Yandere! Ohshc Headcanons!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tamaki (Aka Delusional & Possessive):
Tumblr media
🎀💖😭💢: Tamaki’s yandere side would be over exceedingly dramatic and somewhat emotionally volatile. He would treat his partner like a fragile treasure, constantly showering them with affection but also becoming jealous and explosive when other people take their attention from him.
🎀💖😭💢: Tamaki would definitely be the type to shower his partner with grandiose declarations of love and do everything to make sure no one else even looks at them. He would overreact if they showed interest in anyone else, often crying or becoming angry and irrational.
🎀💖😭💢: Tamaki’s yandere tendencies most likely would lead to emotional manipulation, guilt-tripping, and maybe even keeping his partner in a sort of emotional (or literal) "cage," convincing them they’re not safe anywhere except with him.
🎀💖😭💢: "Who was that person? Why were you smiling at them? Were you thinking about them when I was talking to you?" (Dramatically throws himself on the ground, hands clutching his chest.)
Kyoya (Aka Calculating & Controlling):
Tumblr media
🖤🧠🔐📊: Kyoya, ever the calculating and strategic individual, would treat his partner as a prized possession. He would methodically ensure that they only have eyes for him, often using his intelligence to manipulate situations in his favor.
🖤🧠🔐📊: Kyoya would control all aspects of his partner’s life, from their schedule to who they interact with. He would make them feel as though they owe him everything for the "privilege" of being with him. Kyoya would subtly gaslight his partner into feeling as though they're nothing without him.
🖤🧠🔐📊: His manipulation would be extremely subtle, using logic and charm to isolate his partner from everyone else. He could create a perfect, "safe" world for them- one in which they are entirely dependent on him.
🖤🧠🔐📊: "I did this all for you, remember? I don’t need to explain why you should only be with me—just trust me." (His tone calculated, as if part of a plan.)
Haruhi (Aka Loyal & Manipulative):
Tumblr media
☕️❤️🤫🔐: Haruhi would still be the calm and level-headed person she is, but with a side of possessive. She might hide her possessiveness behind a facade of sweetness, but deep down, Haruhi would become increasingly jealous of any attention directed toward her significant other, even from their closest friends.
☕️❤️🤫🔒: She’d keep track of her partner’s every move and would be extremely protective, warning off anyone who gets too close. Haruhi might pretend to be nonchalant, but she'd subtly manipulate situations to keep her partner isolated, ensuring that they always depend on her.
☕️❤️🤫🔒: Haruhi could be the type to act like nothing’s wrong, but in private, she'd be deeply possessive, possibly stalking her partner and subtly sabotaging friendships.
☕️❤️🤫🔒: “If you don’t want to upset me, it’s best if you keep your distance from them. I know what's best for you, after all."
Hikaru & Kaoru (Aka Jealous & Rivalrous):
Tumblr media
👥💘🤯💥: The twins’ yandere behavior would be inextricably linked, with them both vying for their partner’s attention. They would share an obsessive bond, and their possessiveness would turn into a twisted form of rivalry — trying to outdo one another for their partner's affections, but also trying to keep them isolated from others.
👥💘🤯💥: Both would take turns being excessively sweet and doting, but their jealousy would manifest in disturbing ways. They might play mind games, making their partner feel guilty or confused about which twin they like more. They would constantly monitor their partner’s interactions with others, growing more possessive and territorial.
👥💘🤯💥: Hikaru and Kaoru might escalate into subtle manipulations and gaslighting, as they use their twin bond to make their partner feel like they are always being watched and controlled. The jealousy between them could also lead to possessive outbursts.
👥💘🤯💥: "You know you love me more than him, don’t you? It doesn’t matter, you know you can’t escape us."
Honey (Aka Cutesy & Clingy):
Tumblr media
🍯🐰💞😡: Honey would still maintain his innocent, sweet exterior, but his yandere tendencies would be hidden behind a facade of cute behavior. He would become overly attached and show obsessive affection toward his partner, often clinging to them and becoming upset if they show attention to anyone else.
🍯🐰💞😡: His possessiveness would manifest in a subtle, almost childlike way, but with intense emotional reactions if his partner even speaks to another person. Honey might act "cute" to draw them in, but if he feels threatened, he could become possessive and fiercely protective.
🍯🐰💞😡: Honey’s obsession might be shown in bursts of violence or extreme jealousy, though he'd be more likely to act out in ways that seem harmless on the surface, such as demanding constant attention or pouting when he doesn’t get his way. He could also use his adorable “Lolita” charm to manipulate his partner emotionally.
🍯🐰💞😡: “You shouldn’t be talking to anyone else. I don’t like it when you smile at them like that. They’re not me." (His small voice wavers with tension as his hold tightens.)
Mori (Aka Silent & Protective):
Tumblr media
😶🦁🔪👀: Mori’s yandere side would be less obvious but no less dangerous. His stoic and calm demeanor would hide a fierce possessiveness and a deep, obsessive attachment to his partner. He would be protective to an extreme, often silently following them or keeping them away from others.
😶🦁🔪👀: Mori wouldn’t express his feelings openly like the others, but he would become silently enraged if someone else tried to get close to his partner. His jealousy would be subtle but unmistakable in the way he silently keeps his distance from others and makes sure they know who his partner belongs to.
😶🦁🔪👀: Mori would be the type to silently manipulate situations to isolate his partner, slowly becoming more controlling while never raising his voice or showing overt anger. His silent treatment would be his weapon, and if pushed too far, he might use physical intimidation to assert control.
😶🦁🔪👀: "If anyone dares get too close to you, they’ll regret it. No one touches what’s mine." (His words are delivered quietly, with an unshakable sense of control.)
A/n: So sorry for the 4 month-long hiatus!! But I’m back!!

Heck it, I'll make a proper pinned
Salutations! Hello! My name is Ashley, your likely not so local, lesbian, early twenties, beautiful trans girlthing with undiagnosed mental problems.
I usually post about Trans stuff, as helping other transfems in any way I can is important to me.
I also post about whatever else is on my mind, I don't really have much of a filter. Usually expect stuff about Video Games.
I also don't hesitate to reblog horny stuff, and I'm a kinky bitch so that filter doesn't exist. Usually not anything with nudity, but no promises. This Blog is 18+ Only.
My old pinned was my award winning post
It makes a great vibe check and did a phenomenal job scaring away chasers. Watch if if you're not a coward
Stuffs I like!!!!:
I play alot of video games, some of my favorite series are Xenoblade Chronicles (This is the quickest way to my heart), Dragon Quest, Pikmin, Fire Emblem (Unfortunate), Kirby, Splatoon, Shin Megami Tensei, Megaman
I love the NeiR series! Fantasy Life and Gnosia are some of my all time favorites.
I've been lifelong way too Pokémon obsessed
I play a wide variety of stuff, and it'd be difficult to name everything. I play a bit of everything but I'm mostly a single player girly and I adore JRPG's.
I used to be more of an anime fan, but don't actively watch new stuff alot. I've seen a ton of anime and read alot of manga.
Stuff like JoJo's Bizzare Adventure, Chainsaw Man, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, The Pet Girl of Sakuraso, Yuru Yuri, Sailor Moon and many more are very important to me.
As said I'm well experienced in anime, and love getting to talk about it with people.
I'm likely to do the occasional horny post, but usually don't reblog or post nudity. Still this Blog is 18+
I'm a kinky bitch, and have spent alot of time in online lewd role play communities. As a result I'm desensitized to alot of it and very casual about things.
