I don't know how to segue out of this.”#This madam lan design is inspired by Qourmet's design! Really good stuff that I was not able to do more with in this one panel.#Speaking of...I know it is ambiguous on purpose and we are only told what happened through LXC's POV but...#I always interpreted madam lan's passing as a suicide. I think LXC was told it was illness to soften the blow.#She was stuck in a house with maybe a servant coming by to give her food. One day a month she saw her children.#Of course she was warm and loving in their memories-#She was trying to give them a version of her that would be remembered as such. She wanted to protect them from the truth.#She did her best but she was already dead a long time ago. She must have felt like a ghost haunting a house.#Love to her was waiting. And both her boys inherited that view of love.

if tai is guarding the crown of choice i'm not even expecting him to fight cinder or anything, quite the opposite; this is the same man who said that instead of tackling an obstacle by going through it, why not find a way around it:

like at this point he might as well go "are you hungry? i'm already making dinner so would you want to eat something?" he keeps cooking for multiple people even tho no one else is at home bc he's so used to it and now he's just like please somebody eat this food. like he knows who cinder is but by gods will he play dumb just so he has some company other than zwei for dinner.

(and cinder gets to eat a home-cooked meal for probably the first time in her life. i need this to happen okay, hunger is her thing, let her eat!!)

ive never seen anyone talk about this before so i will: i think the second opening of dungeon meshi symbolizes what would have happened if the winged lion won.

#think about it.#the blank background with nothing in it that seems to stretch out forever #the shot of all the background characters rising while being unnaturally happy #the golden kingdom citizens especially #and thistle dancing with delgal #being that delgal's happiness and the citizens' safety was his desire and all #which had already been eaten by the lion previously #not sure what it means that the touden party are the only ones seen with monsters and food but im sure it means something #my working theory is that it represents the eat or be eaten thing #the rest of the characters are being eaten #the party is seen capturing monsters to eat #in the end of the dream sequence they all smile as they fall into a pot #but at the last moment #both them and the pot disappear #perhaps that is the refusal to be eaten #and i think the shot of them looking into the pot with tiny versions of themselves #represents "if you want to take (eat) you must be prepared to have something taken away from you (in this case their lives. since theyre #gonna be eaten)#i think #tldr dungeon meshi opening 2 is laios's prophetic dream of saving the world from the maws of the winged lion by refusing to bow down and #become a meal #food #dungeon meshi #dungeon meshi spoilers #edit: my mistake the touden party arent the only ones seen with monsters — theyre seen throughout the opening #but my point still stands #theyre the only ones seen attacking/hunting them #aka making an active attempt to survive

#i've had many people ask me in the DMs what could be done to help me out given the orange menace is coming back into power #the best things for me right now (I can't speak to others) is this: 1. Keep supporting my creative endeavors #no matter how little I might post or interact. Please hype me up. I need community. I need spirit to survive.#2. Help me find resources that will help myself and others. Food banks. Community meets. Passports. Finances. Mental health etc.#these are important and I don't want others feeling like sitting ducks. Even though I'm scared I want to be a solution to the problem.#I am going to be a helper in this mess cause that's who I am and I need ammo in this capacity #3. Donate so I can up my ration storage. I've been collecting food water and nonperishables and I'm trying to stock up on medication #and other basic necessities. I'm collecting as if I'm preparing to be homeless again and if I am over capacity I'm giving rations to others #I've had to make peace with the fact I can't run away. I can't move to another country as I'm broke and poor like the rest of my loved ones #4. If you have friends who are disabled or a minority or lgbtq etc. do what you can to protect them and show them that you love them #and build community #5. Share my work and that of others. Who knows if we're gonna have sites like AO3 in the future or even access to tumblr.#this is all I can think of at the moment and again I can't speak for others this is what comes to mind for myself #And I admit I'm coming from a place of the worst case scenarios #because in my mind if I imagine I'm dead or homeless etc. and work my way backward to the next worst thing before that it unravels my fear #and it gives me back my power in the situation by sitting with those fears and giving them time to speak #because in my mind if I'm already dead if I'm already homeless or at war etc. etc. then its already happened and what else is there to fear #if I've been through everything already in mind?#I'm hoping that the worst case scenarios don't transpire but I can't ignore the fact many of them could and probably will happen #in some capacity but I can control the actions I take through prep and facing these fears one by one #and most importantly sticking to routine by making sure im healthy to help people #anyway this is why ive been quiet for a while besides for spending time with friends and loved ones recently to get over what happened #im going to keep going to my classes keep helping people through my jobs try to be creative when I have spoons and little by little #make sure I have enough of what I need to get through the storm and outlive the bastards in power #I'm not sure what sort of pink variant to assign this to but its along the magenta spectrum #love you guys #we'll get through this

