Some Stardew Valley redesigns/reimaginings!! these pics were about a week apart from one another so theyre in two different styles lol

some explainations below the cut!

For Context: A lot of these headcanons are based off of my own personal lived experiences! They're also just my preferences for their characters in general. I have only romanced Sebastian in-game but looked at Alex's Wiki page for context on the background for his character. I don't really know much about him canon wise, I've only read fanfics with him in it LOL ANWAY!

Sebastian: -25 yrs old + Transman + Gay/MLM -I really liked how he had a motorcycle in-game but thought that there wasn't much to say about it, so I wanted to make it apart of his core as a character! He's a sport motorcyclist as a hobby. He loves high speed racing.

-He's still a programmer, but he's now a Game designer! This is mainly because my lovely boyfriend is a game designer irl and he's like my muse and I love cramming his traits into my favorite characters.

-He plays bass istead of keyboard in Sam's band. I dunno, I think keyboard is fun and all (i actually own two keyboards and played piano in hs) but like. cmon. Bass would suit him so much better.

-I gave him a battle jacket he wears over his normal hoodie. I feel like he has a couple of these from over the years that are DIY with his ever growing music taste. Battle jackets are such a staple in the alt music scene I felt like its a crime he doesn't have one in game. Sebastian you would love battle jackets.

-His motorcycle is a sportsbike instead of a standard/chopper. His helmet also resembles a cat, but definitely not on purpose! Definitely not.

-He has a LOT of scars. Some self inflicted (but he's recovering), others from surgery! He has top surgery scars designed to resemble spider webs, a phaloplasty skin graft scar on his left arm, and gnarly huge scars on his ribs down to his legs.

-He suffered a motorcycle accident resulting in his bike being damaged as well as giving him a limp. He's constantly fixing up his bike since then, wanting to ensure another wipe out won't happen again and that his bike is reall okay to ride again.

-HIS PIERCINNGNSSSSS he has a shit ton of piercings! Not shown, he has a Jacob's ladder piercing. :3c

-His personality doesn't really change much from in-game. I'd personally prefer if he was less bitchy and more just a rarely speaking type. The kind to keep his comments to himself. Bitching about your step sibling and your step dad gets stale, bro

Alex: (Sorry to any alex fans, I changed him a LOT)

-An ex-pro hockey player (goalie). I don't really care for "gridball" since it's just a couple of sports mixed together (from my understanding) so I decided to just give him a real world sport to play. Plus, hockey just kind of suits him for some reason?? I dunno

-Moved back to Pelican town after the news of his Mother's condition worsening and his Father jumping ship. In my version, he got recruited straight out of highschool to go pro for hockey. He had reservations about leaving his Mother with his Dad, but decided it was the best solution to the shitty situation. This way, he'd have more money to help her medical costs since his Dad's insurance was shitty anyway. A few years go by with constant health updates from his Grandparents, when one day his Dad just calls it quits on caregiving, deciding he doesn't want to waste his life away caring for his wife, and leaves. Without physical support from his Father to help around the house and help his Mother, Alex makes the choice to move back home and become his Mother's caregiver. He struggles with the emotional weight of this job ontop of how extremely demanding it is, but does his best for his Mother. She dies, and now he's taking care of his Grandparents. -I really wanted him to be a caregiver to his grandparents because my family were caregivers to both my Mother and my Father's parents LOL we spent all 23 years of my life taking care of them, so i thought it would be fun to think about. I imagine Evelyn and George to be my grandparents and constantly give them their favorite gifts in-game. (mainly george. i love him) (hes not homophobic hes just OLD and STUPID i LOVE HIM !!!!!!)

-Alex is constantly worried he won't be the same after caregiving for this long. He's worried he won't be able to go back to pro-hockey without reliving the stress of his mother's death. He's been having trouble keeping asleep at night, often waking up every few hours and being completely restless. He'll decompress at the sauna at unbearable hours of the night just because he can't sleep.

-He's the town helper! I thought it would be cute if he's the guy the town usually went to if they needed serious physical help with something, like setting up festival decorations, fixing fenceposts, shit like that. He loves helping out the town and INSISTS sometimes to be the one to fix a problem. When the farmer first comes into town and starts being the more dependable one, he starts feeling hopeless and easily emotionally distant. It's hard being the one everyone depended on to suddenly not being needed anymore. (It's not all entirely in his head, but he gets really worked up sometimes about feeling useless)

-Still an arrogant little shit! Instead of dreams of stardom, it's kind of a "washed up" celebrity kind of arrogance. He thinks he's hot shit because he travelled the world playing games for a couple of years. This backfires in his face, he'll sometimes sit for too long on his "glory days" and spiral, getting depressed about not playing anymore and his role as a caregiver despite loving his grandparents immensely.

-This headcanon is just silly but i think he likes to fish. He's so arrogant that he thinks hes amazing at it but fish rarely bite his line and when they do, they drag him into the river or sand at the beach. It's even more embarrassing because he thinks he's fine and continues to fish despite having sand and dirt all over himself.

-He's covered in moles! I also gave him freckles in places where his skin sees the most sun. (He's also got chest hair bc yall know i love hair on a man LMAO)

anyway. Long post! My bad. I was thinking of writing some Stardew Valley fanfics while working on some other stuff bc I want to explore my versions of Alex and Seb, and also maybe they explore each others bodies???? Let me know if that's something you'd guys like to read/offer up suggestions!!!

Hi. Update of random shit in case anyone cares.