I've been called a succubus alot, and have a history of awakening new kinks in people.
If I ever make a NSFW sideblog I'll give more specifics there. But I'm always down to talk with girls (18+) about stuff!
Alright, wrap it up already:
Now, here's a collection of thoughts and things I couldn't be bothered to fit in naturally anywhere.
The tag I use for my original posts is #Ashley.txt if you want to see just them and not the mass of stuff I reblog. For older ones I used #skyla.ramble if you wanna see those. Yes Skyla is not my name anymore, no I'm not changing the tag, You have to earn calling me that.
I use #stoned kitten for my high posts
As stated before my name is Ashley! I prefer Ashey as a nickname over Ash. And I encourage people to spell it however they like best. Having some people say Ashy or Ashie is cute! You can call me Ash, but don't call me that exclusively.
I'm a She/Her - It/It's Girly. Those are the ones I fuck with. Referring to me with It/It's is the way to my heart, but I like being called both.
I'm an attention whore
I love Chappell Roan
I meow and bite, don't worry about it
Mutuals are always so incredibly welcome and encouraged to send me a DM or ask for my Discord (that's where I prefer talking)
I love all transfems. No matter what arbitrary reason you have that makes you think you're not enough or worthy of it. All trans people have a space in this community. You are so incredibly important 💖
Okay, I've gone on for more than long enough. I'll add to this if I ever need to
Have some pictures of me to finish off because I'm hot as hell

☢|tamaki x reader. 2,4k words. sorry this is so late i literally forgot to post it last week anw the next n final part is coming in 2 weeks while i work n post some other stuff hehehe
“mum?”
“yes, love?”
“how did you not lose it when you realised dad was going away for good?”
that was the first thing you’d asked your mum on a saturday morning after waving her good morning. needless to say, the woman was taken aback to hear this question from you. she knew her daughter never asked about her parents’ divorce, not wanting to dissect those wounds.
it took her some time to come up with a response.
“i had you to look after.” she lied, not looking at you and instead focusing on her cake. “you kept me going.”
“but how was i helping in that situation? wouldn’t i make it worse?” you pressed on. if there was one thing your mum knew about you, it was that you were weirdly emotionally intelligent for a teenage girl.
she frowned, putting down the fruit she was decorating her cake with, and sighed deeply. she didn’t like lying to you.
“well.” she inhaled, “your question is phrased wrong.” she finally looked you in the eye. “because i did lose it. but before i was too far gone, i got back up. i couldn’t have you suffer like i did.”
the conversation replayed over and over in your head for the following week back to school. you wondered if heartbreak ran in the family. while not knowing much about your parents’ separation, you knew your grandparents also had a bad history. maybe love was just something the gods didn’t want to bestow upon your bloodline.
tamaki’s visit had, surprisingly, not been very pleasant. partly because your sickness made you… well, sick, and partly because tamaki was distracted the whole time. he’d brought you commoners’ food (haruhi’s recommendation), along with some more commoner candy ‘to sweeten your mood’ (what haruhi’s dad would take to work, according to haruhi). oh, and of course, you can’t forget how he would glance at his phone every so often. you ignored it at first, figuring out it’s the host club group chat, but your patience had its limits.
he’d come to your house, to check up on your health - his friend. supposedly. had you already been demoted to client status? well, you had the entire week to think about it as you rested.
during that time, tamaki seemed to reach out a bit more than usual, and once more, you believed he cared. you believed he realised you were important to him, even if your feelings weren’t exactly reciprocated.
and once again you’d been wrong.
because as time passed and you started making weekly appointments again, you began to feel that something was off. what exactly it was you couldn’t tell, but your gut was telling you to be suspicious. ‘suspicious of what, or who? tamaki?’ you didn’t like that feeling one bit.
no matter how many times he screwed up and misunderstood or failed to satisfy you in a host-client setting, you couldn’t give up on him. your mum’s words echoed in your ears, reminding you that men are a waste of time, that they just suck the soul out of you, that they’re not worth the heartbreak — but you were weak. and especially weaker than your mother. she disagreed, of course, but what did she know?
time seemed to start flowing normally again, tamaki wasn’t distant, haruhi and you never spoke to exchange more than greeting words, and your obsession was flourishing once more. you’d shower the halfer with gifts, spending a stupid amount of money — which the host club’s “mum” greatly appreciated — and you didn’t regret it one bit. everything was going smoothly, except for that tiny voice in your head.
it wasn’t until one of the host club’s organised excursions at the beach when your gut proved to be right. you wore your favourite swimwear for tamaki, and his compliments became straight up electricity up your spine. and just as you went to flirt with him like always,
“yo milord don’t forget about y/n’s gift today!” a familiar voice echoed by the palm trees. you could immediately tell it was hikaru, but you didn’t really understand what he meant. ah! perhaps they were expecting you to bring tamaki a gift again? well, you did, but this one felt a bit more personal so maybe you should tell him not to talk about it with the hosts— “even if it’s something stupid again, you ought to thank her for—”
the twins emerged from the bushes only to see you standing by the corner, hidden by the wall from their previous view. tamaki stood there, next to you, frozen. his facial expression almost screaming at the ginger to shut up but he’d been too late.
you furrowed your eyebrows at the two boys before turning your head to that stupid boy you were head over heels for.
“what?” you asked, obviously confused. but it didn’t take long to understand the situation.
tamaki thought your gifts were stupid, and he discussed it with his friends. and none of them thought to tell you. at least that's what the situation told you.
for what reason? well it could be a) manners or b) they didn’t care enough to.
but jokes on you because it wasn’t any of the above, it was c) they had to keep you happy because your mother asked for a favour. the favour being to make sure tamaki didn’t abandon you.
well, that’s not exactly what tamaki said when he pulled you to the side to explain, but it’s what the twins confessed to when you started poking for the truth.
you were more than disappointed with the news, your gut feeling now transferring to your throat and making it so tight you couldn’t get any words out, so you returned to your beach bed, dragging it away from tamaki’s. but the universe seemed to really hate you that day.
“miss l/n, is everything okay?” haruhi’s ever-annoying voice reached your ears and all you wanted to do was turn around and strangle her small little neck until it snapped. it was her fault. it was because of her that the boy you swore would become your boyfriend before graduation would no longer be apart of that plan. her. her, that stupid bi—
“i’m fine haruhi.” you smiled at her and continued dragging your bed across the sand to get away from this madness. you didn’t bother with any formalities.
