was talking to my friend @nerd-theories about an ace attorney investigations game from child trucy's pov and this is what we came up with
#ace attorney#phoenix wright#miles edgeworth#trucy wright#beanix#narumitsu#meme#the basic idea is that phoenix and trucy are visiting miles during phoenix's disbarment#phoenix is there to help him investigate and trucy is tagging along (despite their attempts to stop her).#anyways the goal was more baby trucy bc she is so adorable#but we quickly added the joke that phoenix and miles are trying to flirt and stuff but trucy doesn't know what's going on#and keeps asking what they're talking about or what they're doing whenever they try.#i know someone has probably made a meme like this before so enjoy seeing it again!

i appreciate trying to respect the agency trucy has as a character but also she is a 15 year old and while 15 year olds are capable of making their own decisions those decisions are often influenced by a large number of factors. like for example their parents

current conclusion from the trucy poll: either my family is just weird or none of you have step-parents i think
#i wasnt expecting miles to win but the fact that its currently losing to A NICKNAME????#this is not a dig at anyone i think basically every option on there is reasonable in one circumstance or another#but personally i think trucy being on a first name basis with edgeworth is a) extremely funny#and also b) a extremely normal relationship to have with your dads long term partner who you dont necessarily see as your own parent#that being said my own personal takes are:#miles if wrightworth were dating for most of the 7yg#uncle miles if edgeworth was mostly known to trucy as a family friend during that time#'dad' or something along those lines is theoretically possible but theres no way trucy goes for it right away#mostly on the basis of i doubt edgeworth would be comfortable with it at first#they could get there but i think it would take like. years.#but also! irl its a weird switch to make + i dont think the meaningfulness of their potential relationship#has to be signified by her CALLING him dad you know? it can be like 'this is my other dad. i call him miles'#which once again: also way funnier#i do really want to know what nickname people think trucy is calling him though

It's not that I don't love that she was there, but Kay really had no business being in AAI2
#how do i say this.. you know how the og trilogy is just as much maya's story as it is phoenix's (arguably more so hers because of#the impact of the fey clan?) and how dgs is also susato's story as much as it is ryuunosuke's because it's her family and dream who's#actually central to the plot? and how investigations 1 was also kay's story because it involved the truth of the yatagarasu?#yeah that's not the case in aai2. she's quite literally just along for the ride here and is actually used to further edgeworth's#character more than anything else. i feel like this is most obvious/egregious in the forgotten turnabout where they literally make her#a totally different person so she can be wholly reliant on him and it's just !! i like aai2 i genuinely do but i like the parts of it#better than it's whole.#made that whole long kay post and STILL didnt address the forgotten turnabout which is what i wanted to talk about to begin with#smh#also her being there kind of makes their whole separation at the end of aai really funny instead of meaningful?? you know how the og#trilogy had rfta to make you feel how long it's been since phoenix and maya have seen each other? yeah aai2 literally does not do that#both from meta and in game perspectives it's been like. 15 minutes since she's stepped out and it's so.#shkadgkadh#the problem with kay in aai2 is that the Yatagarasu thing is done. it's over. and her whole story revolves around that!!#so if you cant come up with something else to add to it it leaves her just hanging about#waiting to fuel other people's stories#i just. ive seen people marvel at how the same director who made aai and aai2 could go on to make the trainwrecks that were#dd and soj but if you compare kay's treatment to trucy's there you'll see some similarities
