Can you talk about trans!Curly a little bit more? I'm curios if you have any headcanons and the like

It's just such a thing in my mind because it adds a truthful sadness and differing aspect to mouthwashing.
If Curly was trans it adds the horror of the horribly selfish thought he could have easily been in Anya's situation. It could've been him but it wasn't and he so conflicted on the pit it put in his stomach that brings and the shameful relief it wasn't. In this scenario he is friends with Jimmy for a long time still. Jimmy likely knew him pretransition. Maybe he gave Curly weird looks then, maybe they never stopped after, maybe they seemed meaner. They are guys now, bros, both of them are. He doesn't really have to worry what those looks mean anymore, Jimmy just has that face with him sometimes. It's recontextualizing a lot of things for him that he was in denial about or too ashamed to admit. How naive he was being and how he let that get another person hurt.
Specifically with Anya, it's he knows the dread and fear she's feeling. He can understand it because he had to live with it for a good portion of his life, he knows it cause he still does, just in a slightly different way. It makes him think of all the times he's been alone with Jimmy, all the times he's been way more drunk off his ass and not remember the night, Jimmy was always with him the next day. Makes him think of the comments he would laugh off both because that's what guys do but because that part of being a girl says to laugh so Jimmy doesn't do something. It's the selfish realization that he was never safe and he's uncertain now too. Mad at himself for forgeting that feeling, espcially since for a long time he would've been considered the only woman on a crew (with all that implies) for a long time.
He should've taken those blinders off, step back into that position for just a moment and it's so much more painful that Anya likely came to him because he should've gotten it. Those thoughts don't leave his mind after the crash when he's in an even more vulnerable position than she was...
#this is less headcanons and more my thoughts of the intersectional horror this brings to mouthwashing which is also a thing it#already has but more directly in the mix vs just the class gender and positional struggle. like the idea he waited to confront Jimmy becaus#he could conceptualize the crime better because of experience with womanhood and also how it would've destroyed him in terms of being trans#like its weird to word as a comparison but thats kinda how empathy works as in an understanding and ability to project through aspects#like you found out your friend who has always had weird feelings about and relating to you is a rapist and got one of your other friend#pregnant and is now being openly hostile and aggressive towards you. You have only a few days to really think on all of this all the years#with him and how many oppurtunites he had that you blame yourself for giving him both in life and to do to you. You are starting to#realize that he may have done what he did to Anya because it was no longer viable with him or because of weird transphobia/homophobia#from Jimmy and god its so much and he should've know better and what did Jimmy do then - c r a s h#he is at such a small amount of mercy to Jimmy now and he can't protect Anya and it's terrifying because i know and you know that Jimmy is#giving him those weird looks again...#like it adds another layer of horror to things and while I don't think Jimmy would do anything to Curly it's heavily implied he targeted he#because of relatively more important position and getting Curly to have doubts about him as a power play and Curly knows Jimmy well enough#that him immediately exerting his authority and power would set him off after already having been mad about it and even when doing#damage control it still set him off. like its the horror of accidenlty siding with your oppresser and hurting other like you only to then b#stabbed in the back again by the person who took advantage of your nature like its so complext but my actual trans curly headcanons#are just a little bit happier like i imagine he was the first on the boys soccer team and a star player. maybe he and jimmy even picked ou#his first offical “boy” clothes and Jimmy picked most so he looked like the grungiest white boy but she was a boy so it didn't matter cause#it was with his friend who accepted him and I bet on the bed he looks back at all those moments and notices the little details that his#friend wasnt actually so happy but he can't be certain when he started looking so bitter or hes just imagining out of paranoia cause he jus#cant know and even if he could he wouldn't want to ask like god thinking about Anya and probably being a little glad if not heartbroken#that she did get out of it in the end like trans curly and anya destroy me even more its so upsetting like he didn't realize how much he go#you girl and waited to act like it was cowardice but then would she not realize what hes realizing? should that be a grace or more of a#condemnation in her mind like what are her thoughts? espically during the scene Jimmy hits Curly like she had to hear and what did she thin#they are tormented in a similar hells with the same demon and its fascinating#mouthwashing#mouthwashing game#anya mouthwashing#curly mouthwashing#jimmy mouthwashing

the skull here is actually modeled closely after a deer skull, just compressed to fit a dog's overall face shape. also tried to make the eyes a little less wide-set than a deer's without making them completely front-facing like a dog's. here's the rest of the (still un-rendered) body:

