Would like to train a puppy right now. I want to be in charge of a puppy rn. And honestly this is a good time for that cuz im not working so I have the time and energy to put into training and socializing a puppy. YOU would not need to do shit.

Chewby came mostly pre trained but my dad makes almost no effort to actually work with her on things she needs help with. And while I've been TRYING to work with her, she's so glued to my dad that I don't get to work with her as often as I would like or as much as she needs and he doesn't like to listen to my advice anyway so he just kinda undoes whatever progress I make.

Also its been almost 17 years since the last time I had a puppy. I barely even remember that CUZ I WAS NINE. Like I have a good memory but like. Puppies are puppies for such a short amount of time. guy has a shitty childhood growing up, guy likes friend's sister, series of unfortunate events occur, it fucks up the whole friend group (friend + sister's dad makes young guy and sister take off their clothes in front of a camera, psycho friend gets the other friend to blow up a mailbox which kills a baby and other friend grows up fucked up, psycho friend burns guy's dog alive because guy likes friend's sister, guy moves away)

guy also suffers from weird blackout moments where he just wakes up forgetting an entire chunk of time from his memory, usually at these moments of unfortunate events (you can see why in a bit)

time jump, guy is in college, guy finds friends sister (lets call her girl) they sorta catch up, guy clearly still likes her, guy asks about a particular iffy moment between them and her freaky dad from their childhood, girl freaks out and walks away, girl kills herself about it, guy feels bad, wants to fix it

turns out guy can go back in time through his memories and change certain things he says or does and it has certain effects in his present day life (get it ? butterfly effect HAHA)

guy basically goes back to all those pivotal fucked up moments and tries to change smth to save all three of his friends (and his mom) so they all have a better present day life (but especially girl) coming back each time and failing only for him to realize none of it wouldve happened if he never befriended girl in the first place so he goes back to when he first meets her and tells her to fuck off

and it all works but its bittersweet bc he wont get to love her growing up but at least she and her brother are saved from their freaky dad, his other friend grows up normal and his mom doesnt die from lung cancer or smth HAHAHA

Versus the scene in the city underground where Sandmans from, i think itd have more like visible subcultures. The city would have like distinct scenes the zones are like a melting pot with only a few crews/cliques really like. Claiming to be/looking like anything specific. Anyways i saw the leak so heres my thoughts on it!

The beginning part is cute. I LOVE the fly dogs and wish they weren't forgotten about.

I think it would make more sense if Striker was kidnapped and brough to Crimson since he may want someone . If Crimson is running out of money and Striker is trying to get money those feel conflicting. So if he kidnapped Striker (believable since based on prior fights he seems to struggle the moment he's outnumbered.) And threatened to kill him if he failed it might give more reason to the circumstances. (And if we want Crimson alive perhaps he can't afford to kill Striker after IMP has cut down so many of his men)

Fizz and Ozzies relationship being the worst kept secret feels conflicting in a way esp if the news dropped just tofat. Like Fizz hides the newspaper (and how were they found out? Like wouldnt this be a problem?) So maybe itd help if Striker looked at that news article when being told he had to catch someone important and then moves it down where we get the shot of Fizz and Blitzø fighting. Indicating to us its Strikers lucky day because the news just broke this guy is someone Ozzie might shell out quite a bit of money for.

The backstory I didnt like the choppiness of admittedly. I hope we get a more in depth one that gives especially Fizz's backstory more time to hit.

That or maybe he tries to steal Ozzies dogs (presuming Fizz to be his dog walker and because Fizz is still holding the leashes and in a fight with Blitzø theyre both pulled up with them?).

Their resolution feels like it was missing the issue. It wasnt just that Blitzo ruined Fizz's life its that he actively walked away when Fizz was severely injured. And Blitzø's "i lost something too" thing feels like its talking down to Fizz as though he wasnt there and close to Blitzøs family. I think maybe itd work if they made each other feel bad in a way that makes each of them reconsider their view of one another like:

Fizz: You hated that I was better than you so you decided to take it all away from me!

