Another Artfight piece! When I ran across @avanii's geology monsters, I knew I had to take a crack at one of them, at least.

Fagradalsfjall's eruption in 2021-2022 captured a lot of my attention at the time, and since then I've rolling around geology youtube, keeping an eye on other current volcanic events. Between livestreams and gorgeous drone footage, it's amazing what's out there to see.

By this point I've watched several fissure eruptions consolidate and eventually build spatter cones, and this big fella is a super cute amalgamation of the ways lava can behave around these events. I had so much fun playing with it ✨

This year I really tried to focus on attacking MORE people, and new people, since most of my friends do AF too and as much as I LOVE attack chains, so many of us were on the same team this year. I tried a more comfortable way of highlighting alongside my normal shading techniques.

hello! i checked your FAQ/tag list, but this is a very specific species, so I couldn't find any: do you happen to know of any yellow pine marten/japanese pine marten plushies? thanks so much in advance :)

Hansa makes a “8030 Japanese Sable” which is the closest I’ve found so far! There is also a plushie creator named @avanii who has done commission for japanese pine martens in the past, but their commissions are currently closed! your best bet might be to google for japanese or golden weasels to get a look-alike or to commission a creator. Good luck!!

hello, wanted to say that i love your work! it's very lifelike and wonderous, i can feel the care that goes into each piece. i do have a question, too: would you ever do smaller mustelids? they aren't as fluffy as a marten, but i am such a huge fan of the least weasel! much love!

I would love to make smaller mustelids but I can't guarantee I will make many, just due to how small they are. I don't really enjoy working super small, and it's bad on my hands (much fiddly hand sewing). But I do love them so I'll probably take a stab at it sooner or later.

If you're looking for realistic small mustelids, you might also want to check out Kristel Storm's (Avanii) work! She does both toony and realistic, and loves to do mustelids. For examples you can browse through her Adopted Plush section. I do believe she takes commissions too.
