the video suggests that the best way to handle modern nazi sympathizers is through ridicule, but that alone isnt rlly helpful. laughing at them doesn’t actively counter their ideology, dismantle their rhetoric, etc. "pointing and laughing" doesn’t challenge the structural and ideological foundations that allow nazis to persist.

literally just fifteen minutes of dancing around the idea of engaging with reichblr members, at one point saying, "use your judgment" when it comes to harassment [1:40]. and then saying "if theyre adults, um, someone needs to punch them in the face" [3:52] casually encouraging assault against innocent people

"holocaust is not a joking matter in any way whatsoever it's it's straight up awful and I disagree with anyone turning into a joke" who joked about the holocaust. who??? nobody on reichblr, as far as ive been here, has joked about the holocaust

the creator claims to respect history and historical research while dismissing entire parts of the history community (reichblr) they personally don’t like. for example, preferring "smart people" in certain history communities while dunking on the reichblr community, this comes off as arbitrary.

the video spends more time ridiculing the artistic quality of fan art but not a single second addressing actual nazis. which i personally think is a waste of time & was supposed to be the point of the video but okay.

"to this day there is still a very vocal minority of individuals that like them [nazis]" no, no there isnt. if there are, theyre not in the reichblr community.

also they use artwork, some from my moots, without permissions. pretty sure thats not ethical. oh and they called their art a "waste of time & skill" which is just a dick move and such an unnecessary comment to make on a video that discusses (or atleast tried to) something so serious as nazis.

overall the video feels so confusing. it’s hard to tell what the creator’s actual point is because they’re jumping between mocking random nazi-related fan art and discussing extreme online subcultures without a clear direction. it sounds like they’re mostly frustrated with people who romanticize nazi imagery online—particularly the niche reichblr stuff—but then they go off on tangents about how these people might be dumb, or how their art is bad, without actually addressing the deeper, more dangerous parts of neo-nazi ideology.

the video seems to be trying to say that anyone who engages with or posts nazi-related content (even as art or a joke which ninety percent of the reichblr fandom does) is problematic, but then doesnt make it clear where the line is. are they talking about people who simply appreciate history? or those who glorify nazi leaders and their actions? its unclear.

plus, the mocking tone just adds confusion because they mock the fan art but also say that mocking them isn’t enough, but then the creator doesn’t really offer any solutions or actions beyond "laugh at them."

i did watch this video while half asleep (im also writing this half asleep but shhh), but if i can still find bullshit in ur video with one of my eyes closed and my brain struggling to work i think u may be in the wrong.

in summary the creator js rants, makes unnecessary comments about art they dont like, and cannot even be bothered to point out any real nazis amongst the reichblr community by simply generalising all of us into being a nazi.

One thing I've noticed is ignoring Viv's personality and writing she's also a shit business woman too let me explain.

Notice Viv never making any other socials for Helluva outside twitter and only does hiring announcements there too. Which limits her ability to advertise her show and get more workers. Like that's insane to do for any mainstream stuff but especially indie. And now with everyone leaving twitter it's gonna bite her in the ass. Also let's think about if the Helluva account got banned or suspended for some reason. Viv doesn't have other professional accounts. Also trolls or the like could already claim account names such as Helluva Official etc.

The recent barrage of merch drops. Look I get indie animation is expensive but before you saw the drops less frequently. But with viewcounts going down rapidly for Helluva why would you focus on MORE new merch like stuff ain't selling out anymore. A large part of the fandom left so there's no point to make this much because your just gonna have a shit ton of inventory left and be spending more money on production. And also the frequency won't make up for it because only super stans would buy every merch drop. On average it depends who has the extra income to spend.

Then Stylish Occult is insane. Like they claim it's high quality stuff to justify it's high prices but like it literally looks like hot topic products. Which is crazy due to them already having a deal with hot topic. Anyway, I look over at the products and notice a lot of it isn't even new art but recycled pngs and casual and none of that is high quality or high fashion like it claims. In fact if you look at any fashion show or read the Sailor Moon manga (since a lot of the outfits are lifted straight off the runway) you could tell what's high fashion instantly.

Then how fucking limited as a brand Vivziepop is. She no longer owns the Hazbin characters in the series so she'd be stuck using the pilot design or not at all. So she defaults to Helluva and forgets about her animations over the years or even Zoophobia. Like why would u make ur own storefront reliant on a single IP? Yes Helluva has that happen too but all the money goes to it and the ads are targeted to Helluva fans so it makes sense by Stylish Occult can't survive on Helluva alone and neither can Viv.