The scary test I was stressed over in the fall when I was posting my last fic? It was the CFP (Certified Financial Planner) exam. Yes, I passed it. The designation requires a bachelor's degree, so I had to go back to school to finish my last 10 classes. Then I had to take 7 more classes that are pre-reqs for the exam. Then I spent probably 700 hours attempting to cram everything you could think of related to personal finance (my god, there is a metric shit ton) into my head. The designation also requires 5,000 hours of experience in the planning field (which I thankfully already had). By the time I passed the test, I was no longer proud of the accomplishment, just relieved to have it behind me.

Work was intensely busy in November and December. I got little reading and no writing done.

I have a WIP featuring the Darcy/Rumlow pairing that has been languishing on my computer since 2020. To be honest, I've mosty forgotten what the conflict driving the plot was going to be. I think I was trying to tie it into the events of Wandavision. Took place after the show and had Monica Rambeau and Darcy kinda sorta working together and trying to figure out what, if anything, crossing the barrier that Wanda had thrown up did to them. Of course, Rumlow is alive and scarred and back with the good guys. And also really annoyed that his recent gunshot wound stuck him on desk duty watching the nerds complete their physicals as part of employee onboarding. Darcy doesn't want to have gym class with Rumlow, and Rumlow doesn't want to be there either but he's also kinda into the sassy brunette who tried to sweet talk him into passing her without making her run a mile. In the chapter or two I did write, the banter between Darcy and Rumlow was so fun, so I'd love to go back to it and try to move it along.

I got sucked into reading Draco/Hermione fanfic recently. Blame those damn Snow edits from the latest Hunger Games movie. Guys, I have never read those books or seen the movies, but blonde Tom Blyth is looking like the fanfic Draco of my dreams. How dare. This rabbit hole led to me deciding I needed to write a Dramione piece. It's maybe 6 pages and has gone nowhere even though I have a vague idea of the plot. My muse is struggling.

I found my old folder of all the fic I wrote in the past 20 years. There are still a couple hockey fics I haven't posted to AO3. There are also Anita Blake fics (I was a hardcore Anita/Edward girlie) and Harry Potter fics (don't cancel me but I used to write Snape/Hermione; NO student/teacher stuff though). I think I have an old Doctor Who fic featuring Nine/Rose (yes, I'm a Nine girlie). And a very old Forgotten Realms fic that paired Catti-Brie up with Jarlaxle. Look, I don't know. It was ages ago. With the exception of the hockey fics, I do not think any of these are of the same quality I've posted on AO3, but I've been toying with the idea of trying to clean them up and posting them so more of my work is archived together instead of spread over various fan sites. Does anyone have any interest at all in reading this shit? Like, at all?

I decided 2024 is going to be my book binding era. I bound isthisselfcare's Draco Malfoy and the Mortifying Ordeal of Being in Love a couple weeks ago. I did all the typesetting with the help of some macros. Printed it, folded the signatures (the booklets that comprise the book), sewed them together with waxed linen thread, glued the text block together with some mull, and used chip board and book cloth to make the case. It feels and looks like a book, y'all! I could do a better job with lining the signatures up when punching the holes for sewing and with the measurements on the case, but overall I am pretty proud of it. If anyone is interested, I can link a nice tutorial series on TT and/or post progress pictures I took during my book binding experiment. I have to say, it's exciting to have the ability to put my fav fanfics on my physical bookshelf.

In my opinion Precure is at its best when it incorporates the communities that the girls are protecting into it.

This of course stems all the way back from the original Futari wa. That shows main premise is "Ordinary days and people are important", and is by nature a normal slice of life whose drama is highlighted by the lengths Nagisa and Honoka go to protect it. As such, the girls have an extensive supporting cast, and the climatic battles often feature some level of emotional support by the supporting cast, even if they're not literally physically present. The girls are the vessels through whom humanities collective will to live is channeled. We spend our time witnessing this will within the people in the girls communities.

I've mentioned before how big a theme of community is in Fresh. There are a ton of minor side characters who make brief but frequent appearances to help flesh out this bustling city. In the end the girls reveal themselves to their community.

Princess and Heartcatch make great use of the victim of the week format to help build a strong supporting cast, understanding the motivations of these characters, who in turn help support the Cures in some way during the 11th hour.

This is part of what makes Happiness Charge and Doki Doki fall relatively flat to me. Their supporting casts aren't as fully developed. There's more one off victims. But there are still moments where this aspect shines, to me in Doki Doki in the involvement of the girl's families. The moment where Mana shouts her identity as Cure Heart is fantastic to me, I can practically see the gears turning in the family member's heads. The Oh Shit of it all.

While an identity reveal isn't a prerequisite for a strong sense of community it certainly contributes to the feelings. Both Futari wa's manage to have a strong sense of community, despite their final fights taking place when earth is reduced to a barren wasteland devoid of people, the fact they still take place on earth helps them make heavy use of the fact that despite being currently devoid of life these are places where there are meant to be life, and where life can exist again.

It's a big part of why while I love Suite, I feel it's objectively weaker than it's two predecessors despite mimicking them in so many aspects. In fact it's probably tied with the futari wa's for my favorite season. But I don't think it's nearly as good as it could be in part because of the lack of community compared to its predecessors. But what we do get of Kanon owns majority real estate in my heart. The entire town is so goddamn weird, and just down for whatever. If I could add an identity reveal to any season it'd be this one. I struggle to believe that no one in this town doesn't know (though that might be because they all are so oblivious). I'd take it away from Healin Good and Doki Doki if I had to and I love those seasons reveals.