Blitzo: It was an accident!

Fizz: Oh boo hoo. Do you want a participation medal or something.

Blitzø then grabs Fizz's shirt both with tears in his eyes and seething with anger. " I lost things that day too Fizz! Where do you think this scar came from?"

Then we get Blitzos flashback and perhaps they dont bond over "nobody told me you came to visit!" (Which why is that tossed aside and why is nothing gonna be done to keep it from happening?) But instead misjudging each other and assuming.

Speaking of that since fire seems to be different colors based on rings, if that fire isnt visually different im gonna struggle to buy Blitzø not at minimum being afraid of human fire based on appearance because this:

Doesn't help. Unless wrath fire looks similar to human fire, (meaning because Wrath is orange Blitzo should presumably be scared based on appearances.) It also would bring to question isnt the point of the fire breathing trick the danger?

I could see this being a intended swap out. That they use human fire in shows bc it looks like wrath fire to minimize injury. But this means assumably the fire from the birthday cake shouldnt be green orange or blue (colors IIRC we saw and Blitzo wasnt bothered by) its not going against canon yet. The fire color will determine that.

Btw if Stolas loves words and reading contracts youd think he'd remember a spell from his book.

Next i hope Fizz's song sounds better in the show. It wasnt bad! Admittedly tho i wish they played into Crimsons men falling into the song because I can follow Crimson and Striker confused but everyone just standing their confused i feel drags down the scene a bit. A lot of the time moments like these work well if the people watching get into the song in a way where the rug is pulled out from under them when the song ends. For examples:

Just Can't Wait to be King from The Lion King

And arguably the I Have a Dream song from Tangled.

Now as for the end my main thing is Ozzies "youll never leave the palace without protection again" before Fizz even expresses being afraid feels infantilizing. I think it overall wouldve worked better if Ozzie sent Fizz to get milk alone because he doesn't want them seen together in a domestic context.

So by the end Ozzie says he'll never let Fizz go anywhere protection to which Fizz responds that he can handle himself (he and Blitzo did work together to get out of there) but he'd love if they went places as a couple.

Ill prob do a rewrite in the future but for now I wanna see how the final product ends up before i go into that!

Hogwarts AU: Headcanons game

More Hogwarts AU stuff for the snk vets! Thanks to @luanabonn for asking me to join her with this :)  

Hange Zoe Wand: Hazel/Dragon Heartstring (It said Hazel wood is sensitive and works best for a wielder that can understand and manage their own feelings. since hange can get really angry and emotional i feel like itd be cool to see her struggle with this wand at first but slowly master it. Dragon Heartstring is also prone to accidents and is temperamental LOL, I just think Hange would be the only one to tame such a difficult wand) House: Gryffindor (agree with luanabonn that Hange would totally be a hatstall, but I like to think she’d end up being in Gryffindor. Parallels to Hermione: smartest witch of her age but can pack a punch when angry and will stand for what she believes in without backing down) Patronus: Dog (Border Collie) Blood status: Half-Blood (She’s well versed in both the muggle and wizarding world because of it) Excels: Care of Magical Creatures Sucks at Potions: She’s not even bad at it, she just likes to experiment and loved making her cauldron explode. Quidditch position: Chaser. Loves scoring against Hufflepuff’s Keeper, Levi Ackerman Pets: 2 toads named Sawney and Bean. but she’s always with the Care of Magical creatures professor  so like every animal in Hogwarts’ grounds knows and loves Hange. Hopes to one day own her own hippogriff.

Levi Ackerman Wand: Poplar/Unicorn Hair (a reliable, consistent wand with the rarest wood that is happiest with a wilder with clear moral vision) House: Hufflepuff (totally the black sheep of Hufflepuff, gloomy angry scowled boi but has the kindest heart of them all) Patronus: Black Cat Blood status: Pure-blood (of the Ackerman bloodline) Excels: Potions Sucks at Care of Magical Creatures (lol he just hesitates and gets grossed out sometimes and the animals feel that. They tolerate him because he hangs around Hange all the time) Quidditch Position: Keeper, loves to block goals by Hange of Gryffindor house Pets: He ends up taking care of Hange’s toads and gets his share of time with animals because of her. But he does have a small cat.

