Summary: By now you've got a pretty good idea why you're friends with Tom, but sometimes, when it comes up, you wonder why he's friends with you. [GN reader ★ no pronouns ★ Hufflepuff house (but ngl it doesn't really come up u just gotta trust me)] Word count: 1.2k

“I’m dropping out,” you announce, dumping your bag on the table and falling emphatically into the seat adjacent to Tom’s.
Tom, for his part, does not look up. His quill doesn’t even hesitate as he writes in a smooth, unbroken script across his parchment. Instead, he says: “Your bag is on my book.”
You shove it unenthusiastically to the side to reveal the open textbook he’s been working from, and then fix him with a pointed look. Tom is set up in the same little spot in the library as always, his bag at his feet and at least ten other books neatly stacked off to the side of the table. He looks (as Tom always looks) like the poster boy of adhering to the uniform dress code.
“Aren’t you going to ask me what’s wrong?” you say, slightly put out.
“I would not bother,” he says simply, leaning forward and dipping his quill in a small inkwell in front of him. “I’ve come to accept the inevitability of you telling me all sorts of things I don’t care to hear about, whether I ask about them or not.”
He resumes writing.
You kick his chair leg lightly and his quill skips sharply down the page, leaving a jolted line about an inch long off where he’d been writing the word putrescence.
This finally makes him look up, fixing you with a supremely irritated glare that’s made his whole face go tense.
You lean your elbows on the table and smile at him.
Tom’s jaw works slightly, and he takes a long breath. “What’s wrong?” he asks sarcastically.
“Well,” you say as he puts down his quill and bends to pick up his bag. “In Herbology this morning when we were cracking Wiggentree nuts, Lucy Grollen had this horrible allergic reaction and her feet swelled up so much that her shoes burst.”
“And this affects you how?” Tom drawls, diligently rubbing a Spellfriends eraser across his parchment.
You give him a scandalised look. “She’s my friend, Tom.”
He gives you a very dry look and then flips the eraser over to the purple side. “I hardly think you’d be tempted to leave the school because your friend is allergic to nuts.”
“Well she’s also my greenhouse partner,” you say dramatically, throwing yourself back in your seat, “and because she had to go to the hospital wing I had to finish the rest of the assignment alone, and obviously by the end of class I didn’t have all our nuts cracked so Beery made me stay late to finish them. And that meant that I missed the sign up for the fieldtrip to the Menagerie of Mirabilia.”
Tom throws down the eraser and exhales in frustration. The ink remains unmoved. “You have been talking about that fieldtrip for six weeks,” he says in a clipped tone, pulling his wand from his bag. “And I have been telling you for six weeks that it was going to fill up quickly. Evanesco.”
The eraser shavings on his parchment vanish and leave both of you staring at the tenacious line of ink—which if anything, now just looks a little smudged.
His little comment about the whole six weeks thing has not left you feeling very sympathetic for him. “Wow. You have got to tell me what kind of ink you buy,” you say with a smirk as Tom tosses his wand onto the desk in frustration.
“I wouldn’t recommend it,” he says hotly, folding his arms and finally looking at you properly as he leans back in his chair. “Well?”
“Well what?”
“What happened with the fieldtrip?” he prompts irritably.
“Oh – so as I’m sure you remember, I promised Madeline I’d go with her on the fieldtrip because she’s obsessed with magizoology at the moment, so then I had to tell her I wasn’t going, and she was so upset, and I couldn't stop thinking about it because I felt so bad. So then I was really distracted in Transfiguration and of course Dumbledore notices and asks me to recite the whole definition of Amandation’s Command in front of everybody.” You sigh loudly. “So I can’t do it because I hadn't been paying attention, but then he points to the board and the definition is written right there and I just hadn’t noticed, and everyone laughed at me.”
You cross your arms too, feeling sorry for yourself. “The only solution is to drop out,” you reiterate moodily.
“This is one of your jokes,” says Tom delicately.
You narrow your eyes at him. “Yes well spotted.”
“You’ve ruined my assignment,” he says, nodding at it.
“You ruined your own assignment. With your callousness.”
Rather surprisingly, Tom snorts a laugh. “I would loathe to be my friend, to hear you describe it,” he says with suspicious ease as he extracts a new roll of parchment from his bag. “It begs the question as to why you persevere.”
“Very occasionally, you do something really nice,” you say, watching him with suspicion. Tom’s irritability rarely fades this quickly. “I just kind of zone out all the bits in-between where you’re weird and sarcastic.”
“Weird and sarcastic?” Tom repeats, lips curling. “Have you been listening to yourself since you sat down?”
“My life is ruined, and you’re worried about an assignment.”
“Your life is not ruined,” he says monotonously as he begins diligently copying over his work.
“I’m upset about this and all you care about is telling me that it’s not a big deal!”
Tom sighs curtly and looks up at you, leaning forward a bit and resting his forearms on the desk. “Your life is not ruined. Lucy Groggen is going to be fine, Wiggentree nut allergies are fairly common and the reaction doesn’t last more than an hour, the worst she’ll have to deal with is buying a new pair of shoes. Beery should never have made you complete a two-person task by yourself and it’s ridiculous that he kept you late because of his own poor class management. If Dumbledore was half the teacher that he claims to be, he might have noticed that you were upset about something and think to ask you about it, but his mistake is made all the more egregious given that he chose to single you out in front of the whole class with what sounds like a very silly little trick. And I wouldn’t worry about upsetting Madeline if I were you, because I signed you up for the fieldtrip.”
He resumes writing without another word. You stare at him, dumbfounded. A full ten seconds passes before you can rouse yourself to speak again.
“You signed me up for the fieldtrip?
Tom’s eyes remain level on his work—he’s writing at lightning speed like he’s trying to make up for the lost time. “You have been talking about it for six weeks. It seemed odd that you failed to show up.”
You look at your bag still lying dejectedly on the table in front of you and attempt to process the glowy, warm feeling spreading up through your chest. “Thanks,” you say blandly.
He just looks up at you with a glint in his eyes about halfway between wry and cynical.
“I feel bad about your assignment,” you announce.
Tom slowly smiles, this time very wryly indeed. “You have certainly changed your tune.”
You grab your bag and pull out your water bottle, placing it emphatically on the desk beside him.
Tom’s dark eyes flick from it to you, and he lifts a brow. “Is this supposed to mean something to me?”
“You have to wet a Spellfriends for it to work,” you mumble, folding your arms and resting forward on the desk.
He stares at you in a sort of frozen state of disbelief. “You mean you let me suffer through all of that for absolutely no reason?” he demands in half-subdued outrage.
“There was a reason!” you protest, smiling at him again. “It was funny.”
He blinks once, and then snatches the drink bottle off the desk, shaking his head. “You are extremely irritating,” he says icily, twisting the bottle open.
“Huh, sounds like a nightmare being my friend to hear you describe it,” you parrot back at him with a grin. “One wonders why you persevere, Tom.”
Tom pauses, and instead of the scathing look of irritation or perhaps a biting remark back, he just looks at you with an unplaceable expression like you’ve caught him off guard.
“What?” you frown, sitting up a little in concern.
Tom blinks slightly and then holds out his hand. “Pass me the Spellfriends,” he says colourlessly.
You arch a brow right back at him, and retrieve the eraser from where it’s been lying discarded for the last few minutes in front of you. “If you were wondering what I meant by the weird part in weird and sarcastic…” you say to him pointedly, placing it in his hand.
Tom silently erases the offending ink stain with a taut jaw and an irascible look darkening his eyes.
“Hey,” you say.
He ignores you entirely, sweeping the fresh shavings off his parchment and setting the eraser aside.
“Hey,” you repeat, reaching out and taking his arm.
Tom’s gaze immediately flashes to you and he goes entirely still.
“Thank you,” you tell him sincerely. “For the field trip.”
He does not immediately reply. A second later his lips part like he’s going to say something, but they close like he thinks better of it. He blinks, and then pulls his arm from yours to reach for another book. “Are you intending on actually doing work this evening, or was this visit’s entire premise just to disrupt me?”
You roll your eyes, and reach for your bag again with a smile.

wow ok read the recent request and I gotta say that was pretty heavy. Can we have a similar request but with a light angst with the remaining characters ??? I like the previous request
Hi, of course! :)) I've had really little time lately but I hope you like it anyway. I would say that all three contain rather mild angst compared to the previous ones. So I hope you enjoy it more. 💚

Regretting their actions

Pairing: Kuroo x, Ushijima x, Sakusa x reader
Warning: angst to fluff
Part 1 | Part 2 (End)
Tumblr media
Kuroo finally made it. He has a job he enjoys. A job that also pays well financially and provides stability.
However, this job also involves some overtime and company trips.
In the beginning, he tried to keep to the working hours as much as possible. After all, he didn’t want to neglect you. However, the overtime increased year by year.
You often tried to gently point out to him that he shouldn’t overwork himself, but most of the time, your remarks were met with anger and ended in an argument.
At some point, you stopped and tried to suppress his increasingly frequent absences. Even if it hurt you.
Sometimes you lie in bed, looking at the empty space next to you, before the screen of your phone lights up and the usual message from Kuroo appears. “Sorry, kitten, but I can’t make it home today. But I’ll be there tomorrow at the end of the day.”
A message that raises so many doubts in you. What if he’s not at work at all and is seeing another woman? You’ve hardly had any time together in the last few months. Just a good morning kiss before work... that was all.
Does he no longer loves you? Does he possibly have a girlfriend and is leading a double life? No, Kuroo wouldn’t do that.
You’ve already reminded Kuroo three times this week that it’s your niece’s birthday today and that she’s looking forward to finally seeing him again. Because your niece loves Kuroo. Your boyfriend kept telling you before work that he had the date in his calendar and that he would definitely be home in time for the two of you to go to your niece’s together. You believed him. After all, the date was important to you. But you soon realize that this was just another lie. An empty promise.
Because when you look at your watch, it’s ten minutes before departure... and Kuroo still hasn’t arrived. He didn’t even reply to your “I’m looking forward to this afternoon.” You wait another four minutes, but nothing happens. In the end, you take the train to your niece’s house. Alone, without Kuroo. Because he doesn’t answer your messages or your calls.
Your little niece is so sad when she opens the door and looks up at you, realizing that you have come alone. It’s not that she doesn’t like you, but her dear uncle Kuroo always does so much nonsense with her. What did she once said? The aunts and grannies are there to go shopping and with the uncles and grandpas you have fun. Not exactly nice, but whatever.
She looks at you with sad eyes. “Isn’t uncle Kuroo coming? Doesn’t uncle Kuroo like me anymore?” she asks tearfully as you try to calm her down somehow. It takes a long time for her to stop crying, and that on her birthday. And as if that wasn’t enough, you also get asked by your brother and your parents if everything is all right with you and your boyfriend. Whether you are still together at all. Because even at the last events, you were always there alone. When they passed by your home, only you were ever present.
“No, no, everything’s fine. Tetsu’s just really busy today,” you reply with a forced smile, even though you don’t know where you stand as a couple right now. Can you even call what the two of you have a relationship?
As you head home in the evening, the apartment is still empty, just as expected. You sigh as you put your bag down and go into the bathroom to get ready for bed. The apartment seems so bitter as you lie down under the cold sheets, but you don’t care. You don’t even look at your phone anymore, because you know that Kuroo hasn’t texted you anyway. Nor do you mind that the bed is empty. Because that has also become a habit by now. Just then, you realize that tears are suddenly running down your cheeks. Yet you don’t even bother to wipe them away because no one will see them anyway.
Kuroo curses as he looks at his watch. His day had been stressful. So stressful that he didn’t even have time to look at his phone or check the time. Only when it got darker outside did he realize that he had once again worked too long.
“Shit,” he curses again as he stands in front of the entrance door. Should he go back to get flowers for you? After all, he promised you he wouldn’t work so late. No, never mind. Staying away any longer will only upset you more.
“Hey kitten, I’m sorry I was gone so long again. I know I said that-” but when Kuroo enters the living room, the light is off. You’re not in the kitchen either. Have you gone to bed already? He walks quietly towards the bedroom, but his hand stops on the door handle when he hears you sniffle.
“Hey, baby, what’s wrong?” he asks, immediately moving past the bed to your side to kneel in front of it. Only now do you realize that Kuroo has returned home. You look at him almost empty-eyed. “Nothing...” you reply and want to turn away from him, but his hand holds onto your shoulder.
“Don’t say nothing when you’re obviously crying. Is it because I’m here so late again? I’m really sorry... I’ve completely lost track of time. I’m trying-”
“I suppose you’ve forgotten my niece’s birthday? She cried bitterly today... and not only that. I was asked today if we’re still together because you’ve never been to celebrations lately. And honestly? I don’t even know myself...” You say in frustration and watch Kuroo’s eyes suddenly widen.
Today was your niece’s birthday... You had told him several times during the week and yet he had forgotten. Kuroo doesn’t even know how to answer you. There is no answer that can please you. Because Kuroo has completely fucked up. He opens his mouth to say something, then closes it again.
“Maybe we should really break-”
“No, no don’t say that. I know I fucked up. I know I promised you I’d work less overtime and be there for you more often. I know I didn’t stick to any of that. But please. I can change.” His answer interrupts yours, his voice soft and yet so panicked as he looks at you pleadingly. But you can’t help but laugh in frustration. “I’ve already asked my brother... I can stay with him for a while.”
You see the fear in his face as he tries to struggle for words. His shoulders begin to shake before he opens his mouth. Kuroo has no arguments to defend himself. In the end, he just failed. Made you sad. Neglected you. It had to get that far before he finally understood that. But when he looks at your sad face, he knows that he has no right to stop you.
“Yeah... if that’s what you want... I don’t want to stop you... make you any more miserable.” He replies dejectedly before squeezing your shoulder a little tighter to stand up to leave you alone in the bedroom. To give you the tranquility that you would prefer over his presence. But his legs won’t let him go any further as he stops in front of the door, just a step away from the hallway.
Instead of leaving the room, he turns in your direction, switches on the big light and goes back to your bedside. “No, I can’t do that. I know I don’t have the right, but I just can’t let you go. I have neglected you. I have neglected us. And although you reminded me several times, I forgot your niece’s birthday. I don’t even want to imagine how sad she was that I wasn’t there, or how sad you must have been that I couldn’t keep my promise again. I am sorry that I have once again failed as a boyfriend. I know I probably look like the biggest asshole and my words sound like lies to you. But please... I love you and I mean it when I say I’m sorry. I enjoy my job, even if it is stressful. But I’ve probably lost sight of the most important thing, and that’s you. Please... please, if there’s still a little bit of hope, tell me how to make it right.” Kuroo says, looking you in the eye with determination, even though he is struggling to keep his composure.
You sit up in bed and look down at him, still kneeling in front of you. You love him, but what’s the point if he can’t keep his promises anyway? Still, when he looks at you like that… with these sad eyes… as if he’s about to break apart… “I’m staying with my brother for a week from tomorrow... I need a clear head. So use this week to think about how you can set things right. And maybe... maybe there will still be a future for us.” You answer him more coldly than you actually wanted to and look over at the empty side of the bed. “And now go to bed... there’s no point sleeping on the sofa in the living room. It’ll only make your back ache.” you add, before crawling back under the covers and closing your eyes. Not waiting to see if Kuroo actually lies down next to you or not.
The week you spend with your brother is like a wake-up call for Kuroo. A reminder that he needs to change something.
He writes to you every day before he leaves for work. A simple “Good morning, I hope you have a good start to the day” and in the evening he always writes to you when he’s on his way home.
Nevertheless, overall he leaves you in peace. Just like you wanted.
After the week you spent with your brother, you now stand in front of the entrance to your own home and take a deep breath. Wondering if Kuroo is home yet.
He should actually be at home. After all, his working hours are over. Did he keep his promise? You open the door and step inside. The apartment looks exactly the same as it did when you left it a week ago. Tidy, clean. Almost as if no one lived here. And as you might expect, Kuroo’s shoes are also missing. So nothing has changed after all. Standing in the hallway, you laugh in frustration and shake your head as you suddenly hear a key in the door lock and Kuroo enters.
A little surprised to see you, his eyes widen. “H-Hey...” he says almost shyly as he stands in front of you. Kuroo has a bouquet of flowers in his hand and a bag of groceries in the other. “I thought... maybe we could cook together and then... talk afterwards. That’s why I went grocery shopping after work, but I guess most people do it after work. It was really crowded...” he clicks his tongue and tilts his head to the side with a somewhat strained smile.
So he did finish work on time? “And the flowers? Are they there for cooking too?” you ask, unconsciously breaking the tense atmosphere between you. Kuroo just rolls his eyes and you see the tips of his ears turn red as he hands you the bouquet. “Of course not. They’re for you... for the best woman in the world.” His last words are quiet, but you hear them well.
Kuroo and you cook together, even if it’s a bit strange at first.
You both don’t quite know what to say or how to behave.
But while you wait for your food to be ready, Kuroo speaks up, pushes a chair back and asks you to take a seat at the dining table before sitting opposite you and taking your hands in his.
He tells you that he has only worked one hour of overtime this week. That he has applied for an assistant so that he can hand over some of his work and therefore work less overtime.
He tells you about all this in such an excited tone, as if you’ve just had your first date and he’s asking you out. Kuroo seems to be making a real effort...
“You know, there are even therapists who deal with people who work too much and-” says Kuroo, but you interrupt him directly. “Tetsurou... I’m not asking you to go to a therapist. If what you’ve said is true, then... that’s a good start.” His posture relaxes abruptly at your statement before he grips your hands tighter again and rests his head on them, sighing with relief. He had fully expected you to draw a line today after all the lonely nights he had given you. After all the empty promises. And here you both are, sitting together, and he can’t believe how good-natured you are. “That means... you’ll give me another chance?” he asks, but doesn’t lift his head from your hands.
“One last one... so don’t mess it up Tetsurou.” you reply much more gently this time.
Tumblr media
You’ve been together with Ushijima for a long time. You know his personality, that he tends to be quiet, sometimes blunt, and doesn’t talk much. Nevertheless, his lack of words sometimes makes you uneasy.
Something that Ushijima often can’t understand, because after all, that’s how you met. It usually ends with you just nodding off at some point and saying that you must have been imagining things and you just pretend that nothing happened.
But lately he’s been so quiet again. Even more distant than before.
Whenever he comes home from training, he goes straight to the kitchen to make himself a protein shake. Then straight to the bathroom to put his sports clothes in the washing machine and then gets ready for bed. Somewhere in between, he greets you with an almost indifferent “hello”.
You know that Ushijima is a little different, that his communication sometimes falls short. But his current behavior is unsettling even for you.
Has he perhaps met someone new? Does he no longer love you?
No... you don’t want to have thoughts like that. And yet you have them, and yet they don’t stop you from asking Ushijima this one question when he’s about to go to bed.
“Be honest Toshi... do you have another person you see next to me? Well... I don’t mean friends, but... a potential love interest?” The question slips out a little more reproachfully than you would have liked.
Ushijima looks at you with wide eyes as he puts on a T-shirt to go to bed. He can’t believe you actually asked him that. He has enough stress at the moment with the upcoming championship games. Now you’re just throwing in your insecurity. He doesn’t need that right now. “Do you really think I have the time or energy to deal with another relationship? This one is stressful enough at times,” he says almost coldly.
Wow... you think. It feels like he’s hitting a volleyball right against your chest. It hurts. “So you see me as a burden?” you try to say in a calm voice, but it’s already shaking. Ushijima just shakes his head in annoyance before climbing into bed next to you.
“When you ask questions like that, yes. Where do you come up with such nonsense? Do you have so little self-esteem?” says Ushijima before switching off the light on the bedside cabinet and turning towards you. “Let’s go to sleep now. I have to get up in the morning. And stop thinking such nonsense.” He says, as if he hadn’t hurt your feelings with his words earlier, before leaning in to kiss you goodnight, but you just turn around and avoid him. “Good night...” you mumble coolly, but Ushijima doesn’t think much of it.
Only after several days does he realize that something is different. You hardly talk to him, not at all, in fact. You no longer cook for him either. Maybe not in general? You’re often out until late in the evening and only come to bed when Ushijima is already asleep. But when he asks you what’s wrong, you just answer with a strange smile and say “nothing”. Ushijima doesn’t understand a thing.
It’s only when he’s on the phone with Tendou and the two of them are talking about all sorts of things, about how Ushijima is very stressed right now from training and the upcoming championships, that he mentions in passing that you’re behaving strangely. Tendou has known Ushijima for a long time. So he can guess that Ushijima has once again misunderstood something or said things that came across wrongly. When Ushijima tells him about the conversation with you a few days ago, Tendou sighs loudly into the phone. “Wakatoshi, that’s the stupidest thing you could have said to her. Does your better half know that you’re under a lot of stress at the moment?”
“Of course not. After all, it’s not something she can change. So she doesn’t have to worry about it.” As soon as Ushijima has spoken his sentence, he hears the sigh on the other side of the line again. “Wakatoshi, that’s not how a relationship works. How long have you been together now? Almost six years... She’s just worried about you. And if she then asks you whether there might be another woman in your life, ‘Don’t ask such stupid questions, why do you have so little self-esteem’ is not exactly the best answer.” Tendou imitates Ushijima.
He is surprised that he still has a girlfriend at all with this manner. Maybe he needs to fly to Japan more often after all… To give Ushijima a good slap on the back of the blunt man’s head.
“I just wanted to tell her that she’s a great woman and I can’t understand how she can have such thoughts when she’s perfect,” Ushijima replies as if it were the most natural thing in the world. Yet Tendou has to spend half an hour talking to Ushijima about how wrong his behavior was before he finally realizes it himself. So he decides to go home after training and wait for you, no matter how long it takes.
Sighing, you stand in front of the front door. On the one hand, you hope that Ushijima is already asleep, but on the other, you don’t want to continue with the silent treatment. You shake your head and open the door, only to see Ushijima sitting in the living room, his hands clasped together as he rests his arms on his thighs.
“Wakatoshi?” You ask, a little irritated, as you notice him staring into space. You can’t interpret his gaze. “Can you please sit down? We need to talk.” He says in a firm voice that makes your heart beat uncomfortably faster. You know you haven’t done anything wrong, and yet it feels like you have. Nevertheless, you nod, sit down next to him and look in his direction. He mirrors your movement. Only he doesn’t look at you with concern, but neutrally as always.
“I...” he begins, but then his voice drops. He doesn’t quite know how to start. After all, that’s never been his strength. “What is it, Wakatoshi?” you ask almost impatiently. After all, if he wants to end the relationship, he should keep it short. That will hurt, but maybe it’s better that way.
“I have hurt you. Seemingly very deeply. I’m sorry about that. It’s not that I don’t love you. I do and I thought you knew that too. Maybe I didn’t express myself properly, no actually, I didn’t express myself properly. But I can’t understand why you think that I might have another woman for whom I have feelings. You are a wonderful woman. Strong, independent, intelligent and attractive. For me, you are just right the way you are. I wouldn’t want anyone else by my side. I thought you would see yourself the way I see you.” Ushijima looks deep into your eyes with every word, his complete focus on you, before glancing briefly to the side. As if he’s thinking about what else he wants to say. Then he turns back to you and puts his hand on your thigh.
“We’re really under a lot of stress at the moment with our training. But that’s not something I want to burden you with in any way. After all, there’s nothing you can do to change the situation. And you shouldn’t have to worry about your husband. So… If I hurt you with my words, I’m sorry.” His words are sincere and the uneasy feeling you felt in your chest is suddenly gone. You should have known that Ushijima doesn’t love another woman. After all, it’s Ushijima.
“Let’s go out for dinner together at the weekend. Just the two of us. Let’s talk, spend time together. There hasn’t been enough of that lately.” Ushijima says, turning you more towards him by your thigh before wrapping his hands around your waist and placing you on his lap with ease.
“Wakatoshi!” you shriek briefly. His head is on your shoulder, his breath warm on your skin. “I’m really sorry that my words hurt you,” he whispers softly, starting to rub your back with his thumb as he holds you close to his chest. You are no longer angry with him. Has been no longer. Actually, you are glad that he told you how he felt.
“Going out for dinner sounds good,” you say softly and put your arms around him. As you answer, you feel him squeeze you a little tighter. As if he wants to tell you how grateful he is that you show understanding for him.