#yes dante likes sweet and doesnt smoke and gets impaled regularly#dante also has grown to learn to accept and take responsability for the actions of one's family and blood#and is fundamentally a kind man that likes people even if he doesnt feel like he belong with them#hes also a master swordsman. an expert gunslinger. well versed in martial arts. and can master every weapon under the goddamn sun#yes vergil has done morally revolting things and is kind of awkward by conventional social standards#hes also a very traumatized man thats constantly struggling with his humanity#and he can literally cut anything including SPACE and summon swords out of thin air#yes nero is technically the most well-adjusted of his family#he also struggled with his self-worth because he is something that DID NOT BELONG anywhere due to his nature and heritage#and he had to find and take his place in the world on his own thanks to his strength and especially thanks to his heart#THEY ALL HAVE LAYERS MAN.#tagging later

i think its kinda funny that ibis paint is regarded as the Broke Artist App or whatever (as opposed to more mainstream programs like csp or procreate) because its free and because of how popular it is with phone + finger artists while im jusg sitting here having used ibis for a cool eight years on purpose.
like i have an ipad and an apple pencil and all theyre very nice and i absolutely could move to a more powerful program i have the resources to do so but my change averse brain has decided they like it here a lot and im not leaving
#not talking smack on phone and finger artists btw. some of my mutuals use their fingers and their art goes crazy i respect that so much#even when i did use my phone (most of 14 crush was done on a phone!) i still had to use a cheap rubber stylus hahaha#anyway maybe ill try procreate someday but also i hate learning new programs and i like ibis's brushes too much#fingers crossed that they add fully custom brushes someday though#like id love to be one of those artists that makes really cool art with ridiculous shapes and nobody even knows until they tell you#younger artists might not know this but modern ibis is STACKED compared to how it was in 2015#like i remember when clipping layers were first implemented. and they sucked. like they didnt fully go over the lower layer#so it just left a gross tiny outline around the shape#and there wasnt any border or text tools either#and there was a hard cap on layer count depending on your device's storage and the canvas size#modifying brushes wasnt even a thing HAHAHAHAH you just used what you had#anyway okiku reference window unrelated shes just there for something else im working on<3#bri talks#for the record all this is to say i think the smack talk towards ibis is pretty unwarranted#like yeah maybe its not as powerful as a lot of these fancy paid apps but i honestly think its insanely good for being a free program#i think getting rid of the ads costs more now than it did when i paid to get rid of them but i mean#free with ads is still a lot more than csp's ever gonna give you!!!!#(psst. secret from me to you! you wont get any ads if you disable the app's data usage and turn off wifi when you use it)#(alternatively just use airplane mode but you can still get texts and stuff the first way)

actually coolest thing about ebony is that not only are his eyelights solid white but they are also extremely teeny tiny which means if i dont color them & just leave them bone color i dont think a single person would actually notice
#trousled rambles#its such a small thing but yall have no idea how much work this saves me actually#do u have any idea how much extra steps it takes to color in eyelights in character portraits when they constantly move around#i have to color the entire eye socket shape just to not have 25 eye layers#and then also have different versions for half-lidded expressions of varying degrees#and thank god i can color in the eye sockets in the lineart itself because if they have real eyes its a fucking nightmare#but with this one i can just . erase a little dot. and then im done. what bliss#now that i think about it i dont think ive ever actually talked about all the little annoying stuff that goes into making talk sprites huh#um. it takes a lot of layer tricks#the most recent one for russ from like 2020 has 96 layers for about 9 poses if that puts anything into perspective lol#i dont even think i used all of em 😔

It really sucks that military, tactical, and similar stuff is so cool and frequently very useful because not only do their fandoms suck but they're also inherently tied to systems of oppression.
#i am not the only one to have this opinion i know#gosh it is so unfortunate#i got a molle backpack to replace my previous one and got into picking all the little modular pouches and things to stick on it#it's so nice#and it's pretty cleanly utilitarian#but I'm just like...yeah it's cop backpack#and all the tactical stuff out there is like ...ONG CARRY MORE AR MAGS#ok that's nice but you already have 8 ways to do that where are the tactical pouches you use for carrying water or food or medical supplies#or non-gun survival gear or edc stuff or admin shit like notebooks and pens and papers and maps#and it's always like...one pouch for this purpose buried 15 layers deep under more pistol and rifle mag pouches#BRO EVEN IN THE MILITARY YOU DO NOT NEED THIS MANY MAG POUCH VARIANTS#MAKE A FEW GOOD ONES OF A COUPLE SIZES AND JUST BE DONE#your average first responder or military operator do not need their weapon as often as they need 100 other things#watching cops and emts walk around with pockets full of whatever and then have a clipboard or laptop kicking around their vehicle like????#MAKE SOME GODDAMN HARDENED PHABLETS#tacticool#this is me being mad about how their notebook+pen pouches are bad#also i want little pouches for meds or other actual daily carry shit that i know EMTs and firefighters also carry#511 tactical has a ton of pouches for weaponry and not one glove strap#yknow#work and tactical gloves those things most every operator of every type kinda needs#like...impact resistant hand protection is huge