“do you need help? i could bring your things so you don’t—”
“for fuck’s sake will you shut up?!” you snapped, raising your voice at the host. she didn’t say anything, just nodding and bowing before leaving. thankfully nobody else had been around to witness the scene, or you would’ve been involved in ouran gossip. only gods know how tiresome that is.
tamaki didn’t come to talk to you after that, you wanted to believe he wanted to and the hosts told him to give you space, but at this point you gave up all hope. he wanted haruhi, some cross-dressing nobody, a commoner, and you could do nothing about it.
the bracelet you had in your bag stayed there, and there it would remain for the rest of your trip. you’re kind of glad you never got to give it to him, at least it saved you the embarrassment of possibly being ridiculed by a bunch of boys calling themselves “hosts” with no shame.
but you guessed you were the one who should be ashamed; for wanting a host — a man notorious for seeing women as bank accounts.
when you went back home, you didn’t talk to your mum about the twins’ confession. sure, you were angry, but you knew she just wanted you happy. as for tamaki, he’d texted you a couple times but you knew if you called him you’d just burst into tears, so you went straight to bed, not bothering to wash the sand and sea salt off your body.
the following month had been… weird. you didn’t bother dropping by the host club anymore. kyouya, expecting this, just sighed and deleted you from the list of clients. he didn’t think you’d come back again after the fiasco at the beach.
haruhi, however, felt bad for some reason. like, okay, yeah, you were a bit more than mean sometimes and yeah, you barely looked at her if not to glare at her to get lost, but you didn’t seem like a bad person. your affection toward tamaki seemed genuine, and your last interaction didn’t sit well with her. it wasn’t the usual glare, eye roll, scoff, avoidant gesture or whatever else you “greeted” her with. this time it seemed more hurt, more… defeated. and she was right. because you’d been defeated.
haruhi had won.
she didn’t know, but she didn’t have to. because at the end of the day, it was all one-sided. one-sided affection, and one-sided dispute.
the twins both had different reactions to this revelation. kaoru (being the emotionally intelligent one) felt guilty for not handling the situation better but hikaru (the… other one) told him not to bother, and that they did what they could. he’d miss having you around, but you were never super close to begin with.
as for tamaki, he didn’t really register what had happened at first. when his hosting routine started again but without you in it, his clients had some questions.
“is it true that you kicked l/n out of the host club?”
“i mean what did you expect, she had it coming after harassing haruhi like that.”
“yeah, i agree. i mean, i understand some jealousy, but wasn’t that a bit too much? it’s not like tamaki’s her boyfriend.”
“i don’t think she was too harsh, but i guess the hosts know better…”
tamaki didn’t know what to make of this. he’d never kicked you out of the club, he thought you’d come back. you always did. if you were jealous, all you had to do was say you wanted more attention and he’d give it it to you. after all, you were a client, you had every right.
wait, what was that?
“whatever do you mean, princess?” he questioned in that melodic voice of his. “haruhi and y/n are on perfectly good terms, we’re all friends here!” he smiled widely and sat his cup down, using his pinky to erase the klank! noise.
“come on tamaki, you don’t have to keep such appearances around us.” one of the clients giggled. “we could all see it. to be honest, i never really noticed her much until haruhi came around.”
another girl continued, “yeah, totally. i hope it wasn’t a repeat of anayokoji, at least.” she rolled her eyes. “she seemed nice… such a shame.”
“i… don’t understand, ladies. what are you saying?” tamaki looked puzzled. the four girls looked back at him and at each other. it was times like these that tamaki showed he was a little dumb.
“tamaki… l/n is totally into you. she’s, like, super jealous of haruhi.”
Tumblr media
tamaki didn’t know what to do with this information. he was pretty annoyed when kaoru made fun of him for not noticing until now. and really, he didn’t notice. he was told.
“why do you think our mums got involved? this is what the female sex calls ‘girl issues’, sir.”
tamaki resisted biting their heads off; he had no time for their bullshit. he had to meet with you and apologise, right?
y/n>.< : y/n? can we talk please?
you didn’t respond. neither to that, nor to the other 10 messages he spammed you with. calling you sent him straight to voicemail, and he swore if he heard that damn automatic message voice again he would explode.
why did it happen this way? why were you even jealous of haruhi? did he look gay to you? but then you wouldn’t want him, right? his head was filled with so many questions, until haruhi answered them all with a single sentence.
“don’t sulk too much senpai, it was inevitable that she’d find out about me and get suspicious.” she patted his shoulder, “i guess that’s what happens when you’re a popular boy surrounded by women.”
tamaki’s head rose from his knees, his eyes wide staring at haruhi’s. “wait, what do you mean ‘she’d find out about you’?”
haruhi sighed and sent him a look of pity. “oh yeah, you guys don’t know. y/n’s known about my sex for a while now.” she shrugged. “she saw me changing.”
a light bulb went off in most of the hosts’ heads (wait, i’ve seen this before) before they all glanced at each other in mutual understanding.
“i wish we would’ve gotten closer since we’re both girls and you’re so obsessed with me having female friends, but i would feel horrible if i made her feel sad whenever she’s around me.” haruhi continued.
oh, so he didn’t look gay, you just knew haruhi was also a girl.
but why would you get jealous of his little girl? he was just protecting her like a father would.
“oh will you stop with that crap, milord?” hikaru whined “we all know, there’s no point in denying it anymore.” he stopped when his brother slapped him on the head and they left the room.
“well, club activity’s over. we’ll see you guys tomorrow.” they all waved goodbyes and soon enough so did haruhi, but tamaki just sat on the club couch, thinking about his (very) recent discovery.
so he came to the conclusion:
you like(d?) him → he likes (???) haruhi → you realised and grew jealous → he prioritised her over you → he ended up looking like an asshole.
because he is an asshole.
“guess that’s what happens when you’re just too pretty.” he joked to himself, but he had a feeling you wouldn’t find it funny if you were here.
Tumblr media
“mum, why did you and dad divorce?” you finally found the courage to ask the woman when she was relaxing in her bedroom one night. she sighed and looked at you, putting her book to the side and patting the spot on the bed next to her. you got in, looking at her expectantly.
“i didn’t want to tell you this because you were so young. you looked up to him very much.” she gave you a sad smile and caressed your cheek. “your father fell in love with someone else, darling.”
you stayed quiet for a bit, and your mum grew worried. should she not have told you?
“is that why you asked tamaki not to leave me?” you asked and your voice cracked. your mother sighed and apologised, wrapping her arms around you.
“i want you to be happy, y/n. don’t be like me. please.”
maybe love really wasn’t something the gods wanted to bestow upon your bloodline.

And I'm back, women in anime are depicted so terribly its wild. I just wanted to come and say, fuck elizabeth (nnt/7ds), fuck orihime (bleach), and fuck hinata (naruto, but fuck her a little less cs i kind of like her)
It makes me angry that in almost every shonen, the main character has a personality and a life and things that they go through and have to overcome... and then theres the love interest. Always airheaded, always soft spoken, always kind, with no willpower at all. In bleach, I would ship rukia with ichigo so hard if she wasn't perfect with renji.
Bleach was actually insane because literally every female character had a personaltity except Orihime. I do like that Fairy tail is set apart from the rest because Lucy is kind of sort of the main character so she gets to have a personality too. Fanservice is like an obvious thing that I hate about anime and it takes away so much. If an anime was a 10 before factoring the fan service, it would be brought down to a 7 or 6 afterward. Orihime sucks over all, 2/10 love interest.
I'm pretty sure most of my hate of Winry (Fullmetal Alchemist) is stemmed from the countless anti-winry fanfiction I've read but she's a great standalone character. The only flaws I see in her is that she does the crying for the male mc thing, which is really out of character for her when I think about it. She has willpower, she's strong and independent, if anything she'd be travelling with them and staying strong for them because she understands that she's a liability if she breaks down crying at every bruise they get. That's more in character to me, but I suppose she is also a teenager so... I can't be too mad at her. All in all, Winry is an amazing female love interest. 9/10 love interst/mc.
Haruhi from Ouran Highschool really breaks the stereotype and gives us a refreshing view on women in anime. She wasn't obsessed with love, she didn't really care too much about anything. She wasn't the typical "yells at you for literally anything" female mc, or the "nice shy and airheaded" female mc. She wasn't even unique and I love that, she's genuinely a regular ass girl, and she was so hilarious. She's probably my favorite girl in anime if I'm being honest. 10/10 female love interest/mc.