Actually, everything is going well between you and Sakusa. You both harmonize well, have similar interests and friends. The only thing that is a little difficult is the fact that you have to keep your relationship a secret.
At least Sakusa wants to keep the relationship private because he doesn’t want paparazzi following you around or some crazy fans sending you threatening letters or maybe even hurting you.
Sakusa is very cautious when it comes to you.
So apart from your closest friends, your family and his agency, nobody knows about your relationship.
However, it is becoming more difficult from year to year. Because there are already pictures that have been made public. Pictures in which you are seen with Sakusa. Sitting together in a coffee shop or going for a walk in the park. You’ve even been photographed while buying groceries.
There are also more and more rumors about you. “Who is the unknown woman who is always in the front row at every game?”, ”Is this young lady the girlfriend of athlete Kiyoomi Sakusa?”
Today Sakusa forgot his sports shoes. Since you work in the same building as the agency that has him under contract, you decide to simply take the shoes with you. After all, Sakusa told you today that he has an appointment at his agency before he goes to training.
With a slight nod, you greet the security people at the entrance to the third floor where the agency for athletes is located. You’ve already been here a few times, so it’s easy for you to find the right way. You stop in front of Sakusa’s manager’s office. In front of the office, you see that the door is slightly open and that people are talking. Sakusa was one of them. You briefly consider knocking and going in, but when you hear the next words, you stand still, petrified.
“Sakusa-san, are you sure you want to bring your relationship with Ms. Abe into the public eye? Ms. Abe is a popular tennis player. It would draw a lot of attention to both of you,” says Sakusa’s manager. Soon after, the sound of a woman giggling rings out, followed immediately by Sakusa’s voice.
“That’s fine... I think it’s for the best. But before we go through with this -” you don’t hear the last words, because you’ve already set the bag with the shoes down outside the office and rushed back to your own workplace.
You can’t concentrate all day long. You keep thinking about that conversation you had heard earlier. About Sakusa... wanting to make a relationship public? Only now do you realize what that actually means. Does this mean that Sakusa has been cheating on you the whole time and you were nothing but a pleasant distraction for him?
Frustrated, you stomp home after work, thinking about all the things you want to say. Everything you want to throw at Sakusa. When you arrive home, the apartment is still empty. Nothing unusual, because Sakusa wanted to go to his training after the meeting. So he’ll probably be gone for several more hours. Or did he just use that as an excuse to meet up with his new girlfriend?
You laugh bitterly, rolling your eyes at the thought of Sakusa’s name appearing in the magazines next to the name of that tennis player .... “Ridiculous...” you snort, and walk into the living room, where, ironically, the picture of Sakusa and you immediately comes into view. A photo of the two of you on vacation. You were in Norway. A country where Sakusa isn’t really well known. That’s why you could enjoy your vacation without paparazzi. In the photo you are in a small restaurant, outside on the terrace, both smiling intimately into the camera. Was it all just an act?
Furious, you grab the photo and throw it on the floor. The glass breaks and all the shards lie on the ground. “Damn...” you curse, annoyed at yourself for your outburst as you kneel down to pick up the pieces. But a familiar voice makes you flinch.
“My love, is everything all right?” you hear Sakusa, who must have come home a few seconds ago, dropping his bag in the hallway and looking in your direction with wide eyes. He left training on time today because he thought it was strange that his sports bag was in front of his manager’s door, but you weren’t there.
But now the time has come. The pain in your chest suddenly gets impossible to bear, your mouth quivers and your eyes are all warm as big tears run down your cheeks. A sight that really knocks Sakusa off his feet. Immediately he rushes in your direction, kneels down next to you and takes your hands in his to see if you have cut yourself. But your body seems to be unharmed.
“W-what’s wrong?” he asks again, concerned, before you pull your hands out of his grip and stare at him angrily. “When... when were you going to tell me you had another girl? And what are you doing here anyway? Shouldn’t you be at training or with your new lover?” you say angrily, but don’t raise your voice.
Sakusa tries to follow your words, even if he can’t understand them at first. But then he realizes… The bag in the hallway, your tears... you must have heard part of the conversation he had this afternoon. But you probably haven’t heard everything. The man with the raven-black curls closes his eyes before taking a deep breath and looking at you again, trying to reach for your hands.
“You’ve completely misunderstood something-” he is about to start, but you interrupt him directly. “Don’t say ‘it’s not what it looks like’. You can spare that phrase, Kiyoomi!” you say a little louder now, but Sakusa doesn’t back down and continues to try to talk to you calmly.
“Please Y/n... I want you to listen to me for a minute... just a minute... After that you can still be mad at me. Is that possible?” Sakusa grabs your hands this time, pulls you up with him and leads you to the sofa. “Sit down, please.” You’re actually reluctant, but you’ve been together for so long now... you can give him that one minute, can’t you? You grudgingly sit down, but don’t look at him.
“Lately, paparazzi are getting bolder and bolder... even the other day there were some in the supermarket who wanted to take pictures of us... I’m just worried that your face will eventually be in all the newspapers and platforms and you’ll no longer be able to live your life carefree, but will always have these people at your back, following you,” says Sakusa somewhat awkwardly. Almost as if he himself is unsure whether what he wants to tell you is plausible for you. But before he can continue, you interrupt him directly and give him an angry look.
“Oh, and that’s why you thought you’d find a new girlfriend who’s already a celebrity and just date her? Then you can go out without hiding? Is that it?” you’re struggling to keep your voice under control. Sakusa’s eyes widen and he shrinks back for a moment, his hands almost in a protective position in front of his chest as he shakes his head.
“Wait, no, it’s not like that. I don’t have another relationship. Well, okay wait. I thought it might be good if I publicly revealed a fake relationship with another celebrity. Of course, it’s not real and we’re not really a couple. But I thought it would take the pressure off you and you could-”
You can’t believe what Sakusa is saying right now. Is he really serious? If it’s true, why is he talking to his manager first and not to you? Doesn’t he care about your feelings? “Do you actually... don’t think at all? How do you think I would feel when I read the messages and your name is everywhere with the name of your fake girlfriend? Have you ever thought about the fact that this is extremely hurtful to me? I would rather be seen in public with you than see you with someone else ‘for my supposed freedom and privacy’. How would you feel if I introduced another man to the whole world as my boyfriend just to ‘protect’ you?” The words you say so loudly hit Sakusa, and he gets quiet. He doesn’t even know what to say anymore. Your question slaps him hard. How would he feel… The thought of seeing you with another man makes him angry, sad... and somehow helpless?
“I...” Sakusa begins, but immediately doesn’t know how to continue. “I’m sorry, that was probably stupid of me.” He then says, tilting his head downwards. Sighing, you stand up and shake your head once more before walking past Sakusa.
“You know, you never asked me, but I wouldn’t mind if people knew my face. It’s more important to me to do things with you without having to hide. You’re always the one who overdramatizes and worries unnecessarily... Whatever… I’m going to bed now. Good night.” You no longer wait for his answer. Instead, you go straight to the bathroom and get ready for bed.
Sakusa remains seated in the living room. He knows exactly that it wouldn’t be right to talk to you now, that you want to be left alone. Especially since he doesn’t know what he’s supposed to tell you. He just knows that his action was really stupid.
Sakusa hadn’t signed a contract with the tennis player and the two agencies yet, because he wanted to talk to you about it first, but at the moment his own idea to protect your privacy disgusts him. He really should have talked to you first about how you feel, whether you want to be in the public eye, instead of drawing any conclusions. Sakusa sighs, leans back against the sofa and closes her eyes. “Idiot...” he whispers quietly.
Two days pass and you are still disappointed by Sakusa’s behavior. Even though he probably only meant well. You haven’t really spoken much either. Just the usual “Good morning, have a nice day at work...”, “How was your day?” and all that sort of things.
Still at work, you just can’t concentrate and start massaging your temples when suddenly one of your colleagues shrieks and starts giggling. “Hey, isn’t that Sakusa Kiyoomi? What’s he doing here? His agency is upstairs, isn’t it?” she asks one of her colleagues, who quickly reaches for her make-up mirror and fixes her hair.
Now you too turn your head forward and see Sakusa walking in your direction with a bunch of white lilies. Everyone looks after him, puzzled, and you also stare at him with irritation as he stops in front of you. “Uhm... I wanted to bring these over to you because I have to go upstairs to talk to my manager about a photo shoot.”
The whispering of your colleagues gets louder and louder and you still look a little confused, but you take the bouquet and stand up. “Kiyoomi, what is this about?” you whisper to him, not quite knowing how to react. Sakusa grazes your arm, wanders up to your cheek and looks deep into your eyes. “You were right. I should never have had this stupid idea. I should have asked you. And even if I’m worried about you, I only want to see you by my side in any pictures on the internet. After all, you are the woman I love. I’m really sorry. Will you... accept my clumsy apology?” Sakusa gazes at you with such a puppy-dog look that you can’t help but put the bouquet on your table and jump into his arms.
Of course, Sakusa did not sign the contract with the tennis player.
At his next match, you’re in the front row as usual, and when Sakusa scores the final point to victory and his team cheers along with him, he immediately runs to you, pulling you over the barrier to hold you in his arms before setting you down and cupping your cheeks with his hands. Just a few seconds later, you feel his lips on yours, cameras pointing at you and taking photos. But you couldn’t care less. “You know, I’ve wanted to do this so many times before,” he says calmly, leaning his forehead against your own.
Although everyone knows your face now, Sakusa is always reserved in interviews when it comes to private questions.
He will not answer questions about you if they become too personal.
In the beginning, the paparazzi and reporters were really a nuisance, but everything calmed down over time and the two of you can go out and enjoy dates together without being followed, just like back then, before his career.

[2.3k] when your boyfriend achieves a podium at his home race, it’s only right that you give him the reward he deserves. even if you only have fifteen minutes to do so. (smut)
part two
.
He had barely stepped off the podium before you were dragging him into his driver’s room.
Silverstone was always an important race, regardless of the racer. It was a historic track and an iconic race to drive in. It was one of those races—alongside Monaco—that every driver dreamed of winning, of standing on the podium and looking down at the cheering crowds.
And for Lando Norris, it was also his home race.
After the struggles the car had been putting him through all season, seeing his smiling face as he climbed off the car behind the number two sign made your heart swell on Saturday after qualifying. Watching him run towards his team, cheering and celebrating and slapping him on the back.
For the first time in a long time, he felt hopeful this season.
Then Sunday came along and it had been full of nerves and butterflies and silent prayers that your boy would do well, that the team wouldn’t screw him over.
Truthfully, your faith wavered after the safety car pit stop that put Lando’s car on hards. You stood by his team and his parents, practically watching the release of the safety car between your fingers as you watched your boyfriend be squished between the Red Bull and the Mercedes, both on soft tyres.
And then the fucking unbelievable happened.
Your stomach flipped as you watched your boyfriend fend off the seven-time world champion. Your nails were digging into your palms as each corner came and went, and before you even realised it, the checkered flag was waving and Lando Norris crossed the line in P2.
P2 in his own home race when even McLaren themselves doubted they would be able to pull it off.
The roars of the crowd was surreal, the way they clapped and chanted as he walked out onto the podium. The way he lifted the trophy over his head, a massive grin split across his face. The way he hit the bottom of the champagne bottle off the podium, soaking himself and his fellow drivers until champagne was dripping off their bodies.
You don’t think you had ever been as attracted to your boyfriend as you were in that moment, in that snapshot of seeing him be the happiest he had been in months.
Lando, like the rest of the drivers, had around fifteen minutes to freshen up before they were whisked away to their media duties.
You weren’t going to waste a single second of it.
“Baby,” Lando laughed as you tugged him into his driver’s room, the door locked quickly behind you before you turned around to him. “What’s up—mphm.”
Your lips were against his before he could even finish his question. But talking was the last thing on his mind as his hands fell to your waist, bunching the fabric of your dress in his fists as you wrapped your arms around his neck.
“Congratulations, baby,” you murmured in between rushed kisses, your nails scratching along the back of his neck in the way that made him shiver. “You did so fucking well.”
“Yeah?” He grinned in such a way that you didn’t know if your heart was going to beat out of your chest or if you were going to clench your thighs together in hopes it did something. “Feeling proud?”
“So proud,” you mumbled before pulling him closer, but Lando just chuckled slightly.
“Baby, I gotta get changed for media,” he told you, squeezing your hips to exaggerate his point. “Someone is gonna come knocking in ten minutes—”
“So we have ten minutes?” you interrupted, your eyebrows raised in questioning.
“I mean, technically—” he started but that was more than enough.
“We can do a lot in ten minutes,” you said to him, your eyes wide and eager and he felt something in his stomach clench.
“Yeah?” he rasped.
“Yeah, baby,” you grinned before you leaned forwards, your lips meeting his in a slower, meaningful kiss. “Let me show you how proud I am.”
Lando gulped, only nodding his head in response.
“Words, Lando. I need words.”
“Fuck, please,” he all but whined as he ducked his head back down to meet your lips again.
The grip he had on your hips was desperate, fuelled with a newfound need to have you. Ten minutes was more than enough time, plus the media team could always talk to the other drivers first. He wanted you, he needed you and he was going to have you—consequences be damned.
The noise he let out was almost like a whimper, need and want so clear in his voice as the heel of your palm stroked along his length through his thick face suit.
“Baby—“ Lando wheezed out, his eyes clenching shut as you began to undo the zipper of his suit.
“Gonna give you want, pretty boy,” you murmured, your lips falling down to the skin peaking through his race suit as you finally began to start shrugging it off his shoulders. You leaned closer, kissing down his jaw and the column of his neck as your hands worked on getting him undressed. “Gonna make you feel good.”
“You always do,” he breathed out, his voice a little shaky as he helped you pull his arms out, pushing the race suit until it was pooling at his knees. But before he could even try removing it the rest of the way, a hand on his chest stopped him.
He watched you, his eyes focused on you like a hawk as your fingers traced along the waistband of his boxers. He reached for you, reached for the skirt of your dress but you swatted his hands away before he could even make a move. He opened his mouth, a small pout on his lips but he quickly fell quiet as he watched you sink to your knees.
“Baby—”
“Be a good boy and stay quiet for me, yeah?” you asked, looking up at him with such an innocent expression that he could’ve blown his load there and then.
“Promise,” he murmured, his heart beating against his ribs. “Gonna be your good boy.”
And you just smiled. A simple fucking smile and Lando knew that regardless of what you did, he wasn’t going to last long at all.
His back was pressed against the thin wall of his driver’s room, his hands tightened into fists in his hand as he watched you. The way your nails traced along the length of him over his boxers, the way your eyes lit up as his cock jumped at the simple act. The way you leaned forward, pressing open-mouthed kisses along his clothed length as your hands wrapped around his thick thighs, watching the way he squirmed under your touch.
“Please,” he whined.
But you didn’t listen, your nails lightly raking up and down his thighs as his legs shook with a strong desire he had never felt before. He needed you. He needed to be inside you. He didn’t think he needed anything more than he needed you right now.
Your fingers curled around the waistband of his boxers, slowly tugging the material down his legs until it was pooled at his knees with the rest of his race suit. He let out a soft hiss as the cool air hit him, the tip of his cock already leaking a small bead of precum.
But before he could even get used to the cool sensation, you were leaning forward and wrapping your lips around the head of his cock, letting it lay heavy on your tongue.
“Shit,” Lando whined, his hips bucking on instinct and it was your hands pushing him back against the wall that made his eyes snap back open. He looked down at you, the tip of his cock in your mouth and your wide eyes staring at him, and he was starting to wish this was how every race ended.
You bobbed your head further along the length of him, your tongue pressed against the underside of his cock as the tip brushed against the back of your throat before you pulled back. You pulled back until his tip was brushing against your lips, a thin line of salvia connecting them both as your hand moved to replace your mouth.
“You know what I want?” you asked, your voice a little raspy and low and it only made the blood rush to his cock. “You know all I thought about when you were up there?”
“What?” Because he knew, no matter what you asked, he would give you. He would give you anything you asked when you were on your knees in front of him with your hand wrapped around his cock.
“You,” it was as simple as that, if it weren’t for the fact you were reaching for his hands, slowly prying his fists open and guiding them towards you. “You taking out all that extra energy…on me.”
His stomach coiled in desire. “Baby—”
“Please, Lando,” you whispered, your tongue darting out to collect some precum leaking from his tip. “Just need to feel you inside me.”
And who was Lando to deny you? Who was he to not give you what you so desperately wanted and desired?
There was a voice in the back of his head that tried to remind him where he was. The same voice that was reminding him he had duties to uphold, he had journalists to talk to, he had a podium to celebrate with his team. The same voice that was reminding him that the locks on the driver rooms aren’t absolutely secure, that a hearty shove would be enough to get past it.
And yet, that voice in the back of his head was the last thing he was focused on.
Not when his pretty girlfriend was on her knees in front of him. Not when he had his fingers tangled in her hair as he guided her head up and down his cock. Not when his hips were thrusting, the debauched and needy sounds you were making as his cock hit the back of your throat echoing through the small room.
Not when Lando wanted to stay in this moment forever.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck,” he groaned, the muscles in his thighs tensing as he reached closer and closer to the edge. “Feel so fucking good for me, so fucking good for me, baby.”
You moaned, the noise muffled and garbled but he felt the vibrations along the length of him all the same. You pushed your hands under his fireproofs, your nails scratching down his toned torso as his abs clenched softly under your touch.
“Like you were fucking made for me,” he muttered out, his voice a little breathy and whiny as he found himself clenching his eyes shut. “Shit, baby—”
His head fell back against the wall with a soft thump as he came, his cock still deep down your throat as he spilled inside your mouth. The noises he let out were pathetic and needy as his hips bucked up as your tongue teased the tip of his cock. He slumped back against the wall, his chest rising and falling with heavy pants and little white dots blurring his vision.
He let out a soft whimper as you finally pulled away from him, pressing a chaste kiss against the head of his cock before you began to pull his boxers back up. He let out a noise of aversion, trying to bat your hands away and instead pull you closer to him which he allowed.
“Lando—” you started but you didn’t get far before he had both hands on your cheeks, pulling your face to his so he could kiss you. He didn’t even care if he could taste himself on your tongue, he just needed to kiss you.
“I love you,” he sighed wistfully against your lips in between kisses.
“I love you too,” you murmured before pulling away, a hand on his chest to stop him from trying to kiss you again. “You need to go.”
He looked like a kicked puppy. “Why?”
“You have media, Lando,” you murmured with a soft smile, looking at your boyfriend’s flushed cheeks and glazed eyes. You almost felt bad that you would have to send him out like that.
“Fuck the media,” he grumbled as he tried to lean down again, but you stopped him once again.
“Your team will kill you,” you snorted, shaking your head. “Go. I’ll be here when you get back.”
Lando let out a huff. “You give me the best goddamn blowjob of my life and expect me to just go about my life like everything is normal.”
You patted his chest. “You’ll survive.”
He sighed dramatically. “Barely.”
“Tell you what,” you said as you watched your boyfriend scamper around the cramped room to make himself look somewhat presentable before he headed out towards the media pen. “If you go out and be a good boy and do all your media duties, I’ll let you do whatever you want tonight.”
Lando paused, glancing up at you. “Whatever I want?”
“Whatever you want,” you murmured, leaning to kiss him one last time before he left. “But only if you’re on your best behaviour.”
“Deal,” he blurted out quickly, a giddy smile spread across his face and something almost like mischief shining in his eyes.
“That’s my boy,” you said with a fond smile. “My winner.”
Lando snorted. “I was P2, baby.”
“Like a winner to me, anyways,” you shrugged before you leaned down to playfully smack his ass as he walked past. “I’ve got my eyes on you, Norris.”
He flashed you a cheeky smile. “Keep ‘em up here, darling.”
And you could only laugh when he barrelled back into his driver’s room two hours later, grinning like a cheshire cat as he did so.
“A deal is a deal, baby, gotta pay up now.”
So you did.

