i thought people were - not lying, but certainly exaggerating how bad the writing for lana and lex was in s6, the way fandoms always do when the writing takes a turn away from what they want and makes the characters do things they deem "ooc." but now that i've slogged through, whatever tf that was and am firmly on the other side in s7, and they're writing these characters and this relationship with just a titch more nuance, i can look back on that and say, wtf kind of weird, preachy, torture porn was that?? and so boring too, like they're not even the fun kind of toxic like they are in s7. it was just, so bland. just awful.

Currently watching the last of Smallville's special features. Turns out the first idea the show's writers/producers pitched was a Lois Lane centric show. Where Lois is in college and goes through Ally Mcbeal/Nancy Drew style adventures, and has an online friend named ckent. It might not have lasted 10 seasons, but it probably would have been fun.
Interesting,, that seems like a curiously similar premise to the Lois Lane YA novel series Fallout! Right down to being online friends (or more) with Clark. Which I haven't read (does not seem like my cup of tea haha). Fascinating to hear about different show pitches though.
#if u don't tackle Lois' marginalization as a woman she ends up-#-being girlboss instead of jaded through systemic oppression.#askjesncin#the casually comics review is very thorough. it touches on the very common modern Lois problem

I'll Never Let You Go
It's the third time. The third time Wes and Jon tried to say 'i do', and things turned into a disaster again.
The first time was Lex Luthor dropping the bomb (figuratively) on Superman and Jon that he had cloned Clark, and was hiding the kid below a kryptonite bomb (literally), for fun. That of course put the wedding off. And to be honest, Wes was glad that time. Everything felt too showy. Star City's mayor and IT Goddess' foster son set to marry into Metropolis reporting dynasty.
The second time they almost got hitched, they got all the way to the alter before a time worm ate half of Central City... He's blaming that one on Barry Allen.
And now here they are. It was supposed to be a small gathering just friends and family. But of course nothing can go right for them.
He's sitting in the bunker as Q finishes up the sutures on his right shoulder. He's telling him how to apply the balm to take care of it, and Wes should listen, otherwise he'll be left with one hell of a scar. But he can't seem to focus on anything.
Not when the image of Adrian was burned into his mind, kryptonite arrow knocked in place aiming for Jon and Lanie. His family.
The man had destroyed the city, killed his mother, and tried time and again to hurt the only people who had been willing to take him in, and now he threatened the family Wes had built for himself.
Without thinking he stepped in the way, taking the arrow straight into his shoulder. Lanie screamed, Jon reached for him but was pulled back by the other supers. It took Clark, Mon-El, Kara, and Allie to hold him still. And Wes broke watching. The one thing that could keep them apart his father used against them. And it felt like darkness across his heart.
"That's all of it," Q said as he pressed the bandage in place. "But I still want you to come in to the clinic next week for a follow up."
"Thanks doc," he quipped, trying to press a smile to his face. It's how he dealt with things when Adrian came into it. But Q's gaze told him he wasn't quite done.
"As someone with a psychotic father figure," he started but Wes cut him off.
"Don't okay," he sighed. "We can trauma bond later, but right now I can't okay?"
"That's fair."
He needed to talk to Jon, apologize for all that happened. Wes needed him to know that if this was too much, if he needed time to process Adrian being back, they could postpone again. As much as that thought broke his heart.
As if he sensed Wes' thoughts, Jon came over to them, the nervousness radiating off him in waves
"All good?" He asked, and while the question was directed at Quincy, Wes could tell Jon was talking mostly to him.
"Clear of kryptonite," Q replied. "Ronnie and HD took it off site to analyze the composite and see if we can figure out how zombie Chase got a hold of it."
"Zombie Chase?" Wes raised a brow.
Q shrugged. "Seemed shorter than recently resurrected evil dad." He looked between the two of them. " I'm gonna go go see if anyone else needs patched up."
Wes wished he hadn't left so abruptly, wanting to find a way to ease into the conversation he desperately didn't want to have with Jon. It's like he could feel the ground beneath him start to crumble. He wanted to reach out, to hold on to the life he'd been trying to build, even for just a second longer.
"I'm sorry--" "I wanna talk..."
Their words mixed and tangled together and Wes felt like his heart would crack.
"Wait?" Jon looked at him perplexed. "Why are you apologizing?"
"Because my father shot at you with the only thing on this planet that could kill you."
Jon shook his head leaning in until their foreheads pressed together. Wes breathed in the scent of hay and the aftershave Jon had been wearing since they met all those years ago. Before Wes knew he'd fall so hard for the Smallville farm boy that he felt the earth would implode on itself if anyone tried to hurt him.
"You stepped in the way," it sounded accusatory.
"He was gonna kill you."
"And he *almost* killed you," Jon pleaded. His lips dusting a kiss on Wes' cheek .
"I had to protect you and Lanie," he replied. "You two are everything to me."
The longest of silences passed before Jon spoke. "Marry me."
Wes shifted to meet Jon's eyes. His love looked as if nothing could shake his resolve.
"Kinda been tryna do that for a few months now, if you hadn't noticed?"
He shook his dark locks. "Not a month from now when we rebook a venue. Not after we pick beef or chicken or new flowers. Now. Right here, right now. Everyone I need to be there is right here. So I don't want to wait. I wanna be with you forever Wes, so let's get married."
So in the end they weren't wearing pristine tuxes, and Lanie's hair wasn't in a braid crown atop her head. They didn't have speeches or rehearsed vows, but what they did have was even more special.
They had Oliver do the ceremony and shared a hostess cupcake that Lanie insisted on the biggest bite of. And they laughed when the cream filling covered the bridge of her nose.
It wasn't grand or spectacular. But in the end, it turns out, they didn't need all those things. Not when the end result was the three of them finally being the family they had always longed for.

Seriously, does anybody old like me ever just sit and stare at their screen at gifs of OFMD and RWRB and Zira and Crowley being adorbs*, etc, and think, "I get to watch queer and neurodivergent and trans and poly people fall in love and be happy, and no one dies, and no one is separated forever*, and it's not tragic, and it's just lovely and sweet, what is this world, this is a miracle this is so wonderful, i must be dreaming..."
(*i'm including the qualifier "forever" so i can include Good Omens, because we're getting S3)
(Also, though I haven't watched it yet I should probably include Fourteen getting himself some actual peace as a reward after being made canonically queer, even though we already knew he was; because it's like a message saying, Hey! You deserve to be happy and loved, and all of your trauma can be healed!)
