i will never understand how or why the httyd movies did the books such an injustice.

the movies aren't even an adaptation - they stole the name of the series, the name of some of the characters and places, and the general idea that there are dragons. honestly, i would be fine with the movies and maybe even like them if they didn't capitalize off of cressida cowell's incredible books that never get any credit.

the books are an amazing story about the cycle of violence and how vengeance and revenge is dangerous. hiccup says that the past is a ghost story, one we need to learn from to better ourselves. the books are about how everyone deserves freedom, how every creature, every being on the earth deserves to be free. we see that in the slavemark, with the dragons.

and like... hiccup is so different. they did him a severe injustice. he's scrawny and intelligent and learned to talk to dragons simply by observing them! he chooses kindness first above all else; instead of yelling at toothless to train him, he is kind. and in the end, that kindness is why toothless chose to save him. bc even toothless himself says that dragons are inherently selfish creatures who care only for their survival. hiccup is brave - his beliefs differ drastically from both the vikings and the world.

hiccup is a child who chose to do the right thing even at the expense of himself. he agreed to free the slaves on nobert's ship, and in return, they gave him the slavemark which is easy to give but cannot be removed. he was like twelve. and having the slavemark means he cannot be with his tribe or his family, it means he isn't considered a human being anymore. and he keeps it a secret for awhile until it's revealed and when it is everyone turns their backs on hiccup. his family, his tribe, his mentor, people he TRUSTED. everyone except fishlegs, and, once she got over the shock, camicazi. he was thirteen. and even when he lost his memories and was really injured, he persisted. he was told to go to tomorrow and to save the dragons and he did bc in his heart he knew it was right even though he didn't know who he was or how he got there.

and fishlegs,,, oh my god FISHLEGS!!! the did him SO DIRTY!!! fishlegs is hiccup's best friend, one of the main motivators for hiccup. he steals norbert's potato for the sake of fishlegs, he gives fishlegs his dragon and goes to retrieve another, he takes the blame for fishlegs. and fishlegs does the same for him. he takes the slavemark with pride. he refuses to turn. he gives hiccup his lobster claw necklace which is his most prized possession. he is brave for hiccup, he believes hiccup is alive. he fights for hiccup harder than anyone else ever has. he does not turn. his is loyal, has allergies, has asthma, has a squint and a limp, has glasses bc he's blind without them... and he's still a hero despite being a runt, despite everyone even the adults telling him he's hopeless, telling hiccup to leave him behind.

and they cut camicazi! i'm sorry, but astr*d is nothing compared to camicazi. camicazi is a tiny, feral child who can easily best hiccup, fishlegs, and pretty much anyone in a sword fight. she can bring a grown man to tears with her rudery and smack talk. she is recklessly brave and craves adventure and follows hiccup blindly bc she trusts him that much. she isn't in love with hiccup - in fact she doesn't care about romance and love. she gives up everything to help hiccup bc she has a strong sense of justice. she is the motivator, the cheerleader, she finds a positive in everything. she never gives up. literally never gives up. and that's one of the most inspiring things about her: she always has hope.

and toothless! god!!! toothless is *thought to be* a common or garden dragon. he is horrifically tiny, he is literally toothless, and is the biggest brat in the world. he will cause problems on purpose. he has a stutter, he's the most selfless selfish dragon around. he and hiccup can talk to each other. he masks his fear with singing and being annoying. his growth is remarkable. he starts off refusing to obey hiccup, doing the opposite of what he says, making life harder for literally everyone around him, and he's still somewhat like that. but he's also braver, more caring, more willing to make sacrifices for the sake of others. he's clever, which he needs to be to make up for his size and aggression. he protects hiccup with everything he has, therefore, he protects what hiccup cares about just as hard. he was the only dragon that didn't abandon the vikings in the first book bc he cared about hiccup.