i don't know how to sum this up. i haven't slept in four days.
...this is gonna be a long one and im sorry. also literally every fucking one in this whole thing minus V is autistic, i don't know how, but them's the facts.
background info: around... some 8 years ago maybe, my truly BELOVED friend M (today 31F) started hanging out with a new friend group her then-friend S (31F now) had introduced her to.
(i (31 genderqueer) didn't know M then. i do know she was very lonely.)
so. S has introduced M to her friend group, and M hangs out with them for about... two years?, but, as far as i understand, S is the go-between here. M asks S what plans they have on weekends, S calls M when there's plans on weekends, that sort of thing.
what happens is: at one point S's girlfriend, V, starts flirting with M. heavily. in front of S. S VERY MATURELY decides that the solution to this is obviously to start telling M there's never plans on weekends while telling the friend group M is never free on weekends. shitty move, i think we can all agree.
and M ends up alone. she's never heard from a single one of any of those other people ever again. ever.
now. M, OBVIOUSLY and i think with good enough reason, HATES S.
but.
1) it's not S's fault M is no longer friends with the whole group, like M thinks it is. it's just not. if they had wanted to keep hanging out with her, very simply, they would have. S didn't even explicitly ask or tell them not to hang out with M, nor did she talk shit about M to get them to leave her out. and want to know why we know all this? it's because after (AFTER!) S and V broke up, M and V dated for like, three months, and V told M. what S did was shit and immature, but not like. extreme.
2) we don't know if S even knew how lonely M was/was gonna be. in my understanding of what's right or wrong, this is KIND OF REALLY important. the intention, the meanness, the ability to knowingly isolate someone to that degree. jealousy is one thing, being genuinely mean is another.
3) all of this happened 10 years ago. TEN. YEARS. they were like, 20. fetuses. we're all queer, they were all navigating the first romantic experiences, shit happens. S was shit but S also could have become a better person in these TEN YEARS. we just don't know.
OTHER background info: ive known S for like, 10 years, and she's someone VERY interesting who i've always liked (not romantically), but she's not my friend.
ok, and now. fast forward to last week. M & i & F1 (27F, my bestie, M's friend) go to a pub. S is there, says hi to me, hi to M (which. like at least apologize or something. but ok) (at this point i have no idea they even knew each other btw), S & i talk a bit like we always do, M goes home (i suspect nothing), S & F1 & i hang out, next thing u know F1 and S start to date and S and i become better friends.
(where i absolutely am the A: apparently, at some point M told me what S did to her. before we met S at the pub? after? i have NO memory of any of this.)
M wants nothing to do with S, as is her right. but at this point F1 is dating her and im making plans to like, watch clone wars with her. M tells me & F1 the whole story (tells again, in my case), tells us she has no problems with us hanging out with S but again, please can we not force them together, which, ofc, i tell her about our star wars plans and like, she's chill, she says yeah sure go for it, she jokes around about how S knows lots of people and we gotta use her to get another friend a girlfriend, shit like that.
forward again. one sunday morning, M asks me to hang out. that sunday just so happens to be clone wars day with S & F1. i tell her. she goes BALLISTIC. like, tachycardia, tunnel vision, palpitations, she's fully ready to never talk to me again because "i can't ask [me] to not hang out with S because that would be toxic, but i just CAN'T be around S, so here we go again, she's gonna steal my friend [me] (...i don't think M cares too much about losing F1, they're not that close), im losing control of the situation, the only way for me to stay in control is to choose to cut off [me] right here and now, so that's what ill do, goodbye forever". and she spends the WHOLE DAY in this frenzy (completely unbeknownst to me!), with multiple people trying to calm her down and like, get her to talk to me. (which OF COURSE the next day she ends up doing, because she loves me, she's just. very autistic.) anyway, at this point (sunday evening) ive been made aware of the situation with M, so i had F2 (F31, she's a mutual close friend who was acting as a kinda peacemaker) tell M i was there for her & ready to talk whenever, and we meet up on monday evening, i get apologized to (M had like, blocked me on all social media 😂) for the whole... overreaction, especially after id been told it was ok to see S, and M officially asks me to stop hanging out with S. i try to tell her "can i ask S about, idk, what was going on in her brain back then". she starts to hedgehog up on me so i shut tf up.
here i am the A again: i know M very well. i should have known it would not actually be okay to see S. i just should have. i do know her.
here i... can't tell how much of an A i might be: i don't want to tell S to fuck off. i WANT to talk to S, figure out how much of an actual irredeemable asshole she is, and only in that case tell her to fuck off. the 3 points i made at the start of this papyrus are still valid. also i think it's kind of fair to give her the right to like, defend herself? explain herself? before i go full ghost on her
... its like this. it's not like i care about S. not to be mean but she's no one to me. i just would like her to BE someone to me, cause she seems cool.
i have few friends. i would like one more friend.
i also made friends with a friend of S, T (can't remember age NB). they're the only other genderqueer person i know irl. id like to get to know them. (also they're kind of cute but that's genuinely not that important lol, i just like to make this post Even Longer). i wouldn't get to know T if i did what M wants (needs?) me to.
and let's not forget S is currently dating my close friend F1. just to put icing on the cake.
then again, i adore M. my loyalty to her SHOULD be more important than two people who are, again, no one to me. i should just tell F1, sorry, i won't hang out with ur gf, like ill be civil to her but i won't pursue a friendship with her. because i don't NEED to. i don't NEED these friendships. i would just LIKE them.
if S turns out to BE an asshole who hurt M on purpose, it's great, it's golden. problem solved. ill tell her she's shit and, i mean, F1 will probably break up with her too. no one gained or lost anything from a whole shebang were i haven't slept in like 4 days and got a stress herpes or whatever it's called, it's cool, it happens, go us.
but if S is... justifiable? understandable? NOT a dick? i don't feel i have an actual reason to delete her number. would i, for M? probably, yeah, but i don't WANT to.
F1 says im a doormat. F2 says im basically a monster and how could i do this to M when there's plant of other friendly fish in the sea.
AITA?
and while we're at it, if someone feels like giving advice... what do i do?
What are these acronyms?

Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Emily Prentiss, at the insistent of her therapist, signs up for a trauma ‘dumping’ site. She never expected that her Dump would connect her back to her old boss and the man she’s been in love with for over ten years.
Also the man who she is absolutely furious at for leaving
Ya’ll this is 5k words.
Since publishing the first 5 chapters, I have been made aware that the term ‘Trauma Bonding’ is actually an abuse tactic and doesn’t mean ‘bonding over shared trauma’. Would like to make it clear that was a very strong mistake on my part and I apologise deeply for any offence. Moving forward, PenPal will be used in place of Trauma Buddy, with only the website being titled a such. Thank you for understanding.
Warning : Smut, 18+, Unprotected sex.
Never written smut before and I don’t think I ever will again so don’t bully me too hard okay I really tried.
Read below the cut
Jack stares at his father as he sits at the table, ever present scowl back on his face. "Dad?" He questions. "You've been quiet all day, since you met up with E-Phoenix" He almost slips up and winces but Aaron doesn't notice.
"Have I?"
"Dad."
Aaron sighs and looks up from his pasta to look at his son, spying the blue eyes of his ex wife staring daggers into him. Jack tilts his head, his expression all Haley, and waits patiently. "Jack this is a grown-"
"Don't give me that" Jack interrupts, looking like Haley but sounding like him. Aaron rolls his eyes and points his finger at him.
"Stop." He says. "First and final warning."
Jack sighs and leans against the wall of the dining room. "Sorry" He mumbles. Aaron's sat at the table, eating takeout pasta that he put on a plate to feel better about himself. Jack didn't want anything so he's just ventured out of his room to see if Aaron was in a better mood. "Did something happen with Phoenix?" He asked.
Aaron takes a big gulp of water and sighs. "It..turns out that I already know her." He tells Jack in a mumble. "And I didn't realise who."
Jack blinks.
It's not Emily?
He glares out the window at his mom, the wind doesn't blow, and shrugs.
"Who was it?" He asks, casually.
Aaron looks up at him again and shrugs. Jack sits next to him, concerned. "Nobody-"
"Dad you can tell me" Jack prods. Then he lights up. "Is it Beth? It's gotta be Beth-" Beth was nice, she made him happy. He could live with that. Not the brunette woman he thought (or wanted) but it's liveable.
"It's Emily." Aaron tells him, almost breathlessly. "The woman...Phoenix. It's Emily."
Jack stares at his father, unblinking.
He's kidding. Right?
Aaron didn't know what to expect with Jack's reaction but silence wasn't one of them.
Finally, he talks.
"Yeah" Jack says. "I guessed that." He speaks slowly, confused. Aaron opens his mouth but no sound comes out. "Her name is PhoenixPren" Jack tells him, shocked. "Dad, seriously? She's got half her name in her user."
Aaron blanches at that, shocked at himself.
"She rose from the dead like a phoenix" Jack carries on. "..There's no way you didn't know!" He practically begs, almost laughing. Aaron just sits still, staring. "Jesus, Dad!" Jack exclaims, standing up. "You told me she works cases"  He continues, full of disbelief.
"I thought she was a lawyer" Aaron says, more to himself than his son, with furrowed brows.
"Oh my God" Jack shakes his head,
"I- uh i wasn't thinking about Prentiss at the time" Aaron mumbles, trying to save himself.
Jack shoots him a coy look. "Dad, you always think about her" He says pointedly. He smiles and pats his fathers shoulder. "I'm glad you've found her again."
"Really?"
Jack nods. "Mom's been dead for over ten years dad" He tells him. "You've had one serious girlfriend in that time. And she looked a hell of a lot like Emily did." He's quiet now, the mention of Haley bringing a somber tone.
"Beth did not-"
"She wore the exact same blue shawl to Jj's wedding" Jack rolls his eyes. "I'm going to meet Auntie Jess for dinner." He tells him, moving to the front door. He pauses though, and turns to his father. "You've missed her a lot dad. I think you should invite her over for dinner or something."
Aaron chuckles though it's bitter and pained. "It doesn't work like that, son." He replies. "She's furious at me. I've missed my chance."
Jack actually laughs this time, a whole hearted belly laugh. "Yeah, Somehow I doubt that" He shakes his head. "Call her dad. Don't give up."
Aaron smiles at his teenager, shaking his head. He stands and walks over to Jack to hug him tightly. The boy is almost as tall as him now and that fact pains him. "Thanks buddy. Enjoy dinner"
Jack pushes him off with a false grimace. "Gross" He mumbles. "Call her" He orders. "And then call Uncle Dave."
"Uncle Dave-"
"Oh we both know you miss him too" Jack rolls his eyes before disappearing into the evening. Aaron watches as he waits on the curb until a blue car rolls up and Jess hops out. She waves at her ex brother in law happily before wrapping her nephew in a long hug. Her husband pops out from the drivers side with a smile, giving a side hug to Jack.
Jess smiles at her husband, laying a hand on her round stomach. Aaron's chest tightens as he kisses her forehead and a little brunette girl rolls down the window of the car, yelling impatiently that she was hungry. Jess waves at Aaron again, smiling before they all pile in and the car drives off.
He can't get the image of Jess' daughter out of his head as her face morphs into a near identical one to the woman he can't stop thinking about either.
It was too late for that in life, he realises with a lang of bitterness. Emily was turning 53 in March and he was on the ugly side of 60 already.
Just another chance they've missed out on.
With that aggressive thought he picks up his mobile forcefully. As he's punching in a well remembered number, he pauses and realises that it's been almost three years since he last called her. He may not even have the same number.
A horrible noise emits from his throat as he reset his phone. Aaron rubs at his forehead, utterly stressed before switching tactics and dialling a new number, one he knows hasn't changed.
"Hello?" A coy voice answers. "To what do I owe the pleasure?"
"Hey Dave" Aaron smiles despite himself. "I need your help."
~
"What do you want?" Emily snaps a few days later, feeling the presence of someone standing behind her. She slams the spoon on the counter and whirls to find Dave standing there behind her. They're doing over time in the office, Linda Barnes was intent on torturing them as much as possible and as such the bullpen was half empty, only their team and a few others mulling about. Didn’t help that she had drunk herself half blind (again. Don’t worry she’s sworn off alcohol for the time being) the previous night and was feeling dead on her feet.
"Coffee." Dave shrugs and moves around. "Thats all."
Emily hums in suspicion before plucking up her own. She eyes Dave as he sings a tune to himself while moving around the Kitchenette.
"You drank the last of it" Dave states, not even attempting to act innocent as he pours the fresh coffee pot down the drain.
"Dave!" Emily protests, trying to stop him. "What are you-"
"You're gonna have to make a coffee run" Dave tells her, shaking the pot so it empties. "You know the office rules, Prentiss."
She huffs at him, putting down her mug. He shrugs.
"PRENTISS DRANK THE LAST OF THE COFFEE" Dave suddenly yells loudly. Tara throws her head back and groans while JJ whirls in her seat to glare at their boss. Spencer was in the process of walking up to make his own and he stops and pouts in the middle of the bullpen.
"No I didn't!" Emily has the urge to stomp her foot. "Dave, I'm really not in the mood for your shit today." She groans, picking her coffee up again.
"Look, See!" Dave points at the china. "Proof,"
"Dammit Emily." JJ curses.
"I-" Emily tries to process. "Fine." She concedes and slams the mug back down. "This is the second time you've done that to me." She hisses at him, feeling the urge to throw a punch at his smug smirk and marches off. She orders JJ to text her everyone's coffee order over her shoulder as she stalks out angrily.
"Okay" Dave claps his hands together. "Everyone go home." He waves his hands in a dismissive motion
Penelope, who entered just as Emily left while cursing in Italian, laughed a little. "What?" She giggles. "But Prentiss just-"
"She won't be getting coffee" Dave tells them nonchalantly.
Spencer narrows his eyes. "What did you do?" He asks. Dave shrugs.
"What about Barnes?" Luke asks, fiddling with a pen.
Penelope flicks his ear, rolling her eyes at his loud exclaim. "Linda left two hours ago." She tells him as if he's stupid. "Stupid." There you go.
Tara is still staring at Rossi. "What did you do, man?" She asks, suspicion coating her.
Rossi rolls his eyes. "Does it matter?" He asks, ignoring the way the girls look at each other. "Look, Prentiss has been stressed out lately, more than usual right?" He prods gently. "I may have stumbled across a solution and fixed that. Can we drop it."
"You got Prentiss laid?" Tara responds, making Penelope giggle and Spencer scoff in disgust. "It better not be Mendoza" She warns, standing up.
"Like it'll be that fuckhead." Rossi tells her seriously, almost mad at the mere suggestion.
"Good" JJ stretches in her chair. Her phone pings and she flips it to check, smirking at the username. "She's hounding me for the order, what shall I say?"
"Make excuses for everyone leaving, I don't care." Dave shrugs before leaving them to fend for themselves.
CheetoBreath : Don't kill me.
Blackbird : Fuck off. What happened?
CheetoBreath : Well, Michael got sick so Will called me I'm halfway out the door, Luke's dog sitter has to leave Roxy so he followed you out. Tara's ex husband is kicking up a fuss with the lawyers and Penelope has a meeting with some tech kids. Morgan called Spencer because Sav has taken Hank to her parents for a visit so they're having a guys night. Dunno what Dave's doing.
Blackbird : ALL of you are leaving? After sending me out on a GODDAM COFFEE RUN??
Cheetobreath ; Yes. I'm so sorry.
Emily launches her phone onto the passenger seat of her car, yelling profanities in a multitude of different languages. She groans loudly when she's done swearing and lays her head on the steering wheel.
Knock Knock
Emily jumps in her seat and fumbles for her gun in the glovebox on instinct. She turns her head to the passenger window to find certain Aaron Hotchner standing out there, two mugs of coffee in his hand and a sheepish smile on his face.
Emily narrows her eyes.
Fuckin' Dave.
She curses the man as she rolls down the window.
"Don't kill Dave." Aaron quips, suppressing a sigh when she just glared at him. "I put him up to it. Here" He holds out one of the takeaway cups. "Peace offering. A Caramel Latte, Decaf. No sugar, one packet of Splenda." He rattles off her usual order and unknowingly disarms her.
She can't tell whether that makes her angrier or sadder.
"You remember?" She says softly. When Aaron nods, looking up at her with wide hopeful eyes she sighs. "Get in." She orders, unlocking her car.
"Huh?"
"In. The. Car." Emily orders him again, grabbing the peace offering. He smirks in victory as he yanks open the door while she takes a delicate sip. "Thanks for the coffee." She says, clearing her throat. "Did you drive here?"
"Took a cab" He replies, tensely. "Jack's got the car, he's gone to visit his old friends."
Emily pauses as she reaches for the ignition. "Jack's driving?" She asks quietly, awed. The image of the small boy, dressed far to somber for a kid his age blowing a kiss to his mothers coffin rudely enters her mind.
The passage of time is just so cruel.
Theyre sat silent for a while as Emily pulls away from the curb she parked on to text JJ.
"Why am I getting the sense that you're mad that Rocket was me?" Aaron begins as soon as they pull away. He means it as an icebreaker, a joke, but it serves the opposite effect.
Emily's focus is on driving and her knuckles are white with the force of her grip on the wheel. Her jaw is clenched just as firmly and her eyes are locked in front of her. "Huh" She replies, sarcastically. "Guess retirement has made you a little rusty." She quips, yanking the gear stick back with more force than needed.
"Prentiss." He shoots back, familiar authority rising in his chest without permission. An order.
Emily rolls her eyes. "You're not my boss anymore" She sasses. "And you haven't been for 7 years, you can call me Emily."
"Emil-"
"I'm not mad" She interrupts him before he can sass her back. "At the fact that you're Rocket." She practically spits out.
To be fair, that's sort of the truth. Emily feels a twisted sense of relief that she hasn't unloaded all her baggage on a complete stranger. It's confusing and hurtful but relief covers her that her PenPal is the only man in the whole world that actually can understand her.
They drive around aimlessly for a while in tense silence, willing the other to speak before Emily decides she's had enough of driving.
They pull up to her apartment building and he winces when she clambers out, slamming the door. He follows after her quickly, vaguely wondering why she's brought him home, and quietly.
Emily storms off to her apartment and forces open the door, slamming it when he gingerly steps in behind her. Aaron watches, awkwardly, as his ex employee hurls her purse across the room to the couch with a huff.
"Why are we here?" Aaron asks, taking in the apartment. It doesn't look lived in, more like a show room with immaculate couch cushions, spotless counter tops and stark white carpets. The only real homely attributes are the magazines laying haphazardly on the counter and the cat items thrown about.
She's still not settled, even after two years, and that fact only cuts him deeply and hurts even more. She really had put her own life on hold to help him.
How could he ever thank her?
Emily shrugs. "Needed a private place to have a talk" She mumbles.
A black tuff of fur runs out from her bedroom, yowling. He beelines straight for the man, hissing and glaring. Emily catches him as if she expected that.
"Serg, it's just Hotch" She mumbles as the man's name made him hiss more. She calmly puts Sergio in his crate and moves him back into her bedroom.
"Did you know?" She asks quietly as she comes back. "That it was me you were talking to?" She whirls around on Aaron, narrowing her eyes.
"How would I have known?" Aaron's so confused. "You lied in half your dumps!" He accuses her.
Now that he knows the truth about Phoenix, he can't help but feel annoyed at the fact she lied to him. She was willingly lying while he was opening up.
Emily clenched her jaw and wonders off to the kitchen, not really wanting anything but busying herself with finding a snack. "Technically it wasn't a lie, just wasn't the full truth." She retorts. Aaron perches himself at the other side of the kitchen, against the counter. She settles for a kitkat and distracts herself with fidgeting with the foil.
He folds his arms. "Did you know?" He asks her, suspicious now. "That it was me? Did Garcia put you up to it?"
"Excuse me?" Emily laughs at his ridiculous question, barely looking up from her chocolate. "No, I didn't know it was you at first."
"At first?"
"I spoke to Dave about it" She tells him honestly. "He said something that had me realising it was you. I figured it out 3 days ago." She states, slamming her chocolate on the counter and changing lanes, making up a glass of water.
"So you did know it was me?" He asks.
"Yes."
"Then I'm so confused, Emily." He emphasised her name and she pauses because her stomach bounces with butterflies at the sound. She can count on one hand how many times he's used her first time to refer to her. "You're angry at me because of what exactly?"
She snaps.
"BECAUSE YOU LEFT." She hollers, slamming her cabinet door shut. Aaron stares at her as she gets off on a roll. "YOU LEFT THE TEAM AND ME." Emily's too far gone in her anger to think about the words coming out of her mouth. "AND YOU GOT ME TO OPEN UP AGAIN AND HOW?? HOW ARE YOU ALWAYS THE ONE?!" She finishes with a deep breath, throwing stuff around. She turns away from him as her words began to register in her head and she cringes.
"Okay, first of all YOU left." Aaron boils over too, her yelling accusatory and hypocritical things does him in. "Multiple times!" He adds, louder.
Emily sighs and drops her shoulders. She closes her eyes and shakes her head. "I know..." She replies, softer. "I know. I'm sorry."
Emily can't tell whether she apologises because she yelled, because she's being a hypocrite or because she left.
Aaron doesn't know what to say to that. 'You left me'  echoes around his head in the quiet. They're silent for a long, tension filled, while
"In your dump.." Emily begins in the silence, eyes narrowed. She turns around again and walks forward, standing in the middle of her kitchen.  "You said you lost the love of your life when she-"
His hardened stare makes her voice trail off. "I lost her when she died and came back a hollow shell. She couldn't handle being a ghost and she left."
Her heart pounds in her chest while he talks. His hands are shaking.
"I lost you."
Emily's glass clatters to the ground when he steps towards her. He keeps moving until she's backed up against her kitchen counter. Aaron isn't thinking rationally anymore, not when he pins her against the marble by gripping her hips. He stares down at her like a lion with prey but she's strong and stubborn so her gaze is as equally dark. Filled with lust, heat and heartbreak.
Aaron comes to his senses when there's no reply apart from heavy breaths. He releases her as if her skin burned him. "Shit. Em I'm-"
She cuts off his apology by gripping the sleeves of his shirt and bringing his head down to her. She pushes their lips together like he was water and she had been in the desert for days. He's still, shocked, just for a second, until his brain kicks in to high gear and he's responding just as passionately. He pushes back against her furiously, again pinning her to the counter. They're connected until their lungs are burning and their eyes are dripping with tears.
Emily pulls away first with a loud sigh. He chases her and their foreheads stay merged. They're breathing heavily in the silence, Aaron's hands on her hips and hers on his biceps. Both of their grips are almost painful, as if the other would be swept away in a moments notice.
"Me?" Emily asks quietly, taking him off guard.
Aaron swallows and removes one of his hands to cup her chin. The sight of her reddening, unsure eyes makes his heart break. "You, Emily." He confirms, voice thick with his own emotion. "Since before Viper." He adds, smiling a little at his ridiculousness. "Me?" He asks, now insecure.
Emily's breath comes out in a laugh. "You" She replies before going in again. "Since Foyet." She mumbles against his lips.
"God we're such idiots" He laughs, making her break too. "How the hell didn't we realise this sooner?"
"How the hell didn't we realise that we were each others PenPal?" Emily replies, pressing another kiss to the corner of his lips. He silences her by reconnecting them fully.
They barely part for air this time before they're back together. Soon, the kiss becomes more heated and their hands start wandering. Emily unexpectedly moans into it and Aaron's no longer powered by his brain. The sound is delicious and he wants more of it. He disconnects their lips, smirking at her whine, before planting them on her neck. Her whine turns into a low groan as he instantly finds her pulse point and sucks hard.
"Hotch" She gasps out, impulsively arching her hips.
Aaron pulls back and stares into her eyes. "Aaron." He corrects, seriously.
Emily's flushed under his gaze and she nods. "Aaron" She corrects herself, licking her lips.
He trails the action and literally growls. She would've made fun of him for it, if he didn't follow the action with hoisting her up onto the counter with strength you wouldn't know he has.  He kisses her again and she's helpless against it.
"Mhm" She makes a sound as she pulls back from him. "Not here."
They're too old, too tired to be fucking against the kitchen counter. Aaron looks seconds away from protesting but her heated gaze makes him nod. He doesn't wait for her to jump and instead simply picks her back up and carries her into the room where she stuck her cat. Emily pushes Sergio out, rolling her eyes when he hisses at her again. She turns back to him only to be smothered by another furious kiss.
Their clothes are removed in a desperate frenzy and she finds herself with her back against the pillows with him hovering above her. This part is slower, awkward, as they finally take each other in.
"Fuck you're so stunning" Aaron states, raking his eyes over her. He's thought about her before - what man in proximity to her hasn't? - but nothing he's imagined has ever come close to the real thing.
Emily licks her lips as she looks over him. "You too" She breathes, resisting the urge to roll her eyes at his proud smirk.
Aaron gazes at her with something that can be only described as love and it catches her off guard, makes her breath stick in her throat. He ignores her scars, except the branding from Doyle she kept as a token of survival. He glares at it as if he could will it away before suddenly clamping his lips over it. Emily bucks off the bed in surprise as Aaron uncaringly sucks a bruise over the raised skin, claiming her as his. He trails his tongue over the pattern twice before releasing her. He moves over to the other breast and does the same, his hand toyed and pulled at the neglected nipple each time.
Then his hand takes her by surprise again and cups her vagina unexpectedly. She gasps in surprise, throwing her head back, and exposing her throat. He takes the opportunity to reattach his lips to her neck.
"Someone's excited" He chuckles against her flesh, making her swat the back of his head.
He tries to go further down, dropping a kiss on the scar of her torso but she stops him and tugs him back up. "Next time" She sighs, staring up at him. "Want you" Emily mumbles. She hates how pathetic she's sounding and hates him (not really) for how he's made her like that.
Aaron can't help the ecstatic grin on his face at her words. Next Time. She arches her hips against him in response, a raised eyebrow, and that grin falls. He groans in her ear and the sound nearly makes Emily fall over the edge.
Their gazes are locked when he finally enters her for the first time. Emily gasps at the intrusion and lifts her hips in response, tensing up. He hisses at the way she's clenched and reluctantly stills to give her time to adjust. He already knows he's not going to last very long, so while he's still, his hand comes up to press down on the small bud of nerves between them.
Emily moans out and nods her head, reconnecting their eyes. She's completely under his mercy. Aaron begins a slow, experimental pace but soon speeds up, encouraged by her cries. He grunts in pleasure as he leans down to reconnect their lips again. They move in tandem, chasing their highs, finally feeling each other.
"I've thought about this." He admits as he thrusts into her. "For years."
Emily cant even reply, her senses overtaken. She worms and wriggles underneath him, moaning loudly. Finally she gets out a weak "Me too." She confesses, staring at him. "Years."
"Sometimes I'd wonder what you'd look like, bent over my desk at work" He teases her, his hand coming back to toy with her clit. Emily's moans got louder in response and shes clenched impossibly harder. He told her some more of his sinful thoughts that starred her over the years and it's not long until she's falling over the edge, his name on the tip of her tongue. "Fuck Emily" He grits out as she slumps down, knowing he was going to follow. He pumps a few more times before pulling out just in time, spurting all over her stomach.
He collapses next to her, utterly exhausted, chest heaving. Emily opens her eyes weakly to look at him.
"Didn't have you down for a talker" She says first breathlessly.
Aaron laughs in response and nods, not verbally replying, ironically. Emily looks at him properly, lying in her bed and satisfied, and her eyes start burning at the image.
He was here. He was in her bed and He was in love with her.
He leaves to the kitchen during her thoughts, coming back with wipes and a drink of water. Emily watches through half open, teary eyes as he thoughtfully cleans himself off her stomach and makes her drink the water.
Aaron's emotional himself, looking over the figure of her. Hair tousled, lips swollen with her neck and chest covered in love bites and bruises. He winces at the roughness of her chest, the clover glowing red where his mouth had been. He reaches out and brushes his fingertips over it as he lies back down.
Emily breaks then. She begins sobbing under his gaze, even harder when he simply pulls her into his arms.
"I just" She tries to get out an excuse for her crying but Aaron just shushes her and hold onto her while she shakes. His hand rests on her back, her face in his chest and tucked under his chin. They curl together as she cries, not saying a word and instead just holding onto each other. When she finally calms down, still crying but not profusely, she pulls away and looks up at him. "I love you" Emily says. Her smile is fake and watery when he glances down in shock.
She's worried she's scared him, admitting that so soon after everything, paranoid that he's going to take off again.
On some level, she has to agree saying that then and there is fucking insane. But she had to get it out. Had to see that through. The universe, so far, hasn't been on their side so Emily figured she better get ahead of it this time.
So no, she's not taking it back.
"I love you." Aaron repeats it back to her, softly. She breaks again, crying in relief this time, and goes back to hiding in his chest. He keeps her there, soothing her tears and repeating that he loves her too. She's never normally this emotional about anything (Derek once called her a sociopath) so this crying shocks them both. Emily would later consider that this outburst was the climax of everything over the years, all the heart ache and pain her own stubbornness put her through.
Eventually, she tires herself out and falls asleep pressed against him.
The Rocket allows himself to break then, knowing she couldn't see him. Though he'd been overly vulnerable with her over the past 6 months it's different now.
Phoenix was a stranger. Prentiss was certainly not.
Emily had always been the one to know him more intimately. She was there for him after Foyet, the one who sought him out after the bomb, the one who was his fucking pen pal before he knew what that even entailed.
Aaron cries in the stillness of the darkening room, holding onto the woman he loves as she slept. All the emotions came back to him at once like a freight train and he loses it in the safety of her arms.
He doesn't realise that she's awake and moved to hold him instead until after he's done crying. She runs her fingers through his salt and pepper hair and shushes him softly.
"I've got you" Emily muttered in his hair. "I've got you." He pulls back to look at her fully.
"I'm in this." He tells her. "I'm staying. It's your turn to run." He reminds her softly.
Emily bites her lip and shakes her head slowly. "I'm staying." She practically whispers. "I'm not running."
They make love again, slowly this time less desperate with the confirmations that neither were willing to go, as the moon rises. They whisper all the words they wished they could have said years ago in each other's ear, urging the other to let go.
Afterwards, Their phones ring and make them jolt apart. Emily has a case in Florida and Jack's calling out of concern when Aaron wasn't home when he came back.
They reluctantly pull themselves away to get dressed. Aaron notices with a twisted sense of pride that she's limping and there's a hickey on her neck that has to be covered up.
"We'll talk when I get back?" Emily asks, almost hesitantly, after she locks her door. She reaches out for him but drops her hand before she touches him. "Please?" She hates how insecure and small she sounds but it melts away when he smiles at her.
Aaron pulls her by her off centre belt to him, smirking. "Yeah" He agrees, stamping a kiss on her lips that leaves her wanting more. "We'll talk." He pauses and fixes her collar nonchalantly. "Wheels up." He states.
Emily laughs at him, noting that his words don't fill her with bitterness like they usually do , and bends down to pick up Sergio's crate. "I love you." She tells the man softly.
Aaron smiles. "I love you." It's hard not to get choked up at the words. It was only the disbelief that she actually said them to him that stopped his emotions coming though.
"C'mon you" Emily huffs, putting Sergio in her trunk. "Off to Penny's"
He watches as she drives off, taking his heart with him. Aaron's smiling though, grinning like a crazed man in the moonlit as he journeys home.

