I have read so many Tumblr posts about B and still none of them could have prepared me for just how much of a little freak he is. Misora is currently wondering whether he has bones in his neck.

Prologue | Chapter 1 | Chapter 2 | Chapter 3 | Epilogue (Part 1) | Epilogue (Final)
Tumblr media
The body count had risen to three; Dire Crowley, the Ramshackle Prefect (whose blood still stained the floor, the iron scent permeating the air), and now, Divus Crewel as well, the latest victim. One minute the professor was alive, shaking from anger that one of his students was killed on his watch and that he was the prime suspect of the killings. But now he was sprawled out on the ground, killed in an instant.
The remaining students — Vil, Rook, Azul, Jade, Silver, and Cater — were silent, processing what exactly had just happened. The lights had flickered only for a minute, and in that minute, the killer had struck. But the silence was broken by a deafening clap of thunder, lightning illuminating the windows, and bringing everyone back to the present, to their laughably horrible situation that they had found themselves in by sheer chance and bad luck and timing.
Silver sat down on the staircase, and put his head in between his legs, taking deep breaths. Despite his training, he did not consider that he would be witnessing death so soon. The small part of his brain that had a sliver of hope that his friend had survived their gruesome injury, but he was just lying to himself; no one could survive that.
Vil was pacing, hands clasped behind his back, and he was muttering to himself. He thought he could read people, what with being raised amongst the stars that hid behind too-sweet smiles that belied venomous words. What was there to gain from any of this?
Rook was cracking his knuckles, and then rubbing his eyes, trying to think of why this was happening. While he could appreciate the hunt, this was something entirely different. Yet, it also reminded him of several books; one being a murder mystery, and the other about the deadliest game, of hunting a fellow person.
Azul was shaking and biting his nails, his resolve long gone. Had he made himself the enemy of one of his peers? Was he going to be next? He was supposed to just be perfecting a potion recipe for the next test, yet he found himself way above his head.
Jade looked at Azul, taking in that his house warden and friend was shaking more than the leaves outside in the howling wind. He too was disturbed by the night's events, sick to his stomach even, but he couldn’t show weakness, especially if he wanted to see it through.
And Cater? He was paler than a ghost, a cold sweat glistening on his forehead, and he felt like his heart was going to leap out of his throat. His cheery smile had left long ago, and now panic was fully starting to take control. Why? Why? Whywhywhy? WHY?! Yet he stayed silent.
No one spoke, but they eyed each other with caution. Every time that they had went to the mirror and they voted through it, someone died. Was it the mirror? No… no, that didn’t make sense… None of this made any sense though.
No more votin-” Silver whispered.
Cater cracked his head around, green eyes judging every move the underclassman made. “And why’s that, Silver?” His voice was shaky, but Cater wasn’t trusting him or anyone for that matter. “Afraid that-”
“THAT’S ENOUGH!” Vil barked, commanding everyone’s attention, eyes all on him. But he was used to eyes being on him, and he stayed cool, despite how this may damn him into being guilty in their eyes. He didn’t care at the moment though, all he cared about was no one else dying. “Look at what being suspicious of each other has brought us,” his eyes wandered to the dark clotted blood that had now gone cold. He swallowed the bile that had risen in his throat, keeping the calm mask up. “I agree with Silver though; voting through the mirror only ends up with someone… dead.”
“Then how do we proceed, Roi du Poison?” Rook asked, falling to his house warden’s side. His eyes looked over everyone, picking up their behaviours, emotions, and any tells.
Azul’s head snapped up. “The potion-” he started muttering to himself, before clearing his throat and gaining his composure again. “A truth potion, but one that shows the truth about the situation, we can use that to find the killer.”
Cater looked at Silver, and offered him his hand; a peace offering. Silver took it, and brought himself up on wobbly knees. A truce.
Jade placed his hand on Azul’s shoulder, offering him a bit of comfort that not everyone was out to get him. “Was that what you were working on?”
Azul nodded, and he started making his way towards the alchemy lab, where hopefully they could put an end to the killer’s little charade once and for all.
Vil helped Azul make the potion, and both students kept a keen eye on the other, but they made it without incident. And to show the others that they hadn’t tampered with it at all, they took it first, with the others shortly following suit.
“What about the room?” Silver asked.
“We can figure that out once we find the killer,” Jade countered.
Everyone looked at each other, taking in any minute details, but everyone was calm; the potion apparently did wonders to calm the nerves… but that in itself was a dangerous effect, since now everyone’s guards were down, making them easy targets.
Vil took in a breath and released it. “Who killed Dire Crowley? Why did you then kill the Prefect, and then Professor Crewel?”
But no one spoke up.
“It isn’t me,” Vil said confidently, hoping that his speaking up prompted the others to follow suit.
Cater was to his left, and he spoke next. “I didn’t do it.”
Then Silver, “Or me… I couldn’t do something like this…”
“I did not do it either,” Jade offered.
Azul’s eyes went wide, and he eyed the next person in line. “The killer isn’t me.”
All eyes fell on the last person left in their little circle; Rook. With all of them but him left, that only left him.
He let out a throaty, quiet, chuckle. “I suppose this game has run its course,” he tipped his hat to them, green eyes glinting dangerously in the dim light. “As for why? Hmmm,” he hummed, and the hairs on everyone’s necks stood on end. There was something off about Rook, this wasn’t Rook.
“You’ll find that out when you guess the room.”
What?
Everyone took a step closer to each other, away from Rook, and they whispered amongst each other, voting on what room Crowley’s murder took place in.
“Alchemy lab,” Cater spoke for the group, trying to keep his resolve as Rook seemed to stare into the very contents of his soul, like he was searching for something.
Rook stepped forward, still smiling. “Ah, désolé Monsieur Magicam,” the whites of his eyes started turning black, “but you would be wrong.” The lights flickered again, and in the seconds of darkness, Rook was gone, and so was Cater.

Maybe i just joined the fandom space way later than everyone else, but i swear to god the WaCa fandom is only this up in arms about how "ugly" and "deformed" and "disgusting" Moonpaw is/will be as a result of incest because she is confirmed to be a chimera.
I never saw this same kind of behavior when Graystripes parents were mistakenly made siblings. Nor with Ashfur and Squirrelflight, even after the fandom pointed out that theyre half-uncle and niece. I didnt see it with Fernsong and Ivypool. I didnt see it with Birchfall and Whitewing. I didnt see it with Dewnose and Sorrelstripe.
"Maybe its because theyre first cousins?" But no, because Dustpelt and Ferncloud are uncle and niece, directly related to Robinwing.
I believe the fandom only cares about the fact the parents are related here because in their mind it gives them "an excuse" to be disgusting about her chimerism. With any other characters, it's just another instance of the writers being incompetent. With Moonpaw, "it's why she's so fucked up".
Yes, they hate her because she's a result of an incest, but I'm starting to become convinced they're only this vocal about it because of how she looks. They don't truly care she's inbred, they only care that they have "a good reason" to be ableist.
This being said as a victim of incestual abuse. Cousin and cousin, just like Thriftear and Bayshine.
Is this a bad take? Am I grasping at straws? Is this just an effect of avoiding the fandom for so long? SOS
You're not grasping at straws. I think you're right on the money, honestly.
Something a lot of people don't seem to understand is that a lot of bigotry is not overt. Ableists don't usually run around saying they want all disabled people to be thrown off cliffs (when they get to that point we're in SERIOUS danger), but they DO grab your wheelchair's handles, or speak over you when you're stuttering, or assume you're stupid or dangerous. It's usually implicit biases, and structural inequality.
This is why humor is so good at revealing these internal biases. You may not believe you're classist, you might have friends from Alabama, or Durham, or Wales, but what accent do you give your "stupid" character if you're telling a story? Why are the accents of "poor" regions associated with low intelligence?
So to bring it around-- why did we see the spike in "jokes" about "ugly inbreeds" for our very first character with a confirmed genetic condition?
I've been in and around this fandom since 2008, and I've NEVER seen another character get talked about like this. Mind you, Graystripe was the child of a sister and a brother for a LONG time, too, from 2009 to 2016 (maybe even later, I don't remember exactly when the modern tree was released). And no one did it with Bristlefrost, either, in spite of there being a pretty huge uproar about her parents being distantly related.
No one else. Just the chimera. "No wonder she looks like that" and "here she is with a hapsburg jaw" and "she'd be so slurs she'd be icky."
Characters without disability, no congenital conditions, nothing = "Ugh damn writers and their incompetence strikes again. God they need to get some fresh blood in here"
(moonpaw) = "EWW NO WONDER!! WHEN WILL THE GENE POOL BE BLEACHED"
There's also the incredible irony of the fact that like. moonpaw has a common tortie fur pattern and heterochromia. you don't even need to show an ableist an actual congenital condition, you can suggest a normal face is disabled and they will lose their minds. Bigotry rots your brain.
Also, just, as a closing note, as usual the bigot is incorrect. Chimerism and inbreeding have literally nothing to do with each other. There is no link between chimerism and inbreeding. they are once again confusing chimerism and mosaicism and trying to whine It's Just Biology because you told them their joke wasn't funny.

Tumblr media
This is a post made to appreciate the unexpected psychological depth that the KH Trinity had, which was so shamefully discarded afterward to placate all the idiotic fans who misunderstood it.
As this post notes, the KH Trinity was big on Jungian philosophy; all about the self and the "shadow self". If you wish, you can also rephrase this in Freudian terms relating to the ego, superego and id.
Kairi and her shadow, Namine. Sora and his shadow, Roxas. Riku and his shadow, the Riku Replica (aka Repliku). In each pairing, it's the former who constitutes the ego, and the latter who constitutes the id, with no superego to act as a buffer between them. Namine, Roxas and Repliku represent their respective person's most negative attributes, their basest instincts and emotional urges. This is especially obvious in Repliku's case, as not too long ago Riku had allowed those very same instincts and urges to consume him.
The difference in outcomes is noteworthy. In the case of Namine and Roxas, they end up starting to embrace the positive traits of the ego.
Namine goes from timid and compliant to bold and defiant, like Kairi.
Tumblr media
Roxas goes from (understandably) angry about his predicament to accepting his fate the moment he sees a sleeping Sora, because he's developed compassion and knows that Sora can't wake up without him and thus can't save all the people who need saving from Organization XIII's machinations. Like Sora, he is self-sacrificial.
Tumblr media
In the end, this is what saves them. They completely reassimilate with their other selves, returning to being the id, except now the superego links them and the ego together rather than divide them off. In Jungian terms, Sora and Kairi don't wish to deny or suppress their shadows any longer, they instead wish to live with them in balance.
Repliku, on the other hand....
Tumblr media
His tragedy is that he does not make that same choice. Influenced by the manipulative Axel, he remains the embodiment of Riku's negative qualities. The same qualities that ultimately drove Riku to attempt to murder his best friend now drive Repliku to attempt to murder Riku. So unlike Sora and Kairi, Riku ends up rejecting his shadow. Repliku's death at Riku's hands is a metaphor: never again will Riku allow himself to fall victim to his id. And yet, to show proof of Riku's change, he also shows compassion to his dying shadow self, acknowledging him as an equal and assuring him that his heart will make it to Kingdom Hearts just as any natural-born heart does.
Finally, we have Xemnas.
Tumblr media
As a human, Xehanort obliterated his superego so that his ego became more in tune with the negative connotations that word is usually used with. He then discarded his id so that he could have absolute purity in his pursuit of darkness. The discarded id, Xemnas, doesn't seek to achieve balance with his ego nor eliminate it. Instead, he seeks to become not just an ego himself, but the superego of everyone in the universe. All people psychologically enslaved by Xemnas and behaving in accordance to his will. Empty shells of their former selves whom can only feel base emotions like anger and hate. It makes his other self's "eternal darkness" plan sound reasonable!
Maybe you don't like any of this and prefer the series beyond's approach where every character is simply their own person and don't really reflect on another character much, if at all. That's fine, but I will never understand it. Not when the KH Trinity is so damn good.

