"So I may have figured out a solution to keeping Ayla safe." It had been about a day since the incident happened, and after getting Ayla examined, made sure she was good, and meeting her Aunt Deanna(she worked at the hospital Dr. Womack worked at as a doctor), he brought her home and the staff had made sure she had someone keeping an eye on her just to ensure that nothing happened to her.

Right now it was only him and Skye in the room and he went to another room where he brought a German Shepard into the room. "Meet Marshall, it's not a fully set name, as I figured I'd go for something that Ayla may like, and figured naming him after the dog from 'Paw Patrol' would be good." Rick said, "Also, while I don't intend to let her be aware of this at the moment, I do think I should make you aware." He said, looking to Marshall, "You can show her."

"Greetings, Miss." The dog said in a firm male voice into Skye's head.

"He's a meta-pet, and I also figured he'd be good with the following. Marshall, Puppet Mode." Rick said as the dog nodded and a second person seemed to appear with the appearance of a man who looked like he came out of an action movie where the main character was the hired hand for a rich person but also had spent years prior being a threat to anyone who went against him. "While he'll still be able to control his dog form, he can also act in his human form, and this can let us be able to have Ayla be able to constantly have someone with her, without us needing to constantly be with her 24/7." Not that he expected Skye to just allow Ayla to be on her own, he was almost expecting her to get a kiddie leash for her and never allow her out of 20 feet of her again. "There will be other things, but I figured I'd start with this before anything else." Rick told Skye.

just watched challengers at the cinema w my little sister. it was so intense wtf

#i was like grabbing onto my scalp just yanking my hair in the last 5 mins and at the end i yelled (quietly) LOVE WINS!#bc there were only 4 other ppl in the cinema lol #its so fucking stupid on the surface like ok complicated polyamory and also insane obsession with a sport bc that is what makes these people #who they are; as in the sport IS their identity as individuals that's what fills the void that lies underneath skin and bone etc.#blah blah basic shit about messy relationships with the self and romantically with others #but it's also so profound because despite the many obstacles and personality differences. they all love one another and the sport so much.#it's so weird it's twisted in a sense because it's like they only have one another and then obviously tennis (bc tennis is the bridge)#it's very.. codependent #i can't believe my little sister understood like not in a condescending way i cant believe she got it but in a “oh i didnt know you watched #stuff with this much emotion and that you cared enough to critique media“ since she doesn't usually tell me about what shes watching #and when she does she tells me about sitcoms ..#so yeah it was nice that we watched it together but also kind of weird bc #well surface level: the make out scenes were just us giggling awkwardly #and on a deeper level when i was watching it. i couldn't help but think about how #patrick at some point turned into an observer; he stopped being a part of the art tashi patrick trio (and tennis!) and turned #into a spectator #despite very much still being a fellow player #and then tashi became a spectator of the sport despite very much being absorbed in it all and in love with art (?)#i dont know what else to call it but her need to control him came from a place of some kind of care ... albeit manipulative and self serving #so Patrick and tashi are almost parallel lines if that makes sense #theyre kicked out of “the club” whatever the club may be (for Patrick he's no longer in the trio) and for Tashi once the trio is long gone #she's no longer a competitor bc of her injury #and then art is just in the middle of it all #and he'd always followed Patrick's lead in the past and then he started thinking for himself until he became so taken by Tashi #and then he just became her little follower #he just wants to be loved and told what to do because he doesn't know how else to live. im projecting? im projecting. anyway!#the ending. god. the ending sums up their whole past dynamic:#patrick is petty. art is irritated. tashi doesn't get their little dynamic. patrick loves art. art is forgiving. tashi loves the sport #(and maybe she loves them both in her own fucked up control freak way)#z.post

||. one whole "today years old" post!ragnarok and hela's reveal. Except, even then, according to the movie, not really because Thor is still in heavy denial about all of it where Odin is concerned. I've spoken a bit (here) about how Thor adores his family; he idolizes them and views them through blinding rose-colored glasses, (especially when they're deceased) and that is especially true of his circumstances.

So, very often times when the truth clashes with the rose-colored view of them (namely: his father), Thor does one of two things: find a way to justify the words or action with the surrounding context of the time to make it make sense (e.g., well he scolded me harshly because i was talking back), or avoid it altogether. (this is his go-to. no talking about it; thor would rather not right now, so he does not.)

Key example being: he would rather focus on how his father changed his ways, and the Odin that he knew and grew up with was a man who had turned away from pursuing war for war's sake, and was instead one who valued peace and life. He would rather focus on that aspect of Odin, and take in the broader picture of Odin's life. REGARDLESS of the fact that what Thor is deeply, personally affected - not with the realization that Odin changed his ways once upon a time - but by the fact that he lied to him, manipulated him, and controlled and shaped every aspect of his being, for Thor's whole life, JUST to avoid another Hela. Someone who Thor is not, could not be farther from, and never knew about, because Odin (apparently) kept the matter of his true first-born a closely-guarded secret and seemingly would have continued to were it not for Odin's death, Hela's escape, and Ragnarok all coinciding at the same moment in time. And this, all because Thor rationalizes it as "well, I wouldn't want to be remembered and judged based on the person that I used to be. I should extend that same kindness to my father, because he too, changed." (x10 because now Odin is dead. And it's in poor-taste to speak ill of a dead man.)