The me who grew up on things like Xena and Smallville is really just going crazy these days. I can't believe this is happening. It's so insane and unexpected! Just pure wonder, even as I'm scared someone's going to take it away from me, because that's all I've ever known... but instead it seems like we're getting allies in the film industry, and that's just like, what the hell?! Is this real?!

Lex Luthor (Smallville) - Short Story : Chapter 5
“Are you at least getting fresh air?”
“There’s a lot of windows in the mansion.”
“That’s not what I mean! Go outside!!”
Lex smiled at the thread of text messages.
He’d been working on a project for the last week, so of course when you hadn’t seen much of him you got worried.
The revelation was nice.
The thought of someone worrying, caring about his well being.
He assured you that he wasn’t completely barricading himself inside his office. He was nearly done. The last parts were coming together and he could catch up on a week’s worth of sleep. Sending a reply, he slid the phone on his desk as he forwarded the last email. Once sent, he closed his laptop, letting out a sigh. All he really needed was a shower and a meal and then he could enjoy his new found free time.
At least that’s what he hoped. The doors flying open assured him that was not the case.
The person standing before him was not who he expected.
Clark Kent.
“Great. What crime is he going to accuse me of now?”
All he wanted was a bath.
“We need to talk.”
Lex just worked up that confident smile.
“I don’t recall us having any meetings scheduled. Let me get back to you when my calendar is free.”
“This isn’t a game Lex.”
Clark’s tone was firm, and he realized at that moment that he couldn’t just brush it off with clever words.
Lex turned his chair, rising to his feet.
“Tell me Clark, what devilish activity did you have me down for today?
“(Y/N)’s secret.”
Lex’s body became tense. Rather than admit that he knew, he decided to play oblivious. That could have meant any number of things. He wouldn’t be the one to accidentally tell Clark about your powers. You trusted him. Clark would literally have to beat it out of him if he wanted to get a word.
“Is that supposed to mean something to me?”
Clark brows furrowed for a second, like he was trying so desperately to read him. But Lex was firm.
“He’s actually protecting her…”
Clark had always been weary telling anyone about his powers. But watching Lex physically and verbally keep your secret, it brought a sharp pang to his chest. Because he couldn't help wondering if he told Lex, maybe he could have saved the friendship and gained a powerful ally.
“(Y/N) is an empath, she can control and read the emotions of those around her.”
His surprise was hard to mask. Lex just turned his back.
“If you’re going to make up stories, you’re going to have to do better than that.”
“She told me everything Lex. She used her powers on those men when they attacked the building. The both of you were hiding in a closet. She told me that you risked your life for her.”
Lex turned slowly, eyes a bit combative. But he knew. At that point he realized that it was obvious you’d told Clark everything.
“I didn’t know..that day I didn’t know she had powers. Even when we were in that closet she just kept yelling at me. I know it was partly your influence. I was pissed that she was judging me even when we were potentially about to die. I was pissed but I..then I looked at her and she was so scared and all I wanted to do at that moment was to save her even if she hated me. She didn’t deserve to die.”
Clark thought he imagined it that day in your house, but now watching Lex, it was hard to hide.
“You care about her.”
Those words felt like knives. Lex raised his head so quickly, and Clark spotted the panic. Like it was a secret no one was supposed to discover.
“You have no right to tell her..”
There was a vulnerability to his words, and Clark felt sympathetic. Because that look on his face wasn’t truly panic. It was more one of fear. Fear of losing someone. He knows because he’s probably worn it a million times.
Lex swallowed, trying to school his features into something that looked less pathetic. Like he wasn’t horrified that the second you learned of his feelings you wouldn’t turn tail and run.
Clark had an entire speech planned. He was about to head over there and tell Lex that if he ever hurt you, then he’d be sorry. But looking at Lex now, a part of him just wanted to offer some reassurance. He understands that Lex has a short list of people he can rely on. Trust isn’t easy. There’s a lot that wasn’t easy for him.
Love was very high on that list.
Looking at Lex, he could easily say it was the first time he’d seen him wear such an expression.
“You should tell her how you feel.”
Those weren’t the words that Lex was expecting. Clark just wore an understanding look.
He’d done his part.
Of course he was going to keep an eye on Lex. But as of right now, the only threat was probably Lex’s conflicting mind.
That wasn’t something Clark could fix.
Lex would have to figure it out on his own.

What other shows are you into, if any? 🥰
hi Ally <3
so besides MASH im into tons and tons!! ill just list some off the top of my head-
Cowboy Bebop: just finished rewatching this one, I wanted my dad to watch it. im a big anime fan, this one is high up on my list of favourites, its a classic! I even recommend it to non-anime fans because the gorgeous animation, compelling characters and story, and unique world building are just soooooooo good
Mob Psycho 100: hey. hey wanna watch something truly fucking bizarre and unique. wanna watch something that feels like going through therapy. want to cry your eyes out to the most unexpected anime dude of all time. boy do I have a show for you. MP100 makes me unreasonably emotional and I think everyone should watch it
Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood: my favourite anime of all time nothing else comes even close. I could write an essay on why FMAB should be required viewing. I wish everyone could experience watching it as a kid and going back to it as an adult and having your entire perspective and understanding shift because suddenly youre older than the main characters and shit is so much more horrifying than when you were the same age/younger
Gargoyles: what im currently watching. also a big cartoon fan. Gargoyles is such a wonderful product of the mid-90s and I adore it. I grew up on 80s and 90s cartoon so everything from the lore to the character designs is very nostalgic to me. I need to watch the last season still but I keep putting it off cause I know the quality dips
Avatar the Last Airbender: next show im picking for my dad and I to watch. I unironically consider it to be one of the best stories ever written, with some fantastic characters and what continues to be one of my favourite redemption arcs of all time
Batman the Animated Series: best Batman. no question. I do not accept criticism. I did watch Justice League + Justice League Unlimited with my dad recently and I quite enjoyed those, but nowhere near as much as I enjoyed BtAS. Kevin Conroy I miss you every day nobody understood Bruce Wayne like you did
Doctor Who: both Classic and New Who. we have a free streaming service with a Classic Who channel, and we've had the DVDs for New Who playing lately. my favourite show of all time! meant the world to me as a teenager and got me through a lot. I have a tattoo of 11's sonic and bowtie <3
Smallville: my dad did a rewatch of this recently and I was around for most of it. and listen, ok, Smallville is a cringe fest a lot of the time. its an early 2000s CW show. but its ironically still my favourite depiction of Clark Kent and Lex Luthor, and honestly probably my favourite Lois Lane
Star Trek: various Trek shows. TOS is currently playing a lot in the house, which I have seen all of and adore, but im also a huge TNG fan even though i. havent finished it. haha. Ive also seen most of Voyager and quite enjoyed it. at some point ill get to DS9 probably
The X-Files: another one I havent rewatched in years but think about often. X-Files truly had it all. not a day goes by that I dont think about Jose Chung's from Outer Space. this was the first show to make me physically grind my teeth and scream into a pillow over a slowburn
I have more but these are what I can remember off the top of my head and what I would rewatch! im big into shows and movies so I watch a lottttttt. shoutout to some other shows ive loved like Lucifer, the Mandalorian, Kenobi, Buffy the Vampire Slayer/Angel the Series, Schitt's Creek, The Owl House, Violet Evergarden, and others im sure im forgetting
#ty Ally!!#I need to finish Gargoyles#I also need to finish TNG#im not letting myself rewatch something until I finish TNG#(and by something I mean. MASH.)