Let's talk about Elizabeth. Elizabeth from 7ds is such a disgrace.. She sat and let Meliodas molest her and didn't care at all. You can tell when an anime is written by a man, and not to knock ALL anime written by men because there's some amazing ones out there, but things like that just make it so obvious. Diane and her obsession with Meliodas was weird too, it seemed a bit too much like a harem anime in season 1 and bits of season 2. Elizabeth was the typical soft spoken and overly kind love interest that I hate. Not a drop of personality there and then she has to blush with everything she says.. All in all, 0/10 love interest.
Last but not least, my dear Tohru Honda... Words cannot describe how much I love her. On the outside it looked like she was the typical soft spoken and overly kind female mc but she actually blew my mind. Her willpower is incredible, the fact that she stayed after finding out what Kyo really was and refused to leave. It wasn't a weird kind of moment where she was just blushing and refusing to leave because that's what the writers decided she was gonna do, but it was actually a great scene that showed who she was at her core. I loved how at the end of the series she disagreed with Kyo. "I might be nice but I do stand my ground." God, I love Tohru. It's like her kindness was genuine and real and so was her worry and concern for the Sohmas. All in all, 10/10 female love interest/mc.

✨️my favorite hitachiincest moments✨️
these ridiculous homos (affectionate) are living rent free in my head and i *need* to rant abt them, so without further ado, here are my favorite hitachiincest moments, in episode order! ohshc spoilers abound, etc., etc.
warning for a LOT of yap about my favorite brother kissers below the cut
ep. 4
the fucking. the basketball AU scene. THE BASKETBALL AU SCENE. they took an extremely homoeroticized genre of anime and plopped the twins into it with immense amounts of romantic tension and i'm just supposed to be, like. completely fine???? well i am not fine. i am in fact writing basketball player! hitachiin twins hitachiincest fanfic in my head as i type this.
ep. 5
THE ADMISSION THAT THEY SLEEP IN THE SAME BED. THESE BOYS ARE, WHAT? 15, 16ISH YEARS OLD? AND HIKARU IS TALKING ABT HOW KAORU SLIPS INTO BED W/ HIM EVERY NIGHT BC NEITHER ONE LIKES SLEEPING ALONE. Y'ALL. *Y'ALL*.
THE FACT THEY WERE FAKING THEIR WHOLE FIGHT. honey mentions he's known them since pre-school and they've never fought, and once they actually do, THE FIGHT ISN'T EVEN REAL.
the fact that they do the whole "brotherly love" bit when they apologize abt what they said to each other when they were "fighting" but there are literally NO guests around. like. these boys absolutely just enjoy the ridiculousness and performativity of making their relationship look like that lmao
ep. 7
no hitachiincest moments here for me, but i am putting an honorable mention for honey and mori. like. this was so their episode, guys. (i ship them too, which should be a surprise to absolutely no one)
ep. 12
again, no hitachiincest here bc the universe hates me ig, but another honorable mention for honey and mori. like. *them*. *their dynamic*. aughhhh akdrjwgwusjags *THEM*
ep. 14
this episode has what is singlehandedly my favorite "brotherly love" moment in the entire anime. like. that shot of kaoru's neck as hikaru tilts his chin up will live rent-free in my mind forever.
ep. 15
the start of this episode. oh my god. THE START OF THIS EPISODE. sleepy kaoru in bed with hikaru trying to wake him up. both of them in bed shirtless. kaoru DRAPING HIMSELF OVER HIKARU AS HIKARU ANSWERS THE PHONE. i- dear lord they starved us hitachiincest shippers for a bit but by GOD did they make up for it
"i guess you guys really are always together" "always" HIKARU. HIKARU YOU CAN'T BE DOING THIS TO ME.
hikaru's reaction after kaoru gets hurt!! it's just a minor scrape but hikaru is so worried abt him!! the "don't scare me like that"! HIKARU'S HEAD RESTING ON KAORU'S CHEST!
the scene after that, where they're alone in their room in the bed and breakfast and hikaru is actively SHAKING because he's so scared abt what could've happened to kaoru, and kaoru reassures him that he's fine, and everything's okay. like. my god. i love them sm
ep. 20
i love this episode if only bc we get twin lore. like. i love their lore sm. ALSO. the usage of the word "twisted" in regards to them meaning both "wrapped together/entwined" AND "abnormal"? like YES. they ARE twisted and i'm obsessed with it!!
ep. 21
when hikaru and haruhi get trapped together and hikaru's first thought after complaining about them being trapped was "where's kaoru, i *have* to find him", freaking out enough about where he was to literally immediately start trying to escape the net so he could go find him!!! like!! we're in the middle of the codependency arc and this man STILL cannot stop. (and i love him for it)
them reuniting!! kaoru blushing the second he sees hikaru!! the hug!! the fact that hikaru was so worried abt finding kaoru he LOST HARUHI?? like!! no one will ever be as important as kaoru to him and that 👏 is 👏 a 👏 fact 👏
KAORU'S FACE WHEN HE REALIZES THAT HIKARU SPED OFF TO FIND HIM. LIKE. THAT MAN IS *THINKING*. HE HAS SOME THOUGHTS ABOUT THIS.
KAORU'S LINE ABOUT HOW "EVERYTHING'S FINE" BECAUSE HIKARU RAN TO HIM. HE'S STARTING TO REALIZE HE DOESN'T WANT TO LOSE HIKARU TO HARUHI. THAT HE STILL CARES ABOUT HIM IN THE SAME WAY AS ALWAYS AND CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE HIM.
kaoru's face when he sees hikaru walk off with haruhi. that is not the face of someone who is happy or likes what's happening!! he's upset!! he doesn't want to do this!! but he's sacrificing himself and his feelings so that maybe, just maybe, hikaru can be happy without him one day!
how kaoru says himself he's not sure what he'll do once hikaru realizes he wants to do things alone!! he doesn't know what'll become of him without his brother!! maybe he doesn't *want* to know, because he's scared of losing hikaru! he wants things to stay the same, but he also wants so desperately for hikaru to have someone other than him, and a life outside of their little bubble! he's self-sacrificing for hikaru!!!
ep. 25
i am probably looking too deeply into this but. i believe that comment from kaoru abt how just because he and hikaru are twins doesn't mean they'd both be good drivers is like. the first time in the whole show he acknowledges, AROUND/TO HIKARU, that they're different people. like. guys. guys CHARACTER GROWTH
aaandddd...
that's everything!
if u made it this far, ty for listening to my rant abt my favorite gay twins of all time <3
expect more hikakao from me bc i will never get over these two

KyoKao and saying I love you
I have a deep obsession with @pumpkinmetaphor ‘s entire blog and how they analyze Kyoya and Kaoru and their dynamics, and now its just on my brain.
(Also the slow burn is officially charring my bone marrow it’s so ingrained in my body, I need to talk about some “getting together” ideas if I’m gonna make it to the next update.)
So like, “I love you”, right?
Kyoya obviously isn’t gonna say it first. It’s inefficient, especially since Karou *knows*, so why would he say it? Also, that’s a pretty vulnerable position to put yourself in, and the other person too. Now they feel like they have to say it back, and that’s rude. AND-and and - it’s manipulative, don’t you think? Like yeah, I love him so it wouldn’t be a lie, but what am I *really* trying to get out of it? Huh? Mutual affection? Selfish.
(Kyoya’s an idiot. Tell people you love them.)
Okay but if Kyoya isn’t saying it, Karou DEFINITELY isn’t fucking saying it. And risk the (high) chance Kyoya won’t even say it back? No way.
