❤️ — astrid-ingrisdottir
(OOC) Bold of you to send this in November, I love it xD Hopefully this works! There's more explanation in the tags to clarify and give credit where it's due. The image at the very end was a quick edit I did for this, too. ♡ Send ❤️ to receive a Valentine from my muse ♡ Starter for @astrid-ingridsdottir
Tumblr media
Although Valentine's Day was typically a Midgardian celebration, Thor had proposed the idea to Asgard and its people, much to Loki's dismay. His brother had droned on about the various muses through which they expressed themselves: artwork, poetry, songs, ballads, and baking, for starters. However, the comment was followed by Thor's lighthearted banter about who Loki might be interested in, which earned a scowl from the God of Mischief. Despite his brother's teasing, he had someone in mind...
Tumblr media
Upon Asgard, Loki sat off in the corner of the library with a semi-bowed posture, head in his hand and brows furrowed in concentration. He read over the parchment in his hand, composed of several scratched-off lines, and groaned almost inaudibly.
Roses are red, violets are b
Stars upon which you dance
I love thee with a love I seemed to lose
"This is asinine," the trickster hissed under his breath with a tinge of exasperation. Chest heavy with a mix of nerves, determination, and vexation, he lifted his quill and tried again. After a few minutes, he had finally penned up something he was content with. He read it aloud quietly, testing the words upon his lips as though it were a fine Asgardian wine — it needed to be light yet carry a depth, sweet yet not overtly.
Tumblr media
She walks in beauty, like the night Of cloudless climes and starry skies; And all that's best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes; Thus mellowed to that tender light Which heaven to gaudy day denies.
When he was certain it sounded right, Loki sealed it up in an envelope with a wax stamp upon the back. As the days passed by and it approached Valentine's Day, the God grew a bit nervous. It was rare for him to display such vulnerability, and so willingly — particularly for a celebration that revolved around affection, something that he discreetly struggled to show. During the festivities, Loki had waited for the opportune moment, then stole Astrid away from the others, finding a secluded little corner down one of the nearby corridors.
"I've been waiting to give you something," he explained lowly, careful to keep his tone steady. The trickster's gaze seemed to soften as he studied her for a long moment. Then, hesitantly, he produced the envelope he had so neatly left his signature upon and a couple of pristine, violet carnations. "For you, Astrid..."

Under The Mistletoe
pairing: Peter Parker x reader
Masterlist
Tumblr media
“Good morning everyone.” You greeted the Avengers as you walked in the kitchen one morning.
“Good morning.” Peters eyes followed you as you sat down next to him at the table. “I made you hot chocolate.”
“You did? You’re so sweet.” You took the mug from him and kissed his forehead. “Thank you.”
“Well you mentioned last night that you were always freezing in the morning so I thought this would warm you up.” Peter smiled sweetly at you, face flushed from the kiss.
“You’re too good to me. I was gonna put some whip cream on it. Do you want some?” You offered as you went to the refrigerator.
“Sure. Thank you.” Peter nodded as you put some whip cream on his hot chocolate. The rest of the Avengers watched the interaction, exchanging knowing glances every once in a while.
“So, what did you guys do last night?” Natasha asked curiously as she leaned on her hand.
“We went on patrol together and then walked around the city. It was snowing so it was really pretty.” You smiled as you remembered the night before. Natasha and Bruce made eye contact, giving each other a knowing look.
“Didn’t you get cold?” Bruce asked for his own amusement.
“My suit has a built in heater.” Peter told him.
“But Y/n’s suit doesn’t.” Tony added, understanding what was going on.
“Peter had his arm around me so the heat kept us both warm.” You told them as you sipped your mug, making everyone gush.
“Uh huh.” Tony nodded as he watched Peter put his arm around your chair. “So you went for a moonlit stroll through the city. Pretty romantic, don’t you think? Was it a date?”
“What?” Peter sputtered. “No.”
“We’re just friends.” You nodded a few too many times.
“You got some whip cream on your face.” Peter noticed the white dollop on your nose.
“Oh. Oops.” You laughed in embarrassment and went to wipe it off.
“I got it.” Peter wiped your face with his thumb, leaving both of you in a blushing mess.
“Thanks.” You giggled, gazing lovingly into his eyes.
“Right. Just friends.” Rhodey grimaced as he watched the disgusting love fest in front of him.
“So what are you doing today?” Natasha asked, finding the whole situation hysterical.
“We were gonna watch some holiday movies in my room before patrol.” Peter told her.
“Speaking of that, do you want to get started?” You asked him. “We have a lot to get through.”
“Sure. Bye guys.” Peter waved before resting his hand on the small of your back and leading you out of the room. Once you left, the Avengers let out the collective laugh they had been holding in.
“So…they’re in love, right? We can agree on that?” Tony asked as he looked around the room, seeing everyone nod at him.
“I have never seen anyone so whipped.” Rhodey laughed as he sipped his coffee.
“How have they not admitted their feelings?” Nat asked the room. “It’s so obvious.”
“This is worse than me and Nat.” Steve commented.
“Or me and Nat.” Bruce added.
“Or me and Nat.” Tony agreed.
“When are those crazy kids gonna get together?” Steve chuckled as he opened the newspaper.
“This gives me an idea.” Tony narrowed his eyes as he got a familiar devilish glint in his eyes.
“Oh no.” Steve recognized the glint. “This can’t be good.”
“By the end of the holiday season, I want Y/n and Peter to be together.” Tony said decidedly. “This will require a group effort in making it happen. In the weeks leading up to the holidays, I expect each and every one of you to get our dear Peter and Y/n to realize they like each other.”
“How do you expect us to do that?” Nat humored him.
“You will all plant mistletoe somewhere in the building.” Tony grinned wickedly. “The mistletoe that gets the most kisses out of them wins.”
“Wins what?” Bruce asked, just as intrigued as the rest of the team.
“Whatever you want. I don’t know if the giant building with my name on it gave it away, but I have money.” Tony stated. “Lots of it. Or how about this, the winner can pick and design a new room to be added to the tower.”
“I could use a physical therapy room.” Rhodey spoke up. “I don’t know if you guys remember, but my legs don’t work on their own anymore ever since I fell out of the sky.”
“Oh, yeah. I forgot about that.” Steve realized.
“Yeah. Nobody really talks about that.” Bruce agreed.
“I think we could all benefit from a new training room.” Nat threw in. “The old one has a permanent sweaty man smell.”
“We already have a training room. What we really need is some personal up keeping. Keeping myself this blonde is not cheap. A hair parlor in the building would be nice.” Steve suggested.
“Parlor.” Tony chuckled under his breath.
“I second that.” Bucky piped up.
“Of course you do, Jared Leto.” Tony teased.
“We don’t need a hair salon. What we need is another lab.” Bruce declared.
“Or a ballet studio.” Nat gasped.
“I think we should install an Olive Garden.” Bucky shrugged.
“How about a room full of murals of myself?” Thor smiled. “You can all gaze upon them and push yourself to stop being tiny and small.”
“Or another gym.” Rhodey shrugged.
“Or a wine cellar. But for beer! A beer cellar.” Thor cheered.
“We can discuss the room later.” Tony quieted everyone down. “If you really want these things, get the kids together. You know what you have to do.”
Tony
You and Peter often ate breakfast together in the same spot everyday, and Tony used that information to his advantage. He skillfully hung some mistletoe above your usual seats and patiently waited for your arrival. Soon enough, Tony heard your footsteps coming into the kitchen.
“Hey Petey.” You rubbed Peter’s back before taking a seat next to him. “Hi Mr. Stark.”
“Hey guys.” Tony smiled before looking up and gasping. “Oh golly gee, would ya look at that? Mistletoe! Who put that there?”
“Oh, wow.” Peter said as he looked up to see mistletoe hanging above the two of you. “I didn’t even notice.”
“Yeah. I probably wouldn’t have looked up if you hadn’t pointed it out.” You said skeptically as you eyed Tony.
“Ha.” Tony forced a laugh. “Well, now you see it. Bye!”
He quickly left the room and hid behind a wall where he could watch his plan unfold.
“That wasn’t at all weird.” You chuckled as you turned in your seat.
“He probably put Red Bull in his protein shake again.” Peter laughed as well, fingers brushing yours a little on the table.
“Yeah.” You nodded, suddenly feeling awkward now that you were both aware of the mistletoe hanging above your heads. You both looked away from each other, red in the face and sneaking occasional glances at the plant.
“I, um, I’ve never actually seen mistletoe in person before.” Peter said to break the silence. “I’ve only heard about it in songs.”
“Me too.” You nodded rapidly. “Or in movies and stuff.”
“Yeah.” Peter gulped. “And stuff.”
You looked at each other for a moment, shy smiles on your faces.
“I mean, since it’s both of our first times getting caught under it, it’d be a shame not to honor the tradition.” You suggested sheepishly as you averted your eyes.
“Right.” Peter said quickly. “It’s tradition. We basically have to.”
“Yeah. It’s practically a right of passage for the holiday season.” You said simply as you leaned closer to Peter.
“Exactly.” Peter agreed, leaning in as well. Your faces were almost touching now, just a few more inches until contact.
“Um.” You let out a nervous laugh before shutting your eyes and leaning in. Peter met you the rest of the way, your lips connecting directly under the mistletoe. You smiled a little into the kiss before pressing your hand to his cheek to keep him in place. Peter pulled away after a minute, gazing fondly in your eyes as he opened them. He’d been waiting to kiss you for the longest time, and it was just as perfect as he imagined.
“Thanks.” Peter said, squeezing his eyes shut in embarrassment after he said it.
“You’re welcome.” You laughed at him, squeezing his shoulder in admiration.
“I’m glad we could, erm, fulfill the tradition.” Peter laughed at his own awkwardness as he shook his head.
“Me too.” You nodded with a flushed face. “I feel more in the holiday spirit already.”
“Same, same.” Peter trailed off, looking around the room to distract from the awkwardness.
“Can we just pretend that didn’t happen and eat our breakfast?” You requested, looking at him shyly.
“Please.” Peter agreed. “It never happened.”
Rhodey
Bruce was making his way to the lab when he saw Rhodey hiding behind a wall, staring at hanging mistletoe.
“Why are you standing here?” Bruce whispered as he stood behind Rhodey.
“I told Y/n to meet me in the kitchen and I’m sending her a bunch of texts so she keeps her eyes on her phone. I also told Peter to meet me in the theater. They’ll have to go through that doorway where I strategically placed mistletoe. Once they bump into each other, they’ll have to kiss and I’ll get a point.” Rhodey explained his masterplan in a hushed tone.
“Why do you want them to bump into each other? Can’t they just see each other in the doorway?” Bruce whispered back.
“Man, have you ever seen a romantic comedy?” Rhodey sighed. “The girl has to bump into the boy so he knows she’s clumsy and not like other girls.”
“I think you’re getting a little too invested in this. It’s just a room.” Bruce reminded him, beginning to think he was behind on the contest.
“Its not about the room.” Rhodey insisted. “I just want to beat Rogers and his stupid parlor.”
“Shh.” Bruce hushed him. “Here they come.”
Bruce and Rhodey watched as you and Peter smacked into each other in the doorway.
“Oh, sorry. I wasn’t looking.” Peter said as he caught you from falling.
“That’s okay. I wasn’t looking either.” You smiled at him, staying in his arms.
“How are you gonna get them to notice the mistletoe?” Bruce whispered.
Rhodey silently took out a large fan and switched it on, sending a breeze towards you and Peter. The breeze made the bells on the mistletoe chime, causing you and Peter to look up.
“Is that mistletoe?” He asked as he pointed to it.
“It looks like it.” You commented. “I guess Mr. Stark decorated the tower.”
“Kinda crazy we got caught under it twice.” Peter chuckled nervously, hoping he’d get the chance to kiss you again.
“I know. But hey, it’s tradition.” You shrugged, also hoping you’d get to kiss him.
“Yeah. Tradition.” Peter was barely listening to himself speak as he stared at your lips. You laughed a little as your arms went around his neck, pulling him into a soft kiss. It was just as good as the first time, if not better. You pulled away after a moment and sighed against his mouth.
“I, um, I gotta meet Rhodey in the nitchken.” You stumbled over your words.
“Yeah, I’m supposed to see him in the popcorn palace.” Peter spoke, not even knowing what he was saying.
“I’ll see you later, Petey.” You squeezed his arm gently and made your way to the kitchen.
“Bye.” Peter mumbled before going to the theater. Rhodey turned to Bruce with a boastful grin and held a finger to symbolize the point he has just gotten. Bruce swallowed nervously, realizing he had to get on it if he wanted to win.
Bruce
“Banner.” Tony came to Bruce’s side with a suspicious look. “You look awfully devious today.”
“You’re much more likely to walk next to someone than to be caught under a doorway with them. That’s why I put a bouquet of roses and mistletoe on the table between their rooms. Every time they pass it, they’ll have to kiss.” Bruce explained as he turned to Tony with bloodshot eyes. He had been working on the plan all night and it showed.
“You unsuspecting genius.” Tony gasped.
“How is that unsuspected?” Bruce deadpanned. “I’m a certified genius. That’s why I was recruited.
“Yeah? And I’m a certified freak. 7 days a week.” Tony said as he stared at the bouquet of mistletoe. It didn’t take long for you and Peter to come out of your rooms and meet in front of the bouquet.
“Hey, Petey.” You greeted him. “What are you up to?”
“I was gonna grab a snack and then watch Dance Moms compilations.” Peter told you.
“Without me?” You pretended to be offended.
“I was gonna ask you to join.” Peter rolled his eyes sarcastically.
“I’d love to.” You smiled at him. “Let’s go.”
“Wait, is this mistletoe?” Peter realized the bouquet right as you were about to leave.
“Damn, it’s everywhere, huh?” You laughed as you touched the roses, warmed by the color.
“Do we still have to kiss of its not over our heads?” Peter wondered.
“Yes!” Bruce whispered sharply.
“You heard that too right?” Your eyes widened as you looked around for where the voice came from.
“Yeah. I thought it was my conscience.” Peter sighed in relief. Your eyes flickered from the bouquet to Peter, back to the bouquet.
“I mean, we might as well kiss.” You shrugged. “Mistletoe is still mistletoe.”
“You’re right. It would be a waste not to.” Peter nodded eagerly.
“That’s exactly what I was thinking.” You smiled as you pulled him into a kiss. This kiss lasted longer than usual as you both let it linger.
“The plan was smart but you only got one kiss out of it.” Tony whispered to Bruce as you and Peter went to the kitchen.
“Just wait.” Bruce told him. Some enough, you and Peter returned with an armful of snacks.
“Oh, we passed it again.” Peter said robotically, knowing you’d pass it again.
“Oops.” You said sarcastically. “I guess we have to kiss again.”
“Ugh. Every time.” Peter rolled his eyes as he pulled you towards his lips. You gripped his shirt collar and continued kissing him as you pulled him into your room.
“See?” Bruce smirked. “Certified genius.”
Down the hall, Natasha had seen the whole thing, chewing her lips as she came up with a plan.
Natasha
Natasha set her plan in motion a few days later, waiting in the kitchen for you as she stirred a bowl of muffin mix. Peter sat at the counter, reading over one of Bruce’s articles in a book. You came into the kitchen wearing an ugly Christmas sweater that matched Peters, the sight of you making Peter smile.
“Hi Nat.” You beamed at her as you took a seat next to Peter at the kitchen counter. “Whatcha making?”
“I’m making muffins with the berries from mistletoe.” Nat said cheerfully. “They should be really good.”
“You bake?” You asked curiously. “You mean they taught you culinary skills when training you to be an assassin?”
“There’s a lot you don’t know about me. For example, I love ballet. We might even be getting a ballet studio in the tower soon.” She said coyly, making you and Peter exchange a suspicious glance.
“Wow. That’ll be really cool.” Peter played along, skeptically of her intentions.
“Right? Does this look okay to you guys?” Nat asked as she held the mistletoe above your head. “I can’t tell it it’s good to use or not.”
“It looks fine to me.” Peter shrugged as he looked up at it.
“Oh, silly me.” Nat clicked her tongue. “You guys are totally under it. I guess you’ll have to kiss.”
You and Peter exchanged another look before pecking each other on the lips.
“Hmm. I still can’t tell. Can you check again?” Nat asked as she held it up again.
“It still looks fine.” You told her, growing suspicious.
“And you still have to kiss.” She sighed like it was an inconvenience. You narrowed your eyes at her before kissing Peter on the cheek.
“Are you guys sure it’s okay? One more time, please.” Nat held it over your heads a final time. Peter looked at you skeptically before leaning in for a kiss. Both of you were well aware of the sneaky smile on Natashas face.
“Wait, let me see if I can find another one.” Natasha took another bunch of mistletoe out of her grocery bag and pretended to inspect it. She made a whole show of it, making it look like she simply couldn’t find out if it was okay to use. She sighed sadly and looked to you guys for help before holding it up. You and Peter laughed in disbelief before kissing on the lips.
“Wow. Did I accidentally make you guys kiss 4 times?” Nat spoke loudly, as id she was letting all the people in the tower know. “That’s a lot. Looks like we’ll be getting that ballet studio after all.”
“Yeah. That is a lot.” Thor appeared in the doorway upon hearing Natashas declaration. He eyed you and Peter with a ponderous look on his face, becoming aware that he was losing the competition.
“Oops. I just remembered that mistletoe is poisonous.” Nat finished her bit. “Guess I won’t be making these! Bye guys!”
She swiftly left the room, leaving the mistletoe on the counter. You and Peter looked at each other, equally confused about what was happening. Thor walked further into the kitchen and pretended to take interest in the mistletoe. He held it up over his head before holding it over you and Peter.
“Are you two sure this mistletoe is good for use?” He asked, stealing Nat’s idea.
“We’re not kissing for you.” Peter told him flatly.
“I never liked you anyway.” Thor stated as he dropped the mistletoe and left the kitchen. He wandered the tower until he found Pepper reading in the living room.
“Pans. I have some bad news.” Thor sighed as he laid on the couch like he was in a therapists office. “The competition your husband started is rigged.”
“Why do you say that?” Pepper wondered.
“Because I’m losing!” Thor whined. “Gods do not lose to humans. Unless it’s a contest for tiny people.”
“How many kisses have you gotten?” Pepper asked, well aware of the contest.
“0 so far.” He sighed. “Everyone else has four or five. Banner has seven!”
“So you just have to come up with a plan that blows everyone else out of the water.” Pepper shrugged.
“Like what?”
“Everyone else has gotten them to kiss, right?” Pepper asked.
“Yes.” Thor nodded.
“You can get them to date.” Pepper said like it was simple.
“Why, that’s brilliant! Thank you, Pans!” Thor cheered as he got off the couch. “You have done me well.”
“You’re welcome.” Pepper chuckled as she flipped the page.
“Wait, your husband is also in this competition.” Thor realized. “Why are you helping me?”
“Because when Tony wins something, he gets way too cocky and thinks he’s above doing any laundry or cleaning.” Pepper explained. “Someone else has to win or he’ll buy Mexico or something.”
“Thank you, lady Pans.” Thor grinned. “I will not disappoint.”
Thor
“May I come in? I’m just kidding. I am coming in regardless of your answer.” Thor chuckled as he barged into your room. You and Peter had been sitting on the bed, jumping from fear as he came in.
“Hi, Thor.” You said skeptically as Thor pulled up a chair. “Can we help you with something?”
“For the past few weeks, the Avengers have been holding a stupid contest that I am losing to see who can get you two to kiss the most.” Thor explained. “They have been using mistletoe to carry out this stupid contest.”
“Wait, what?” You and Peter looked at each other in shock. Suddenly, the strange behavior and random mistletoe sightings all made sense.
“That’s why there’s mistletoe everywhere?” You asked. “And why did you guys do this in the first place? Why us?”
“Because you two like each other.” Thor shrugged. “And everyone knows it. Except for you two. You don’t know it.”
“What?” Peter sputtered. “We do not-“
“Shh.” Thor hushed him. “Don’t talk to me. Talk to each other. You’re welcome.”
Thor smiled kindly before getting out of his chair and leaving the room, shutting the door behind him.
“I can’t believe they did this.” Peter groaned. “Forcing us to kiss because they think we like each other? Who comes up with that?”
“I know right?” You agreed. “How we feel about each other is none of their business.”
“Exactly. And what do they know? If I liked you, I think I would know.” Peter forced a laugh, well aware that he liked you.
“Yeah. We would know.” You nodded before looking at him skeptically. “We would know, right?”
“I don’t know.” Peter answered honestly. “It’s kinda hard to tell how I feel about you. I never know if something that happens between us is platonic or romantic.”
“Me either.” You spoke softly as you put your hand on his. “Kissing isn’t really platonic, though.”
“I guess not.” Peter chuckled as he looked at you. You stared at him for a moment, heart beating in your ears as you thought out your next step.
“Peter, do you like me?” You asked slowly, looking at him through your eyelashes.
“Um, kinda, yeah.”
“Kinda?” You laughed softly at his answer.
“I’m sorry.” He sighed and squeezed your hand. “I don’t know what to say in this situation.”
“Just tell me how you feel.” You shrugged.
“I feel like I’ve been lingering around places where the mistletoe in hopes that you’ll walk by and kiss me.” Peter confessed, looking at you with a shy smile.
“Well that’s not platonic.” You teased him, leaning into him a little.
“No, it’s not.” Peter agreed. Your eyes flicked to his lips briefly before leaning in to kiss him, pulling his face closer to yours with the hand that wasn’t holding his. He kissed you back once he got over the surprise, sitting up straighter to get closer to you.
“You don’t need mistletoe to kiss me, Petey.” You whispered once you pulled away. “You can do it whenever you want.”
“I’m gonna take you up on that.” Peter smiled softly at you.
“I hope you do.” You flirted before connecting your lips to his again. On the other side of the door, Thor had his ear pressed up against the crack, listening to every word with a huge grin.
“I am so going to win this contest.”

pairing: peter parker x stark!reader
warning: hi! english (obviously) is not my first language, so I ask for patience, im still learning <3
Tumblr media
"Good morning." You said with a enviable morning good humor as soon as you arrived at the complex's kitchen, receiving distracted nods and murmurs from Bucky, Sam, and Natasha. Peter, on the other hand, received your greeting with equal enthusiasm.
"Good morning, Y/N." He replied anxiously, straightening the posture and removing his feet from the chair beside. "Do you want to sit here?" He asked quick and shyly, pretending not to notice Bucky and Sam narrowing their eyes across the table. "I-I mean, it's empty, but you don't have to if you don't want to."
You nodded, accepting the offer before sitting down next to the boy you used to call best friend, frowning as you noticed that your yogurt with granola was already prepared next to a spoon and a glass of milk.
"Did you do that?"
Peter agreed, feeling a warmth rise from his neck to his cheeks.
"Yes, I figured you would be tired after last night."
That answer was enough to capture the attention of the entire kitchen. Steve, who was walking through the door with an empty mug in hand, stopped as soon as he heard the phrase leave Peter's lips, widening his eyes as he struggled not to let the ceramic object hit the floor.
"What?" Bucky asked in astonishment, blinking rapidly as he looked away between you and Peter. "What did you guys do last night?"
You and Peter looked at each other in confusion, but before you could respond, Natasha pointed to your clothes.
"Is that Peter's sweatshirt?"
Steve's pressure seemed to have dropped at this very moment. With trembling hands and flushed cheeks, the soldier sat down on one of the chairs, hiding his face amidst inaudible murmurs.
"Tony already knows this?" Sam asked with his mouth full of cereal, looking at you both with disapproval.
"What should I know?"
Peter swallowed hard when he heard your father's voice, dreading the mischievous smile that grew on Bucky's face.
"That me and Pete spent the whole night watching Star Wars." You were quick to respond, causing Peter to let out a relieved sigh.
"So that's what the kids call it these days?" Steve whispered, looking more shocked by the minute. Natasha patted her friend on the back, offering consolation.
"The Spider-Baby said he made Y/N very tired last night." Bucky, playing the part of the devil on Peter's shoulder, repeated the sentence with slight alteration.
"I didn't say that." The boy with bright curls said in horror, shaking his head frantically as his face turned as red as fresh strawberries. "It wasn't like that, Mr. Stark."
"So explain it to me." Tony demanded with a serious face, crossing his arms over his chest.