THE CW NETWORK SETS SUPER TUESDAYS THIS SPRING AS “SUPERMAN & LOIS” RETURNS AND “GOTHAM KNIGHTS” DEBUTS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 2023
“Superman & Lois” Season Three Takes Flight at 8:00pm ET/PT
New Heroes Will Rise When “Gotham Knights” Premieres at 9:00pm ET/PT
The CW Network today announced the third season of the hit drama SUPERMAN & LOIS—the network’s most-watched series of 2022—will premiere on Tuesday, March 14, 2023 (8:00-9:00pm ET/PT), followed by the series debut of GOTHAM KNIGHTS (9:00-10:00pm ET/PT).
“The new season of The CW’s biggest show SUPERMAN & LOIS alongside our most exciting new series GOTHAM KNIGHTS will make Tuesdays a can’t-miss night of action,” said Brad Schwartz, President, Entertainment, The CW Network. “With the iconic characters and gritty streets that everyone knows, fans will experience the best season yet of SUPERMAN & LOIS and be introduced to a hunted group of crime fighters out for vengeance, following in Batman’s footsteps on GOTHAM KNIGHTS.”
In GOTHAM KNIGHTS, Batman is dead, and a powder keg has ignited Gotham City without the Dark Knight to protect it. In the wake of Bruce Wayne’s murder, his adopted son Turner Hayes (Oscar Morgan) is framed for killing the Caped Crusader, along with the children of some of Batman’s enemies: Duela (Olivia Rose Keegan), an unpredictable fighter and skilled thief who was born in Arkham Asylum and abandoned by her father, Harper Row (Fallon Smythe), a streetwise and acerbic engineer who can fix anything, and her brother Cullen Row (Tyler DiChiara), a clever transgender teen who is tired of being polite and agreeable. With the charismatic and hard-charging District Attorney Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) and the GCPD hot on their trail, Turner will rely on allies including his best friend and formidable coder Stephanie Brown (Anna Lore), and unlikely Batman sidekick Carrie Kelley (Navia Robinson). But our Knights will soon learn there is a larger, more nefarious force at work within Gotham City. This team of mismatched fugitives must band together to become its next generation of saviors known as the GOTHAM KNIGHTS.
From Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, GOTHAM KNIGHTS is written by Chad Fiveash, James Stoteraux and Natalie Abrams. Fiveash and Stoteraux serve as showrunners and executive produce the series alongside Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Leigh London Redman. Abrams also serves as co-executive producer. Danny Cannon directed and served as an executive producer on the pilot, along with David Madden. GOTHAM KNIGHTS is based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger.
Season three of SUPERMAN & LOIS opens weeks after Superman’s blowout defeat of Ally Allston. Clark (Tyler Hoechlin) and Lois (Elizabeth Tulloch) are now working at the Smallville Gazette together and enjoying small town life. But the Kents’ romantic bliss only shines a light on how isolating “the secret” can be, as Chrissy (Sofia Hasmik) struggles to balance a new love interest and her friendship with Lois. However, Lois’ own work-life balance is put to the test when an undercover assignment reveals a deadly foe that promises to change the Kent family forever. Superman would move heaven and earth for his family, but with a villain this merciless, even that might not be enough. Meanwhile, the Kent boys find themselves being pulled in opposite directions as Jordan (Alex Garfin) discovers what a superhero-identity really means and Jonathan (Michael Bishop) searches for purpose beyond the football field. Amid all this upheaval, John Henry (Wolé Parks) is haunted by his doppelgänger’s past, leading to dangerous consequences for him and Natalie (Tayler Buck). Lana Lang (Emmanuelle Chriqui) and Kyle (Erik Valdez) redefine their family post-separation, while Sarah (Inde Navarrette) explores what the future holds for her and Jordan now that she knows the truth about his powers. Having learned the hard way that no one else can be trusted to work with Superman, General Samuel Lane (Dylan Walsh) reclaims his post at the Department of Defense, only to face his own conflict in working with his grandson, Jordan.
Based on the characters from DC created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, SUPERMAN & LOIS is from Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television, with executive producers Greg Berlanti, Todd Helbing, Sarah Schechter, Brent Fletcher, and Geoff Johns.
TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 2023
8:00-9:00pm SUPERMAN & LOIS (Season 3 Premiere)
9:00-10:00pm GOTHAM KNIGHTS (Series Premiere)

Look, kids, taking over the Fed Ex to get the government to change the TMI chart to make you feel like you have a big corn cob only makes people who want to ship things and make copies hate you and your cause. Did the Bud Lite boycott teach you nothing about gathering allies by finding a common ground and achieving your goals without inconveniencing anyone else except those directly involved with marketing beer to children?
And on the other side of things I'm done telling y'all about screen capture. Mostly because when I went to the brick and mortar library and knew I couldn't finish a book before I had to return it, nor could I renew because there was a waiting list, I made other arrangements.
Thank you past Little Walken because if you didn't know how to use a flat bed you'd have spent the past nearly 20 years searching to replace a couple of things that were stolen, lost in the pile that got wet, or as you have recently discovered taken and hidden by someone else.
