I have finished The Tithenai Chronicles and have no idea what to read next. These books pulled at my heart strings in the best way. The queerness. The love. The yearning. The mystery and twists. The QUEERNESS. I literally need to sit down and just process @fozmeadows’s masterpieces and bask in how amazing these books are

confirming the Ethiopian wolf pollination hypothesis seems so straightforward in theory, like just erecting anti-wolf barriers around some of the hot poker plants and seeing if those get pollinated at the same rate as the other ones, but also I feel like it could be some lab’s 6 year long project that ends up in Nature and answers more questions about wolf dessert time than I could ever think to ask. and also it would give more beautiful photos of wolves between 3 seconds and 1 hour into passionate nectar indulgence. so hopefully with the media attention they’re getting they can do that

🕯 A Strange & Stubborn Endurance and All The Hidden Paths - by @fozmeadows 🕯

This was the 2nd part of my trade with @lizz_binding . Originally I meant to just do ASASE for our rebind trade but wanted to spoil her a bit so gave myself an excuse to do the sequel for her as well by calling it an early birthday present. (Her birthday is mid-june)

Last year she really raved about Book 1 and I'm so glad I read it because it's absolutely stunning. The writing is beautiful, the world-building is gorgeous, the story is wonderful. 10000% recommend.

Since I was doing both books I leaned into the filigree theme of them and decided to do inlays of them embedded into each other. The two lighter greens on each book is inlayed bookcloth with the darker green being the htv. I went with greens to match the Tithenaian colors.

They're not perfect but I LOVE them!

Since you liked my side wound ask, I'm sharing you a (paraphrased) bit I loved from my priest's homily for Sunday of St. Thomas:

St. Thomas is never shamed by the narrative for asking to touch the wounds - if anything, it's the opposite, since Christ grants his request without complaint. Hence, where St. John represents coming to Christ through unwavering faith and Ss. Peter and Paul represent coming to Christ through repentance, St. Thomas represents coming to Christ through questioning - and all of them are saints for it.

Duuuude this is so great! God bless your priest, he's so right! There is no shame in Thomas' request!

Honestly i love it about Jesus so much that He heard Thomas saying "this is what I would need to believe" and He went "okay, then I'll give it to you. because I love you". And you know what? He did the same to me. He does the same to everybody. Coming to faith through questioning, arguing with God, doubting even but only sincere and hopeful doubting, and all of it being holy, man, God is so good!!

Hi! I’m in the US right now and I’m not feeling so good. The Tithenai Chronicles are my favorite books. Can you share some happy fun facts about the characters to cheer me up?

Once they settle at Ravethae, Cae and Vel soon find themselves custodians to a litter of kittens sired by Son of Spoons. One kitten in particular becomes so enamoured of Cae that she starts using his braid as a ladder to climb up and sit on his head, clinging on contentedly for as long as he'll allow it or until she gets bored. For this feat, Vel names the kitten Chamois, after the silk chamois that scale cliffs in the mountains, and so it becomes a not-uncommon sight at Ravethae for Cae to be seen walking around with Chamois riding him like the tiny, furry captain of an ambulatory ship. Cae, in turn, makes a game of pretending the kitten isn't there, to the bafflement of adult guests and the particular delight of various children.

When Yasa Kithadi comes to visit them and asks, somewhat exasperatedly, why there's a kitten on Caethari's head, the whole estate holds its breath to see if the heir apparent will commit to the bit, or break character in the face of his grandmother's judgement.

"What kitten," Cae says blandly.

Outwardly, Yasa Kithadi appears unmoved. Inwardly, she's endeared. And if Chamois just so happens to acquire a fetching collar during the course of the yasa's visit courtesy of some anonymous donor - well. That's neither here nor there.