and snotlout,,, god,,, i will never forgive the movies for butchering snotlout. hiccup's cousin, the bully character, the one who is horrifically jealous that hiccup's dad was born before his. the one who desperately wants to prove himself, to be worthy, to make people proud. and you hate him, you despise him. he betrays everyone many times bc of the nothing promised to him by alvin and his mom. he loses himself, turns his back on himself, all bc he wants to prove himself. all bc he wants to be better than hiccup. and hiccup still forgives him and gives him chances, sometimes out of pity, but also bc snotlout is his cousin. he can't just turn his back on him no matter how miserable snotlout made his life. and in the end, snotlout sacrifices himself for hiccup. he gives up his life for hiccup in one last attempt to set things right. his death and the events preceding it are one of my absolute favorite moments in the book. gives me chills. makes me cry.

that's the thing with the books - they're so realistic. there is no inherently happy ending where everything works out. the first book begins with "there were dragons when i was a boy", implying that they're gone now. the books show there are consequences to our actions. they enslaved the dragons, they fought against them during the dragon rebellion all bc alvin and his mom said to, and now they're gone bc a simple apology doesn't fix hundreds of years of enslavement. and the only way for the world to move forward was for the dragons to leave and heal on their own. and now they have to learn to live without them. and yeah i've heard the third movie ends like that but. it doesn't have the build up. it doesn't have "there were dragons when i was a boy". it doesn't have eleven books of development to back it up, to make it feel meaningful.

i know that the movies are really special to a lot of people. i know that, on their own, they're genuinely good movies. i can acknowledge that the soundtrack is amazing and the animation is beautiful. i just can't see past the way they butchered the world that i love, the world that i grew up with. i can't see past the way people yelled at me for saying i liked the books better, the way that people gave me weird looks when i showed them a picture of the original toothless, when i tell them that nightfuries aren't even a type of dragon. cressida cowell created hundreds of different dragons, and the movies couldn't even pick from that. i can't forgive the way that barely anyone knows there are books bc the movie barely gives credit to them. i cannot forgive the way they capitalized off the books and then shoved them aside. i know cressida thinks they're good movies and i know a lot of httyd book fans also like them. but i just... i cannot get over how much they changed and how they missed so much and ignored the books. also they got rid of camicazi so hiccup could have a love interest and that is unforgivable to me.

if you disagree, that is a-okay. we're all entitled to our own opinions. i just ask that you, perhaps, try the books out. give them a chance. bc they're amazing works of art and also just like. don't yell at people who don't like the movies? whether it's bc they prefer the books or just aren't into that kind of movie. and just remember that dreamworks didn't come up with the story; cressida cowell did.

Welcome to my very long post of my new and ever Sleep Token predictions!

Where this post can tell either each of them that may or may not happen before Europe-UK tours, during Europe-UK tours or after the tour is done! Or whatever, could be anything!!

And just to let you know, none of my predictions will ever come true for the ST fandom.

But if it did come true, nor some predictions did managed to finally make it come true- then I suppose I consider this a win—! :D

New predictions start here!

Okay, let us predict of what new songs are gonna be in the setlist, but I'm not just gonna simply guess in simple words.. I'm gonna guess the new songs in the setlist with my new light color concept!

And some songs too that will soon return! But with new extra light color? Who knows!

Let's find out!

New Song Predictions:

The Apparition -

By in very popular demand, it seems that ST fans wanted the song The Apparition to be in the setlist. But if it's in the setlist..

What will the light color be?

To me, at the beginning of the song. It starts off with simple white light color. While it goes up.. the particle lights being light-greyish. Until it fades as the white color turns to red. And the particles turn from light-greyish to white and red at the same time! And when the "Why are you NEEEEEVVVERR REAAALLLL!?!" happens. Red, Yellow and White lights and White particles shine shine!! And then it slowly makes it to Red at the end of the song..

Cool right?

Are you really Okay?

I'm not sure if this is really by popular demand, but all of us will be very emotional about this song in the setlist lmao- Espera Vocals too!

Now, for AYRO..

The beginning of the song having this yellow-whiteish color. Then the lazer lights show up as white color once again. But when things pick up the pace.. White color and Blue lights! And then the end finally became light-orange-ish white for the "Please don't hurt yourself again". Yeah, you're welcome for being emotionally destroyed-

- Distraction.

Distraction... Oh do I want Distraction to be in the setlist. Yes I do!

And I know just the light color concept to be if it's really on the setlist!

