#persona 4 #p4 #persona 4 golden #p4g #hanamura yosuke #souyo #this scene revealed so much of their relationship in one go #yosuke has already long been established as yu's confidant at this point but this moment really drove it home!#yosuke anticipates each of yu's behaviour #but even though he disagrees with it he doesn't judge yu for it #even going so far as to help yu hide it from the rest of the team #its debatable whether thats necessarily a good thing #but it demonstrates yosuke's unwavering loyalty to yu while also making clear his disappointment #and of course yosuke has much to feel sad and disappointment over - one the one hand it felt like yu didnt trust him/them enough #he phrased it as a matter of “you should trust us more” as opposed to “you should trust ME more” because talking about trust in the singula #would hit too close to home and risk making too many demands of yu. demands that yosuke didnt feel he was allowed to make #afterall why would yu trust him but not the others? but the team is made up of other more reliable people than he was #and bringing up the team gives yosuke a defensive cover #so as usual it's part of yosuke's self doubt creeping in #but theres also honesty here - yosuke wasnt here to accost him or be angry at him; he really showed up just to make sure that yu was safe #and once hes confirmed it yosuke falls back to his usual habits of cracking a joke to lighten the mood #to end the conversation on a joke feels like its as much a service for yu as it is for himself #we know yosuke tends to joke to make the people around him feel better and i think in this instance he was also trying to cheer yu up #whether it was to make up for yosuke approaching him or to alleviate any guilt yu might feel #or even to manage whatever it was that adachi might have said to yu (which yosuke undoubtedly picked up on)#yosuke doesn't let his disagreement with yu get in the way of supporting his partner #to some extent i also wonder if this loyalty was also coloured by their previous interaction with namatame and Yosuke's anger #it's been less than a week since that incident after all and i think theres this contradiction for yosuke #and i think there was probably a contradiction in Yosuke's heart in that moment: he doesn't trust himself to make good judgements #but as much as he'd rather take yu's lead in this instance he also feels like his leader was wrong here

#Handsome Solas #“Well better go greet the commoners."#Lavellan holding the door ready to slam it into his face like Spongebob #the entire muffled argument with Varric was just them arguing back and forth about what work he had done #tldr: he looks great but he's too handsome #he lost a whole lot of character in his face with this game imo #part of his charm was that he was just this guy who was super passionate about the fade and history and spirits #that was what made him compelling/attractive even before the big reveal at the end - until trespasser he was just Solas to our character #he wasn't super handsome - don't get me wrong he's attractive but datv took some liberties to make him *more* attractive #and i feel like they made him wayyy too conventionally handsome in this game and he lost out because of it #*he* was attractive by himself - he didn't need the face lift #he had a really unique face and simple outfits to sell this 'apostate hobo' persona / before switching to the cool trespasser armour #but it was still *his* face and its his face in a game in which your own character kind of loses their own as head of the inquisition #and that mirrors Solas and to me making him so hot does his character a disservice? Transition journal and measurements update for April!

And uh. Huh. I don't have much to talk about, to be honest.

I feel like I've finally reached the "steady state" of my transition. I've found an injection dose that works, T is suppressed, I don't have levels to confirm it but as far as estrogen levels are concerned, I feel like they're pretty good and a test would confirm that. My measurements are continuing to trend in femme directions, but they don't tell the full story. I think my body shape has changed a lot visually as well- eg, chest measurements are from fuller, more well formed breasts, my upper body is actually becoming smaller (I talked about this last month as well, there's a few cartilaginous areas that I think have actually shrunk) and everything is just... good!

Socially, I've come out to a lot more people, but its still not 100% "public" information, and I still boymode on the daily. That's gonna change really soon- probably by the end of June.

I guess the only big question left is when I want to start progesterone. Its 100% something I want to do, and my provider has said she can prescribe it whenever... but idk. I'm worried about starting too early. As you might be aware, its recommended to wait 6 months on E to start progesterone. This is because progesterone receptors are only expressed (produced) by your cells when they are signaled by E to do so. If there's no receptors, the progesterone will remain unbound, and is more likely to be metabolized into the potent androgen DHT. There's also anecdotes that its best to wait until you've gotten as much breast development from E as possible before starting prog, and idk. I wanna be cautious. I'm being patient with this.