And why would he say it back? Karou couldn’t even *PICTURE* Kyoya saying it. It would be weird. It would be boring. Karou knows Kyoya loves him. He thinks. At the very least, Kyoya *likes* Karou, or else Kyoya wouldn’t even be hanging out with him. Or letting Karou hang out with him. (Has Kyoya ever initiated hanging out? Yes. Of course he has. When has he-?) Kyoya doesn’t have to love Karou. They hang out, Karou is fine with just this. This is fine. For now. Karou will be fine with it for as long as Kyoya is fine with it. And when he stops being fine with it, Kyoya will leave, and that’s also fine. He’s fine! Karou’s fine.
And so this is their anxiety filled life for a while. On good days, Kyoya will try to do things that Karou can say for certain is an act of love, like buying him stuff or letting Karou do annoying things Kyoya won’t let anyone else do. Sometimes, they’ll look at each other and Karou will know what Kyoya means, and Kyoya will know that Karou knows he knows what it means. And that’s the same thing as saying it, right?
And then on bad days, Karou will spiral and rethink every interaction they’ve ever had. Did that mean anything? Am I reading into it? (On these days, Karou gets extra annyoing and attention seeking as punishment for Kyoya not just fucking saying it, and to test if Kyoya will let him.)
And then one day, Kyoya is visiting Tamaki and Haruhi for whatever reason. And Tamaki says “I love you” CONSTANTLY, which is intense. But Haruhi still says it a reasonable amount, like when one of them leaves or just when she feels like it.
And Kyoya is like “Why?”
And Haruhi shrugs and is like “You never know when he needs to hear it.”
And Kyoya is like (paraphrasing) PFFT. That’s dumb. Karou and I don’t need to do that….we’re sophisticated.
But then one day, Karou and Kyoya are hanging out. Maybe they’re just laying on the couch, maybe Karou had a particularly bad day but doesn’t want to talk about it or bring attention to it. Maybe Kyoya knows, because Karou is never this quiet for this long, but he doesn’t know why.
And maybe Haruhi’s words pop into Kyoya’s head. And so maybe he says it.
And its everything.

The Art of Unplanning (Kyoya Ootori x fem!OC)
I just rewatched the anime the other week and though about how the 15years old me used to be really obsessed with this anime/manga and i think i owe her to make a fic about her favorite character so this is just a very self-indulgent thing
Kyoya's centric fanfic based on the post-manga events. So... A lot of spoilers of the manga basically if you ask me of some warnings. Plus explicit language and eventual smut in the future. Also i know this story is from 2006 but i just decided to based the fic in nowadays bc i need to include social media on it lol sorry not sorry.
Its also Kyoya's POV mostly of the story. A classic slow burn, enemies to friends to lovers, sunshine/grumpy trope and a lot of denial of feelings. Haruhi and Tamaki as a golden otp because they're everything to me and Tamaki and Kyoya's friendship being a main thing in this plot because their dynamic is priceless ok. So... I hope you enjoy!
Summary: Kyoya Ootori always had a plan, but over the years and thanks to his friends, he had realized that a bit of improvisation could yield very good results. He hadn’t planned on spending his last year of high school abroad, but when Haruhi and Tamaki went to Boston, he decided it wouldn’t hurt to get a head start on the inevitable. It wasn’t also part of the plan to end up applying to universities in the United States either, or for Tamaki to show up at his house unannounced when Haruhi had too much studying to do and needed to focus, but those were acceptable surprises.
Yes, there were many things that weren’t planned and turned out well, but many more, like meeting that spoiled brat, had disaster written all over them from the start.

Round 1 | Poll 4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
~ Note: This poll is being done out of a genuine love and affection for these types of characters! Please keep that in mind when adding commentary.
Propaganda under the cut!
Ryuji:
~ Likes to talk loudly in public spaces about the illegal things he and his friends are doing.
~ He’s a little shit - he is super talkative, very obnoxious, has dumb catchphrases and never thinks before he acts. He is weirdly unpopular in the jpn fanbase and is constantly beaten up in canon and fanon, but he’s pretty well loved in the western fandom!
~ He’s a little slow on the uptick and has a tendency to talk first think later. He’s also a lot less aware of his surroundings, once accidentally outing himself as a Phantom Thief to someone (yes she ended up being a good guy and joined them but still). He’s also a part of a fairly annoying plot point when one member of the team goes missing thanks partially due to his actions, though the fandom has mostly forgiven him for that.
Tamaki:
~ Omfggg where to begin Tamaki thinks hes the main character of a romance anime and like true but he also really annoying. And makes puppy dog eyes every time he wants something. The host club mostly ignore him when hes talking about how beautiful he is even though hes the club president
~ Pretty much all the main characters admit to finding him annoying because he can be silly and overly dramatic.
~ He is completely oblivious to everything going on around him and he is rich and doesn't understand anything about regular life
~ Dear god EVERYTHING about this man is Blond and Annoying. I love him <3
~ Literally the entire show and everyone in the cast thinks hes annoying af [ included a youtube link that i unfortunately had to omit because this won't show up in the tags otherwise </3 ]
~ Tamaki is the most insufferable motherfucker in the world. He’s homophobic. He thinks he’s hot shit. He’s stupid. He talks too much. He sulks endlessly when upset. He has no boundaries at all. His only skills are piano and flirting. He insists that the gnc female lead should be more feminine frequently (for a very long time anyway, he stops eventually). Said lead’s first impression of him was “obnoxious.” For these reasons be brings me joy.
~ "It's not everyday God creates a perfect person like moi, beautiful both inside and out." Loves romance but can't recognize his own feelings as romantic. He thinks of his emotions towards Haruhi as "fatherly love" and therefore refers to himself as her "daddy".
~ cmon this is the Ouran website. tamaki sweep. he is Exhausting god bless
~ overdramatic stupid self-obsessed rich boy (affectionate)

I live! I know I don't post much but I am posting this for @elmushterri >:3c I really got obsessed with her as soon as I started thinking about her for the TKH Terri is writing. I wont lie I was so heavily inspired by shoujo manga's and that's where her style mainly came from(thank you Haruhi from OHHC). Nana was also another big inspiration. The way I came up with her design was through cherri cherri lady by Modern Talking. Been a little obsessed with that song too. Her name is Aysel! Aysel Suzumiya. She ended up dying when saving her family from a house fire. Her parents were away and her little siblings were all alone with her when it broke out. She lost her arm as she was dying in the burning house so when she came too again, she saw herself in a temple made of pure white marble. It was a wild ride for her when she discovered she actually died but became a knight. She read her handbook from front to back as soon as she could. To be honest, she has no idea how to feel about her death still. She was a hopeless romantic waiting for her date the night she died. She was all dolled up and everything. She was going to graduate high school the next school year(being that she was a junior). She attends school now but she lives with her family again who are keeping her newfound abilities a secret just to keep her safe. But she knows she will never live a normal life anymore.

Who’s your most favorite character out of every fandom you’re in?
i love this question!!! growing up I've been in A LOT of fandoms that def shaped who i am today 😭 but most of them are dead. I'll just list some that r kinda active/still think about
1. Viktor from Arcane
Tumblr media
Okay, Caitlyn comes in 2nd. But he's my most favorite. I initially loved him for his grumpy attitude and his accent (who doesn't) but his childhood story made me fall in love with who he is a little bit more. :')) i like how he's dedicated to his work and how he decided to take the risk in helping Jayce when it came to magic. this guy's an inventor, a scientist, and a dreamer. and i love those types of people!!! anyway i just want him to be happy
2. Reigen from Mob Psycho 100
Tumblr media
i LOVE this unhinged man. everything is perfect about him even though he is literallt imperfect. loved his chatlracter development the most. anyway its reigen so i dont think i have to explain why hes my favorite.
i also just want him to be happy
3. Fischl from Genshin
Tumblr media
She's one of my first characters in the game and even though her stats aren't that good i keep trying to let her be part of the team 😞 im too attached to her. She's pretty and im obsessed with her design but i loved her antics and silliness the most. she is jus like me forrreeall. i love beidou too (i love strong pirate boss woman<3) but fischl is just a character i relate to more. I ALSO WANT HER TO BE HAPPY!!!