The boy became an clumsy mess in a matter of seconds. Bucky, Sam and Natasha holding their own giggling as the comic moment unfolded.
"You don't have to say anything, Pete." You reassured him, understanding your father's intentions. "Let's get away from those perverts. We still have a lot to enjoy this weekend."
You stood up with Peter at your heels, leaving the kitchen under the watchful eyes of the Avengers. Everyone, except Steve, burst out laughing as soon as Tony made sure that you were no longer around, Sam having to wipe away a few tears that had escaped from the corner of his eyes.
"What?" Steve asked confused, staring at the others strangely. "What did I miss?"
"They are so oblivious." Natasha said with a smile, shaking her head negatively.
"It's kind of cute." Tony admitted, shaking his shoulders. "The boy is unable to make a move, however."
"What?" Steve voiced it for the third time in less than three minutes. "They-they- you know; Aren't you angry? Isn't that a move for you?"
"They did nothing, cap." Tony stated between a sigh. "They spent the night watching Star Wars just as Y/N said, believe me."
"But is painfully obvious the Spider-Boy is upside down for her." Sam stated, earning a nod from Tony, Bucky and Natasha. "He was already here when me and Bucky showed up in the morning. He was sitting at the table and Y/N's breakfast was also already prepared. I was about to sit next to him– and it was the first time I ever considered sitting next to that child, I swear, when he simply put his feet up on the empty chair, saying that he had severe cramps and needed space. When Y/N appeared at the door all smiling and wearing his college sweatshirt, puft, it seems that the boy went out of his mind, and the first thing he did was to offer the seat next to him."
"There was one day that Y/N needed to help Bruce in the lab and was without access to her cell phone for most of the day. Peter and I were working together on his suit, but the boy was picking up the cell phone every two minutes. He sent a message at 04:30 and Y/N didn't answer until at 08:47, so guess what? Peter answered at 08:48." Said Tony.
"The boy was whipped." Bucky uttered between a sip of coffee.
"He and Y/N were sharing a pot of strawberry ice cream during the last movie session." It was Natasha's turn to share a moment between you and Peter, attracting the attention of the men accompanying her, "but there was only one spoon for both."
There was a suggestive exchange of glances between her, Stark, Barnes and Wilson, broken by Rogers' timid and cautious voice.
"So the kids didn't do anything indecent?"
"Oh, for God's sake!" Tony rolled his eyes, leaving the room.
It was almost seven in the evening when Peter came into the kitchen again, now with a green mask on his face and a Hello Kitty's patch over his nose.
"What the fuck?" Bucky asked skeptically, almost spitting out the sandwich that was in his mouth.
"Y/N and I are going skin care tonight." Peter replied simply, going over to the refrigerator as everyone watched him intently.
"And what is that on your face?" Natasha asked the question everyone wanted while Peter grabbed a pot of ice cream from the freezer.
"Avocado mask. She saw in TikTok that it is good for the pores."
"So that was the fate of the avocado I bought to eat in the morning." Steve said regretfully. "It's okay, I can buy another one tomorrow."
"I have many questions, but I don't think any answer will answer them." Sam do a grimace before turning to the food laid out on the table.
"Peter, you should ask Y/N out on a date." Thor gave his opinion. "That's what you Midgardians call, right?"
Peter choked with the air as he heard the Thunder God's phrase, almost letting the pot of ice cream slide down the sink.
"W-we go to dates almost every day." He refuted with red face. "Tomorrow we will go to the supermarket. We can buy another avocado for you, Steve."
"But this is not the kind of date we are talking abo–" Natasha tried to explain, but Peter was already leaving the kitchen practically running.
"Bye, Y/N is waiting me to put cucumbers over the eyes."
"You got only one spoon!" The redhead screamed.
"It's enough!"
The Avengers present exchanged a look of recognition before Thor broke the silence, repeating the question Sam had asked that same morning:
"Tony already knows this?"
Everyone shook their shoulders simultaneously, Bruce being the only one to speak up verbally when silence filled the room.
"I'm sure he's already pulling some strings."
"Please, Tony, don't tell me that you are hiding to spying Peter and Y/N."
Tony peeked a bit between the leaves as he heard Pepper's harsh voice, putting the binoculars in the back pocket of his pants as covertly as possible.
"Spying?" He laughed exaggeratedly loudly. "Of course not, dear. This is absurd."
The woman eyed him suspiciously, reaching into her husband's pocket as soon as he hugged her.
"So can you start explaining to me the binoculars, the camouflage clothing, and the presence of a giant plant that was not in the hallway before?"
Tony walked away defeated, lowering his eyes at the judgmental look he was receiving.
"The word "spying" is too strong, okay? Let's say I was watching them without them knowing."
Pepper rolled her eyes.
"They are already adults, Tony. You should let them make their own decisions, and it is pretty obvious that they like each other. I know that the idea of Peter and Y/N dating may be strange to you, but–"
"Strange?" He almost shouted, lowering his voice when he noticed that the music that used to come from your room had stopped, now putting his camouflage skills at risk. "Baby, I love you, but you are crazy." He whispered. "Peter is the only boy who deserves to be with someone like Y/N, and all I have been doing for the past seven months is trying to get them to confess the feelings that everyone knows exist, but they seem too blind to see. So far I remain with the verdict that the boy is right for her and I hope don't change my mind anytime soon. They are my OTP."
"OTP?" Pepper asked confused by the slang.
"One True Pairing. Honey, you are so out of date."
"All right, I'm leaving."
Tony arched an eyebrow as he watched his wife walk away and take the binoculars, shrugging his shoulders before hiding behind the leaves again. He spent almost two hours there, but nothing interesting had happened, just you and Peter going back and forth from the kitchen with greasy foods and ice cream, a spoon for two as you shared whatever it was in the aisles, sometimes even taking it into each other's mouths, making Tony look away from those nauseatingly sweet scenes.
He had a story appointment with Morgan and his presence in the little girl's room at nine was a must. The plan affectionately called "Project Starker" had failed that day, and Tony had to accept defeat as he went to your room, expecting to find you and Peter sprawled out on the bed while some nerdy movie was playing on TV.
"Y/N? Peter?"
The room was dark, lit only by adjacent lights coming through the window. Tony stumbled over a few objects along the way, walking blindly through the furniture until he was near your bed.
"Can you even see each other here? God, how–"
Tony had to interrupt the sentence, surprised to see you and Peter snuggled up to each other, sleeping peacefully while a current series he didn't know the name of played on the TV at an almost inaudible volume. He shook his head in denial, holding back a smile before nudging Peter's waist, forging an angry timbre:
"Kid, you have a room here for a reason. What are you doing in my daughter's bed?"
Peter blinked a few times, completely lost and surprised by Tony's presence.
"Mr. Stark?" He asked stunned, trying to see Tony through the shadows. "Why are you here?"
Your father raised one of his eyebrows, aghast at the sudden boldness of the teenager before remembering the younger man's sleepwalking habits. Peter probably thought he was dreaming or some shit.
"Why are you here?" Tony returned the question, crossing his arms.
"Because I'm in love with Y/N and I want to sleep next to her."
Tony opened his mouth like a goldfish, cursing himself mentally for not recording that statement, shaking Peter's body when he started to close his eyes again.
"Aren't you going to your room?"
Peter mumbled something indecipherable, tightening his arms around your body as you continued to sleep heavily on his chest.
"No, thanks for the offer."
Tony nodded to nothing, deciding to just close your curtain and ask to Friday to turn off the TV.
"Thank you for doing Y/N too, Mr. Stark. I appreciate that."
Tony laughed softly, promising himself that he would tease the boy about it the next morning, “Go to sleep, kid. I'm sure no one will leave you alone tomorrow after I tell what you said."
Stark was about to leave when he noticed Peter's feet sticking out of the covers. The night was cold, and there was nothing but a thin comforter protecting the two of you.
"Just one blanket?" He asked.
"Yes." Peter kind of whispered, pulling you closer. "It's enough."
This time Tony didn't hold back his smile, shaking his head before closing the door, leaving you and Peter in that little bubble of teenage passion.
"Point for you, Spider-Boy."

Disclaimer: Gif not mine
It was raining. No, that was an understatement. It was pouring; torrents of water attacked your house. You thanked the powers that may be for letting you get your leak fixed last month. You didn’t mind the rain, not really, but this was just depressing. And the strength of the storm was a little scary, too. The claps of thunder seemed to rattle the very foundation of your house, and you jumped a little every time. There was only one thing making the relentless downpour bearable. Loki.
“Darling?” he asked, concern lacing his voice. “Is there something wrong?”
You tried to relax your visibly tense body. “Yeah, I’m ok. Totally fine.”
He looked unconvinced, but kept his skepticism to himself. No need to pry, he supposed. He took your hand in his and used his thumb to rub circles on the back of it. He hoped it would help calm you. There was a time he never would have been so bold as to initiate contact, but you changed that. You’d shown him it was ok to do. With you it was, anyway.
As another boom of thunder filled the air, you squeezed Loki’s hand tighter. He gave you another concerned look. He wasn’t very fond of thunderstorms himself, and he wondered if the same thing was plaguing you. The thought reminded him of his brother, and then the Tower. He really should be getting back home, but how he so hated to leave you, his precious mortal.
You’d met him one day in the Tower. You were the receptionist on the first floor, and more often than not, Loki chose just to teleport in and out. At that time, it had only been a month since you’d gotten the job, and you’d yet to see the god. For whatever reason, he decided to use the front door that day. You stopped him as he tried to walk through the security measures without checking in.
“Excuse me, sir,” you’d said. “I’m going to need to see your Tower ID.”
“Oh, darling,” he’d said. “I do not think I need any verification. Perhaps I should introduce myself. I am Loki of Asgard.” He’d bowed and placed a kiss to the back of your hand.
“And I’m in charge of this reception desk,” you’d replied, puffing up your chest and blocking his way. He laughed a little. “And I need some ID.”
“Very well,” he’d sighed. As he searched for the little card, you let out a breath of relief. You’d never had this trouble with any of the other Avengers. He finally found it and presented it with a charming smile. “Aha! Here we are, darling. Are we all good here then?”
“Yup,” you said, swiping him through. “Have a nice day, Loki of Asgard.”
“And to you too, but I do not think I caught your name.” You gave it to him, and he’d repeated it with yet another smile. “I look forward to our next meeting.”
“Me too,” you responded with a shy grin back at him.
He made sure to always use the door after that, usually waiting until he got to the desk to pull out his ID, giving him a chance to chat with you. Your friendship quickly blossomed, and you both developed feelings for each other. Not that either of you would admit it out of fear the other wouldn’t feel the same.
Right now, he would just teleport home, since your friendly face wouldn’t be there to greet him with a smile. He didn’t really want to go, but he also didn’t want to overstay his welcome. You hadn’t given him any reason to think he had, it was just his nature to believe that was so.
“I had better take my leave before it gets too late,” he told you, making to stand up.
“No!” you shouted with an unexpected urgency. “Uh, what I mean is that you shouldn’t go out in this storm. Why don’t you stay the night here? If that’s not weird, of course.”
His heart beat a little faster as you desperately clung to his hand. Of course he could tell you that it was no trouble; with his magic, he wouldn’t have to set foot outside. But he could tell this was about something more than you were saying. Besides, who was he to turn down some more time with you?
“It is not weird at all, darling,” he replied, getting comfortable on the couch once more. “It sounds like a wonderful idea. Thank you for the offer.”
“You’re welcome.”
He brought his arms around you and hugged you to his chest, gently running his hand up and down your arm in what he hoped was a comforting gesture. From the way you relaxed against him, he supposed that it was. As the episode you were watching finished, you flipped through the channels and landed on the Food Network. The food on the screen caused an embarrassingly loud grumble in your stomach, but Loki just beamed at you.
“Are you hungry, darling?” he asked. “Perhaps I could make us a snack?”
“I’m the host,” you replied, with a shake of your head. “I should be providing the food.”
“How about we make it together then?” he suggested. “What would you like?”
“I’m craving nachos right now, if that’s fine with you.” You were met with a blank stare. “Do you not know what nachos are?” you exclaimed in disbelief.
“I am afraid I do not,” he chuckled. It never ceases to amaze you how there was always some other new Midgardian food to introduce him to. “I will gladly try them, though. You will have to take the lead on the cooking, of course.”
You nodded your head and led him to your kitchen, pulling out the ingredients you’d need. You cooked the chicken while Loki cut up the tomatoes and lettuce. You instructed Loki on how to prepare the rest of the toppings while you melted the cheese on the chips. All the delicious aromas filling the kitchen only served to make your stomach growl louder. You sheepishly giggled as the both of you loaded up the plate with everything you’d made.
“Are they ready, then?” Loki asked. “Should I try it?”
You excitedly nodded yes. He picked up a chip with all the toppings on it. He sniffed at it before closing his eyes and taking a delicate bite. His eyes shot open in excitement as the flavors exploded on his tongue. He quickly polished off the rest of the chip.
“It is delicious, darling! You are quite the talented chef, you know.”
You shifted your weight, never sure how to react to a compliment. “Thanks, Loki. You are too.”
He gestured to the plate, and you took your first bite. As you stood at the counter, chatting and eating, you almost forgot about the storm raging on outside. Well, that was until you finished the dish, and thunder sounded once more, the rain attacking with a revived fury.
“Do you wish to go to bed now?” he inquired, mistaking your masked fear as exhaustion. “I hope I have not kept you up.”
“No, not at all,” you were quick to reassure him. “Actually, I want to stay up a while longer. We could even make a pillow fort! That is if, uh, if you wanted to.”
“That sounds like a splendid idea, darling.”
You’d introduced him to the notion the first time the two of you were up late together, and he’d taken to it immediately. You’d suggested he should be the prince of the fort, but he’d insisted that you take on the role of monarch. He did the same now as you gathered the pillows, blankets, and cushions, setting to work building your haven on the floor and couch.
“Well, darling,” he said, leaning back and pulling you with him, “I think we did a pretty good job.”
“Even better than last time,” you agreed.
As you turned the TV back on, you found you were more interested in studying Loki’s face than watching the movie he’d picked. He was so beautiful, down to every last detail. Realizing the sheer number of times his perfect, pink lips had formed the word darling made your heart skip a beat or two. He’d been saying it since he first met you, but it was different now; softer, more caring. He thought what was actually a thrill induced shiver was a sign that you were cold, and carefully draped a blanket around your shoulders, holding you even closer than before.
“Are you truly feeling alright?” he fretted. “You are not feeling ill, are you?”
“No, Loki. Don’t worry. I’m totally and completely fi-”
Thunder cut off your sentence once more, and you whimpered, confirming his suspicions from earlier. Before you could explain the involuntary reaction away, Loki cupped your cheeks and looked deep into your eyes.
“Darling!” he exclaimed. “You are afraid of the thunder.”
“I am,” you wailed, burying your head in your hands as his arms wrapped around you. He held your head to his chest, rocking back and forth ever so slightly. “I am. This is so embarrassing.”
“Nonsense. I am rather terrified of it, too. Far too many unpleasant memories of Thor’s temper tantrums and combat training,” he grimaced. “Does it carry the same kind of horrid association for you?”
“Mhm. When I was a kid,” you said, taking a deep breath, “a bolt of lightning struck the tree in my front yard. It fell over, and the entire house was soon engulfed with flames. My family and I were all ok, but it was scary.”
“And understandably so!” he comforted you. “I am so sorry you went through something so horrid. I promise you are safe here with me, though. I will never let anything harm you.”
You lifted your head and looked into his eyes, only to bury it back in the crook of his neck at another clap of thunder. He rubbed your back again and comfortingly shushed you as you whimpered more, reassuring you that you would be alright. That he would make sure of it. All of a sudden, that was the only noise you were hearing. Well, that and the TV. Everything else went quiet. You dared to peek up, and saw Loki smiling at you, but with concern in his eyes.
“What happened?” you asked, perplexed by the sudden silence of the storm outside.
“I have cast a spell. A bubble of silence of sorts,” he replied. “It is a talent I developed for when things get really bad.”
“Thank you. It’s perfect.”
“You are welcome,” he whispered as you snuggled closer to him. He placed a kiss to your head and immediately feared he’d overstepped. “I am sorry, darling. I hope I have not made you uncomfortable.”
“On the contrary,” you said, pecking him on the lips, “I wouldn’t mind more.”
He recovered quickly from his shock and moved to kiss you again. It was sweet and gentle, yet you were drowning. Drowning in his scent, his taste, his everything. But you didn’t mind. If the air was taken from your lungs, this was a good way to go.
“I love you, Loki,” you said, a radiant smile gracing your face.
“And I you, my darling.”
As you kissed again, you thought that thunderstorms might not be that bad, after all.

Can’t Help Falling in Love
Loki x Reader (f)
Valentine’s Day with the God of Mischief
Based on suggestion by: @squadleaderchase
A/N: Thank you so much for the suggestion! I loved writing this, it was so much fun!
Happy Valentine’s Day y’all!
There is also a gender neutral version of this fic, and will be posted shortly after this one! Read it here!
I recommend to putting on Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis towards the end just for that finishing touch!
Summary: When Loki learns about the traditions of Valentine’s Day, he asks you to be his Valentine- and reluctantly takes advice from Steve Rogers.
Word Count: 2.9k
Warnings: none; just fluff
Tumblr media
“Can’t Midgardians have a holiday that doesn’t involve such a grotesque display of… red?” Loki asks walking into the living room of the Avengers compound. Loki arrived at the compound a few weeks before Christmas and so far, he’s experienced two Earth holidays: Christmas and New Year’s. Of course, Tony had picked the theme for both parties to be elaborately red and gold- he claimed the fact that it matched his suit was merely a coincidence.
“Just wait until next month,” you reply casually, your eyes not leaving the brief you were reading while you sat cozied up in one of the large armchairs. “I think you’ll like St. Patrick’s Day much more… color scheme wise at least.”
Loki looked up curiously at the hearts of all shades of red and pink Natasha had hung up to decorate the Avengers’ living quarters. She had gone to visit Clint’s family and his kids spent hours making Valentines and decorations out of construction paper and glitter. Loki looked almost puzzled at the lopsided hearts that hung from the ceiling on transparent line so they looked like they floated mid-air.
“Perhaps I might,” he mumbled to himself, the lovesick aura of his surroundings making him slightly disgusted. “Though I suppose I find your rituals as bizarre as you’d find on Asgard.”
“Mhmm,” you mumbled in response to his thinking out loud. It was rare that the compound would be this quiet. It was a Friday evening and in the middle of a team meeting earlier today, Tony declared exhaustedly that everyone needs to start the weekend early and dismissed everyone despite Steve’s protests. You weren’t sure where everyone else went and you didn’t particularly care- enjoying the rare peace and quiet.
You didn’t mind Loki’s company. He was a little aloof but overall, you found him more to be misunderstood than anything else. He wasn’t like Thor and sure, he had a very trouble ridden past to downplay it- but he’s confided in you all it wasn’t entirely his doing. Out of everyone living at the compound, he probably had grown the closest to you, or as close as Loki would allow himself to be to someone.
“What even is this holiday?” Loki asked, pulling his attention from the decorations to where you sat, binder in your lap. You looked up and closed the brief, tossing it onto the coffee table in front of where you sat.
“Sunday is Valentine’s Day,” you say looking back over to him, meeting his eyes. “I mean overtime the traditions and how we celebrate have changed but it’s originally the day meant to honor St. Valentine and commemorate his death. There’s a lot more to it than that and there’s all different of different origins, but now it’s more like a day where you celebrate love, because he was the patron Saint of Love.”
Loki nods, liking the idea of this holiday much more than New Years already. He didn’t mind Christmas, but the elaborate parties made everything not very appealing to him. You can’t blame the god for not having a good time at parties where every guest fears him or hates him. He walks over and takes a seat on the couch and crosses his legs. He was intrigued enough to continue the conversation and ask you more questions. “What are the traditions?” He asks curiously.
“Traditionally, you would ask someone to be your Valentine, and that’s the person you want to spend the day with,” you answer with a small shrug, trying to explain a holiday you’ve never had to explain before. “Some people have it easy and they ask their significant other, and if you don’t have one, you ask someone you’re romantically interested in to be your Valentine. Then you give each other gifts, like chocolates or flowers, anything really that’s romantic and you go out on a date, like a nice dinner but it doesn’t have to be. That’s the basic gist.”
“Thank you, (y/n),” Loki said, mulling over your explanation. “You’ve been helpful, as always. Tell me, who’s your Valentine?”
“I don’t have one,” you answered honestly. The only time you really celebrated was when you had been with someone. You’d never really participated otherwise. You planned to just spend the night alone or with Nat if she also didn’t have plans and probably watch a movie- most definitely Pride and Prejudice.
“Shame,” Loki said with a tsk. “Perhaps, if you would be interested, you could be my Valentine?”
“Really?” you ask, honestly surprised.
“I actually like the idea of the day,” Loki shrugged. “And I don’t know many people, people seem to hate me on this planet- no idea as to why. You’ve always been kind to me, and you are the most tolerable person I’ve encountered on this planet.”
“That’s oddly very kind of you,” you say with a chuckle. “I appreciate the sentiments. Um, yes. I’d be happy to be your Valentine.”
“Excellent,” he grinned. He clapped his hands together and stood up. “Splendid. I’ll ask Thor to help me plan something.”
“I’m looking forward to it,” you smile, picking up your paperwork again as Loki heads off to find his brother.
***
“Brother,” Thor’s voice echoed in the training room. “Spar with me?”
“As much as I would love to,” Loki said sarcastically, “I need your help with something I need to plan.” Loki walked over to the side of the mat where Thor had been training with Captain Rogers.
“Plan what?” Captain Rogers asked curiously. It was an innocent enough question but Loki took it as Rogers insinuating his distrust in him. Of course, Loki can’t blame the man but it did rub him the wrong way.
“If you must know Captain Rogers, I’m making plans for this upcoming Valentine’s Day,” Loki said matter-of-factly. “I’m sure since you have quite the active love life recently, your words of wisdom are probably of infinite value.”
“You can learn a thing or two from me,” Steve retorted as he put the punching bag beck into place. “But I don’t like your attitude.”
“I don’t know how I’ll ever manage without you,” Loki scoffed. He turned his attention back to his brother. “I need help to determine where I should take (y/n) and what I should get her.”
“(y/n) agreed to this?” Thor asks, his eyebrows raised in confusion. Rogers kept his mouth shut, deciding to see where this conversation will go before
“Yes, brother. I asked her to be my Valentine as stated by tradition and she said yes.”
“Ah! Good for you, brother!” Thor exclaimed, happily. “I’m glad you’re immersing yourself in the Midgard culture.”
“Yes, yes,” Loki waved him off, “Now, please, tell me what I should do.”
“I’ve never celebrated Valentine’s Day,” Thor says with a shrug and a sympathetic look. “I haven’t had much opportunity to explore the culture. Every time I’m on this planet I’m a little busy preventing its destruction. Perhaps Rogers can help you?”
Loki let out an exasperated sigh. He avoided Rogers as he knew the man had such a smug look on his face. Loki refused to give him the satisfaction. However, he realized that wouldn’t be fair to you. Rogers not only knew what to do, but he was also close friends with you. He quickly realized if he wanted to celebrate with you properly, he’d need to rely on the infamous super soldier.
“Captain Rogers,” Loki said with a charismatic smile, turning back to the man. “I wholeheartedly apologize for my lack of… social niceties. If you’d be willing to help me, to ensure your dear friend enjoys her holiday, I would be sincerely grateful.”
“Only because of (y/n),” Rogers says skeptically, waving a finger at Loki. “She deserves to enjoy her time and I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I let you screw up her evening.”
“What a loyal friend.”
Years later, the Avengers would still talk about the fact Loki cared about you so much, he sought out advice from Captain America and Thor. And as Captain America said, he helped Loki with every last detail and Steve never let Loki forget it.
***
Loki had told you that he’d come to your room to get you at 6 o’clock Sunday evening. He wore clothes he had picked out, black dress pants, a white button-down shirt and shiny, black dress shoes. He had kept the last button of the shirt unbuttoned and he had rolled the sleeves up, a styling tip he had gotten from Thor. He had his long hair gelled back and tamed, ignoring Captain Roger’s horrible suggestion for a haircut. He felt very weird not wearing any green, but he took the advice he was given on his ensemble.