Like every creator on youtube tells people to not lock themselves in a niche because when they expand outside of it the algorithim will fuck them. And they'll still get screwed once what they are based off ends ex. a lot of MLP G4 projects started not getting as many views as in it's hey a few years after it ended. The only reason G4 stuff gets views is mainly due to nostalgia and the infection AU starting a renaissance plus G5 sucking.

Hell Alfabusa a former warhammer animation channel got fucked over in a different way when the owners of warhammer changed their policy on fan animations completely. People in the fandom got screwed all over the place but especially Alfabusa who's team was in the middle of a 3 parter. So they were lucky enough to rearrange channel production into multiple projects that yes prexisting IP but definitely wouldn't fuck them over if one company changed their policy on fanworks again.

Vivziepop may have original IP so she won't get that screwed but again if people begin to hate Helluva they won't buy her stuff.

gonna talk cult au for a bit here though because that's 99% of my content. and honestly? she thrives in sub au's of the cult au like villain au + imposter au. it's basically made for her. i mean, early days, the imposter au had been going around for a little while but one of the first few ideas was the Fatui taking reader in so like. it kinda technically actually was. pretty sure cult au Tsaritsa popped up because of the imposter au. a lot of it's writers kinda left though which. man am i getting old or.

anyway.

there isn't much of a chance her first impression is all that positive. at best it's usually neutral, imo, but rarely if ever positive. specifically because i view the Tsaritsa as someone who isn't as fanatical as most of the acolytes typically are towards the creator. she's not exactly going to worship the ground you walk on unlike a certain geo lizard. which is partially why i think she thrives in the sub au's i mentioned.

imposter au, for example. she meets you at your lowest. there's no gaudy extravagance or pampering from the acolytes waiting for you because your own acolytes have turned on you. for all intents and purposes you aren't a "god" at all. which is why i don't think she meshes well with normal cult au reader. the Fatui are made up of outcasts, basically, and imposter au slots right in just perfectly. you're weak, at your lowest, when you meet the Fatui in the imposter au. and the Fatui can help you, too.

a mutual exchange, really. the Tsaritsa sees a tool she can use to one up the rest of the nations and especially Archons, and she has no qualms about you using her and the Fatui in turn. you both want something out of it, after all. whether you just want to be safe from the rest of the acolytes, or you want revenge, or whatever else..she'll give you the power to fulfill it, and she gains the strongest piece on the chessboard when all is said and done.

the best way i can describe the first meeting is "practical", i suppose. she sees an opportunity in you. the ultimate gamble. because if she "saves" you, and you dont trust anyone else because they tried to kill you, well..she holds all the cards, doesn't she?

but the Tsaritsa, imo, is just as capable of being just as fanatical towards you as anyone else. she just won't worship you as the creator. but as yourself? clawing your way back to your divine power and taking back what belongs to you? the Tsaritsa is, to me, a character who's character flourishes in long-term fics more because she changes a LOT between "just met reader" and after having been with reader for some time. she's practically apathetic at the beginning but a lot of her character, in my characterization, shines through LONG after the first meeting.

He wasn’t ripping into her memories and tearing them up like he had been the day before; this time, he was focusing specifically on the same group of memories that had to do with the day she was removed from their family and banished. Maybe it was curiosity for how she perceived the day, but whatever it was, Eloise hated reliving the worst day of her life over and over again. The day she had lost everything. The day it had been confirmed to her that she didn’t belong, would never belong. The emotions burning and tearing her apart were going to leave only a charred husk of herself in their parlor if they kept this up for much longer. It had been so long since she had thought about that day, and she would have preferred to never remember it again. If she thought her memories had faded since they happened, she had quickly learned that the assumption was erroneous.

“You need to clear your mind of all emotions, fool girl,” her father spat. Eloise took advantage of the fact he was talking to collapse into an armchair to her right. The bright light of the late morning was filtering through the windows and even though it was the end of October, it felt warm. She sat with her head cradled in her hands, not caring that she was being frightfully disrespectful by not looking up at him with her usual composure. Sweat trickled down her neck, her breathing was uneven. “How could a daughter of mine let herself get so carried away by hysteria? You’re a Babbit. So show me. Get up.”

Eloise got to her feet and shuffled over to stand in front of her father again. She tried to clear out her mind. Compartmentalize and fold everything that made her her into a small, tiny, insignificant thing that could be shoved into a corner. Picture a smooth pond, a drop of dew from a leaf suspended above, slowly rolling off the leaf and falling into the center of the pond, the ripples slowly circling out perfectly and look…there…was another perfect drop, about to fall into the middle of the pond and -

Loud, shaking footsteps came closer and disturbed the peaceful stillness of the pond and all of a sudden she was being tossed around by huge waves, salt and bile filling her mouth and she couldn’t breath, and then she was eleven years old and gasping for breath and bleeding on the very floor she was currently lying on, five years later.