Smile I feel is far more popular than Suite, and while I enjoy smile and think it's simplicity is to its strength it's really no surprise that the episode I care most about, more than 3/4 of the season combined, is the episode where Nao sort of kind of has an identity reveal. That's also partially because I just have a huge soft spot for kids. (Muse is my all time favorite. Go, make things worse you funky little messed up 9 year old. And I am probably one of the few people who actually LIKE the baby plotlines... which makes it honestly such an accomplishment that DeliPa got me to dislike their baby). But Smile has a lot of plots that are really self-contained to the main cast, and while I do enjoy how fleshed out the girls' families are the fact that they all turn into living rocks when the villains attack really makes them less interesting to me. Same with Tropical-Rouge, but Tropical-Rouge doesn't even fully flesh out any family that isn't Manatsu's.

Maho Tsukai and Star Twinkle both have fun main characters and worldbuilding, but the fact that, like Smile, the action and human town exist sort of separately from each other really keeps them from catching my attention. I want to like them. And I do. I just don't quite love them. I really love HiroSky's cures in particular, and adore the episodes where they are part of their communities, but do wish we had more of that.

And for what it's worth the miracle lights bring this sense of community into our reality, and they used to use the side cast to help illustrate this in the all star movies. It's great.

Talking about rockstar, it's funny kpop stans keep trying to imply nobody's heard who but I sincerely doubt pjms / armys while they are definitely contributing are single handedly carrying stability of this song in a manner unprecedented with even the group songs. Especially armys who can't keep a single song stable in the charts without heavy involvement of Thailand or Vietnam. Even seven was carried by it's heavy payola - playlisting and ads - not by fandom. Plus I've heard who in the wild (as in outside) a few times now. Meanwhile rockstar is a twitter only song for me. I used to get a ton of ads on it for Tiktok but apart from that I haven't heard it at all. And not surprising because I really dislike the song. Also I can be honest, this isn't a stan thing. Rockstar has a classic BP sound which I hate. That 2-3 M it's pulling is purely fandom based.

Another funny thing is JK stans talking about LC falling off the charts after muse released. It's unfiltered streams are still not bad but yes it can't enter the charts since that extra 1.5 million was coming from the fandom. However standing next to you and LMA and friends are in the exact same position. After all this time, nearly an year, nobody's really streaming those songs except fandom who's doing it just for achievements. Like how are you looking down on LC when your faves songs are in the exact same boat. It's esp more embarrassing with snty because that song had so much promo and an usher remix but it's doing worse than LC was when it was charting. GP carrying but jjks complaining about armys not streaming everyday. So which is it? The projection from kpop stans and jjks / kths is crazy.

Kpop stans are obviously lying about not hearing WHO cause they will consistently sit and wait for the clock to hit 12am to listen to whatever Jimin drops. Even if it’s just to shit on the song cause that’s their obsession with him. Like idk why they keep playing Jimin of all people like he’s some unknown. He started this kpop wave and got the bulk of kpop twitter into the very trash groups they stan now, like let’s get serious. That trickle down effect was very real.

And LC did her thing. I don’t feel any particular way about it dropping off cause it’s been more than a year. Keeping WHO’s stable requires all focus to be purely on it and I’d rather that considering the opportunity it has coming tomorrow with radio.

Ranma 1/2 inspired musing from the recent posts, but I never got the "Nabiki is the only evil character/Nabiki is the worst" thing. Either from the author or fanbase.

Even the like, five nicest people are all kind of either dicks or so extreme that you wouldnt want to hazard being around them. That's where the comedy comes from, its tons of super powered teens but there's no villains to fight so its all just petty feuds and schemes with their parents somehow all being worse but equally petty and mundane.

Honor is less about conduct than it is about ego and not looking stupid. Cheating is basically what you make of it. & doing something solely for selfish reasons is a major motive for much of the cast, again this is what makes it funny XD It'd be like if the Miraculous got distributed but there was no villain to fight so everyone just griefs each other or causes random trouble for shits and giggles.

For reference the five nicest are:

Kasumi, who despite being the only adult with agency still threw Akane under the bus into the arranged marriage and inadvertently gave her little sister a complex about her own femininity. But is also hypocritically quick to rely on Akane's skill in violence when there's a suspicious noise, even arming her to be more deadly.

Konatsu is loyal to a fault and will basically take any kindness as the best thing ever. But even ignoring that, that's a response to having basically been Cinderella. Konatsu is still surprisingly willing to jump to murder and if more loyal to say, Ukyo than Ranma, well sorry bud, but Konatsu is willing to sabotage your wedding with knives & more.

Ukyo, generally quite affable but can have a violent temper like most of the cast, and definitely not above a sneaky scheme to engineer a break up. & also very willing to take advantage of a bad situation, even if she can also end up being helpful too. Plus again, down for murder XD

Ranma, while generally willing to help people in trouble, Ranma is also totally willing to sabotage those same people for her own gain. She tends to fight fair (Mostly) because its too big of a wound to her ego to win via underhanded methods as opposed to a moral issue. Her ego is also so immense it can lead to very selfish or destructive behaviors (Both to others & herself) & to being smug & antagonistic.

Akane, much like Ranma she has a huge ego and does not take well to stuff like her cooking causing literal food poisoning. IE, she's decided she his or has to be good/right about this so she is or will be and if she bulldozes people in the process... Well she won't notice. She can also be intensely quick to judge to he or others detriment and as with the others, can have an explosive temper.

None of this makes them evil, or even unlikable, I love all these characters and the Amazon, Rygoa and more. Whether I want to read tons of complex depth into their head-spaces or just take them as surface level teens who have a lot of power and temperamental about it.