DW REWATCH
S01E03 THE UNQUIET DEAD
Tumblr media
The Doctor has great expectations for his latest adventure when he and Rose join forces with Charles Dickens to investigate a mysterious plague of zombies.
Mr. Sneed sucks.
The Doctor's already beginning to enlist Rose's help in flying the TARDIS--mind you, this is only their SECOND adventure ever. She hasn't even moved in yet!
Rose has a great little line in here, "But, it's like, think about it, though. Christmas. 1860. Happens once, just once and it's gone, it's finished, it'll never happen again. Except for you. You can go back and see days that are dead and gone a hundred thousand sunsets ago. No wonder you never stay still." and it's wonderful how she just GETS him immediately. She understands, immediately, what keeps him going. It's also something she desires in her own life. RTD summed it up perfectly, she humanises him while he time-lords her.
Charles Dickens!!! I do love the historical episodes of DW.
YOU LOOK BEAUTIFUL. HE'S SO IN LOVEEEEEEEE. "considering" you're not being slick Doc!!
That little touch of Rose rushing to the door first; it portrays perfectly how she's fit for a life like this, travelling with the Doctor. She's adapted so quickly! Keep in mind here, the previous two adventures haven't exactly gone "well" and yet she's so eager to see what awaits them.
She looped her arm into his....my heart
What phantasmagoria is this? me @ every episode of the 60th
Rose is so incredibly empathetic. This old woman just flipped and burped out, like, a whole ass entity, and she hurries over to check on her.
The Doctor's fangirl moment is so charming! How exactly are you a fan? In what way do you resemble a means of keeping oneself cool? :D
What the Shakespeare is going on?
Rose asking the CORPSE CLIMBING OUT OF ITS FUCKING COFFIN if it's alright. Babe i love you and your bleeding heart but GET OUT OF THERE
Rose laying it down for Sneed! Go! Girl!
It's interesting that Charles is so hesitant to admit that there might be things in the world beyond his understanding, and it's especially interesting that the Doctor's the one reprimanding him when he's like that too. [The Impossible Planet]. Well, at least he's self aware?
Rose immediately going to help with the washing up. Girl how many times are you going to win my heart. "How much do you get paid" ROSE. BABE.
Super appreciate the nuance of her being (very) condescending towards Gwen. It's such a fine line to tread---Rose clearly sees herself as a voice for the "disenfranchised" but she regularly gets ahead of herself and disregards the opinions and wants of the actual person. This topic is also (horribly) touched upon with Hermione and S.P.E.W in the HP books, and it's something I find very interesting o.o
Bad wolf mention! Also 'the darkness'...was Rose always meant to dimension hop? I always thought Billie chose to leave at the end of s2 and that's why she was written out (and back in eventually)
Good smile. Nice bum. It's literally canon that Nine was outside eavesdropping on this; Ten was sculpted very, very purposefully, ladies and gentlemen.
Gwen points out Rose has been thinking of her father now, more than ever. She has just travelled backwards and forwards in time, her mind is obviously wandering to the man who left such a large gap in her life!
Gotta mention the concerned glance Rose shoots the Doctor during the seance. She's so in tune with his feelings and his emotional state. (AKA SHE KNOWS VERY WELL THAT TEN WOULDVE NEVER MADE A MOVE)
I think it's interesting to point out that when confronted with the Gelth's plan, only Rose stands up against the Doctor. Gwen, Sneed and even Charles fucking Dickens automatically accept the Doctor as some sort of greater authority---but wonderful, brilliant Rose is so strong in her moral convictions. She thinks of herself as his equal.
The exposition is done so neatly in this--the Doctor's explaining to Rose, and to us, how time is in flux and how history can be rewritten in the blink of an eye. (mavity, anyone?) It truly is a reboot of the show, explaining so elegantly to new viewers how the science of time-travel is going to be handled in here. Going on a tangent from that, nothing the Doctor does or says indicates that he's ever travelled with a human companion before. A general rule of thumb in media is the characters are unaware of their genre so it is inherently unfair to blame Rose for reacting the way she does in School Reunion. Remember folks, Rose antis are the weakest link.
At the tender age of 19, when confronted with her death...Rose chooses to assure this broken man she barely knows that her death isn't his fault. And this won't be the only time she does it this season. My. Heart.
IM SO GLAD I MET YOU HELL YEAH TURN UP THIS SONG ALL MY HOMIES LOVE NINEROSE
Alright I've raved enough about how Rose is endlessly empathetic and refuses to leave Gwen but let's talk about how the Doctor refuses to leave as well! They really are perfect for each other.
Special mention to the actor playing Dickens, he's so good!
But in your time, he was already dead. We've brought him back to life, and he's more alive now than he's ever been, old Charlie boy. A beautiful line, and it also got my cogs turning with how it relates to the Tenth Doctor. It's funny; when you consider time travel, everyone's dead already and everyone hasn't been born yet and everyone's existing, all at the same time. As long as they're not part of your personal timeline, someone can be immortal---you choose a moment in their life and you visit that. And for Ten...Rose is fundamentally immortal. With sending her back to the other universe, he ensures that she'll live forever, in a way. He'll never see her age, never see her die. She'll live on only as he remembers her. Idk if that makes sense but god. He gets her forever. And Tentoo gets her everyday. What a ship, right?
Everyone go read Laddie, Lie Near Me.
Anyway. Decent episode! 7/10 for me. I'm not a huge fan of the Gelth.

Arin (Simon And Co.'s Naga OC) Lol
Yeah Simon is the guy who I'm always trading with and also the guy who loves all things DC except for The Flash for some reason. Anyway, he and his friends made a Naga OC and then while giving me information for this story, he specifically requested that the prey be Ramon from Resident Evil.
So, consider this a sort-of sequel to the Leon story! Enjoy!
WARNING: DRINKING, REFERENCES TO ALCOHOLISM
****
“UUUUHEUUHHHHHHEEEEEUUUUUUUUUUH!” Ramon waveringly vocalized in pure agony whilst violently slamming his forehead onto the bar countertop. “WHYYYYYYYHYYYHYHYHYHYHYHYHYYYYYY?”
It had been a little over a week since Ramon’s wild encounter with Leon within the less fortunate urban region of Fandom City, and even after letting the experience simmer in his mind for so long, poor, poor Ramon could still not get his mind off of the incident’s cruelty, his ribs still aching slightly from being smashed against the alleyway asphalt.
“I mean I knew that he fucking hated me but I didn’t know it was THIS bad!” the shuddering man exclaimed before promptly taking another swig from his bottle. “NOW, NO MATTER HOW MANY TIMES I WASH MYSELF I AM NEVER GOING TO PURGE MY BODY FROM HIS DISGUSTING, SLIMY-UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH!
Viciously chugging down the rest of the inebriating contents before forcefully overriding his body’s currently raving impulses to mercilessly shatter the fragile, fucking thing on the floor, Ramon instead, ultimately, yet utterly unwillingly, resigned himself into a state of movementless rumination, simply allowing the force of gravity to heave his head back down until it silently smacked itself against the countertop once more, where the drunken man lay perfectly still for ten minutes. By this point in the night, most of the regular patrons had gone home to go to bed, and those who were nighttime party animals had transferred over to a local club in lieu of the bar. Thus, it was now only him lying in shivering despair whilst clutching a bottle, and Ramon did, indeed, prefer it that way. After all, with no one else here, he was practically free to say whatever he wanted about his little incident without having to worry at all about rumors spreading around about the city afterwards.
Finally, however, Ramon’s eyes flickered open, eventually leading up to the aching, alcohol guzzling man cautiously raising his throbbing head off of the wooden countertop, his vision still considerably blurry as he did so. At last, he managed to start gazing forwards, still unable to identify anything his head was pointed at in great detail, until his vision was able to clear itself fully. At this point, all Ramon could do was wait for when it did. What he was welcomed to upon this happening, however, could only cause a light sigh to escape the intoxicated bar patron’s throat, followed up nicely and naturally by a soft groan of: “Lemme guess…you’re gonna try and comfort me and help me get over my woes so I don’t get fully addicted and ruin my whole life from the bottle. Isn’t that right?”
“...you say all of that like it's a bad thing, y’know.” the black-and-pink-scaled, darker-haired-and-skinned, amber-eyed naga man on the other side of the bar counter replied. “...I mean, yeah, I’m not the boss of you, but wouldn’t you prefer to not ruin your life from the bottle?”
“Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuurngh…” Ramon positively groaned out in frustration, currently facing the reality that, ultimately, the naga man in front of him was, in fact, right.
“Name’s Arin, by the way. I’m the owner of this establishment, and I know half of the people who come here do so to drink their way out of their troubles.” Arin calmly addressed the drunken man. “But I’m just gonna tell you right here, you’ve just gotta take my word for it, it just doesn’t work. I see it over and over and over again in this business. They come in once and tell me they won’t come again, next thing I know they’ve become regulars.”
“So now you're gonna try and pry into my personal affairs to get to the root of the issue, huh?” Ramon immediately snapped back in slight annoyance.
“Well…I’m pretty sure you did just say out loud a while ago that some unidentified ‘he’ figure hated you. Did…something happen recently between you and this ‘he’?” Arin attempted to inquire.
“Well…*pppppffft* yeah, okay, maybe after what happened, ‘hate’ would be a bit of an understatement, but…man.” Ramon faintly sputtered out with an eye roll. “I mean I was just expecting he’d fucking…beat me up and leave me there, no way in hell I would’ve guessed he’d actually…nevermind.”
“.............well okay then!” Arin eventually responded in slight bewilderment. “Maybe I won’t try to ask anymore...but…I mean if you do want to calm down in a way that doesn't involve alcohol, I know a great way to do so!”
“UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGH! Yeah! I get it! Alcohol bad and all that stupid shit! I know! Just…fucking…clearly you’re trying to help me so just spill the beans already, won’t ya? What? Is? It?”
Giving a slight smile and a pleased nod knowing that Ramon at least consciously recognized the dangers of drinking, Arin took in a deep breath to prepare both himself and his client for what was necessarily gonna have to happen next.
“...well, there is always an initial hurdle first-timers gotta get over, but you see, the idea is that lots of people enjoy tight, secluded, warm places to calm down in when they’re trying to comfort themselves, so…”
“...on fucking God please don’t tell me this is what I think it is.”
     “...it…probably is.”
     “.........”
     “.........”
     “...fine.”
     “Realy?”
“Yeah! Fine! I mean I suppose having a positive experience with it would help me get over my negative experience with it, so whatever, move it along, and unhinge those snake jaws!”
“...oh…is…that what happened between you and-”
     “I SAID JUST OPEN IT!”
Promptly doing as he was told, Arin, though actually unable to unhinge his jaws, proceeded to stretch stretch them just about as wide as they could go in order to reveal to the sulking man currently pouting to himself under his breath his slickened, salivating, blackened snake maw. Arin’s tongue extended forwards just slightly, attempting to preemptively greet the incoming Ramon with its sliminess. Ramon, however, had a significantly different idea in mind, and, shakily lamoring up onto the table in order to do so, immediately shoved his head and upper body past the naga’s two little fangs deep inside the goopy, gaping chamber, forcing Arin to grasp ahold onto the man’s sides, in order to keep him from slipping out from gravity.
Ramon heaved out a stuttered sigh as Arin’s fingers shuffled around his lower body, before the entire maw and the contents within became lifted up slightly into the air, and subsequently tilted back for the slide. Ramon could feel his chin and chest gracefully slipping down with gravity’s pull, his head inching forwards towards the naga’s opened gullet.
Arin on the outside was able to feel a slight lump gently settling at the very back of his throat, the skin and muscle around the region expanding outwards just slightly in order to fit the circumference of the lodged head. Ramon, meanwhile, was currently focused on how the wiggling, dangling sack of flesh that was the uvula constantly brushed up against his back with each exhale. Ramon would’ve said something about the whole affair, but just before he opened his mouth in order to speak, a deep, squishy sound effect echoed all about the man’s ears as he suddenly felt himself being squelched forwards into the naga’s now-bulging throat.
As the rest of Ramon’s body naturally slid into the maw once his upper half was gulped into his throat, Arin was able as a result to gingerly close his previously opened jaws, and give a slight rubbing over the tight, protruding bulge he now possessed for just a second. Ramon on the inside was able to feel this going on from the inside, and once again would have planned to say something about it, if only he didn’t hear yet another wet gulping sound reverberating within the tight walls he now occupied, followed by the rest of his body joining his head and chest inside the naga’s esophagus. Now that he was fully ensconced by their walls, all that both the outside Arin as well as Ramon could do was simply sit back and let the squelching muscles do their thing. For Ramon’s part on the inside, however, he was internally forced to admit that being squeezed and massaged in this manner did indeed feel quite nice when he wasn’t being forced to do so against his will. Gingerly closing his eyelids and allowing his body to soak in the sensations happening around him, Ramon could feel a bunch of pent-up bodily tension being released with each push. He was soon able to pick up the sound of a heartbeat, however, since Arin was a naga, Ramon had absolutely no clue where his stomach was actually located, and as a result didn’t really bother to brace himself for the oncoming inevitable plunge.
Meanwhile, back on the outside, Arin had all but resumed his normal duties at the bar. Since no one else but him and Ramon was here, he was currently simply employed with the task of whipping down the counter, since he decided to save the dishes for last this time ‘round. Thus, Arin was quite perceptive of all the subtle minutia of growling being emitted from his guts, as well as the rhythmic motions of squeezing being performed upon the drunken Ramon, as he silently toiled in his work.
Back on the inside, Ramon had finally noticed the lower esophageal sphincter enter into his view. This meant he was going to be entering Arin’s human stomach now. Closing his eyes once again as he felt his head squeezing through the tight opening, the rest of Ramon’s body proceeded to follow suit, as he at last slipped into the growling, black stomach within.
Arin, of course, was also able to feel this going on, causing him to promptly gaze down towards his middle as his stomach bulged out nice and quickly. Subsequently placing both his hands upon the great, shifting gut, Arin was soon able to sense Ramon shifting about on the inside in order to get himself into a comfortable position. Ramon pushed up against the side of one wall as he attempted to sprawl his body out on his back and lay his limbs upon the sides of the churning, sloshing organ, and simply let his body bob up and down along with the flow, and let the motions rock him into comfort.
Arin, once he was sure that Ramon was settled, cautiously slithered his way over to the bar’s sink, which was currently overflowing with dirty dishes. Carefully turning on the faucet so that the oncoming stream wouldn’t be of a bothersome volume, Arin simply let out a faint sigh before beginning his work on the pile.
Ramon, meanwhile, was excessively comfortable, tucked away within the guts of the naga. Passively listening to the symphonious rumbles and groans as the organ shifted about in the abdomen, Ramon could feel the sloshing liquids and natural heat gradually lulling him into a state of sleepiness, something which was only egged on by the fact that it was, in fact, late at night.
Thus, as Arin only continued to scrub the day’s filthy glasses clean of their grime, Ramon continued to slip away into unconsciousness, and within a far, far, far, far more tranquil state of mind than he had been the first time he landed in someone’s stomach. Ramon didn’t know exactly how he was gonna feel upon waking up, however, what he did know in the moment was that he had not regretted letting the bar-owning naga gulp him down into his stomach like he had previously thought he might. This, he was surer than ever, would be a far better place to wake up than the floor of the bar, or the alleyway. He did have to admit as well, though he was currently unable to say it out loud, that this was, indeed, better than the bottle.