Eloise was at her father’s mercy once again. She couldn’t move. Imprisoned inside her mind.

Her parents were both looming over her, an unimaginable disgust she had never seen before marring both of their beautiful faces. Theirs had always been a cold beauty - faces carved from marble, cut-glass features and generally impassive. She couldn’t make out the words they were hissing at her, but the hatred was something tangible that she could feel and it would stick with her forever. It was an oppressive and dark and overwhelming feeling. Her mother raised her wand, no doubt to cast another -

But her father grabbed her mother’s hand and whispered something in her ear. She nodded and slowly lowered her wand, and then they were both gone. Eloise doesn’t know how long she had laid there, bleeding and gasping, before Leo burst through the door, face wild. He had only finished his first year of Hogwarts - was only twelve-about-to-turn-thirteen, and yet it was on his shoulders to try and nurse his sister back to life. Loli appeared and silently assisted, holding her healing hands over the cuts as Leo cleared away the blood.

Eloise had remained silent the whole time, swallowing up any tears that threatened to spill out and staring up at her brother with solemn eyes. They both knew it was the last time they would ever see each other, and she had already ruined it enough with the blood. She opened her mouth to speak, to say something, try to reassure him that it - that she - would be okay, but no words came out.

“I expect you to continue practicing your Occlumency,” her father said as he extracted himself from her mind and looked down at her with disgust.

nemesis & nike - an undertale fanfiction, that… okay, to the uninvolved of the undertale fandom, lowkey needs some explaining. but basically, the first arc — which im still working on — is a survival horror where the main character (who is an autistic dog coded transmasc, i love those if you couldn’t tell) has to try not to be killed by vengeful alternate universe variants of sans and papyrus. and they all fall in gay love the end.

displeasures of the flesh - this is my transformers fanfiction that’s a romance featuring two background characters from the comics being forced into human bodies after their deaths. yn is a weirdo freak who finds one of them and they go on a journey to find his original giant robot body, falling in toxic love along the way. also his boyfriend shows up and a throuple happens. this one, while no where NEAR well written, has some of my favorite scenes and themes of anything ive ever written.

all three of these fics feature a trans main character, freaky/damaged love interests, and half toxic / half sweet romances. id say nemesis & nike are the least toxic and half of the love interests are all trying to kill the mc.

metameric hearts - another original work that i don’t really know what to do with because it’s basically just monster porn. the plot is a human astronaut is shot into space in a one way trip to search for intelligent life. they are knocked off course and, coincidentally, picked up by an alien vessel in orbit of a small planet studying the microscopic lifeforms on the surface. its first contact for both species, three giant centipede scientists and one little human. there was supposed to be some humor there where the aliens are trying to hide the human from their superiors so the human doesn’t get carted away to be dissected. so darkly humorous.

commodus modern au x reader - no title for this one yet, but we were talking about it in the server and i MUST write it one day. basically yn works at a restaurant as a waiter, and their coworkers is maximus, who is a bartender. commodus shows up to deliver maximus a message from lucilla, but winds up sitting down to eat during the slow hours and you are his waiter. in short, you are nice to him and accidentally validate him during his bad day with your stellar customer service and he becomes pathetically hyperfixated on you. love fails!

oneshot modern au caracalla x alga - i just listened to lost kitten by metric once and saw visions of modern caralga. if i need a palate cleanser from writing dnbts ill cook this up

Gambling Apocalypse Tenma AU

As I rewatch Kaiji I inevitably end up wanting to combine show I like with other show I like and stuffing fav characters into show. So here we are.

This was uh going to be a short summary type thing but I accidentally wrote a novella about it sorry

This AU starts off with a much more depressive Tenma. After Tobio's death, rather than immediately pour his grief into developing a robot version of his son, he recedes into himself, psychologically paralyzed, likely turning to alcohol to drown out his anguish.

His mental state is taken as an opportunity within the Ministry of Science to have him ejected from his position; Tenma was never the most well-liked director, and there were those with ambition to usurp him that would jump at the chance. Not that he especially cares in his state.

He's eventually dragged out of his stagnation by Ochanomizu - who, inadvertently, becomes the very catalyst pushing Tenma to develop a robot replacement to his child. This was not what he meant by encouraging Tenma to fill the void left by his son.