4. Madoka from Madoka Magica
Tumblr media
5. Eddie from IT
Tumblr media
6. Will Graham from Hannibal
Tumblr media

Can I ask, if you have top favorite romantic couples (can be canon or non canon) of all time from any media? Why love them? Thx :D
hi! this is kind of scary to answer HAHA but im trying to remember that this is tumblr... not twitter. actually, im not that much of a shipping fan in the way i dont go looking for ship content, but i do enjoy seeing content ppl make of them if they appear on my TL lol also im privy to a pairing with design compatibility and are easy on the eyes so lots of these have that as a strong reason
satosugu (jjk)
surprise surprise. a lot of the plot for jjk happens because of the events in 2006 (spv/hidden inventory arc), i really like how gege told their story and how their characters are then built upon the events that befell on them. the parallels between them really interests me, but theres definitely more qualified people to explain their dynamic than me LOL. who doesnt love a good white/black trope! plus the jjk fandom is big enough for there to be amazing content made of them, so no shortage here. there was a point in time before my bllk phase where i was so obsessed w them that everything around me started to remind me of them, i cld not listen to a single song without acquainting it to them.
chosoyuki (jjk)
in the simplest way i can explain, their dynamic is basically...
Tumblr media
atleast that's what i got from their interactions while protecting tengen! at the same time, they're both really strong so it makes for good balance. plus their designs are really neat together! strong cool biker gf and alt aesthetic bf (who loves his lil bros)! i like them as partners in crime and tbf i think id go ballistic and wld rip someones head off i see yuki kissing a MAN. but i wish yuki could carry choso bridal style off into the sunset after they murder kenjaku and live in a picket fence house
soukoku (bsd)
im horrified of the bsd shipping fandom but the whole ex-partners thing is amazing cause you get the "i hate you, i know everything about you, every night i think of how i would kill you, i understand you better than anyone else, i see right through you." their relationship is insane to me, like idc romantically or platonically it just works so good...
here are ships that i love but dont think really need too much explaining!
haruhi x tamaki (ouran)
yuki x machi (fruit basket)
i hope no one attacks me but idgaf abt tohru and kyo PLEASE just give me them
mitsuri x obanai (kny)
AHHHHH!!!! mitsuri who had tried to change herself to fit other people's standards, obanai who always accepted every part of her. obanai who hated women bcs of the twisted household he was born into, eventually found mitsuri and she was the first one he thought to be BEAUTIFUL AHHH!
beidou x ningguang (genshin)
im excluding any other genshin and hsr bcs im particularly scared of those fandoms LOL

Hope you don’t mind me asking lol, I stumbled upon your blog and I see you are in the throes of Ouran hyperfixation 😅 What are your opinions on each member of the host club?
yes im definitely in the throes thanks for noticing<3 lol. i'd be delighted to share my opinions on each member of the host club !! this will be LONG bc i have a lot to say about these binches (also this will have manga spoilers). so i'll put it under a cut
Haruhi—honestly what's not to love. she's scruffy and apathetic and grumpy and direct and 300% done with everything, including gender conformity. "these damn rich people" yes king go off. also you're so valid for being 90% motivated by food. it's such a perfect and fascinating idea to drop a person like fujioka haruhi into a group of ridiculous dramatic people like the host club and see how they fare. impressively well, actually. she cleans up nice and is surprisingly charming and intuitive underneath the apathy. but this is only what you find out in like the first episode!!! she grows so much over the course of the story, especially in the manga, and it warmed my heart so much and made me so proud of her 😭 how her relationship with the host club members changed her as a person and even enabled her to better pursue her lifelong dreams. ugh. i love how falling in love with tamaki gave haruhi such a beautiful character arc. first her resistance (which was both understandable and hilarious), because he's so STUPID and RIDICULOUS and in her mind is the last kind of person she'd want to be with, but then she realizes how much she has learned from him and how much he's opened her heart, and she's so inspired by him—to experience new things and understand people better and challenge her preconceived notions and grow to be a better, kinder person, which will make her a better lawyer too. she's actually so brave, to step out of her comfort zone, and connect with others, and to learn how to accept help, when she closed herself off as a coping mechanism when she was so young. she has so much patience to deal with the host club theatrics and a lot of patience with her dad, who is also rather theatrical lol. she had to grow up young and mature so fast and i like how through the host club she learned how to have fun and let other people support and admire her too. ugh i just love her! she has such a soft and good heart and she learns to love so deeply even though it initially went against her nature! she's soooo stray italian greyhound coded to me.
Tamaki—my favorite. one of my favorite characters of all time now actually. im just obsessed with him. i already have a weakness for blond boys with sad backstories and i blorbified him so so fast. as a longtime adrien agreste stan it was inevitable, once i learned about his existence. i saw the most pathetic drama queen loser in all of fiction and i went "yeah he's perfect." i loved him as soon as i watched an episode but i think it was this post that really sold me on him and convinced me to read the manga. i mean isn't he just the guy of all time. as a sillyguy myself i can't not adore him, because he is SO silly and SO dramatic and SO larger-than-life ridiculous, and i am just a big fan of that. but at the same time he has a surprising amount of depth, revealed little by little, that just made me fall even more in love with him as i learned more! cause the thing about tamaki is that everything about him is over-the-top and outlandish—including the size of his heart, and the way he cares about other people, and the lengths he will go to to help them. he's like incredibly narcissistic and incredibly selfless, at the same time. such a fascinating contradiction to me. he has such big feelings whether it's overwhelming grief over a stranger's sob story or unbridled excitement over a mcdonald's happy meal toy. i think all in all tamaki's character can be summed up with one word: love. he just loves everything and everyone to an incomprehensible degree, and that love is transformative. he loves his broken family to the point of wholenesss, and his lonely schoolmates the the point of chosen family, and haruhi to the point of courage—because he was just as confused and afraid as she was, and they both learned to be brave enough to love in a way they always thought was impossible for them. he just loves the whole world and it loves him back, because when you put that much love out there it's bound to be reflected back to you. i love how essentially tamaki annoyed all his friends into becoming his found family lol, because as stupid and obnoxious as he is, he cares SO much, and that's how he won each one over individually, to the point that they'd do practically anything for him. despite being pretty obtuse about himself he's very intuitive about other people and he is able to see them as they really are, in a way they couldn't even see themselves yet, and understand them to a degree that allows them to understand themself. anyway im always crying about him, cause. yeah.