You were just putting on your heels when he knocked at your door Sunday promptly at 6pm. Of course, Loki would be very punctual. You gave yourself one more quick once more in the mirror in your room before heading to answer the door.
You had on a pair of dark green heels that perfectly matched your dress. You also layered over the outfit a suede brown jacket, that complimented the jewel tone of the dress and shoes nicely. You kept your appearance simple, sticking to how you usually styled your hair. Not wanting to keep him waiting, you quickly opened the door, your jacket and bag both in hand.
“Wow,” you say with a grin, when you take in Loki’s appearance. “You look very nice.”
“You look stunning,” Loki said, his eyes widening, taking in your appearance. The compliment made you have butterflies.
“Thank you,” you said with false confidence. Underneath, you were a nervous wreck as you took the arm that he extended to you.
“So,” Loki began to walk down the hallway with you. “Apparently, this planet has something called reservations, and anyone who tries to get one a few days before Valentine’s Day is a “moron,” according to a very rude young man I had the pleasure of speaking with- the first time using a phone too on top of that. So, I hope you don’t mind if the evening is a little… makeshift.”
“I’m sure it’ll be great,” you reassure him. You feel him relax slightly. You found how hard he was trying so endearing.
Where else did he bring you but just down the hall to the living room. At night with the lights dimmed, combined with Natasha’s homemade decorations, it actually looked quite beautiful. He had decorated with an eclectic array of candles as well that covered most surfaces of the room. It also looked like he had swiped every throw pillow in the whole compound and had them arranged the coffee table in the center of the room.
“Did you do all of this?” You ask in awe.
“Yes,” he replied, just watching you. “Do you like it?”
“It’s perfect.”
“I had to make my own version of advice I received,” he disclosed to you. You sat opposite each other on either side of the coffee table, you kicked off your heels and he did the same with his shoes. “Captain Rogers said- and I’m trying my best to quote verbatim, ‘You need to show a girl a good time. You gotta take her to dinner and dancing.’” He even mimicked Steve’s voice perfectly. It made you laugh.
“I can’t believe you subjected yourself to Steve for me, I’m touched,” you smiled. “I mean I love Steve,” you continue, “But I can’t imagine you too being best friends anytime soon.”
“No, I suppose we probably won’t be,” Loki chuckles.
“I hate to point it out,” you continue, “but I think you missed both the dinner part and the dancing part of that plan.” Loki smirked and when you blinked, he transformed the whole room.
“Did I?” he asks, with an eyebrow raised. You gasp, looking around the room you were now in. You knew it was an illusion, but it felt very real. The atmosphere, the breeze coming in from the large bay windows that weren’t there before. The coffee table now a table now one of many dining tables in an incredibly high-end restaurant. The table had food, and a bottle of wine. You were stunned. There was a live band and other couples in other tables and out on the dancefloor.
“Loki?” You exclaimed, looking around at your new surroundings. It was amazing. You couldn’t believe the magic right before your eyes. Of course, you knew it was just one of his tricks, but it felt so incredibly real. You picked up your fork and took a bite of the food in front of you. It was incredible, you questioned if you were even eating.
“It’s real,” Loki said, like he could read your mind. Honestly, he had only just anticipated your next question. “I made it. Well, I made it with Friday’s supervision.”
“It’s fantastic! I can’t believe you went through all this trouble just for me.”
“Sweetheart, you are very much worth it- worth much more than this,” he responded casually, throwing in the term of endearment to see how you’d react. He caught the way it made you smile.
You continued to talk for a little while, and shared stories. You were worried that compared to his life on Asgard, he’d find your stories incredibly boring and mundane. It seemed to be the opposite. His attention was only on you and he held on to every word you said. He created this elaborate setting just to keep you the center of his attention.
“Should we dance?” He asks suddenly, a glimmer in his eye. You looked down apprehensively.
“I’m not really a dancer,” you tried to insist.
“Do you actually not want to dance, darling? Because if so, I will not bring it up again,” he says earnestly, “But, if you’re saying no because you’re afraid I’m going to judge you, I honestly can promise you I would never dream of doing so.”
You give it another moment to ponder over his words. You were taken aback at how well he seemed to know how you were thinking. You let out a sigh of defeat, and smile. “I’d love to,” you reply.
He stands up and offers you his hand. His smile is enough to make you weak at the knees. You take his hand and he leads you over to the dancefloor as the band starts playing its next song. “Does that singer sound like Elvis?” You ask, the small glitch in the illusion throwing you off for only a moment.
“I don’t know who that is,” Loki says with a laugh. He pulls you in close and rests one hand on the small of your back and the other grasps your hand close. You wrap your other arm around his shoulder. You are both pressed up incredibly close to one another. You rest your head on his chest comfortably, and you can’t see how much the action makes his whole face go red. Guiding your movements together, it mostly just swaying in place. The steps were small, and with the music playing for the two of you.
“This place is incredible,” you sigh happily looking up at him. “But I think I liked the first place a little better.”
He nodded in agreement and you got to watch a green hue encompass the walls of the restaurant as they almost melted away, and everything around the two of you just fade away. The sconces on the walls, revealed themselves to be the candles that cluttered the living room and the couples evaporated with the green mist. The table you had both sat at, turned back to the coffee table but the empty plates remained. The elaborate statues that surrounded the room turned into the furniture you knew well, and then the live band faded away to reveal Steve’s record player indeed playing a 45 of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley.
When the room finished revealing its true appearance to you, you laid your head back on Loki’s chest and mumbled that now it was perfect. He smiled to himself, thinking about how without a doubt in his mind, Valentine’s Day is his absolute favorite holiday on Midgard. He now couldn’t believe this reality was real. If he wasn’t holding you, he’d pinch himself. You were here, with him, in his arms, dancing in the middle of the living room on this godforsaken planet.
“(y/n)?” he whispered softly as the song was coming to an end.
“Mhmm?” You responded, your eyes closed, really just basking in the feeling of being so close to him and the smell of his cologne.
“Will be mine?” He asks carefully, remembering the phrase from Captain Roger’s advice. That phrase apparently being very important if today went well and he wanted to ask you to “go steady.” You chuckled softly, hearing Steve’s influence in the phrase.
“I would love to,” you say with a shy smile looking back up to him. He beams, incredibly happy you said yes. Swept up in his emotions, he swiftly leans down and presses his lips to yours capturing them in a passionate first kiss.
“Oh gross!” You hear someone exclaim, making you both pull away. It’s Tony- who was currently holding his side in pain as Pepper elbowed him in the side.
“You really had to do that?” she chastised him, rolling her eyes and giving an apologetic look to you and Loki before pushing Tony down the hallway to give you both your moment back, as sullied as it had become thanks to Tony.
“I’m so sorry,” she said embarrassed by his outburst, ushering him out as quickly as possible.
Loki turns his head back to you, immediately after they are out of view. “Where were we, darling?” He smirks, pulling you in for another kiss.

Hi! I saw that you might be interested in writing fics about Sigyn x Loki and it’s totally fine if you don’t want to do this because it is a little angsty and doesn’t really fit your description of what she was doing during Thor but could you maybe write something where Sigyn dies somehow a little before the events of Thor happened and Sigyn’d death was what lead Loki to do New York. And maybe he was pardoned and joined the avengers and they notice that Loki wears a ring and they start getting really curious. Maybe they ask him or Thor about the ring and find out about Sigyn. I know it doesn’t really fit what your version of Sigyn was doing during Thor but I would really like to see how you write this.
A/N: You’re right, this isn’t how I picture Sigyn in the MCU. I want her to be a more active character and really don’t like fridging my ladies if I can help it. That all being said, it’s a fun thought experiment.  Consider this just an AU where Sigyn dies.
Also, this kinda turned into a thing, so enjoy!

The transition was gradual, to say the least. Nobody really trusted Loki, apart form Thor. But then again, Thor would trust a rabid dog not to bite him if it asked nicely enough.
He had vouched for his brother’s changed ways and Loki himself hadn’t done anything directly to contradict Thor’s word. Plus, it was hard for them to deny how he had come to the rescue on their behalf and the world at large.
Still, there was an unspoken understanding to stay out of each other’s way. Only occasionally did Loki interact with the rest of the team outside of missions and even then it was mildly antagonistic, like a little kid looking for attention from their siblings.
Eventually, it just got comfortable, for lack of a better word.  They’re weren’t friends, but they weren’t enemies either and that seemed to be enough.
So perhaps it wasn’t a surprise it took them almost six months to notice the ring.
Natasha was the first to catch it.
She stood on the edge of the mat, watching Loki spar with his brother.
It was just a casual observation.  She spent most of the match counting how many times one of them missed a weak spot of the other. Finally, Loki took the advantage and managed to disarm his brother, but not before something fell out of his shirt; a silver chain with a solitary gold ring dangling from the end of it.
Natasha frowned, her eyes focusing on the tiny object. It was just a simple band, no jewels or markings from what she could see. The only thing which struck her as odd was the size.  It was much too small for the likes of Loki.
Her eyes darted to the man in question, who stared back at her with a guarded expression.
Without a word he helped his brother to his feet, and tucked the necklace away.
He wasn’t telling and she wasn’t asking.
The next was Steve.
He couldn’t sleep, which wasn’t so unusual.  Even before he went into the ice he wasn’t much of a sleeper.  The scientist who worked on him said it had something to do with the serum. He just didn’t require as much sleep as the average person.
On nights like these he found himself wandering, allowing his thoughts to shuffle lightly in and out as he feet carried him where they liked. It therefor came as a surprise when he noticed one of the lights in the kitchen turned on and a single figure sitting at the island.
Steve stayed in the shadows, watching with suspicion and curiosity.
Loki did not seem to know he was there.  A long forgotten mug of something sat on the surface beside him.  His eyes were only for the ring between his fingers.
Steve stiffened waiting for something, anything to happen.  Knowing Loki it was a magic ring of some kind.  Perhaps he was working out a kind of spell or curse.  But, the longer Steve waited, the more he realized nothing was going to happen.
His eyes then turned away from the ring at to the man holding them.  His heart twisted.
Sorrow permeated Loki’s features, and the resignation that it was all there would ever be.
Steve knew that look.  He had worn it often enough on sleepless nights.
“Do you require something, Captain?” Loki said, turning his head up to meet his gaze.
Steve immediately stiffened, automatically preparing himself for a fight.
“No, just getting some air. What are you doing up?”
“The same as you,” he said, smoothly.  “Just getting some air.”
It was obvious neither bought what the other was selling, but it was also obvious neither were in a position to ask any further questions.
“I’ll leave you to it then.” He turned to leave, but found himself pausing before he could stop himself.  The familiar ache was back in his gut.  It was what had woken him up and it was back with a vengeance, recognizing it’s own pain in another.
“I’m sorry,” he said, before he could stop himself.
Loki’s gaze darkened, but still his grip on the ring remained ever gentle.  “I’m sure I don’t know what you mean.”
Steve shook his head. “No, I think you do.  And I’m sorry.”
The other man remained silence, but gave a small nod.
Steve took it as his leave to go and walked away.  It wasn’t his place to ask and so he wouldn’t.
It was Clint who finally got it out of him.
He never trusted Loki, for obvious reasons.  The rest of the team might have been able to buy the changed man act, but none of them had had their mind permanently screwed with like his had. He played nice while on missions, but was soon as they were off the Quinjet, he kept as far away from Loki as possible.
So, when Natasha told him about the ring, he was more than a little suspicious.
There had to be something about the ring.  It had to be a talisman Loki could use to trick them.  Maybe it turned him invisible or he used in for illusions or whatever magic crap he called it.
Clint started to keep his eye out.
Once he was looking for it, it was obvious Loki took it wherever they went.  It was always tucked away, buried under clothes and armor.  Even when they were back at the compound, Loki never let it leave his body.
Once in a while, he’d catch Loki running the metal between his fingers in thought, followed almost always by some sort of interjection about whatever mission was at hand and how to improve it.
He had to begrudgingly agree that most of Loki's suggestions were decent ones.  Maybe the ring gave him a type of insight; seeing into the future perhaps?
Either way, his suspicion was growing stronger everyday.  There had to be someway to figure out what it was.
It took about a month for him to get his chance.
Loki always kept the ring on while he was around other people; however, he wasn’t so careful while he was alone. Through some carefully place cameras, Clint discovered he did slip it off before going to sleep and whenever he went into the shower.
Sneaking in when he was sleeping was out.  Clint observed easily enough the man was a light sleeper.  Even with all his training, he doubt he could come up with a decent excuse if he got caught, which only left one other option.
He waited until the end of a particularly grueling mission.  Everybody was exhausted and a hot shower seemed like heaven, just the opportunity he needed.
Clint followed Loki to his room.  He didn’t enter until he heard the water running.  After that, it was easy enough.  In a flash he was in and out, holding the cool metal between his fingers and booking it to the lab.
A part of him felt childish. It was more like stealing a few bucks out of his brother’s wallet, rather than a high stake’s espionage to reveal a traitor.  Desperate times, he guessed.
Just his luck, Tony and Bruce were already tinkering away when he burst in.
“How quickly can you guys analyze this,” he said through panting breath.
The two scientist looked up in confusion.
“Somebody sell you a knock off ring?” Tony said, dryly.
Clint shook his head, not having time for jokes.  “It’s Loki’s.”
That got their attention.
“What does it do?”
“How’d you get it?”
“I don’t know and it doesn’t matter.  We have maybe ten minutes before he realizes it’s gone.”
Bruce shot Tony a skeptical look, but Tony ignored it.
“Let’s see it.”
Breathing a sigh of relief, Clint handed it over.
“I’ll get a sample and see what it’s made out of. If there’s anything not of Earth we’ll find it.  Bruce?”
Banner gave a reluctant sigh.  “I can check for energy readings.  If it’s anything like Thor’s hammer, something might turn up.  But, I honestly not sure what I’m looking for. You never said was Loki was using it for.”
Clint shrugged.  “I don’t know.  I just know he won’t go anywhere without it and he keeps it out of sight as best he can.  Nat only spotted it on accident and apparently he gave her this really weird look.”
“Weird how?”
“Just weird, like she saw something she shouldn’t.”
“Good enough for me,” Tony said, already placing the ring under a microscope. “Ten minutes you said?”
“Eight now.”
“Let’s get to work.”
Two minutes in Tony discovered the ring was mostly gold.  There were trace amounts copper and nickle, but only enough to keep the metal from being malleable.  Really, it wasn’t anything one wouldn’t find at a local jewelry store.
Bruce meanwhile, found nothing.  No radiation, no magnetic field, no anything to indicate it wasn’t just a completely normal ring.
Clint ran his hand through his hair in agitation; they had three minutes at most.
“There has to be something!”
“I’m telling you there isn’t,” Bruce insisted.
“It can’t be, why else would he have it?”
“Sentimental reasons? Maybe it’s his mother’s.”
Clint scoffed, but a nagging sense of doubt crept into his gut. “No.  You missed something.  Tony?”
“Not much, just that it’s stronger than it should be.”
Clint perked up at this. “How do you mean?”
“I mean there isn’t a scratch on it. If it has the amount of gold the computer says it does it should have some kind of wear on it, but nothing.  It’s perfectly preserved.”
Clint turned to Bruce.  “See, that’s weird right?”
Bruce rubbed his hand behind his neck.  “It is a little weird, but let’s not forget Loki isn’t exactly a local.”
“You’re defending him?” Tony accused.
“I’m not saying that.  I’m just saying we have to look at all the options.”
Clint opened his mouth to protest, when the doors slammed open behind him.
They were out of time.
“Stark,” Loki snapped. “I want a look at those cameras you–”
He stopped, physically halting in his place as he eyes quickly shot to the ring on the table.
His expression remained cool, but Clint was just able to catch look of panic flash across his features.
“Ah, there it is,” he said, smoothly.  “I’ll take that back now, if you don’t mind.”
He made a move toward it, but Tony was faster.
“You were looking for this,” he questioned.
Loki’s eyes narrowed.  “Yes.  I had misplaced it, but now that it’s found, I would like it back.”
“This is yours then?”
“Of course it’s mine.”
Tony nodded, giving a “what do you know about that” expression.
Clint straightened.  He could feel the tension rising between the two men.  Something was going to happen, he just had to be ready for the signal.
He was so focused on the scene in front of him, he failed to notice Bruce sneak carefully out of the room.
“It’s an interesting ring,” Tony said.  “Sturdy.”
“Indeed,” Loki said.  His mask was slipping, the frustration slowly melting it off his skin.
“I’m curious," Tony continued, "what exactly is so special about it? I’ve been running every test I can think of and nothing’s wrong with it.  Absolutely nothing.  It’s literally, the most perfect ring I’ve ever seen.” He took a pause, casually glancing in Clint’s direction.  “Might want to step back from that Barton, highly corrosive.”
Clint looked behind him to see a full beaker of bubbling liquid behind him.  Holding back a smile, he instantly understood.
“That’s all very well,” Loki said. “But it does not stop it from being mine.” He held out his hand.  “Return it to me, now.”
Tony smirked.  “Think fast.”
In a second, the ring was in the air, not towards Loki, but right for Clint.
He caught it mid-air, just in time for Loki to pivot towards him with murder in his eyes.
Clint didn’t hesitate.  Spinning around, he held the ring over the beaker silently daring the so called “god” to move.
Loki stayed in place, even as he vibrated with rage.
“Careful with that,” he warned, his voice sharp and cold as a knife.
“What is it, then?” Clint challenged.
“It’s a ring. Nothing more.”
“Really? Then I don’t see what I can’t just…” The chain slipped between his fingers.
“Don’t!” Loki snapped.
Clint caught it.  The ring remained intact, swinging dangerously close to it's demise.
Loki visibly sighed in relief, but something in his eye gave Clint pause.  It wasn’t just anger or even fear, it was pain.
He pressed his lips together, his mind whirling with what it could possibly mean.
“Why do you care about this?” Clint asked, again.
Loki’s eyes never left the glinting metal, as he shook his head.  “You wouldn’t believe me.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Yes.  Clearly you’ve already convinced yourself it serves some nefarious purpose.  You will not accept anything short of that explanation.”
“Give me a better one then.”
Loki lip twisted.  “I think not.  You see Agent Barton, I believe it’s perfectly within my power to take my ring back from you. The only choice you have is whether you want to keep it or your hand.”
With a flick of his wrist, a knife appeared in each of his hands, glinting sharp and ready.
“What is going on?” Thor’s voice echoed in the small room.
On instinct Clint turned his eyes away from Loki.
It happened in an instant. The sting of the cut. The cool metal slipping between his fingers.  A blast from the corner of the room. A brush of air. And a knife embedded in the wall behind, with the small chain dangling from the hilt.
Clint turned to see Loki thrown across the room.  Tony’s now armored arm was still raised, and ready for another attack.
Looking down at his own hand, Clint could see a trail of blood sliced across the back.
“What the hell?!” he snapped.
Loki struggled to his feet, leaning against the wall for support.  His brother was at his side in an instant.  Bruce stepped in the middle of it all, his arms spread wide.
“Everybody, calm down,” he said.  “Let’s not make this a bigger mess than it already is.”
“You’re seriously showing your belly, now?” Tony accused.
“Take it more like a warning growl,” Bruce countered.
The threat was obvious, making Tony visibly shocked.  He backed down, lowering his arm.
Thor supported Loki, bringing him fully to his feet.
“I’ll ask again, what is going on?” Thor said, will all the authority a prince of Asgard could muster.
“Just a little disagreement over stolen property,” Loki said, smoothly.
Thor’s eyes went to the necklace still swinging against the other wall. The anger on his features nearly matched Loki’s.
“Stark?”
“Me,” Barton interjected.  “I wanted to know what Loki was hiding.  From the length he’s willing to go to to get it back, it must be something.”
Thor shook his head.  “Do you have any idea what you might have done?”
“No, that’s kind of the point,” Tony said.  “What is it, the One Ring or something?”
“It’s a personal matter,” Loki said.
“No good enough.”
“Clint, drop it,” Bruce snapped.
“No! What is it? What the hell can be so important that you’re willing to finally drop your changed man act to get it back?!”
Thor let out a long sigh. “Barton, you can not–”
“Enough, brother,” Loki cut in. “You wanted a story Agent Barton? I’ll tell you one.
“Once upon a time in a land far away, there lived a prince.  Second born of his family, he grew accustomed to being looked over by others; his subject, his friends, even his father would easily pass him over."
"Does this have a point?" Clint interrupted.
Loki said nothing.
Clint's frown deepened, but it was obvious there was no other way he was going to get an answer out of the would be king.  So, he kept his mouth shut, until Loki started again.
"The prince grew resentful, turning deeper and deeper into himself. It came to the point where nothing else existed, except the darkness.  Until one day, he came upon a maiden practicing spells in a garden."
For the first time in Clint's memory, a soft smile came to Loki's lips.
“She was beautiful and intelligent, and the prince offered to teach the maiden what he knew.  She asked what he wanted in exchange, and the only answer he could give, was her company. And so they practiced and talked, and little by little the darkness around the prince began to fade. He was still second to many, but their opinions no longer mattered.  In the eyes of the maiden, he found light.”
He shook his head.  “The prince was never sure what the maiden saw in him, but it was enough for her to agree to marry him.  He then presented her with a ring.  An ordinary ring to some, far too simple for a soon to be princess, but in it held a spell.  The ring would never fade or tarnish, as long as his love for her survived.”
He blinked, his expression darkening.  “But love cannot protect one from death.  Long after they were married, but not nearly long enough, a plague tore through the kingdom.  It infested every corner from the lowest commoner to highest lord, until finally, it arrived at the palace gates.  The prince’s eldest brother, his mother, and wife all caught the disease. After weeks of uncertainty, it was determined they would pull through, save for one. The maiden, his light, died in his arms while they slept."
Loki paused, swallowing down the emotion clearly rising in his throat.
“The darkness returned with a vengeance, to which the prince succumbed.  He turned against his brother, his father, and everyone else he blamed for his failings. Slowly but surely, he pushed them all away until he found himself falling to an abyss, completely and utterly alone.
"But, that was not the end of the prince’s story.  For you see, the prince was not as alone was he thought.  Another found him, and offered him something he had no had in years; hope.
"He told the prince he sought six stones, that when combined would bend the universe to his will, including bringing back what was long dead."
Loki's eyes grew even more distant, his hand going to his chest, instinctively reaching for a familiar chain.
"He promised the prince he could bring back his light.  All the prince had to do was conquer a single planet. A simple task, the prince thought.  And so he went, ready to burn a world for the chance to see his love again.”
A sardonic smile spread across his face.  “But the prince failed and in his failure, he realized while he might be willing to pay such a price for his love, she would not feel the same.  And so he set to make amends, all the while keeping a symbol of their love close to his heart as a reminder of the light he must always remember is there.”
Loki paused, looking up to his captivated audience. In a room full of people compelled to give the have word, not a sound was uttered.
Maintaining the silence, he walked passed all of them to where his heart hung.  With a small tug, he pulled the knife from the wall, and lay the necklace gently in his open palm.
“Does that answer your questions, Agent Barton?” he asked, taking a moment to run his finger over the flawless gold.
Clint blinked, unsure of what to really say.  He really only had one question left to ask.
“What was her name?”
Loki glanced at him, and for the first time Clint saw him, not as a would be god, but as a man, tired and filled with regret.
“Sigyn.”

Essential Avengers: Avengers #243: Chain of Command!
Tumblr media
May, 1984
In this issue! The Vision takes command! Scarlet Witch fights a fire! Starfox battles bandits! And Earth’s Mightiest Heroes return from the Secret Wars!
Its one of my favorite sub-genres of comic covers! ‘Here’s a bunch of stuff going on in this issue’
Vision and his new hat make a good central element for the various other happenings to happen around. It doesn’t work quite as well as the Wizard’s control panel but its still good.
Last times on Avengers: Vision walked into an invisible wall and was stuck in a healing tube for a while. His recovery was hastened by Starfox connecting him to the Titan supercomputer ISAAC. While tube-bound, Vision detected several anomalous energy surges. Leaving his tube, Vision led the Avengers to Central Park to investigate where a large structure appeared and whisked away Hawkeye, Wasp, Thor, Captain Marvel, Captain America, and She-Hulk!
