What Sembla(s) are some of the Keratasia species able to use?
so, every species in the Forever Ocean has something that i call a "species trait" that leans into one Sembla or another.
for example, Banetai can all hide in shadows as their trait. Frukku are immune to the negative effects of sugar as their trait.
HOWEVER, this "species trait" is inherent to all individuals regardless of their personal bias. All 39 Sembla are free for individuals to have access to.
So you have your Species Ability that is only tuned to a specific Sembla, and then your Personal Abilities that can be whatever.
once i've finalized the species traits, they'll be in their respective guides!
(the only species exempt from this at the moment are the Kraizen. they ONLY have individual abilities.)

Some dragons of Keratasa, focused on in Corpse Eyes (the fifth major part of Kenopsia.)
Drew this for new years, as 2024 is set to be the Year of the Dragon, come February. And I've never drawn all of them together before like this, sooo.... yep!!!
I hope to make this part of Kenopsia a comic as well!! Maybe to parallel Stars Below to prevent burnout...? who knows!
anyway, dragons. lots of them. WEIRD dragons. and i love all of them :)

Get this. There’s a species, right? Creatures from the beginning of the universe, so extremely diverse. They can be big, small, any color, look like pretty much anything, only with a few general requirements. These aliens, called the Kraizen, have four paradigms. Ekorian, joy, green. Krianian, creativity, blue. Devarian, power, purple. Beltasian, love, red. These four help found the identities of the entire Kraizenian people. Another astounding feature of the Kraizen is their attunement to the Semblic system- a psionic-based castic system of 40 39 Sembla, all diverse. For millions of years they thrive, living in relative harmony in a near-perfect society. But eventually, after these millions of years, an Event hits. They are made practically immortal, but at the cost of a few things. The ability to reproduce, the ability to eat comfortably (unless you’re Devarian), the ability to feel things related to your Paradigm, and are now all hellbent on wiping out the universe in a corrupt sense of ‘mercy’- Life is suffering, so they must be the hero and end it, correct? Through the past 5 million years, the new Vani have been wiping out the universe, ending numerous species and planets. A similar species, two pages of the same book, the Omni, fight back. The two kinds have different approaches to the Vani problem- the day-like Omni, the Holloans, have a harsher approach, while the Night Omni, the Jaluans, want to remind the Vani of what they once were as Kraizen. A specific planet that has been under target multiple times, named Keratasa, houses notable species, such as the shapeshifting shadow beasts called the Banetai, the carnivorous jester Troupera, the sound-eating Cheyolgra, and even some of the simpler races, such as the Tanri, the Lokwi, and the Armadogs. And even older than that, in the past, dragons roamed Keratasa, all diverse as well, different types of species. And these dragons were made to fight back against the star-beast, the Kraizen. And on Earth, a phenomenon is occurring. Humans are becoming monsters- all unique, with their own forms, finally gaining the ability to use psionics. I wonder what that’s about. Reaching further into the Cosmos- the layers of the universe themselves- we see other different species. The Devils, bioluminescent beasts of order, the Guardians, ghost-like entities possessing dreams and electronics in our own world, the Vampires, a starved, blood-sucking race that create thralls of a sort, and the Basilisks, beasts of madness with incomprehensible gazes that freeze you in their place. Hypnofantasma houses many different alien races, all so diverse, as an expansive universe that is beautiful and criminally underrated. I implore you to check it out.

I was Always curious about a description of/blurb for violet city...
Pre-ruin or no.. just curious!!
OK SO BASICALLY- the Violet City, for those unaware, is an impossibly massive surface city on the planet of Keratasa. It's on the eastern supercontinent of Peraraksa, near the equator and a little bit north; it's in a bit of a savannah-like area, though they have built artificial lakes.
The entire city is shaped like a flower, sort of like an actual violet, with many different "levels" of districts. Each district is on a "petal" and supported with enormous pillars, and there are at least seven districts (though there may actually be more, I'm not sure yet). At the center of the city are immense skyscrapers, with the main central building being by far the largest and tallest thing across the entire continent.
This city would dwarf NYC. Not only that, it has moving parts- this structure larger than the entire island of Manhattan has entire moving districts. The city is said to be able to close like a flower, but that may just be legend...
ANYWAY, this city is lead by a beloved mayor- Miyari! She is a very tall yet friendly being, welcoming to all and promising eternal happiness for all!... Except dragons! Why? Because dragons have sworn to destroy her city, her beautiful city of happiness... Every time a dragon enters, they wreck the place! How could they? So, they must stay out. Buuut... that shouldn't be an issue, as none of us are dragons! How delightful!
-
Nowadays, however, it's just ruins. That was all in the past, when dragons still walked Keratasa. I wonder what happened...?

What are some of your favorite species on Keratasa?
honestly ALL OF THEM!! it's so hard to choose
Armadogs, though, have a special place in my heart because i made them when i was just a kid, like when i was 9 or so. they aren't necessarily the most badass or gimmicky or colorful species, but they mean a lot to me!