Kyoya—man i love him. so calm and cool and collected and lowkey an evil genius. i love how he plays off tamaki so perfectly. they truly are a married couple lmao. but again!!! in signature ouran fashion, there is much more to him than meets the eye! they're all so much more than the "type" they are assigned! because yes kyoya is the "cool one," the genius one, the guy who always has a plan, the one who's constantly strategizing internally and weighing pros and cons and thinking 9 steps ahead, who only does things for his own benefit … but also underneath he is so passionate. he has all the emotions he tends not to show. fear and anger and grief and love. the anime did such a good job of portraying this because sometimes i think about that scene with him painting inside the golden frame and then it zooms out and he's made a giant beautiful work of art outside the frame, with every color, and i just sort of wanna cry about it. the hidden depths of kyoya ootori...i love that, like haruhi, he learned that it's important to have fun, and if your best friend is a complete idiot, it's good for you! (albeit sometimes detrimental to your health and sanity, lol.) again i loved how they handled it in the anime where in the end he shows his father how intelligent and powerful and in control he was, just to let all of that go, because he found what made him happy, and that was more important than any of it. i love a guy who forms unbreakable bonds first against his will but then puts his whole heart into them! who learns to defy expectations and forge his own path! who learns that happiness is its own end! MAN!! ok also the part in the manga where he spends his whole paris vacation searching for tamaki's mom and completely exhausts himself and falls asleep in the street because of it, just because he wanted to be able to report back to tamaki that she was alive and well. i might cry. im a tamaharu shipper but i have a very soft spot for kyotama.
Kaoru—i get emotional about him sometimes. he is sooooo 😭 ok because at first, the twins are identical both in looks and personality. but as the story progresses, their individuality becomes more obvious, and kaoru reveals himself as the more emotionally mature twin. i love the twins for being mischievous and silly and obnoxious and just a tiny bit evil sometimes, and for always making fun of tamaki (i mean SOMEONE has to), but they both have a lot a depth underneath that which makes them so dear to me 🥺 and kaoru. oh. baby boy. he's so intuitive, often seeing what hikaru is unwilling/unable to see, and so self-sacrificial, always willing to put his brother's needs over his own. the way he was developing feelings for haruhi the whole time, just like hikaru was, but he was the first to realize and admit it to himself, and he gave hikaru space to figure it out too. and then how he is honest with haruhi and confesses to her but in the same breath tells her that his relationship with hikaru is too important to jeopardize, so he bows out gracefully even as he speaks up. UGH! sometimes i just think about that part in the manga where he talks with haruhi about how he wouldn't know what to do if he and hikaru wanted the same thing and both couldn't have it, and then later they have a box of cookies and there's not enough for everyone so he saves his for hikaru, and then haruhi points out that he found the answer to his question, didn't he? about what he would do if they wanted the same thing? so then he ends up stepping back to let hikaru pursue haruhi instead of him, promising to support him, and helping him grow and mature into a better person. wahhhh...... he's a sort of tragic character to me honestly. like it makes me a little sad to think about him. but he just has a good heart, and he ends up happy because the change he was afraid would make him lose the relationships that were most important to him actually made them even stronger.
Hikaru—i think i have a slightly softer spot for kaoru, but i really really love hikaru as well, and i think his character arc is one of the best in the series. he's definitely the brasher/less mature twin in the beginning, who tends to let jealousy and anger get the better of him and he lashes out sometimes because of his frustration and confusion about his own feelings. he struggles with self-awareness and kaoru knows that, which is why he gives hikaru opportunities to self-discover and figure himself out. hikaru falling for haruhi and admitting that to himself and others, even haruhi, was so important for him as someone who always defaulted to keeping others out and viewed everyone but kaoru as an outsider. he really didn't trust anyone but kaoru with his thoughts and feelings, but being part of the club made him open up, examine himself, and consciously choose to mature. one of my favorite hikaru moments is when he dyes his hair dark to show that he's an individual who is separate from his twin and wants to be viewed as such, but at the same time he makes it clear to kaoru that being individuals doesn't mean they have to drift apart or be any less important to each other—and he's determined for them to stay just as close even as they pursue separate paths for the first time in their lives. i also love his rivalry with tamaki over haruhi and how that affects him and forces him to grow. another favorite moment is when he demands that tamaki open his eyes and encourages him to not let his trauma get the best of him. instead of letting tamaki stay ignorant of his feelings for haruhi, which would be to his advantage, he makes tamaki realize them so they could have an equal chance to pursue her. he has so many sweet moments where he feels conflicted about tamaki, wishing he was out of the picture but also feeling so much gratitude and affection for him. he just really loves tamaki, and really loves kaoru, and really loves haruhi, and that love that started out with so much hurt and jealously makes him grow into a more selfless and genuine and mature person, when he finally, like kaoru, bows out and chooses to be happy for tamaki and haruhi. ugh he's a good boy even though he acts like a turd sometimes. lol.
Honey—i don't have as strong of feelings for honey as the others i've gone over but he is still a great character! obviously he's adorable, and i just find him very sweet and enjoyable. and of course the fact that the sweets-obsessed boy lolita who carries around a stuffed bunny is actually a genius and also a martial arts master who can take down 50 guys singlehandedly...yeah it's pretty dope lmao. i love how he learned from tamaki the meaning of true inner strength—not pretending to be something your not for someone else's sake, but being unapologetically YOU and embracing what makes you happy! honey learns to comfortably live a seemingly contradictory life, because he openly loves his cake and cutesie stuff but he remains a strong and well-respected leader and master of the haninozuka martial arts. it's funny and but also very fitting to me that in the manga he ends up with the girl from the black magic club—someone who's different from him in what appears to be every way, but honey is not afraid of contradiction and appreciates people being themselves!
Mori—he's the host i least connect with, just because he doesn't get much focus and also barely speaks lol. but i still love mori! i really admire his loyalty—just the truest friend anyone could ever ask for. he and honey are such an iconic duo. his "lovely item" lol. it's really sweet how much of a natural protector he is—not just how he looks out for honey but also haruhi and the whole host club. he's a very compassionate person with strong principle. one of my favorite mori moments is when he demands a fight with honey just so he feels like he has the right to tell him what to do and remind him to brush his teeth when they're apart for college haha. also shout out to the part where tamaki desperately asks "do you ever think about kissing honey-senpai" because he's freaking out about haruhi and mori says no but later is shown worrying that he screwed tamaki up by lying, because he does actually think about kissing honey 😂
ok this concludes my Opinion Of The Hosts soapbox hour, thank you for asking and sorry i answered:) tldr i love them all lol

Ouran High School Host Club Ep. 4 Review
Previous Reviews:
To Episode 1 Review.
To Episode 2 Review.
To Episode 3 Review.
What Am I Reviewing?
Ouran High School Host Club – Episode 4: Attack of the Lady Manager!
Have I Seen This Before?
Once.
Which Character is the Strongest in Terms of Writing?
Interestingly enough, Renge is simultaneously the strongest and weakest character of the episode. I’ll talk more on the weak points later, but for now I’ll focus on the strong points.
Renge is strong because she’s well-written. Her character is one that infuriates me very much, but the way she’s written helps her make sense. Throughout the episode, Renge is presented as being a shut-in, a jerk, a romcom trope aficionado, and being incapable of distinguishing reality from fiction. We see in the beginning of the episode why this makes sense.
Everything comes down to Renge having a rich and coddling father. Not many people can successfully become shut-ins because something will catch up to them. It can be hunger, rent-payments, hygiene, disease, family, or friends. Simply put, a shut-in isn’t something you can feasibly be in the real world because internal or external influences will intervene. But Renge is a character who can realistically get away with it because her father is rich and is coddling her. Though to be honest, when I say “coddling” the truth of the matter is more the right combination of care and neglect.
Renge’s father keeps his daughter alive and happy, while also doing nothing to help her mature. This explains every other aspect of her character. She is a jerk because she was raised to be enabled at every turn, effectively making her a total brat. She can’t distinguish between fiction and reality because she’s taken her nerdy obsessions too far and her father has done nothing to mitigate it.