Rooms of Improvement: Commentary
Tumblr media
Whuh... Where am I? I stumbled through so many rooms with no exit, ran out of time, ran into even more time, ran up and down the staircases until I didn't know whether I was going up OR down... I closed doors to rooms I know I'd never been inside, and found myself on the other side of doors I never remembered closing...
Well, might as well talk about some of those rooms. Overall, I'd say that I'm pleased as punch with how everyone did in the end. Imaginative rooms were combined with new/old/relevant tech and everything felt pretty damn fresh! Enchantments and rooms almost feel incongruous, but what else would they be, artifacts? It's interesting to think about their role in the game and how they are on Duskmourn as a plane; they're essentially nightmarish visions of the residents. But not everything has to be intangible, right? Enchantments as representations are super weird. I feel that rooms are the type that really speaks to how much you have to suspend your disbelief about what a room "is" in order to fully immerse yourself.
This is all preamble, though, and there ain't much we can do about it now except talk about the cards on a card-by-card basis. If you see something marked JUDGE PICK, it means that the card is notable in a way I wanted to point out to commentary readers and/or it was really close to the podium but we only have so many slots. Let's run through all these rooms right back the way we came...
@cthulhusaurusrex — Abandoned Queue / House of Mirrors
Tumblr media
I'm struggling a little bit to find the flavor connection between the queue and the deathtouch counters. The carnival aspect is quite interesting, though, and I like the nuanced link with the carnival theme, e.g. the sameness of a queue's monotony and turning everything into an assembly line vs. the reflections of a house of mirrors that trap a victim in its sameness. And I also understand the deathtouch-to-pinging part of it that's supposed to be a cute connection with the destruction. Is it worth it to put the counters on your opponent's things, though? I'd argue not, not in the long term.
Still, the concept of getting the two-in-one that could potentially kill your opponent's board is respectable in concept. Where I feel this card misses the mark is the drawback between intent and execution. Putting deathtouch counters on your own creatures is an excellent way of getting aggression in. If you've already put the counters on and your opponent has no creatures, though, the House (if unlocked) will kill your own board. The choice of the Queue either fails to account for the House or asks that the House do more than the drawback of putting counters on your opponent's creatures will allow. Selective targeting could make for strong strategy, but it's not the kind of effect that can be utilized without a lot of agonizing over choices that are ultimately not worth the risk.

@helloijustreadyourpost — Casino Floor / Manager's Vault
Tumblr media
I think that some of the single notes got cleared at time of writing, so I'm gonna go off of vibes and say that this is a New Capenna-based card? The final verdict is that this card's really sweet with a whole lot of power on the Casino Floor side that makes me want to up the cost of it for sure. Looting every turn—especially optional looting—is far more powerful in some decks than others, and if you can get it off then you're in for a wild ride. Getting your worst cards swept away as early as turn two (and then on and on) in limited? Hoo boy. It's not advantage strictly speaking, I'll give you that, but it's definitely more than I'd be comfortable with at limited for that cost.
Turn two, drop the Floor, turn three, unlock the Vault and maybe play another card, or you can save your mana for the next turn having discarded a card to the Floor to get a seven-drop that you looted into on turn four. That's kinda nuts. REALLY nuts. Consistent for sure. And I don't think that I hate that play pattern in general but I feel like we should just up the cost of the Floor or change SOMEthing about it to balance this out. Again, I like it a lot, I know that it's good—I have also been burned many a time by early consistency enough that I know when to pump the brakes. Quick note on the flavor, though: I love it, and I like the "two sides of the city's underbelly" vibes that you're going for. Great precedent, great feeling of exploration.
~
@hypexion — Plague Vats / Necrogen Silo
Tumblr media
I'm not sure exactly what format you'd be designing for, but I don't envision any standard set that would have the Room type, proliferate, wither, and Phyrexian mana all on the same card. There are a lot of decent ideas that are going into this card, sure—wither with the Silo before a strategic unlocking of the Vats, and you're good to go. I'm not strictly opposed to the one-off of old mechanics that they've added before, like having wither appear on cards like Massacre Girl from MKM. You're asking a lot more with this mashup than I think would ever be reasonable for a premier set.
I get the gist of the flavor, though, so I'll extend the play feelings to say that it's totally fine for a Phyrexian room choice to have these both in the, uh... Whatever the black sphere was, the Dross Pits? It's been a while since I've really gone into Phyrexian lore again. The Vats are what create the poison, sure, and your creatures use the Silo's feeding tube things to go ham on the counters. As for why the wither part has the Phyrexian mana, that part also confuses me a little, but maybe we don't really need an excuse for cost reductions, I dunno. Still, we've yet to hit the middle ground of appropriate mechanics to premier guidelines. What would be the main ones that would belong in this set, anyway? Curious what you had in mind.

@izzet-always-r-versus-u — Dressing Room / Center Stage (JUDGE PICK)
Tumblr media
"I'M GETTING READY," screams the Questing Beast from the dressing room, hurriedly finding six matching pairs of earrings before you send it out to the spotlight for our opening number of Spamalot! or whatever. Let's be real, this one is just plain fun to get together, and I don't think there was a plane attached but I could see this card on multiple fronts. Bloomburrow could be a funky little community to see squirrels in drag, or maybe it's still Duskmourn where someone is forced into being puppeteered in the spotlight. Eldraine and its players would be just fine, or the glamor of New Capenna, etc. Lots of ways for this card to really shine.
The comparison to Innkeeper's Talent is where we're at right now, of course, but that hardly matters because this card's going a completely different direction. Lure effects aren't the strongest, or at least they don't seem to be against more removal-based strategies. I personally love them, though, and they can really clump a board together to swing in for lethal when you have the opportunity. Having a creature with deathtouch is the funniest option, of course, but after a few turns of getting dressed up, you're good to swing. Maybe this was intended to be more serious. I don't read it that way! I'm getting into the levity of this card and the power that beefing up creatures in both limited and constructed can offer you.
~
@levelzeo — Forgotten Observatory / Mad-Man's Study
Tumblr media
I've been thoroughly impressed with how folks have chosen to expand upon how Rooms can be designed for this contest. Like with this card, having two full-unlock triggers changes how you'd want to use these rooms, the order, what would benefit you, etc. And it makes me want to see what the rest of the room cycle would look like, and it makes me want to design some in this vein myself! And looking at how the Observatory would flow into the Study, how the two doors would answer one or another depending on what you choose to explore first in terms of knowledge... Really neat stuff.
I think there's a small issue in that once they unlock, there's no static ability or reason to keep these rooms around. It turns room functionality into more sorcery-like cards than enchantments in my opinion? I mean that in the sense that once you unlock the rooms, they become permanents with no board functionality, and that's kind of a mechanical feelbad. But there are workarounds, probably. Not sure what they would be but there are potential workarounds. The only other wording tweaks would be with how replacement effects are worded. It can be interpreted in the first room that if it's fully unlocked, you wouldn't surveil because the "instead" would replace it all. The wording could be: "When you unlock this door, surveil 2. Then if this room is fully unlocked, draw two cards. Otherwise, draw a card." (Little clunky, but it's clearer.) For the Study, the only change would be "...create two of those tokens instead."
~
@melancholia-ennui — Karok Pen / Mulch Heap
Tumblr media
I think I like what you've done with the costs here. From RNA and GRN, I was a huge fan of the hybrid-and-multi variable costs, and it works well with targeted destruction vs. life-draw. I guess the fact that the Heap isn't actually hybrid is throwing me off a little bit? Maybe it's supposed to be splashier, but this card can't actually go into just black or just green or those colors; it's a false hybrid. With the complications of the effects themselves, I'm not sure if that was the best choice for how to cost this card. Why limit the perceived variability?
As for the Karok pen, there are a few weird cost-oriented ideas getting thrown around this contest, and while I grok it I don't think that's the way to go. "Unlocking this room costs {2} more unless you've sacrificed a creature or gained life this turn" could've been fine, or you could've just had a sacrifice, or just the life benefit—one of the things instead of both with all that text. Additionally, on the Heap side of things, you really wanna watch out for multiple card draw effects in these colors. Morbid Opportunist is good enough as it is. While this is a five-mana enchantment, landing this card in even a marginally good deck can lead to a massive uptick in card advantage that's hard to come back from. Maybe narrow that down a bit. I feel that this card's a great Witherbloom case, but could be simplified for sure for ease of access.
~
@misterstingyjack — Explorer's Memorial / Hall of Expeditions (JUDGE PICK)
Tumblr media
The ambition is excellent and the card groks to me. I'm seriously torn with the Hall of Expeditions side in a way that I want to talk about first, because I honestly can't think of any other card that's worded like this. And it makes sense to me! I think that ultimately it would flow better if it just triggered without the cost, but like, having that option to pay {3} is a unique and fascinating option to get around the potential for splashing the Hall of Expeditions in other decks. The only other question becomes: is there a cleaner way to word this? And I don't know if there is, or at least I can't think of one off the top of my head. It's honestly fascinating, and a great addition both to Lorehord's ambitions and to a wording arsenal.
And of course, the Memorial is great as well, both for the ability to get things back and trigger various Lorehold things, and just as a limited white card. What was the other one, Silverquill? Silverquill was one of the schools that I liked playing a lot, honestly, but I might've splashed for the Hall if I'd opened this. There's a lot to love about how these ones play together. Impulsive draws are pretty strong and recursion is as well. I think that if we really got back to Strixhaven, rooms would be a good fit. This was a solid choice of card for sure!
~
@real-aspen-hours — Faulty Airlock / Relic Storage
Tumblr media
There is a LOT of text on this card, and as a text submission I can see where things might've gone awry... Both sides would be totally fine as their own enchantments, and together they would be a fine combination. You can already see where the text issues come into play. I don't think I have to speak to the synergy because, as a room, I like both of these. Exiling cards from someone's hand is very fun, and impulsive drawing is fun, and getting to ping from exile-casting is fun as well. Relic Storage especially makes me love playing cards like Bonehoard Dracosaur et. al. because of my main red strategies.
The flavor of the Airlock and Storage together as a sci-fi theme/homage, like the other airlock card in general, hasn't won me over in terms of vibes. At a certain point I actually thought that this was more of a Lorehold card. Frankly, I would've been far more friendly towards it had it been Lorehold-oriented. That doesn't stop this card from being so text-filled that it makes it difficult to defend, though. Each half of this card groks fine by itself, I want to emphasize that. When making Room considerations, the complexity that you put into it (especially if you were looking for two triggers—like, that's asking a lot...) is going to add up to the point where it's best to go back to the drawing board and consider the simplest way to make these interactions viable.
~
@sparkyyoungupstart — Orchestra Pit / Center Stage
Tumblr media
I will give you this: the left side of this card made me giggle aloud and say "alright then." Imagine the kind of power you have to make another person genuinely smile, and then I'll use a similar power to tap the sign that says "Designing For Standard" on it. Goad has, to the best of my knowledge, never appeared in a standard-legal set, because it's an ability designed for multiplayer formats. And I don't think that it's a poorly designed card by any means—in fact, my gut says that this would be an immaculate signpost for a D&D-world-themed draftable Commander Legends kind of set. WR bards as an archetype? Yes, 100%, maybe even Jeskai bards.
Gameplay-wise, I'm a huge exalted fan, of course. Stacking exalted triggers is a joy to behold and adding them up for a big swing is pretty awesome when the bards' power supports one big maestro. The actors all rushing to center stage feel great as a swell in the music compels a group to magically attack, even if they don't have the power of the bards on their side. That's just what being an actor is like, right? Powerful one-use unlocks are a great design choice. If this wasn't a standard contest, then yeah, I'd be more than happy to put you in first chair. I've said my peace about the rest of this card, so let's just stick with the good notes.
~
@tanknspank — Empty Kennels / Grooming Parlour
Tumblr media
I love this silly little implication that Gremlins are more dog-like than anything. I'm also going to assume that this is a common or uncommon room? I'll go with common, honestly. Sorry about not editing in the room rarities there, but that would've been way too much to do with the limited time that I had. I shouldn't even be writing this now, I have to go to work soon! All the same, though, I think this is a perfectly fine multicolored common. Ultimately, I'm glad that Duskmourn didn't go in that direction, because I like the rooms as they are, but if this space was explored, this would probably be the way to do it.
Getting the small tokens to get bigger is just what the RW archetype wants to do, and making some tokens is probably more limited but I'mma go with red aggro variants (sacrifice, maybe?) as the next best place for it. White's been astonishingly powerful this set, and adding some counters has proven to be quite strong. Hasn't this effect on the right been done in another common white room? I'm remembering something similar, but regardless. Flavorfully, of course, this is a really lighthearted card, and I like the fact that unlocking the kennels releases the "hounds." Overall, I think this card is as solid as it needs to be for the archetype, even if it's not the most exciting; I feel that this kind of mechanical space has been explored well enough with rooms, honestly. Still, I'd play it in the multicolor archetypes as they would show up.
~
@wildcardgamez — Music Classroom / Art Classroom
Tumblr media
Look me in the eyes and tell me what the heck is happening here. And, well—I'll be honest, I'm just impressed with how well-formatted this looks for a card that's an absolute menace to get through. Gameplay-wise, this is honestly pretty perfect for spellslinging decks. You get bodies, you get advantage, you can play the long game, it rewards a pure spell-oriented build without taking up space, etc. That part is pretty amazing. Also keep in mind you have a card with three different activated abilities and also three triggers, two of which you have to stack when you Magecraftify them. Do you see where things would get complicated?
I want to emphasize that I want to love this card. I also want to emphasize that it's a card that would probably never be printed because of the thousand things that it does. Like, I'd play this in one of my Pioneer decks immediately, slot it in, 100%. I'd first-pick it in a limited pool. But it's far too complex for isolated design. I don't think there would necessarily be a way that I'd want to change it, too, and that's another issue that affects me personally! Well—no, okay, there are a few wording things on the right side. For one, you can just say that the Elemental token is "with haste" instead of giving it temporarily. For two, the second activation should be "until end of turn," which is...a lot of text, yeah, but it's necessary. The last thing that I'll be a grump about is the fact that the names are not very interesting at all. Yeah, the "class room" pun is very funny, but c'mon, they deserve better than just "Music Classroom" and "Art Classroom." How could you jazz those up without painting broad strokes?