Rebirth
Feel like i gotta put an edgy title, even if I'm not feeling as edgy at this moment in time. its been a little while, a little over two years in fact, last i posted was August 7th 2022, now its August 30 2024.
I've graduated university now, and was lucky enough to have snagged a job before I finished that pays decent and has alright upward mobility. I'm wondering if I should feel happy now or if that will come later? it feels all a little too empty. Although I am not in the depths of despair that I used to always be in when I posted on here, i am feeling slightly empty on is this all life is now. I'm moving in with Hung next year, so theres that to look forward to, and also the Japan trip is finally happening, of which I have done my best to plan and organise, I realise now that if I want to do something, I should organise it, otherwise nobody will do it, since the people I tend to surround myself with are very low maintenance people who therefore aren't really planners much with the exception of like Kass I guess, who enjoys this sort of thing of being organised and planning for things. But I do have Japan to look forward to I guess, I am excited for that, but a part of me does wonder if all I will do now in life is just make money so that I can go on holiday, and then work, then go on holiday. I dont really have many aspirations to own a house or even relationship stuff much at the moment, though next year maybe ill try to date again to see if im any different to it, and if im alright to date now. Its more that in my future I see other people getting together with other people, and i feel like i should follow suit, like i should have myown person that im with too, since at a certain point of our lives i assume we wont see eachother as much since they'll be preoccupied with their significant others.
All this talk of is this all life amounts to and tangentially being related to that, the worth and happiness of a life made me go back and read an old manga that I really liked when i first read it back in the day called "I sold my life for ten thousand yen per year." which is about a guy who does just what the title says, he sells his remaining life til just three months, since he has nothing to live for but not a lot of money, so why not live a few months in luxury at least. I won't regurgitate the entire story but its worth a read again future Andrew if you're still there, thats quite touching and gets you thinking about the worth and happiness of a life.
This is probably the most mentally healthy I've ever typed into my blog, materialistically things are looking up for me, I'm gonna be making decent starting wage with benefits at a (allegedly) good company, Ill be doing hybrid so work from home some days and work in office other days. I have a group of friends online that i frequently join the voice calls daily to hang out and game if that occurs or watch things. These extend to real life too, seeing friends in real life and interacting with them. Its all going in a way, materialistically very well, and yet I can't help but feel, "is this it?". Like am I supposed to just do this for another 40 years til I retire, to then just rot away and die?
Something I did do this year which I really enjoyed was travelling, I went to morocco with oogin + HABS people which was an amazing short trip, a 8/10 experience could only be made better if we were there longer, paris with chrystal and josh 💀 was a 5/10 but mainly cause of being a third wheel of a couple that I don't think should be together, maybe I'll keep a record of their thing later if I can be bothered, and also went to the peak district to try outdoor climbing for the first time, and then to manchester recently for a wellness chec kinda thing for chrystal, since she always visited us but we never visited her but i said i wanted to, so i said fuck it ill organise it, when are you guys off and so 4 of us went up north to manchester for two days. But all this to say, I really do enjoy travelling, I finally understood why those hippie sorts of people spend their entire lives travelling, I used to think oh it must get so tiring and so boring so fast, wouldnt you want to just sit down and chill? but you can! you can sit down and chill underneath a blanket of stars, or sit by a warm fire, and just look out into the distant deserts of morocco. I really enjoy travelling and I hope to do a lot more this next year.
Something else i took up in the last two years is bouldering, its a hobby that i genuinely enjoy, I've been climbing for two years, on and off, (maybe like 6 months total where i didnt climb so technically one and a half years) but its what inspired me to then go outdoor bouldering with puru armaan and yossi which was a fun trip, though it was humbling how difficult it is! currently I can climb v4-v5 indoors but i could barely only climb V0+ outdoors, which is like beginner grading, which is pathetic 😭 hopefully next time will be better.
I'm not really here to say much else, If i think of something Ill post again soon, but its 8 am and ive stayed up all night to watch LE SSERAFIM's comeback "CRAZY" which is really fucking good. Thats another thing I've done in the last two years, is gone back to my kpop roots cept this time i have the disposable income to irresponsibly spend money on merch and albums for LE SSERAFIM. the music and obsession as a hobby has really helped though, it gets me through the hard times seeing the behind the scenes and watching the live streams and hearing them talk about their lives. Bias is Miyawaki Sakura since I already kinda was biased for her in IZONE when she streamed gaming content on youtube and made videos for gaming.
I would say to end this post that LE SSERAFIM and Bouldering funnily enough have saved me, in the last two years. Two years ago i was hurt fairly badly by people who i thought i was close to, though perhaps i never was since its an online friendship, how close can a online friendship be? obviously an online friendship can be very close, but it depends alot, and it seems perhaps this was not one of those times. I dont recall if i ever actually outlined what happened from my point of view as a record, so maybe ill do that. haha i always say ill write these things and never get round to doing it. it does help somewhat though, clear my thoughts by writing in this blog, so i really should do it more often, maybe now im more mentally well ill do it???? who knows. we shall see in the next one.
I shall leave with le sserafims latest song that got released 4 hours ago, which is the cuntiest thing i have heard in a while, and will defo be a bop to remember, and so future andrew!! relearn your roots!!! go back to listening to le sserafim and rest up!!!

Almost Job/Mom
2/9/24
I think I’m just angry. Angry and disappointed. I’m disappointed that even after so many emails back and forth, after having to reschedule the interview because of something on their end, that the job went nowhere. A part of me understands that they went forward with another candiet. They might have needed to fill the position quickly, but if that were the case you would think they would have scheduled an interview with me at the earliest opportunity. That would have been Tuesday. Instead, they picked Thursday and then rescheduled to Saturday due to conflicting meetings. Part of me wonders if that was about the person who decided to higher. I would think that they would have wanted to meet or at least talk with not over email to all applicants. Again, they could have been desperate but that just circles back to my previous point. I’m just disappointed. I really wanted the job. I finally had something to look forward to and the rug lining the stairs was just pulled from under me, sending me tumbling back down them. Dad mentioned the usual: it would be ok, that I'm still here (both him being someone I can talk to and that I’m still breathing) and all I could remember was that line from Hamilton. See I never thought that I would live past twenty. I always wondered why that line stands out to me. Part of me has always known why and after last November, well, I turn twenty this year. That other part of me wonders how long I’ll last until I snap and actually go for the kitchen knives.
I’m also angry. I’m angry at mom. When am I not upset with her in some way? This time I’m angry at her and a bit of myself because I went to her for comfort expecting something that wasn't a backhanded comment or a barbed wire phrase. She started out as understanding: that’s happened to me before, I can help you write a response. Then she played the: you’ve gotta keep applying to places, go in person to talk to them. Then she played what she thinks is her trump card: we’re broke as fuck. All that does is make me angry. Just last night, I watched her buy three sets of earrings and makeup she didn’t need. She’s used my makeup before both with and without permission. At least this time she asked before using my nail polish. I still haven't gotten it back though and I have no idea where it is. She always buying shit she doesn't need or have room for: new cloths, wall shelves she is never going to hang (they are on the floor behind the dining table with the boxes, we can bareilly use the damn thing), tickets to shows she really wants to go to but should not be buying because the money needs to go to something else. She’s been talking about not being able to pay off her credit card. She’s been talking about not knowing if she’ll be able to cover taxes. She says and does all this stuff then turns and tells me we're broke as if it's my fault. You think I don’t know we’re broke?! I literally watch her do all this shit and then she says it like it's my fault! There are so many things that I want to go and do! So many shows I want to go and see! And I can’t! And I know that! I may not be ok with it but at least I understand why! I have restraint! Yes I see clothes I want! I see shelving units and other helpful things that could be useful, and don’t even get me started on the things that I want to do before I die! I’m not complaining about the monetary reasoning as to why no! I’m complaining about bull shit laws about not being able to legally travel by yourself until twenty one! About not being able to get hotel rooms and bed and breakfasts because I’m still nineteen. I literally have only twenty dollars in my bank account right now! I have ten in savings! I’m not going anywhere because I don’t want to have to buy thirty dollars worth of gas that will only end up lasting a week! I have been eating less than I should have since December out of self deprivation! Partially because I know we can’t afford shit and because I hate my body shape. My new year's resolution was to exercise, to go on walks but I’m not! The nearest walking trails are all fifteen minutes away! That takes gas and gas takes money. I went on one walk when the new year started. One! And that was with dad and stepmother. I’m angry at mom because she is a hypocrite. She’s more nowadays than she is a mother.
I’m just angry. I’m disappointed in her. Society always paints women to be the backbone of everything. She’s not. I don't even know if she knows what that means sometimes. I’ve tried talking to both her and dad about societarian pressure. About peer pressure. Neither of them understand. Not really. The other day there was someone outside of Target asking for money. They couldn’t afford their rent that month. I felt so bad for them, not because I saw them, but because when I looked at them I saw my mom. I saw where she might end up if she keeps doing this. I saw where I might end up if I can’t get away from her and that scares me. I’ve talked about being seen as her, about being treated like all I’m supposed to be is another her. And I’m not! I don’t want to be! I can’t! Very few people know how to look at me and see someone else. But no matter how hard I try, I can’t distance myself from her. I can’t get away from her shadow. From her reflection. I used to not know why I would look in the mirror and try to see my day. Any features I shared with him. Anything! And now I understand why. Now I get it! And knowing does nothing.
Nothing changes. Nothing has changed no matter what I do. I’m stuck in this bullshit cycle where I feel like I’m living in her slipstream. I can’t keep doing this. I can’t keep living with her. I can’t talk to her about anything! If I do she either makes it about her or turns it into a backhanded barbwire phrase. If I keep living with her I may not actually live past twenty. I tried talking to dad about it, about moving. About getting anywhere else and his response was to get a job. And understand why. I get it, but he still doesn’t hear me. And I think maybe, maybe that’s because he managed to get away.

Streamer!Genshin Reacting to Character!(Y/N) Dying in Game
!Warning!: Major character deaths & angst
Characters: Diluc, Venti, Childe, & Zhongli
Diluc:
It was a race to get inside one of the bases of the Abyss Order to put a stop to whatever plans they were in the process of executing that could potentially put many lives in danger. Diluc was rather calm while playing though it would be a lie to say that it wasn’t a bit annoying that the route to the domain was timed
It was once inside the domain did things pick up fast as it seemed to be a fighting wave system which after beating the first two rooms there was a short scene where in the end Lisa and Amber stayed behind to hold off the incoming enemies so the rest of the group could go further. It seemed like forever doing some of the puzzles to unlock the doors to reach the next fight
In that fourth room after the defeat of hilichurls and abyss mages did suddenly a short cut scene appear to show the appearance of an Abyss Lector. As remembering how much he hated fighting this guy in the spiral abyss he already knew what he was in for; however that was until your character stepped forward with your weapon ready. Diluc was actually sad to have to leave you behind as he was hoping that you’d be one of the characters that went with him to the very end
“I think I’ve watched enough shows and movies to know what this could be leading up to.” He’d comment to his viewers as he finally reached the destination where the Abyss Herald was. Finishing the fight triggered another cutscene as the traveler’s sibling appeared and was making their small speech, asking if the lives of the “friends” the traveler made were worth losing
Diluc is watching with a straight face as he kinda expected this but the who was what he wasn’t sure about and truthfully the only one he’d be truly heartbroken about is your death, but they wouldn’t kill you now of all times right? Wrong; soon the cutscene finally came across where they had left you and you were leaning against the wall extremely injured with your weapon laying beside you. Diluc is frowning cuz he has to watch you die now
Listening to your final words as you spoke to no one Diluc would sulk in his chair a little. In the last moment before your eyes closed, if you mentioned something about not getting to tell his character your true feelings it is visible that Diluc looks like he wants to cry(but he doesn't). Once the screen showed the mission complete he’d grab the plush he had of your character and hold it looking at his camera. “Of all the characters I thought were going to die, I wasn’t ready for it to be (y/n).” At that point he’d probably call it a day from there but he’d still talk to his viewers as he probably would watch the tribute videos that fans had already made
Venti:
Everything was in chaos as it looked like archon war 2 was going to be taking place, but this time it was a war between the Abyss Order and the Archons. He was heading to Mondstadt to help and to check on you. Dvalin was flying around sending attacks at the abyss members. “Ah traveler there you are!” The sound of your voice as you landed before him; as weird as it was to see you in your archon robes was odd but you looked so good! After a short conversation you had gone flying off and it was time to get back to fighting
Things were looking good as it seemed like they were winning against the abyss order though it wasn’t over yet. It was until up in the air did a cutscene starting showing you and the traveler’s sibling fighting going at it. Venti is so captivated by how serious and cool you look fighting, but it all changed when the sibling landed a blow that caused you to fall from the sky ending up falling into the Whispering Woods
Venti couldn’t run fast enough to get to the woods to check up on you but when he did the first thing he saw was the sibling standing before you. He’s already sad and yelling at the sibling for hurting you though it seemed that now he was there the sibling went and disappeared revealing the real condition you were in. “No, no, no! This better not mean (y/n)’s dying.” He’d say in denial as he’s already starting to cry a little
“A-Ah Windblume h-haha… Sorry you have to see me like this.” Even in a moment like this you gave him such a cheesy grin until you seemed to grimace in pain. “Unfortunately it seems like… This is it for me. As long as the winds blow I will always be with you, so please watch over Mondstadt for me.” Your words were making Venti cry as it was like back in your story quest but only ten times worse. And to think it was already painful as it was your next words that did him in. “Maybe in another life we will find each other again and maybe then we can be together.”
Watching you start to glow until you turned into partials of light till nothing of you was left, Venti is devastated. The chat is crying with him as he’s saying how awful it was that his sibling had killed the love of his life! His viewers are going to send him fanart and fics to look at that was an alternative that you lived in the game
Childe:
It was a big fight with the confrontation of the Fatui Harbingers, facing off against one of the other stronger members that blocked the path to proceed to seeing the Tsaritsa. The boss’ first stage was fine; however during the second stage it seemed after losing a certain amount of health the damage that Childe was dealing significantly decreased.
It was when the cutscene started that Childe was already dreading the foul legacy form he’d be facing this time. You suddenly came out of nowhere and already in your foul legacy form yourself Childe is going crazy over how cool you look; he’s also swooning at the fact that you’ve come to his rescue. The fighting progressed until you landed a successful hit that weakened the other harbinger; however, at that same time the other harbinger managed to hit you with a powerful attack
Childe is screaming at the sight of your mask breaking while you fell to the ground. He’s so glad that his character is running over to check on you instead of the fight picking right up, but he’s already feeling the feels hit him hard cuz he hates seeing you hurt. Seeing you back to normal, the damage you sustained was really bad; then the worst thought came to his mind. “This-This better not be what I think it is,” he’s saying not looking away from the screen listening to you weakly talk
“Haha don’t give me that look sweetie, I couldn’t just let this be where your journey ends.” Hearing those words and the nickname you used for his character was sad. “To think we’d be able to travel together more, but hey… Promise you won’t stop fighting and could you look after my siblings for me.” Childe is literally crying now that the reality of the situation is clear. If he gets a choice of dialog to choose from he is going to pick the choice that says that he pinky promises
If your character smiled at the choice he wanted to smile but he’s also just sad, you were dying in his character's arms. If you had given a small love confession in the little bit of life that was in you, he’s going to ugly sob and once the fight was starting again he needs to pause by going into his bag
Immediately he goes getting his big plush of you and coming back to hug it and cleaning his tears with his sleeve before looking at the camera. “I wasn’t ready for this, my baby!” He was not expecting to be losing you; he figured that some characters would possibly die but you were the last character he thought would be killed off in the game. There’s Fs in the chat all around and the crying emote; it’s sad boi hours in this chili’s. He doesn't wanna do the fight but also he gotta avenge you so this last stage fight was for you. Afterwards he’s gonna go look at fanart and video edits
Zhongli:
After helping some of the other nations and their archon’s fend off the abyss order it was time he headed to Liyue to find you. Of course as usual it wasn’t going to be as easy as running around the harbor until he got word from Xiao that you were in Cuijue Slope. So he headed over to help you before anything seriously bad could happen to you
Getting to the open area there you were fighting against the sibling as you were even in your archon robes. Going in and interrupting the fight his sibling clearly looked annoyed and proceeded to try to get him to side with them which of course he didn’t. A Herald appeared to allow the sibling to get away which the fight with the Herald commenced
Just when Zhongli finished up the fight thinking he had won it strangely went to a cutscene as his character and you started to talk; however it was when the fallen Herald came out of nowhere about to attack his character but must to his surprise you shielded him not only taking the hit, but also using your elemental burst to finish off the enemy. Zhongli is frowning at how badly you were hurt as he already has a bad feeling this wasn’t going to end good; the traveler was helping you sit up after having fallen over
“I’m glad to see that you aren’t hurt my friend.” You said as you certainly have seen better days. “Sadly I believe my time has come… Do not be sad dear friend, I have lived many many years… As knowing you has been life changing. Though rocks change from erosion, know that no time will change how I felt about you.” Your words broke his heart as you had such a soft expression on your face as your body began to glow and before he knew it you turned into particles of light and disappeared. He probably wouldn’t cry at most maybe a tear but he is clearly upset about your passing in game and would take a break to talk to his viewers and maybe look at the fanart that surprisingly had been put out already