Listen to your internet elders who have faced the BSoD and recovered.
le sigh
Kind of done with the rewatch of Smallville and kind of have to look thru the episode summaries and might have to dig the DVDs out again to see a scene.
I do like the idea of rewriting the cowboy story from someone else's point of view and perhaps making it more citrus flavored. I do like the idea of Lemonade for Lois being the title of something.
The other story is pulling its self together, I think I need to take note of the scenarios then structure them in to a time line. Definitely going to go with an idea for The Traveler and Veritas but far less Lionel murders everyone else.
I think I'll watch something Beetlejuice related. I definitely watched the cartoons, that is Alyson Court from the Big Comfy Couch as the voice of Lydia.
EVERYONE DIES!

Not alone in the spotlight
Lucy Lane x Male Reader
Request - Lucy Lane (Superman and Lois version) x male!reader where y/n is Clark's brother. The story starts where Lucy was in a low point in her life where she lost her job and her fiance. So instead of Lucy staying with Ally, she stayed with y/n. Lucy develops feeling for him but is afraid to get her heart broken. Clark questions about a hickey on his neck.
It's raining hard with thunderstorms and Y/n is sleeping. He heard someone knock on the door but he thought it was a dream. A minute later, he kept hearing the door now he goes out of bed. He opened the door and he is in shock, it’s Lucy Lane and she is soaked.
“Come in. What the hell, Lucy” Y/n said.
“I didn’t know where else to go. And I’m not in good terms with Lois” Lucy said.
“I’m just glad you didn’t go back to Ally. Wait here, I will grab a towel” Y/n said.
Lucy starts to shiver and he went to get the towel. He gave her the towel and she starts to dry her face.
“Thanks,” Lucy said.
“Lucy, what is going on,” Y/n said.
“I hit rock bottom, Y/n. I don't know who am I anymore. Feels like, I'm in a rabbit hole and I don't know how to get out of it” Lucy said.
“Stay the night and I will put the hot water on for you. I don't want you to feel alone and I will always be here for you. I will help you get through it” Y/n said.
“Yeah,” Lucy said.
Y/n went to turn on the hot water for her. Then he gave Lucy, his pajamas and a bathrobe and she went to take a shower. She comes out and you are making tea for her.
“Does your sister know that you are here?” Y/n asked.
“Actually, she doesn't know that I'm back in Smallville,” Lucy said.
“Oh... Do you want her to know?” Y/n said.
“I will tell her soon. Are you making tea?” Lucy said.
“Yeah, I made tea. I don't want you to get sick” Y/n said.
“Thank you, Y/n,” Lucy said in a low voice.
He placed the tea in front of her and she starts to drink it. A bit later, in the bedroom, you make space for her on the bed.
“You can sleep here and I will sleep in the living room,” Y/n said.
“Please stay, Y/n. I don't want to sleep alone” Lucy said.
“Yeah, sure. I will grab an extra blanket” Y/n said.
She lies in bed and he comes back with the extra blanket. They are lying next to each other and they don't say anything, they just go to sleep.
------
Y/n drives to Clark’s farm and Lucy is in the jeep. She texted Lois that she is back in town, Clark thought it would be a good idea to have a family dinner together.
“It will be fine,” Y/n said.
“I did miss everyone,” Lucy said.
They get out of the jeep. Lois hugged Lucy and they are happy to see each other. Jon and Jordan are happy to see their uncle Y/n, they gave him fives. Later, Y/n helped Clark spend time together with the boys. Lucy and Lois wanted to talk alone together, then they started to yell at each other.
“I lost everything! I lost my career, my fiance, and myself!” Lucy yelled.
“I tried to being there for you! But you kept pushing me, dad, and anyone who tried to help you. I still want to be there for you, but please don't go back to Ally is very dangerous” Lois said.
“I’m not going back to Ally, I swear,” Lucy said.
Lois hugged her sister tight. Y/n played football with Jonathan and Jordan then Y/n went to check up on Lucy.
-------
Lucy is still living with Y/n and he likes having her around the apartment. But Y/n and Lucy developed a friend-with-benefits relationship. She did develop feelings for him but she is scared to get closer to Y/n. She does wonder if Y/n does have feelings for her.
Y/n agreed to be the football equipment manager to help Clark. They are watching the boys play football then Clark noticed something on Y/n’s neck.
“Y/n, what is on your neck? Is that a hickey?” Clark asked.
“I don't know what you are talking about,” Y/n said.
“Oh wow, that is a hickey. Wait, you have a new girlfriend and you didn't tell me!?” Clark said.
“Focus on the team,” Y/n said.
Y/n pulls up his collar to hide the hickeys and Clark just laughed. They are close brothers but Y/n doesn't want to tell anyone that he is having sex with Lucy.
“I will figure it out,” Clark said.
“Whatever, Clark and you won't find out,” Y/n said.
Y/n continued to help Clark during football practice.
✬ ✫ ✯ ✬
Y/n has been trying to help Lucy feel better about herself. Lucy is home watching a movie then suddenly Y/n comes through the door with a Christmas tree and he has on a Santa hat.
“Wow, Y/n” Lucy laughed.
“Hey, Lucy. Well, I actually thought we can decorate a tree together. And I thought we can bring color into the apartment” Y/n smiled.
“I guess we can do that. But we don't have Christmas ornaments” Lucy said.
“I got that covered. Shall we get started?” Y/n smiled.
Lucy couldn't help to smile and she said yes. Y/n takes out the fake tree from the box and Lucy starts to open the boxes of ornaments. Now they start to set the tree in the living room. Lucy is putting the led lights on it.
“I knew this will be fun with you,” Y/n said.
“It is fun. But you have bad taste in Christmas ornaments” Lucy giggled.
“I like that one of Garfield wearing a hat,” Y/n said.
“Such a dork” Lucy giggled.
Now they start to put the ornaments on the tree. Lucy is really having a good time and can't stop smiling. They take a selfie by the tree and they continue to decorate the tree.
Y/n leans in and kissed her on the lips. She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and she starts to kiss him back.
“Lucy, I'm in love with you,” Y/n said.
She puts her hand on his cheek.
“I have feelings for you too... But I don't want to get my heart broken again” Lucy said.