What are some of the Keratasian species naming conventions? (Tanri, Gostrak, Lokiwi, etc. Pretty much whatever ones have guides on TH so far)
i'm not gonna give them name guides beyond "don't name them based off human name meanings."
i.e. they aren't Christian so don't give them an Abrahamic name with that same meaning, if that makes sense. if you find a Keratasian named Gabriel or something it's just because it's a nice sound, not because it's a biblical name in origin, for example.
that's of course only canonically. if you get inspired by said name due to that origin, that's fine, but not in-universe, i REALLY hope that makes sense
otherwise, no guides or conventions

Is it okay if we draw some dragons as anthro?
ye i don't care how you draw em
only thing i ask is that if you draw canon characters, please don't change their body types in the translation. but if it's a fan character go ham

ok heres a lil funny silyl question,, do you think officers would be used in like. motivational posters for miyaris city.. like a funny lil silly robot being used as a mascot
oh abso-LUTELY. in actuality, they look do pretty frightening, but there's a ton of artwork and such ALL around the City depicting them as cute and benevolent just like this, like guardian mascots:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I was originally planning a Miyari-centric animatic, which would mainly feature this sort of 50's aesthetic and general art style, and would've featured a ton of super stylized Officers in this similar style!
Here's a Miyari concept from that same thing:
Tumblr media
i should draw some in-universe propaganda/motivational posters sometime .........

How come Treoloto's wiki page says he isn't on the Keratasa team anymore but when you go to the folder for To Be The Last he's there? Sorry I'm a little confused.
I don't run the Wiki, and it is riddled with inaccuracies. Only the Toyhouse information is true and accurate as I run it by myself and solely myself. if ever you're confused about sources, trust only what I directly say or what the Toyhouse has

So what's the deal with this "Azure" condition? Is it like Twisting? An infection from blue jiki but evolved to a worse and detrimental stage? What does it even do?!
Azurism is a unique, strange, dangerous zombie-like plague affecting the inhabitants of Keratasa. It is special to the plot of To Be The Last, and a major issue and mystery that Jackie and her friends must deal with! You will find out more in TBTL, so not yet, i'm afraid.
All I can say is that it transforms normal creatures, like Tanri or Banetai, into warped, mindless zombies that are immensely powerful. It is spread by a slash or bite to the spine or neck.

Where do the banetai live? I am aware they live on keratasa but can they live on other planets? What is their typical enviroment they usually make their homes?
deep forests/woodlands. they venture out to other places to hunt but they live and thrive in shadowy woods with tall, dense trees
they could live on any planet with Earth- or Keratasa-like atmospheres as well as possess some sort of forest

Care to shed any more light on the kval mx kenopsia? I think theyre really interesting but theres limited info about them on the toyhouse.
Also, any plans to make species pages for the omni/kval/dragons on keratasa/etc?
The mystery around them is MOSTLY due to spoiler reasons, so I've kept most info of them under wraps. you also can't make a Kval OC because they can't really exist as individuals. you can make Kval designs, sure, but they can't really be characters.
all I can say is that they're seemingly made of shadowy tendrils, but not of atoms- until slain. they're edible to the Kraizen alone, but the Kraizen ate WAYYYYYYY more things than just Kval. the kwaiz would categorize Kval in different ways depending on how dangerous they were and what abilities they were detected to have.
they also all have a "tail" that trails off into oblivion, with no end in sight. they die if this tail is severed.
they WILL get a species page eventually, but it'll be WAY more brief and abstract since they're Like That. as for the OTHER species, yeppers 100000%

If I may ask, could we know the "stars _" names of all the currently known Keratasa vani <- guy who sent the same ask but just about eramor but Loves That Name Format
They aren't at all all finalized, but i'll likely add that title to the Vani profiles (both in Stars Below AND TBTL) at some point just to track them better!