Harry finishes up the last touch on the virgin mojitos, adorning his work he did with the sugar-coated edge of the glass, feeling quite proud how he nailed it. He softly hums along the music that’s flowing from the record-player as he cleans up after himself, leaving the kitchen spotless, just when he hears his name called out.
“Harry? Can you help me?” Y/N’s voice comes from their shared bedroom and he is quick to drop everything to come to her rescue.
“Coming!”
He shuffles into the room, finding his very pregnant wife sitting on the edge of their bed, her favorite pair of heels at her feet that go well with the loose dress she is wearing. She has ditched wearing anything tight a while ago, feeling way more comfortable in baggy clothes since her bump started showing. He never tried to convince her to wear her usual clothes, he has read enough to know how much she goes through with her body image during pregnancy, so he just always wanted to make sure she feels comfortable over fashionable. Also, she looks breathtakingly beautiful to him regardless of what she is wearing. Or what she is not wearing…
Her eyes lift up to him as he appears in the room, she is leant back on one arm behind her while her other hand is cupping her bump.
“Can you please help me put them on?” she pouts and Harry is on his knees in front of her without a second thought. It’s not the first time she struggles to put her shoes on, but Harry doesn’t mind helping her do such mundane things, if anything, it just makes him feel involved, like he is able to take just a tiny part of the hard side of pregnancy away even if it’s just as small as putting on her shoes or shaving her legs in the parts where she can’t reach anymore.
“You sure you’ll be fine in heels all night, baby?” he asks, carefully sliding her slightly swollen feet into the heels, but they luckily still fit.
“Already packed a change, don’t worry,” she grins, her hand running up and down her stomach as Harry finishes up the task. Smirking up at her he leans forward and presses a gentle kiss to her bump, cupping the sides in his palms. Though he can’t wait to finally meet their little baby girl in just three short weeks, he gotta admit he’ll miss the bump.
Over the course of this pregnancy, he has grown to love this state of the woman he is in love with. See her go through the changes, experience new things and grow a new life in her own body, it’s been a privilege to be by her side through the journey and Harry can’t wait to see her do it again whenever the time is going to be right.
Standing up he helps her to her feet, she smoothes out the soft fabric of the dress that reaches just above her knees.
“You look amazing, baby,” he smiles, kissing her lips softly.
“Thank you. What time is it, should we leave?”
“Let’s drink our cocktails and then we can leave,” Harry nods. They move out to the kitchen and she squeals in happiness seeing the mojitos she requested from him earlier.
“These look so nice!” she gasps doing a little happy dance as she takes the one Harry hands her. “Is yours alcohol free too?”
“Of course.”
“You know you can drink, right? I don’t mind it.”
“I know. But I don’t want to,” he smiles down at her, clinking his glass against hers. “Cheers, baby.”
She smiles up at him stealing a quick kiss before they both taste the drink.
“Mm, this is amazing, H,” she nods to herself, gulping from the cocktail again and again.
“Yeah? You like it?”
“Yes. Can’t wait to have one with actual alcohol in it,” she smirks making him chuckle. He presses a soft kiss to the top of her head before chugging down his own drink.
Not so much later they get in the car and head over to one of their friends’ New Year’s Eve party they’ve been invited to. Harry was hesitant to accept the invitation at first, knowing well she would be close to full term at this point, but she seemed too excited to go out, something she hasn’t done too much lately. Pregnancy has made her way too tired most of the time to even leave the house, her natural habitat became their king sized bed, wearing mostly Harry’s jumpers with just her knickers.
Upon arriving to the party that’s held in a penthouse, Harry keeps a hand on her lower back at all times, making sure she is okay, whether it’s about needing something to drink, to eat or if she decides to change her shoes. That happens quite fast, barely over an hour into the evening Y/N makes her way to one of the plush couches and Harry gladly helps her get rid of the torturous heels and put on her ballerina shoes.
It’s past eleven when he first lets her out of his sight, only so she could go to the bathroom, though he asks if she needs help with that as well.
“I think I’ll manage,” she smiles at him, hand sliding to the back of his neck to pull him down for a quick kiss.
His eyes cautiously follow her disappear down one of the hallways, nursing the same soda he opened an hour ago. He returns his attention to the conversation they were in before her leaving and barely notices that she is taking way too long in the bathroom. When he realizes that she hasn’t returned, he excuses himself from the little group to go and find his wife. Dodging anyone who tries to pull him into another conversation, he makes his way down the hallway he last saw Y/N waddle away. It’s not his first time here, so he knows exactly where to find the bathroom, however, his eyes fall on something that diverts from his destination.
Walking past one of the many bedrooms, he notices an all too familiar pair of slightly swollen feet propped up on the edge of a bed through the door that’s ajar and a smile falls on his lips right away as he pushes it further open. Lying comfortably on top of the king sized bed, there is Y/N resting on her side, the only position she can sleep these days, hugging one of the giant pillows to herself, snoozing adorably.
Harry knew she would get tired way too early, though she was convinced it wouldn’t be a problem, staying up past midnight, yet here she is, sleeping the night away while the party is still buzzing outside. Her shoes are abandoned at the leg of the bed, purse tossed to the nightstand and Harry swears she probably came in to just lie down for a bit because her back was starting to hurt, but eventually fell asleep.
Walking inside he closes the door behind him, the bedside lamp illuminating the room enough for him to navigate to the other side of the bed as he kicks his shoes off. He couldn’t care less about all the people outside, it doesn’t matter that they probably should be out there mingling, right now he just wants to hold his pregnant wife and have a nap with her, regardless of the fact that they might miss midnight.
As soon as he lies down behind her, his arm circles around her, hand coming to rest just above her popped out belly button and though he tried to be as careful as possible, she still wakes up, blinking at him over her shoulder a little groggily.
“Harry? I fell asleep,” she whispers, partially to herself, rather than to him.
“I know baby. It’s alright.”
“M’sorry, I just came in here to have a breather, but I just felt so tired,” she adds, yawning into her words at the end.
“Don’t worry. Wanna stay a little longer or do you wanna go out?”
“How much time do we have until midnight?” she asks, furrowing her eyebrows before her eyes go wide. “Wait, did I sleep through midnight?”
“No, you didn’t,” he chuckles softly, kissing her shoulder. “Want me to set an alarm for us?”
“Please,” she nods, dropping her head back to the pillow. He fishes his phone out of his back pocket, setting an alarm ten minutes before midnight so they have a little over twenty minutes to rest before they have to emerge from their temporary bedroom.
Dropping the phone behind him to the mattress, he places back his palm to her bump, gently caressing it as she leans back against his body, enjoying the warm embrace of him. They both doze off soon, the party outside is long forgotten as they enjoy some alone time, but those twenty minutes go by faster than they wanted it to and they are shaken up from their shallow sleep by the sound of his phone’s alert.
“Ah fuck,” he slurs, blindly tapping around the mattress behind him until his hand finally finds the phone and he turns it off.
“Why am I so tired?” she breathes out rolling to her back, staring up at the ceiling with sleepy eyes. Harry’s eyes wander down on her body and he can’t help the smile forming on his lips seeing her bump towering high. He is still struggling to wrap his head around the fact that there’s a tiny baby girl in there, his baby girl.
“Because you are growing our baby. That needs a lot of energy,” he mumbles kissing her tummy softly, running his hand up and down on it.
“Do you think she’ll look more like you or me?” she asks excitedly, tangling her graceful fingers through his hair as he presses his cheek gently against the side of her bump.
“I hope she’ll take more after you,” he smiles at her.
“Really?”
“Of course. But like, with a hint of me,” he adds, making her chuckle.
“I want her to have your eyes. I love them,” she muses and reaching out she runs a finger delicately through his left eyebrow, bringing it down the side of his face until it reaches his lips. He turns his head slightly, pressing a kiss to the pad of her finger, tugging her smile wider with the softness of his actions.
They hear the buzzing increase outside, so they figure the countdown is close. Though the both know they should be heading out to be with the rest of the guests, neither of them moves.
“I’m a little afraid though,” she whispers as the smile falls from her lips.
“Why?”
“I don’t know. It’ll be weird that it won’t be just the two of us anymore.”
“Do you… regret…?” he implies hesitantly, a little afraid of her answer even though he knows it.
“Of course not,” she breathes out with a soft smile. “I wanted this. We both wanted, right?” Harry nods at her question. “I just… I’m a little afraid we will lose… us. You know what I mean?”
“I think I do,” he nods again, pushing himself up before he scoots closer, caging her between his arms on the bed as he holds himself up above her. “And I promise you I will never stop working on us. I’ll try my best to keep these sparkles alive for as long as we live.”
“So you still feel the sparkles?” she asks with a shy smile, hands sliding to the back of his neck as she starts playing with his curls.
“Of course I do,” he smirks.
“Even after spending five years with me, you still haven’t gotten bored of me?”
“I could never,” he chuckles shaking his head dramatically, making his curls brush against her forehead.
“Yeah?” she giggles. “Not even when I’m making you watch Big Hero 6 for the millionth time?”
“Not even then,” he assures her. He could never say no to her pouty look whenever she is trying to make him watch it again, because it’s her favorite Disney movie of all times. If anything, he cherishes the moments when she is all cuddled up to his side and quotes the lines perfectly, eyes shining so brightly. He would do anything to make her happy.
“Ten! Nine! Eight!” The countdown begins outside, yet they still don’t move. Staring at each other, they preserve this precious moment, one of the last ones where they are on their own. Her hands go to cup his cheeks, her thumb running along the soft skin under his eyes.
“I love you. So much,” he breathes out, closing his eyes for a short moment to enjoy her soft touch.
“Seven! Six! Five! Four!”
“I love you too,” she whispers, getting lost in his eyes once they lock on hers again.
“Three! Two! One! Happy New Year!”
“Happy New Year, my love. I can’t wait to see what this year brings for us.”
“Happy New Year, baby,” she smiles, pulling him down for a sweet and appreciative kiss, the first one of the year.
They drag the moment a little longer, enjoying the sparkles that are still clearly there, before they pull back, grinning at each other like crazy.
“We should head back, don’t we?”
“Yeah, probably.”
“Can we leave soon though? I don’t think I can stay awake much longer.”
“Of course,” he chuckles pecking her lips one last time before he scoots to the edge of the bed to get off of it.
“Harry?” she calls out and when his eyes return to her frame, she is still lying in the same position.
“Love, we really shouldn’t stay any longer in here,” he huffs, eyes soft on her, but she shakes her head.
“It’s not that. I think… I think I need some help getting up,” she admits chuckling.
“Oh right,” he mumbles shuffling over to her side to grab her hands and gently pull her up until she sits on the edge of the bed. He kneels down without a second thought, putting on her shoes, making her smile. “There,” he breathes out, helping her to her feet. She circles her arms around his neck, pulling him as close as possible with her bump.
“You are going to be such an amazing dad, Harry,” she breathes out kissing him delicately.
“I hope so,” he chuckles nervously, his hands squeezing her hips gently. “Come on, let’s schmooze a little longer so we can go home and sleep.”
“That’s the best thing you said tonight,” she sighs dramatically, making his eyes go wide.
“Oh really? That was the best?”
“Just kidding!” she chuckles pinching his cheek before adding in a mumble: “Kinda.”
“You’re lucky you are pregnant, I wouldn't let this slide otherwise,” he shakes his head, taking her hand as they head towards the door.
“Oh, but you love me too much to get mad at me, right?”
Smirking he opens the door and holds it open for her.
“I do love you a lot.”

FLUFF
since baekhyun knows how to make scented candles, he creates one for you as a birthday present with your favorite fragrances.
every entry in mark’s diary involves fond thoughts about you.
taemin kisses you more than his cat kkoongie on a daily basis so let that sink in. his smooch obsession is getting out of hand.
lucas, having giant fingers after all, learns how to knit in order to make you a warm scarf. he’s still a bit clumsy with it and had to call kun for advice, but the result is surprisingly proper and quickly becomes your favorite item. it’s a little huge but well, he thinks in his dimensions. lucas’ next project is a beanie.
ten overwhelms you with pet names. in fact, he seemingly seems to come up with a new one each day.
kai is a candlelight dinner, rose petals and music kinda guy. he does every old-school thing in the book.
taeyong can cuddle endlessly in bed. he just doesn’t wanna leave.
lucas gladly shares his sweaters. they’re ginormous so, perfect cuddle material.
baekhyun is already a fool. so — when he falls in love, he becomes an even bigger fool. or, the contrary happens: he becomes dead silent around his partner because he’s so enthralled. he can take this more seriously than you think.
mark likes to write little cards and many many texts to express his love.
lucas is the type who can help you put on your jeans when they were shrinking a bit too much in the dryer. he’s pretty sexy like that and things can get really touchy.
cheesy fucking kai, and there’s only one guy who would do this, has actually lowered himself over a puddle once so you would have a bridge. brushed it off like a daily workout rep.
not one shower missed without baekhyun joining you. yes, it’s not always sexy time, he likes it when you shampoo his hair and whisper sweet nothings. and obviously: it’ll all devolve to a laughing fit.
taeyong is the type who wants to be proposed to.
taemin will get a motorcycle license and take you for a frequent ride. he loves getting those kind of back hugs.
both ten and lucas are great at making bracelets. wayv’s dorm is fully equipped with charms, strings, and pearls, so expect matching ones for you.
we’ve seen it, that one’s his favorite move. kai wraps his hand around your shoulder when you walk together.
mark will ALWAYS share his melon.
making you swoon on a DVD evening is lucas’ favorite hobby. he will buy you the most sugary-sweet romance movies. he will often browse streaming sites to select the latest sentimental plots. all these dramas seem to have a male lead who is suspiciously tall and lanky.
if you allow him, taeyong customizes your white tees with his cute drawings.
since taemin swims in money thanks to his profession as the god of kpop (yes, this is a registered job name because i say so), he can fulfill you any wish. he’s stingy and pouty when the shinee hyungs can pay, and the motherfucker baekhyun is even richer since his albums have been taking off so he opens his mochi wallet when superm is gathered, but you... are a different case. taemin will humbly empty his entire pockets when he overhears you gushing over something. there’s a voice in his mind going: must splurge!!
mark loves christmas, you establish an annual tradition to stage a whole couple evening.
baekhyun likes to play charades and especially do karaoke with you. he’s always cutely wiggling his butt and dances like a drunk uncle. he hits the high notes anyway and makes sure you score 100 points.
taeyong can make out with you while at the same time making sure that the milk doesn’t get burned on the stove. kiss’n’stirr multitask tyong alert. gotta make sure the cocoa is served in time, you know.
all the members enjoy playing board games. yep, imagine the fun and sheer chaos.
lucas has the funniest laugh ever indeed. he’ll react to all your jokes, no matter how lame they might be. intensely reassuring.
taemin’s hand is basically glued to yours.
taeyong and mark are the kinds of boyfriends that spoil their partner with skincare. fancy a nice face massage with a nice fragrant oil?
baekhyun has been baking heart-shaped pizzas ever since you started dating. he just can’t make them round anymore.
mark will join you on anything you’re currently bingewatching.
kai sometimes — only half-jokingly — goes down on both knees bowing forward with his hands on the ground just to show how much he wants to thank you. in case you didn’t notice: this guy treats you like a deity.
ten usually gets confused glances from the other members whenever he gets the current date wrong: he simply loses track of time with you.
lucas makes a habit of buying you flowers every other week. but on unpredictable occasions, and he arranges them in places you’d never expect.
taemin will build you a weird-looking snowman to make you laugh, and give it an even stranger name. ten will build one that looks like you. kai doesn’t build snowmen, he just stands there challenging you to throw snow balls at him.
mark will hang out with you at the beach constantly bringing his guitar. he’ll serenade you all the time.
returning from three months of touring, baekhyun has once climbed your balcony when your parents were in the other room. yep, he was that desperate to see you. somebody give this man a rope and helmet.
taeyong writes down heartfelt confessions on 365 folded slips of paper so you can open one every day. your reactions will range from ‘awwh!’ to straight-up tears.
ten does regular couple yoga with you. a mildly challenging form, not the circus acrobat version. he’ll do the difficult parts anyway. you can pretzel this guy up, he’ll do anything to make you laugh.
when it rains you hook your arm around his, and lucas always holds the umbrella. even the wildest gush of wind can’t make it turn inside out. you arrive home entirely dry. xuxi is so cute, he’s also a great source of cooling shadow in the summer without even trying.
taemin’s skinship overdrive doesn’t stop with endless hand-holding, back hugs and kisses. he wants to lay down in your lap whenever he can. he looks damn pretty with his hair splaying there. if you work on your laptop, you can pretty much count to ten and he’s already nestled there.
kai does pushups with you on his back. it’s a staple. each time he does one, he says ‘i love you’. he increases his count every day.
NSFW
it’s no secret that taeyong is great at acting or pulling off any outfit and costume. expect roleplay of the finest kind — literally. he looks good in a firefighter uniform. you’ll be burning up pretty much automatically.
taemin can’t keep his tongue in. it’s terrible. he’s always in the mood for head. his sloppy noises are the absolute worst, it turns you on way too fast.
lucas had some major problems finding condoms that fit him.
ten and taemin are so switchy, they have an unresolved power struggle going on. begs for a dominant third party to help them out.
kai owns expensive latex gear.
baekhyun may be the king of vocals and breath technique, but if you push him far enough he does get hoarse.
taemin often jokes how kai will one day break his dick from fucking too hard.
meanwhile, mark’s dick is already falling off – from fucking too often. this guy has some major hormones going for him. no surprise, a guy who can promote in four kpop groups at the same time is a stamina king.
taeyong likes eating pussy with another party involved. three’s a crowd my friend. sometimes it’s taemin who unleashes his spit waterfall power, sometimes it’s baekhyun who preoccupies himself with nibbling at the inner thigh while taeyong digs in.
taemin owns the most underwear.
mark takes valerian drops because he is so nervous in bed. it never really goes away, it’s his nature.
taeyong keeps a lube collection. a different flavor for all occasions. he likes associating certain scents with specific body parts.
kai has a heels kink. he literally goes wild over it.
taemin likes to have sex with favorite glasses on.
taeyong and kai are the most likely to cry during sex. baekhyun as well if you rough him up enough.
mark gets rock hard the fastest, followed by kai. he’s a grower.
taeyong gets the best inspiration for a song when he gets a casual dick riding.
taemin watches extremely x-rated erotic thrillers and bdsm flicks that are heavy on the plot. he gets more invested in the characters and actors than you think. since his japanese is amazing? of course he also owns a giant 90s hentai collection.
when he’s jerking off, baekhyun chokes himself. a) because he’d make too much noise otherwise and b) because asphyxiation is his favorite thing.
kai feels pleasure in his every cell. he cums the hardest. and, as you can expect, his body expresses it the most extremely, accurately, passionately. if you’ve seen it even once, you’ll never look at him the same again.
taemin has less experience than his discography claims, but more than you’d think. he researches sexual techniques as well. you can brace yourself.
mark has not just a tiger inside, but a freak inside, waiting to be unleashed.
sex while gaming is a go-to activity for baekhyun.
lucas has the best stamina when it comes to getting head.
taemin throws his head back during sex. and no, he doesn’t T-pose. i’m kidding — of course he does. but only when he’s on his back.
taeyong tends to grip a pillow when he cums.
or he humps one when he’s by himself.
ten has the best taste in sexy time playlists.
baekhyun has the best taste in singing his own playlist along.
oh, the things kai has bought at a gas station at 3AM.
baekhyun sucks strap the best. he can open his mouth the widest, drools a lot, and makes the best noises unsurprisingly.
how to turn on lee taemin? he likes getting slapped.
since he’s the most avid and most diverse eater, lucas’ sperm tastes the best. he’s shove 50 fruits into his system just to give you a sweet experience.
mark is absolutely a starfish.
kai wears fishnet tops if you fancy it.
curiously, baekhyun out of all people doesn’t announce when he’s cumming. you’ll hear it, though.
taeyong’s dildo collection is one for the books.
taemin has visited a pro dominatrix a couple times. needless to say, he was the #1 favorite client at the dungeon. having fully submerged into a fantasy world, taemin was one whip crack away from falling in love with the mistress. but then covid happened and the venue closed.
mark’s dick looks really pretty.
taemin can grind on the strap at every humanly possible angle. he’s almost always ready to take it. he carries a prep kit.
kai — that fucker — knows how to make you wet the most with his bare hands. prepare for the thigh ride of your life, too.
taeyong, baekhyun, and taemin have the best arches. kai is coming for the top three as well. ten’s arch is so good, it can’t be considered one anymore.
baekhyun knows every adult movie out there. theoretically, nothing can shock him. in reality, he melts in your hands.
taeyong is so sexually active with you, he has quit eating garlic.
kai will exploit your muscle kink in any way he can.
taemin, being a devil, has that one button on his phone that he can press when you go out for dinner. he’s OBSESSED with getting you off. once you head home, it’s basically running down your thighs.
ten has once opened a condom with scissors to scare away a date that grew weird on him by the time it got to the do.
lucas is too tall for doing missionary normally.
this will surprise nobody: mark is great at constantly keeping up the dirty talk.
baekhyun’s car is sort of like a brothel on wheels. he can’t count how many times he got down and dirty in there. he cleans it all up by himself.
kai can technically grip you the hardest but he’s the gentlest and great at caressing the whole body.
taemin has the easiest time saying what precisely he wants. he is also the best people reader — most your wishes he can pretty intuit. taemin observes your interests well.
ten likes his hair pulled and makes angelic noises when you do so.
baekhyun likes camgirls and erotic chats with strangers online. he spends a lot of money for nsfw internet encounters.

big brain thot: wheezie being the one to get rafebarry together👀👀
“wheeze, you can’t just show up here like this.”
she hasn’t even gotten off her bicycle yet, helmet still in place and everything. she looks up at rafe with big eyes, rolling them as slowly and dramatically as humanly possible.
“i just did,” wheezie points out, unclipping her helmet and setting it in the front basket of her bike.
rafe eyes her warily, then relaxes a bit. his eyes flicker back towards the trailer. “how’d you even know i’d be here?”
“topper,” she tells him simply, shrugging.
“topper?”
another overly-dramatic eye roll. “yes, topper. he came by looking for sarah and i asked him if he knew where you were. i need help with something.”
“and topper told you i’d be here?” rafe asks, brows raised.
topper is a lot of things, but is he the type of person to send a kid to a coke dealer’s trailer? no, absolutely not.
“i encouraged him,” wheezie replies, a little too vague for rafe’s liking. he narrows his eyes and she sighs. “fine, i kicked him in the crotch until he gave it up. happy?”
rafe snorts at the mental image.
wheezie finally climbs off her bike, standing in front of rafe with her arms crossed. “so, are you going to help me or not?”
he really doesn’t want to say yes. but he’s sort of always had a soft spot for wheezie - she’s one of two people who don’t make him feel completely homicidal.
(the other is sitting back in the trailer, smoking a joint and watching some boxing match on his old as shit tv. the thing has antennas, for fuck’s sake.)
rafe glances back at the trailer again, then turns back to wheezie, scrubbing a hand over his face. “fine. but you can’t come inside, wheeze, i’m serious.”
“why, because of drugs?” wheezie snorts, flicking her hair over her shoulder. “please. i’m pretty sure you smoked weed in my room when i was like, five.”
“that’s not the point,” rafe huffs, his fuse shortening ever-so-slightly. “just tell me what you want.”
for the first time since her arrival, wheezie looks mildly uncomfortable. she bites her lip, looking towards the treeline.
“i want to learn how to fight,” she says, and her voice sounds so small that rafe sort of feels… bad.
which is like a new milestone or whatever, so this is sort of a big moment for him.
“why do you need to learn how to fight?”
wheezie doesn’t say anything for a long stretch. then, her cheeks get red, and the words burst out of her. “i’m getting picked on at school, alright? this girl keeps saying she’s going to beat me up after class and i can only hide from her for so long, you know?”
rafe is mildly taken aback, never figuring wheezie for the type to get bullied. she always seemed self-assured and well adjusted, with a sizable group of friends and an active social life. for a middle schooler, anyway.
“what’s her name?” rafe asks, indignant on his sister’s behalf.
if he had to choose a sister to be the target of bullying, it’d definitely be sarah. wheezie, on the other hand, is just a kid. and if someone is threatening to kick her ass, rafe sure as hell is going to find out who.
“i’m not telling you her name, rafe,” wheezie says. “i don’t want you going and knocking her door down to threaten her or whatever. i want you to teach me how to fight so i can hold my own.”
rafe would probably just kill the kid, not threaten her, whoever she is. but he doesn’t tell this to wheezie, biting his tongue for once.
he rocks back on his heels, then sighs, and beckons for wheezie to follow him into the trailer.
wheezie throws her arms up as if to say fucking finally, following rafe inside.
barry is still smoking on the couch, but when he sees wheezie trailing after rafe, he has the presence of mind to put the joint out with an awkward cough.
“you gonna tell me who your little friend is, country club?”
“i’m his sister, wheezie,” she says before rafe can speak, rolling her shoulders back and holding barry’s gaze steadily.
“wheezie?” barry repeats, then laughs, wagging his finger in her direction. “you funny, kid.”
wheezie gives rafe a look, clearly judging him for his choice of company.
“jury’s still out on you,” wheezie tells barry, eyeing him.
barry actually throws his head back when he laughs this time, and rafe can’t help but eye the line of his throat, his mouth going a little dry.
the worst part is, wheezie notices him staring. she raises a brow at rafe. he just coughs and looks away, regretting every decision he’s made in the last ten minutes.
“look, she wants to learn how to fight,” rafe tells barry. “i figured two heads would be better than one?”
“or you just a pussy and know you can’t beat nobody’s ass, rafe,” barry says, reclining back on the sofa, staring at him through heavily-lidded eyes.
“neither can you,” rafe reminds him.
always reminding him. where rafe has failed, barry has too. rather consistently, as a matter of fact.
“fair ‘nough,” barry says after a stretch, leaning forward again. “two heads, then.”
wheezie coughs, and they both turn to look at her. she gives them a bored look. “are you two done having a moment? or do you still need a minute? because i can step outside if- ”
“shut up, wheeze,” rafe groans, pushing her towards the couch.
they spend the next hour and a half discussing fighting techniques, and the cardinal rules of fighting. the ones rafe and barry abide by, anyway.
there aren’t many. they spend the majority of the time discussing technique.
when wheezie gets sick of listening to them yammer on about the different types of headlocks, she starts to get restless.
“oh my god, i didn’t come for the rules of fight club, alright? will one of you just show me how to punch this bitch in the face?”
both barry and rafe shut up immediately, barry’s mouth dropping open in mild surprise.
rafe just snorts, mumbling fair enough under his breath.
and that’s how rafe ends up watching barry do some sort of shadow boxing with wheezie in the living room. rafe re-lights the joint, watching the scene before him in amusement.
“no, kid, you ain’t gotta do all that fancy shit with your legs,” barry is saying at one point, then demonstrates some sort of kick for her.
rafe forgets sometimes that barry has military training, and despite the fact that he gets his ass beat on a regular basis, he’s a pretty damn good teacher.
the joint is long gone by the time wheezie looks at her watch, cursing.
“shit. rose is gonna kill me,” wheezie mutters, fumbling for her phone.
“just tell her you’re staying at a friend’s,” rafe suggests. “it’s too dark for you to bike back anyway.”
“you could always drive me, you know,” wheezie reminds him. then, her eyes flicker down to what’s left of the joint (basically, the filter) and backtracks. “well, he could.”
she’s pointing at barry, and barry shrugs.
rafe, however, finds himself wanting wheezie to stay. dare he say it, he might’ve actually missed his sister.
he’s pretty sure he’ll regret it later, but regardless he says, “we’ll get you something to eat and you can crash here if you’re too tired to go home after.”
something to eat ends up being freezer-burnt pizza rolls, but wheezie doesn’t complain. she eats her food while scrolling through her phone, glancing up at rafe and barry every now and then.
they’re conversing quietly about a drug deal they have set up later, a big one. rafe doesn’t think wheezie is listening, but he also doesn’t notice the way she keeps glancing up at them, her eyes flickering between them with an unreadable look on her face.
and then, out of nowhere, “are you guys dating?”
rafe looks at her sharply and he sees barry do the same out of the corner of his eye. barry’s mouth had shut so quickly that his teeth clacked together, and rafe can see him rubbing at his jaw.
“what the hell, wheeze?”
wheezie raises her hands in mock-surrender, but still rolls her eyes. “it’s just a question, geez. but thanks for the answer.”
“the fuck is she talkin’ about?” barry asks, his gaze flickering between rafe and wheezie.
“you two,” wheezie explains slowly, looking almost bored. again. rafe is starting to think he’s had a bad influence on her. “you’re dating, right? like that’s why you’re always here, right?”
the latter question is directed towards rafe, and he feels his stupid cheeks betray him, burning red.
“oh, right. you’re men, of course you haven’t talked about it,” wheezie sighs, then stands up and brushes invisible crumbs off her shorts. “well, i conveniently have to use the bathroom, so. use this time wisely, i guess?”
then wheezie disappears from the small kitchen, leaving rafe and barry sitting in thick, palpable silence.
“so… what the fuck just happened?” rafe asks when he can’t take the uncomfortable silence any longer, pointedly not looking at barry.
when barry shifts in his seat, rafe can feel it, and he realizes all at once just how close they’re sitting.
“she thinks… “ barry trails off, shifting in his seat again.
“that we’re dating,” rafe finishes, swallowing around the golf ball-sized lump that has mysteriously appeared in his throat.
rafe can feel barry looking at him. he can feel the heat of his gaze, and wow, wheezie is taking a really long time in the bathroom.
“that what we been doing, country club?” barry asks, and rafe looks over at him so quickly that his neck pops.
rafe searches barry’s face for any trace of humor, but comes up empty.
they’ve been practically living together for months, ever since rafe gave up trying to please ward and joined barry’s little side business. and if he really thinks about it, they have lapsed into something almost nauseatingly domestic.
it’s like. like rafe’s been in this weird, fucked up relationship this whole time, and he’s just now realizing it. and realizing, at the same time, that he doesn’t want it to end now that wheezie has gutted them both and laid everything out in the open, where neither of them can hide.
jesus fucking christ, is he in love with barry? barry the drug dealer?
well, rafe supposes that’s what he would call himself now, too, so. maybe it makes some sort of sense after all.
“i don’t think so, but i think we should now,” rafe finally says. he doesn’t know why he says that last bit, it just sort of slips out before he realizes what he’s saying.
but he doesn’t take it back either.
barry is too quiet next to him. the silence goes on for far too long, and rafe is starting to debate internally whether or not he should dump wheezie’s body in the swamp or somewhere off shore.
finally, barry speaks. “startin’ to think you may be onto somethin’, rafe cameron.”
“so is that a yes?” rafe huffs, already feeling exposed enough as it is. he doesn’t need barry speaking in shades of gray.
suddenly, there are fingers wrapping around his jaw, gentler than rafe would’ve anticipated, and then barry is turning rafe’s head and kissing him.
like, really kissing him. rafe feels like he’s being turned inside out, his insides shifting and adjusting, rearranging and adapting to make room for barry.
it’s not a particularly long kiss, but it’s sure as hell the best one rafe has experienced in his life.
“they teach you that in the army?” rafe asks when barry pulls away, aiming for nonchalant but failing due to the heavy rise and fall of his chest. and the fact that he can’t stop staring at barry’s mouth.
barry just smacks the back of rafe’s head, shoving him lightly. “get the fuck out my kitchen, country club.”
rafe is about to respond when the bathroom door opens, and wheezie pokes her head out.
“ugh, thank god you’re finally done. you should invest in a bathroom fan, you know,” wheezie tells barry, “i could literally hear everything.”
she shudders and gags, barry laughs, and rafe vaults himself out the nearest window.
well, he tries to. barry catches him by the waist easily, dragging him back into his seat. wheezie just rolls her eyes, pinching the bridge of her nose.
“okay, well, since you’re done being a drama queen, i think i’d like that ride home now.”

