@hustledbones tagged me for 5 songs I've been listening to recently and I decided I won't go to my repeat playlist to spare y'all all the bruce that's there atm. instead I'll give you some of that recently added stuff that's been playing a lot. here you go :)
apparently deadletter will play a show in my town this year, I had never heard of them before, but saw them advertised by the venue and liked the vibe. also really like their song the snitching hour. alt-indie with saxophone, ofc I'm gonna be down for that
unfortunately hey team dissolved last year and I just learned about them because it used to be a new friend's band. also really like their song o.k. sis. alt-rock-ish indie vibe
old friend played it for me in the car during an intense music exchange session, first reaction from me: that's a bob dylan impersonator! apparently this dope lemon dude is already quite successful. good for him
more saxophone! did not expect that. new music nerd friend is a big thin lizzy fan, I checked that out and was surprised how good it is. and no, this is not a cover of that other dancing in the moonlight song (of which the best version is by king harvest from the 70ies btw, not toploader)
after all I'm still a country gal. dale is my newest addition of cowboys. am really enjoying this one about him not having the money his love deserves just yet and trying to make his darling stay and be patient till he can afford that bling
I would like to get a glimpse into the playlists of @finch-connor @cowboy-jules @lottie-starling and @brucefuckingspringsteen if y'all would be so kind :) no need to write fucking essays like I did, a simple list is mighty fine ❤️

One of the multitude of the Red and Chad arguments:
Red fed up with Chad’s antics: You can’t just make everyone like you! You’re not Chloe!
Chad: Not everyone likes Chloe.
Red: [Processing]
Red voice dangerously low: Not everyone likes Chloe?
Chad: Yeah it’s common-
Red pulling out her card deck: Names. I want names and I want them right now.

I can’t include them all so here’s a combo of ‘came to mind first,’ ‘talked about positively most often by fans,’ and ‘stuck in my head’.
Public Apology Big Iron isn’t here. There were a lot that didn’t make the cut but that one specifically I stg I put in and only realized after posting had not. It was 100% meant to be on this list and I’ve failed us.

something that peeves me in fiction – in a setting where society that hasn't mostly eliminated scarcity, anyway – is when someone really kindhearted takes in a near stranger in need (e.g. orphan, ex slave) and that person is their only project to whom they can give a lot of care. irl I feel like everyone who's exceptionally nice, or at least bad at drawing a line for their own health, has a full case load and is close to burnout
I don't mind this at all when there's a good plot reason for why X should be helping Y in particular and isn't already overbooked; I feel some ugh when X is depicted as someone who'd always help people in Y's shoes but has mysteriously evaded all other supplicants.
I'm pro-fantasy but this kind of moral fantasy strikes me as a bit uglier than the others: you can be a nurturing figure who gives unconditional help without running something so unphotogenic as a vetting interview or cost/benefit analysis, but you'll never be overwhelmed, either

"Marcille is gay because she felt Falin up in the bath" boring. Anyone as neurotic as Marcille could act like that.
The biggest canon proof that Marcille is a lesbian is her extremely comphet fantasies of chaste and chivalric men.
Like this is just what lesbians who haven't realized they're lesbians imagine they want from men.
Marcille should not be at the club, but she should be home watching Pride and Prejudice (2005) and Revolutionary Girl Utena.

You know what, I totally get why Dan Howell had to take step away from his youtube channel. Like imagine you start making youtube videos because you want to bond with one of your friends who is really into making youtube videos and accidentally launch yourself to legit fame in your home country and you've essentially never had a life without people watching you perform it.