The beginning having the cyan color, while it turns into blue but still repeats the pattern! However, the white light particles are shown too and the lazer lights becoming indigo! But as the part "It's too late for me" happened, it turned into Red at first. But it soon slowly fades to Blue, foreshadowing Descending/the person's descend. The repeat part of "its too late for me" repeatedly turns from Red to Blue, and at the end.. it turned into Blue instead.

And for bonus, Espera Vocals! :))

Descending -

I think we all know that we want Descending to be in the setlist.. so what will the light color be?

During the Beginning, the lights becoming very blue, symbolising its descending deeper into the ocean. And then the light particle and lazer lights had the purple color. It went being the same until the lazer lights turned to cyan. And the end? Lazer lights turn cyan while the particle became red.

Representing that we had finally descended.. down deeper and ever.

Telomeres -

I feel like the song Telomeres having the vibe of blue(beginning), cyan(middle part) and indigo(IV's solo and at the end) will bring me into tears of joy- Because yeah.

TPWBYT is the Ocean/Depression Album after all. Also Espera vocals go yummy YUMMY!!

High Water -

A very very blue and indigo vibe lights here, and then it turns to pink at tge end, by foreshadowing the next last song for Missing Limbs!

The last song's light colors are really beautiful tho..

Drag Me Under -

Green and White lights for the song that first emotionally destroy me. ESPECIALLY THE ESPERA VOCALS AUGHHHHHHHHH...!! <:(((

I remember I watched that live version video on Youtube. And I thought having the color of Green and White will suit this! Also the lazer lights being Red for the near-end! :)

Gods -

This is also by popular demand, so here is my light color concept on this!

Red lights and White/Red particle lights/lazer lights. And I believe that this is gonna be foreshadowing the third last part for TMBTE, and this is what I LIKE TO SEE!!

I'm so not ready if this song is gonna be in the setlist, ONE EMOTIONAL THERAPY FOR US HEHE, Now to me for the light color concept..

White(beginning and end, and also the lazer lights, light particles and spotlights having the same color-) Blue(middle part) and Red(near end) colors represents Happiness disguising itself as Hate/Toxicity. Which is why I would love to see this song at Live. What do you all think?

And for the bonus... Calcutta!

Orange at the beginning, the lazer lights appeared as light orange, then the solo part turns to orange yet again before it became Light Orange at the end! With light particles becoming blue..! Hehe,,

Aqua Regia -

Same purple and white lights! We already seen some live videos about it, so I think it'll be the same!

Vore -

Same green color too! Again, we do see it in live. So I think it'll remain the same.

The Love You Want -

Again, same pink lights and we did see it in live videos! But since Euclid already had the pink color, I think TLYW will have the new light color for purple(beginning), orange(near-end) and blue(end!) Who knows, we'll had to find out!

Fall For Me -

Oh god... That song broke us, and if this song is gonna return. I know just a concept for this:

At first, the beginning having the white color. But when the part "OH GOD I WISH YOU WERE HERE!!!" happens, it slowly turns from white to indigo-blue.. and that's pretty much it-

Mine -

I feel like any of you must have miss this one, I think they'll go off for the blue(beginning), cyan(middle part), and indigo(end)colors while the light particle or lazer lights were white! I really hope this will make a return..

Bloodsport. -

Honestly, we see this at live videos. So I know damn well they're going for the red color lights. The song still brokes me when I cover it with my flute- 🥲

Sugar -

Pink, Red and Blue lights. That's all I can say for this.. And since it is also in popular demand lmao- XDD

3. New looks? HELL YEAH?!?

Honestly, I don't think we'll get new looks for each band members.. but I think we'll had to see new subtle changes! In either IV, Espera, Vessel or III! We'll had to see then. Also, IV and III having new outfits... the two either bought it for themselves or just got it for no reason- The edits and the aura is gonna be so fire if this really happens!! AAAAA I WANT TO DREAM THIS!! ✨✨

4. Vessel and IV's voice improving.

Imagine the screaming vocals for the two, the growl vocals for the two, even the falsetto vocals for VESSEL.. Damn well I know I want them to take care of themselves.. so I think their voices will improve so much if they really did it! No wonder why all of us wanted a live album- me too! I would listen to it all day like Ghost's RITEHERERIGHTNOW live album. xD

5. New hats?? New outfits?? New sense of style!!

I'm pretty sure I'd seen some posts of them will be getting new hats soon.. I think the same in my opinion! I feel like now I want III to wear wolf ears and II wearing dog ears hehe- oh and the outfits, the new style?? OML I CAN FEEL THE GREATNESS FOR THE BOYS!!! :DD

6. Will Vessel finally talk? Yes, No, Maybe, or probably?

I'm pretty sure I made a post about my dream prediction last night.. honestly, I don't think we'll be seeing him talk again since we last saw him talk.