I just don't find Nabiki's to be notably different than to anyone else. Especially, if we compare to the Amazons who are fine with memory erasure and hostage taking, Kuno being the one to buy the pictures, Kodachi and her school friend both being up for kidnapping, ETC.

Again, this is all absurdist comedy so its not meant to be taken too seriously, and given the sheer scale of murder, kidnaping and unhinged romantic efforts going on, Nabiki is not that stand out.

Honestly it's been. A while. Since I've read through all of Ranma and I don't really remember Nabiki being.... that bad?

Like she's. She's far from the nicest person. But everyone in this series is kind of a dick? And yeah she's far from the worst the series has to offer.

I also can't use the term ship without mentioning @bravesung old OC Alyssa, she was definitely a special one who refused to buy into what people said about him, and after discovering he was supernatural (to a degree) just like her it got them to bonding. She's probably believed in him more than he did in himself when it came down to school because she NEVER let him quit HELL she brought his ass TO school whilst he was still sleeping in bed, picture that in your minds if you will. I got good ships and there's even this unhealthy one right here with my girl @acoldsovereign Maiz, tons of ships starts with curiosity, cute moments and even love at first sight and this one is just violence, one devil often tries to get the other devil to dig into those natural urges and forsake his human heart (that literally isn't even working anymore) and just behave like a demon, there's also acts of public terrorism but he'd punch her right..and she'd kick him wrong, it's a tug and pull with 'em. Bruh this segment is getting long since belovedblossom also has other muses that are shipped with Yusuke too and i have a feelin we'd be here ALL day and I've still got a few to talk about. ◈　what made you pick up the current muse(s) you have?　 ⋯ 　Alright, I got a list of four so be prepared. My first muse was Caitlyn, I absolutely fell head of heels in love with her because I understood her in so many ways. We were both in the police force, both know how to use weapons expertly (no I am not lying, I could do a 40 out of 40 shot with my M16 and perfect shots with my 9mm as well. I was an expert shot in the military) but also her empathy. So naturally, I was drawn to her and who she was. And don't get me started on the haters of Caitlyn (and Caitvi) that I am even more protective of this character. She's so badass and yet so full of compassion and heart. She's such a good soul and I love to write her for all for all of this and more.

Vi, I was going to write first, but for some reason I didn't. Don't ask, I don't know why, but then I got encourage to try. Vi is like other characters I've written: Kassandra, Eivor, and other very strong ladies. So it was easy to pick her up, but what was hard was my fear of just not really giving her the same devotion as I did Caitlyn and the worry of copying or just, being the 'same ol same ol'. But she's here now and she's definitely going no where XD

My newest edition is Karlach and Aylin (Don't make me chuckle because Aylin and Karlach make me think of Caitlyn and Vi)

Aylin, I could not deny wanting to write her. A paladin of Vengeance, a demigoddess of the moon, AND! AND! tons of angsty torment to write out? Okay, but besides that, Aylin is an amazing character. She's straight to the point, full of care for people, a giant heart, and will do whatever she needs to to root out evil. I already have so many headcanons for her and I've only had her for a few days now! I'm drawn to her heartbreaking story, because there is SO much we don't really know about. 100 years in the Shadowfell? That is a LOT of shit to go through, and we don't even know a sliver of it so I plan to really expand her story. But there is also before the shadowfell, who her father is, how was she raised. There is so much of her story I want to give justice to. Just, a great character to explore.

And Karlach, oh my heart, Karlach. A barbarian who loves  violence and yet is a complete teddy bear with a heart of gold? How could I not write her? Again, a great storyline, and so much to explore on that wasn't shown in the game. She's right up my alley as all my girls are strong, defiant, yet dealing with traumas of their own. I love writing characters like this who are so full of heart and love despite what they've been through. And Karlach, with ten years of imprisonment in hell serving a archdevil and experimented on? Yes, there's lots to play on here. ◈　is there anything you don’t like to write?　 ⋯ 　hmmm, not really sure. It all depends really on comforts around. The only thing I won't write for sure is the death of my characters (unless its aylin, who can die and come right back cause she's immortal) but the others, death is finite there is no coming back. Anything angsty like that. ◈　how do you come up with headcanons?　 ⋯ 　There's multiple things that can stir a ehadcanon. One is looking at pictures and going 'oh OH!' cause something pops into my head, another is replaying a game or rewatching the show. A lot of it comes from talking with my friends and ideas popping into my head. My headcanons are often an explanation to their history or effects of history. My headcanons bring to light more of the history, personality, and design behind a character. If you want to see jsut how in depth my headcanons go, look up Caitlyn, she has over 60 headcanons. ◈　do you write in silence or do you play music?　 ⋯ 　I need music, all the time. Silence is... unnerving, to say. I can't do it at night either, I have to put on some green sound or something that will help calm my mind. I am very hypersensitive in hearing, which is why I like green or brown sound. Top 10, here we go... @antvnger Puppy-Mun is the first I am putting on this list first because of all the threads and ideas I've ever had on here the thread I've been doing with them (Space Heist) is the largest single run I've had so far. We actually had an entire 4 part mission and went to Knowhere. I feel like Rocket and Scott made some real progress in becoming friends and I love that. Every post they make is gold. They're nice to their anons and I generally enjoy interacting with them OOC and hijacking their random posts. They're also genuinely funny, which I feel is very important for someone portraying Scott. I already loved Ant-Man but Puppy-Mun makes me adore him even more! They also often tag me and I love that 💕

