(I know they’re not men…but the song itself is stunning! Starts off slower like the quiet pining for one another and gradually builds up to the crescendo of how falling in love feels)

"Hector was a good man" "diomedes was an honorable man" BZZZT WRONG. Diomedes was there to steal, burn, and wage war same as the next person. In fact, he was pretty adamant about it. Hector had no issue with the greek's actions, merely that they were directed at him—I mean look at what he wanted to do with patroclus's body, only to then cite respect for funeral rites when it was his own turn to die. Hector also owned slaves within his own city walls—people that he likely took from their homes during troy's own conquests. All that seperated him and the greek warriors was which side they were on.

The Iliad isn't a story about morally upstanding men. Sure, it has men who have honor and perform honorable acts, but these are not good samaritans. It's is a story about war and grief and the real victims of fights between so-called-honorable men and gods. The urge to find a "good guy" in this story is wasted. Hector doesn't have to be morally good just because achilles isn't. Troy didn't lose because they were more or less evil than the greeks. It all just. Is. Because of fate? Because the gods said so? Because people will always make disastrous mistakes and it will always end up biting not only them, but everyone else around them? Who knows? In the end though, doesn't it all feel so pointless in the face of the endless amounts of grief and destruction that war leaves behind? Maybe that's the whole point

"the best thing i ever did in my life was love people" is so bruce wayne coded because every single decision every single mistake every single tragedy that he's made can be linked back to loving someone too much (and not exactly in the right way) that the grief that follows their loss, whether it was permanent or temporary, literally kills a part of him and is rebuilt entirely unrecognisable. the best thing he has ever done in his life is love people, even if he's never done it correctly.

it might be my dislike for the "in every universe yadda yadda" trope speaking, but I just. don't see why Ekko had to go to an alt universe and see Powder grown up to figure out he could still share with Jinx what he'd shared with Powder. Like don't get me wrong I loved the dance and the cuteness and the pretending like it's the first time... but he already figured most of it out in s1. And it was a much better, more nuanced scene - of course seeing a physical reminder that she is Powder with the capacity to love him would change his mind, but it's much more powerful when it's shown through their shared memories and behaviors. The coexistence of gentleness and violence in the bridge scene is the heart and soul of why their dynamic is so interesting. She will play their childhood game, she will look at him softly, and then try to blow them both up. We could have had an episode that continues that story, that shows us how they would find their way back to each other now that the main obstacle, Silco, is removed... But instead, Ekko went through it with a separate person, while Jinx went through it offscreen, and nothing more was ever said about it. Man. I am sad.