Bring them back, anomalous energy surge!
This time: Vision faces the press.
Tumblr media
Not only have many Avengers vanished, so have the Fantastic Four, the X-Men, and others. But its too early for Heroes Reborn!
Vision: “Certain irresponsible people have gone so far as to suggest a conspiracy to rob our world of its greatest heroes, to soften us up for some imagined invasion. Those are just rumors!”
Well, I didn’t think that before but I certainly am now!
Who let Vision be the person speaking to the press?
Apparently Vision did as he’s named himself the chairman in absence of Wasp.
What, Scarlet Witch doesn’t get the nod? She’s been with the team longer.
One reporter, not at all soothed by Vision’s insistence that there’s definitely no conspiracy going on, asks Vision to comment on reports of an alien invasion out of West Virginia.
Since Vision hasn’t received confirmation about the alien wraith menace, he basically tells the press ‘yeah i’ve heard of that but can’t really comment. BUT I can confirm that the Avengers are going to meet with a bunch of people from the National Security Council which I assume is going to be about the alien wraiths but who can really say!’
Watching this press conference on Air Force One, Henry Peter Gyrich says a swear.
Henry Peter Gyrich: “@#$%$ android!! Why doesn’t he give them our location and air speed while he’s at it?!”
Mr. Sikorsky points out that the meeting isn’t exactly classified and that the Washington Post reporter would have mentioned it if Vision hadn’t.
But Gyrich is still peeved because he thinks Vision should have consulted the NSA before giving a press conference.
This makes me feel gross but Gyrich actually agrees with me that Vision isn’t doing a great job of allaying people’s fears with this press conference.
Reporter: “If worse comes to worse, how do you plan to deal with the potential for civil unrest?”
Vision: “In the same way the Avengers have always dealt with it. We have always been strongly supportive of civil authority at all levels -- and we’re not about to change our position now! The public should not feel that they are unusually threatened in the current situation!”
Ironically, this press conference is being played on a tv at a bank that is currently being robbed. And there’s a bunch of hostages who probably feel unusually threatened in the current situation.
But the irony giveth and takeith away.
When TV Vision says “Never let it be said that the Avengers abandoned their responsibilities to --” Starfox shows up to punch some bank robbers.
Probably thinking ‘oh thank god, some dumb adventure finally.’ He just wants to punch people and have adventures.
And punch some bank robbers he does do, until one of them takes a woman hostage and says he’ll shoot her if Starfox doesn’t let him walk out the door.
Annnnnnnd.
Yeah. Uh.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Starfox does a thing?
His head glows pink and the bank robber’s head glows pink and he suddenly can’t stop laughing and now he’s Starfox’s best friend.
My god, he can make people drunk with his mind?? So this is his secret power!
Truly, he is the mightiest Avenger...
Anyway, Starfox turns his new best friend over to the cops, showing he’s no friend at all, and then flies off.
The giggly bank robber staying giggly as he obligingly walks into the police van, weirding out the cops.
Meanwhile, the Avengers press conference at the Avengers Mansion ends.
A reporter: “Psstt! Do you believe any of that”
Another reporter: “Suurre, just like I believed that Nixon wasn’t a crook!”
Wow, sweet politics dunk.
Geez, Vision, you got politics dunked on. You did not convince people in that press conference at all...
Vision: “It did not go as I’d hoped! It is the duty of these people to probe and question, but by the manner of their questioning, I could tell they didn’t accept my reassurances. If their reaction is a common one, my speech may have done more harm than good.
He floats up through the ceiling, giving Mockingbird a startle.
Tumblr media
They have a talk to establish that Sue, Franklin, and Alicia from the FF books are staying with the Avengers due to the rest of the FF catching a bad case of disappearing.
Vision has invited Mockingbird to stay with the Avengers until they find out what happened to Hawkeye.
Mockingbird: “Look, Vision, don’t give me false hope just because I’m a newlywed. Level with me... Is there any chance that Hawk’s still alive?”
Vision: “This is not the first time Avengers have disappeared. There is always hope.”
He’s got a point. The Collector for one is constantly collecting the Avengers. Sure, he’s dead now but this is a superhero universe.
Vision then floats up through another ceiling, giving Mockingbird another startle.
Mockingbird: I will never... never get used to that!
Vision floats up into the communications center where Scarlet the Wanda Witch is monitoring the monitors. She tells him that there’s been no more news on the disappearances.
Vision: “Then we must draw encouragement from the fact no bad news has been received.”
Scarlet Witch: “I didn’t say no bad news had come in! Agents Gyrich and Sikorski radioed that they’ll be arriving on schedule and they want to see you right away! Gyrich didn’t sound happy.”
Hahahahahahahahah. I love that Gyrich arriving on schedule is bad news. Because he’s the worst.
Wanda also updates Vision on her progress in contacting reserve and inactive Avengers to help cover the sudden personnel shortage.
She’s contacted Black Panther, Wonder Man, the Falcon, and Black Knight who are standing by for an emergency alert. She hasn’t been able to contact Hercules or Black Widow.
Huh. Wonder what they’re up to. I was sure that the Champions book was dead by this point.
She offers to contact Quicksilver but Vision tells her to hold off.
He asks her where Starfox is and she tells Vision that he went out to handle that bank robbery thing we saw him handle.
Vision: “That’s excellent! Now more than ever, the Avengers must maintain a high level of visibility! And responding to day-to-day emergencies is an ideal way to do it! Stopping a bank robbery accomplishes more than a dozen news conferences!”
Especially one of your conferences, zing!
Sorry, Vizh! It was just really bad!
A fire alarm comes in over the monitors and Scarlet Witch runs off to handle it. Because she was handling it on the cover. It wouldn’t do to create a time paradox.
As soon as Wanda leaves, Vision slouches down into a chair in his Visiony way and consults the giant holographic head of ISAAC, the great and powerful.
There’s so many giant heads in this book lately.
Tumblr media
ISAAC has apparently kept the link to Vision going since Starfox hooked the two of them up. Vision seems okay with the fact that a supercomputer is linked to his brain.
Vision: “That explains the greater memory capacity I’ve felt lately!”
And with the fact that its a two-way street, with Vision having access to ISAAC’s data... and vice versa.
Vision is smiling and everything seems to be looking up but this still bodes.
Anyway, the synthezoid bemoans that the disappearance of half of the Avengers has allowed him to rise to a position of authority but that it doesn’t seem to matter.
Vision: “I must lead a team of respected Avengers, if I am to meet my goals. But our most revered members are missing. A new team could be assembled -- but without Thor or Captain America behind me, the public will never accept what I have in mind.”
ISAAC: “You reason people will not fully trust an artificial man, a synthezoid such as yourself. But you need not convince all of them... only a few select individuals!”
Vision: “Of course! And in my expanded capacity, I have the means to do just that!”
Um.
Umm.
Seems shady.
Seems shadier that the ‘means to do just that’ involves intangibling to the electronics laboratory.
MEANWHILE ON THE MOON
Love saying that. Thank you, comics.
Meanwhile on the moon, Quicksilver and Crystal have a household discussion.
They decided not to expose Perfectly Human Baby Luna to the terrigen mist in The Thing #3 but none of the Inhumans have experience with human babies. And Crystal has decided that what she really needs is a “good down-to-earth nanny!”
Literally, a nanny from Earth. But one that can deal with Inhuman society.
Quicksilver muses that he may know just such a person.
It’s Bova, isn’t it? It better be Bova.
But are Inhumans really so incapable when it comes to human babies? There’s a lot of Inhumans that aren’t externally mutated at all. Wouldn’t a human baby just be easier to care for?
And do the Inhumans really expose their babies to the mists? Based on Inhumanity event, it doesn’t matter when a latent Inhuman is exposed, they’ll develop powers anyway. So why not wait until they can walk and talk?
Your society is silly, Inhumans!
Meanwhile, over at the fire, there is a fire. Right in the heart of midtown Manhattan, a place you wouldn’t generally want to be on fire.
Scarlet Witch offers to help but the fire chief on site is skeptical about what she could do to help.
She quickly confirms that there are no civilians in the building and that the firefighters caught inside are wearing oxygen masks and tells the firefighters to keep hosing down the buildings.
Then she gets to her witchy work.
Tumblr media
Using the awesome and OP power of probability manipulation, she manipulates the probability that all the oxygen in the area will just decide to not go near the fire.
OP AF.
But its a big thing to do so she can’t do it indefinitely. So she tells the firefighters to hose the buildings to drop the temperature so it doesn’t reignite when the oxygen rushes back in.
I do love how OP probability manipulation is. Without even needing to be straight up reality alteration!
People complaining that Wanda is too powerful to write around, she can sit comfortably in the ‘can move all the gas around but it takes effort’ level!
Do Anything powers makes her a good wild card for whatever nonsense you need to happen and one of the more powerful Avengers without being so powerful that she’s difficult to write around in a team context.
Anyway, as foreshadowed, Gyrich and Sikorski arrive and Gyrich immediately gets to Gyriching, complaining that it was too easy for him to access the mansion with but a simple card swipe.
Henry Peter Gyrich: “See here, Jarvis, it’s not that I don’t appreciate courtesy, but no one should be granted entrance without a security check!”
Jarvis: “Indeed, sir! Anyone might steal your card! That is why the two of you were scanned by a dozen or more devices by the time you passed our gates. You’ll be happy to know that your identities were verified. Otherwise our defensive systems would have dropped you where you stood!”
Sikorski: “D-dropped?”
Haha, eat shit, Gyrich.
Jarvis leads the two to meet Vision in the electronics laboratory.
Vision has. Made an interesting fashion choice.
You’ve seen it on the cover and boy does it also happen in the book.
Tumblr media
Vision explains that the hat is some testing equipment he made to check the hardware after his recent time stuck in a tube. But its all good. He’s operating in peak condition and feeling amazing.
Gyrich isn’t impressed or assuaged and asks Vision if he was trying to start a panic with his press conference.
Vision: “Admittedly, I may not be the Avengers’ best spokesman, but, given the circumstances, I was all we had! I do appreciate and understand your concern, though, and I’m glad you’re both here. As you said, we’ve got a lost to discuss!
Vizh, you’re going to get the Avengers operating out of city buses again.
Meanwhile back over at the fire, while the fire chief is thanking Wanda for her help, a big flash lights up the sky, just like when the Avengers were spirited away last issue.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Wanda commandeers a police car to drive her to Central Park. You can do that when you’re an Avenger and have A1 (steak sauce?) priority.
Starfox also spots the flash while flying around the city and Mockingbird spots it from the Mansion.
In Central Park, on the exact spot where the six Avengers vanished, five of them plus Iron Man return. Also that large structure from before reappears too.
Only one issue and several days in-universe and the Avengers are already back! Minus She-Hulk. Where the hell is She-Hulk.
Iron Man (I’m assuming Rhodey) immediately takes off to go do Iron Man stuff. I think his armor has changed but I haven't been following the Iron Man book close enough to know for sure. I just don’t think the armor usually has little shoulder antenna.
The Avengers that were headed towards the giant flash start arriving for the happy reunion. Since Mockingbird was right across the road, she arrives first and throws herself into Hawkeye’s arms.
Tumblr media
Awww.
Scarlet Witch asks the heroes returned where the hell they were and Cap says
Captain America: “You can find out all about it in the Secret Wars limited series, on sale soon!”
Naw, just kidding.
He says he’ll Explain It All when they get back to the Mansion. Because for reasons, he’s decided its best that the public not know about the Secret War.
Probably so the event’s title makes sense? Yeah, probably.
The cops that brought Wanda to the park go uhhhh but we need to take statements about where you’ve been so Cap(tain America) flashes his Avengers card which means he can do what he wants.
Captain America: “I’m afraid that any statements we make must be submitted at the federal level first. You understand.”
And the cops go yeah that sounds legit.
BUT WHAT ABOUT SHE-HULK?
Well, she joined the Fantastic Four, of course.
Wanna know why?
Captain America: “You can find out all about it in the Secret Wars limited series, on sale soon!”
Yeah, we don’t get any more information except that she’s taking the Thing’s place on the foursome.
What happened to Ben Grimm?
Captain America: “You can find out all about it in the Secret Wars limited series, on sale soon!”
It be like that.
So this isn’t the narrative reason but here’s the doylist reason. When Stern and Byrne were collaborating on that Annihilus story, Byrne decided he liked writing She-Hulk and that he wanted her. Stern apparently was cool with this and the character was shifted from one team to the other.
A couple years later, Byrne is going to write the Sensational She-Hulk series which sets the tone for the character. But based on an FF liveblog a friend is doing, Byrne does not hit the stride with She-Hulk while she’s in that book.
I’m a bit annoyed because I was really enjoying her in Avengers.
In a bit of a sad comedic beat, cabs still don’t want to stop for the seven foot green woman, even now that she’s wearing an FF uniform.
She-Hulk returns to Avengers Mansion for the post-event debriefing meeting where she runs into Captain Marvel looking melancholic.
Monica has come to a decision after being whisked away to an event for several days.
Captain Marvel: “I called my parents to let them know I was okay... In case they wondered where i was lately... and there was no answer!”
She-Hulk: “I take it they don’t know about your life as Captain Marvel yet?”
Captain Marvel: “Not yet. And after all we went through -- in that insane Secret War, I definitely want them to know, but -- !”
She-Hulk: “You’re not sure how to tell them?”
Captain Marvel: “Yeah.”
Yeesh, I wonder how Spider-Man dealt with disappearing for several days. He’s always on the knifes edge of his life just falling apart completely.
Captain Marvel and She-Hulk join the rest in the main assembly hall. Wasp and Vision are off in a private meeting. He was handling chairmen duties and making decisions and such while she was gone so she probably needs to debrief him personally.
As Hawkeye points out, the Avengers have two chairmen now and nine members.
Minutes later, Wasp and Vision emerge from the... I dunno, sub-assembly hall? Secondary assembly broom closet? Wherever they went to have a just them talk.
Wasp calls the meeting to order.
Tumblr media
... And then immediately steps down as chairwoman??
;___;
RIP Wasp’s Totally Sweet Time Leading the Avengers, issue #217 - #243.
T-twenty-six issues isn’t a bad run...
I guess someone else should get the chance.
Like Vision. Who Wasp nominates.
Cap’s Biggest Fan Hawkeye nominates Captain America instead but Cap defers. His civilian career (cartoonist, I think?) has been pretty hectic.
So how about second her nomination of Vision then hmmmmmm Wasp suggests.
And that’s how Big Plans Vision gets voted the new chairman.
Tumblr media
And he’s got big plans!
First! Since Thor and She-Hulk are going to be too busy doing Thor and Fantastic Four stuff to be active Avengers but are too cool to just completely cut from the roster just because Byrne decided he gets She-Hulk now, Vision creates a new type of Avengers status.
Vision: “I propose the establishment of a special ‘detached membership’ status. You would function as active members when you were available, and reservists when you were not.”
She-Hulk: “Hey, that sounds ideal.”
Thor: “Indeed!”
Everybody’s happy! Except Hawkeye because he can count and he’s still counting to seven when the max roster is supposed to be six. And he’s got a bad feeling that he’s unlucky number seven!
But Vision’s big plans don’t stop at saying that She-Hulk and Thor can pitch in whenever they’re around.
He’s also proposing the creation of a second team on the west coast. Some kind of............. West Coast Avengers, perhaps.
Between Gyrich and Sikorski arriving for the meeting with Vision and now, Gyrich has managed to get reassigned to new duties. Somehow.
Anyway, that means his understudy Mr. “I hate the superhero genre” Sikorski is their new NSA liason.
Mr. Sikorski: “I have spoken at length this afternoon with both the Wasp and the Vision, and I am prepared to offer full governmental backing for the establishment of a West Coast branch of the Avengers. I’ve been convinced that it’s a... logical solution. Perfectly logical!”
Weird to have an ellipses but okay.
And the person Vision has chosen to lead this new team?
None other than Hawkeye!
Oh, Clint, your dream is coming true and all you had to do was be vaguely antagonistic and obnoxious in the vicinity of the Avengers off and on for years to establish yourself!
Tumblr media
Vision: “You’ve had years of experience as an Avenger, and you’ve worked with nearly everyone who’s ever been a member. You and Mockingbird can relocate quickly...”
In fact, its imperative that he do! He do relocate and get the West Coast team up and running ASAP!
Vision: “Mr. Sikorski has shown me frightening evidence of a new threat to freedom worldwide! Unless we prepare ourselves, this planet could be overrun by an alien race known as -- THE DIRE WRAITHS!!”
Huh. I guess that journalist was onto something.
And I guess its ROM time?
No. We had a Secret Wars, remember? And while that was doled out over a year, I’m going to go a little faster.
So next time, some Secret Wars.
Although, it was just the one war actually.

Avengers Preference #5
How the Avengers react when you tell them you want to try something new in the bedroom - Plus Size/Chubby Reader
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Tony
Tony is all for it. He loves to experiment in the bedroom so all you need to do is ask and Tony would be more than willing to try it with you. It doesn’t matter when you ask him, if it sounds exciting enough, he’d wanna do it with you right then and there. “JARVIS, put the lab on lockdown, I have some...research to be attending to.”
Tumblr media
Steve
Steve is pretty vanilla in the bedroom, since he wasn't very sexually active before the serum or even after it really. He probably wouldn’t know half of the positions you talk about but he is more than willing to let you catch him up on all the different ways you can have sex. “Doll, I’m not sure about- right now? Okay, let’s head to your place.”
Tumblr media
Thor
Thor would be more than a little confused when you ask him to experiment in the bedroom, thinking you wanted to build something in there with Tony. Once you explained what you meant, trying not to be embarrassed, he would happily agree to try new things. He wouldn’t understand that you wanted to keep it private though and would boast about it to the others the next day. “My god, you’ll never believe what Lady (Y/N) can do with her tongue while I’m-” “Shut up, Thor!” “Was I not supposed to tell the others how you pleased me?”
Tumblr media
Bruce
Bruce would get very flustered whenever you brought up the topic of trying new things in the bedroom. He would be very skeptical of doing anything that might make him get too worked up and let out the Hulk. He would also hate the idea of hurting you. It would take a lot, a mean a lot, of persuading before he would agree to spice things up in the bedroom. “How would we even do that?...Oh? Really? U-uh no, no, not tonight, maybe next time.”
Tumblr media
Peter
Peter is a teenage boy, do I really need to say any more? When you ask him to try something new in the bedroom, you would be pulled away to said bedroom before you can even finish your sentence. He might be a little too eager to try it out, probably wanting to do it as well but he didn't want to weird you out so he kept it to himself. “You sure? Okay baby, let’s go.” “Where are we going?” “Bedroom.” “I didn’t mean right now, Peter.” “I did.”
Tumblr media
Natasha
Natasha and you love to have variety in your sex life, so when you tell her about one of your newer kinks that you would want to explore, she would be very excited to try it out as well. Especially if she is in control, she will be down to do just about anything with you. “What’s on your mind, princess?” “Can we maybe try something new in the bedroom?” “You know I love to hear you say that.”
Tumblr media
Bucky
Bucky would be a little hesitant at first, not open to the idea of hurting you or anything that might get out of control. Once you promise he won’t be able to hurt you anymore than you might want him to, he’d be all for it. He doesn't want to disappoint you so he would try it at least once. “I dunno doll, are you sure I won’t be able to hurt you?” “I promise,” “Okay then, we can do it.”
Tumblr media
Loki
Loki would be similar o Natasha, in that he likes to have variety in his sex life. When you suggest to try something new, chances are he’s already done it and will agree to do it with you as well. He might be a little hesitant to agree if you suggest anything where he isn’t the one in control, but a little sensual persuasion and he’s all yours. “My love, I was hoping you would say that.”
Tumblr media
Wanda
Wanda would be very skeptical and hesitant if you suggest using her powers in the bedroom, not sure if she would be able to control herself. Anything else and she would be happy to indulge in your fantasies, wanting to do her best to please you like a lover should. Sometimes, she may also ask you to try different things as well, if a thought should ever cross her mind. “Моє кохання, if it will please you, I shall do it.”
Tumblr media
Clint
Clint would be very excited and turned on whenever you suggest another kink you want to explore in the bedroom. It doesn't matter if it was really good or kind of unsatisfying, he will do it because he likes the look on your face when he indulges in one of your kinks with you. “Baby girl, you know you never have to ask, I’ll do whatever you want me to.”

The Carry On - (5/5)
Pairings: Mob!Bucky x fem!reader
Warnings: mentions of violence, mentions of animal abuse, SMUT!! 18+. Summary in the tag reblog! Masterlist
Today, you were at the clinic as Bucky walked in after his group therapy sessions and some time with Steve.
“Hey, baby doll.” Bucky smiled sweetly as he leant over the reception desk to pressed a kiss to your cheek.
“Hey.” You smiled at him. “How was today?”
“It was...” Bucky sighed. “Interesting.”
You frowned at his words. “Interesting how?”
Bucky frowned to himself before telling you. “We’ve had a problem with Thor for a while and an incident happened today. He was thrown out a window.”
“Oh my gosh.” You said in shock.
“Yeah.” Bucky sighed. “We trying to do something about it.”
You knew better than to push and frankly you didn’t really want to. You still had your problems with the business he is in but you were still grateful for some of the people working with him.
Bucky sighed but shook his head. “Anyway, are you ready for dinner.”
You were about to open your mouth to answer when a scared howl came from the back rooms of the clinic.
You sighed.
“We might be a little held up.” You said sadly.
“What on earth was that?” Bucky’s face washed with concern as he still heard the whimpers.
“We had a poor Rottweiler dumped at the front door today. One of his legs is broken but he keeps trying to get away from the nurses and running on his leg.” Bucky could see the worry in your eyes for the dog. “We can tell he has been abused and he’s so scared of everyone.”
“Jeez.” Bucky muttered as he tried to peer around the back. “What’s happening now?”
“They’ve got him and they are trying to retrain him before they give him painkillers and examine him further. But every time we touch him he must think he’s going to be hurt, so he screams.” You explained.
You hated seeing such a beautiful dog in such a frightened state.
“If his leg is that bad they will have to amputate it. And if no one comes to claim him then we will have no choice but to euthanise him.” You look away with tears in your eyes.
Bucky can see your distress about the situation.
“What don’t you claim him?” Bucky suggested.
You looked at him in shock.
“Can you do that? I mean, I don’t see why not, and if he was dumped here then I don’t think anyone will come back for him.”
You stared at him, still dumbstruck by his suggestion. He could see in your eyes that you were skeptic, and he couldn’t blame because of his previous actions. But he wanted more than anything to move passed it and make up for it.
You thought for a moment about the suggestion. You did not want to have this dog put down, it wasn’t fair. But he also might never be okay again.
“I just don’t think he deserves the be put down yet.” Bucky said softly, grasping your hand.
You looked up to his eyes and saw he meant what he was saying.
“You would be okay with this?” You gave a little smile.
Bucky smiled and nodded back to you. “Of course.” He said softly.
You stood from the chair and walked around the reception desk and wrapped you arms around his neck.
“What brought this on?” You asked, looking into his eyes.
His hands settled on your hips and he sighs. “Those creatures should have to suffer at the hands of a human.” You could see the hint guilt in his eyes. “They deserve to be on this planet a lot more than most of us do.” He gave you a sad smile.
You smiled back and softly cupped his cheeks, pulling his face to you and pressing your lips against his.
When you pulled back, Bucky witness the biggest smile stretch across your face.
“It will take a little while to get the papers ready. And he’ll have to stay here tonight.” You ran around the desk and started typing into the computer before lifting your head and looking at Bucky again with a grimace. “We might be a little late to dinner.”
Bucky smiled and waved it off. “Dinner can wait. Your dress is in the car, take all the time this needs.”
Tumblr media
After a gruelling a hour of processing claim papers and arguing with nurses and doctors about taking this dog home, you finally got accepted and headed to dinner. Which was more a fancy gathering connected to a club. Your dress was very specially flattering and you felt so sexy. Bucky opened the car door for you and wrapped his arm around your waist lovingly, pulling your body to him.
“You are so gorgeous.” He placed a kiss to your jaw and your cheek, his fluffy beard tickling your skin and making you giggle.
“You’re handsome.” You slid your hands over his chest and nudged his nose with yours. “Tie me up later?”
