Have you heard of the comic "Bone" by Jeff Smith? Apparently Matt Braly took heavy inspiration from that comic for the structure of his series Amphibia, and having recently read the comic it does feel funny looking back at Amphibia and see it as Matt's version of Bone.
To paraphrase what someone about Bone:
teehee silly little cartoon guy protagonists teehee they make jokes and are round. but then the main villain is. a reanimated corpse possessed by an ancient deity that manifests as a swarm of locusts.
I have! My sibling has the full series, so I'll go and reread it on occasion.
It is very funny to learn this information, because, after watching Amphibia in full, I was like "haha this kinda reminds me of that Bone series lol" and. Look at that.
Also laughing because the main duo in both is literally "human girl with a sword who later discovers she's got powers and fun little nonhuman guy who doesn't really have a lot of friends and they're best friends who kick butt"

when i say i love found family, i mean that i feel that part of myself is missing because i haven’t found my found family yet and the found family trope helps me cope with that. i feel as if i might never find my family and it helps me manage that. yes, i will admit, it is sad reading about these people meeting their own family, but it makes me happy for them in a way that makes me sad as well.

We...we can find them Asher. We can...we won't let them stay gone.
[He says this both to Pride and Asher. Holding him tightly, guiding him away from the floor and to his rest their head on his shoulder.]
-Christian
(Pride shifts away from Christian, pushing away from him and darting across the room quickly to practically tackle Asher in a tight hug, sobbing into his chest.)

the reason critical role is so good is because every campaign features at least one cast member creating a character that they intend to be doomed by the narrative and matt and the rest of the cast going don’t be an idiot, Our Love Will Undoom Them. like in the explanation of percy’s final playlist, taliesin wrote, “Cheers to a happy ending for a character intended by his creator to be karmically irredeemable. May we all be so fortunate.” and just, Yeah.

Prompt 297
“I feel like we should be concerned about Tim.”
“Honestly we should always be concerned about him, but what made you realize it this time?”
“Have you seen his search history- wait no you haven’t you haven’t been in the cave all day, look at this-”
“...'Is it legal to adopt the ghost of a kid? Can someone call CPS on a family’s ghost? How to take care of ghosts 101? How do you get a ghost of a child to not be scared? What to do if you find ghost children in your home? What the fuck…?”
“Exactly, I think he needs an intervention.”
Or in other words, after getting thrown into another dimension thanks to the GIW destroying most of Amity, a trio of ghost children decide to crash in this seemingly abandoned apartment building. No one seems to live here anyway…
Tim Drake on the other hand, gets a notification that there’s someone in his main safehouse that he might’ve slightly forgotten about thanks to having his house-boat now, and sees a trio of starved looking ghost kids

no matter the ship, i love the trope where toph can sense who has a crush on the other bc of their heartbeats. They'll be stuttering through a convo and she'll just be there like I Know What You Are.