@xenobladexfan — Expansive Library / Secret Bunker
Tumblr media
We're in a little bit of a pickle here. I like the flavor of the Library, but don't see its mechanical applications on Duskmourn for the survivors there. I also like the mechanics of the Bunker, but want to tweak them a little to be slightly more useful. And together, I don't think these halves necessarily feel cohesive. What does one side do for the other necessarily? Not every room has to go hand-in-hand, of course, so I'll give you card advantage as a good enough reason for the Library to have its tutelage. Turn three, you can do whatever you need, maybe cast an Eerie survivor of sorts.
The Bunker makes me want to tweak it a lot by itself. Having creatures be hexproof and indestructible upon entering only matters if your opponent has instant-speed removal that they want to fire off on the turn that something enters, and that's not strong enough of a delay to justify that. Maybe it also works with haste creatures, whatever—that's not relevant here. I think one option could be: "As long as it's not your turn, tapped creatures you control have hexproof and indestructible." It plays into the Bunker theme of hidden creatures staying hidden. Maybe it doesn't even need to grant indestructible? I think that it might unfortunately get too much into the Wandering Rescuer's space, but that's just one option. Either way, I wish there was an elegant marriage of these rooms. Making me think and tinker, though—that's still signs of strength!

@yd12k — Hidden Grave / Compost Bin (JUDGE PICK)
Tumblr media
This card is garbage. Yummy! There's some world with Saprolings, of course, but which world would have one that's also got... In the middle of this sentence I remembered the Golgari. Right! So that's settled, maybe, unless you had something else in mind. I think that if we do go that route, I like the dial flavoring wherein you could have a Hidden Grave that belongs to the Dimir and a compost bin that belongs to the good old Selesnya, but the combination results in a Golgari-themed card that plays into multiple strategies across the guilds. That kind of smoothness is super cool to me.
Sometimes the text variability is a little jarring, but edict effects plus self-mill effects that could trigger off of the sacrifice work so well together. I feel that the "If you do" could've been replaced with an "and" and a continuation of the sentence, with the milling just contingent upon whether or not you exiled something, an "if you can't" down there instead of "Otherwise." Maybe that would be a little more complicated, I'd have to ask players who are less grokable-oriented. This still groks, FWIW, in a fantastic way, and I think that this is an overall smooth-as-granite card. It feels cohesive, fantastical, centered, and you love to see how it works together. Great job overall!
~
@yourrightfulking — Singing Chapel / Echoing Mausoleum
Tumblr media
I think that I like this card overall, kind of. The symmetry is reasonable, if a little bit predictable. The adjective "Singing" is throwing me off. The ability, though, is really great for a rare, and these abilities are pushed without being too crazy. A 2/2 every turn can be awesome for sacrifice effects, and the two of these abilities feed into each other in ways that are absolutely nasty. Is it too much? Unlocking the Mausoleum first then getting into the Chapel is the right strategy for sure—so much so that I think the black side should be on the left, honestly.
I'm not a huge fan of the double mana symbols on both of these cards. You want them to be able to trigger together, and they're not so highly costed that it's okay to be stuck on one for a while. Having the more powerful Mausoleum be BB and the Chapel being, like, 3W could be reasonable to me? I want to play both halves of these cards together in my Innistrad limited Aristocrats deck. I want the ability to do that smoothly. This card currently makes me unable (most likely) to do that with a one-two turn basis despite the low costs. Argh! But that's an easy fix by getting the costs evened out to what they need to be, and then you're in for a massive rare clock, which is exactly what this card wants to be. I think I'm giving this card a tentative thumbs-up because it's so close to being exactly how I'd want it to work on-board.
~
There we go! Have fun revealing this week. @abelzumi

A storm is brewing and since I'm stuck indoors, I thought I could have some fun. Big emphasis on fun, for my sake and everyone else's. Please. So, without prolonging this too much, I'm down for some theories and speculations today and when I do it, either call me Columbo or a clown, but what's important is that I do it in style.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I've observed that these days, some idols have been a bit careless with their watches. Are they using them simply as expensive accesories? Do they need to know the time or they have their managers to do that for them? Oh, to live an idol lifestyle....nothing but idleness, right?
Or is it? The suspects today are Park Jimin, Choi Minho and Lee Taemin. My assistant to this case @peppertaemint and her reliable sources brought to my attention something we've briefly talked about a few weeks ago. Actually, we made some jokes. The situation was as follows.
Tumblr media
Was the Rolex broken and the guy didn't know? It seems a bit silly given that the watch is not cheap at all. And usually, with an item like that, you do cherish and take care of it. It's a status symbol (I'll expand on that below). Also, Minho is known for posting on Bubble at specific times. His birthday or SHINee anniversary. It's not part of the fandom's collective imagination. They don't need to invent their own math in order to come up with the number they want. It's pretty straightforward.
Now, what does 11:55 mean? Nothing for now, but it's close to 12:09 which is Minho time (thank you pptm again). Anyway, the jury is still out on this one. It might just be that Minho needs to fix his watch.
But well, well, well, what do we have here? Taemin himself showing the same negligence as his boyfriend Hyung.
Tumblr media
In Taemin's case, I wouldn't be surprised he just didn't care that his time was wrong, but then what is going on? Do 2Min need to buy new watches? Did the Rolexes skip quality control and somehow these 2 idols are victims, scammed of thousands of dollars? Is it a trend? A secret code between them? I'll say that all of the above should be taken into consideration.
Finally, the third victim (?) of faulty watches, Park Jimin-ssi. In his case, we're dealing with a Patek Philippe. It's the type of watch that a media mogul like Logan Roy would appreciate, or at least that's what Tom Wambsgans thought.
Tumblr media
Logan did not care at all about the watch and it ended up as the equivalent of hush money for a kid that they all made fun of when they offered him a million bucks if he scores at a game. Oh, I miss Succession so much.....
Back to Patek Philippe. As Tom said in his rehearsed funny line, everytime you look at it, it tells you how rich you are, aka a status symbol. Or in Jimin's case, it tells you Jungkook's birth hour?
Tumblr media
Like Minho, we also know that Jimin has his Jimin hour, he knows his way around the date calculator and so on. And given all the investigative work already done by other people (like the thread I linked), would it be so outrageous, so hard to believe that it was intentional? I don't think so. It's a sweet gesture and it shows Jimin's attention to details. He did talk about Jungkook's birthday and was among the reasons why he was livestreaming.
Pre-recorded or not (or whatever excuses/conspiracies weirdos like to engage with) Jimin wore the watch in his home and it somehow it was Jungkook's birth hour. Could it all be just a massive coincidence? Maybe. Could the Patek Philippe be faulty? Maybe, but damn, these idols should stop buying expensive watches then.
Is it such a harmful and delusional theory that needs to be buried because some fans are either pussies or plain stupid? No. This fandom loves numbers so much when it involves 20 other pairings within BTS. I think it's fine to talk about an additional one. I'm not the biggest fan/follower of the number theories, especially when it comes to I-jikookers (they work those numbers like they're trying to fix the books), but it doesn't mean that everything is absurd or completely ridiculous.
I'm not ready to close the case, my work as a detective is not done yet. I'll put it on hold, who knows what other evidence I might find myself in posession of in the future?