Liam- Badass
A/N: This one has been in my ask box for a really long time, but I hope you guys enjoy it! I’ve been rewatching season 6, and Liam has grown on me a lot as a character!
Request:  Hi can you plz do a review where (based in season 6 episode 14 where everyone Is judging Liam and all that) and the reader is trying to be nice to him and be his friend when no one else will but Nolan has a crush on her and that is another reason he wants Liam to change so she can she the “monster” he is thx❤️❤️😘
“Find anything interesting?”
You jumped. The voice had startled you as it came from behind a library shelf. When you turned, a pair of blue eyes caught yours through an empty space between books.
“Sorry,” Nolan Holloway apologized, smiling sheepishly as he came around to your aisle. “I wasn’t trying to scare you.”
“It’s fine,” you told him. “I was just trying to find another copy of the bio textbook for Liam. He forgot his.”
Nolan glanced back toward the collection of tables in the middle of the school library. One was occupied by Liam, Mason and Corey, with a single empty seat waiting for you.
“Study group?” he asked.
“Sort of,” you told him. “It was kind of spontaneous.”
He nodded. “You know, I don’t really get why you hang out with those guys. Mason and Corey, I sort of understand, but Liam? He just seems like he’s hiding something.”
You raised your eyebrows. It wasn’t the first time someone had questioned your friendship with Liam because of his temper, but Nolan seemed to be talking about something else entirely.  “What do you mean?”
“You have to notice all the weird stuff that goes on around here, right?”
“I think everyone does.”
“Yeah, so haven’t you noticed that they’re always at the center of it all?”
“Not really, no,” you told him. “You sure you’re not imagining things? The bio exam is coming up and I don’t think anyone is getting much sleep…”
You trailed off as you noticed he was still staring at your friends. You were about to just back up and leave when he turned to you.
“I’m not sleep-deprived. I just pay attention. I pay attention to you too, you know.”
He had this strange, intense look in his eyes, and you were suddenly uncomfortable.
“Okay,” you agreed, struggling to keep a polite smile on your face. “Well, I’ve gotta get back to studying so…”
You trailed off and turned, quickly walking back to your table.
“There aren’t any more books,” you told Liam.
“That’s fine. We can just share...hey, are you okay?”
Liam had seen Nolan getting a little too close to you over by the bookshelves. He knew he had a tendency to be a little overprotective, and, as Mason had also pointed out, a little too jealous. Maybe he didn’t have a right to be, but there were many times that he couldn’t help it. He had heard the way the other lacrosse players talked about you in the locker room.
Nolan himself had said a few disgusting things when he didn’t think Liam had heard him. Though he couldn’t confront his teammate outright, he made sure to check him extra hard at practice.
Maybe that was why he had been so suspicious as he watched Nolan breathe down your neck while you searched for an extra textbook. Maybe it also had something to do with how much Liam cared for you, and the fact that Nolan seemed to be up to something worse than getting into your pants.
You nodded as you sat down at the table. “Yeah, I’m okay. It’s just...I don’t know. Do you ever get the feeling like something bad is about to happen?”
Corey and Mason shared a concerned look, but Liam tilted his head.
“Like what? We might fail the test? Cause I don’t think I need a feeling to tell me that.”
“Shut up,” you complained, feeling the worry roll off your shoulders. “We’re going to make sure you don’t.”
You scooted your chair closer to him and opened up the textbook you had left on the table. “Let’s start with Chapter Nine.”
He leaned in to read next to you and flashed you a grateful smile. You were just about to turn the page when a couple of books slammed onto the table. You flinched at the noise, instinctively moving closer to Liam.
Nolan was standing at the edge of the table, smiling at the four of you. “Hey guys.”
“Hey, Nolan,” Mason said politely.
“Mind if I sit?” Nolan asked.
Liam opened his mouth to protest, but Nolan was already pulling a fifth chair up to the table.
Corey glanced over and met your eyes. He had seen you talking to Nolan in the stacks, and by the way his eyebrows were raised you knew he was wondering if you had invited him over. You shook your head.
Mason cleared his throat. “Studying for the bio test?”
“Trying,” Nolan said with a strange grin, sitting down next to you. “Trying to understand how organisms evolve and change.”
“I don’t think this is on the test,” Corey said hesitantly.
Nolan’s lips twitched, and he clicked the pen in his hands, over and over. He glanced around the table. “Do you think DNA changes?”
“If it’s damaged,” Mason told him.
“I wonder if any of us have changed,” Nolan wondered aloud. “And if we did...would there be any way to tell?”
“Like a DNA test?”.
Nolan smiled as he turned the pen over in his hands. “I was thinking a different type of test.”
Liam stood up suddenly.
“You know what, Nolan? This is a private study group. Get lost.”
Nolan nodded, seeming to understand. He pushed himself up from the table, flashing you a warm smile. For a second, it seemed like he was going to leave. Then, looking right into your eyes, he stabbed his pen into Corey’s hand.
You let out a shriek, and Corey cried out as blood splashed onto the table. Now it was glistening on the wood and your textbook.
“What the hell is your problem?” Mason demanded, but Nolan wasn’t phased.
He reached forward, jerking Corey’s hand up and holding it high for everyone in the library to see. The hole that should have been there was gone, like it had completely healed.
“Look at him!” he snarled at you. “Look at him!”
The entire library was staring. Kids looked up from their textbooks and phones to find a sight that confused and terrified them. What they didn’t know, and what you didn’t know, was that this was only the beginning.
In seconds, Liam had shoved Nolan off of Corey, knocking him to the floor of the library. “Get the hell away from us. Now.”
Nolan glared at Liam, shoving himself up from the ground. He snatched his books from the table and glanced toward you. “See what I’m talking about?”
Then he stormed off, shoving the library doors open and disappearing into the darkened hallway.
When you looked back, Corey, Liam, and Mason were all eyeing you carefully, as if you were an animal that might bite. You glanced at Corey’s completely healed hand, and you made a decision that would define everything that came after that night.
“Nolan is nuts,” you said firmly. “Let’s go study at my house.”
Their shoulders seemed to slump in relief, and Liam reached out to squeeze your hand.
You met his baby blue eyes, and a look of understanding passed between the two of you. What you had seen didn’t matter. These were your friends, and nothing could scare you away from them.
-----
It only took a few days for things to escalate to the unthinkable. Suddenly everyone was afraid of your friends.
You didn’t understand it. There had only been about ten other people in the library that night. Word shouldn’t have traveled that fast, and even if it had, what was there to be afraid of?
If Corey could suddenly heal from his injuries, that should have been a miracle. Unfortunately, not everyone thought that.
When the three of you had walked into school that Monday, all people had done was stare or shy away from you and your friends. You couldn’t hear the whispers, but Liam seemed to be able to. He looked pained as you stood in front of your lockers.
“Just block it out,” Mason assured him.
“They know,” Liam whispered nervously.
“It’s just rumors. They don’t know anything.”
You looked between the two of them. You didn’t know anything either, but you could at least tell that Liam and Corey were different. For some people, that was enough to be upset about.
Before you could interject, someone else did.
“They know everything,” Corey told them, coming up from the hallway behind you. “Two sophomores on the lacrosse team were there last night.”
Mason shook his head, still trying to convince Liam, and maybe himself, that things were okay. “Yeah, but it was late. It was pitch-black out, and there was fog on the road.”
Corey frowned. “It was a clear night, a full moon, and a well lit intersection.”
“Look, I have to get out of here,” Liam hissed.
“No,” Mason insisted. “If you leave, these rumors never stop. You gotta just convince them that you’re a regular kid.”
“I’m not a regular kid.”
You blinked, looking between them. “Wait, what happened last night?”
The three of them shared a glance. No one said anything.
“Look, you can tell me. I already saw what happened in the library. I don’t care.”
Liam and Corey hesitated, but Mason spoke up. “Okay, I’ll tell you.”
“Mason,” Corey hissed.
“Come on, she already has all the pieces. She just hasn’t put them together yet. It’s safer for her to know the whole story.”
Corey didn’t look convinced. He was eyeing you carefully with his arms crossed over his chest. Defensive.
“You’re right,” Liam told Mason, but when you looked into his eyes, he looked scared.
“Can you come with us?” Mason asked you.
You nodded and they led you away from the main hallway. You followed them into a quiet chemistry lab, where they locked the door behind them. There, they explained everything.
Finding out that Liam and Corey were both supernatural creatures was a lot to take in. If there was nothing else going on, you might have needed more time to process everything. However, the news that a group of werewolf hunters was targeting and killing your friends seemed to override the shock.
They explained that wasn’t their only problem, because after Liam had shifted in front of half the town last night, everyone, including the kids at your high school, seemed to know that he wasn’t human.
“So,” you finally said. “What do we do?”
“Good question,” Liam said. “Cause I have no idea.”
“Remember what Scott said?” Mason asked him.
Scott was the assistant coach for the lacrosse team, but he was only a couple years older than you. He hung out with you guys a lot, and he always seemed like a sweet, caring guy. You guessed he was probably in on the secret too.
“He said ‘Be like Clark Kent’.”
Liam looked exasperated. “Clark Kent turns into a guy with a red and blue outfit and a cape. I turn into a monster with claws and fangs.”
“Then just get through the day without shifting,” Corey told him.
“Liam,” Mason said softly. “People are saying that Brett and Lori died in a car accident. We know the truth. They didn’t just die.”
You sucked in a breath. “They were murdered?”
Liam’s face softened. “The people who are after us are dangerous, Y/n. They’ll kill us, and anyone else that gets in the way. That means you too.”
“I don’t care,” you insisted. “You guys are my best friends. I’m not just gonna run and hide, especially if I can help.”
You reached out to grab his hand and squeeze it. His lips turned up at the corners, if only for a moment.
“Then you’re with us now.”
You all agreed that Liam would try to keep cool. The rest of you would try to listen out for anything that might suggest someone was coming after him. Mason and Corey left the chemistry lab to head to their first period classes, leaving you and Liam alone together.
You were both supposed to head to your own classes, but you lingered for a moment.
“So...you’re not afraid?” he asked sheepishly.
You shook your head. “Liam, I know who you are. Having claws and fangs doesn’t change that, even if it’s a little weird.”
He smiled. “A little?”
“Okay, maybe a lot,” you admitted with a grin. “But that just means you can eat the people that piss me off on a full moon.”
Liam frowned. “Werewolves don’t eat people on full moons.”
“So what do they do?”
“Exactly what we’ve been doing every full moon for the past two years. Eating junk food and playing video games.”
You thought for a moment. “And you have super reflexes?”
He nodded. “Yeah, basically.
“So why do you suck so bad at COD then?”
Liam rolled his eyes, but he was still smiling. He was relieved you were still treating him the way you always had. Telling you about the supernatural was always something he had wanted to do. You were one of his best friends, and he had always felt wrong hiding it from you.
He had thought about admitting his secret countless times before, but something had always stopped him. What you didn’t know was that Liam had always thought of you as more than a friend. He was pretty sure you felt the same way, but he had never asked you out.
Scott had questioned him about it once on the way home from a pack movie night. They had dropped you off at home, and as he pulled away from the curb in his mom’s sedan, he was looking at Liam with a smile on his face.
“What?” Liam had asked.
“Why don’t you ask her out?”
Liam flushed. Scott grinned at him. “I haven’t seen you look at anyone like that since Hayden.”
“I don’t know,” Liam said.
“What do you mean?” he asked. “She likes you too. You can’t tell?”
“I know she does. It’s just...with everything going on, I don’t want to drag her into this.”
Scott nodded. “I get it...but you can’t spend your whole life doing that.”
“Doing what?”
“Sacrificing your happiness to keep people safe. Even when you do that, they’re never really safe.”
“I don’t know,” Liam mumbled, glancing out the window into the darkness.
“I had to learn that the hard way,” Scott had told him. “But maybe you do too.”
Now, as he stood across from you, he didn’t want to leave the chemistry lab. He wanted to hide in there with you for as long as he could and tell you everything, including how he felt about you. Before he could get the chance, you spoke.
“Come on,” you said, nodding toward the hallway. “Let’s make sure you stay alive so I can beat your ass again this weekend.”
He had missed his moment, but he smiled at you anyway. “Can I walk you to class?”
“Duh.”
You looped your arm through his and headed out into the hall, ignoring the stares and fearful looks the entire way.
------
You met up again in biology class, which you all had together. When you sat down at the table next to Liam, he pulled you close to whisper in your ear.
Your heart skipped when he placed his hand on your arm, but he was too agitated to notice.
“Nolan and Gabe are going to try to force me to shift. Corey said they’re going to block all the exits.”
You frowned. “Then we have to find a way to sneak you out.”
You glanced behind you, where Corey and Mason were sharing a table.
“We’ve got a plan for that."
Mason explained that Corey could make himself and Liam invisible. They would sneak out down the halls and hopefully find an exit that wasn’t guarded by lacrosse players.
When the bell finally rang, the four of you headed out of class. Corey and Liam slipped behind a pillar and disappeared into thin air. You and Mason led the way as they shuffled behind you, completely unseen.
The four of you hurried through the school, but every exit you passed was blocked by an angry-looking lacrosse player.
“What do we do?” you muttered to Mason.
“Just keep going.”
You turned down another hallway, only to run right into Nolan. He was standing in the middle of the hallway with a few other lacrosse players. Gabe was right behind him. You and Mason stopped short at the sight.
“Hey guys,” Nolan said. His tone was casual, but there was no friendliness in his eyes.
Before you could attempt to go around him or the others, he stepped in front of you. His hands were curled tightly into fists.
“What are you doing?” you asked him.
“You should leave, Y/n. You shouldn’t get in the middle of all this. You’ll get hurt.”
You frowned. “Nolan, please.”
His gaze softened. He looked like he wanted to say something more, but then he simply opened his hand and blew a handful of white powder at you. The smell of flour drifted through the air as you and Mason were dusted. You felt terror grip you as you realized that Corey and Liam were covered too, making them suddenly visible.
You turned in horror, but before you could make a move, Gabe darted forward and threw Liam to the floor. Both Gabe and Nolan hauled him up, dragging him down the empty hall and into a deserted classroom. The other lacrosse players didn’t bother to grab you or Mason. Instead, they flooded into the classroom behind the others.
Some students passing by followed suit, eager to watch the fight they sensed was about to happen.
“Wait here,” Mason told you, darting after them.
He shoved his way into the classroom, ready to come to Liam’s rescue, but he was immediately grabbed by two lacrosse players. You frantically looked around for Corey, but he had disappeared again. You only hoped he was hiding somewhere safe, just in case they were planning on coming for him next.
With Corey nowhere to be found, you shouldered your way into the classroom, but you were trapped behind the sea of kids trying to catch the action.
You watched in horror as Nolan landed a punch to Liam’s face, causing blood to run from his nose. They shoved him to the ground, kicking and punching him. Every time Liam seemed to be close to snapping, he seemed to hold himself back. You were relieved, but you also weren’t sure how long he could keep that up.
“You’re fighting it!” you heard Nolan snap.
Your blood boiled. You were sick to your stomach with both rage and terror. Liam was getting his ass handed to him. He couldn’t even fight back.
You watched as Gabe snatched a tuft of Liam’s brown hair. He yanked him up from the classroom floor, only to slam his knee into Liam’s face. You flinched.
“What is going on here?!”
Suddenly the clicking of heels sounded from down the hallway. Mrs Finch was striding over, and the crowd of kids parted for her. Instead of looking angry, she just seemed scared as she realized what was happening.
“Do something!” Mason pleaded, but Mrs. Finch just held up her hands, as if she were surrendering.
“Sometimes it’s best to let them work things out on their own,” she told him, before turning back down the hall.
Kids stared in shock, dumbfounded at her response. You took the opportunity to shove your way into the space she had left in the crowd. As you got closer, you saw that Liam was lying on his back. Blood was streaming from his nose, his mouth, and various other cuts on his face.
Gabe was kneeling over him, punching him over and over. He raised his arm to land another blow, and that was when you moved forward. You had no idea what had gotten into you, but you couldn’t watch another second of Liam’s suffering.
Gabe grunted in surprise as you knocked him to the ground. The two of you spilled onto the tiled floor, but he quickly recovered. He yanked your head back by your hair, causing you to cry out.
Before you could register what was happening, pain was shooting through your skull. He had punched you so hard that it left you lying on the floor, dazed and seeing white for a few seconds.
“Gabe-” Nolan began to say, but he was cut off. “Is this what’s gonna do it, Liam?” Gabe demanded, pulling you off the floor by your hair. “Maybe you won’t change if we beat your ass, but what about hers?”
Tears were streaming down your face, blurring your vision. You could still see Liam's eyes glowing yellow though. As much as it hurt, you weren’t willing to be the reason he shifted in front of everyone.
“Liam,” you begged. “Don’t.”
You could taste your own blood on your lips. Judging by the look on Liam’s face, you probably looked terrible, even from the single punch. You knew they were going to do much worse.
Gabe balled his hand into a fist once more, and you closed your eyes, bracing for the next punch.
“What the hell is going on?! Back off!”
Suddenly, Gabe was ripped off of you by the back of his shirt. His fingers uncurled from your hair, and you dropped to the ground on your hands and knees.
“Get to the Principal's office now!” Coach Finstock was screaming.
He had Gabe and Nolan by their shirts, and he practically tossed them out the door and into the hallway. He looked absolutely livid. You had never seen Coach so angry. He gazed out at the crowd of students around you.
“What the hell is this?” He demanded. “Get out, all of you! I can’t stand to look at your faces!”
The crowd dispersed, and Mason was let go. You scrambled over to Liam, who was still on his back. He was taking short, gasping breaths and his face was covered in his own blood, but he looked relieved. He coughed as the four of you, including Corey, who had reappeared, helped him off the ground. One of his arms was slung over your shoulder, and the other was slung over Mason’s.
Mason stared at him in awe. “I can’t believe you did that...and Y/n, I can’t believe you just tackled Gabe. That was insane.”
Liam nodded, looking between the three of you. “Clark Kent, right?” he muttered.
“Yeah,” Mason breathed. “Clark Kent.”
Liam glanced over at you. He felt a lump in his throat when he saw the state of your face. There was a small gash on your cheek from where Gabe had punched you. A trickle of blood was making its way down to your jaw, and your lip was split open. The worst part was the bruising. The blood could be cleaned up, but the bruise that was beginning to form would be there for a while. That side of your face was also beginning to swell.
His blood was boiling. He wanted to tear Gabe and Nolan apart. In that moment, he didn’t care who saw. Then you spoke.
“Liam,” you said softly. “I’m okay. I promise.”
You squeezed his hand. The feel of your fingers wrapped around his seemed to ground him. The tension melted from his shoulders.
“Come on,” he said. “Let’s get out of here.”
------
“God, I have no idea how I’m going to explain what happened to your parents.”
You looked over at Liam from the passenger seat of his Toyota. He had a white-knuckled grip on the steering wheel. You raised your eyebrows.
“Why do you have to explain?”
“Because I’m your best friend. I’m supposed to protect you...and everything that happened is my fault anyway.”
You lifted the bag of frozen peas that Coach had given you off your cheek. He had assured you it would bring down the swelling, but you were skeptical.  You pulled down the visor in front of you and glanced at your wounded face in the mirror.
Mason had cleaned the blood off with the lacrosse team first aid kit, but there was a visible gash where Gabe’s knuckles had connected with your cheekbone. The bruise, now a deep blue-ish purple, spread out across your cheek. Your lip was also busted and there was no way you’d be able to hide it.
“It’s not your fault. I’ll just tell my parents the truth. Someone was getting their ass kicked and I stepped in to stop them. Well, I tried anyway.”
“Okay, now you’re kind of making me sound like a little bitch.”
You shrugged, and you and Liam both burst out laughing. The movement in your face caused you to wince and Liam’s expression darkened.
“I’m sorry.”
“You don’t have to keep saying that.”
“I feel like I do.”
“You don’t,” you assured him. “Liam, none of this was your fault. It’s the hunters and Nolan, and that fucking psycho Gabe. Plus, I’m the one who tackled him…”
He didn’t answer right away. He was anxiously chewing on his lip, staring out the windshield.
“Liam?”
“I think you need to leave town.”
You balked at him. “What? No way!”
“Gabe could have done a lot worse to you. Now he knows you’re involved. Staying here could get you killed. You and Mason both.”
“So what are we supposed to do?” you demanded. “Just run away?”
“Yeah. That’s exactly what you should do. I can’t protect you, Y/n. I can’t protect anyone.”
“I can protect myself-”
“No you can’t!” he snapped. “Look at your face!”
You flinched back at his sharp tone. Wordlessly, you turned away, slouching down in your seat to stare out the window. Maybe he was right, but his words had touched a nerve.
Liam wasn’t trying to hurt you, but he was terrified. If he couldn’t even protect you from Gabe, how was he supposed to protect you from trained hunters?
“Y/n...I’m sorry. I’m not saying you’re not strong. I just…I can’t lose you.”
You felt a flutter in your chest. Taking a deep breath, you looked back over at him.
“Even if you can’t protect me, why would I leave you? If someone’s trying to kill you, I want to help. Even if it means getting hurt...even if it means dying. I can’t just leave.”
“I can’t be the reason something happens to you,” Liam protested.
“You wouldn’t be,” you pointed out. “If these people are coming after you, that’s them. Not you.”
He shook his head and you could tell he was trying to work something out inside his head. He was about to turn down the street to Scott’s neighborhood, but he hesitated for a moment. You were both supposed to be at a pack meeting, but now he was having second thoughts about bringing you.
“Maybe I should just take you home. I promise I’ll come and get you as soon as this is over,” he swore.
“I can’t just leave you.”
“You can,” he insisted, pulling up to the nearest curb. Scott’s house was still a few blocks away.
“If you want me to leave you, you’re gonna have to pick me up and carry me kicking and screaming out of town,” you told him stubbornly.
“Fine,” he said with a shrug. “Then that’s what I’ll do. I’ll throw you over my shoulder. I don’t care.”
You rolled your eyes. “You’re not serious.”
“I am!” he shouted. “You don’t realize how much danger you’re in.”
“You’re Clark Kent, right?” you demanded. “What if I’m Lois Lane then? I don’t remember her ever running away.”
He opened his mouth to protest. This wasn’t a comic book. It was real life, and you could die. But as you stared at him defiantly, he realized you already knew that.
Asking you to leave him would have been like asking him to leave Scott and the others.
“Fine,” he said.
He put the car back into drive and pulled away from the curb. You drove in silence for a couple minutes, until he pulled into a driveway you presumed was Scott’s. There were several other cars out front. You recognized Stiles’ rickety, blue jeep right away, along with Lydia’s Martin’s Toyota and Scott’s motorcycle.
“Promise me you’ll just think about leaving?” he asked. “Just think about it.”
“Fine,” you told him.
Liam eyed you. “You’re lying.”
“So you can read minds now too?” you demanded.
“Your heart skips when you lie. I can hear it.”
He slammed the door behind him, but came around to open yours for you nonetheless. You could tell he was pissed at you for saying you wouldn’t leave, but he would do the exact same thing and you knew it.
As you followed Liam into the house, you saw a group of people clustered around the coffee table, examining a map. You recognized Scott, his mom, Malia, Lydia and two other men you didn’t know. One was tall with dark hair, and he was wearing a suit. There was an FBI badge hanging from his neck. The other was shorter, with piercing blue eyes.
“...no one can leave,” the taller one was saying. “Gerard’s distributed all of his weapons throughout Beacon Hills, to anyone who wants them.”
The shorter one looked grim. “He’s arming his army.”
You turned toward Liam, wanting to ask what they were talking about. Before they could, Lydia, who had been staring vacantly out the window, yelled “Get down!”
She pulled Mason to the floor just as two arrows flew through the glass windows at the front of the house, shattering them. A bright flash spread across the room, blinding you just after you saw Malia shove Scott down. Liam tackled you to the floor, covering his body with yours.
Gunfire echoed across the room, and you felt a sharp, stinging pain in your side. You cried out, and Liam pressed himself harder on top of you. You closed your eyes, terrified of what would happen next.
Suddenly, the gunfire stopped. You glanced up, and saw the taller man, who you now realized bore a striking resemblance to Scott, stand up. He must have been his father, you realized, as he drew his weapon from a holster on his side.
Liam pushed himself up, but when he did, he realized there was blood soaking through his t-shirt. When he felt for a wound, he realized it wasn’t his blood, but yours.
You were lying below him, and a pool of dark, red blood was staining your right side, soaking into your shirt and your jeans.
“Liam, what happened?” you whispered. Your voice was soft and scared.
“No!” he shouted, looking around frantically for the others.
But Mason and Melissa were both unconscious on the floor, lying in their own pools of blood, which were slowly widening on the floor. Lydia was bleeding, but awake, and she was using a hand to prop herself up using the coffee table. Scott’s dad was groaning in pain, one hand holding pressure over his bloody arm.
Everyone was hurt. Everyone needed help.
When Liam looked back down at you, your eyes were closed. Your breathing was growing shallow, and he resisted the urge to scream. He reached down, frantically pressing both hands over your bleeding side.
“Scott!” he cried. “What do we do?”
The alpha, riddled with bullet holes himself, struggled to his feet.
“I don’t know.”
------
“You doing okay?”
Liam looked up at the sound of Scott’s voice. The older boy was looking down at him sympathetically, and Liam felt a twinge of annoyance.
“Not really.”
“Mind if I sit?” Scott asked.
“Sure,” Liam said, looking back down at the floor.
The flimsy chair next to him groaned as Scott sat down. He had two plastic-wrapped breakfast bagels in his hands, one of which he held out to Liam.
“No thanks.”
“Come on, you haven’t eaten since last night.”
“I’m not hungry.”
“Okay.” He set the bagels on the side table next to them. “You know the nurse said she was awake. You don’t wanna go see her?”
Liam was silent. His mouth was pressed into a grim line.
“Liam,” Scott said softly. “What happened wasn’t your fault.”
“I brought her to your house,” he grumbled. “I was trying to get her to leave town, but she wouldn’t. So I agreed that I wouldn’t make her.”
He shook his head in disbelief. “God, I should have just dragged her out of town myself.”
“She’ll be okay,” Scott reminded him. “The bullet didn’t hit anything important.”
“Yeah, and it’s a miracle it didn’t. I could have gotten her killed, Scott.”
Scott reached out, putting a hand on his shoulder. “Liam, look at me.”
Finally, he did. His blue eyes met Scott’s brown ones, and he felt himself tearing up, though he hated himself for it. He had forced himself not to cry all night, afraid that once he did, he would completely break down.
But now, as the tears slipped down his cheeks, he couldn’t stop them. “It’s my fault she got hurt, Scott. This is what I was afraid of, and it happened.”
“None of this is your fault.”
Scott leaned over and brought Liam into a tight hug. “Remember when I told you that sacrificing your happiness doesn’t always keep people safe?”
Liam nodded.
“You couldn’t have stopped this. Whoever was shooting at us was going to do it regardless. Who’s to say they wouldn’t have gone after her when you weren’t with her?”
“I could have made her leave town though.”
“No you couldn’t have. Making her leave you would have been like making you leave us. You never would have done it.”
“Maybe you’re right.”
Scott smiled and pulled away from the younger boy. “I know I’m right. I’ve been doing this for a while, remember? I know you feel like you’re responsible, but you’re not. She made her choice, and it was the exact same one you would have made.”
Liam nodded.
“I think you’re perfect for each other, actually,” Scott continued. “You’re both stubborn as hell.”
“Yeah,” Liam said with a soft laugh. “We are.”
“Go see her. I’m sure you guys have a lot to talk about.”
Liam nodded and rose to his feet. “Thanks.”
Scott smiled in response, and Liam headed down the hall to your room. The nurse had given him the number a few hours ago, but he was afraid to visit you. He knew you wouldn’t be mad at him, but it was his own guilt he hadn’t been able to get past. Now he knew he couldn’t control what happened to you, and it wasn’t fair to punish you by staying away.
He knocked on the wooden door, and heard your soft voice say “Come in.”
When he pushed it open, you were lying there, propped up against the pillows. You smiled when he entered, and he felt relief rush through him. Even in a hospital gown, you still looked beautiful.
He strode forward and leaned in, wrapping his arms around you. You buried your face in his shoulder, hugging him back.
“I was worried you weren’t going to show,” you admitted.
Liam flushed. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t sure if I should come.”
“It wasn’t your fault,” you told him. “I knew you’d feel like it was. That’s why I told Scott to go talk to you.”
He balked at you. “You...you told Scott to come talk to me?”
You nodded. “He came in to check on me once my parents left to eat. When you weren’t with him, I figured you’d be beating yourself up about it.”
Scott had been right. You really were perfect for each other.
“You’re still in this mess because of me.”
“Yeah, but I made the choice to stay. And I’d do it again in a heartbeat. You’re telling me you wouldn’t do the exact same thing?”
He sighed and lowered himself down into the chair next to your bed. “No, I would’ve.”
“Look, there’s something I need to tell you,” you admitted. “I could never have left you, Liam. I know you wanted me to go, but if I’m gonna die, I’d rather do it with you. I love you too much to run away.”
He reached out, placing his hand over yours. “It wasn’t like I wanted to be away from you. I just thought that you would be safer. I was afraid of...well, this.”
He gestured to you, lying in the hospital bed.
“Oh come on,” you said with a roll of your eyes. “I’m fine. Plus, I’m gonna have a kickass scar. It’ll be just like a video game.”
You reached down and pulled up your hospital gown, revealing the gauze over your side. “I’m gonna look like a total badass.”
Liam grinned. “You already are a total badass.”
You smiled up at him, and he felt his heart skip. Without hesitating any longer, he leaned in, cupping your face with his hands and pressing a soft kiss to your lips. Being gentle wasn’t exactly his strong suit, but your bottom lip was still busted from when Gabe had punched you.
“I love you,” he murmured, pulling back to look down at your face. “And whatever happens, I want you by my side.”
You nodded. “Me too.”
He pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead, and you shifted to the other side of the hospital bed. You patted the space beside you.
“Are we allowed to do that?” he asked.
“I just got shot,” you complained. “I should be able to do whatever I want.”
Without another thought, Liam crawled up beside you. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and pulled you close so that your side was pressed against his. You snuggled into him, and for the first time in months, he felt like everything would be okay.

