just constantly thinking about percy telling vex that he’d like to think they’re all better than they think they are (except her brother, of course) . constantly thinking about when vex tells percy he’s a good man and he gets awkward and flustered and returns that she’s a good woman and when she gets as awkward and flustered he goes “see. it’s not very nice is it.” percy shouting to ripley that he forgives her and vex carves forgive into the wood of her bow. vex tells percy to take off his mask and percy comes across vex in tears and scrubbing at her armour. god. the campaign starts and percy is making arrows as flirting and getting kisses in return and the campaign ends and exhausted and knowing it won’t be a want that will be fulfilled percy admits he never wants to make another weapon and vex equally exhausted affirms that he’ll never Have to. and god . god . opposites attract is great or whatever but the deliciousness of dynamics where the characters hold up a mirror to one another where they get to shed the burden of self and see someone Like Them as someone good or capable of being better and Falling In Love. and that love being a pathway to them coming to grips with their own image and their own capacity to be better. and that the fact that the person they fall for being someone so Familiar means that they see through each other’s shit. that percy sees that vex has fallen into the trap of Nobility tricking people into thinking that makes them inherently better and giving her the only whitestone title someone has to earn beyond selection or marriage or birth. that vex sees percy forgive ripley and discusses the importance of that choice but reminds him that it’s just as important that he forgive himself.

This monologue always breaks my heart. He sounds so resigned and sad.

I wonder if that’s part of what drives him, that he knows that even if he can’t prevent the cycle of violence, maybe he can at least bring it to some closure.

I was wondering if you have any advice on how to draw people kissing?

Hope this doesn't come across as weird or anything but when you draw characters, whether they're swapping spit or just being close in some other way, you're so good at capturing a feeling of, like, intimacy? and it's just one of the many aspects i admire about your art🌸^-^

aww thank you..🥰💛💛💛 i might not be the drawing kisses genius cus i don't even do it all that often but i'll explain a bit of how i go about with closeness between characters and such relying on my prev drawings; aggressive and hatred filled closeness included, because i think it's just as important (to me at least) i hope it makes sense lol

generally it's awesome to just take ideas for these sorts of things from the most random places.. other people's art, movies and stuff u watched, etc etc. i'm usually really quick to pinpoint in my mind what exactly i like in a scene of this variety and how i can flip it and turn it like a pancake. i'm a person that takes all of my thinking capacity to come up with the right expressions to convey a mood and where to place the hands. writing all of that has me feeling like the bald body language guy from youtube

I always talk about the visual changes to Vyrm and Grimm over the years but ngl the biggest thing for me is just how much more freeing their new designs are. Before, they were very angular, sharp, they had almost beak-like mouths, their proportions were less human-like. And those are not bad design traits at all, I think with all context removed they were still good designs.

But for what I'm trying to do with my art, all the emotion and softness that I want to portray? They were kind of terrible. There wasn't much emotion to be found in those blank eyes or the wide mouths, their bodies were stiff and cold looking. Making them both more "fleshy" and, for the lack of a better word, furry-like, really pushed their expressiveness so much further. It's soooo fun to experiment with different mouth shapes during various expressions, and actually seeing the direction in which they're looking in helps make them look more alive and less empty and alien.

I do sometimes get comments that they look uncanny or weird, or that I just turned them into furries. And I could see why it would be off-putting from an outsider perspective. But as the artist, I'm so glad that they are the way they are, and I'm so proud of the progress I was able to achieve thanks to the direction I took their designs in.

The thing is though that i want to know the scent of your favorite soap so i can run you a bath, i want to know which old and worn shirt is your favorite to wear as pajamas. I wanna know which show to turn on when you’re sad and which to turn on when you’re happy. I wanna be familiar enough to get you your favorite snack and make your favorite meal. I just wanna learn all the little things and then spend every day after that relearning them as they shift with time.