“We can take it slow. I don't want you to get in a relationship with me when you don't feel you are ready. I will wait for you, Lucy” Y/n said.
Lucy kissed him again.
“You are so good to me,” Lucy said.
He hugged her and kissed her head, she holds him for a few seconds more.
------
Before Y/n and Lucy go see Lois and Clark, they are doing last-minute Christmas shopping. Once they entered the house, everyone hugs them. Y/n is helping Lois in the kitchen.
“Y/n, do you know if Lucy is dating someone?” Lois asked.
“Dating someone?” Y/n asked.
“I noticed that Lucy has hickeys on her neck and she smiles more when she gets a text. I asked her but she didn't give me a straight answer” Lois said.
“I don't know if she is dating someone,” Y/n said.
“Can you find out for me? I don't want to see her heart get broken again” Lois said.
“Okay, I will try to find out,” Y/n said.
“Thank you. I owe you one, Y/n” Lois smiled.
“Sure...” Y/n said.
Lois and Clark start to set up the table. Y/n is still in the kitchen and Lucy walked in, he told Lucy what he and Lois talked about. He put his hands on her waist and she starts to smile.
“I like sneaking around with you,” Lucy said.
“Me too” Y/n smiled.
She starts to kiss him, she starts to smile and he put his hands on her ass. Then Jonathan and Jordan walked into the kitchen...
“No way!” Jonathan and Jordan said very loud
Lucy and Y/n moved away from each other.
“Don’t tell your parents” Y/n said.
“We won't tell unless...” Jonathan smirked.
“Unless, what?” Lucy asked.
“Give us fifty dollars and we won't tell anyone,” Jordan said.
Lucy and Y/n looked at each other.
“Each. Give us fifty dollars each” Jonathan said.
“Fine,” Y/n said.
Y/n takes out his wallet and gives them fifty dollars each. Jonathan and Jordan start to smile at each other and they leave the kitchen.
After dinner, everyone starts to open the gifts. The boys didn't tell their parents about their uncle Y/n kissing Lucy. Y/n did buy Lucy a gift and she liked the necklace. Clark and Lois still have no idea that Lucy and Y/n like each other.
✬ ✫ ✯ ✬
Y/n took Lucy to the city for the week. Lucy still wants to take it slow with Y/n before rushing into a relationship. Y/n will still wait for her and he is okay taking it slow. But tonight, Lucy and Y/n went ice skating, and they are holding hands while they ice skated.
“Having fun?” Y/n asked.
“Yeah, I'm having fun. I haven't ice skated since I was a teenager” Lucy said.
“When I first ice skated, I fell a lot that I sprained my wrist,” Y/n said.
“Oh, that's not fun. But don't you heal faster?” Lucy said.
“At the time no. It was my first time on earth so it took a while for me to get used to being on earth and using my powers” Y/n said.
“Oh,” Lucy said.
They skated for a while then they went to get something to eat. Lucy surprised Y/n with a kiss and they smiled at each other. But he did kiss her back then they head back to the hotel and they watch the fireworks together.

Genuine question, since you seem to be a prolific Superbat enthusiastic. Why do so many Superbat fans disrespect Clark so much? 🤷♀️
Whenever I see Superbat posts in the Clark/Superman tag most of them ignore his history, his trauma, personality, his family/friends/allies [Lois, his parents, other Justice League members, Jimmy, Kara, Perry, John Henry, Pete, Steve, Cat and etc] his city, his children, [Conner, Chris, Mia, and Jon] and mythos.
It seems people are only interested in Bruce's character and his family. Also, most Superbat fans strike me as being an odd combination of being homophobic, heteronormative, and misogynistic and sometimes even abusive! Very crazy combo, but that's how it seems to me from looking at the majority of works.
For example, people typically make Bruce the bottom or feminine one. When realistically they would be switches. Yet, overwhelmingly all the work is dedicated to "Brucie Wanye." Even though most of the time his true personality is a cold, macho, caring man. Heck, I see Clark being more the bottom type, since he's a very loving partner, and he enjoys being taken care of. You know he's definitely getting pegged by Lois.
Which brings me to the lack of care towards Lois, where she is either villainized or not made to be an important person in Clark's live. Regardless of ships and platonic/romantic feelings, Lois is Clark's closest friend. Yet, none of that is rarely displaced in fanart, headcanons, and fics. Yet, Bruce's people are always made sure to be included.
Also, what's with the influx of evil Superman and poor innocent babyboy Batman. Look I like some dark tropes too, and I wouldn't mind so much if we at least kept the same treatment with both parties. Instead of only favoring one person.
It's deeply upsetting and disturbing to see the kindest original hero immigrant aka the champion of the oppressed. To be used for such weird, oc, fetishistic works. Again, it's odd to due Batman having so much privilege and is known for being very controlling, yet it's never displayed in these darker takes. Batman is a good man, but can have troubling qualities, as all good characters have. Clark has his darker attributes too, but that’s okay as long as it presented fairly.
Lastly, Clark and Bruce have a close friendship. Yet, again I see no one making art/fics about Clark's other close relationships. But, everyone seems to be a huge fan of being a multishipper for Bruce. Example being Selina, Talia, Joker, Harvey, Ghostmaker, Hal, Barry, Arthur, Diana, and etc. Seems to be to be a bit biased no, for fans that claim to love Clark and ship Superbat have no problem doing this for Bruce.
Where's the love for other Clark ships like Lois, Lana, Lex, John Corben, Brainiac 5, Hal, Arthur, Diana, Barry, Maxima, Volcana, Blanque, and etc.
Also, it's not really special that Clark recognizes Bruce's heartbeat as the go to Superbat trope. He does that with everyone like again to list Lois, his parents, his children, his villains, his friends both in the Justice League, at the Daily Planet, and in Smallville. Heck, he's even given Jimmy his own personal watch to call him!
Sorry, this is a lot. I didn't mean to type so much, but I didn't want to use multiple asks. I also want you to know I'm not attacking you personally. Some of the text posts and art I looked up on your blog are awesome! ❤️ Keep up the good work! I just sincerely want to know why there's such a strong bias in Superbat. I personally, do like the pairing as long as they are both treated like equals.
Thank you, for reading this and have a great day! 🌟
Ok uhhh wow this one is a lot. I’ll break it down under the cut.
