon to game lore, but I just wanted you to know because of your Norton vs Ithaqua comics. It’s hilarious if their stage play characters’ relationship mirrors that of the ones in your comics.

First the Nymph Awards face-off, and now this! There was also a tiny tidbit in the Lawson collaboration comic recently. Oh my gosh I'm actually going insane by all of it! How do they keep getting pitted against each other?? I love to see it though! XD

I'm really excited by the next stage play and that Norton and Ithaqua will be the main characters!! Super curious about how they'll interact! Also excited to see Melly and Alva make a cameo as well! ;0; I just wish I could watch all the stage play episodes! ;<; I've seen some clips here and there, and some of it looks absolutely hilarious! Please, I want to seeeeee!! It's agony!! 😭😭