@byondtheveil Rei-Mun (Birb-Queen) is #1 OC in Rocket's world and my Rocket muse simply adores her. I always look forward to reading her replies and she's a great person to talk to and shoot the breeze OOC. We both love thrifting IRL so it's fun to just spam her DMs about my latest finds. Her character Rei is literally one of the most endearing original characters I've ever come across. She's well thought out and has connected with Rocket in a way most muses can't do. With her I have been able to explore Rocket's comfortability just popping on and off Earth and get some much deserved down time. @papetoonfox Papetoonfox was a RP partner I had many years ago. We haven't interacted much on tumblr but we got a RP going on Discord that I am fully engrossed in. Our conversations OOC often puts me in stitches and we have so much common interest it's so easy to just get lost in our own little nostalgic world of Y2K aesthetics and retrowave vibes. They're also very encouraging with me about my art and they produce some of the coolest music I've heard from anyone I know. I love their portrayal of Fox and so does my muse.

@stripesofbrooklyn They were one of the first to interact with me OOC when I started getting more active again and I feel we check in on eachother both ways pretty regularly I am confident to call them a friend. Our muses have great chemistry together and Rocket always loves hearing from them no matter what strange shenanigan they might be getting into. Rocket fully admires and trusts their Steve and is someone Rocket would go out of his way for.

@spidermanxnoir / @jeff-the-gnome-king First they get super points just for playing my favorite version of Spider-Man (Noir) and our thread which started off without any plotting has turned into one of the most epic adventures my Rocket has ever had. I think Rocket's gotten pretty attached to him as they've gone along and genuinely think he's cool. Looking forward to them retaining an ongoing friendship. Being able to tie or franchises together has been a ton of fun and I think we write beautifully together. Also they're super chill OOC and I love bugging them with my latest ideas. @the-mjolnir-owner This Thor is one of my best friends on Tumblr. They are often sending me posts in my DMs to see about Rocket and Thor and I just love their characterization. We also have a lot of fun discussions about Thor and the Guardians and I feel they capture Thor very well in their writing. Just in general they're an absolute joy.

@butwithmoreme I know our thread is fairly new/short but I literally hear Tony's voice in their writing, it's so damn good. As Rocket's mun I will hold a special place in my heart for anyone who doesn't just write him off for being a little shit. The fact they're being science bros together makes me so happy. @spideymn A big stand-out as a great writer. Sounding repetitive here, but I hear Tom Holland in their dialog and they feel very in character. A shining standout, and my muse likes him because he's a helpful kiddo. Happy to see them interacting together. @beatfreesmysoul They're my #1 music buddy right now, and I enjoy dropping into their DMs to be annoying lol. It's so great to have someone here to talk tunes with because I genuinely am a big music nerd. I love that they send me memes/tag me for that stuff too. As a Rocket RPer I often feel a bit sidelined so they make me feel included on things which I super appreciate. Our thread taking place earlier in the storyline is great too, kinda fun to undo all my muse's character development and let him have 'issues' he needs to work through and I love that we can explore or character's developing friendship.

@gctbusydying I am pretty sure they're my first Kitty Pryde and honestly, worth the wait. Interacting with them feels like we're jumping right out of the comics. I think that Kitty is canonly one of Rocket's favorite ladies and their friendship is important to me. I know I MOSTLY adhere to MCU canon but I've read the comics too (albeit a long time ago) but when it comes to Kitty I'm like -slams fist on desk- FRIENDS. I know we haven't had a TON of interaction but I hope it keeps going.

Friends: Oliver has met a lot of people here since his arrival. He's met ALL kinds of people, really. A lot of them are acquaintances. Maybe he's met just a small handful of people he can call a friend, but I don't know. Anyway, Oliver is pretty easy to get along with, if anything a little different and there's nothing wrong with that. Oliver is the biggest hype boy, so you'll always have him in your corner hyping you up and supporting you.

Enemies: It's hard to make an enemy out of Oliver. Even if you're a monster out there terrorizing people and such, he only does what he does because it is part of his job. It's expected of him. He doesn't really hold any ill feelings toward monsters as he ALSO understands that it is what they do. Anyway, to make an enemy out of Oliver may be a challenging one, actually. Still, it's not impossible. Oliver considers the people he's gotten close to as his family and Oliver is a family boy. So, the quickest way to get on his shitlist is to mess with them.

Sparring Partner: Oliver LOVES sparring. he loves anything that gets his blood pumping like exercises and stuff. Whatever chance he gets, he's always looking for a sparring partner, so if you feel this is right up your character's ally, hit him up! He's always going to say yes to sparring.

Hunt: Oliver is good at tracking things down with his nose. He may be capped right now, but yeah! If you're having a pest problem whether it's monsters or just evil-doers or what have you, Oliver is your guy for hire. In his world, he was a monster hunter anyway, so hunting in general is his thing!

Mentor: There are maybe a small select few he'd call a mentor back home, but here in Spirale he hasn't come across any yet. Maybe Garry. Anyway, he's still a child. He is going to need help being guided and nurtured into a wonderful person. There's always something to learn and there's a shit ton that Oliver does not know about the world and overall just anything in general!

Found family: Garry is so far his found family. He found her all on his own and he's so happy to have them! As I've mentioned in I believe the beginning of (enemies section), Oliver is a family kid. He loves the idea of being surrounded by family whether blood or not. He'll do anything for those he deems super close to him.