...But, well, he is no longer the director of the Ministry of Science. His access to limitless government funds and resources for "scientific research" has been cut off, and this is a project he cannot finance on his own. He can't ask Ochanomizu for help, but...interestingly...a representative of a certain shady organization known as the Teiai Corporation reaches out to him, offering to finance and support his project. A sane and well-minded Tenma might think better of it, but grieving and desperate, Tenma accepts their offer and is able to create a robot in the image of his beloved Tobio. For a while, there's joy in his life.

But the bill, as ever, comes due: Tenma must pay up, and the very resources that had been at his disposal will certainly ensure that he will, or else. Of course, he doesn't have the money; instead, he is given a choice. He can relinquish the robot Tobio in order to wipe out his debt - the child is a sophisticated and powerful robot, after all - or he can participate in a certain illicit event hosted by the Teiai Corporation.

It's nothing major...just a four-hour gambling cruise with a collection of desperate, damned souls that were also swept into debt with Teiai. The conditions are simple: Those who choose to participate are given a chance to clear their debts wholesale should they win. And should they lose...?

Well...no one really knows what happens to the losers seized by Teiai. It's said that they labour away their debts under Teiai's watchful eye and are freed once their work has covered their debts, though it's rumoured that most perish before they reclaim freedom.

There's only one answer Tenma can give, of course; he's not willing to lose Tobio again.

Thus is Tenma's debut into the Gambling Apocalypse, where he must become cutthroat in order to survive; if he wants to see his son again, he must make choices that will doom the hapless to miserable servitude, with a nonzero chance it ends in their death.

He survives the cruise, but of course, it was hardly enough to clear his debt; the cruise was never going to be the end of it. Teiai doesn't let go of its victims that easily. He will be called on again: this is a weight that hangs over him, all while he returns to his son Tobio. The same hands that have pushed innocents into hell must now be the hands that can embrace his child.

He wants to protect Tobio from the truth and enjoy what peaceful moments he's allowed with his son, but it's difficult. It's difficult to be the parent of a child who cannot understand the danger that looms ahead; this "happy" home is not to last. Tenma angers quickly and easily. He turns that anger onto Tobio.

As Teiai's games become more and more vicious and unrelenting, as his conscience holds onto the last vestiges of thread that remain, Tenma even threatens, once, to give the boy in: it would all end, then; the debt would be clear and no longer would he have to endure Tobio's childish annoyances, his ungratefulness.

The next time that Tenma is beckoned, Tobio takes matters into his own hands. He does understand, now; and he would have, if only Tenma had bothered to explain sooner. If it's a debt that needs clearing, he will work. He will help his father clear his debts however he can. Of course, it's difficult to find work as a child; but a circus troupe finds amusement in the idea of a child robot, and takes him in. He is whisked into a certainly unpleasant working situation, but he remembers his father, and what he must be enduring. Tobio, also, will endure.

When Tenma returns, Tobio is gone.

All that held Tenma back from becoming something monstrous has disappeared. All that kept him going has disappeared. When he is called upon by Teiai, there is no knowing what sort of person might come out the other end; whether a monster clawing his way to freedom regardless of what actions he must take, or a desolate husk surrendering defeat.

There is still a light, however dim: Found by Professor Ochanomizu and rescued from the circus, Tobio - now Atom - is able to shed light on the situation which Tenma took great pains to keep hidden from his old friend. With time running out, Ochanomizu and Atom must do what they can to save Tenma - from Teiai, and from himself.

UHHH and that's a wrap!!!! I couldn't quite decide which way Tenma would go after hitting Rock Bottom in this AU, and tbh it would really depend on the kind of mental state he's in at the time. On the one hand I like the narrative of Ochanomizu and Tobio racing to prevent Tenma from crossing a line (actual outright murder probably) - or having to pull him back into humanity (and yknow, his ensuing penance)

But on the other hand having him get sent to Teiai Evil Hell Prison would be interesting because a) there's a lot of narrative potential having Tenma faced with what Teiai is doing with the people that lose the games and b) need him to decimate the foreman at chinchirorin Kaiji style

Tenma's whole character is definitely a much different guy in this AU, he starts off pretty sympathetic, the guy you wanna root for, he just ends up having an inverse character arc where he gets worse instead of better. His conflict with "Tobio" is also kind of reversed, less about being unsatisfied with Tobio as a son and more not being able to handle the fact that he probably has intense PTSD now and isnt capable of coping with it in a way conducive to being a parent (or like, coping at all)

Anyway that's gambling apocalypse tenma!!!