All of this is unfounded, and largely anecdotal, so take it with a grain of salt.

So I still have no idea when I want to start. Probably not for another couple months. I want to see how far I can get on E alone.

So uh. Yeah. Idk. I don't have much to say. Things are going smoothly, and steadily. I'm taking my summer off but have shit to finish up in lab before then. Once that happens I'll probably actually try to get some nice creative works out, including work on the stuff I've written, and that fully-outlined, partially-scripted podcast I've sidelined for... jesus christ, almost a year now.

#random thoughts #let me daydream about batman in peace #love the dynamic between spiderman and deadpool #it's that kind of dynamic i love where two people have power over each other in different ways #like spiderman is a well-loved public figure and deadpool's idol while deadpool is a dangerous mercenary with regeneration powers #physically deadpool probably outmatches spiderman through sheer dogged perseverance #while in the public eye spiderman is more well-liked AND deadpool is feverishly obsessed with him #i'm gonna keep forgetting the hyphen between spider and man btw fuck the world #loving the idea of a spiderman who KNOWS deadpool can do better and believes in him while deadpool gives him a space where HE can be himsel #like spiderman has so many masks he has to put on around other people #i think deadpool should be one of the few people he can truly let himself loose around #yknow before he can get to a point where he can reveal he's peter parker #also i think peter parker in his ideal state suffers from severe identity and self confidence issues #like he thinks spiderman is a seperate persona he puts on which is superior to himself in every way #(okay seperate thought: DID spiderman. the spider bite being so traumatic it led to him creating a split personality to cope.)#(or separate. whatever.)#also age difference. peter should be in his mid-twenties while deadpool should be in his thirties. need more power imbalance #also they're both sa survivors and their personalities could be interpreted as them handling it in vastly different ways #with deadpool being hypersexual and spiderman being flirtatious yet distant and peter parker being borderline celibate #though honestly i could leave spiderman being an sa survivor given it was a whole 'gay people are all predators' psa #also i think spiderman should have been held back in high school. due to struggles relating to being spiderman #so he graduated late and now he's going to community college #peter parker has the luxury of going incognito. wade wilson will always be stared at no matter what he's wearing #deadpool who every superhero hates. spiderman who every superhero organization is trying to recruit desperately #also i think peter should admire wade. physically. built like a brick shithouse that one #also the third act low point CAN'T be about spiderman feeling guilty because deadpool kills people #okay? it's overdone. we've seen it. it's lame #i prefer when their opposing views on murder are treated in a more 'death penalty or no' way rather than assuming deadpool is always wrong #because spiderman's idyllic 'people can change' beliefs can be just as wrong as deadpool's 'assholes deserve to die' beliefs #and spiderman has definitely killed people are you kidding me. both accidentally and on purpose

Some of these guys have been doing this for decades! There's tons of heroes that have gone to pretty extreme lengths to be Completely Imperceptible in civilian life.

Don't you think it's scarier, after all is said and done, to sit there and think I didn't notice a thing? I wouldn't have ever realised? I would never have known? To know that someone you were familiar with - close with, even! - had this whole other personality and skillset and powers and experiences and life just behind the curtain, and they hid it so completely you didn't even see it was there.

'I always knew there was something off' what if you didn't. How world shaking would it be to be so utterly blindsided? To know that this person had somehow learned to so deceptive?

#Strongly inspired by the dp x dc where Danny knows what up IMMEDIATELY or a bat clocks Danny as super suspicious within mins of meeting #Or the amount of reveal fics caused by the hero slipping up in some stupid way and getting themselves doxxed against their will #Like come on!! Shake it up! Stir the pot! Not a slow and gradual build up of suspicion and stress #But two high speed trains coming at right-angles and the audience is the only one who can see the incoming crash #Twist the knife in if you want. Make it HURT. Make it completely rewrite what they believed.#Short ID reveals are great for this because you can SEE the ripple effects spreading out as the story ends.