Erwin Smith Wand: Laurel/Dragonheartstring (Laurel wood does not tolerate laziness, and cannot perform a dishonorable act) House: Slytherin (driven, clever, strong sense of brotherhood aka really cares about those closest to him) Patronus: Deer (male) Blood Status: Muggle-born (credits to luanabonn for this one! I like the idea of Erwin being such a driven Slytherin down to his core, but he’s kinda outcasted for being muggle-born) Excels: Defense Against the Dark Arts Sucks at Herbology: It annoys him that his grades are perfect except for this class. Hange and Moblit always take turns to come help him. Quidditch: Chaser (always competitive against Hange) Pets: Also tired of running after Hange’s animals, can’t deal with another pet of his own lol. He has a snowy white owl thought so he can send letters to his family.

Moblit Berner Wand: Poplar/Unicorn Hair (the same wand as Levi’s. Hange teases Levi about this, and Levi gets a bit jealous of Moblit for a time over it. Moblit tries not to get involved) House: Gryffindor (kinda like Neville? always worried and skittish but will save you, super brave when needed to be) Patronus: Rabbit Blood Status: Muggle-born (parents are just as nervous as him, they ended up with a magical child after all) Quidditch: Seeker :) Excels: Herbology and Defense Against the Dark Arts Sucks at Potions: literally only because he abandons his work to try stopping Hange from making everything explode Pets: A small brown owl that perches on his shoulder a lot.

Mike Zacharias Wand: Maple/Dragon Heartstring (Maple is a wand of high achievers, growing in ability with its partner. He is very competitive as all Slytherins are, he and Erwin compete a lot which makes each other grow into skilled wizards) House: Slytherin (I think he’d be Erwin’s best friend in Slytherin house) Patronus: Dog (Bloodhound) Blood Status: Half-Blood Excels: Potions. Argument between him and Levi at who’s best at this subject. Levi has natural talent and Mike is good with his nose, which helps him greatly. Sucks at Transfiguration. Nanaba always helps him with this subject, and it’s how they became close friends. Quidditch: Beater. Idk why but this just makes sense to me lol Pet: Rat. Gets mad at Hange for sneaking the rat more cheese, and it gets very chubby.

Nanaba Wand: Alder/Unicorn hair (ideal owner is helpful, considerate, and likable) House: Hufflepuff (Levi’s only friend Hufflepuff house. She’s the only one he tolerates lol, and sees through his RBF) Patronus: Otter (otters cuddle and hug each other and I imagine she’s like this with all their friends.) Blood Status: Muggle-born Excels: Transfiguration. She turns Levi’s stuff into little animals that scurry away from him and he’s always running after something in the Hufflepuff common room. It annoys Levi but he can’t help but laugh sometimes when she does this. Sucks at no subjects actually. She has perfect scores because she’s naturally book smart, which annoys the hell out of Erwin. “Who care about plants???” he always says in response to Nanaba’s grades, and Moblit always gives him a glare. Quidditch: Beater. Will never let Mike forget that she hit a blundger right at Mike, and he fell and broke his arm. They get very competitive with each other during matches. Pets: Cat. Very floofy, helps keep watch over Sawney and Bean because they often escape the Gryffindor common room.