Outside of Renge’s father justifying her character by being his own flavour of a terrible parent, there is one thing that adds to the strength of Renge’s character.
I accidentally read a trope on Renge’s TV Tropes character page that reveals that she was right about each Host Club member when assigning their “dark sides” to them. This means that her place in the overall canon is justified because she’s foreshadowed how each character will be explored. Something I’d like to say about this is that the trope description only said that she was accurate, nothing else was specified. To put it simply, I know that she was right, I do not know how she was right.
Which Relationship is Strongest in Terms of Writing?
Haruhi and Tamaki.
Their dynamic remains the same; Tamaki is a drama queen spouting fluff while showing an occasional serious side to his romantic feelings while Haruhi thinks he’s full of himself and tries to avoid his nonsense. The difference is that they get more one-on-one moments to contribute to their growing romance. It is particularly emphasized that Tamaki’s romantic feelings for Haruhi are serious. He was genuinely touched when she said she preferred him as he is (even if she said that to avoid more drama). Also, while we have seen Tamaki become defensive of Haruhi, this episode marks the first time he was shown losing his temper on her behalf. This furthers the emotional drama of the relationship and makes their endgame status more believable.
Which Character is Weakest in Terms of Writing?
As I said before, Renge is a strong character because she’s a character that makes sense and she contributes to the greater canon. However, she is also the weakest character of the episode for one reason. She’s dumb.
As I stated before, Renge is unable to tell reality from fiction. While her background shows why she thinks this way, it comes with two problems that weakens the episode.
The first problem is that this creates a conflict that is reliant on the Idiot Plot with none of the reasons it worked in Episode 2. In Episode 2, the conflict was successful because it was deliberately dumb to address the stupidity of romcom clichés. In this episode, Renge’s inability to distinguish reality from fiction isn’t a romcom cliché, it’s just Renge being dumb. And when the conflict boils down to an Idiot Plot, it is not compelling. Instead, the conflict is either frustrating because of how dumb it is or tiring because of how dumb it is.
The second problem is a trope known as the Anti-Escapism Aesop. When this trope shows up it uses nerdy characters like Renge and shows their problematic relationship with fiction to make a point that fiction is bad and people shouldn’t enjoy it. There are two problems with this. First, this kind of lesson is presented in a fictional medium, which is hypocritical. Second, this trope has set a long-standing history wherein the nerdy character like Renge is a stand-in for the audience. This is a very bad idea. It’s an insult to the audience when writers try to say, “This character who likes fiction is a problematic person, therefore you are a problematic person because you like fiction.”
I’ll admit that I don’t know if Renge is meant to be an example of the Anti-Escapism Aesop, but that trope has already set a pattern of insulting the audience. Either way, I see Renge’s problematic behaviour as a bad writing decision, because it carries an insult that an audience wouldn’t take kindly to.
Which Relationship is Weakest in Terms of Writing?
Nothing comes to mind. There is no relationship that brings the episode down.
How is the Conflict?
It’s stupid. The basis of this episode’s conflict is an Idiot Plot, with Renge’s inability to distinguish fiction from reality being the source of it all. This idea of the “inability to distinguish fiction from reality” is especially bad to have a key character presenting in a story, because the existence of the Anti-Escapism Aesop has set a pattern where that characteristic is a reflection of the audience. What I mean is that by having a character who is fiction-obsessed and showing them as an idiot, the writer can be seen as saying, “That idiot is you” to the audience.
Let it be known that I despise the Anti-Escapism Aesop and all that it implies. It always brings a work down by insulting audience members for daring to enjoy stories, and artists for writing them.
The only saving grace for this conflict is that when Renge gets called out for her nonsense, Haruhi is making a point that people are better than what Renge believes.
Is there Anything Else I can Praise or Criticize?
I didn’t give enough credit to Haruhi calling Renge out for her nonsense. Haruhi’s ultimate message to Renge was less about calling her an idiot and more about saying that humanity is good. This is something I can appreciate because it fits into an overall theme of the show. This moment fits in conjunction with Haruhi telling Suzushima that people can change the moment they choose to, and Tamaki choosing to give Yabu a fair chance to talk to his daughter. All three of these moments fit a pattern of the show’s formula. Part of that formula is the moral lesson ending with a message that humanity is inherently good. This presents the show’s intention of spreading an idealistic message and trying to restore faith in humanity. And that is something I can get behind.
What Writing Lesson Can I Take from This Episode?
I’d recommend never using the Anti-Escapism Aesop. It has set too much of an insulting example for too long, so I can’t see it being welcome anywhere. If you choose to use it anyways then be very careful.

@omegaewigkeit sent in: ooc: what are itsuki's flaws?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
he has many, but i'll list my top three:
DISINGENUINE.
itsuki is rarely every honest — and if he is, it's nearly impossible to tell, as he will often brush things off as jokes or contradict himself later. he keeps up a smiling facade around school — especially haruhi and kyon  — that has actively begun to take a toll on him. he loathes the fact that he cannot act as himself, that he can't be open, but he is ridiculously stubborn in keeping his persona. to the point he finds himself wearing this mask of his even when not intending to; like it's become a habit he cannot break.
PARANOID.
you wouldn't expect it from the way he acts on the outside, but itsuki is a very paranoid person. he's constantly overthinking the situations he has been put in, desperate to understand and get a grasp on things. he knows he has been thrust into a world where he is at a disadvantage. and he knows there aren't many people he can trust, if any at all. he's made it to a point where he's even conflicted in his current loyalties, unsure whether he would choose the agency over the brigade. and he fears what may happen due to either result. ——— there have also been very anxious about the idea that he may forget a promise he made to kyon: that if yuki were ever in trouble he would betray the agency  — just that once — and side with them. even if it doesn't benefit him. ever since he made that promise he has asked kyon at least once every other book or so to remind him if he somehow forgets he made such a promise — and constantly checks in to make sure that kyon remembers it was a promise that was made.
NEEDS TO HAVE CONTROL.
he is someone who always wants things to go the way he wants them to. his main goal, alongside the agency, is to keep the status quo. any changes in the world, any deviations from the norm, are something that need to be fixed. it doesn't even seem to matter if it will benefit him or not — or benefit the world as a whole. he likes the world as it is, flaws included. due to this need for control, itsuki is the brigade member who seems most openly obsessed with keeping haruhi's mood in check. as well as going out of his way to attempt to bond with kyon (much to kyon's chagrin), as he knows kyon is the key to getting haruhi to do what he wants. ——— to add onto this, itsuki greatly values having control over himself and his own actions. having been thrust into a chaotic situation, itsuki values keeping his composure over everything else, refusing to truly break character even in the most distressing of situations (ex: that moment when haruhi was crucified in surprise).
as a bonus to this need to keep composure, it no doubt stems from his situation. aka: being gifted his esper powers. at the time he thought he had gone insane, and even when he grounded himself and learned more he mostly just learned that he didn't know anything. that he was in a world that could be shattered in an instant. and there was nothing to do about it other than keep moving forward, fighting celestials, and tending to haruhi's whims. so he represses his feelings, keeping that mask on and hiding himself by having near perfect control over his actions (he may slip here and there for the briefest of moments, he's not perfect). ——— and i can guarantee this is because of his experience as an esper because he does not have this issue at all in disappearance. yes, he's not completely different, still a little smug — but he actively shows discomfort, wears neutral expressions, and even frowns. something very rare for him to do in the main series.