But first lemme say that thanks for complimenting my blog! Glad you are enjoying it. But for future reference, if you want to complain about something you don't really like about a ship or fandom maybe consider making your own post about it. Cus I know your intentions were good but going to a superbat blog and saying “this is everything I dislike about superbat!!” comes off pretty rude. I could stop there but I’ll address your questions/points because why not and I’m a glutton for punishment,,
So first off, and this is what I’m gonna end up repeating throughout this post, I understand your frustration at parts of Clark's mythos not being explored more in superbat fic/art but a lot of what it comes down is just that uh. Some people know more about batman mythos! And some people know more about superman mythos! It doesn’t really mean that they like/respect one character more than the other.. people are just interested in different comics lol. For example I rely a lot on my wonderful superman mutuals (hello @/blorb-el :] ) for info about Clark and his lore because I just haven’t read as many superman comics.. doesn’t mean I like Clark less. Just means I like sci-fi less…
As for this I have no idea what most of it means lol but like I said, telling a blog that you know likes superbat that superbat fans are “homophobic and abusive” is pretty rude for obvious reasons…
Now uh there’s a lot to unpack with this lol. Long story short, top/bottom preferences dont really have anything to do with personality. And as for “realistically they’d switch” yeah I personally see them as switches too! But there’s no “correct” way of imagining how a fictional character has gay sex lol. People are just gonna have their preferences for what they like to see and most of the times they dont have/need a specific reason for them. Also: this is gonna be a big theme when it comes to my response to you because my advice? Utilize tags. Cus uh if you check the tags for “bottom Clark” and “bottom Bruce” in the superbat tag on ao3 -
There isn’t exactly a dearth of bottom Clark works. There’s plenty great ones out there
As for this, some of it is going to be because ppl maybe dont know as much about Lois as they do other characters, and some of it is yeah misogyny lol I won’t lie to you. But to be honest I haven’t seen any Lois bashing in fics or fanwork since like the mid 2010s. So I cant tell if this complaint is in good faith or not. Either way I still dont know why you’re telling it to me..
Lmao this one. First rule of fandom is that people are going to write weird, ooc fetishistic fics purely for the sake of writing weird, ooc fetishistic fics. Its fanfiction, its not like they’re official DC stories - they dont have to be accurate. I understand your frustration if you’re seeing a dynamic you dont like a lot but, again, I would advise you to utilize tagging + filtering to your advantage. The reality of fandom is you’re going to see interpretations of a character that you don’t like. And what you do is simply don’t read what you don’t like. Its not always that deep.
Again! You just! Have! To look! For creators! That are more into! Superman comics! (@/sully-s has a lot of cute Jimmy + Lois/Clois art if you’re interested) Like I’m not a Batman multishipper because I want to personally spite Clark Kent, I’m a Batman multishipper because I’ve read a LOT of Batman comics lol. Like I’m gonna level with you I have no idea who John Corben or Blanque or Volcana even are. But I know there are probably plenty of people who ship superbat who have no idea who Minhkhoa Khan or Silver St. Cloud or Andrea Beaumont are!! And that doesn’t mean they hate Bruce it just means they don’t feel like reading 80 years of Batman comics which!! Is fair!!
As for this part I dont have any advice or suggestions this is just rude. “Hey that popular trope you like is stupid!” Ok! You’re allowed to think that, I get it honestly. But, again, I don’t know why you felt the need to send that opinion to a blog that you know likes superbat. Like its not exactly a question, its just something you dont like lol
In conclusion my advice is: use filtering! use tagging! If you’re good at searching for stuff you can pretty consistently avoid ships/dynamics you dont like! I do this all the time. And for next time, maybe remember that fandom isn’t curated to your personal tastes automatically - you have to curate it yourself, and thats no one else’s job but your own.
#anon tag...#allgremlinasks#LONG post. under cut#because I was a Model UN kid so I have a crippling compulsion to address almost everything someone says...

General Question to Superbat Fans
Why do some superbat fans disrespect Clark so much? 🤷♀️
Whenever I see superbat posts in the Clark/Superman tag most of them ignore his history, his trauma, personality, his family/friends/allies [Lois, his parents, other Justice League members, Jimmy, Kara, Perry, John Henry, Pete, Steve, Cat and etc] his city, his children, [Conner, Chris, Mia, and Jon] and general mythos.
It seems people are only interested in Bruce's character and his family. The general vibe I get looking into this fandom is an odd combination of being heteronormative [strict top/bottom debate], misogyny [Lois, Selina, Talia, Diana, Lana] and sometimes even highly abusive! [Evil Clark but no Evil Bruce] It's a very crazy combo, but that's how it seems to me from looking at the majority of works.
For example, people typically make Bruce the bottom or feminine one. When realistically they would be switches. Yet, overwhelmingly all the work is dedicated to "Brucie Wanye." Even though most of the time his true personality is a cold, macho, caring man. Heck, I see Clark preferring more the bottom role. But, why the strictness when it comes to these positions?
To my other point I'm personally going to focus on Lois since, I prefer Superman's stories more than Batman. Anyways, this brings me to the lack of care towards Lois, where she is either villainized or not made to be an important person in Clark's live.
Look I like dark tropes, fluff, and all in between. I wouldn't mind the dark stuff so much if we at least kept the same treatment with both parties. Instead of only favoring one person.
To me and I'm sure many other people, it's deeply upsetting and disturbing to see the kindest original hero immigrant aka the champion of the oppressed. To be used for such weird, oc, fetishistic works.
Again, it's odd due to Batman having so much privilege and is known for being very controlling, yet it's never displayed in these darker takes. Batman is a good man, and can have troubling qualities, as all good characters have. Clark has his darker attributes too, but that’s okay as long as it presented fairly. Which from the looks of things isn't in this fandom.
Also, just want to point out it's not really special that Clark recognizes Bruce's heartbeat as the go to superbat trope. He does that with everyone like again to list Lois, his parents, his children, his friends both in the Justice League, at the Daily Planet, and in Smallville. Heck, he's even given Jimmy his own personal watch to call him!
This is not an attack towards anyone's preferences. I just sincerely want to know why there's such a strong bias in superbat. It's so overwhelming, this disparity. I personally, do like superbat as long as they are both treated like equals.
***TLDR
I’m tired of Clark Kent being used as a tool to prop Bruce or the batfamily, rather than a true equal.
It just seems to me everything that makes Clark a beautiful character, with his engaging personality, mythos, and family/friends were thrown under the bus for the superbat ship.