He’s never tied you up before and the very thought of seeing you splayed for him makes his dick jump.
“Fuck yes.” He mumbled and bit his lip.
You brushed your finger over his lips and made your way to the entrance of the venue, swaying your hips and pulling him along after you.
Stepping inside, you both were immediately greeted with a loud voice.
“Barnes!” Tony Stark called out, lifting a flute of champagne in his hand.
You watched as the billionaire and his wife made his way over to you and Bucky.
“You’re late.” Tony shook Bucky’s hand.
“We had something very important to do.” Bucky smiled and squeezed your hip.
“June, you look gorgeous.” Tony leaned in to kiss your cheek.
“Thank you, Tony.” You gave him a tight smile. Ever since you’d found found that Steve and Tony suspected you were leaking the information you did your try and stay as civil as you could without completely avoiding them.
“How are you, June? I haven’t seen you in a long time.” Pepper have you a sweet smile.
“I’ve been really good, Pep. I’ve missed you.” You returned her smile.
“Hope you don’t mind, James but I need to steal your girl.” Pepper grasped your hand.
“Of course not.” Bucky pressed a soft kiss to your cheek. “Go have fun.” He patted you on the backside as Pepper pulled you away from the men.
“We’ll let them do their thing. I wanna know, hows the rural life?” Pepper swiped a glass from a bench as you walked passed it and handing it to you.
“It’s so quiet and peaceful. No traffic, no loud neighbours. It’s the best.” You said with a soft tone. You truly did love living in the areas you are in now.
“I’m trying to convince Tony to move us up there. I can’t deal with the traffic anymore. No matter how sound proof he makes the walls.” You laugh at her words.
“Pepper!” A voice called her name and caught both of your attention.
You saw four women and one man standing around a table with drinks. Two women you recognised as Natasha and Okoye and you had seen the man before but you couldn’t remember. One of the women you didn’t recognise had long brown hair that fell down to her mid back. Her black spaghetti strap dress hugged her hips and her waist, allowing you to drink in her entire body. Her eyes watched you as you moved towards them. You saw then rake over your body and you grew hot under her gaze, her look radiating pure sex.
The other woman let off a very different vibe. Her hair was pulled in tight, her dress stuck out with a dark green colour and her lips stained red. Her chin was stuck out and her eyebrows arched as she observed you.
“Hey, there.” Pepper greeted enthusiastically as you arrived at the table. “June, this is Wanda,” Pepper gestured to the beautiful woman who was giving you a sexy smile. “And Dot.” She said, pointing to the other woman who was very clearly judging you.
“Hi.” You tried to offer Dot a smile but she gave a small tight lipped smile in return.
“June.” Natasha brushed passed Dot and moved to hug you. “It’s been so long.” She squeezed you.
“It really has. How was your mission?” You asked. They pulled her out of Hydras gang after they learnt who the mole was.
Nat rolled her eyes. “Disgusting. Sleeping with a man that’s three times my age is almost the worst thing I’ve ever done.”
You smirked at her. “Almost.”
She hummed in agreement before winking at you.
“Okoye, how have you been?” You gave the woman a wide smile.
“You know, keeping a fully grown man from hurting himself with his own tech has its perks.” Okoye chuckled to herself before sipping her drink.
You smiled at her before moving your eyes to Wanda, who was watching you intently.
“And what do you do?” You asked in the most polite way you could and tilted your head.
Her eyes gave you a lustful once over before answering you. “I own all over this.” She gestured to the big space and the club through the big doors. “I mainly provide a safe space for the incoming cargo and deal with the shipments that are sent out.” She shrugged as if it was no big deal. “I also give special treatment to those few special people.” Wanda places her hand one yours and traces the back of your hand.
“Alright, down girl.” The man said, nudging Wanda with his elbow. “That’s a married woman.”
“That’s never stopped me before.” Wanda winked at you before removing her hand and picked up her drink.
“I’m not sure if you remember me, but I’m Clint.” The man introduced himself.
“I do remember you.” You pointed. “You were very drunk last time I saw you.” You remembered his loud laughing at your wedding.
Your comment made Clint blush. “Yeah well, I’ve managed to keep good control of my liquor lately.”
You nodded in approval.
“June,” Dot said your name, catching everyone’s attention. “We heard what happened with Bucky. He really pulled back on his involvement with the business.”
You frowned at the woman. You had never met her in your life and she knew what had happened with your husband. Everyone turned their heads to glare at her.
She pretended to clear her throat, as if she only just realised how strange it was to know that.
“Sorry, dear.” She gave you a plastic smile. “I used to date Bucky. I just found it so shocking he would man-handle his wife like that. He never hurt me when we were together.” Her chin raised higher as she boasted about her past with Bucky.
You narrowed your eyes at her and sighed. “What exactly do you want to hear, Dot?”
“June, you don’t have to.” Pepper touches your arm.
“It’s okay, Pepper.” You gave her a nice smile.
“Well, I guess I just find it interesting that you stayed with him after he did that, that’s all.” Her smug face was stretched into a smile.
“Not that it’s any of you business, but I made him beg.” You said simply. You weren’t going to feed into this bitches bait.
She gave you a look as if she was impressed. She took another sip of her drink before opening her fat mouth again.
“So, has he tied you up yet?” Dot asked with a smug smirk on her face.
You saw Natasha shift in her place, disapproving of Dots question. Okoye and Wanda rolled their eyes.
You sighed and looked down to your drink before curling your lip. “No, he hasn’t.” You watched as a triumphant smirk graced her face. “But I’ve tied him up.”
Natasha coughs into her drink as she took a sip. Wanda smiles at you proudly and Dots face turned into one of shock and confusion.
“Had him laying there for a long time. Teased him, edged him, finally let him cum.” You sighed at the memory. He looked so good underneath you, abs constricting and body sweating as he begged you to let him come while you worked the fleshlight over his hardened and purpled cock.
“He treated me so good after that.” You leaned in close to Dot. “You and I both know how good he is with his mouth.” You have her a wink.
Natasha began to fan herself as she listened to you take down Dot ever so sweetly.
“Dot, can you please stop. You’re making a fool of yourself.” Pepper scolded the woman.
Dot held up her hands in surrender. “Okay, fine. I can take a hint.” Dots words dripped with venom as she swiped her drink from the table and walked away.
“We have to kinda keep her around, because she dated Bucky.” Wanda said to you while eyeing Dot walking away.
“Yeah. They were afraid she might talk so it was either keep her around or kill her.” Clint explained.
You scoffed and lifted your drink to your lips. “Wrong choice.”
You watched as Clint laughed at your comment, went to speak to you but decided last minute.
“You look like you have something to say.” You say to Clint.
Clint puts down his drink and gives a sheepish smile. “Well, yeah I do, I do. But,” He pauses and lifts a finger to his mouth. “You seem like a really nice person and I don’t want to offend you in any way.”
You raised your eyebrows. “Ooh, this sounds interesting.” You are officially intrigued.
“Well, what did you think about what happened to the God of Thunder?” Clint asked you.
“Who’s the God of Thunder?” You frowned at him.
“You probably know him only by Thor, but that’s what he is known as around here.” Clint explained.
And you nodded. “Yeah he fell out of a window.”
“Well that’s one way to put it.” Clint suggested. “Another way is to say he was thrown out. And another way to put it is that he was thrown out by Bucky and even another way is to say he was thrown out by Bucky because of you.”
“Is that a fact?” You ask him.
“No, no. That’s just what I heard.” Clint held his hands up.
“And where did you hear that?” This rumour was now starting to amuse you.
“They.” Clint said simply and you nodded.
“‘They’ talk a lot don’t they?”
“They certainly do.” Clint nodded and looked at you.
“What else did ‘they’ say?” You asked.
“Well...” he trailed off his sentence.
“Did it involve the ‘f word’.” You arched a brow and smirked.
“No, they just said he had given you a foot massage.” These words confused you even more.
“You heard that Bucky threw Thor God of Thunder out of a window for giving me a foot massage?” You recounted in your brain.
“Yeah.” Clint nodded, amused.
“And you believe that?”
“Well the time I was told, it seemed reasonable.” He shrugged.
“You thought that Bucky throwing Thor our of a window for massaging my feet seemed reasonable?” You asked incredulously. What the hell do these guys talk about?
“No, it seemed excessive but that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.” He lifted a finger. “I understand that Bucky is very protective of you.”
“A man being protective of his wife is one thing, what you’re saying,” You pointed to him. “Is a whole other thing.”
Clint nodded and you looked to the women. “Do you all believe this?”
They all shook their heads. “Nope, that’s just what has been heard.” Pepper confirmed that is was a spread rumour.
You hummed in response, you didn’t realise gangsters gossiped as much as they did.
“But did it happen?” Clint asked
“The only thing Thor ever touched of mine was my hand when he shook it.” You confirmed to him. “At my wedding.”
“Really?” Clint asked.
“When you little scamps get together you’re worse than a sewing circle.” You huffed at his question.
You picked up your drink and downed the rest of it. You couldn’t believe that I’m not even 24 hours rumours were already forming about the incident with Thor. You actually didn’t believe Bucky did it, but you weren’t going to tell him that.
A hand snakes around your waist and squeezed at your side. You smiled as you felt his body against your back and his lips on your neck.
“What are you birds talking about?” Tony asked, putting his hands on Pepper’s hips.
“Oh, just gossiping.” Natasha smirked as she pinched Clint’s forearm.
You turned your head to look at Bucky, seeing his beautiful blue eyes.
“You enjoying yourself?” He asked in a low voice.
“The time of my life.” You said sarcastically, pecking his lips.
Steve and his wife Peggy emerged with the crowd. Steve saw you and gave you a nod. He had been a lot more civil with you lately and as much as you still resented him, you stayed civil as well. Peggy was a beautiful lady who was always nice to you.
She smiled brightly at you.
“Hey.” You said to her giving her a quick kiss on the cheek.
“Hi darling.” She said back.
“We are actually about to head off.” Steve announces. “Gotta get home to those kids.”
“Yeah we should be going too.” T’Challa said as he stood behind Okoye. “Don’t want Shuri taking advantage of her time alone too much.”
“Bummers.” Tony stuck his tongue out. “We are going to head in there.” He pointed to the club.
Natasha clapped her hands. “Yes!” Her and Clint cheered.
Bucky kisses your hair. “So are we.”
“Alright you guys have fun.”
You waved them off as you made your way into the club.
The whole atmosphere had changed. The place was dark with purple, pink and blue colours replacing the natural colours. The music made the floor bounce and you can feel the heat of everyone inside.
“Hey,” Wanda called to and Bucky. “I have a room reserved!”
Bucky was intrigued. “I think you have interested her.” He whispered in your ear as you following the woman.
“Is that a bad thing?” You asked, looking up at him.
His eyes are changing colours with the lights. But you have see they are full of lust. “Absolutely not.” He says in a low voice. Because he knows Wanda, and he knows you.
You smirk at him. You knew that he knew.
You followed Wanda through a set of curtains which led you down a hallway that held many different curtain doors. She pulled aside a curtain and offered you and Bucky to head on in. You could still hear the music but it wasn’t so loud.
Inside the room and man was seated on the couch that wrapped around the entire room and surrounded a table.
“Vision!” Bucky greeted the man. They embraced as you shuffled into the little room. Wanda followed and took a seat right next to you.
“Jeez, it’s been so long.” Bucky patted him on the back and sat on the other side of you.
“Too long, my friend.” His British accent flowed through the room. “You must be his beautiful wife, June.”
“Very beautiful.” Wanda added.
You turned to find her gazing at your chest. Her eyes shuffled up to your face to look at your hooded eyes. Bucky and Vision continued to quietly interact.
“See something you like?” You asked her, your voice low and your lips pursed.
“Everything on you, I like. I can only imagine how it must feel to touch.” Wanda said, placing her hand on your exposed thigh and rubbing gently.
You placed your hand on Bucky’s thigh, catching his attention.
“Fuck.” Bucky mumbled under his breath. Vision smirked at you and his woman.
“You do this often?” You arched your brow at her.
She smirks. “Only to those who are absolutely captivating.”
“And your man doesn’t mind?” You ask.
She shook her head. “He knows I don’t believe in monogamy. I’m attracted to too many people at a time. And right now,” she leaned in closer. “I really attracted to you.”
Wanda’s heated gaze made your core tingle. Never had you met a woman who radiated so much sexuality. It was rolling off her in think waves and pulling you to her. You kept you hand on Bucky’s thigh as you and Wanda closed the gap between you two, lips touching in a soft kiss.
You felt Bucky shift under your touch, you squeezed his leg before taking it off and bringing your hand to rest on the base of Wanda’s throat. The kiss became deeper and her tongue poked into your mouth. You moan as you let her in, your body growing hot.
Bucky and Vision moves away from you two to watch, drinks and cigarettes in hand, enjoying the two women they love kiss.
Wanda’s body shifted so she was completely facing you and her hand gripped your thigh. You slowly hooked your hands under her arms and pulled her closer, feeling her breasts press against yours through your dresses.
Wanda moaned in your mouth and pulled your leg over hers, pulling you on top of her.
You straddle her and lean back to unzip your dress, maintaining heavy eye contact with her the entire time. Wanda watched you as she pulled the straps of her dress over her arms. You pulled your arms out of the sleeves and shoved them down your chest, freeing your breasts that were clad in your black lace bra. Wanda sat up quickly and latched her lips to you breasts, massaging them in her palms.
You leaned your head back and moaned at the feeling. Your thighs tightened around her waist to stay in place as she ravished your chest. From the corner of your eye you could see Bucky adjusting himself in his pants as he watched you. You smirked to yourself knowing he and Vision were enjoying watching the two of you. You looked down at Wanda and lift her face from your breasts to your lips. You kissed your feverishly and pushed her back against the couch.
You kissed across her cheek and down her neck, letting your lips touch her hot skin. You trailed down her chest to where her dress was and pulled it down. You sucked at the skin on her full, bare breasts as you freed them from the fabric of the dress. You heard Wanda’s sweet moan as you took her nipple in your mouth, swirling your tongues around her hardening bud. She arched her back into you and you looked up at her. Her skin was coloured by the atmosphere of the club room, pink, blue and purple dancing around you all.
You left her nipple and pulled her dress further down, your lips following until you reached just above her cunt.
You could smell her wetness and it made you hot. You pulled her dress completely off her body and ran your hands back up her thighs.
Wanda was looking down at you with lustful eyes. Panting from the heat, she opened her thighs to you, welcoming your touch.
You traced your fingers on the inside of her thighs and brushed over her core. You trailed little kisses to her centre before your lips placed a gentle kiss on her clit. Wanda gasped at the feather light touch and lifted her hips to you. You gripped her hips before allowing your tongue to diving into her core, feeling her wetness surround your tongue with its sweetness.
Wanda moaned at finally feeling your tongue on her. Her hips made gentle thrusts to your mouth as your tongue explored her entrances and lapped over her clit in the most delicious way. Your nose was pressed against her skin, breathing in her scent as you feasted on her cunt.
Wanda cried out and your tongue made a hard flick over her clit, sending a strong wave of sharp pleasure through her body.
“Oh, June.” Wanda sighed in pleasure. Her fingers find their way into your hair and caress at your scalp.
Wanda closes her eyes as you flick your tongue over her clit more. She gasps and moans as more pleasure washes through her.
“Yes, Junie. Yes!” She cries out. Her hips start to thrust into your mouth faster as your tongue circles her nerves which are quickly growing more sensitive.
Your hands went under her thighs and pulled her to you more. Her legs were locked in your arms as your mouth devoured her pussy and pleasure poured through her.
Wanda writhes under you and cries out as she fast approaches her orgasm.
You wrap your lips around her clit and suck hard. Your tongue flicks over her clit as you suck.
Crying out loudly, her thighs tremble in your arms. Her orgasm crashed through her as she pushes your mouth to her cunt. Riding out her orgasm she pants you name out and she grinds her cunt in your mouth.
When you finally come up, she is already trying to pull you back on her. You smirk at her grabby hands and push down your dress. You take it off and then unclip your bra, throwing it at Bucky who gladly catches it and sips his drink.
He watched as you climb back onto Wanda in your beautiful naked self. He was absolutely loving watching you bring pleasure to Wanda, because he knows the amount of pleasure you can bring to someone. He was proud to see you enjoying yourself as well.
You lift one of Wanda’s legs and lower yourself on her, wrapping the leg around you and straddling her. Her hands went straight to your hips that pulled you up to her lap, making your cunt slide against hers. You moaned loudly, feeling her wetness from her arousal and come and her throbbing pussy against yours.
Bucky groaned at the sight, feeling his cock now rock hard in his pants. Vision starts to palm himself through his pants, watching you scissor his girl.
“Fuuuck.” You drew out your word as you and Wanda grind your hips together. “Fuck, Wanda you’re so good.” You moaned to her.
Wanda’s hair was sticking to her forehead as she started to pant.
“Oh, baby.” Wanda moans back. “Your pussy feels so good.”
You moaned at her words and you thrust your hips faster. Your pussy is so wet it’s sliding against Wanda’s and spreading to the inside of your thighs. You lift her leg up to your shoulder so you can fully feel her. The feel of her brings your mind into a haze as the pleasure grows in your core and up your stomach.
“Oh my god,” You pant, moving your hips faster, chasing your orgasm. “I’m gonna come.”
Wanda’s hand latched onto your tit and pinch at your nipple. “Come in my pussy, June.” Her voice was husky. “Come all over my fucking cunt, baby.”
“Oh yes!” You scream.
You could feel Bucky’s lustful watch on you, making you hot under his gaze.
Your clit rubs harshly against hers and your legs tremble at the feeling of your orgasm right there. Wanda thrusts up into your pussy, making you come.
Your voice stutters and you feel your pussy release and you come all over Wanda. Wanda moans as she comes, feeling your pussy pulse and watching you throw your head back and moan for her. You legs shaking and your chest panting. Wanda sits up and pulls your head into a kiss, helping you through your high.
Your hips slow down and they jerk when you nudge your clit with hers, sensitive.
Wanda breaks the kiss and you rest your forehead against hers, catching your breath.
“You’re so good.” She whispers to you, making you giggle.
Wanda falls back against the couch and you roll off her, laying next to Bucky who caresses your body.
“That was so fucking hot.” Bucky says into your ear.
“It felt so fucking good.” You said to him, your voice low. Your arousal was starting to grow against as Bucky looked into your eyes.
You trailed your hand up His thigh to his dick, feeling how hard it was through his pants.
Wanda has shuffled her way up to Vision, leaning against him, panting and palming him through his pants.
Bucky brings your face into his hands and pulls your face to his, capturing your lips in a deep kiss. He moved his body to fit with your legs around his hips. You could feel him through his pants against your raw pussy. He trailed his lips down down your flustered and raw body and lifted your thighs over his shoulders. He peppered kisses across your soft thighs and caressed your hips.
You closed your eyes and ran your fingers through his hair. You loved feeling him between your thighs. He was always gentle and brought You release every single time.
His tongue lapped at your folds that were still soaked in yours and Wanda’s come. He hummed into your pussy at the taste. You mixed with another woman drove him crazy.
He pushed his tongue through your folds and pressed his entire mouth to your pussy, causing you to moan loudly.
“God, Buck.” You gasped.
He was taking extra care of your sensitive clit, swirling his tongue around it. He reached up with his thumb and pulled back the hood of your clit, placing his tongue directly onto your clit and licking a harsh stripe up. It made your body jerk up all of a sudden. He did it again with a smirk on his face, causing you to whack his hand. He knew it was too much for you to lick directly on your exposed nerves.
He let go of the hood and kissed your sweet clit before gently prying at your entrance with his finger.
You leaned back and arched your back as he inserted his finger and rubbed along your top wall, looking for your g-spot.
You opened your eyes with your head thrown back to see Vision had his hand on Wanda’s pussy, rubbing in circles and Wanda had pulled him out of his pants and was stroking his cock, both of them watching you two.
You looked down to see his blue eyes looking up at you, his mouth at your clit and his fingers thrusting into your cunt at and easy pace.
“Holy shit.” You gasped and grew your head back again as he hit your g-spot.
He added another finger and his the same spot again, this time curling his fingers to rub your spot. His tongue quickened with your breath.
You felt the pleasure building quickly in your stomach before snapping. Your walls clenched as you gushed around his fingers and you fisted his hair.
You let out a drawn out moan as you gives soft kitten licks to your clit.
You panted as he placed a soft kiss to your pussy before climbing back up your body again. You looked into his eyes and smiled, pulling him down to give him a firm kiss.
“You two are so hot.” Wanda said, pulling you out of your moment and making you giggle.
It had been a relaxing few months, settling into your new house and making it your own.
Bucky was currently seated on the living room couch watching the TV with Chief, your new three legged Rottweiler dog, laying at his feet. You smiled so happily at the scene that your cheeks were hurting.
Bucky turned his head to see you standing there, smiling like an idiot at them.
“What have you done?” Bucky asked with a raised brow.
“What ever do you mean?” You started to sway your way over to him.
“I’m not sure yet but your face says that there’s something you’re not telling me.” Bucky said. You rounded the couch and perched yourself in his lap. Chief lifted his head and his tail started to wag.
“Well you’re not wrong.” You admitted.
Bucky smiled at you and smooched your cheek. “What’s up?”
Instead of answering him, you offered his your closed hand that was holding what seemed to be a stick.
Bucky frowned and took the stick from your hand. He observed it to see it was a pregnancy test, and the little screen said ‘Positive’. He whipped his head to look up at you quick with wide eyes. You smiled brightly down at him and nodded your head.
Before you could register anything, Bucky had tackled your face with kisses and you fell backwards onto the couch with a loud laugh.
“Oh my god.” Bucky said cheerfully.
Chief got excited at the movement and jumped up to see his family happily kissing and laughing on the couch. He nudged at Bucky’s arm, which circled around him and pulled him closer in for a kiss as well, shocking the dog and making you giggle.
“We are gonna have a baby.” He said with a sigh and a smile.
“We’re gonna have a baby.” You confirmed, matching his smile. Chief whined next to you and you laughed, scratching his ears.
The three of you were very thankful to be surrounded by the people who enable each other to carry on.

You know what? (I learned that from you!)
@comfortember prompt 7: blanket forts.
Summary: Peter decides to introduce his uncles Thor and Loki to the concept of blanket forts
Note: I just really love Uncle Thor and Uncle Loki, ya know? I need more Peter & Loki fics. (Again, let me know if you have any recommendations)
I suggest you read my fic I’m Just Saying If You Really Loved Me You Would Share Him before reading this one (at least the UncleNapped chapter) but it’s only briefly mentioned here so this can be a stand alone fic, as well!
Read on AO3: here
“Tony, I’m hoooooome,” Peter sang as he entered the living area of the compound, promptly making himself giggle. When there was no immediate answer, he walked through the floor, trying to find his mentor. Each room was curiously empty.
He was heading back to the living area when his phone rang, lighting up with Tony’s picture.
“Hey, Tony. Where are you?”
“Sorry, kiddo. Running a little late at a meeting with Pepper. I’ll be there in a little while, okay? There should be a surprise landing for you in about...oh...30 seconds.”
“Okay,” Peter said slowly.
“It’s good, I promise. I gotta go, I’ll see you later, okay? Bye, Pete!”
“Bye?” Peter said, but it sounded like a question. Shaking his head, Peter stood in the middle of the living room, wondering what this surprise was that was supposed to come.
He didn’t have to wait very long. A bright light filled the living room, making Peter squint. Then it vanished as quickly as it came, and standing in its place were two familiar faces.
“Peter!” Thor boomed, bounding forward to pick the boy up in a big bear hug.
“Hey Uncle Thor!” He giggled. “It’s good to see you again!”
Once on his own two feet again, he walked over to the other God, who held out a fist for him to bump.
“Hey Uncle Loki. So, what brings you two to our neck of the universe?”
“Well, there was this thing-“ Thor began, scratching his neck and shuffling his feet.
Loki rolled his eyes. “We wanted to see you again,” he interrupted.
“Really?!”
Peter’s face absolutely lit up. He hadn’t seen the two Asgardians since they had “kidnapped” him after school a few months ago. They’d spent a day exploring New York together, and he’d had so much fun. He’d missed them.
“Absolutely,” Thor said kindly, and Loki nodded.
