Drew this for new years, as 2024 is set to be the Year of the Dragon, come February. And I've never drawn all of them together before like this, sooo.... yep!!!

I hope to make this part of Kenopsia a comic as well!! Maybe to parallel Stars Below to prevent burnout...? who knows!

In light of the election I’d like to grant you all the wonderful company and companionship of my third and most vicious dragon yet. Meet the Hatchet-Man Gargoyle! Also called the Red King Gargoyle! (I couldn’t decide on a name so it varies depending on who you’re talking to.)

Gargoyles are often viewed as little pests; the dragon equivalent of pigeons or rats. The most common garg species are the River Rock Gargs and The Goblin Gargs, two grey/green cat sized dragons that enjoy roaming around cities and eating garbage.

Overall they’re deemed little nuisances with ugly mugs, but you’ll think twice to tease their snout and jowls when you meet a Red King Garg.

As big as a carriage and with the nose of a bloodhound pack, this dragon can track it’s prey for miles once it’s marked it’s pursuit. Its bite is highly infectious and once it’s injured prey it’ll follow the smell of rot through cities and across oceans.

This garg is often made out to be a demon and an ill-omen but but what many don’t realize is how just and noble the beast is. Its stomach acid is strong enough to dissolve normally deadly carrion diseases that would otherwise infect healthy animals and humans and some say its nose can catch whiffs of ill intention and deceit on people.

Though not normally a domestic creature I grant everyone who sees or interacts with this post their very own Gargoyle trainer’s permit and companion garg of choice. The Gargs will keep you safe and happy and will bring down fiery justice to all who may wish you harm.

Still a baby dragon-thaneil but more detailed and most definitely didn’t steal someone’s flag to use as a blankie, this is an innocent lil noodle after all……right?

Here is your silly fellow

This dragon seems almost as though it stepped out of a cartoon about aliens. Its mostly purple and chubby body is scaleless, and its short tail ends in a rounded nub. Its hands and feet are blobs that extend from the tips of its legs, the only distinction between the feet and the hands being that the hands have visible thumbs, giving them an almost mitten-like appearance. Its wings are short and useless for flight, only able to buzz like a bee. Its head is also rather cartoonish, with a rounded snout, blue horns that resemble an insect’s antennae and large, entirely green eyes.

Its breath weapon is a laser that also looks cartoonish and has sounds to match.

Experimenting with some headshot icons, and used Zahalkro first because he's, like.... my go-to guinea pig. Didn't know if I liked the bolder, stronger shadows more, or the lighting i typically use, so here's all of em!

What style do you guys like more? the stark black shadows, the black shadows with a small bit of color, or the normal purple lightning i tend to use?

if i can pick, i may make MORE with that similar lightning/filter style... :]

Weekly dragon: The Arc of Poles!

A rare and magnificent beast known as an Arc of Poles. This dragon has one of the most powerful brains of any dragon, not so much in intelligence but rather electrical power. This dragon, with its oversized brain is capable of wielding electromagnetism!

Being nearly 84% water its able to use electricity to telekinetically move its entire body across land and sea in pursuit of what, were not sure!

Arcs absorb most of their nutrients and moisture through their skin and are scarcely hunted by other dragons. So its reason for perpetual wandering is left a mystery. The leading theory goes that Arcs are simply adoringly curious about the world around them.

Gonna do my first YFCaD reblog dragon before I go to bed

These strange dragon-like creatures look as though they were at first created in laboratories, but bred true and have since become a prosperous species. Usually, only their piercing white eyes can be seen peering out from the darkness. Though clearly vertebrates, their dark red, scaleless skin has the same texture as birch tree bark, especially near the ‘wings’, elbows and crest. Said ‘wings’ are leaf-like outgrowths of cartilage and nervous tissue that have photosynthetic properties. Similar outgrowths run down the length of its neck and end just below the shoulder blades, and this crest can be made to stand up as a form of intimidation.

Where a dragon’s actual wings would be sits a pair of massive, disturbingly human-like arms with claws at the tips of the fingers. The dragon’s actual arms are used purely as manipulatiory appendages (and this trait makes them infamous for breaking the necks of the inattentive), using its ‘armwings’ and back legs to walk in an almost gorilla-like fashion.

Its breath weapon, if you could really call it that, is a single barbed needle that is fired from a hole on the end of its otherwise mouthless head. This barb is laced with a venom so potent that it can kill humans and other large animals in under five seconds.