To me a ship or an OTP should be an additional expansion and fun for both characters. Not a definite favoritism towards one person in the majority of content.
If you like one character in a pairing a lot, why wouldn’t you want to know more about their partner? It just doesn’t make sense to have an extreme bias. Again, this is in reference to the majority of superbat shippers, not to anyone personally.
Thank you, for reading this and have a great day! 🌟

My opinion: Batman is one of the most down-to-earth heroes in DC Comics
Batman, The World’s Greatest Detective. He is the hero that is always ten steps ahead. He can profile you just by observing your daily routine. That’s how goated he is. He is a master in martial arts and has a budget to create and maintain his many gadgets, including his car. He is one of the most brilliant people in DC comics. There are many reasons to heed Batman’s warning, but I feel like people just think Batman is crazy. While he is not perfect, listening to him could save the world. His warnings would save the world because he uses logic and his knowledge to make those warnings.
One reason I believe Batman is the most down-to-earth hero is his past. As we all know, Bruce is of the Wayne fortune; the dude literally grew up as the only child on a vast estate. His parents, Thomas and Martha Wayne, took him to see a movie, and Thomas took them down to Crime Ally to meet Alfred. In that ally, Bruce’s parents were gunned down in front of him by a random criminal on the street. That alone is pretty traumatizing for an 8-year-old boy who had never been on the road. When he became an adult, he made sure to learn martial arts and everything he could about how to solve complex crimes as a detective. He also spent every night on the streets, watching these criminals and taking notes. One traumatic experience on the streets of Gotham shook his entire world. If that criminal didn’t gun down his parents, he would have never got to experience what it was really like in Gotham City. He wouldn’t go on to witness the corruption and disturbingly high crime levels. Superman, or Clark Kent, crashed on Earth in a little ship when he was a baby, and he had an everyday life in Smallville. Compared to Bruce as a child, Clark didn’t really experience crime as he did. So, when comparing the two, Superman seems very much out-of-touch with what city life is like.
When you think about it, heroes like Superman and Wonder Woman are literally in the clouds. When they see a crime, they swoop down, stop the criminals, and leave. Meanwhile, Batman is on a rooftop scooping out the scene. He thwarts the criminals, chases them for a bit, beats them down, and interrogates the last one standing to get information. These are two different styles of crime fighting that I’ve noticed, and it is because of Batman’s different kind that makes him unique. Does Superman watch criminals from the shadows? No, Batman does. Watching from the shadows allows Batman to properly observe criminals in their natural habitat. He sees how they act, their usual routines, and the places they target, and he hears their conversations. Those criminals usually work for prominent villains like Two-Face or the Joker. Listening to those conversations will help him be able to predict the next big plan to wreak havoc on Gotham. He understands that even the tiny muggings can lead to something bigger and more threatening. You don’t see Superman thinking about these things, he’s just the guy with super-strength stopping any crime he sees, or he’s in the Watch Tower.
This brings me to my next point. When I think of Wonder Woman and Superman and basically any hero that can fly, I think of people in the sky. Batman even says it in the animated movie Justice League Dark. In it, citizens in places like Gotham and Metropolis commit heinous crimes, but they all claim that they saw monsters and had to act. In a meeting about the matter, Superman and Wonder Woman suggested that they may be dealing with magic or something that causes hallucinations. Batman disagreed and said that people were just crazy. The League had encountered magic before, and even members had magical abilities. Still, they assumed that they were good people. There were good points on both sides, and Batman was wrong in the end; however, I see where Batman came from. Superman and Wonder Woman weren’t on the streets like Batman was. He was even created by a traumatic experience on the streets of Gotham. In this perspective, people are not always who they say they are. He saw them as people who needed help, of course, but he didn’t just assume that there wasn’t something going on psychologically.
Batman is not perfect, he’s been in the wrong before, and he’s even represented the antagonist ideal in some stories. But we can’t deny that his head is on the ground instead of the clouds. Which is one thing that makes him my favorite superhero. Superman is incredible, and this post is not to bash The Man of Steel. I’m just saying that he doesn’t think about the things Batman thinks about. Batman sees the bigger picture; he can sniff out corruption from the Batcave. Batman may be bleak and depressing sometimes, but he knows what he’s talking about.

I have heard ppl complain about Lois lacking a proper, focused arc in s2 and I agree. For the first few episodes she had a lot of interesting things going on in terms of the Gazette and Chrissy, Natelie, Ally and Lucy. This SHOULD have been a big Lois season. So much material for her. Not mention that we could have gotten some great mom moments from her given everything going on with the boys, but apart from her moments with Jordan in 2x09, the show didn’t do much with that either. It’s just such a waste.
I haven’t managed to watch all of s1, so I don’t know much about how she is utelized there, so I am not going to compare. But I know she had arcs related to Morgan Egde, adjusting to Smallville, Chrissy and the Gazette, the mines and JHI. In the last two episodes she did her broadcast and helped save Jordan.
I wonder if Nadria Tucker being fired is one of the main reasons for this. Her tweets imply that she had to fight for storylines for the female characters. Maybe after she was gone those who agreed with her didn’t dare fight as hard (she said in an interview that she WASN’T the only woc in the writing room, so she properly wasn’t the only one that cared or understood why everything she was trying to fight for mattered - not that only WoC care about equality and representation, but when you are personally affected by certain issues you tend to be more aware of them, even though it doens’t necissarily make you an expert or free of blindspots and biases).

Character Primaries (the "WHY") & Sources of Narrative Conflict
Conflict in fiction provides tension, stakes, and perhaps most importantly room for growth and change.
This series of posts will take a look at narrative conflict and how to define, track, codify, and cause it using @sortinghatchats Primary House sortings.
(Unfamiliar with Sorting Hat Chats? Check out a broader overview of our system here.)
Let's start with...
CONFLICT BETWEEN CHARACTER AND SELF
The conflict here is a disconnect between what a character does and what they think they should be doing.
Framing characters this way gives us a potential and a direction for growth and change. If you start your story with a character who is falling short of their own expectations, it can be particularly satisfying to see them grow and reach those expectations by the end.
For instance, Jason Grace of Rick Riordan’s The Heroes of Olympus books is a Hufflepuff Primary who leaves an insular childhood in a Roman camp of demigods and finds himself meeting a larger and larger world. While he’d been satisfied with his original home and community, he’s faced with new waves of people, magical creatures, and even gods to sympathize with and consider.