definitely too old for apartment sharing nonsense. this guys place i am staying at advertised his flat in a way you'd assume he had experience hosting people, but turns out any time his friends or family come over there can't be any evidence a woman is staying in one of his rooms.

I already agreed to stay outside for the day but now he suddenly needs to get all my clothes into one of his overcrowed closets? (i had like three things on hangers in the room since the closets smell like damp) + he also wanted to take my clothes from the drying rack outside (i checked with him beforehand that i could do laundry) to also put them - still damp - in a closet.

my dude. do not offer to have people stay over if that is how you are living. and has the gall to self-advertise that he wants people to feel at home while they are at his place.

(this is only temporarily because i needed a place for 10 days and the owner of the place i actually live at arranged everything, so i feel even less bad about imposing a bit since he is getting paid quite a bit for this)

also, i feel like there is no need for this. if it's dark outside, no one will check the balcony. he could always say he just allowed a friend to use the washing mashine and his room as storage while traveling etc etc.

on a general level i feel for him, like growing up in such a patriarchial society that you have to do this elaborate play to somehow connect your families sensitiveties with your own open-mindedness...but my guy...this seems stressful for everyone involved.

So I hit my 700th edit for the WHA wiki today, because I am a totally normal person

#For the record I have been there for. 27 days.#That makes an average of 26 edits a day which is even more terrifying because I definitely was not updating every day #Also this is for the Telepedia Wiki not the Fandom one #Anyway you should check it out!#In maybe a week because the website cache is super slow for some reason when you're not logged in #But I'm having fun #The nice thing about working on a wiki where there's actually other people doing stuff #Is that they can do the boring stuff like character bios and etc while I run around doing the fun stuff like pages on animals and plants #Anyway I was working on the Eldroxen page which are the big fluffy ox from the Silver Eve Procession #And it was so funny collecting info on them from the main series and then checking Kitchen real quick and SURPRISE! THEY'RE EATING IT!#I mean I should have expected this after having watched Dungeon Meshi and yet~~~#Also funny was that I copy+pasted the page coding for one the (food) animals as a template for this giant Mole-worm beast page but #forgot to remove the line about it being for food and afterwards had a laugh and then removed it #But now I'm like. They probably WOULD eat that sucker. Giant mole worm/snake/dragon thing? That'd feed a whole town!#Qifrey could have an entire audience watching how he'd prepare and season it #Anyway if you've been wondering where I've been that's it #Also funny story: during the Covid pandemic I stayed employed when my coworkers got let go because they needed me to catalogue an entire #new set of guided reading books; and have these sets have a digital checkout instead of the old-school card catalog we were literally still #using in 2020. Anyway I went all out with the organization of the books and the boxes and even made a reference binder for the books #via subject so teachers/tutors could find specific subjects and reading levels etc #(I'd have done a digital way to search for results but honestly half the teachers couldn't figure out how to sign in to the laptop. So.)#Anyway. Only a handful of teachers actually used these books and two years later the school switched to a new reading program #that came with its own set of books and lessons so this 10k reading set was essentially unneeded (and my dear coworkers never got rehired)#Anyway I learned last week that they're clearing out that room and all of those barely-used books are getting thrown out 🙃🙃🙃🙃🙃#Isn't that funny #Literally everything is just sandcastles built in the surf #I'm so glad I already accepted this during my pumpkin carving years because otherwise I think I'd be upset #Anyway I'm gonna go play my spooky fishing game