anyway, speaking about johnny boy i was thinking about him + nibbles and our like collective desicion that he is essiently a cat and it is really weirdly fitting that it just makes me like ???? so like cats themselves are a reoccuring motif within the game from the start, when u go to viks, when ur chatting up takemura and at the end with the rooftop that also doubles as like the millionith matrix reference. they follow v and they take up the role of the bakeneko, which i think in the game is defined by them appearing near death ? or just disaster. the obvious thing is that it is to do with v's inpending death and their whole sitation but like the general point is like the cat symbolises the death that follows v as the cat follows them. this puts johnny in an interesting sitation from his catlike nature to how he seems to like and get along with nibbles, he is linked with cats. he is also the parasite that is killing v. he is V's bakeneko. their signal of death. the events start because of his relic, jackie dies for him, and soon does most of the cast from act 1, and a large part of the death from then on is a direct result of them trying to solve the relic and johnny's whole presence is a signal for hey v ur fucking dying. he is death for them. the bakeneko.

makes me wonder if his catlike attributes were intentionally done cause that boy aint right or we just accidently walked on a really thematic fitting landmind

Spoilers within, again, also leave my sleeping schedule alone, I do not function. Additionally, I have a lot to say about Nibbles, omens, cats, and pets then how they all relate back to Johnny so congrats on opening a flood gate my friend!

 think the thematic thing with Johnny and cats and the bakeneko has to 1000000 percent be intentional, because he even sees a cat when Alt is kidnapped. And that goes back to Cyberpunk Red. Like that was used and utilized and then became such a large part of the story. 

Johnny is clearly meant to be a bakeneko; he’s actively next to the cat in that conversation, leaves when it does, see the same cat before Alt’s death, and is again the visual representation of what is happening to V. He is the symbol of their death, whether he wants to be or not. 

I think it’s also interesting to note, the Bakeneko, which is described as an omen of death and misfortune isn’t the only way we see cats used thematically within the game. Albeit, this way is more subtle and perhaps intentionally so. We also see the maneki-neko; the lucky cat statues are everywhere in game. In V’s apartment, Misty’s shop, Vik’s clinic. Everyyyyyywhereeeeee. 

So, we see two mythological cats from Japanese culture. One brings misfortune and one brings good luck. And Johnny exemplifies both. 

Johnny is a visual representation of all that is destroying V. His mere existence and presence a constant reminder that their death is around the corner. An ever present omen that V’s clock is ticking. He also often pops up to have a comment just before massive relic malfunctions and disasters. The end of every main game quest is punctuated with a relic malfunction and a lecture from Johnny. 

But without the chip and by extension Johnny, V would already be dead. If the chip hadn’t been the exact right place to be damaged and activated by the gunshot; it would have killed V right then and there. And while this wasn’t an active choice on Johnny’s part, he is the visual representation of the chip. Even then, he later does make an active choice to save V’s life. When V is hit with the worst malfunction yet; Johnny grabs them, “you aren’t dying yet, I got you” and he takes them to safety. He refuses to watch V seize and die in a puddle of their own sick in the middle of nowhere (for me it’s always at the sunset hotel, idk if this changes based on the order you do the events tho) So, he takes control, he eases their pain and takes them somewhere safe, somewhere that means something to him, and swears to die for them. 

Luck both good and bad. Fortune and misfortune. A sign of better days and an omen of death. A maneki-neko and a bakeneko. The time bomb in V’s head and the guy who saved their life. He is both. 

Now, stepping away from the mythological aspects. Lets talk about Nibbles the cat, Johnny, and pets within Cyberpunk 2077. Animals and by extension pets are considered a luxury in Night City. They’re taxed to fuck and back, generally only the wealthy can have them. Its also often brought up that real friends and family who stick by you are very difficult to come by. V becomes through Nibbles one of the rare people to have a pet. One of the other people who had a pet is, Barry their neighbor. 

Barry and his mission is one of the first you can unlock and see in the game. He’s V’s downstairs neighbor and his story is played out so fucking similarly to V’s. Barry lost his best friend, he’s quit his job because he can’t handle the weight of the NCPD’s corruption, and he’s thinking of taking his own life.  V has lost Jackie, its stated in game they get less work than usual because of Konpeki (cant be put on a crew), and very early on can say to Misty “be better off putting in my head”. 