But imagine the courage he gets, to thank us for the genuine respect and support for what we had shown him! THAT will be sadly emotional for us.

More III talk, MORE LOUDNESS!! It'll probably never happen tbh..

7. The Offering Zoomies be like "BARK BARK!!!!"-

Okay, in my honesty and my..not-so great predictions inside my head.

I had a very very VERY VERY VERY SO VERY intense feeling that as soon as the Europe-UK tour ends. I feel like we are about to see an ARG happening very soon, so you must know this.

I remember I've seen some 1 year ago posts of anyone trying to find out the Rune Words when TMBTE covers were teased before the official release. It went well but honestly, this year of 2024 tho. Another ARG is gonna happen and I can feel it.

Imagine the teasers, the cryptic posts, the new puzzles, and even cryptic messages on each posts or..whatever! It's gonna be like the TØP lore ARG but THINGS ARE GETTING EVEN MORE CRAZIER!!

And I know it may not happen soon, but still...I can feel it, and i'm getting more tenser than ever...

My god it took like.. not one, but 10 HOURS to type all of it. All because of school, all because of loss of motivation and energy, all because of slight burnouts BUT I DID IT! HAHA LET'S GOOOO!!

maybe it's from the particularly acute disappointment of marc injuring himself at the sachsenring but this weekend (so far) has made me feel incredibly nervous for marc's future. like no guarantees of course but if marc was going to win anywhere this year (when the gap between the gp23 and gp24 is increasingly obvious, as you mentioned) it was going to be here. and i'm definitely overreacting because i'm emotional about it but it feels like him hurting himself here feels like a bad sign not just for this year but for the future at large. because it's a reminder that his body can't handle the riding style that used to take him so far. scary!

taking these two together ahahaa. this is truly the life of a sports fan huh

honestly with marc I've now swung so often and so far between 'it's so over' and 'we've never been more back' that I've gotten to an exciting point of. well. I suppose we'll have to see. I mean look, back in that jerez to catalunya stretch it did look like he might be able to be a serious title contender this season. at risk of making myself look like an idiot, I think we can pretty safely conclude that's not happening this year. but y'know, broadly what he needs to do is to figure his shit out for the rest of the year... like he kinda needs to just understand what this version of him can do under what circumstances. the thing about winning is that it's also a habit, it's something that becomes essentially muscle memory, you need to kinda have that reflexive understanding of how you've done it in the past - both in the context of races and titles. and it's still in there for him!! but he's just got to... take the rest of the season to chip away at the gap. currently, pecco and jorge don't just have the edge on him in pace, they have the edge on him in process. that's not just the bike, though it is also affected by marc being less familiar with the ducati. but pecco and jorge have just kind of gotten to the point where they know how to approach most weekends in a way where, more often or not, they will kinda maximise what was on offer for them that weekend. sometimes they chuck it down the road! but in terms of pure pace potential, right now they're getting to the point where they're there. marc is just a series of 'what ifs'. they're not all his fault, he's gotten unlucky, he's in a tough situation, he's still getting used to the new tracks on a ducati etc etc etc... but that's what this year is for. figure out the process, figure out how you actually go about getting wins in the current era - keeping your physical condition in mind - and take it from there