discussion #7 (only friends): mew's loneliness— isolation of mew's hidden madness (light versus dark)
mew is a very interesting character to me because he's so layered and mysterious. everyone thinks he's A when he's definitely not only A but B, C, D, etc.
i've mentioned this in my previous posts, we don't really know mew's intention and his thought process. even when top is crying while hugging him, mew doesn't shed a tear despite being the victim of top's lies.
it's so fascinating that mew has so many walls surrounding him and they don't break. people don't break him— well, probably top will— but mew isn't one to lament his sadness. instead of spiralling in despair, mew will rise and seek revenge.
this will be a very short post. i just want to emphasise mew's facial expression which i find eerie and bone-chilling (again, kudos to p'book for this excellent portrayal of mew).
is it loneliness or madness?
there's this scene in the trailer that catches my attention from the first watch. it's the scene when top says, "mew might have many friends, but he has only one boyfriend." afterwards, he takes mew away from (seemingly) ray's house (i guess he's throwing a party or something).
Tumblr media
my speculation is mew might've been the one driving. so mew will drive back to his place and top sees him off like in this bts picture;
Tumblr media
and top (adorably) waves goodbye at mew (i can't find that post to link this with... i'm sorry...)
however, i wonder if top calls boston or it's the other way around because this shirt top is wearing—
Tumblr media
—is what he wears when he meets boston.
top is sitting on the passenger's seat which somehow strengthens the idea that boston is the one seeking top that (rainy and cold) night. and the rest... well, the car broke.
however, something else catches my interest.
this.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
when i saw it for the first time, my heart truly shattered. he looked so lonely. mew seemed so hopeless and isolated, helplessly staring at the fishes in the aquarium, probably contemplating the promises top made or the i love you top said before they parted.
but then it hit me— mew is crazy. in a good way (?). he's downright insane that it gave me tingles (and still do).
i think there are so many ways to perceive this shot of mew. but i believe there's a reason why there's more emphasis on the light from the aquarium and the darkness of mew's room.
light (what people think of mew)
many of us collectively agree that mew is kind. in the intro post, p'book explained mew is helpful and honest. he's willing to do anything for his friends if they're in need of help.
the light that rains on half of his face indicates mew still has that in him— kindness. empathy. if nothing triggers the ugly side of him, this is what we'll get from mew— his unrelenting kindness.
dark (what we don't see)
it's ironic how the room isn't entirely black. there are tinges of dark blue— somehow parallel to the aquarium or the ocean— blue, deep and vast.
the darkness that covers the other half of mew's face signifies the monster mew hides (or he never knows of its existence until top turns his world downside up). it's blue, seemingly a positive colour. but blue can also mean passiveness and sadness.
i guess, at this point in their relationship, mew is starting to get hints of top's dishonesty. but he's still unsure because as if he's drowning, he only sees top as a saviour and not a betrayer. he can't wrap the possibilities of top cheating on him because how can top still say he loves mew even when he's seeing someone else? that doesn't make sense, yes?
additionally, it's also ironic (and heartbreaking) how this scene might be shown in between the topboston scene (or before/after). it adds so much to the depth of mew's sadness and isolation because mew might believe top is already at home or somewhere else but fucking his best friend in a damn car. i believe mew's light will fade the more top lies to him.
there's madness in those eyes that hides the surging anger so well. behind those glasses and that aloof expression, mew is somewhat already sensing the doom of his relationship with top. but he can't point fingers at top yet— not when pieces of evidence aren't enough to back him up. but this is the headstart for mew. this is when his light begins to disappear.
conclusion
mew is seriously playing with my sanity and morality because i'm team mew of all people but this guy... wow. just what on earth is going on in that pretty head of yours, mew?
i'm taking this chance to applaud p'book's acting again. he's amazing. there's so much to mew that is still yet to explore and i'm so thrilled to unravel and witness the changes mew will show throughout the series. i hope whatever the directors/scriptwriters and p'book have built up for mew won't go to waste. if mew is everything we thought he is and isn't, this will be p'book's best craft to date (but cher will always be my number one <3)
anyway, it's tomorrow.
are we ready to give only friends a try?

Umineko - question arcs playthrough -> ep 1 - 7
last part - All parts and episodes - next part
If i continue like this i might en up needing to make a master list with all the links, cause apparently there's a limit to how many links and photos you can have in one post. Oh well, an issue for future me.
Tumblr media
The witch! It's the witch! They're real and very witchy!! Death to non-believers!!
Ok but a non-witch theory, hmm it wouldn't be impossible for someone to fake all of these, at least for now it's pretty simple. And the butterflies could be just a trick of light. But eh, it's more fun to think that witches exist now, isn't it?
Tumblr media
Betting on them discovering a body or something like that.
Tumblr media
Dead dead DEAD D E A D.
Tumblr media
The perfect stuck together with a body mystery, am I right? Can't get out of the island, no contact with the outside. Reminds me of that one Agatha Christie play (and i do know this is a very common theme in her works but this is the one i saw) The Mousetrap. Very fun.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hell yeah, erasing the evidence. Gonna help the mystery for sure.
Tumblr media
oooh la la, 2 with one stone, not like i am complaining! But unfortunately i do know that he will live so yeah. All else i know is that George, Jessica, Kanon and Sayo live at least until answers arc, Rosa at least until ch2 where she pulls out a gun(????) and Beatrice and Battler the entire game. yeah, that's kind of it.
Tumblr media
ok wait a second let's think. This makes...5 people.
Tumblr media
... so prob someone else is also missing which would make 6. Huh so this is...the start of the witch's epitath huh. And i assume the two who are close are Sayo and George. We also know at least 5 people will be left alive after the 3rd night. Interesting.
Natsuhi Entered Kinzo's study and he basically said she's an Ushiromya in her heart, and he's so right. She does everything for this damned family, while the siblings all try to tear it apart. You might be insane and probably evil Kinzo, but this one was right. Even a broken clock is right twice a day or something.
Tumblr media
Still waiting for the toxic yuri + hate sex between these two. Bet it exists.
Tumblr media
yep, knew it. Well there goes the 6th one. Now as I have mentioned, i know they aren't dead but i am curious over where they are and what will happen to them
Tumblr media
wait huh did they find their bodies?? one body? someone's body, or at least someone gravely hurt??
Tumblr media
I was about to say that I hope Maria doesn't join them. Good cause i doubt it will be a pleasant sight.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Ooook.... I don't know if i should say i expected this or not. Like on one hand i did, on another i didn't. So they'll come back but...how? I am sure they will, at least some of them but again...how??? Love Jessica's voice acting tho.
Tumblr media
Back with the bold text, and yeaa... yea. Poor battler, i genuinely feel so bad for him. And i wonder how Maria will react, thank god she didn't come.
Also thought, but was Natsuhi supposed to be one of the victims, but because of the charm she was saved? And mayhap Gohda was taken instead of her? Just an idea. Also the tips represent how much their faces were fucked up, good to know. And also probably where they were originally stabbed, looking at the other red dots. Quite small tho...
Tumblr media
Gosh this is so depressing... Poor George, poor Jessica, poor Battler, poor Maria POOR EVERYONE.
Tumblr media
THAT'S THE KEY! The key that chose them! I think at least, because it seems like a pretty unimportant detail to press so much on, and especially draw like this.
So basically after this Kumasawa comes and cries about blood in the dining room, and after a bit of investigation they conclude that that must be the crime scene. They all leave with a bitter taste in their mouth. And after that the most unexpected thing happens (sarcastic)
Tumblr media
yeppp....no one expected this.
Tumblr media
I wonder if the typhoon will last longer, as for all of the days said in the epitaph to happen. I mean it would be a bit anticlimactic if the police just arrived and they're all escorted.
Anyways just realized i talked a lot here and i should've probably cut it up at the end of last chapter ooopsss. See you next post ;P

someone explicitly is asking. What do people get wrong about Porsche from KP.
I did see this when I was at work, but I decided to wait until I was home to answer because it's just too much to type on my phone. I hope I can provide you with some context for why I say that.
Okay, so before I start, I want to clarify that this is entirely my opinion and everyone is entitled to their opinion. Even if I think the fandom gets the character wrong, interpretations are subjective and there is no right answer. So all I am doing is providing my reason for my interpretation. Agree or disagree however y'all want. If you agree, great! If you disagree, also great! I am not here to tell anyone how they should or should not be interpreting shows or characters.
It's been awhile since I watched KP, so I also want to link to the post I made when it was airing about how disappointed I was by how the show handled the sibling relationship between Porsche and Chay.
But I think Porsche, as a character, is representative of all of the issues within KP. Porsche was the unfortunate victim of the show's tonal issues. It couldn't decide what genre it wanted to be and the show, and Porsche, suffered for it.
At first, Porsche was great! He was my favorite character! But as the show progressed, it became increasingly clear that the show didn't care about the non-romantic relationships in Porsche's life and those are the relationships that made Porsche interesting. They are what made Porsche a good character. Porsche's friendships with Tankhun and Pete were wonderful and beautifully told until those relationships were left behind to turn the mafia show into a romcom with Porsche and Kinn. The worst offender though, was Porsche abandoning his brother for Kinn. His brother was his motivation for the majority of the show and even his Porsche's motivation switched to Kinn, Chay doesn't just disappear from Prosche's heart. The show also failed to properly switch Porsche's motivation from Chay to Kinn but that's a whole different post.
What the fandom gets wrong is that Porsche is 1. a good brother and 2. a good character. He is neither of those things. He is a good brother at first. He is a good character at first. Then the show nuked his character. Decided that all Porsche could be was a badass, hot piece of ass for Kinn and that did a disservice to both the character of Porsche and the plot itself.
I see and can even understand why people love Porsche, but I can't. I can never get past what the show did to him. As an older sibling who did help raise my younger siblings, there is no dick powerful enough to make me forget the fierce love and protection I have for those babies I helped bring up. And I didn't do damn near as much for my siblings as Porsche did for Chay. The show needed that one thing to be consistent for Porsche and they failed and ruined his character beyond repair.
Again, I want to reiterate, this is just how I feel about Porsche. I know I'm in the minority here. Feel free to disagree with me. I don't care. Or you can agree with me! I also don't care. I really wanted to like Porsche. There was truly no one more disappointed than I was when his character turned out to be....well boringly sappy.

Extremely personal opinion: the Year One: Batman & Scarecrow miniseries was fucking terrible, but gave us one of the best murders Jonathan Crane has ever committed.
Like, I both do & don’t get why they bent over backwards to try to make him parallel Bruce as heavily as possible, I hate what they did with his home life/childhood, and most of the murders in that comic are barely interesting conceptually let alone in practice (there are also multiple plot holes, and the thing with the straw is fucking hilarious—it is exactly that joke everyone makes about Batman tracking the chemical composition of dirt, but done seriously, x10 clumsier, and for no actual reason because they could’ve ended up at the exact same place by just looking at the common link between his victims anyway. Y’know, do some actual deduction (even if the logic is a bit stretched) instead of… finding a random piece of straw in a random book, and deciding to do genetic testing on it to find out it only grows in apparently one single field in the entire world? THEY ALL PUBLICLY ANTAGONIZED THE SAME GUY, WHO WROTE THIS—)
But putting someone out on the end of a carefully balanced steel beam at the very top of a construction site after dosing them with fear toxin so they’ll hallucinate an entire swarm of bugs crawling towards & eventually all over them, where if they just hold perfectly still they can survive… then watching as they succumb and fall to their death while still caught in their worst nightmare the entire way down?
Genuinely chilling. Like, actually fucking horrifying. A terrible way to go, and a great way to show just how fucked up Scarecrow is in this story. Could’ve been a great mystery set up if it wasn’t put so late in the story that Bruce had already solved the damn thing and confronted Crane immediately after. Shame about the motive.