The problem namely being: Thor only talks about things when Thor decides it's time to talk about things ; when he is ready. ...but as this is a topic that ripple effects down to Thor's core, good luck getting him to open up about it, even just with himself.

I've been thinking about what place fairies would have in Null's Stardew Valley AU, and I imagine them being as varied in shape, size, and temperament as they are in real life folklore. Also picturing them having a unanimous agreement on one thing: staying neutral about any elemental conflicts if they aren't put in danger. The dwarf reacts to Null with a wary tolerance, since they know what he is and that he isn't inherently a threat, but keeping sharp because he's a fairy and some fairies are really sneaky and cruel.

Oddly enough I imagine shadow people actually reacting with increased aggression at the sight of him, because he's also got the power of darkness in his hands yet he defies what they believe in, as well as not being on their side and willingly living among humans. Null frequently gets attacked by shadow brutes at his farm at night so he's no stranger to throwing down on the spot.

#Stardew Valley AU #OC: Null Number #we don't get much lore about the shadow people but what we do know suggests that their hatred of humans run deep enough to resort to cruelt #so seeing not only a fairy but a fairy that's been absolutely BRUTALIZED by humans in life living among them so easily?#that's gotta be seen as a betrayal of sorts and a low blow #some may even think he's willingly forsaken his roots to adapt and escape the human cruelty #but no he genuinely does still have a hatred for humans in a way after all this time he's just good at not letting it consume him #so he can actually make friends and find love without his biases making him turn his nose up at the sight of a human #he's willing to give people chances since Grandpa was so kind to him when he was young #he also knows that balance between man and nature can't happen if he continues that cycle of unbalance and conflict

I have a lot of mixed feelings about MatPat.

On the one hand, he definitely has a streak of bigotry. The pyro episode really comes to mind on that one, and his refusal to they/them Kris was also not cool, and there have been a lot of other examples here and there.

But he has been getting better. One of his Livestream hosts uses they/them from what I can tell, and I haven't heard any word that he's misgendered them anywhere.

But also, his theories have just been getting lower and lower quality as his channels kinda turned into something one step below a content farm. His Digital Circus theory, for example, he came up with ON GTLive and then just cleaned it up for the episode.

But he was also hosting all four channels. Each channel will have its own host now.

He made a lot of mistakes, but so does everyone.

Am I defending him? I dont know. Do I forgive him? No. Do I honestly care? ...I don't know.

I'm glad he's stepping away. But I'm also gonna miss him.

Like he said in the goodbye video, he was a lot of peoples childhoods. Mine was one of them. He's definitely not the best person nor was he the best influence, but he did help me realize that being a nerd and being passionate are good things. And his passion helped me want to create.

I'm glad he's leaving, but it also feels like my childhood is going with him. One last step towards that all-encompassing 21 in a few months from now.

I'll miss you, Mat. I hope you can continue to grow as a person and support others more in the future. Teach your son what the world failed to teach you when you were younger.

Guess who almost fainted at a party tonight and spent the rest of it sitting on the floor with bowls of snacks

TW Illness and cancer warning

#I haven't been doing well the last week.#So uhh after a nice week of having fun with my family I got a job that I don't know if I'm fit to handle #So yeah that was eating up all my free time for the past few weeks and I was just stressed and had no more free time for art #Also I felt very unsafe at the job and I was never given any safety warning if something happened #I just felt too guilty to say anything but I did and I feel bad because that place there is short staffed and the people there where nice #But still. I just don't feel safe and I don't think I can handle it #And while that has been happening uhh my biological texted me that he has cancer #I feel comfortable enough to say that I hate him but I can't help but feel awful and terrible about it #I don't know I sort of feel guilty for feeling that way after what she did to me and my brothers and my mom #I keep him at arms length but I don't know #I'm scared of him because of what he did to one of my brothers that made him cut content with my dad #And that said brother is also going through a lot medical wise #Just been not in the best place it may get better soon. I'm trying my best to get something animated #But yeah my dad has only said he had cancer but not a certain type #He's a piece of shit but I don't think he will lie about that and he said we shouldn't get it in the future #He also hasn't mentioned what stage of cancer he has or anything he mentioned something about healing #But he also hasn't said he doesn't know how long he'll feel well for #I just don't know how o feel anymore

so I've established that an Anders rivalmance while still being a decent person is very difficult. what about Fenris? I'm considering replaying Oliver when I'm done with Ari and maybe rivalling Fenris this time. getting pro-mage rivalry points should be easy enough, but A Bitter Pill gives sooooo much friendship just for ..... not being a dick to him. so like. can it be done?

#the thing about Oliver is he only does fenrismance for the beginning of act 2 #getting his heart broken by Fenris is actually a Key Part of his character arc #i think it could be interestign to have him rival this time #....... then again may run into some of the same issues as rivalmancing anders as ari #because oliver is pro-templar in act one #last time i brought fenris everywhere act 1 and got his friendship to 100 before the deep roads even lol #also divided whether to do templar or warden carver #on the one hand carver becoming a templar is Also A Key Character Moment for Oliver #on the other hand p much any post da2 fic i write would have warden Carver just coz idk that's how my brain sees the worldstate #oliver's headspace is less. 'failed his family' than 'can't keep the people he loves by his side'#he feels like he's never enough #and fenris leaving and carver becoming a templar Feed Into that #and part of Oliver's arc is sort of coming to terms with the fact that neither of those were about him #nothing he could've done would have made them stay #anyway. don't be fooled by my liveblogging Ari playthrough.