“Well, what do you want to do, then? Tony should be here soon, so maybe we keep it a little closer to home this time and stay in the penthouse?” Peter thought for a moment. “We could play games, or watch a movie. There’s plenty of snacks and blankets-“ suddenly an idea hit him and his eyes got all big and excited. “ooooooh! Blanket fort!”
Loki blinked. “Blanket fort?”
Thor looked equally confused. Peter just grinned.
“Trust me. It’ll be fun! And when we’re done, we can watch a movie in the fort. C’mon! Let’s go get some blankets!”
Without waiting to see if the gods were following him (or to think about the fact that he’d just ordered two gods around) Peter hurried down the hall towards the closet, where he knew all the blankets were kept.
Tony had started stocking that closet ever since Peter started spending more weekends at the compound. The older hero had pretended to be annoyed that his mentee was always complaining about being cold, but soon that closet had been emptied of its previous contents (just random junk, according to Tony) and stocked with all the softest, fluffiest blankets Peter had ever seen. And a massive first aid kit, as well, also courtesy of Peter’s spending more time there.
Once Thor and Loki had made their way to the closet, Peter piled on the blankets and pillows, grabbing a pile himself before heading to the living area and dumping them unceremoniously onto the floor. The other two followed suit, Thor looking amused and excited, and Loki wearing an expression of mild interest.
“So you’ve never heard of a blanket fort before?” Peter asked, mentally taking stock of the room and the best vantage points for hanging and draping the fort walls and ceiling.
“No. We have no such tradition in Asgard. How, exactly, is a blanket a suitable material for a fort? It would offer no protection whatsoever,” Loki asked.
“Well, it’s not for protection,” Peter laughed. “It’s for fun.”
Loki nodded, thoughtfully.
“I like fun,” Thor offered.
“Perfect. Now let’s get started. I need the couch moved over there, and we also need a chair. This fort is gonna be epic!”
The next hour or so, Peter taught the others how to build a blanket fort. He showed them the way Ben had always tied up the top of the fort, explained that said top had to be the lightest blanket, and waxed poetic about the uses of duct tape. The gods listened with rapt attention, and Peter smiled to himself, feeling important as he directed them. He may have even showed off a little by handing from the ceiling when setting up the top of the blanket fort.
Soon, the living room was transformed into a fuzzy kaleidoscope of colors, complete with a floor of equally eclectic pillows. Peter flopped down onto the pile, grinning happily at the ceiling.
“I have to admit that was rather...fun,” Loki said, quietly.
“I thought you might like it!” Peter smiled at the trickster.
“I’m glad you enjoyed yourself, brother,” Thor said. “Now, we need some food and drink for the movie.”
“Ooooh. Tony keeps a big box of pop tarts in the pantry. And a giant container of hot chocolate mix.”
“Sounds delightful. I’m rather good at hot cocoa,” Loki said. “I can make the drinks.”
“Alright. I’ll grab the pop tarts.” Thor stood and they both headed toward the kitchen.
“I guess I’ll pick the movie,” Peter said to himself. He grabbed the remote and started browsing Tony’s extensive collection. “What about the newest Star Wars?” He called.
“Not sure about Point Break and Reindeer Games, but I’d say you’ve seen that one about 19 times.”
Peter spun around at the new voice. “Tony! You’re back!” He said happily.
“Yeah, I am. Now, why does my living room look like a blanket rainbow just threw up?” Just then, Loki walked in carrying three mugs of steaming hot chocolate. “And why is the god of mischief making cocoa?”
“I was advised that alcoholic drinks were unsuitable for young midgardians, and I make a very nice cocoa. I can change it to something stronger if you like,” Loki said, placing the mugs down on the table inside the fort.
“NO!” Tony nearly shouted. “Cocoa is fine. I’m just very curious about how all this happened.” He gestured towards the colorful masterpiece.
“It was my idea! They’d never made one before,” Peter explained. “And watching a movie is 1000 times more fun inside a blanket fort. Everyone knows that.”
“You’re right,” he said. “And you know what?”
“What?” Peter asked, tipping his head sideways.
“I learned that from you. I never did blanket forts until I met you, either, and they are definitely a must for movie nights.” Peter beamed. “You got enough cocoa for me, Loki?”
Loki snapped his fingers and a fourth cup appeared on the table. Tony eyed it skeptically.
“It’s not poisoned,” Loki rolled his eyes. “I’ll have that one, if you prefer. You can have one of the ones I made earlier.”
Tony grabbed a cup, and Thor walked in with about 20 pop tarts piled onto a plate.
“Wow, uncle Thor. You like pop tarts?” Peter asked, grinning.
Tony groaned. “Kid, you aren’t the only reason I keep, like, 30 Costco-sizes boxes of Strawberry Pop Tarts. Once, we ran out, and Point Break here accidentally fried the electricity, he was so upset!”
“I did apologize,” Thor pouted.
“Yeah, yeah. No harm done, Thor.” Tony patted his arm, and Thor’s smile returned easily.
Peter chuckled lightly to himself, grateful for his crazy, silly family, and pressed play. As words started lighting up the screen, proclaiming news from a galaxy far, far away, Peter found himself stretched out with his head in Tony’s lap and his feet in Thor's. Tony was playing with Peter’s hair and making the boy slowly fall asleep. It was so relaxing, and he was surprised when he felt a set of new hands scratch his scalp. It felt amazing. Loki (Peter swore the asgardian could read his mind) smiled at him knowingly, and the hands returned so there were two sets playing with his curls.
Really, there was no way he could stay awake now.
“Loki, I was here first. You have to wait your turn,” Peter heard Tony say, and felt one of the hands pushed away.
“You can share, tin can. Peter likes it, don’t you, spider?”
Peter smiled. “M’sleeping,” he mumbled, and the others quieted as their hands continued running through his hair. Peter fell asleep with a smile on his face.

-Proxy-
Chapter One | Chapter Two
Read here on AO3.
@starkerinthepark three words babe: fucking by proxy.
Warnings: adult!Peter, sex, sex workers, natasha/peter, peter omc (but don’t worry, starker is endgame always).
-
“Mr. Stark?” Peter asks.
It pulls Tony from his work, head coming up to blink owlishly at the kid. Peter sits at a table across the room, textbooks from his classes at NYU spread out along the table littered with pencils and papers, though it has all been pushed aside so the kid can plant his elbow on the table and lean on it, staring off into space (the space that just happens to be in Tony’s general direction). “What is it, Pete?”
“When did you have your first kiss?”
Tony thinks, stretching his mind back. “I was twelve. So, ’82, ’83.”
“Twelve?”
“What?”
“Well, isn’t that a little young?”
Tony smiles wryly. “I did everything a little young. You could say I was quite—ah—advanced for my age. Why?”
“I still haven’t had mine.”
Tony shrugs. He hunches back over and pick up the soldering pen, nudging the blazing tip at the copper wires. His hands are shaking, something about the kid’s admission. He’s nineteen years old, and still no first kiss? Tony’s no judge of normality, but it does seem a little delayed. Still, he’s not one to shame someone else for their sexual activities (or lack thereof). “Everyone moves at their own pace, kid. I don’t know what to tell you.”
“I feel like I’m missing out,” Peter admits. He picks up a pencil and twirls it between his long fingers—why is Tony watching the kid’s hands when he’s holding a goddamn soldering iron? God, Tony’s distractible mind is going to get him burned. Literally. Worse: figuratively. “Everyone at university talks about their hook-ups and stuff. It sounds like…”
“Like?” Tony prods. Just like how he prods the wires.
“Like I’m missing out.”
“On sex.”
Peter’s face flushes—look down, Tony, Christ. “I mean—yeah? But I’m so far away from that. Like, so, so far. I mean, I did kiss a girl once, but it was like—” Peter puckers his lips, squeezing his eyes shut tightly. Tony is obliged to look, he contents himself with that knowledge. Freckles dust the kid’s nose, and he looks so painfully childish. It’s endearing, even if it makes some part of his stomach churn, like he’s swallowed one too many cocktails made of one-part perversion and two parts disgust. Shaken, not stirred.
“Find a girl—”
“Or guy,” Peter chimes, helpfully.
“Or a guy—or a non-binary babe, and french them. That’s all it takes.”
“Believe it or not, not many people are jumping at the chance to like, make out with me, Mr. Stark,” Peter mutters. He twirls the pencil too much and it slips from between his fingers and skids off the table. Smooth.
Tony sits down the soldering pen. He studies the kid—hard. Peter has clear skin for a boy still clinging to his teen years. His eyes are gold like a glass of whiskey left to sit in the sunshine, the brows flat and a little unruly. He’s got curls which are adorable. All in all, a very sincere and baby-faced young man. Tony can see why the girls and boys at university might not look at the kid and want to jump into bed with him. The priorities of young people these days are different.
Jesus, Tony sounds like an old man. He feels like an even older (dirtier) old man when he thinks about how those things don’t change Peter’s attractiveness to him at all. The face might be babyish, but the jawline is cut. He knows from sparring in the gym and passing each other in the Avengers’ locker room that the kid has an eight-pack that most people his age would kill for. Beyond all that, he knows Peter, knows the kid’s heart, the generosity, the warmth, the bravery.
“Most people are stupid,” Tony says much too honestly. “Anyone would be lucky to be with you, Pete.”
Peter’s face lights up. Tony scrambles for the soldering pen. He needs all the excuses he can get to avoid looking at that handsome, joyful face. Peter asks: “Do you mean that? I mean, do you really think so?”
Tony makes a noise that he hopes conveys everything reasonable and acceptable that the kid wants to hear.
“I just think if I had some practice, I don’t know, maybe I could reel someone in.”
“If I look up and you’re really pretending to reel in a fishing rod, I’m going to throw you out of my lab,” Tony mutters, squinting at the wires. When he glances up, it’s just in time to see Peter lowering his hands demurely to his lap, eyes far too wide for him to have been doing anything but pretending so. Tony shakes his head, snorting. “You’ve found the paradox. To attract somebody, you need practice. To practice, you need somebody. The absolute woes—Thank God I’m not nineteen anymore.”
“You’re Tony Stark,” Peter says, and Tony can hear him rolling his eyes just from the tone of his voice. “I doubt you had any of these troubles when you were nineteen. Or, like, ever.”
Tony’s lips fight not to smile. “You might be right. Okay, so, attraction. Practice. Let’s brainstorm some solutions—”
“Do you think Steve would kiss me?”
Okay—Tony burns himself. The wound cauterizes instantly at least, which is nice, but it stings like a son of a bitch. Tucking the throbbing thumb into his mouth, he shuts down the soldering pen because obviously he can’t be trusted around both Peter and dangerous machinery. The words Peter spoke bang around in his head like a quarter in a washing machine.
“Steve who?” Tony asks.
Peter presses his thin lips together. He drops his eyes to the pencil he’d retrieved from the floor, twirling it anxiously between his fingers. “You know. Steve—um—Cap-Captain America?”
“You want to make out with Captain America.”
“Or Thor. I could do Thor—kiss Thor! Oh my god. I could kiss Thor.”
“Am I in a fever dream?” Tony asks. He makes a show of pinching himself. “FRIDAY, am I have a stroke?”
“Not that I can detect, boss,” his girl says, unhelpfully.
“Well find me a stroke, FRI, so that I can have it. ASAP.”
“Mr. Stark,” Peter groans, dropping his face into his hands. “Stop. You’re making fun of me.”
“Making—? I’m not making fun of you. This is me being traumatized at the thought of Steve doing anything more PG than holding hands.”
“I just—I thought maybe a more experienced person—friend, I mean. I thought maybe they’d be willing to help me out. You know. Take one for the team.” The kid looks so miserable that Tony feels his heart squeeze. With that look on his face, Peter could ask anything of him, and Tony would bend over backwards, alter timelines, break his own moral code to give it to him.
But Peter didn’t ask him.
“Kid. Peter—I’m sorry. You’re right. It’s a good idea, I think. But Steve probably doesn’t have as much experience as you’d like, and Thor is on Asgard. We’re only supposed to summon him under threat of galactic peril.”
The intensity of Peter’s stare makes Tony feel like there’s a joke he’s missing out on. It isn’t a feeling he’s privy too, often, and thank God he’s not, because it makes his skin prickle uncomfortably. “Well then what are my other options, Mr. Stark?” Peter asks, eyes wide and guileless.
Tony swallows. “Let me—give me ten minutes.”
-
“I don’t know whether to be offended or honored,” Natasha says, lounging on Tony’s sofa. She’s dressed in casual clothes, a t-shirt maybe best for sparring, yoga pants and fuzzy socks, because she always has cold feet. Always. She looks beautiful, stunning, sensual in the lazy way she lays against the dark leather, but Tony knows that’s just instinct to her. It’s not for his benefit.
Peter stands behind Tony, one hand tangled into his curls and tugging on them anxiously.
“Can I make a suggestion?” Tony says. “Because I’d say honored—I mean—”
“Stop talking, Tony,” she says, lips twitching.
“I would,” says Tony. “But I really do want to explain my choice to Peter.”
Natasha waves a hand magnanimously, even as her eyebrows raise, the picture of honed skepticism.
“Pete, we’ve got a handful of Avengers on the continent, so Natasha immediately gets a point for proximity. She’s—and I swear to God, under threat of torture I will deny having said this—but she’s got the biggest heart of all of us. Even if she says no, I knew she wouldn’t laugh you out of house and home, and she wouldn’t spread it around for gossip’s sake. Also, I have it on good authority that Natasha has never been bad at anything in her life, so more than likely, she’s going to suck your brain out from between your teeth.”
“If she says yes,” Peter says.
After which, they both turn toward her. She looks surprisingly moved (let it be known that Tony can give quite the stirring speech when moved to). Behind her pale eyes, Tony can see the cogs of her brain churning, always churning. Her glance flickers between them several times, and her lips are curving, curving, and Tony has a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach—
“You’ve overlooked one thing,” Natasha says.
“What’s that?”
She flicks a finger at Tony. “You have the Avenger most skilled orally right there. Why isn’t Tony helping you?”
It’s—yeah. It’s worse than Tony imagined it could be. Not that it isn’t a question he hasn’t asked himself twenty times during the brief call he made asking her to meet them up in his penthouse. Behind him, Peter makes a noise that Tony can’t translate from teenager to English. It sounds a little horrified which shouldn’t offend Tony as much as it does. Then again, Tony feels a lot of things for Peter that he shouldn’t these days.
“Because he didn’t ask me,” Tony says. Let the room make of that what it will. Everyone holds their breath, a stare-down of epic proportions taking place, a duel with no guns, they’ve met at high noon outside the saloon doors and all Tony wants to do is hop on his horse and ride off into the painted sunset. But he can’t. Because Peter asked for his help, and he can’t tell the kid no.
“Alright,” Natasha says at length. She shifts to the farthest couch cushion and pats the space next to her. “Come here, Peter.”
Peter looks far younger than his age of nineteen when he crosses the room, one shoe untied, wearing a graphic tee and skinny jeans, face redder than Tony’s suit. He’s wringing his hands even as he sits down on the couch cushion, deciding that he’s too far away and scooting closer only to second guess himself and scoot back again. The space between them is probably enough for Tony to sit—and okay, not a mental image he needs.
“Lesson one,” Natasha says seriously. “Good oral hygiene.”
“I—I figured the first lesson would be something like, don’t be nervous.”
She stares at him flatly. “You’re always going to be nervous. That lessens with 1. practice. 2. security with your partner. And 3. good oral hygiene. Does my breath stink? Can they taste what I had for lunch? Those are the last thoughts you want to be thinking when you’re trying to kiss someone. Brush regularly, and if you can, always carry gum.”
“I don’t have any gum,” Peter admits.
Natasha smiles, soft and indulging. “I do, don’t worry.”
She and Peter each takes a stick of peppermint gum, and when Natasha holds the pack out to him too, eyes glittering (“What,” she says. “It’d be rude not to offer you some as well.”) Tony realizes that it’s a little preposterous: his presence here. They don’t need him. Peter might even be more nervous with Tony watching, if the looks the kid keeps shooting him are any indication. Tony should leave. He should definitely leave.
He sits in the armchair, tucking the gum wrapper into the back pocket of his jeans.
While they chew, they make awkward small talk. Peter dodges any questions about who he might be trying to learn kissing techniques for, Tony dodges any question that make might him reveal his proclivity for the young man on the sofa, and Natasha looks like she knows everything, lips tilted upwards into a perpetual smirk. At last they all spit out their gum (not Tony, because Tony isn’t going to be kissing anyone, certainly not kissing Peter, thanks).
“Breath nice and fresh, now. Guaranteed. See how that’s one thing off your mind, now?”
Peter does look more noticeably upbeat. “Yes, you’re right. Thanks, Ms. Romanov.”
“You can call me Natasha, Peter. We’re going to get rather close. Now come here—” She urges Peter closer until their thighs are pressed together, and then their knees when she encourages him to turn towards her. “Lesson two, where to put your hands.”
She takes his hand—Peter has very nice hands, thin, fine boned, dexterous, so soft looking—and turning his hand to be palm up, cups her jaw with it. Peter’s fingers disappear back into her hair, and his thumb rests along the smooth skin of her cheek. Peter is holding his breath. Tony can tell, because Tony can’t take his eyes off of him.
“This is a good place to start with. It’s nice to touch your partner when kissing them, because it makes you feel more present, it makes the moment more intimate. There are—other—places you could touch them, but this one is nice and sweet and unlikely to offend someone if you’re still feeling each other out. Okay?”
Peter nods, head bobbing furiously. Tony might be holding his breath too. Who knows. Not him.
“Lesson three: caution and adaptation. You can’t hurt anything by starting off slow. You can always turn up the heat, but it isn’t as easy to dial it down, especially if you come on so strong that you turn your partner off. Listen to their cues—most people will unconsciously try to tell you want they want.
“Are you ready for the practical?”
“I—” Peter swallows. He glances at Tony, who can do nothing but shrug. “Yeah. Let’s—do it.”
Natasha matches Peter’s hold on her, reaching out to dip the tips of her fingers into those curls, to run her fingers along the strong line of his jaw and Tony finally feels it: the sourness in his stomach of jealousy, the aching desperation to be in her place. He wraps up all those emotions and tucks them into a trunk in the back of his mind, closes the trunk, and loses the key. Hopefully.
Slowly but firmly, Natasha draws them together. She kisses Peter. Their heads slant naturally to the right, and the first press is soft and chaste. They part just a hairsbreadth and then kiss again, this time their mouths just barely parted. Tony catches a flash of pink tongue (almost assuredly Natasha’s), and then Peter makes a noise from the back of his throat: a tender little whine that makes Tony swallow.
He can’t help but glance down and—oh. The kid is hard. There’s no hiding the bulge in his skinny jeans. To be honest, Tony can hardly blame him: he’s feeling a little tingly down south himself, mostly after that sweet sound the young man made. It backs up theoretical data Tony has already been compiling (from when the kid groans when he eats something particularly tasty at the Avengers’ communal dinner table to when he whines when Ned beats him at a video game on the console Tony had made for them). What Tony is compiling that data for is—confidential.
Now that he’s noticed the kid’s erection, his eyes can’t help but bounce between it and the sensuality of Peter’s kiss with Natasha. Tongue is obviously involved now: their mouths are open, cheeks hollow, and Natasha reaches up to coax Peter’s hand back towards her hair where he tangles his fingers in it, pulling her closer until she has to kneel up to avoid falling right on the kid’s lap.
She parts long enough to say, “Don’t forget to breath.”
The kid is panting, nodding furiously, already pressing back to her mouth. This time Tony catches a hint of his tongue and has to look pointedly above their heads for several long moments to collect himself. It almost doesn’t work, not with the soft sensual wet sounds that come from their mouths. How the fuck did Tony get himself in this situation, practically pimping out the young man who he is far too emotionally and physically and spiritually and intellectually (and all the other lly’s) interested in?
His life is ridiculous.
He looks back at them.
He can’t stop watching.
Natasha takes the kid lower lip onto her mouth and sucks on it. Peter’s eyelashes flutter, chest hitching. The bulge at the crotch of his jeans twitches. But ever the good student, he then tries the same move on her, taking that full lower lip into his mouth and suckling, then his lips draw back just a little and Tony sees teeth—he is biting her lip, and Natasha’s mouth curves just a little into a smile. When they pull apart, their mouths are wet and red. Peter is panting, and Natasha’s hair is mussed.
Tony is barely managing to keep from being hard.
“How was that, Pete?” Nat asks.
“I guess I should be asking you,” Peter says, sound more than a little breathless. “Did I do okay? Any tips, pointers, criticism? Compliments?”
Natasha laughs. Tony thinks it might be an honest-to-God laugh, one that bubbles up from somewhere inside her chest. He can’t help but smile at the sound of it, at the way it makes Peter duck his head, press one palm to his mouth to disguise his smile. Natasha reaches out and pulls his head to her bosom, giving Tony a look over his head that says, how fucking precious is he?
Tony rolls his eyes.
Pretty fucking precious.

“Alright. We got the wall of roses all set up, the cake is still being iced, and the giant bunny I ordered should be arriving this afternoon.” Tony rattled off as he waltzed through his living room. Workers were scattered across the room, setting up various party decorations. Every inch of Tony’s grand estate was or would be covered with blue streamers, Teddy’s bears, or baby blue flowers.
“Please tell me you didn’t buy another giant bunny.” Pepper groaned as her heels clicked against the cool marble floor.
“If my grandson wants a giant bunny, I’m getting him a giant bunny. Just because you didn’t like yours doesn’t mean Benjamin won’t like his.” Tony pouted. The giant bunny was still a sore topic for the couple.
“You don’t know what he wants.” Pepper reasoned. “He’s not even one.”
“But he will be. That’s what this party is for. And I have to above and beyond for my only grandson. So a giant bunny he shall receive.” Tony insisted.
“What’s this about a giant bunny?” You asked as you entered the room. You kissed both your parents on the cheek and took a look around the room. Even unfinished, the room looked incredible. Tony sure knew how to throw a party.
“Dad, this looks amazing! You did all this for Benji?” You asked as a man carrying a gigantic 7 tier cake walked past you.
“Y/n, Benji is my first and only grandson. There is nothing I wouldn’t spend, give up, do, or build for him.” Tony declared.
“Build?” You asked, ignoring the other sentimental parts of your father’s statement. “Tell me you didn’t build my one year old son an iron suit.”
“Please, Y/n. Don’t be ridiculous.” Tony pretended to be offended.
“Okay, good.” You warned.
“I’m saving Mark B for his fourth birthday.” Tony said quickly and under his breath.
“This looks great, dad.” You repeated, still in awe at his far your father was willing to go for his family. “I have to run. Benji’s bed time is soon. I’ll see you guys tomorrow.” You hugged your parents goodbye and drove home.
“What’s all this?” You asked with a skeptical smile as you set your bag down. You saw your husband balancing Benji on his hip as he mumbled some baby talk in his little ear. You approached Peter as you walked through a curtain of streamers. There was a makeshift “happy birthday” sign hanging up above the doorway, as well as a few other drawings tapped to the walls with webs. It had no doubtably been colored in by Benji, with a little help from Peter. Peter gave you a gentle kiss on the lips before you took Benji in your arms.
“I know your dad is throwing Benji the most extravagant birthday party a one year old could ask for, but I thought we could have our own little family party tonight. Just the three of us.” Peter said softly while brushing some of Benjis curls off his forehead. You smiled fondly at your husband.
“I love that idea, Pete.” You said sincerely. “Thank you.”
“It’s no trouble.” Peter assured you. “Benji and I baked these cupcakes, with zero help from Benji. And then we frosted them, also with no help from Benji.” Peter sighed. “I just don’t think baking is in our sons future.”
“I’m so sorry. I know you had high hopes for his baking career.” You teased.
“I’ll get over it. I guess he’ll have to be a genius scientist like his mom.” Peter said with sarcastic disappointment.
“Or a superhero like his daddy.” You beamed as you rubbed Peters shoulder.
“We can only hope.” Peter gave you a warm smile and kissed your temple. “Shall we light the candle?”
You nodded and stepped closer to Peter. He wrapped his arm around your waist with one arm and picked up the lighter with the other. He lit the singular candle on the cupcake, a chunky white number one with a red border. The soft glow of the candle dimly lit up your faces. Benji’s eyes lit up at the sight of fire for the first time. The warm glow cast shadows on his small features, illuminating his gentle face.