💥🎁🦋🦈📚 💌
Hi! Thanks for the ask :3
Fanfic Writer Ask Game
💥 What is one canon thing that you wish you could change?
Sanji being a sex offender creep & all the transphobic and homophobic centered jokes he was involved with. Without a blink, I am shamelessly writing him ooc in this one aspect and I refuse to change my mind here.
🎁 Have a piece of a WIP you want to share?
From a Law x f!Reader I am really struggling with, but I am determined to pull it to the finish. It's not even proof-read so, a warning for possible typos and style glitches:
Ignoring the unpleasantly cool air, you shake the comforter off and crawl closer, soon wrapping arms around him from behind and setting chin on his shoulder. Barely does he jerk, just a sharper inhale tells you that you’ve been spotted. “Sorry.” He mumbles, face still pressed tight between hands. “Woke you up?” “Been awake sometime.” You kiss the line of hair at the back of his neck. “And you weren’t asleep at all, am I right?” Quite a long time, filled with the natural, musky smell of his skin pressed to your nose, passes before Law finds any words, his reluctance to lie fighting against need to not worry you. “Could be worse.” He grabs one of your hands and kisses its palm, his lips dry and parched—then finally moves, but slowly, visibly fighting against exhaustion and urge to fall back into the warm bed. “You need rest,” you insist, trying to keep him in place, arms holding on him as tight as your barely awake muscles let you. “Please? At least until they call us back?” “What a few more hours of lying here will do, if I can’t—” His words snap into a hiss, but he bites his tongue and sighs, heavy, as if he threw a great weight off his chest. “Ugh. Fuck. Sorry.” You kiss your forgiveness along his neck. “Maybe I can…help you relax, at least?”
🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?
I think Sanji, even if he's erm far from my favorite character in canon? He just clicks so easily with many prompts. Katakuri is a nice victim too, I like breaking introverts with issues into vulnerability, hehe. Law for similar reasons, but I am very picky with requests for him, since he has very sharp edge and, imho, doesn't fit everywhere. Slowly reclaiming Zoro after fandom pushed him out of my sphere of comfort. Luffy is a great joy to work with but, again, I'm super picky with him cause he's tough to grasp.
🦈 Which character is the toughest to write?
Crocodile. I, frankly, see him as hard aromantic and his personality is a pain in the ass to work with in typical x y/n setting. Doflamingo, too. I enjoy writing Doffy when the topic hits the spot - but it rarely does :/
📚 Is there a fanfic or fanfic writer you recommend?
My partner's in crime (@greenwitchtaimanslayer) Of Discordant Fists and Bloody Keys will change your mind on OCs if you, like me, don't particularly enjoy this kind of fiction. And I'm absolutely not mentioning it here so he'd move his ass and finish that new chapter or add that Renna x Y/N thingie :3
@heyitsdoe and her Doe's Spicy Ramen Shop is a must, if you're looking for some novelty in y/n fics. It's something completely different from majority of stuff I see around, and since it's a collection of one shots with different characters, I'm sure everyone will find something for themself.
@childofblackmaria and her dilf collection is also a must if you're looking for a mature approach to our favorite blorbos and not only. Lale's writing is like a safe harbor where you will return every time bad winds carry you to places you didn't wish to see.
I'm slowly chewing through @harudnae's portfolio and damn, they're one of those writers I will enjoy always, even if I don't particularly vibe with topic and/or characters. Sabo/Reader/Koala thingie just opened my eyes and I can't close them ever since.
For similar reasons, @doctorgerth never disappointed me with her fics. Won't link anything because I'd need to make a separate list for all fics I enjoyed. Coop is a classic in Y/N circles, if you're new here and you're not sure yet what's your flavor, take a look around her portfolio - everything will be a good, safe shot.
The fandom is packed with talented writers, there are many names that come to my mind but didn't have much time to read everything I wanted & memorize every nook enough to throw a recommendation. So please, don't be mad or disappointed at me, if I didn't include your name, even if we happen to interact T^T I'm a slow bun with everything lol
💌 Is there a favorite trope you like to write?
Does kink count as a trope? If it does, that's what my current writing obsession is. Yes, I'm horny on main & not ashamed of it :P

castle 7x7 Once Upon a Time in the West
the western episode liveblog
Lucky me I spent like 2.5 hours working on a supper that says it should take 35 mins bc I needed to make more for my uncle & I decided to take it slow instead of speeding thru at kitchen pace & also my finger has a hole slashed on it & honestly supper is still cooking in some ways.
Anyway liveblog time
All this medical jargon. At least we get the witnesses name right away.
Diamondback? *Immediately has a seizure*
Why clink glass when everyone is already there?
Brevity is the soul of wit (clipping) We got married! Their faces so good. The slow fall of javi's into a sneer/frown, lanie's fall into sad & slightly more open rather than just a smile, kevin's look between the two & blink JE: You guys suck. KR: What – why did you do that? LP: Hold – hold up. No, no, no, no, no.
they all just *turn* to look at martha Right drink ok
LP: Hold this (hold my beer) LP: I am your maid of honor. I haven’t had a carb in months, just in case I had to put that damn dress back on. KB: And you look great. LP: Save the flattery. Kate, you owe me dinner. I’m picking the restaurant and we’re ordering all the desserts. KB: (meekly) Okay. WE didn't get that call. Once again, not invited. & hey when I was a kid I made a skit on the Nativity of Christ by myself & when Mary & Joseph got married I didn't think of "I do" as the marriage, I didn't think of rings, I didn't think of vows, I thought of dancing. My stuffed animal that was Joseph & I (playing Mary) spun in circles together while I sang. To me, a wedding is about dancing. What I mean by this is: the reception is more important than actually getting married so don't worry u didn't miss a thing
RC: Could have been worse KB: It still might be. I mean, who knows what they’re doing to our place right now.
RC: Our place. Our. We’re married. We’re married. (he grabs her arm and links it with his) We did it, Mrs. Castle. KB: We certainly did, Mr. Beckett. RC: WAIT UNLESS THAT ADDS ANOTHER NAME TO HIS NAMES. Richard Alexander Edgar Rodgers Castle Beckett.