Crush/Romance: This goes hand in hand with romance. THIS does not give an open invitation to be a creep. I will block on sight. Anyway, Oliver is a kid. he's 16 and he's going to have crushes here and there and he's going to one day meet someone where he wants to spend his entire life with and that's okay! When it comes to crushes or falling in love with someone, it can be a one-sided thing. Anyway, this isn't really something I'm focusing on. I just thought I'd throw this in there.

I am 100% going to forget people. Mun is currently sick, so I apologize if I do. It doesn't mean I don't love our babies, it just means I'm slowly dying.

@hoodedchishiya is finally his goddamn boyfriend. This one had to be first, because this mf is the reason I created my Niragi account in the first place. Chishiya and Niragi absolutely love to antagonize each other, and even when they've done things to imply clear enough that they have deeper feelings for each other, their soft moments are still rare. However, when they are vulnerable with each other, you could just melt into the floor. These two babies have such amazing chemistry, and they're perfect for each other.

I've also got two other Nishiya ships, with @chishiya-the-cat and @chishiya-of-diamonds — Both are very undefined. With Diamonds, they've at least agreed that they're sexually attracted to each other. Cat, they haven't so much as admitted to it, as they've acted on it and keep telling themselves it's a one-time thing, but they constantly end up in each other's beds. There's an attraction there, a draw, but neither can figure out exactly what it is.

@daikichixkarube is another boyfriend. Niragi felt an immediate attraction towards meeting Karube (look, he has a thing for blonds, okay?) He was able to show the new guy around, and the flirting was pretty immediate. I think, to an extent, there's something in Karube that recognizes the part of Niragi that he wants to hide the most. Niragi has been willing to open up about the bullshit he went through with him, something I don't think he's truly been able to do with anyone else. They're very cute together, but also happy to roll around in bed together.

@aggwaseon Jihoon is a recently turned boyfriend of Niragi's. Despite the age difference, the two get along great. There's a big sexual drive there, but there are also feelings involved (having told each other they love each other.) Niragi is protective of him in a way he isn't with most; something entirely unnecessary given the age, job, and abs on Ji, but it's more of an emotional protectiveness. He wants Ji to feel nothing but happiness.

@your-sweet-cookie this man finally has a girlfriend. And we're also back to the blonds (I know, its silver/grey/etc. He likes people with very little color in his hair.) Niragi wasn't sure what to make of her at first. He always found her attractive, but he wasn't used to romance. Still, he quickly started developing feelings for her and wanted to spend all his time around her.

@yuzuhastrength While we haven't done anything with them recently, I will definitely still be adding her to my list. It's very undefined. There is an attraction there, despite their past. Niragi enjoys her company, her fiery nature, and the fact she can hold her own. And, of course, he finds her ridiculously attractive.

Not as active here on Tumblr, but I'm still shouting out @heartsking since we write a shit ton on Discord and they're my favorite person in the world. The first person I ever wrote Nishiya with - the person who watched me go from "eh, I could see it maybe being sexual" to "I will go down with this ship." And is happy to appease me for it. I want to write a story and I'm looking for help!

Hi! Hello! How are you? Are you a writer? A reader? A random human being who just got across this post?

Either it's fine. I'm all of them myself.

The important thing here is that you may be interested in helping me write a story (and possibly become friends who help each other write).

But what does that intel, stranger who wrote this post?

Glad you asked. I'd love to tell you.

Since the very very beginning of my consciousness I've wanted to tell stories. I'd even go to the extent of saying it is the first thing I remember wanting. And, of course, I've been trying to do so ,but everytime I'm in the midst of it, this thought of maybe having someone to talk to comes to me, someone to discuss the plot with and just- You know, share ideas for scenes and schemes and lines. I think it could be fun and helpful.

But to do that I need someone who's also intrested in telling stories and going through the long ass journey that putting them together intells.

I'm not looking for professionals or masters or anything fancy, just- people with passion.

So far, for my part, I've got a vague idea for what the first chunk of my story is, a plot line (with a shit ton of wholes that I'm trying to fill but somehow keep on happening) ,some characters (the two main ones and about three more) and- And some random little snippets of scenes that go through my head.

Oh and I'm currently writing fantasy. I'm a sucker for fantasy. And for romance.

This collaboration could be for you if:

I don't think I'm anything even remotely close to impressive when it comes to writing, but I really do love it. And I'm lowkey attached to my idea of who the characters of my story are, but I think everything is up for some editing at this point in time. "Love?" The man asked, spitting the word as if it was an insult. Alora didn't know his name, but she knew he belonged to Koen's court, who seemed to be growing ever so slightly tense at the exchange.

"It's important for any magic, Jekari," the woman next to her hummed. The table had grown so silent that Alora could clearly hear the sound of the wine inside the Queen's cup as she made it swirl in her hand "Even the link needs it."

Her tone had been so subtle Alora almost didn't catch it, but she knew those last words were meant for her, not the man. And she couldn't help herself but to blink as her head turned slightly towards the Spring Kingdom's Queen. No one said anything after that, but she felt more than a few pairs of eyes landing on them.

Elam turned to watch her too, sipping her wine one last time before putting it down. After a second of scrutiny, one of her brows lifted "Oh my- You didn't know, child?"

Alora wasn't too sure of what she meant by that. That magic needed love? That sounded about as absurd as everything else she had been told, and yet everything had proven to be true. So she assumed this also was a nonsensical fact about this place.

But no. She hadn't known.

And then again, what did she know, really?