Known Life-Bearing Planets
-
There are hundreds upon hundreds of known life-bearing planets in our universe, of which said universe is also called the Forever Ocean. Specifically, these are planets with life on them that can house souls and minds- beings capable of thought and magic. Bacteria-like organisms may exist on several thousand times more celestial bodies, but the ones of obvious interest to us are the ones with creatures.
And while there are hundreds of those life-bearing worlds, we'll only be going over a small selection of them for now. The Forever Ocean is massive, after all...
-----
Keratasa
Tumblr media
(CARE-ruh-TAW-suh)
Keratasa is a large rocky world, with a moderately sized atmosphere, an intricate system of plate tectonics, and extremely variable weather systems. It is known for its lavender skies, periwinkle oceans, and forests of all sorts of colors. Oh- and also its most obvious feature, as well. It is a rocky planet with massive rings!
Its continents can be broken up into four supercontinents and a small straggler continent. There is the western hemisphere's Shibeilai, consisting of the northern, tropical-and-grassy Beilai and the southern, taiga-like Shilai. Connected to Shilai is the nearly entirely frozen tundra-and-mountainous supercontinent, Essel, and the much smaller (and not frozen but still chilly) Ouvru, both of which encompass the southern hemisphere.
To the far north is the icy yet volcanic Vilaak, and nearby, the tropical jungle continent of Javra, resting to the north of the eastern hemisphere. The largest supercontinent is called Peraraksa, consisting of the southern forest realm of Peraa and the northern realm of Raksa- a massive, harrowing desert of grey sands and perpetually clouded skies. This desert is also known as the Echo Vault. This supercontinent nearly entirely encompasses the eastern hemisphere.
Along with several non-continental islands, there is a single, small, lone continent called Gangaal, consisting of a series of massive mountains surrounding a main, gargantuan mountain. This mountain realm rests in the center of the central ocean.
Keratasa has two moons, nicknamed the Steelwild and the Dreamwild. The Steelwild has visible, artificial lights on it, so it can be assumed there are some sort of civilizations on it. The Dreamwild, however, is entirely mysterious, despite being physically closer.
Due to how many wormhole portals (called Links) are built upon this world, leading to other life-bearing worlds... some tend to refer to Keratasa as a sort of "crossroads" world.
-
Frukkua
Tumblr media
(froo-KOO-wuh)
Frukkua is an interesting planet of pink waters and sugar-based lifeforms. Imagine a real-like Candyland, with landscapes of candies and sugars and chocolate and sugary fluffs... but, within those landscapes, lives a nature just as vicious as any other. Endlessly, creatures of Frukkua will battle and hunt each other for the life-sustaining substance that is pure sugar.
But not everything is sickly sweet. A relatively large moon, nicknamed the Saltwild, orbits Frukkua in a tidally locked fashion. Killer geysers of magma and salts jettison out, directly towards Frukkua; these jets are so massive that they can cause odd salt rains upon the sugary surface.
It's said, however... that the Saltwild may even have inhabitants on it. Inhabitants who originated on Frukkua's sweet surface. Being devoid of its sugary essence may even warp the new inhabitants...
-
The Wanderwild
Tumblr media
A mysterious and chilly planet with many names, about two thirds of the side of Keratasa. Some of these names include the Wanderwild, the Snowball, Terrokasa, and Earth. Despite only having one sapient civilization, it is a world with an identity crisis, infested with pollution and storms and beasts of a seemingly archaic mindset of basal natural instincts. Most odd of all, that single civilization- they endlessly chase materials and a sign that they are not alone. What is wrong with them; were they always destructive like this?
And do they not have a portal to the other worlds? Is it truly that isolated? Just a lonely little planet, constantly freezing and melting... Wanting to be a beacon trapped in the past.
Some call it Keratasa's abandoned, plastic twin.
-
Nanobey
Tumblr media
(NAH-no-bay)
The smallest known rocky life-world, at only between an eighth or seventh the size of Keratasa. It has only underground oceans, as its crust is nearly entirely covered in grey dust, rocks, and crystals. The largest animal on the planet is less than three feet long, nose to tail. The main lifeforms of this seemingly desolate planet are extremely intelligent microorganisms, who can work together in colonies to equal the intelligence of a sapient being as a singularity.
These six-foot-tall cities work to drill for water and underground plants, and have for millions of years. The two-foot-long animals are like kaiju to these tiny cities, hunting to eat the intelligent microorganisms like an anteater.
-
The Scorchwild
Tumblr media
Probably the life-world that exists under the most peculiar circumstances. It is a desert-like world, scorched by its blazing hot-white moon. Its days are marked by the rising and setting of its moon, while its nights are cast in shadows by its distant, cool, dim red star.
Creatures come out to bask under the cool of the sun, and hide in the caves and tunnels during the night. It's unknown why the moon is the way it is; it isn't a star, but contains the heat and light of one.
Could someone even set foot on that moon?
-
Seseri
Tumblr media
(SESS-suh-ree)
A yellowish planet with long, thin continents, and an unbelievably massive atmosphere. Every creature on this unique planet evolved to be able to seemingly levitate, and can seem to swim around the massive atmosphere as if it were an ocean. There is ground to land on as well as clear waters devoid of any color. Life exists in every biome, but it is the sky that flourishes. There are even natural floating islands, of which creatures live on.
As for if alien life could float if they arrived here, that is currently unknown. The current theory is that they may be far too heavy. The native creatures all seem to be made of drapes and lightweight tendrils, and seem to act like jellyfish...
-
Kezelvi
Tumblr media
(KEH-zuhl-vee)
A planet about the same size as Keratasa, comprised of multiple and incomplete vertical layers of crust, each accessible from the other either going up or down. The true surface is entirely aquatic, with a deep ocean spanning a couple miles. The multiple layers of land crust arc out of the ocean and are supported by massive pillars, and each rest about half a mile above the other. There is a total of five crystalline layers, each one thinner than the one below.
The crystal supports crystal-based flora, fungi, and- of course- fauna. This world also supports a small ring, made entirely of extremely fine crystals. It often snows crystals on the surface, as well; not rain, snow!
-
Kraizenia
Tumblr media
(cry-ZEN-nee-uh)
Probably the most ancient of all life-bearing worlds... and currently, the most mysterious.
What was known about Kraizenia is currently lost.
We know only that it was the first life-world.