She looks good btw, nice hair. HOLY CRAP THAT HOSPITAL EMPLOYEE WEARING A JACKET OVER HER SCRUBS, i THOUGHT WAS A DOCTOR COVERED IN BLOOD & SHE WAS JUST CHATTING CASUALLY OUTSIDE AN OPERATING ROOM.
aT LEAST HE'S TRYING TO BE POSITIVE ABOUT MURDERS NOT MAI TAIS. whoops i didnt' realize caps lock was on. Also it is hard to type when I have a possible tendon injury in my finger
KB: And she believed she was a victim of foul play? Yay murder victim helping ppl know that they ARE a murder victim before they die! Dr: Yes, and so do I. Heart medicine? cardiac arrest? wait WHY is it lethal when unrefined? It is the same drug, just has other stuff near it like... fibre & calories & water from the plant... Unless the drug is actually altered on a chemical level... idrk. But yeah foxglove is medicinal & toxic. Why would the doctor want the detectives to do that? idk. Doesn't matter. All good.
Dagmar. (love-- I forget what I was writing, it's been a week or several. Oh wait maybe I was saying that I love people who sponsor disadvantaged children.)
Her mom only passed this recently? Oh & ew internship.
utter, whittle, such good diction *looks at him* Castle would be really smart abt this tho, he would give two smart answers, & then he'd say "third while you thought I was playing on my phone I found out it was a ranch in arizona"
but what's a "dude" ranch? XD esposito & castle XD they're still mad legit just tosses them his wallet XD
Sus (short, last minute, only 3 days) Beckett just does the time zone math in her head!? & according to sito the snake key is her bunkhouse key... "cowboy activities" so gay sex /j but also lol define cowboy activities, shovelling poop & breaking down your cattle into quarters for sale? she left her stuff OR she didn't bring it back with her bc she was in such a hurry
lol big boy & it hits him in the forehead
Video calls, ah yes. It's about the economy of the town, keeping people employed. Or yeah no it's personal. Love the set design too btw
Gates is pretty Sito shup. GATES OMG "I’m sure it was Mr. Castle’s fault." GATES OMG
RC: Well, look at this place. I mean, it’s got beautiful skies, wide open spaces, the thrill of the old west? (she’s still confused) What better place for an impromptu honeymoon? (her jaw drops) For the investigation, of course. We could jump on a plane and be there in a few hours. *right in front of gates* KB: No, Castle. We are not having a honeymoon at a dude ranch! ("a" honeymoon) Arguing so good RC: Well – it could be our cover story. We’re a newlywed couple with a hankering for the wild frontier, right? And look, Beckett. I know you want to see justice brought to this young woman’s killer. And … this … this is the only way. VG: I hate to say this, but your husband may be right. KB: *turns to look at her bc 1- why r u defending him, & 2- why are YOU defending HIM?* rysposito shared communication (Yeehaw) fricking love it. So excited for this ep.
(btw, I must have started this liveblog on the 27th; it is now oct 10, so you can see how busy my life is) clipping the fun intro but that horse whinney is the typical stock audio
Wow pretty people
Castle already looks kinda normal.
RC: Best honeymoon ever.
*Right out of the stagecoach KB steps into a pile of horse poop. She cringes.*
Love his outfit!!
James Grady. That's like James Jim Brady who disappeared mysteriously with Absolom Abbie Halkett. Love the language they use 'round here btw. Red bandannas is a good marker for the hands I think.
Aww upgraded them! Oh wait she was emailing about the fact that she was in room 14, the snake key wasn't relevant
JG: That’s my missus. Like yours, she runs the show here.
Castle speaking reminds me of firefly.
She's soo pretty
RC: Whoa. This is like, three fantasies coming true all at one. Only thing missing is … Gentlemen James, where do we get the replica guns? (he gestures shooting) Like yours. JG: Replica? Son, this is Arizona. It’s open carry.
Colt 45 babes
RC: (awed) I want to be him when I grow up. KB: (shrugs) Well yeah, if you grow up. JG: It’s all about practice, which you can do with one of our firearms, available for purchase at our gift shop. They just sell guns at gift shops in arizona? what!?!?
you mean ESPOSITO was wrong abt it being her bunk key.
RC: Are you looking for disinfectant? KB: Clues. Remember? Whitney was staying here. except she was NOT... this was not her room key.
whether we like it or not (big bro said aww)
He opens a door that turns out to be to the bathroom. But the bathroom isn’t empty. Tobias: Howdy, partner. RC shuts the door and turns back to KB. RC: I don’t know if it comes with the room, but there’s a naked cowboy shaving in our bathroom. This scene killed me. Just closes the door back on him. Tobias: Well, I guess when they found out that me and her both enjoyed chasing cowboys they figured what the heck. VERY authentic Tobias: I like my coffee like I like my men: strong, black, and bitter.
Tea (scandalbroth) (big bro loves this, he says "I love this faggot")
Of course they have a gay gossip at the cowboy honeymoon retreat. KB: So we procrastinate and make stuff up?
Well because you're more physically capable of hogtying beckett, you're the angry cop with training, he's the physically big writer who fences. But he gave you gunslinging!
they're allowed their phones?
Looove the outfits btw but I'm not taking a pic rn I have no time & don't have em standing beside each other.
KB: Hey Ryan, how’s it going? KR: Oh, wonderful. In fact, we were just discussing your nuptials. JE: Not the actual event, since neither of us were there. KB: Guys, is this really why you’re calling? KR: Partly, yes. JE: And we have news. Here’s the good: MTA cameras show that Whitney’s bags were left on the subway. KR: Here’s the bad news: they were stolen by a homeless man. But we put out a BOLO. Hopefully somebody will recognize him.
Wax covered cardboard? I thought that was like a broccoli case
She can tie up castle like how the bear tying class unus annus did tied up mark
Look at her nice & red dress
RC: I’ll take a coffin varnish. Bartender (who looks kinda cool ig): Some what? RC: You know, a gut warmer. Face burner. Nose paint? Cowboy cocktail? (the BARTENDER looks at him blankly) What do you all call whiskey here? Bartender: Whiskey RC: *flails his hand*
my man has an eyepatch wait XD keep an eye out! Castle!
Ollie: This isn’t a ring. It’s a noose.
Oh the bells are the signal for the ace up the sleeve thing & time for the gunfight.
Whitney did! *doesn't talk to whitney bc she dead* Ollie! Up high! Good on Castle for faking it with Ollie & Ollie for playing along so they can have their fight in private. Great dynamic. But the interruption made them both chill out a bit more.
Ranch key! *lock breaks*
Nice blowtorch but where the heck is it?
Dynamite IS covered in waxed paper but I thought of broccoli lol
Oh no we are going to receive some good old fashioned racism. My fnmi ass sitting over here waiting tensely 1876 babey!
CLIPPING RYAN ESPOSITO XD XD castle could have totally greased a palm for a truck.
15 miles on horseback? 4mph, that's 3 & a half hours or so bought himself a gun lol. I mean hey I'm anti gun but I love a sixshot. wait his& hers wedding gift guns? lmao that's great! But how will they get them back home?
love the fire there. If they're at a canter the entire way they could get there in 1h but thet ain't happening.
Yavapai dude: Seriously? You’re rolling up to the reservation dressed like extras from a Gene Autry movie? That’s some real cultural insensitivity. KB: Sorry. Sir, we didn’t mean any offense. We’re – we’re vacationing at Diamondback. YD: Yeah, I figured that. I was just messing with you folks. Relax.
Loooove languages. I watch murdoch mysteries & a lot of the languages are algonquian which means that since I know a bit of cree I can sometimes parse what they mean but these are words farther south. I don't know em.
KB: Yeah. I mean, the historical society, the Yavapai word, the dynamite. How does all of that add up to someone poisoning Whitney? It just doesn’t make sense.
He DID learn smth at the harmonica class!!! Cruising down the river? Let me call you sweetheart I'm in love with you? Magical, drinking champagne out of tin cups. Which one of them knew how to start a fire. *stripping* *there's a snake* *beckett fucking shoots it!?!?* *ryan & esposito run*
ryan & esposito look good now but esposito was different yesterday
the peacock boys?
first name Javi Castle stuttering
right, always the barkeep even if there was no mistranslation it would still happen just from english to english
the dam!
RC: Of course I want to go after the gold! It’s gold! he's done treasure hunts with her before uwu
Slim's a girl! Clyde is whitney's father!
Mm music! fake eagle (red tailed hawk) sound effect them thar hills
He told her to go first but he's first in... RC: Because it’s still here. For over a century, fifty ingots of pure gold have been trapped in this cold, dark tomb, waiting patiently to be rescued. (he kneels by the trunk) You hear that, Beckett? You hear them calling?
That's not gold!
That's blunt force trauma!
Pd? phillip dagmar? I thought it was Police Department typical cops "it DOES make u look guilty"
Bro said "it's them" bc the sheffir didn't want beckett to investigate in the first place but now daisy mae & the sherrif are taking beckett one way & james grady is taking castle alone the other way...
& I suddenly remember the rest of the episode, big bro is not far off.
Clyde "just fell" (& you cradled him as he died which is why YOUR shirt was bloody) Who was your other partner? Cut to: big bro's prediction
The slight pushzoom there...
*got his gun* it would be fun if the barkeep just shoots him (-big bro) But his gun ould have the safety on, but possibly a bullet in the chamber.
oh the barkeep IS there! *just ducks down a bit*
"residance in the bone ortchard" or castle you COULD sit down & have another drink & pretend you didn't hear the call from ryan & let jimmy get away (& then go after him later)
of cour'se it's a deus ex machina
RC: good thing I married the fastest gun from the east
Ooh beckett's corset tho it's a bit tight but still nice.
they like to bitch ig but it is not even GOOD bitching sometimes. kind of annoying. & "we're the reason they fell in love in the first place" where's your justification there? When you were complaining TO THEM it was FUN! now it is not in the fun way it's just bitchy & salty.
JE: Nah, nah. You know what really gets me? Is that they only invited immediate family. What, we’re not family? KR: More like poor relations. VG hangs back and listens to them talk. KR: And we’re probably the reason they fell in love in the first place. JE: Right? VG: You know, I’ve been listening to your bellyaching for the last few days. And I have to ask, *calm voice* VG, still calm voice: what the hell’s wrong with you two? (the way she says it is so good but she's also right) JE: Come on, sir. It doesn’t bother you? VG: You really want to know what I think, Detectives? *Ryan goes to say something. Maybe. He moves his mouth.* VG: I think that the two of you should stop whining like two little schoolgirls who weren’t invited to the dance and be happy that your friends, you very dear friends, have found a way to make it work. Especially after all the hell those two have been through. Now, that’s what I think. She gives them a pointed look. They’re chastised. KR: Well, when you put it that way … JE: Yeah, I mean, I guess in some opinions we have been kind of jerks about it, so … KR: Right. VG: Yeah. You have. But, if you’re interested there might be something you can do to make it up to them. She smiles. They’re skeptical. *Looks to esposito for a sec*
"you didn't invite us to your wedding" "Yeah well I named horses after you"
she lassooed him with her hog tying skills!
supposed to be a wedding dress; is a stripper dress *walking to her tied up* two vacation days is not a lot but four is a lot.
They get two honeymoons!
Well now, that was fun! & I did spend a bit over an hour & a half... esp when you consider I already watched some earlier but shush I had fun & this is a rare occurrance these days with how demanding school has been. Man trade school is a lot of work.