“Look, you’re all going, no excuses.” Fury states as he stands before the Avengers all sat around the conference table with furrowed brows.
Bucky sighs to himself, thinking about you sat down in that lab alone, still unsure of what is even happening like everyone else.
“But Sir,” Steve speaks up, all eyes turn to him as Fury raises a brow as to whom is questioning him. “Y/n isn’t just someone, she needs protecting.” He reasons, but Fury exhales deeply.
“Mr Rogers, let me make this clear,” Fury steps forward. “I don’t give a damn.”
“You should.” Bucky mutters under his breath as his arms remain crossed over his chest, barely able to stop his leg from bouncing up and down.
“What was that, Sargent?” Fury quips.
Lifting his head, Bucky coldly stares at Fury, ignoring Steve’s silent pleas for him to back down. “You should care who she is, as she matters to me.” Bucky bluntly states.
“As I said, Sargent, I don’t give a damn.” Fury reiterates his point. “Stark hired her, she went through every background check there is. She’s perfectly fine here, do I make myself clear?”
No one dares to speak up as Fury turns his attention to Maria Hill standing beside him.
“Get the jet ready, they can finish briefing on the way.” Fury tells Hill.
Maria nods as she places her earpiece back on. “Yes, Sir.” She walks out of the room and Fury follows.
“We can talk more about this situation when you return.” Fury comments before exiting the room, leaving the team sat in tense silence as the thought of you lingers on all their minds.
“So that’s it?” Sam asks as Tony rises to his feet, not daring to look up at Bucky or Steve.
“You heard Fury, we’ve got a job to do.” Tony explains, knowing there’s no use trying to argue any further. “Come on, the sooner we go the sooner we can get back.”
*
Sitting in the lab, you wish someone was around to keep you company. The last time you had any form of communication was with Bruce before he left last night for a mission with the rest of the team.
All you can hear were his lasting words of advice; "Don't leave this room."
You were bored out of your mind, stuck in the confined space surrounded by cameras and monitors as you remain hooked up to various machines; yet no one will explain what they all do or what is exactly happening to you.
“Hey, FRIDAY?” You call out, desperate for something to do as you lean against the glass wall, flexing your feet.
“Yes, Ms Y/l/n, how can I help?” FRIDAY asks and you exhale deeply, what can an AI do to provide any assistance whilst her creator is keeping you trapped in a lab?
“Any chance Tony mentioned my dinner plans?” You chuckle, having all the facilities beside a kitchen at your disposal.
“I’ll arrange for dinner to be provided by an Agent, Ms Y/l/n.” FRIDAY responds, and you nod to yourself, sliding down against the glass as you lie flat on your back.
“Thanks, FRIDAY.” You mutter. “God, I’ve truly lost it, talking to an AI for company.” You groan, covering your eyes.
It has been a few days since you had a ‘memory’ or a snippet of one. It’s as if your brain has gone dormant the moment someone finally was willing to listen and provide help.
Yet, your mind always ends up wandering back to the ever-present thought of Bucky Barnes. You’ll never forget the way he screamed your name before he was forced to the ground, thrown out of sight from your point of view. There was something about him, the way he looked at you with so much pain lingering in his eyes, even when you first met him.
“Come on, seriously where are we going?” You giggle, following behind James as his hand remains in yours, guiding you out from the bar filled with soldiers.
Glancing over his shoulder, Bucky smirks at his best girl, still amazed that you’ve stuck with him through all this. “Somewhere special.” He tells you, quickly turning to kiss you sweetly before carrying on.
After walking for around ten minutes, Bucky guides you toward the old hall you used to go to during dances.
“This is somewhere special, huh?” You joke, resting your hands on your hips as Bucky fiddles with the lock, tearing it off with ease much to your surprise.
Releasing the chains, Bucky pulls the door open and motions for you to walk inside. Without hesitation, you quickly slip in as Bucky follows behind.
Your footsteps echo in the empty space, having barely been used for months since the war worsened. There are still banners from the last dance you attended with Bucky, dust lining the stage and the various blown out bulbs.
Bucky hovers near the entrance of the dim hall as the moonlight shines through the broken roof, illuminating your figure as you look around. He tries to ignore the screams that ring through his mind, the horror he witnessed mere weeks ago.
“James?” Your voice brings him back to reality as your hand cups his cheek. “It’s okay, you’re right here, with me.” You softly remind him, having experienced countless nights of cries and screams of terror leaving his lips as he flails around, wishing for it to all end.
Leaning his head against your hand, tears form in Bucky’s eyes as you move closer, wrapping your arms around him and hold him close.
“It’s okay, I promise, it’s okay.” You whisper, running your fingers through his hair as he buries his face in the crook of your neck, his shoulders rising and falling. “It’s over, James, you’re safe.” You remind him, but his sobs subside as he lifts his head, resting his hands around your waist.
“Doll, there’s something I’ve gotta tell you,” Bucky admits, knowing it’s going to be more painful to tell you he’s leaving again.  “I, Steve’s got a plan, one final mission.”  Looking up, Bucky can see you trying to remain composed as you bite your lower lip. “And then we’re done, it’s over and I’m all yours, forever.”
“That’s it?” You breathe out. "One final mission?"
Nodding in response, Bucky guides you toward the moonlit spot in the middle of the hall. “That’s it, and then I’ll be here, by your side until you get sick of me.” He jokes, and your gentle laugh fills his ears.
“Won’t take long, but I’ll put up with it if it means you’re here, with me.” You tell him before tearing your eyes from his as you look up at the birds perching on the rails above you, cooing back and forth.
Bucky admires your smile, the sincere look across your face and he knows it’s now or never.
“Y/n?” Bucky asks, and you hum in response as you lower your face, your eyes practically sparkling brighter than the stars. “Do you remember the last time we were here?”
You smile at the memory. “Of course, we danced until everyone else had left.” You remember it vividly, dancing in the silence of the hall together before Bucky walked you home and slept by your side until the sun rose. His lips lingered over your skin as the sunlight beamed through your curtains, burning his eyes with the reminder he can’t stay.
“There was something I never got to say that night, and throughout everything I, I went through,” Bucky trails off.
“Hey, I’m right here,” You softly mutter, gravitating him back to the present.
“I, I always thought of you, my darling Y/n who has been there through thick and thin. I’m in awe of you, I think I always have, ever since we first met. Your defiance for both Steve and I is unmatched, and you’ve weaved a piece of yourself into me and I don’t want it to ever disappear.” Bucky explains, glancing up to see tears forming in your eyes.
“What’re you saying, James?” Your voice cracks as tears begin to fall down your cheeks whilst Bucky lowers himself down onto one knee before you.
“I’m asking if you, Y/n Y/l/n will do me the honour of being my wife, my doll and best friend forever.” Bucky can feel himself going as you bend down, level with him as a watery laugh leaves your lips.
“Yes,” You respond, looking at the beautiful ring that you recognise from his Grandmother. “you and me, James, forever.”
Gasping for breath, you sit upright clutching your chest.
“FRIDAY?” You yell, but there is no immediate response.
Uneasily you stand up as your body shakes, the memory replaying on your mind as the soldiers face is becoming clearer, his name ghosting your lips, but still refuses to leave them.
Looking across to the monitors, you notice they’re all down. Nothing is operating.
With uncertainty, you remove the various wires and pads covering your skin before stepping toward the glass door and pull it open with ease. “Strange.” You mutter under your breath as you walk out, half expecting a series of alarms to blare, but silence follows as you reach the elevator.
As you press the button for the elevator, you watch as it rises from the ground floor. Yet, the closer it gets the sound of voices near.
“FRIDAY, who else is in the compound?” You call out, now backing away from the elevator as it’s two floors away from you.
Silence ensues yet again, and now your heart rate increases as the elevator pings.
Backing away as the metal doors slide open, you rush back into the lab and hide beneath one of the many desks as a series of men yell orders to one another.
“FRIDAY, please,” You whisper to the AI who remains unresponsive as you close your eyes, wishing to remain unnoticed. “emergency protocol seven.” You add as the glass door shatters open, followed by several footsteps crunching across the broken glass.
Lowering your hands from your face, you can see three pairs of feet from where you’re hiding, weapons hanging in their grip.
“Get anything you can whilst the systems are down.” One man instructs, and you can feel your heart sinking further into your chest; you’re on your own, truly, defenceless.
“How long do you think we have?” Another speaks up, his Russian accent thick as the previous man sighs in annoyance.
“Twenty minutes at the most, now don’t waste time.” He spits before turning around nearing the entrance but pauses.
His feet crunch into the glass as he slowly walks back to the other men.
“Do you hear that?” He asks, holding his hand up to his ear as the two men look at him cluelessly.
“Hear what?” The Russian dares to question whilst you bury your body further into your hiding spot, covering your nose and mouth with your hands to suppress your unsteady breaths.
“The elevator stopped here before we planned which floor to go to, so, who called it here?” Your eyes widen in fear as footsteps approach the desk you’re hiding beneath. “Neither of you notice these tubes and wires connected to the monitors?” The man scoffs.
Within a split second, the desk is flipped over, revealing you curled up to the three men with twisted smiles across their faces.
“Hello, Miss.” The leader bends down and kneels in front of you, he extends his arm, revealing a tattoo across his forearm which you recognise from the many files you’ve read. “You and I are going to have a little game, and I can assure you, it’s going to be fun.”
*
Boarding the quinjet alongside Sam, Bucky wipes his lip, ignoring the throbbing sensation as fresh blood lines his fingertips.
“I told you, we’d be in and out.” Tony comments as the jet door closes behind him as he remains almost unscathed, unlike Steve and Bucky who are slightly worse for wear.
“You didn’t have to go off course like that, Tony.” Steve sighs, sporting a black eye as he takes his seat beside Natasha who wraps her wrist up with Bruce’s help.
Shrugging his shoulders, Tony picks up his phone. “Yeah, well, it’s done now and we can carry on with our little mystery back at the compound.” He mutters, briefly looking to Bucky whose thoughts have remained consumed by you ever since he left. “Hey, can we leave right now? We have to get back to the compound!” Tony rushes toward the pilot with a level of urgency in his tone.
“Tony, what’s going on?” Detecting the change immediately, Steve rises to his feet as he walks toward Tony.
Glancing over his shoulder, Tony can see Bucky still staring at him. “Protocol Seven was activated.” Tony explains in a hushed tone, but he should know better considering there were two super soldiers on board.
“What’s protocol seven?” Bucky speaks up, noticing Natasha tense beside Bruce. “What is it?” He repeats, trying to suppress his panic as Steve clenches his jaw.
“How long do you think we have?” Steve asks.
Rubbing his face, Tony sighs. “Maybe forty minutes, FRIDAY will lock the building, but with the systems hijacked it’ll take longer than normal.”
“Stark,” Bucky tries to remain composed as the plates in his metal arm whir, his fist clenching tightly. “what is protocol seven?”
Turning away from Steve, Tony faces Bucky with a heavy heart. “A security breach within the compound, the systems have been hijacked and FRIDAY is on back up mode.” Tony explains, but Bucky can tell he’s holding something back.
“What kind of security breach?” Bucky dares to ask, stepping closer whilst Natasha lowers her head whilst Clint remains sorrowful opposite the Black Widow.
"I'm so sorry, Barnes." Tony softly responds, looking down as FRIDAY's systems begin to reboot, the security camera's slowly reactivating.
“HYDRA, Buck.” Steve states. “HYDRA are in the compound.”