You and Peter softly sang the words to “happy birthday” to your son. He was too entranced by the light of the candle to listen. It was yours and Peters first time ever singing it to him. The first time he’d ever heard it. It was a moment Benji would never remember, but one you and Peter would never forget. Benji reached for the light but you protectively held him back.
“Happy Birthday, dear Benji.” You and Peter sang. “Happy Birthday to you.”
“Make a wish, sweet boy.” You said as you bounced Benji slightly.
“Let’s make it for him.” Peter suggested. You nodded and leaned closer to the flame.
“I wish for our little family to stay like this, always.” Peter said. “What’d you wish for?”
“I can’t tell you or it won’t come true.” You shook your head at Peter for not knowing the basic rules of wishes. He laughed at your disapproval.
“My bad.“ he smiled.
You and Peter leaned in and blew out the candle. Benji laughed happily and clapped his hands. He reached out and grabbed for the smoke.
“We better get to bed. Benji has a big day tomorrow.” Peter suggested. You yawned suddenly, not realizing how tired you were until then.
“Okay. Goodnight, Birthday boy.” You kissed both your sons cheeks. “And goodnight, non birthday boy.” You kissed both of Peters cheeks.
The party went as planned. It was even bigger than you expected. Tony’s house looked like the baby shower section of a Party City. All of the Avengers were there, dressed in their finest attire. To kick the part off, Thor created a light show in the sky with lightning. Tony had spliced together every picture and video of Benji in existence and created a momentous montage of his life. You and Peter mingled with the other guests, but always managed to stay close by each other.
After cake and a few drinks, you and Peter helped Benji open all his presents, most of them being from Tony. Once you had finished and your fingers were sore from all the wrapping paper you had to rip, Benji seemed to own every baby product, onesie, and toy in the world. You and Peter were grateful for all the gifts and thanked everyone while internally wondering how you’d ever fit it all in your apartment.
“Well, that’s a wrap on presents. Coffee, anyone?” Tony rubbed his knee and looked around for takers.
“Not so fast.” You spoke up, bringing the attention back to you. “There’s one more present.”
Tony looked at you confused. All the presents had been opened. You were all sitting in a sea of torn wrapping paper to prove it.
“I’m pretty sure we opened everything, pumpkin. There’s nothing more we could possible give to Benji. If there was, I’d find it and buy him the company that manufactures it.”
You laughed at your father and turned to Peter.
“It’s not a present for Benji.” Peter cut in. “We got you a present to say thank you.”
“Really?” Tony asked. A proud gleam was in his dark eyes. He was glad to see his daughter was a giver, no matter the occasion. “You didn’t have to do that. This party was nothing. I barely spent a million dollars. Wait till he turns 16.”
“Well we appreciate it nonetheless, so we got together to make you something special.” Peter nudged you with his elbow just enough that no one could see. You nudged him back.
“Something special?” Tony quipped, suddenly more intrigued than proud. “What is it? Whatever it is, don’t hand it to me. I don’t like things being handed to me.”
“I know, dad. Don’t worry, no ones going to hand anything to you.” You assured your father. “But because it’s so special, the present won’t be here for another nine months.”
“Honey, I told you you could use my Amazon Prime account so you don’t have to wait that long for packages. Just log into OH MY GOD ARE YOU PREGNANT?” Tony suddenly put the pieces together. You put a hand over your stomach and nodded as a wide grin spread across your face. Tears came to Tony’s eyes.
“We are. Well, she is.” Peter confirmed. “And its a girl this time. Y/n is actually three months along but we needed to say “nine months” for the joke.”
“I told you not to explain the joke.” You whispered to Peter harshly.
“I physically had to.” Peter said out of the corner of his mouth.
“My little girl is having a little girl.” Tony beamed as he took your hands. You smiled at your dad and wiped a tear away from his cheek with your thumb. “Does your mother know?”
“She took the pregnancy test when she was on FaceTime with me.” Pepper, who was seated next to Tony, chimed in. It had been difficult to keep the news hidden from her husband for so long, but the look at his face made it all worth it.
“You knew about this and you didn’t tell me, Pepper?” Tony looked over his shoulder.
“What? It was nice to know more than you for once.” Pepper said smugly.
“If your baby girl is anything like your mother, teenage years are going to be rough.” Tony said as he turned back to you. You and Peter laughed. “You’re gonna have a little mini Pepper around.” Tony gushed.
“You can name her Salt.” Sam shouted from somewhere in the back. Peter shot him a look.
“We’re not naming our daughter salt.” Peter declared. Sam shrugged and took a sip of his beer.
“It sounds like a good name to me.” Rhodey added.
This resulted in a discussion among the crowd about the baby’s name. After a surplus of congratulations from everyone, you and Peter found yourselves alone in a corner with Benji.
“I can’t believe we’re gonna do this all over again.” You said in disbelief. Now that everyone knew, it was finally sinking in that you and Peter were going to have another baby. “I guess our little family isn’t so little anymore. Is that okay with you?” You thought back to the night before when Peter wished your family would always stay the way it was.
“Are you kidding?” Peter laughed. He shook his head at you. “It’s not the size that I love. It’s the fact that it’s ours.”
“It is ours.” You smiled proudly at your son. You loved your little family. Peter was like a beautiful melody and Benji was his perfect reprise.
“Hey, you never told me what you wished for last night.” Peter reminded. You chuckled to yourself.
“I wished for happy days, like this, forever.”

INTERESTING POINTS TO PONDER FROM INTERVIEWS 7
Interviews might not remain forever available or not be easy to find so I’ve decided to link them and transcribe the points I find of some interest so as to preserve them should the interview had to end up removed.
It’s not complete transcriptions, just the bits I think can be relevant but I wholeheartedly recommend reading the whole thing.
And of course I also comment all this because God forbid I’ll keep silent… :P
Title: EXCLUSIVE: Screenwriter Don Payne Talks Thor!
Author: Elisabeth Rappe
Published: Feb 23, 2011
BEST BITS FROM THE INTERVIEW
ABOUT THE SCRIPT FOR “THOR”
Thor has seen a lot of screenwriters come and go, and I imagine that led to some very drastic changes to the character and story. Can you talk at all about that process, and what changes were made over the course of project? (For example, I know rumors swirled very early that the Thor movie would be an origin story with his alter ego, Dr. Donald Blake!) How did the script come together? At what point in the process did you come on board, and what was your contribution?
Don Payne: First off, for the record, the final, official WGA writing credits for the film are “Story by J. Michael Straczynski and Mark Protosevich, Screenplay by Ashley Edward Miller & Zack Stentz and Don Payne.” Any other writing credits you might have seen elsewhere are either outdated or incorrect.
As far as how the script came together, J. Michael Straczynski and Mark Protosevich worked on the project before Kenneth Branagh came on board to direct. At that point, Ken and Marvel sat down and decided exactly what kind of story they wanted to tell. They took everything that had been written so far and figured out a game plan. Marvel then hired Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz, and, as I understand it, those guys worked pretty intensely on the screenplay over the course of four or five months. After they left the project, Marvel hired me, and I stayed on all the way through the end — about a year and a half total. For the first eight months, I continued to develop, rewrite, and restructure the screenplay, bringing in new characters and new scenes. I worked closely with Ken and Marvel throughout the process, and, as the cast came together, I worked with Ken and the actors during rehearsals here and in London.
Then, once production started in January 2010, I was on set writing every day, both at the studio in Manhattan Beach and on location in New Mexico, and continued to work through post-production.
I’d like to say more about how the script has evolved since the very beginning of the development process, but I don’t want to spoil anything. I hate spoilers. (Mostly because I’m weak, and I can’t resist them myself!) But I’ll be happy to talk about it all after the film comes out. What I can say is that this really has been the greatest writing experience of my life. I’ve never worked harder or been as closely involved day-to-day on a project as I have on Thor.
And as far as Thor’s alter-ego goes, as Kevin Feige has said, people looking for a Donald Blake reference might just find one.
ABOUT THOR’S JOURNEY AND FAMILY
I know you’ve worked with iconic superheroes before, was Thor more or less daunting to deal with? He’s a real anachronistic, medieval character. How do you bring that into the modern world? Is it ultimately the same as trying to make any superhero realistic and relatable?
Don Payne: Well, I think the challenges are pretty apparent. As you say, Thor’s a unique character, and it’s an unusual story we’re telling. When you’ve got something like Captain America, the premise is easier to get right away — he’s a superhero fighting Nazis in World War II. Whereas we’ve got an extra-dimensional being once worshipped as a god by the ancient Norse who’s banished to earth and stripped of his powers to learn humility, all set amidst the Shakespearean intrigue of a dysfunctional royal family. It’s not as simple to grasp.
You just have to find the things that make Thor timeless and relatable as a character. It certainly helps that he’s charismatic and likeable, albeit flawed. He’s banished for good reason, but I think people will want to go on the journey with him and root for him to find redemption — particularly with Chris Hemsworth’s performance.
I think what really makes Thor relatable are the family relationships. There’s a lot of dysfunction in the House of Odin. Thor’s got a hard-ass father and a jealous brother. But for all of Thor’s hardheaded rebelliousness, he, like Loki, is really just trying to live up to his father’s expectations and make him proud. I think people can relate to that father and son dynamic.
ABOUT SIF, THE WARRIORS THREE AND HEIMDALL
What can you tell me about the parts popular Asgardians such as Heimdall, the Warriors Three, and Sif play in the overall plot? Will we see more of them in other Marvel movies? Is there potential for a Sif spinoff, as she has enjoyed in the comics?
Don Payne: The Warriors Three and Sif are very much like they are in the comics. They’re fierce warriors who are fiercely dedicated to their friend Thor. They’ll follow him anywhere — which might not always be the wisest thing. Also, as in the comics, Heimdall is bound by duty and honor to guard his post on the Rainbow Bridge, and he’s got serious issues with anyone who tries to cross it who would endanger Asgard.
As far as seeing these characters in other movies or their own spin-off films, I think Marvel already has a full slate of projects in development, so I imagine we’ll only see them as part of the Thor franchise. But you never know. I’d ask Kevin Feige if I were you!
ON THE HUMOUR OF THE MOVIE
One element that jumped out at me in the trailer was the comedy – it felt very light and natural, not corny. (Jane reacting to Thor’s name, for example, or the coffee cup scene.) How did you strike the balance between the comedy and drama of the piece? Were there moments where you thought “Ok, this goes too far with the fish-out-of-water joke”?
Don Payne: Well, my hope is we’ve included just enough humor in the script, but no more than that. This isn’t a comedy, and that’s not what I was hired to do. It’s an action film, and, as in all action films, you need those fun moments. But you have to do it sparingly. You don’t want things to get silly.
One thing we all agreed about early on was to make sure we were careful about how we approached the fish-out-of-water moments. We didn’t want Thor to come to earth and suddenly become an idiot for comic relief. Even without his powers, he’s the same person on earth as he was in Asgard — a smart, headstrong warrior. He’s a being from an advanced race who’s used to travelling to other worlds and thinking on his feet. We didn’t want him looking at a television set and going, “What is yon magic box, with phantoms that move and speak inside it?”
Still, he’s on unfamiliar turf, and there’s some fun in that. You just have to find the right balance. You also want to have fun moments and dialogue during the action sequences, so you put those into the script. Of course, those bits are the easiest to cut in editing if you find the jokes are too much or too distracting. You can pick and choose.
ON JANE AND DARCY
I particularly liked how Jane and Darcy react to Thor’s arrival. They aren’t immediately throwing themselves at him. They think he’s hot, but likely to be crazy. I know you’re a staunch feminist, so I imagine their portrayal was important to you. Can you talk about how you approached them? It seems rare to have two girls in a single Marvel film, possibly competing for Thor’s attention. How did that play into the romance, and how did you approach the relationship between Thor and Jane? Did Natalie Portman and Kat Dennings have any input into their characters?
Don Payne: Kat did an amazing job taking the words on the page as written and making them fly. She really embodied the character of Darcy.
After the second trailer came out, I read some people mistakenly speculate that her character was created as a marketing decision to appeal to the youth audience or some such thing — as if the producers sat down and said, “Hmm… this script is good, but we need a character to appeal to the tweens! With current pop cultural references!” I promise you, that wasn’t the case at all. I came up with Darcy because we needed someone to work with Jane Foster, and the character had to have a vastly different background, personality, and world-view from Jane in order to make that relationship interesting. I decided to make her a woman, frankly, because other than Sif and Frigga, we had a very male-heavy cast of characters. I thought it might also be interesting to have someone working for Jane who both frustrated her and who Jane saw as protégé whose potential she could help fully realize.
But I also wanted Darcy to be the voice of the common man. We’ve got Asgardians and astrophysicists, so I wanted someone to say what the average moviegoer might be thinking. If someone in the audience is thinking, “What the hell is that weird, glowing thing?!” Darcy should be asking “What the hell is that weird, glowing thing?!” (That line isn’t actually in the movie, but you get the idea…)
Natalie actually helped out tremendously with the character of Jane Foster. Let’s be honest, Jane Foster in the comics has traditionally been one of the most boring characters in the Marvel Universe. In the film, she’s an astrophysicist, so that makes her more interesting right off the bat. And it doesn’t hurt that she’s played by Natalie, who brings loads of personality and charm to any character she portrays.
Originally in the script, however, Jane was more of a traditional scientist — a hardcore skeptic. But Natalie came to the first rehearsal with the idea of turning that on its end. She suggested making Jane the believer. She thought Jane could be more of a kind of “scientist as poet” — someone who thinks outside of the box, someone whose theories are considered outlandish and are frowned upon by the scientific community. But it’s the kind of thinking that leads to great discoveries. When Thor arrives, she’s willing to take a leap of faith — and she has to pay the consequences for it. Natalie’s input made the character more interesting, improved her relationship with Thor, and, in general, made the story better. And she helped make sure Jane Foster isn’t boring. So I’m grateful to her for that.
During my story meetings with Ken and Marvel, we put a lot of work into the Thor/Jane relationship, and there was much discussion about exactly how and how quickly things should progress between them. I think we succeeded in developing their romance realistically, so it doesn’t feel forced.
ABOUT HEIMDALL AND THE MCU TAKE
There has also been a lot of ugly and foolish controversy about Idris Elba being cast as Heimdall. I don’t like to justify bigotry with attention, but has the reaction surprised you and the rest of the team?
Don Payne: You’d think as a society we’d be beyond this now. The funny thing is, this film was never meant to be a straight representation of traditional Norse mythology. It’s the cinematic take on the Marvel comics take on Norse mythology. In fact, in the reality of our movie, the Norse myths are actually based on our version of the Asgardians, after they visited ancient Norway. The Norse just got some things wrong, based on their primitive understanding of their encounters. (Like, for example, worshiping the Asgardians as gods.)
The bottom line is Idris is great in the movie. I think almost all of the people who are skeptical or have issues with the casting will be convinced when they see the movie — except for all the actual racists out there. But who needs them?
MY TWO CENTS
This interview is so goddamn awesome because it’s so informative. Don Payne talked about a lot of topics and didn’t give just two lines answers but well rounded explanations. There’s so much more than the bits I’ve selected but I couldn’t really copypaste it all, though I wholeheartedly recommend you to read it.
I’d kill to get a peck at the old scripts but definitely there was a lot of work ongoing to produce the definitive one.
Anyway I love how almost all Marvel seems to know Odin is a bad father yet Odin doesn’te ven get a slap on his wrists. Really guys...
I like how he admits Thor’s journey is one of redemption... but really that’s not how you made a redemption arc...
I also find interesting how again we get a confirmation that Sif and the Warriors Three are ‘fiercely dedicated to THEIR FRIEND THOR’.
In the movie Thor says:
Thor: Why don't you tell her how you sent the Destroyer to kill our friends, to kill me?
But the truth is that those were his friends, not both’s. For the Warriors Three and Sif there was never a choice between Thor and Loki. They were Thor’s friends and to him their loyalty went.
I also like how he says he hopes they included enough humor, but no more than that as this is an action film, and, while fun moments are needed they need to have them sparingly of things get silly. How they didn’t want Thor to come to earth and suddenly become an idiot for comic relief. How they didn’t want for the jokes to end up being too distracting. I think this speaks of care for the story.
They even put care in creating Jane and Darcy. I still think they could do Jane better, but still they tried.

Usually, the team goes to Nick for missions and debriefs. This time, however, Nick came to the compound.
Thor and Bruce looked sympathetically at the four sporting bruises and holding ice packs to black eyes. Thor and Bruce didn't go into the compound and Loki was a bit more durable and healed faster than the others. One thing that everyone had in common that went on that mission was the shock.
The twins, Rhodey, Vision, Sam, and Bucky had all gotten the day off. It was kind of cruel irony, the ones who knew her, laughed with her, got to discover her previously unknown fate.
"And you're sure about this?" Nick sat at the front of the room trying to wrap his head around what they had told him.
The five all voiced their own "yes."
"You're positive?"
"Unless Y/n has a twin sister that looks exactly like her that you don't know about, then yeah, pretty positive." Tony gingerly reapplied his ice pack to the back of his skull where his head hits his helmet. "Friday, throw up the footage."
A screen opened up to show what was recorded from Tony's helmet. The feed was fast-forwarded to where Y/n walked into view amid the Hydra agents. Once her full face was shown the footage stopped and zoomed in close.
"Unless I'm mistaken,  I believe Y/n's eyes are very much black."
"Right you are my favorite android." Tony waved his finger haphazardly at Vision across the table.
Nick sat down and swiveled his chair to face the screen, "It looks like we found our missing Queen."
"Are we sure it's even her?" Sam looked apologetic for even suggesting such a thing, but skeptical all the same, "Could she be some sort of evil twin or somethin'?" Everyone couldn't help but flick their eyes to Wanda and Pietro at the mention of twins.
"No, Sam, it's her," Nick was looking at the screen.
"How can you tell?"
"There are stretch marks on her neck. Those are extremely hard to mimic and are in an unusual place."
Everyone was a bit freaked out.
Tony was squinting at the screen, "How can you even see that?"
Nick didn't answer so Tony looked to Natasha for an answer since she knew everything, but she didn't even acknowledge him.
Pietro looked more puzzled than the others, "Why would she have stretch marks on her neck?"
"Hey, Loki," Clint had a barely noticeable smirk on his face, "why don't you explain."
"That is a long story that does not need to be explained at the moment."
Bruce started the video again and watched it play through for a couple of minutes, studying Y/n's face. "There isn't even a hint of recognition in her face," he turned to look at the others in the room, "what could they have done to her?"
Rhodey started counting on his fingers, "She's been missing for what? Six years?"
Vision finished for him, "And The Queen has surfaced a little under four years ago."
"She must have seen many horrors in those two years." Thor looked solemn, not wanting to look at the screen.
"Good to see you can do basic math, brother." Loki tried to sneer, but it turned more into a wince than anything.
Thor sent a half-hearted glare back at him.
"They must be doing something a lot harder and faster to cut down the time table that quickly from when I was in there." Bucky swallowed while he had his eyes locked on the table.
Steve had a hand on Bucky's shoulder and gave it a gentle squeeze to show that he was safe there. Bucky nodded back at him to show he appreciated it.
"Maybe she's weak." Pietro was snapping his gum rather loudly but soon started to shrink back into his seat when he felt the glares.
"Or she could have gone with them willingly." Everyone froze as they looked over at Wanda. At first, she didn't notice the stares, but her magic tapped into the overall vibe of the room and she became a little uneasy.
"I would watch what you say about Ms. Y/n, Wanda." Vision had a look of warning when he looked at her, but she could tell that he wasn't excluding himself from it. "She is well respected not only by the people in this room but many outside of it as well."
Wanda's eyes wandered to see what exactly Vision was talking about. She noticed that Bruce had hints of green peeking out of his shirt collar. Loki had wisps and sparks of green winding around his fingers. Everyone else had twitching fingers or were flexing their jaws, struggling to stay calm. Or in Natasha's case, she was deadly still. What really drew her attention was everyone's hair sticking up at the static electricity. The source of which was the glow from Thor's eyes and the lines of lightning running up and down the space in between his fingers.
She mumbled out an apology and tucked her head down, not speaking a word more.
Steve was the first to speak again as he turned to face Nick, "How do you want to proceed, Fury?"
Nick sighed and leaned forward, templing his hands on the table. "We continue on missions as usual, but I want to adjust one thing on the teams. I want Loki on all the missions from now on." Nick focused on Loki, "You can get a break once we catch her. I want you to focus on getting in her head, try to communicate with her, find a weakness so we can take her down, anything."
"I can do that Fury," Wanda carefully peeked at him, tilting her head towards him.
"I know Wanda, but I still want Loki to supervise even when you're there. He has a lot more practice than you." He turned his attention to everyone else in the room, "She's an asset, and I would prefer if she was undamaged."
'Any more than she already is.'
Wanda read the thought from someone's head, but as everyone stood to leave, the commotion caused her to lose the link with whose ever mind she was reading before she could identify exactly who it was.
Wanda didn't enjoy invading people's privacy by reading their minds... That was a lie. She knew she wasn't supposed to enjoy invading privacy, at least, that's what they keep telling her every time she lets it slip that she's doing it. Honestly, she didn't really see a reason not to, if they can't tell she's doing it, why bother to stop. (If only she could keep her mouth shut.)
She asked Loki once if he was reading everyone's minds since she knew he was more than capable of doing so. He told her, no, his reason being "Why would you do that when there other ways of obtaining information that are far more fun."
She didn't ask what those were.
Wanda only tried to read his mind once but it was heavily shielded. She couldn't get past them and the look he gave her and the gleam in his eye made her not want to know what was in his head.
The team rarely, if ever, talked about Y/n as a group. As stated before they would talk about her more in pairs on a particularly hard day.
Wanda didn't know much about her, but with this new revelation coming to light there was no way she was going to leave anything in the dark.  The Avengers were growing soft and sentimental. Wanda didn't have any biases about this chick and if no one was going to tell her about her, well, Wanda was just going to have to play a little dirty.
She wandered through the compound, drifting just close enough to rooms where members of the team resided to be able to skim their thoughts and memories.
The more she drifted, the more frustrated she got. Wanda wasn't sure what she was expecting, some dirty little secret or maybe, hopefully, some sort of weakness. Instead, all she was getting was waves of sadness, confusion, and fond memories. There was no useful information in everything she skimmed through, just inconsequential things, like what she would have wanted her superpower to be, surprise surprise, she didn't get anywhere close, or that she had impressive karaoke skills.
Wanda's frustration caused her to not be so subtle in her investigating and she began to dive deeper into the minds of those around her. She finally made her way around to Bucky's room and instantly dove into his mind to see what the scoop was from him.
She regretted it quickly.
Bucky was trying to figure out what exactly they could have done to Y/n in the space of two years to have that much control over her. In order to do that he had to go over what exactly they did to him. Bucky lasted for nearly twenty years before breaking. He thought over all the types of torture and brainwashing they put him through, not without a flinch or two. What in the world could they have done to this agent that he hadn't even met, to make her not have a shred of recognition in the span of two years?
Pietro's comment did cross his mind a time or two, 'What if she's weak?' It didn't say for long, however, from what he's heard about her from Steve, Natasha, Clint, even Tony a few times, she was strong-willed. And to be a Shield agent? That job isn't for the weak of heart.
He tried to stop thinking about it, but his heart ached for another soul crushed, just like his. He only hoped he could maybe help her. If they ever found her again.
Wanda found it hard to tear herself away from such thoughts. She tried, but they just kept drawing her into the heartbreak, the pain. By the time she was able to detach herself from the web of horrors that was Bucky's thoughts, Wanda was emotionally exhausted.
She had finally found a consequence of reading someone's mind: sometimes you really don't want to know.
She had to retire to her own room and sort out all the stuff she had learned, but she had also decided that maybe she shouldn't be using her powers so liberally. Maybe learning about this Y/n wasn't worth it. Maybe she should just leave it alone.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have a confession to make. I had stopped being really proactive in my head for the past couple of months (I'm assuming a timeline here).  Due to that, I could feel the dark walls around me becoming soft and pliable. They weren't pliable to me, but Noxy started to invade the little space I had. It was almost like I was being eaten. The part of my body's consciousness that was me was slowly disappearing. I didn't fight back either. What was the point?