bagged a trial shift at a new pub just for my manager to immediately put on facebook if anyone wants an extra shift on wednesday. he knows what im doing
#he said GET YOUR ASS BACK HERE RN#lmfaoooo the notif came through literally as i put the phone down i was like 😳😳😳#like that 'CONNOR' tiktok audio like no king im not doing anythinggg haha wdym#anyway im a bit annoyed that the first place to get back to me from my applications was this one#bc im pretty sure their pay is still minimum wage and also my cousin worked a trial shift there once#and not only did they not pay him but they also never called him back or even emailed to politely turn him down#literally just used him for free labour and that was that#word of warning from a very tired waitress if ur thinking about starting: always take trial shifts with a pinch of salt#if the trial shift is longer than 2 hours they really really should be paying you and if they dont the odds are you got mugged off#also the woman on the phone after i said i worked at the place i currently work at was like 'and do you still work there?' SHE KNOWS#and when i said yes she was like 'would you be willing to leave?' HOW CAN I BE TWO-TIMING BOTH OF YOU RN#LYING TO ONE JOB ABOUT SEEKING ANOTHER JOB LYING TO THE NEW JOB ABOUT LEAVING THE OLD ONE COME ON NOW#IM NOT BUILT FOR THESE LAYERS#but yeah summary here is i have a shift at my actual place on wednesday (thank god i havent had work in over a fucking WEEK)#and i have a trial shift at a new place where i'll most likely be offered a job. life is picking up#ALSO i have enough money to change my america flights bc basically something came up with that and i need to change my return flight#and i was originally rlly worried bc the change cost was £161 and that piled onto my current no-shifts stress was Not Fun#but ive been working a lot for my mum and i got paid for the shifts i HAVE done and it all kinda fell together anyway#the way everything is sorting itself today within the same HOUR yet ive been stressing about these things for days now#hella goes home#hella slaves to capitalism

#house projects#personal#legitimately becoming my most loathed project#its not HARD per se#ok yes it is hard#its hot and exhausting#and so fucking itchy#i hate scooping up the old stuff but i have to#im also having to rip up/out the old disconnected wiring as i go#and clean up the trash that was left from previous workers who apparently gave 0 shits#im almost halfway done so#its getting there#but ugh#it makes my back and knees hurt#and i keep catching my head on roofing nails#one day ill scalp myself#i could wear a helment but its already miserable enough wearing thick long sleeves pants gloves boots and a mask#i should wrar goggles too but they fog up and i cant see#i really really hope this will be worth it#also im pretty pleased to see that i at least got enough insulation#i may have extra so ill just layer it over the first layer#howse

My irl social circle became so so trans dominated while dropping out i had forgor how bad it feels being in cis dominated institutions
#im not atuch with them they’re stuck with me but. had not missed it#i hadn’t forgotten public life or like#mostly cis familial circles#it has an additional layer of badness in school tho i feel. extra#exposed and restricted#and that’s in an art uni with mostly leftist students#just. far from left enough#not that anybody is leftist and anarchist enough for me-#i had done a short program to prepare health formation where i was surrounded by cis women always. but the teachers were#keeping less of an authoritative distance and those women were if not the most anti bogtry at least mature#the people in this dlass are mostly just out of high school and huh. have growth left to do#also there’s a bunch if gays but not really the radical kind and some people who definitely are somewhat trans but still battling their#internalized transphobia too much for what i would say to be well received#tired of being the most radical fucker in all the rooms i walk in it’s exhausting#making friends is hard also. in general#but i can’t help but feel looking genderweird and alt isn’t helping me (also i don’t do the first step lol that one’s on me)