Big and Chunky | Eddie Munson x Plus Sized! Reader
Tumblr media
Hawkins was an unfortunately small town. A small town that was allegedly cursed with tragedies happening at least once a year at this point. If it weren't for you trying to make it by in school you'd make the effort to investigate what the hell was actually going on in this damn town. Alas, you were constantly distracted by the constant stacks of homework and the other tribulations that came with your young adult life. This year's tragedy had involved your crush, Eddie 'the Dungeon Master' Munson and how he somehow was some sort of serial killer. That's when you had enough of a push to do your own investigation about how the hell this was happening. You knew Eddie wasn't capable of murder. Sure he was a lot of things but he wasn't a killer. You had no idea where to start. So you figured you'd start at the police department.
You baked some cookies and decided to take it to the police as some sort of peace offering. As soon as you got the station you saw some cops coming in and out of the building. You grabbed the plate from your passenger seat and got out of your car. You put on your best fake smile and went inside the station.
"Ms. L/N what brings you here in the middle of the night?" It was the newly appointed chief Powell. "Are those cookies?" A lot of the movement in the building sort of stopped out of curiosity. "They are. Look, I know you officers are hard at work trying to get to the bottom of this investigation and I also know the town seems to be against you. So I decided to bake you guys these cookies as a reminder that you still have someone routing for you." You smiled. "Well that's real sweet of you Ms. L/n. I can't speak for everyone but I'm sure it will be well appreciated." He went to grab the plate. You kind of pulled back. "Uh actually Mister...I mean Chief Powell, while I'm here I was wondering is there anything I can do to help?" You asked.
Meanwhile you took the opportunity to skim the desks near by to see if there was anything laying around that could help you. "I can't say that there is." He stated and went to grab the cookies again. "Are you sure? You see I'll be honest, I do admire the work that you guys put in. In fact, I've considered joining the force after school. Perhaps you can give me some pointers or let me tag along wi-" You began to ramble a bit as your eyes were still searching for some sort of clue. "Uh actually Ms. L/N, as nice as it is to see someone as young as you interested in this line of work right now isn't exactly the best time t-"
"I disagree completely, I'd say this is the best time. More hands on opportunities. This kind of stuff just doesn't happen all the time." You tried to argue. Your eyes finally landed on the bulletin board you saw in the background. It was as if the police were trying to find a link between the victims but it looks like they are stagnant. "Ms. L/N, I truly appreciate your enthusiasm but you're still in school and-" You finally looked him in the eye. "Actually its fine, you're right. It could be dangerous. I wouldn't want to be the next victim anyways. Thanks anyways." You smiled and handed him the plate. He seemed confused but you just walked away and left.
You went and got into your car. You had to sit and think. What was the possible connection between the popular sweetheart Chrissy Cunningham, The nerdy boy from Journalism Fred Benson, and most recently basketball player Patrick McKinney? You would understand Chrissy and Patrick. The connection is that they were both relatively popular and represented Hawkins High as model students. But Fred? He didn't fit in that equation. Sure he was a sweet guy but he wasn't as noteworthy as the other two students. So why him?
You pulled out of the parking lot and drove off in frustration trying to figure it out. You were drawing a complete blank. You weren't even sure where you were driving to but you didn't stop. You decided to go to one of the Hellfire member's house. You knew that was where Eddie and his band would practice in the garage. You pulled up to the drive way. You saw the boys fixing their equipment. You got out from your car and shut the door gaining the attention from the group of outcasts. "What the hell are you doing here L/N?" Gareth said.
You walked a few steps forward then leaned on the hood of your car. "Come on there's no need to be an ass Gareth." You stated. He rolled his eyes. "Sorry, do you mind sharing with us the reason for you to be gracing us with your presence, Y/N?" He asked. You stood up straight. "Better. I could have done without the sarcasm, but better." You stated. The boys were starting to look a little annoyed at you and the lack of getting answers. “Where’s Eddie? Better yet, do you anything that could prove his innocence?” You asked. They looked surprised at you. “You want to help him?” Jeff asked. You nodded. “Of course I do. There’s no way Eddie would kill anyone. At least not on purpose if anything.”
The boys looked at each other. “Look, even if wanted to help our buddy out we’ve got nothing. Jason and his gang of assholes came by earlier today asking about Eddie. Messed with our shit to get us to talk. I’ll tell you the same thing I told them, that kid Dustin Henderson called us a few days ago asking about where Eddie might be staying. Seems like Eddie was staying at reefer Rick’s. If they haven’t caught him yet, he’s definitely not there anymore. Besides, I’m sure there are cops crawling all around Lover’s Lake.” Gareth explained. You nodded in understanding. Jeff scoffed. “Hell you’d have a better chance checking his trailer.” He said almost in a sarcastic tone. You beamed brightly. “Jeff my boy, you are a pure genius.” He seemed confused. “I am?” He asked.
“Of course! The cops are probably all searching Lover’s Lake and most likely aren’t at the trailer park anymore.” You stated enthusiastically. You got back into your car and sped off to the trailer park. It was so incredibly dark but as soon as you arrived to his trailer you saw a few bikes outside. You had gotten out of your car and ran up to the door. You swung the door open causing the kids inside to shriek which in turn made you shriek as well. You heard some muffled sounds coming from the ceiling. You saw a very strange dark vain like hole and what appeared to be bedsheets going into it.
“Who the hell are you?” The curly haired boy asked. You knew him to be Dustin. “Uh...Y/N L/N. We’ve met before actually. You asked me to join your campaign the other day but I couldn’t make it.” You explained. You heard some more muffling coming from the ceiling. “W-What is that?” You asked. They all looked at each other. “It’s a portal.” The young girl said. “I’m Erica by the way. Lucas’ unfortunately younger sister.” She introduced herself. Lucas turned to her looking very upset. She just flicked him off. “A portal to what?” You asked. Dustin pinched the bridge of his nose. “It’s a portal to a world just like ours but its pretty much lifeless and upside down.” He explained. He then grabbed a mattress and set it on the ground underneath the hole. You heard some more muffling from the ceiling. “What’s going on?”
“Well, you kind of came in to the middle of everything so out of context it definitely doesn’t make sense.” Lucas stated. “Nancy, Steve, Robin, and Eddie are all stuck in the other world and we are trying to get them safely out.” Max the red headed girl explained. All of a sudden you saw Robin drop from the ceiling and onto the mattress. “Hey that was kind of fun.”She said as she got helped getting off the mattress. "Y/N, I didn't realize you were here too." Robin stated. You nodded. "Uh...yeah. Just kind of joined the party I guess." Next thing you knew Eddie was next to drop onto the mattress. He sat up. "That.was.fun." Eddie got helped up as well and got off of the mattress. “L/N, what are you doing here?” He said surprised to see you. “I actually came to find you. To see if I could help prove your innocence.” You explained. “You came all this way for little ol’ me?” He asked placing a hand on his chest seeming to be very touched. “Uh yeah...didn’t realize I was getting myself involved into some freaky shit.” You stated. Eddie grabbed your hand. “Here lets talk outside.” He pulled you out of the trailer. He took a deep breath. “Shit I missed fresh air.” He said.
You giggled a bit but was generally concerned about what he had probably just experienced. “What the hell happened?” You asked. “Too much shit. Too much for me to process. Hell I can hardly process you being here right now.” He explained. “Well I knew you weren’t capable of murder so I wanted to see what I could do. I’m a little late on the case though.” He shrugged. “Well better late then never sweetheart. I appreciate it.” He said. “How’d you figure out where I was?” He asked in turn. “I paid a visit to the Hellfire club.” He nodded. “How are they holding up?” You shook your head a bit in contemplation. “I mean they’re alright but they don’t look the same without you.” The door of his trailer slammed open. It was Max. "He's got Nancy."
Eddie began to rush inside with you right behind him. "Who's got Nancy?" You asked. Nobody answered. Everyone was rummaging around Eddie's things. Robin had a handful of...god knows what in her hands. "Seriously what is all this shit?!"Robin questioned in panic. Eddie began to panic too. "I mean I don't even know what you're looking for!" He yelled. "Madonna, Blondie, Bowie, Beatles, music! We need music!" She shouted. He grabbed whatever was in her hand "THIS. IS. MUSIC!" He shouted back at her. "Okay yelling at each other isn't helping." You tried to reason and were now getting frantic yourself.
"We need to find something or Vecna is gonna kill Nancy!" Max exclaimed. You began to look around to not entirely sure if you were helping. "What kind of music are we looking for?" You asked. "Anything Nancy would listen to." Robin said as she continued to search. "It has to be her favorite song." She explained. "Does anyone know what the hell her favorite song is? For all I know she could like Pat Benatar or Metallica." You stated. You heard some voices from the ceiling. Then Nancy dropped on the mattress seemingly unharmed. Robin helped her up. Steve followed behind her and landed on the mattress. Dustin helped him up and off the mattress. Nancy was extremely quiet. She looked frightened.
Morning had come and she sat everyone down and explained what she saw in the vision that Vecna showed her. It sounded horrible. You didn't know who this guy was but he sounded awful. It seemed like he was the true monster behind the murders and that he needed to be taken down. That's when the group formulated a plan for them to get weapons in what sounded like an illegal hick store and yet it allegedly was pretty legal. To get there you all needed a vehicle and to make sure Eddie wasn't spotted. Max ran to her house and came back with her Michael Myers mask I'm assuming she had from Halloween.
"You can't be serious." You stated. "Its all I had." Max explained. Eddie shrugged. "Guess its better then showing my pretty little face for all to see." He said and put it on. You all snuck around the trailer park following Eddie. He led you guys to an RV that was parked. The owners lounging right outside. Eddie went to the window in the back and slid it open. He jumped up and shimmied his way inside. "Are we actually doing this?" You asked not sure if this was a good idea. Was this considered grand theft auto if its technically a home too? This has to be worst though. "Shh." Erica shushed you. Everyone began to climb in the RV and you were at a loss because you were sure you 1) Couldn't pull yourself up there. And 2) Couldn't fit through the damn window. "Y/N. Come on." Nancy whisper shouted as she waved for you to hurry up. You did sort of a running start and jumped up to the window. You definitely struggled to pull yourself up. The group grabbed onto you to pull you in but your hips got stuck. "Damn these hips." You muttered as you heard Eddie hot wiring the vehicle.
"Eddie! I'm not in yet!" Then Steve hopped in the driver's seat and started the getaway. Your legs flailed in the air. "Hello! My ass is out the damn window!" You exclaimed. The kids were doing their best to pull you in and honestly you were pretty embarrassed at this point. Eddie came over to your aid and tried to help pull you in. "I'm going to get ripped in half here!" Eddie made his way right in front of you and was grabbing your torso while the kids continued to pull your arms. Soon Steve made a sharp turn causing everyone to fall back and the rest of you to launch right through the window for you to land right on top of Eddie on the couch.
You looked into his eyes and your cheeks were burning. Partial from the embarrassment and then partial for the fact that you were on top of Eddie freaking Munson. "Well that's one way to make a landing." Eddie remarked. You quickly made an effort to get off of him. "I'm so sorry." You stated. "Nah. Don't be." He sat up and reached behind you to shut the window. His eyes never left yours as he did so. He was a mere inches away from your face. You could've died right on the spot. The two of you got off the couch and you made your way to one of the seats by the table. Eddie sat across from you.
"I appreciate you wanting to come with us even though we're breaking several laws." He said. You let out a single laugh. "Yeah who would've thought. I mean I guess I knew I was going to breaking some laws by aiding and abetting a fugitive but this takes the cake." You stated. "You didn't have t-" Eddie began. "I wanted to come." You cut him off. "You're badass L/N, I'll give you that." Eddie said a smile plastered his face. You scoffed. "I hardly would call getting stuck in an RV window and needing a group of freshmans and you to help me, badass." You replied. "But of course. I've unfortunately got my mother's hips." You laid your head down and sighed out loud. "I think you've got some pretty nice hips." He stated. You shot your head up. "You do?" You asked. He nodded. "Not that I stare at your hips or anything, I just think they're um...they're uh...pretty...rad?" You furrowed your eyebrows together. "Rad?" You repeated. "So you must've really believed in me for you to risk coming to find me." Eddie stated changing the subject entirely.
You nodded. "You're a lot of things Eddie, but you're no killer. To hell to everyone who thinks otherwise." You stated. He smirked. "So I uh...remember you mentioned Metallica earlier, when we were looking for something for Nancy. You know them?" He asked. You nodded. "Hell yeah, I know Metallica. I don't live under a rock." You answered. "I hadn't realized you were a medal head." He stated. "Yeah well...you can't judge a book by its cover or some shit, right?" You responded. He laughed. "Yeah that's true.
You had continued to talk to Eddie until you arrived to the store. Everyone got out except Eddie since he obviously couldn't be seen and you decided to stay back and keep him company. "So how have you been?" You asked. "I know its a bit of a stupid question since you're obviously being hunted down, but I just thought I'd ask anyways." He smiled at you. "Well my life took a major shit rather quickly. '86 was supposed to be my year. At least I have you guys looking out for me. I honestly don't know what I'd do if you guys didn't believe me." He explained. You nodded and reached out for his hand. You grasped it. Eddie looked down at both of your hands together and he looked back up to you. You offered a comforting smile. "You can still make it your year. We can get you through this."
"Even if you do, people are still going to believe I'm a satan worshipper who killed Chrissy." He reminded you. You sighed and nodded. "What was she doing in your trailer anyways? That night." You could not help but to ask. "Buying drugs, like anyone else." He stated. "Seemed like she was pretty paranoid and wanted to calm herself down so I was looking for something in my trailer that could work." He explained. You were surprised. "Chrissy doing drugs? I'd sooner believe she'd cheat on that stiff Carver with you, then that." He laughed a bit. "Yeah I was surprised to when she asked me." He sat back and crossed his arms. "And that whole Chrissy and me thing? Wouldn't have happened." He said. "Oh really? Why because she was out of your league?" He grabbed his chest and faked getting wounded. "Ouch L/N. You're breaking my heart here." You started laughing. "But no, she just wasn't my type. Too..." He trailed off. "Preppy?" You asked. He shook his head. He then motioned his hands close together right before they could touch as if he was signifying something small. "Tiny." He said. You were lost and didn't quite understand where he was getting at. "So what is your type?" You asked him. He slowly eyed you up and down. A sly smirk grew on his face. "I like em' Big and Chunky."He stated.

BACKGROUND MUSIC, AARON HOTCHNER X FEM!READER
APART OF THE HUMBLE QUEST SERIES
SUMMARY: two agents, one department, both wondering if they’ll leave behind some type of legacy, or if they’ll just be two faces on a plaque in the hallways after they leave,
inspired by background music by maren morris
warning: angst, swearing, & usual talk of a cm case
lowercase is intentional!! wordcount: 0.7k
a/n i linked the performance to background music: in rare form, because it reminded me sm of my maren show and brings me so much joy!! i also finally get to write hotch so im so excited!! ps. i hope i did this song justice. i really hope i did. also gif by @hqtchner !!
WATCHING AS THE FLASHING LIGHTS AROUND THEM LIT UP THE OUTSIDE OF THE BRICK BUILDING,
agent y/n hotchner, and aaron hotchner watched as derek had put the suspect into custody, presumably sending him on his way towards the local towns police station.
it took them three days, 22 hours and nine minutes to catch the unsub who had gone on a killing spree, and for the first day and a half, he had the bau stumped, basically leading them on a wild goose chase until he had slipped up.
the h/c girl watched as the rest of her team filed into the vans, and she was soon to follow, with a look of disappointment, and longing filling her face. with hotchner quickly noticing, taking note to ask about it when the two got back.
it took six hours, and a few different vehicles to get back to the hotchner’s apartments, and as soon as they did, the two were in bed, doing their best to fall asleep, but both were unsuccessful.
after awhile, aaron spoke up, splitting the silence between the two, “what’s keeping you up?”
“do you ever think about the legacy we’ll leave behind once we leave the bureau?”y/n asked softly, before turning to face her husband, “seriously aaron, do you ever think about how in ten years we might not even be there, and we might just be some names on a goddamn plaque.”
“we’ve got time, but we’ve also gotta realize that we’re human. especially with our job, one of us could be taken at any moment.”she went on, and she studied her husbands face, waiting for a response, “seriously, how many cases do we have left in us?”
“i do think about that a lot.”aaron admitted, brushing a stray piece of hair out of y/n’s face, “i think about how we could just be some name in a history book, with nobody knowing about who we actually are.”
“i don't want that.”y/n whispered, propping her chin on her hand, “i want to be remembered, like i get not all of us can leave a souvenir like rossi, but i don’t want to be another agent in the history books, only being known for reading lips and transcribing what people are saying.”
“its really hard to see that we’re going to be the lucky ones in this situation.”
it was silent between the two for awhile, with aaron trying to decide what to say, and y/n waiting for his response. he knew that she was right, not everyone could leave something behind like rossi did with his books, but also knew that the two of them wouldn’t just be some names on a plaque hanging in the hallways.
“we will leave a legacy behind.”aaron finally spoke up, his eyes matching e/c ones, “and a damn good one too.”
“we won't just be known as two agents who went out and solved cases. hell, even if we are, its the legacy we leave behind outside of the bureau with the victims families and the amount of lives we change.”he explained, with y/n grasping onto what he was saying, “you might not see it, but the rest of the team does. the way you interact with the families, and help them through the tragedies they have gone through.”
“and even if we don’t, ill love you til all that we are,”aaron started, before a small smile spread across y/n’s face.
“is background music.”she finished for him, knowing it was one of their favorite songs, one they deemed as ‘their song’ due to the meaning of it.
“until we’re background music.”