the physical stuff is the... yeah. the thing is, I do think he is capable of winning without all this crashing to figure out the limit. honestly, this approach of his made me deeply uneasy well well before what happened at jerez 2020. that injury and aborted comeback didn't feel like a fluke, it didn't feel like bad luck - in an awful way, it did feel like it had been a long time coming. that being said... well, y'know, marc was the only one who could win titles on the late 2010s honda, and part of the reason for that was that he figured out how to get a capricious bike just to the limit during races. you do not need to chuck the bike down the road fifty times per season to win the title on the ducati. pecco and jorge have very much shown that. sometimes it will just be dumb luck who gets injured or not! the sachsenring crash yesterday you can't really put down to marc being stupid or being irresponsible. he was hardly the only one who fell, weather conditions were tricky, shit does happen (not ideal that he tried to save the crash specifically because he knew his other bike had problems, plus the thing where he went out again before going to the medical centre, mind you). sometimes you fall a lot and you're fine, like marc for most of his prime. sometimes you crash at the start of the race and fall in front of the pack and your survival is up to fate. which is of course what happened last year to pecco, still one of the scariest crashes I've ever seen live in terms of crashes where you really do think you just got very very close to watching someone be killed in real time. this is the thing, right... at the end of the day, you can hope that marc finds an approach that relatively minimises the risk to his body - but also, you can only control so much. especially with where his body is at right now, there's only so many bad knocks you can take. you never know, you can only hope

overall, I have been thinking for a while that it's almost a bit... odd? how the physical stuff hasn't really featured at all in 2025-26 hot takes? I reckon people don't really want to think about it playing a big role, and also I suppose 'well one of them could get injured' is treated as just an underlying assumption of following motorcycle racing... but like we saw with catalunya last year, it's not just stuff that takes you out for ten races that can have big title race repercussions. especially given how marc traditionally went about winning titles, how big a part of that process it was for him. we've had such an incredible lucky streak from the start of the season until mugello that being afraid of injuries has almost... receded a little bit? in everyone's minds? after last year, in particular, where it just felt like you were always worrying about someone, it was just so relentless... and now injury worries have just come back with a vengeance these last few weeks and it is a little scary. a lot of this is scary. no real escaping it I'm afraid

but yes! anon! I agree with you! we'll get back to the smile and we'll get back to the optimism too.. at the end of the day, you can only do what you can do. we'll see what happens. if we're all massively underestimating just how much that sweet red bull cash can do and ktm comes out with a rocket ship next year and pedro wins the next ten titles, so be it. you never know

i got back in mcyt about a year ago, and although that was through empires, i mainly got introduced to the new minecraft streaming ecosystem (or at least new to me, there were probs streamers back in 2012 when i was first into minecraft but for me youtube was the main thing) through joe hills streams. and joe is awesome, but now that i’ve gotten a bit more into some other streamers through qsmp, i’ve seen that the way joe does things is very much not the norm. but i feel like it should be. i think starting with joe set my expectations and standards pretty high, and then going from that to other streamers was kinda a bit of a letdown. like obviously everyone’s an individual and no one’s artistic process is going to be exactly the same but also i see posts floating around about discourse and i always think to myself like “oh this is why i rlly like the way joe does stuff bc of this thing etc ect.” and obviously it’s not the streamers fault that ppl are shitty but i do also feel that like it can be indicative of the community that a creator builds and what they choose to tolerate vs what they choose to deal with and how they deal with them, there are ways to encourage a better kinder community that i feel big creators just don’t do. of course joes not perfect and he’s only human and it is different bc of the difference in audience sizes, but i feel like these creators are just completely absolved of all responsibility when it comes to community culture and that’s not great. so going from joe, who is very open about his rules and the way he expects ppl to conduct themselves in his chat and his measures that he takes to deal with that stuff, to creators who are almost entirely removed from those processes, was pretty jarring

i thought i was going to have time to catch up on everything i've missed and all the tag games from the past few weeks but that did not happen

its rly rough still kind of lowkey being interested in media that u used to be into but stopped engaging with when u realized it wasnt like Good Media to be interested in

str8 up im talking abt hetalia and dmmd for me. i miss the characters and designs and stories and fan content i used to engage with. i view them with a different perspective now and that perspective knows that theres very problematic and shitty parts of the media that shouldnt be like..excused. yknow?

at the same time i do tend to defend ppl's right to be into problematic media as long as theyre critical of it and recognize why the problematic parts are bad and dont excuse/praise/support them. maybe i should extend that to myself tbh. i always feel like im a nasty person for still thinking of stuff like that but maybe i need to give myself more credit. im in a much better headspace to indulge in shitty media than i used to be lol

i still dont feel super comfortable posting abt it on main yet but hey thats what sideblogs are for i guess