I had never allowed myself to make up scenarios about meeting the Avengers again, about them saving me, helping me, beating me. It only made my helplessness feel worse. But now? Despite everything I tried, it was the only thing I could think about. Over and over again, different options, conversations, deaths came to mind about how this could end.
'What if I could talk to them?'
'What if I somehow gained control and could join them in the middle of battle?'
'What song could be playing to somehow give them a clue of how to beat Noxy?'
That was the one I chose to entertain the most. I tried to sort through my music library but with music as my natural defense system, the lyrics seemed to be slipping away from my grasp into the dark expanses of my mind. I could only hope that the melodies were also engraved on my heart so that they could never be taken from me.
The song that I chose that could maybe give them the best clue was Blinded by the Light by what's-his-face-that-starts-with-an-m.
I became obsessed with it. Its words were one of the songs that were slipping away, and I could only mumble a few of the lines, but by heaven did I sing them.
Over.
And over.
And over.
Again.
And again.
And then maybe once more.
Blinded by the light... revekjsmed up like a dochewekf. Ansldkjthor rumner in the night!
'Please find me. Take me down. Kill me, I don't care. I need out.'
The more I thought about it, the more I became a slave to the song, to myself, to the darkness keeping me imprisoned...
Maybe I wasn't as sane as I would like to believe.
Pairing: Loki x reader Summary: Thor has always been supportive of his brother’s love life, but Loki won’t tell him that he’s dating you. When Thor won’t stop setting him up on dates, Loki has to move past his fears and confess. Warnings: just a fluff-bomb A/N: Thank you for requesting, my lovely nonny! This is longer than a typical imagine might be because I had so much fun with it (in fact it’s really more of a oneshot, oops). If you wanted something a little shorter, I already had a similar incorrect quote in my drafts that I’ll be posting for you later in the week :)
Disclaimer: Gif not mine
Sometimes it was hard to have a brother so dense. There were plenty of times during their youth when Loki would try to discuss lessons or ladies with Thor, but never seemed to make any sort of breakthrough. It was only when Loki started dating you that he was glad for it, as it made hiding the blooming relationship much easier. That is, until Thor kept trying to set him up on dates.
“I believe I might shove my brother off a cliff, darling,” Loki whined one afternoon, dramatically flopping on your bed.
“Aww. What did he do now?” you inquired after giving him a small peck on the lips.
“He arranged another date for me, and I was left with the arduous task of cancelling. It is a wonder how he has not noticed how absolutely smitten I am with you, my love.”
He nuzzled into your neck as you cuddled him, breathing in your comforting scent. You bent your head down to place a kiss on the adorable little crinkle between his brows. He relaxed a bit, but you could tell he was still stressed.
“Well, we could always tell him about us,” you suggested as Loki’s frown reappeared. “I mean, almost everyone else on the team figured it out. So I don’t really see why we shouldn’t tell Thor.”
Loki pondered this for a moment. True, the other Avengers were aware of your relationship, save for Steve and Bucky, who were too oblivious to even realize their own feelings for each other. Still, it was different with Thor, his brother, his only family left. He knew how fond of you Thor was, but if he were to oppose to the two of you dating, he had no idea what he’d do.
“My brother can be overbearing. I am not certain that telling him is the best option at present.”
“Ok. If you’re sure that’s all, then we’ll wait.”
He whispered a thank you into your hair as you shifted positions so that now he was spooning you. The whole reason you’d decided to keep the fact you were dating a secret in the first place was to be able to enjoy quiet moments like this. Loki has been worried that his teammates would disapprove and try to split you up. Surprisingly, they were supportive, even if they did engage in some subtle teasing. Though, their knowledge of your relationship made what happened at dinner the next night all the more embarrassing.
You and Loki kept secretly holding hands under the table, earning you some smirks from your teammates who happened to notice. Feeling self-conscious, you broke apart but left your legs touching ever so slightly, just enough to feel the warmth radiating off each other. You must have laughed a little too loudly at something Loki said because, suddenly, Thor got what he thought to be a novel idea.
“You know,” he said, pointing at you and Loki, “I believe you two would make a really cute couple.” As if that weren’t bad enough, he continued in a stage whisper, “You should really ask them out, Loki.”
The God of Mischief turned bright red as you started fidgeting in your seat. Everyone else made eye contact with each other before giving in to a bout of laughter. Thor demanded to know what was so funny, but no one could get any words out. When Tony laughed so hard he fell out of his seat, Loki decided that he’d had enough.
“Brother,” he shouted over the din. “I-well, we have something to tell you.”
“What is it?” he shouted back, still not catching on.
“Maybe we should do this somewhere quieter,” you suggested after a small sigh.
The three of you made your way out of the noisy dining room, and Loki started wringing his hands as both his lover and brother looked at him expectantly. This was his moment to finally get the truth out there. Unfortunately, his hands seemed to have a mind of their own and lashed out with a dagger, striking Thor.
“Surprise attack!”
“Loki!” you bellowed, upset with your boyfriend.
“Do not worry, my friend. This is a normal occurrence,” Thor assured you as Loki grabbed your hand and whisked you away.
Once behind closed doors, you fixed him with a withering glare. He knew that he was being ridiculous, especially now that Thor has shown he would be fine with you two dating. But Loki realized something else was stopping from sharing his joy with his brother. If he told Thor, it would be like bridging his old life and his new one. Granted, you already knew of his past misdeeds, but what if there was something else he hasn’t told you? Something long forgotten in his memory that Thor lets slip? In the end, his reluctance all boiled down to a fear of losing you.
“I know, I know. That was not the best route to choose. I just didn’t think it was the right time to say anything,” he lied.
“Why can’t you just be honest with me, Loki?” you pleaded as tears formed in your eyes. “It’s obvious that you’re embarrassed of me or something. The least you could do is tell the truth about it.”
“Oh, my darling,” he cooed, wiping a plump drop that had fallen and made a glistening track halfway down your cheek. “Please understand that my inability to tell my brother of us has nothing to do with you. You are the most wonderful thing to ever happen to me.”
“Then what is it?”
“I fear that you may come to resent me if you hear any more of my past.”
“Loki,” you said, voice heavy with emotion. “Look at me. I know that you’ve done some... questionable things before. But I know you now, and that’s what I care about. We’ve all done things we’re not proud of, but you work harder than anyone I know to make up for it. It’s one of the many reasons that I love you.”
He looked at you with eyes full of gratitude before hugging you close. “I love you too, dearest. Never doubt that.”
The air relaxed around Loki and his beloved as a quiet contemplation settled in. He slowly rocked the two of you back and forth, trying to plan his next move. If there was one thing he didn’t like, it was not knowing what to do next. But he was sure that, with you beside him, he could figure it out.
“Ok,” you said after sucking in a long breath. “We’ll wait then. As long as you need.”
“No,” Loki interjected, coming to a conclusion as you spoke. “I want to tell him now. Well, maybe not right at this moment. But tomorrow for certain.”
After checking that he was sure of this decision, you agreed to have lunch with Thor where you would tell him the news. Loki’s nerves were at an all-time high by noon the next day. He helped you set the table to try to calm them, but nothing seemed to cull his worries.  You came up behind him and wrapped your arms around his waist, pressing kisses to the tense spots between his shoulder blades.
“Hey, it’s going to be alright. I promise,” you reassured him, hoping to relieve some of the pressure he was feeling.
He relaxed in your embrace for a second before you broke away upon hearing Thor’s heavy footsteps approaching. Loki tweaked the utensils once more, and you pressed a quick kiss to his knuckles in a final act of comfort. It also helped some that Thor seemed to be in an even more jovial mood than usual. Which, of course, was saying something as the god was relentlessly optimistic.
Sitting down, he greeted you both by name and told you everything smelled delicious. The God of Thunder bit his lip to hold back a smile, but you and Loki could see it tugging its way onto his face. The two of you shared a look, attempting to figure out what exactly was the cause of such joy for the older Odinson boy.
“Um, Thor?” you said. “Is there something you wanted to share with us?”
“No. Is there something you want to share with me?”
Another look passed between you and Loki. Suddenly, Loki realized that his brother must know the news you were about to share. It figures that after all this time, he worked it out moments before he was about to come clean.
“You have figured it out,” Loki sighed, “haven’t you?”
Thor nodded eagerly and came around the table to hug his brother and friend, overjoyed that they were dating. He loosened his grip around you upon hearing your gasping voice telling him he was hugging too tight, a terrible habit of his.
“But when did you figure it out?” you questioned, puzzling over the timeline of events.
“I have known for months, of course.” He tried to stick to this story, but the skeptical looks from both you and his brother made him abandon his position. “I saw you two being all cuddly just before I came in,” he conceded with slumped shoulders.
All three of you began to laugh, and Loki was surprised by how relieved he felt at not having to actually confess. The rest of the lunch went swimmingly, and the God of Mischief relaxed further, happy to have both his brother and beloved in such high spirits. Unfortunately, his own sunk when Thor offered to tell a story about him. It seemed like his worst fears were about to come true.
“One time when we were children,” Thor began with a wistful look in his eye, “Loki tried to use some of his magic and accidentally turned himself into a cat. He came to my room and pestered me until I brought him to mother. Remember that, brother?”
“Indeed, I do,” Loki said with a nostalgic laugh, feeling relieved that was all Thor shared. “It was one of the first spells I ever tried. I am afraid that I sorely botched it. I was coughing hair balls for weeks.”
“So that’s why you won’t let me get a kitten!” you added with a laugh of your own.
The brothers went back and forth telling embarrassing stories about the other. You refused to share any of your awkward childhood moments, and your companions vowed to get some out of you one day. All in all, Loki had a great time. He squeezed your hand in thanks under the table. With shining eyes he observed you and Thor laughing. He realized that, for the first time in his life, he had nothing to worry about. After all, he’d been wrong when he’d thought Thor was the only family he had left. Now you were his family, too. And nothing could possibly take away you or the love you shared.
Can’t Help Falling in Love
Loki x Reader (Gender Neutral)
Summary: When Loki learns the traditions of Valentine’s Day, he asks you to be his Valentine- and reluctantly takes advice from Steve Rogers.
Warnings: none; just fluff
Word Count: 2.9k
A/N: Thank you to @squadleaderchase for the suggestion! This was so fun to write!
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!
I recommend listening to Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley towards the end of this imagine!
There is also a female reader version of this fic, available here!
Tumblr media
“Can’t Midgardians have a holiday that doesn’t involve such a grotesque display of… red?” Loki asks walking into the living room of the Avengers compound. Loki arrived at the compound a few weeks before Christmas and so far, he’s experienced two Earth holidays: Christmas and New Year’s. Of course, Tony had picked the theme for both parties to be elaborately red and gold- he claimed the fact that it matched his suit was merely a coincidence.
“Just wait until next month,” you reply casually, your eyes not leaving the brief you were reading while you sat cozied up in one of the large armchairs. “I think you’ll like St. Patrick’s Day much more… color scheme wise at least.”
Loki looked up curiously at the hearts of all shades of red and pink Natasha had hung up to decorate the Avengers’ living quarters. She had gone to visit Clint’s family and his kids spent hours making Valentines and decorations out of construction paper and glitter. Loki looked almost puzzled at the lopsided hearts that hung from the ceiling on transparent line so they looked like they floated mid-air.
“Perhaps I might,” he mumbled to himself, the lovesick aura of his surroundings making him slightly disgusted. “Though I suppose I find your rituals as bizarre as you’d find on Asgard.”
“Mhmm,” you mumbled in response to his thinking out loud. It was rare that the compound would be this quiet. It was a Friday evening and in the middle of a team meeting earlier today, Tony declared exhaustedly that everyone needs to start the weekend early and dismissed everyone despite Steve’s protests. You weren’t sure where everyone else went and you didn’t particularly care- enjoying the rare peace and quiet.
You didn’t mind Loki’s company. He was a little aloof but overall, you found him more to be misunderstood than anything else. He wasn’t like Thor and sure, he had a very trouble ridden past to downplay it- but he’s confided in you all it wasn’t entirely his doing. Out of everyone living at the compound, he probably had grown the closest to you, or as close as Loki would allow himself to be to someone.
“What even is this holiday?” Loki asked, pulling his attention from the decorations to where you sat, binder in your lap. You looked up and closed the brief, tossing it onto the coffee table in front of where you sat.
“Sunday is Valentine’s Day,” you say looking back over to him, meeting his eyes. “I mean overtime the traditions and how we celebrate have changed but it’s originally the day meant to honor St. Valentine and commemorate his death. There’s a lot more to it than that and there’s all different of different origins, but now it’s more like a day where you celebrate love, because he was the patron Saint of Love.”
Loki nods, liking the idea of this holiday much more than New Years already. He didn’t mind Christmas, but the elaborate parties made everything not very appealing to him. You can’t blame the god for not having a good time at parties where every guest fears him or hates him. He walks over and takes a seat on the couch and crosses his legs. He was intrigued enough to continue the conversation and ask you more questions. “What are the traditions?” He asks curiously.
“Traditionally, you would ask someone to be your Valentine, and that’s the person you want to spend the day with,” you answer with a small shrug, trying to explain a holiday you’ve never had to explain before. “Some people have it easy and they ask their significant other, and if you don’t have one, you ask someone you’re romantically interested in to be your Valentine. Then you give each other gifts, like chocolates or flowers, anything really that’s romantic and you go out on a date, like a nice dinner but it doesn’t have to be. That’s the basic gist.”
“Thank you, (y/n),” Loki said, mulling over your explanation. “You’ve been helpful, as always. Tell me, who’s your Valentine?”
“I don’t have one,” you answered honestly. The only time you really celebrated was when you had been with someone. You’d never really participated otherwise. You planned to just spend the night alone or with Nat if she also didn’t have plans and probably watch a movie- most definitely Pride and Prejudice.
“Shame,” Loki said with a tsk. “Perhaps, if you would be interested, you could be my Valentine?”
“Really?” you ask, honestly surprised.
“I actually like the idea of the day,” Loki shrugged. “And I don’t know many people, people seem to hate me on this planet- no idea as to why. You’ve always been kind to me, and you are the most tolerable person I’ve encountered on this planet.”
“That’s oddly very kind of you,” you say with a chuckle. “I appreciate the sentiments. Um, yes. I’d be happy to be your Valentine.”
“Excellent,” he grinned. He clapped his hands together and stood up. “Splendid. I’ll ask Thor to help me plan something.”
“I’m looking forward to it,” you smile, picking up your paperwork again as Loki heads off to find his brother.
***
“Brother,” Thor’s voice echoed in the training room. “Spar with me?”
“As much as I would love to,” Loki said sarcastically, “I need your help with something I need to plan.” Loki walked over to the side of the mat where Thor had been training with Captain Rogers.
“Plan what?” Captain Rogers asked curiously. It was an innocent enough question but Loki took it as Rogers insinuating his distrust in him. Of course, Loki can’t blame the man but it did rub him the wrong way.
“If you must know Captain Rogers, I’m making plans for this upcoming Valentine’s Day,” Loki said matter-of-factly. “I’m sure since you have quite the active love life recently, your words of wisdom are probably of infinite value.”
“You can learn a thing or two from me,” Steve retorted as he put the punching bag beck into place. “But I don’t like your attitude.”
“I don’t know how I’ll ever manage without you,” Loki scoffed. He turned his attention back to his brother. “I need help to determine where I should take (y/n) and what I should get for a present.”
“(y/n) agreed to this?” Thor asks, his eyebrows raised in confusion. Rogers kept his mouth shut, deciding to see where this conversation will go before
“Yes, brother. I asked (y/n) to be my Valentine as stated by tradition and they said yes.”
“Ah! Good for you, brother!” Thor exclaimed, happily. “I’m glad you’re immersing yourself in the Midgard culture.”
“Yes, yes,” Loki waved him off, “Now, please, tell me what I should do.”
“I’ve never celebrated Valentine’s Day,” Thor says with a shrug and a sympathetic look. “I haven’t had much opportunity to explore the culture. Every time I’m on this planet I’m a little busy preventing its destruction. Perhaps Rogers can help you?”
Loki let out an exasperated sigh. He avoided Rogers as he knew the man had such a smug look on his face. Loki refused to give him the satisfaction. However, he realized that wouldn’t be fair to you. Rogers not only knew what to do, but he was also close friends with you. He quickly realized if he wanted to celebrate with you properly, he’d need to rely on the infamous super soldier.
“Captain Rogers,” Loki said with a charismatic smile, turning back to the man. “I wholeheartedly apologize for my lack of… social niceties. If you’d be willing to help me, to ensure your dear friend enjoys the holiday, I would be sincerely grateful.”
“Only because of (y/n),” Rogers says skeptically, waving a finger at Loki. “They deserve to enjoy their time and I wouldn’t be able to live with myself if I let you screw up their evening.”
“What a loyal friend.”
Years later, the Avengers would still talk about the fact Loki cared about you so much, he sought out advice from Captain America and Thor. And as Captain America said, he helped Loki with every last detail and Steve never let Loki forget it.
***
Loki had told you that he’d come to your room to get you at 6 o’clock Sunday evening. He wore clothes he had picked out, black dress pants, a white button-down shirt and shiny, black dress shoes. He had kept the last button of the shirt unbuttoned and he had rolled the sleeves up, a styling tip he had gotten from Thor. He had his long hair gelled back and tamed, ignoring Captain Roger’s horrible suggestion for a haircut. He felt very weird not wearing any green, but he took the advice he was given on his ensemble.
You were just putting on your shoes when he knocked at your door Sunday promptly at 6pm. Of course, Loki would be very punctual. You gave yourself one more quick once more in the mirror in your room before heading to answer the door.
You kept your appearance simple, sticking to how you usually styled your hair. Not wanting to keep him waiting, you quickly opened the door, your jacket in hand.
“Wow,” you say with a grin, when you take in Loki’s appearance. “You look very nice.”
“You look stunning,” Loki said, his eyes widening, taking in your appearance. The compliment made you have butterflies.
“Thank you,” you said with false confidence. Underneath, you were a nervous wreck as you took the arm that he extended to you.
“So,” Loki began to walk down the hallway with you. “Apparently, this planet has something called reservations, and anyone who tries to get one a few days before Valentine’s Day is a “moron,” according to a very rude young man I had the pleasure of speaking with- the first time using a phone too on top of that. So, I hope you don’t mind if the evening is a little… makeshift.”
“I’m sure it’ll be great,” you reassure him. You feel him relax slightly. You found how hard he was trying so endearing.
Where else did he bring you but just down the hall to the living room. At night with the lights dimmed, combined with Natasha’s homemade decorations, it actually looked quite beautiful. He had decorated with an eclectic array of candles as well that covered most surfaces of the room. It also looked like he had swiped every throw pillow in the whole compound and had them arranged the coffee table in the center of the room.
“Did you do all of this?” You ask in awe.
“Yes,” he replied, just watching you. “Do you like it?”
“It’s perfect.”
“I had to make my own version of advice I received,” he disclosed to you. You sat opposite each other on either side of the coffee table, you kicked off your heels and he did the same with his shoes. “Captain Rogers said- and I’m trying my best to quote verbatim, ‘You need to show a special someone a good time if you care about ‘em . You gotta take ‘em to dinner and dancing.’” He even mimicked Steve’s voice perfectly. It made you laugh.
“I can’t believe you subjected yourself to Steve for me, I’m touched,” you smiled. “I mean I love Steve,” you continue, “But I can’t imagine you too being best friends anytime soon.”
“No, I suppose we probably won’t be,” Loki chuckles.
“I hate to point it out,” you continue, “but I think you missed both the dinner part and the dancing part of that plan.” Loki smirked and when you blinked, he transformed the whole room.
“Did I?” he asks, with an eyebrow raised. You gasp, looking around the room you were now in. You knew it was an illusion, but it felt very real. The atmosphere, the breeze coming in from the large bay windows that weren’t there before. The coffee table now a table now one of many dining tables in an incredibly high-end restaurant. The table had food, and a bottle of wine. You were stunned. There was a live band and other couples in other tables and out on the dancefloor.
“Loki?” You exclaimed, looking around at your new surroundings. It was amazing. You couldn’t believe the magic right before your eyes. Of course, you knew it was just one of his tricks, but it felt so incredibly real. You picked up your fork and took a bite of the food in front of you. It was incredible, you questioned if you were even eating.
“It’s real,” Loki said, like he could read your mind. Honestly, he had only just anticipated your next question. “I made it. Well, I made it with Friday’s supervision.”
“It’s fantastic! I can’t believe you went through all this trouble just for me.”
“Sweetheart, you are very much worth it- worth much more than this,” he responded casually, throwing in the term of endearment to see how you’d react. He caught the way it made you smile.
You continued to talk for a little while, and shared stories. You were worried that compared to his life on Asgard, he’d find your stories incredibly boring and mundane. It seemed to be the opposite. His attention was only on you and he held on to every word you said. He created this elaborate setting just to keep you the center of his attention.
“Should we dance?” He asks suddenly, a glimmer in his eye. You looked down apprehensively.
“I’m not really a dancer,” you tried to insist.
“Do you actually not want to dance, darling? Because if so, I will not bring it up again,” he says earnestly, “But, if you’re saying no because you’re afraid I’m going to judge you, I honestly can promise you I would never dream of doing so.”
You give it another moment to ponder over his words. You were taken aback at how well he seemed to know how you were thinking. You let out a sigh of defeat, and smile. “I’d love to,” you reply.
He stands up and offers you his hand. His smile is enough to make you weak at the knees. You take his hand and he leads you over to the dancefloor as the band starts playing its next song. “Does that singer sound like Elvis?” You ask, the small glitch in the illusion throwing you off for only a moment.
“I don’t know who that is,” Loki says with a laugh. He pulls you in close and rests one hand on the small of your back and the other grasps your hand close. You wrap your other arm around his shoulder. You are both pressed up incredibly close to one another. You rest your head on his chest comfortably, and you can’t see how much the action makes his whole face go red. Guiding your movements together, it mostly just swaying in place. The steps were small, and with the music playing for the two of you.
“This place is incredible,” you sigh happily looking up at him. “But I think I liked the first place a little better.”
He nodded in agreement and you got to watch a green hue encompass the walls of the restaurant as they almost melted away, and everything around the two of you just fade away. The sconces on the walls, revealed themselves to be the candles that cluttered the living room and the couples evaporated with the green mist. The table you had both sat at, turned back to the coffee table but the empty plates remained. The elaborate statues that surrounded the room turned into the furniture you knew well, and then the live band faded away to reveal Steve’s record player indeed playing a 45 of Can’t Help Falling in Love by Elvis Presley.
When the room finished revealing its true appearance to you, you laid your head back on Loki’s chest and mumbled that now it was perfect. He smiled to himself, thinking about how without a doubt in his mind, Valentine’s Day is his absolute favorite holiday on Midgard. He now couldn’t believe this reality was real. If he wasn’t holding you, he’d pinch himself. You were here, with him, in his arms, dancing in the middle of the living room on this godforsaken planet.
“(y/n)?” he whispered softly as the song was coming to an end.
“Mhmm?” You responded, your eyes closed, really just basking in the feeling of being so close to him and the smell of his cologne.
“Will be mine?” He asks carefully, remembering the phrase from Captain Roger’s advice. That phrase apparently being very important if today went well and he wanted to ask you to “go steady.” You chuckled softly, hearing Steve’s influence in the phrase.
“I would love to,” you say with a shy smile looking back up to him. He beams, incredibly happy you said yes. Swept up in his emotions, he swiftly leans down and presses his lips to yours capturing them in a passionate first kiss.
“Oh gross!” You hear someone exclaim, making you both pull away. It’s Tony- who was currently holding his side in pain as Pepper elbowed him in the side.
“You really had to do that?” she chastised him, rolling her eyes and giving an apologetic look to you and Loki before pushing Tony down the hallway to give you both your moment back, as sullied as it had become thanks to Tony.
“I never gave Rock of Ages permission to be… lovey dovey in my building! (y/n) you can do so much better than that greaseball!”
“I’m so sorry,” she said embarrassed by his outburst, ushering him out as quickly as possible.
Loki turns his head back to you, immediately after they are out of view. “Where were we, darling?” He smirks, pulling you in for another kiss.