"It wasn't that long ago I learned who I am" she said plainly, eyes studying the golden liquid inside the Queen's cup before taking them to her masked expression "There are a lot of things I still don't know"

The Queen contemplated her for a small second before nodding once with a soft smile "You’re right," she paused, taking a pointed look to the people sitting at the table "and it is something we all need to be reminded of, anyway. " Her eyes lingered over sir Jekari for a few moments, then she took them back to Alora "As our link to the divine, you'll need to choose a counterpart to inherit the other half of it." She made a pause, as if considering her own words "But the choice must be made based on your heart's desire. Because magic needs love."

She didn't need to look at the princes seated at the table for Alora to know her options were limited.

So... yeah. That's how it looks like when nothing intresting is happening. Just good ol' "this is whats happening" type of narration. I thought it wouldn't be fair to lure you with action when what I'm trying to show is the narrative style.

But anyway, I hope it wasn't too confusing. I've read it so many times I'm no longer capable of discerning whether it's shitty or if it's readable.

I'll go first.

I'm Lucía, I'm 20, and I want to tell stories because historically, throughout my life, stories are the only place where I feel real, where I feel seen.

I'm an absolute nerd about storytelling techniques and I've got some basic knowledge on them. I love TV series, movies, books, webtoons, anime... all that that can be a mean to tell a story.

When it comes to books specifically tho, my favorite saga it's Throne of Glass, by Sarah J. Maas. And amongst those, the third one, Heir of Fire. If you read them, that's my kinda jam.

I want to tell the story of a strong ass character (maybe not strong in the way most of them are: by being an absolute menace with weapons. But you know, knowing how to properly stab someone is always a good thing... Sort of) and I absolutely must root for an enemies to lovers trope. With lots of banter and smart characters. Super smart. And I've got no actual idea how to achieve that with my level of IQ, but oh well, confidence and desire make you delusional, so I'd say I can figure it out. I want a story of epic fantasy and adventure, with maybe a bit of politics sprinkled on top. And pain and gore. Not too much tho, but y'know, a protruding bone has always brought some good drama to a scene.

And then what was next? Oh, yeah. I think my biggest biggest struggle is plotting so much I start confusing myself. The story could go in so many directions I have a hard time committing to just one and I'm left in an analysis paralysis that has me changing a story that hasn't even been written every two days.

The writing on itself it's sometimes close to good, sometimes an insult to the english language. There's no in-between.

And I guess my biggest joy is dialog. I enjoy making up conversations A LOT. Now, if they're good or not it's a topic I feel unqualified to give an unbiased opinion on.

And then there's the rest of random stuff about me you can also add to your presentation (I kinda really enjoy knowing this stuff) So, if you care to keep reading: I'm a Taurus sun, moon and mercury, with an Aries venus. I'm an INFP in the MBTI personality test and a 9w1...or was it w8? Either way, a 9, in the enneagram personality test. I'm a Slytherin in every test I've ever taken except the one from The Wizarding World, where I was Ravenclaw. It was never clear to me what type of bender I'd be, but I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be from the fire nation.

I'm a cat person, tho I do love doggies too, and I have a weird fascination with birds.

I prefer chocolate over candies, and pasta over meat.

Blitz: The Price of Flesh (dev's tunglr)

TPoF is a really spectacular visnov. The premise is you're trafficked to one of three killers. There's ton of art, endings, customization, & some NSFW content if that's your thing, but it isn't for the faint of heart. I especially loved Celia's story. Otherwise, there's a ton of really great gore in Mason's story line.

Anyway I think Blitz would like it because of its fucked up sex elements <3 He seems depraved enough to enjoy the power dynamics & extensive dubcon.

Karin: Pumpkin Panic

Pumpkin Panic is a game I only started playing recently BUT it's like Stardew Valley on a bad shrooms trip. Like the art style alone is delicious. My only complaints about the game have been that I can't customize controls & the usage of certain Native American monsters I'm fairly certain we're not supposed to use in media, but idk the dev so I might be wrong?

Ordinarily, I'd chalk up the farming element to Momo, BUT seeing as the protag is being pursued by several monsters during gameplay, & is trynna escape the place because of the monsters, I think it fits Karin spectacularly.

Layla: Doki Doki Literature Club

This visnov is viral & has been out for ages so I don't feel like I need to extrapolate on it.

Anyway, Layla would initially be drawn to the cutesy premise, but then just wanna save everyone lol.

Momo: The Cat Lady

Ordinarily, I don't care for puzzle games since I'm not very good at them, but this game is one of my favorite artistic pieces to date, dabbling in suicide, death, monsters, & more.

This was actually really hard to decide on. Momo is artistic enough to enjoy a lot of the niche games I've played; Fatum Betula, Garage: Bad Dream Simulator, Squirrel Stapler... but The Cat Lady won out because I think Momo would relate to the protagonist since they share severe mental unwellness & a violent streak. Helps she's actually good at puzzles.

Nemu: The Mortuary Assistant

This is also a viral game. I think Markiplier picked it up or some shit & it got traction? I don't keep up with YTers. Anyway, you play as a mortician with a dark part, but demons are trying to possess the bodies, so you gotta exorcise 'em. This one isn't for the faint of heart either. The demons are pretty freaky but there's some mechanics that are potentially stomach-churning. BUT I'm a sucker for anything involving demons & the gameplay is genuinely stupendous with a ton of replayability.

Anyway, I use a ton of Christian iconography in Nemu, & the medical element would appeal to her.

Ryuuji: Dead by Daylight

Another I don't think needs extrapolation since it's so mainstream.

Anyway, I think Ryuuji would like the challenge of playing either as a killer or survivor.

He went because he thought it was a job, and easy one at that. He always went for the jobs. Always hungry for what he could never quite get his fingers on.

He never expected to get caught.