How to Shut Up Yui Haters Masterpost
(aka: One stop shop compilation of essays for Yui lovers) Feel free to link for all your in defense of Yui needs! Will be updated accordingly. (Click here to check if it’s the most recent version.)
“I think Yui's actions are dumb/stupid”: -“Specifically, because she is friendly with the dl boys”: ⭐ -“Specifically, because she falls for the dl boys' pranks too easily”:  ⭐ TLDR: Please try and understand why Yui acts the way she does, same as I presume you would for the dl boys.
“I think Yui is rude”: ⭐ ⭐ (2nd one not mine, linked with permission) TLDR: The guys are the ones being rude (to put it lightly), and Yui being sassy and telling them off is completely reasonable and deserved given their treatment of her.
“I don't like you interpreting Yui as lesbian/wlw”: -“Specifically, I don't like you interpreting that one Christa scene as gay”: ⭐ ⭐ TLDR: If you can write/interpret Yui as lesbian, then do it. If you can’t, then STFU!!
“Yui deserves the abuse/the abuse is her fault”: ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ TLDR: No she doesn't. No it isn’t. Also that's literally victim blaming, so fuck you.
*Insert unnecessary comments about Yui's body here*: ⭐ TLDR: Literally this is caused by the c-slur. Don't listen to that asshole.
“Yui's kindness helps the dl boys change and they are better now”: ⭐ ⭐ TLDR: No, Yui is kind for herself as a form of resistance. Also no, the dl boys have not changed for the better in any significant way. This would only occur if they let Yui go free. And no again, that still doesn't earn them forgiveness.
“It is Yui's destiny to fulfill the Adam & Eve plan for the greater good and she cannot go against it”: ⭐ ⭐ TLDR: The whole plan is bull, and it's Karl's responsibility to clean up his own damn mess. Why does he get what he wants when he's the villain anyway? Also here is Yui herself saying that she never wanted to go along with it.: ⭐
“Seiji was an abusive father and Yui probably had a terrible childhood”: ⭐ ⭐ TLDR: There is no evidence to prove this, and way more the the contrary. Plus the entire plotline of Seiji turning on Yui makes no sense, is wildly inconsistent between routes, and stinks of the "Everyone is against you except your abusive boyfriend" trope. “Tell me more about your fake Seiji theory” (Gladly!):⭐

Tumblr media
When Spencer had gone all the way from Virginia to Arizona for a case that had yet to upset the rest of his team, he didn't actually expect another person to upset him as much as the authors of the crime themselves.
The other person was known as the genius of the team, another "version" of him, except that he was in Arizona, with a slightly different rank.
He didn't think badly of him at first, he appreciated the fact of having another person similar to him, which meant that he didn't have to explain the terms he'd use to someone else, he could talk without complications.
He’d usually have to pause in his lecture to explain some stuff, but he didn’t feel like he’d need to do it with him.
"Arizona's genius, y/n y/l/n. It's nice to meet you all. I heard there's another genius here. As much as I'd like to have a nice chat, killers are on the loose, so, eventually, at the end of the case."
The way he had talked was completely fascinating to him, even if he wanted to, he couldn't draw his eyes off him as he talked.
The first words had completely convinced them, and he really felt like he could have a correct interaction with him.
It wasn't everyday that he'd had the occasion to meet another mind similar to his.
This happened to be quite relieving considering the complicity of the case, and it would be much faster for everything to be answered as they'll be two.
"No, he's not that type of guy! Look at what he did, especially at the third victim!" He yelled.
"We have all reasons to think he could be like that, I didn't say it definitely is, but it could be." Spencer argued, pissed off by his words.
"The M.O you just described doesn't really fit, something is missing, and none of what you said makes it right."
"It's the closest thing we have, it's that or we completely start from scratch, as if it's "wrong" to you."
"I don't think it's only to me, and it's better to try to start again than continue with what we have and possibly launch into a wall because that wasn't right. Okay, that's going to take time, but might as well get it right."
"When I expected for the case to go smoothly, I didn't come all the way for this, since when are you so annoying?"
"Oh, now I'm annoying? I'm just doing my job, and you're the one acting offended. So," He paused, as he gathered papers before walking away. "If you excuse me, I have to catch the ones doing this, instead of wasting time. Come back to me when you're in a better mood to work correctly." Y/N said, as another coworker of his approached Spencer not long after he had left.
"Um...I doubt that'll make the situation better, but he acts like that, sometimes. It may seem that he's not going to work, but don't worry, it's mainly so he can...get himself back in the right head space." He explained. "Don't try...get pissed off at each other too often, none of our unit chiefs will be happy with that."
"He could have been less...like that."
"It's just y/l/n being himself, 'can't do much about it. Anyway, let's get back to work, and try to get better you two, at least till we wrap the case."
"Trouble's around." Derek chirped to JJ.
"This case is going to be...fun. Let's hope we at least get to have a distraction."
"Oh, don't worry JJ, we'll have one. They're not done fighting. Definitely not."
"Do you think they're gonna make up and become friends, or yell at each other until the end?" Emily asked.
"A mix of the two. They'll kinda hate each other, but not enough to resist having a conversation between geniuses." Garcia answered.
"True. It's not every day that the both of them get to talk with someone that understands their stuff." Derek pointed out.
"Let's hope that we'll get to see some animation in between work."

"Are you here to yell again or try to have a calm conversation?" Y/N asked, as soon as Spencer entered.
"I don't get why you're directly attacking before I get to say anything." Spencer protested.
"Just in case."
"Okay, do you have something against me or what? Because I can't work if you keep being angry all of the time."
"I'm not angry." He answered.
"Then I'm a clown if I can't even read your face. It's written on your forehead that you are, you're literally an open book." Spencer closed the door, having a slight feeling that the conversation would possibly get louder.
"I thought you weren't supposed to profile the people you work with, no? I'm not your coworker, but we're working on this case together, so don't profile me unless I ask, which will never happen."
"I don't get you."
"What is there even to understand? You're the one I don't get."
"It's you that I can't figure out. I just can't stand you right now."
"Unfortunately, I'm afraid you'll have to calm your nerves till we finish that case. Because I'm not wasting twenty minutes explaining what is there to "understand" about me." He spit back, glancing at Spencer.
"I can't keep talking with you if you act like that."
"I'm not a cute puppy in case you haven't figured that out. I'm not going to be nice just for you, especially when you point out that I'm not how you like to be talked."
"I didn't specify anything."
"Didn't you, doctor?" He focused on the last word, raising his eyebrows.
"Damn it." Spencer walked up to him in a snap, glancing at him for a split second before suddenly taking in his face in his hands as he roughly kissed him.
Not even one of them expected that it'd just take a single argument to let the pressure out.
They were just kissing each other, like that. Spencer was the one who started it, not even wondering if he'd return it or walk away, but turns out that y/n had been the one to take the lead after that, as he gripped his hair, slamming him against the wall.
Nothing really mattered in that moment, they didn't even think about the others possibly walking in, all they both needed to do was to let out of all the frustration contained since this morning.
It wasn't quite only anger, but also because they had both wanted each other, in their own way.
As much as Y/N was afraid to admit it, he did imagine it, slamming him against the wall, even if he wouldn't be strong or even courageous enough to do that.
Spencer did imagine gripping his jaw, especially after he walked out in fury, he was so upset about him that all he wanted was to kiss him to let him know what he felt.
He didn't want to admit it, but he hated it whenever someone raised his voice at him, he needed to do that to calm himself, in some way.
If they weren't in some police station, their shirts would have already been on the floor, the layers of clothes between them were more than infuriating as they tugged at the other's shirt.
And even when they stopped for a moment to breathe again, it didn't take much for their lips to link again after a short glance.
Spencer quickly flipped y/n the other way so he'd be the one against the wall, and to his surprise, his face quickly gained another tint.
He caged him in with one arm against the wall, gripping his chin with the other, as y/n tugged at his hair again, not knowing where else to put them.
Things went fast so quickly, they didn't even think about what they'd do, they just went with the flow.
What they forgot to think and pay attention about, was that they weren't alone in the place.
Literally all of the people working at the station were there, and could possibly start to look for them.
They really didn't care about it, none of them broke the kiss to point it out, it was just four walls, them, and their mixed feelings.
"I still can't stand you." Spencer said in between when they briefly broke the kiss.
"Me neither." He blurted out.
As one of them probably guessed at some point, their inattention cost them when they didn't even hear the lock of the door over their breaths.
"Hey, we found…" JJ walked in, stopping in the middle of the sentence.
The door kept itself open, as the noise of the outside drew in, causing them to break away as both of their eyes were wide open.
Spencer's hair was a mess, strands going everywhere, which would need to be at least fixed with his hand for him to be presentable.
Only the back of y/n's hair was messed up as he was against the wall most of the time.
Both of their shirts had a few buttons out, although, y/n's was the closest to being on the floor if someone hadn't come.
By the time they had begun slowly walking away from the other, she had definitely just seen them making out.
"...something." She ended the sentence, not quite knowing what to say after witnessing the event.
"Oh, uh...we'll uh...meet you in just a sec." Spencer said.
"Right. Okay." JJ responded, closing the door in a hurry.
"I hate to say this to you, but I think we're screwed." Y/N pointed out once she was gone.
"They'll definitely be able to tell from the look on her face and ours when we'll get out."
"Yeah, we should have…done it elsewhere."
"It's a bit late for that."
"You're the one who started, you should have at least chosen another place genius."
"I have to admit it but, true."
"They'll definitely figure out you're the one who started, you basically entered after me."
"I hate you."
"No, you don't. You just don't like me." He corrected Spencer, as he opened the door to walk out, walking out of the room.
It didn't take much for some of their coworkers's eyes to lay on them as they entered their vision.
Spencer discreetly approached y/n after Hotch began talking, making sure the attention was elsewhere.
"I'm going to show you how much I 'just don't like you' when we're out of here, you're gonna see."
"Deal."