Jason had known his place in his first community, but much of his journey in the series is finding a way to express his Hufflepuff ideals of fairness and empathy in a world that is so much bigger and more populated than he’d understood. As Jason grows more aware of the larger world, it’s a burden he lays on himself to rise up and meet the world with the evenhanded compassion he expects of himself.
Sarah, the protagonist of Orphan Black, is also an example of a character struggling with their own self and their own morality.
Sarah, con artist and Slytherin Primary, begins the story devoted to her young daughter. However, she has a long history of failing to properly prioritize and protect her daughter-- a failure of a loyal Slytherin's moral code.
Among the show’s government conspiracies and genetic engineering plots. one of Sarah’s main challenges is living up to her own Slytherin standards of loyalty and devotion, and properly being there for her child.
Jason and Sarah are both positive examples of characters who succeed in growing to meet their own expectations-- but watching a character be forced to edit, reinvigorate, or fail to meet their own moral code can be satisfying in different ways.
The standards a character holds themself to, and the ways in which they fail and succeed at meeting those standards, can drive a character’s inner and outer journey.
CONFLICT BETWEEN CHARACTER AND CHARACTER
When characters have different moral frameworks, they can disagree on what and how to prioritize, and ultimately which decisions to make.
Where a Slytherin Primary values their own wellbeing and the wellbeing of their closest allies first and foremost, a Ravenclaw follows the ideals they have considered and decided upon, even at the expense of themself and their friends. To a Ravenclaw Primary, this sacrifice is moral. To a Slytherin Primary, it’s wrong to abandon your own.
This basic disconnect of morality, if pushed into an ultimatum, can lead to irreconcilable conflict between your characters without sacrificing your readers’ ability to empathize with both sides.
A Resonance of Conflict
You can also generate conflict between characters with the same basic moral framework—the same Primary. It’s important here to emphasize that Primaries define a moral framework, not the actual contents of that morality.
Characters with the same basic framework—a Gryffindor’s faith in an inner moral compass, for instance—can still have wildly different views on right and wrong.
In the fourth season of the animated series The Legend of Korra, the main hero/antagonist pair are two Gryffindor Primaries.
Korra, our protagonist, faces off against Kuvira, a powerful, assured general with a strong vision for a united Earth Kingdom. They both come by their moralities through a strong moral compass, internal certainty, and a certain ethical stubbornness– but Korra is the maturer of the two Gryffindors, less arrogant, more selfless, more humble.
The season uses bold, brash Kuvira to show how far Korra has come from the similarly bold, brash girl of season one, whose thoughtlessness left damage in her wake.
Cooperation is as important as conflict in a story.
Characters supplement and strengthen each other—for instance, a Gryffindor Primary intent on a crusade might be backed up by a Slytherin who doesn’t feel strongly about the crusade, but nonetheless has skin in the game because they love the Gryffindor and want to keep them safe.
A Ravenclaw might decide on the same style of community-based morality as a Hufflepuff, reaching the same conclusions from disparate paths.
It can add a diversity and nuance to the various stakes and motivations in your story to have characters take different paths to reach similar conclusions. It can make your world and your characters feel more complex and real.
Commiseration turns to Chaos
Your characters might also begin the story holding the same beliefs, but then disagree and grow apart as the story pushes them into situations that challenge those beliefs.
For instance, a Slytherin Primary’s loyalty-based morality requires them to stand by those they love. A Gryffindor who also values community and loyalty, perhaps, might make those same decisions.
But forced into a more extreme situation, where a Slytherin might continue standing steadfast, a Gryffindor could make a different moral choice, blindsiding the Slytherin who thought they were on the same page.
This sort of conflict can add feelings of surprise and betrayal while keeping a consistent characterization.
In Smallville, Gryffindor Clark Kent and Slytherin Lex Luthor become friends in Clark’s youth, before their inevitable eventual rivalry as adults. It’s this Primary divide that drives them apart in the show.
Lex bonds hard to Clark with all of a young, healthy Slytherin’s generosity. Clark returns the affection, but when push comes to shove he’s a Gryffindor. He’ll do what’s right before he does what’s right by Lex, no matter how much he likes his friend.
Lex sees this as betrayal, long before Clark is actually willing to act directly against him. Similarly, Clark sees Lex’s partisanship as a growing sign of evil or untrustworthiness, especially as Lex builds more walls between them.
Younger and less experienced characters are more likely to be blindsided by this sort of Primary mismatch. This might be the first time they are forced to recognize their inability to consistently predict people they think they understand. They are more likely to assume that people who make the same decisions as they do arrive at those decisions by the same reasoning.
One Character's Trash...
Similarly, actions that are satisfying for one Primary House sorting can be unsatisfying for another.
You can have characters who do the same things but for different reasons and with different conclusions about whether that action is "good" or not.
Maybe the Gryffindor wasn’t ever convinced by the Slytherin-looking morals they were sporting. Maybe they thought it was a weakness, a sacrifice they were making for their family, or maybe standing by their loyalties was the best they thought they could do as a powerless person in an unjust world.
When they reclaim their Gryffindor moral compass, or embrace their ability to act on what they think is right, they abandon the Loyalist morality that was unintuitive to them.
For the Gryffindor it’s a moment of freedom, realization, and self-actualization-- but for their Slytherin, who’s deeply satisfied and validated by the morality they thought they shared, this can be an especially shocking and confusing betrayal.
...
Next, we'll talk about conflict between Character and World, and between Character and Story.

Do you think our jonathan might turn evil or combine with with other jonathan ? Do you think that our jonathan felt like Jordan got more of the attention? Also do you watch any other cw TV shows
1. Maybe not entirely evil but Jon is growing increasingly distant from his family and there is a possibility of the two Jon-s merging right before the finale. As we see, Jon-El isn’t entirely evil either, he was misguided by Ally. He needs more time with his family.
2. The move to Smallville for his brother affected Jon’s life. Right at the moment, he feels he would get equal attention from his parents if he got powers like his brother or his Bizarro self. He needs more time with both Clark and Lois to make him realise not having powers doesn’t make him any less specials.
3. I do watch other CW Shows: I enjoy Stargirl apart from Superman And Lois. I used to watch Supergirl too!