In some respects, Peter Nureyev knew he was a songbird in a cage. A pretty little thing made to sing for its supper, the strings getting pulled by someone higher up the food chain than he'd ever go. Ben and the others jokingly referred to him as much. They didn’t know just how true it was. But in most cases, he was just trying to get through another day. Another hour. Another minute.

It was so damn hot down here. And he wasn't even near the furnaces.

He wiped the sweat from his brow, stopped to catch his breath, and wondered for a while if he'd ever get free of this little cage he had built for himself. How long had he been down here now? It felt like years, but he knew deep down Juno wouldn't have left him down here that long. He was a stubborn ass who wouldn't take no for an answer, so Nureyev doubted it would be long until he showed up, probably banging on the gates to hell like a tax collector at a house that was a day late in payment. Why was he like that? He never gave up, even when circumstances were at their worst, even when the world was against him-

And then he was thinking about Juno again, sweet, honest, stubborn, lovely Juno, with a wide brown eye and a voice like sweet summer rain and cherry blossoms and the promise of change. I know how to bring spring back, he'd said. He was going to sing a song and the world would shift back into place. It seemed so simple. So easy.

That first time Nureyev heard him sing, still in a barkeep's apron with a red bandanna knotted around his neck, he found, to his surprise, that he believed him.

Juno's voice had soared through the air and refracted, echoing back in impossible harmonies and for a moment, a single solitary moment, sun spilled in through the window despite the rain and the whole room smelled of hyacinths and roses. When he finished, he held in his hand a single dahlia, its petals pristine and still faintly touched with dew.

Nureyev didn't know then what that feeling he got when he saw that stupid flower was, but he knows now.

It was hope.

For the first time in as long as he could remember, he had hope.

Not any more, of course. That had faded long ago. There was no room for hope down here in Hadestown. 

He picked up his pickaxe and got back to work.

Breathe. Strike. Lift. Breathe. Strike. Lift.

He wanted to leave, of course he did. But Hadestown had a way of stealing your mind as well as your hope, the work slowly taking hold of you, body and soul. He didn’t want to admit it, but just like the rest of them, he couldn’t quite remember where home was. Even his name was beginning to feel like a distant dream.

He supposed he was at least lucky to have made some friends down here. He couldn’t tell them his real name, and didn’t want to in case the bosses were out looking for him, so they all had their own little names for him. Ben, the one who had initially found him, called him Glass, after his broken glasses. Another called him Ransom. Another called him Rose. He answered to each name in turn. 

Breathe. Strike. Lift. Breathe. Strike. Lift.

They were an interesting little crew, he had to admit. The woman with spiky, neon green hair and lip in a nearly permanent snarl, Vespa, got suspicious when he wasn’t talking much, and had muttered, rather sarcastically, about what a little songbird the newcomer was. The one with long, white dreads and burn scars on their hands, M’tendere, rolled their eyes and told Nureyev to pay her no mind, and that she was really quite sweet once you got to know her, but Nureyev decided quite firmly that he had no intention of doing so. Ben had been the life of the party, producing flowers and bottles of wine out of thin air like an old-fashioned magician. It had been a blast until the bosses had taken notice and forced them all back to work.

Breathe. Strike. Lift. Breathe. Strike. Lift.

Ben had such a warmth to him. People always seemed to smile and laugh more around him. Working near him on the wall made the load feel a little lighter. Even just standing in his presence for a while felt like standing in the shine of the summer sun with lilac on the breeze. It was no wonder that Juno never really got over his loss. 

He had wanted to know all about what was happening on the surface. So, later that night Nureyev told him as best he could, switching between writing things down on the small scraps of paper they scrounged up and the sign language he could remember from his days of thieving. M’tendere translated, as they often worked in the noisier parts of town and had to sign to communicate.

He told them about the bar. About Buddy, Juno, Jet, and Rita, and watched one by one as their faces lit up in recognition and delight. He told them all about the eternal winter. About the dying crops and people. About how the world had gone sour and was getting worse by the minute. 

Breathe. Strike. Lift. Breathe. Strike. Lift.

He told them about Juno’s song, and the hopes they had. About how it helped ease the winter a little, but not nearly enough. About the bad deal he made to protect himself and his husband, and at the mention of the word “husband”, Ben practically sprang through the roof of the shitty building they were all holed up in.

“HUSBAND??? YOU MEAN YOU MARRIED MY BROTHER, GLASS??? YOU LIKED LADY RAINCLOUD ENOUGH TO MARRY HIM??? HOW COULD YOU DO THIS TO ME???”

Vespa had to tackle him back down to the ground to avoid drawing unnecessary attention from the bosses. It took M’tendere a few minutes of howling laughter to compose themselves before they could continue, and even now, it still drew a silent chuckle from Nureyev. 

Breathe. Strike. Lift. Breathe. Strike. Lift.

Peter vaguely remembered that story Buddy had talked about, gods dying and reincarnating in different forms, and wondered briefly if Ben was a new version of Persephone, but that’s not exactly a topic of conversation one brings up when talking with unfamiliar people.

His breathing was harder now, the sweat pouring down his temples and neck. He had to keep thinking. Keep remembering. It was so easy to lose yourself to the rhythm of the hammer strikes and the work songs that hummed out a steady beat all across the town.

He’d already seen the older workers, the ones who had been there for who knows how long. Most of them had gone blind or deaf or come down with black lung from the mines. Their hands shook and their backs remained permanently bent to their work. Never looking up. Never looking others in the eye.

He couldn’t stand to live that way, even if he wasn’t alive.

He thought of… what was his name?