But for Barry that friend ends up being a pet tortoise. And its clear what that tortoise represents; a constant companion, a safe place, and a comfort. Something Barry couldn’t find among his peers until later on when they learn just how much he’s been hurting. And this is treated as such a tragedy, that he only has a pet to turn to. 

And so V gets a cat, because they too are fucking hurting and having a little meowing bundle of skin running around their apartment helps. Something to come home to, something to make that apartment a little less empty, a little more alive. 

So, how does this particular aspect of Nibbles/cats/pets relate to Johnny, I hear you wondering (as well as wondering when Im going to shut up). Well, we know Johnny is linked symbolically with cats and thats the choice of pet for V. And we knows pets have been likened to support without judgement; a companion who you can tell everything too and they won’t abandon you. 

And while Johnny has heaps of judgment and is a dick. He is V’s only constant companion. I know a good junk of people don’t like him or his commentary; but imagine V’s life without Johnny in it through the game events. Imagine how lonely they’d be. 

Johnny is the only one who knows everything and is there with V from the start to the final moments in Mikoshi. 

Vik and Misty know, but they’re no edgerunners, they have no idea everything V is doing out there. Part of why as much as I do love Vik, his frustration with V hurts so much in the end because he talks like V hasn’t done anything to save themselves. Because, Vik doesn’t know what V’s been doing this whole time. 

Each part of the main quests in Act 2 are linked to an NPC; Judy, Panam, and Takemura. And not one of them know or are there throughout the entirety of V’s journey. Judy doesn’t get told the full details of what’s happening until later in and stops helping V one Evelyn is saved. Panam doesn’t learn the full details or anything really about the chip until much later. And her quests become her own personal journey once V finds Hellman. And then depending on V’s choices, Panam can come in to help at the end. Takemura knows V is dying and is there to help with the parade and then he’s gone; either dead or in hiding. He refers to anything that doesn’t involve him as V’s shady dealings and leaves it at that. He’s there to interrogate Hellman but he doesn’t know all V did to find him. None of them know everything, none of them have been there the whole time. And that’s not a condemnation of them, I do not expect them to drop everything to be glued to V’s side 24/7 but, I can’t fucking imagine how alone V feels. 

River has no involvement in any main quests and only finds out anything if V chooses to romance him. Kerry knows what Johnny told him and depending on the ending may even leave V. Again, wanna be clear, that isn’t a condemnation on his character. I understand why he does this and i understand his hurt and how it led him to that. 

But this is about how truly fucking alone V is in all of this. Not a single person there start to finish, not a single person knowing all that they have suffered, all that they have been through and are going through. 

Except Johnny. He tells V in the oil fields, closest to him by far, there 24/7, yet they don’t seem to hate him. And he’s that for V too; there the entire way, their demon never leaving.  Johnny knows everything happening; because he’s part of what’s happening. He’s been there through every struggle, every step, every slap in the face as V’s tried to save themselves. Has felt their pain as they lose themselves, has known the people who’ve had to die for them to get this far, as felt their heart break when all they found was betrayal by the Voodoo Boys, Ai Alt asking how V’s life is her problem, getting recommended a hospice by Hellman. 

And as dickish as he is, his comments help. V always has someone there, as much as he sucks. He always has something stupid or naggy to say to help keep some of that weight off their shoulders. Imagine if they didn’t even have that. If Johnny never talked to them, never showed his face. 

A constant companion, like a supportive pet cat except he can talk and did a lot of meth. 

And this is a sidenote that has nothing to do with cats specifically, but that through Samurai music this isn’t the first time Johnny could be compared to an omen. Its no secret that the music was largely created around the game and as such, many of his songs have direct parallels and messages related to the game. Never Fade Away while in universe written in regards to Alt’s death also has so much in common with his journey with V. This brings me to the song Black Dog.

“Black Dog inside my head, guiding me until the end.”

Black Dogs are figures in Irish Mythology  who much like bakeneko’s are talked about in game; are omens of death and misfortune. I just find it interesting I suppose, like Johnny is either a dirty alley cat or a big mangy dog, but either way he’s here cause someones about to die.
